The stay was good but the big bummer is no sewer hook ups. I talked to the staff: sever hook-ups are coming and Wi-Fi too. The rate is the same everyday. The game wardens are all over the place, so have your fishing permit handy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice, clean and very well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside for us was the lack of sewer hook-up. After three days, the gray water needed dumping. For a two week trip, this was very inconvenient for us. Were able to get a good satellite TV signal and our Alltel wireless Internet worked great. Would stay here again if for a short time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a first come first serve campground for Active Duty, Retirees, DOD & NAF Civilians only. 44 of the sites are full hookups. Rates are determined by rank. Most sites have trees that provide either partial or full shade. If all sites are taken there is a dry camping location that will easily accommodate at least 8 rigs. To say this campground is awesome is an understatement. Wildlife abounds, you are a short drive to Anchorage to tour around, discount tickets available on base for various excursions, motorized & non-motorized boats for rent and for the golfer there are 2 different courses, The Hill Course and the Creek Course at Moose Run make-up the World's Northernmost 36-hole golf course. Husband played both and saw moose on the Hill course. He completely enjoyed both the sites and courses. Fort Richardson and Elmendorf are connected so you can eat like a king at the Air Force Iditarod dining facility. Camp hosts were outstanding. Unless you are a very late sleeper (11AM) you will see and hear the Air Force jets going through maneuvers. That was a thrill for us to see. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground! Sites were parallel to roads so the RV curb side faced forested area and the sites were staggered so that no RV was across from another (the nearest neighbor was 30-40' away). It's very peaceful and gives a secluded feeling. Lots of forested area to walk the dog! Free laundry service. Nice playground for kids. Having sewer is a big plus over neighboring Elmendorf AFB FamCamp. Did have to wet down road occasionally to keep dust down. The military RV parks are the best Anchorage has to offer (wouldn't stay anywhere else within Anchorage). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
