One thing keeps this from being a 9 or 10. It is the interior roads speed bumps. I thought the frame of our MH was going to drag on a couple of them. Otherwise this is a great CG. This was our 3rd time staying there. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly (especially if you are an Auburn grad). You are led to your site and help offered to hook up. The sites are level and, if you stay on the back (be sure to ask for a site in the back) where we were, the sites are at least 35', if not 40' wide and angled such that you have a lot of privacy. All utilities work fine. Little if any road noise. Shopping and dining within 10 minutes, if not 5. In the rear of the CG is a small lake (or large pond) that has a paved track around it. Great for some exercise. Whether you are passing through or want to spend a few days, this is the place. Having stayed 3 times, obviously we would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were desperate to stay at a spot between New Orleans and Atlanta that had excellent Cable for the bowl games. We stayed here about 7 years ago. What a change! First of all, the owner closed at noon, but came back immediately to check us in at 3 p.m. on New Year's Eve. GREAT PR and service - taking us through the rules, to our site, and helping us hook up. Fabulous improvements from the new bushes and trees, to the sodded areas between units to the new gravel and concrete pads at EVERY site. VERY level, spotless clean, and the best dog run in the South. A new concrete walkway around their pond with lights for walking even at midnight! Very safe, secure, and the best RV spot in the South. Oh yes - and fabulous cable and Wi-Fi for the bowl games! We would stay here again AND stay longer if we could! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice park and management obviously cares about it's condition. Strict rules about staying off the grass and there are lots of orange cones around to remind you. There are lots of long term campers here but their sites are kept up very well. Wifi worked most of the time. Some road noise from US 231 can be heard but was not a bother. Verizon phone and mifi worked well. Park offers a weekly and monthly rate. Sites and roads are gravel. Did not check out the laundry or bathhouse. Nice fenced pet area with seating available for pet owners. Escort to site. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good campground for a stay over or for a visit. Sites are very large, level and well graveled. Roads are gravel and there is little dust. Staff is very friendly. Elec and water are reliable. CAUTION if you stay here be sure to use a pressure reducer on the water as the psi is 120. Strong WiFi signal. Verizon works well. Thiis is our 3rd stay here and look forward to coming back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here 3 nights on our way to work hurricane damage in LA. We were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations of this park. Very, very neat, level lots, clean and manicured grounds, and a wonderful staff. Security guard drove around all the time, but was so friendly! There's even a 1/2 acre dog park. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I had to chuckle about the dog nazi statement in one review. How true that is! You aren't supposed to let your dog wet outside on the grass. You are supposed to take them to the dog park. I have to wonder how a little 5 lb dog can possibly hurt their grass, but whatever. I found the staff friendly, but really overbearing when it comes to the pet "friendly" part of the park. It could be their dog watering on their shrubs and killing them. Make sure you don't drive your car the wrong way to your site, either. Oh, well, it's a nice park with spacious pull through sites and close to Montgomery and to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Courses in Prattville. There's even a decent fish restaurant right down the road: a bit of Alabama hospitality! There is no pool. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. Easy access, big rig friendly. We were escorted to our site. Streets are hard surfaced and in good condition. Sites are spacious and level, packed gravel parking area with grass and concrete patios with shrubs, all well maintained. Shade trees are scattered around the park. Utilities are conveniently located at the center of the site, not to one end or the other. Water pressure and electric are fine. Good lineup of cable TV channels. The Wi-Fi is a little intermittent, but OK. Recreation is limited. Inside, a lounge area with TV, books and puzzles/games. There is a nice-looking playground, but no pool. The dog area looks nice, but I didn't use it. Bath/shower rooms look fine. The laundry is small with only one dryer. Overall, the park is very well laid out, nicely maintained and the rules are enforced so it's nice and quiet. No tents or FEMA trailers allowed so that helps. Very little road noise. The rate quoted reflect weekly charge. We will definitely stay here again. This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two nights. This appears to be a newer RV park. Easy access from the highway. The gravel internal roadways are wide and well maintained. Sites are level and wide with concrete patio and grass. Washroom and shower facilities are very clean and spacious. We did not use the laundry facilities but they looked very clean. Hook ups were well placed. Excellent water pressure. WiFi was very good. Cable TV worked fine with a good selection of channels. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground its self is not bad. Bathrooms were NOT clean with black mold growing along the tops of the showers, and the shower floors are not clean. But the worst part of the park was the way that the owners treat the guests. After the way they treated my wife we will NEVER return to this park. We also saw them treating other guests the same way. They may be a little cheaper than others in the area, but I will gladly pay more rather than be treated the way we were. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As previously stated, the sites are level and wide. Streets are well marked. Wi-Fi is not reliable, and the "Bark Park" is large and would be a nice place to let dogs run loose, if it weren't for the fact that evidently the area is never cleaned. It was full of dog excrement. Above rate reflects one month at monthly rate of $410, and 2 weeks at weekly rate of $130. We have stayed here many times. Clean, neat, level gravel sites. Wi-Fi is poor/rarely works for long, very picky about car parking and direction of travel on the very wide streets. Getting more picky about pets, I would to walk my dog through the park while I get some exercise: not allowed. Our Surge Guard trips power occasionally due to transient over/under voltage most likely due to a bad common on their electrical system but they blame the power company. Good place to stay If you use a GOOD SURGE GUARD and a GOOD WATER PRESSURE REGULATOR. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. The owners are on site and actively managing and improving the facilities. I had no problem getting through the park and onto my site. I was escorted to my site by the owners father. All sites are paved with a paved patio and an outdoor glass top table. Great water pressure. But, I found the Wi-Fi to be somewhat spotty. This is a great location to visit the many attractions in and around the Montgomery area. I would absolutely return and recommend this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Attractive, clean, well-designed park with level sites and attractive landscaping. Lots of open space around park and lake plus a huge dog park. Wi-Fi was somewhat unreliable, but good when it was up. Nice sized cement patio with each site. All sites face north so unit provides shade from afternoon sun. Price reflects weekly rate. It is all the good remarks others have made, but Management are Dog Nazis. Dogs must go to the dog walk, even in the middle of the night. One must not stop en-route to the dog walk. Not very realistic, especially if you get the big lecture from the owner or manager while his or her dog is running loose. If don't have a dog everything is OK. Not me however, I won't even drive by the place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Extremely clean and well organized; no shade trees but each site had excellent landscaping. All sites are pull-throughs with plenty of space between sites. All necessary help is available. There are a lot of full-timers, but the campground does not give the typical appearance of full-timers. The owner is always present and helpful. The campground is growing with level, smooth sites. The owner is thankfully committed to continued cosmetic improvements. We enjoyed staying here during each of the last 3 years. However, if you require internet connectivity, you may out of luck. It has never been working properly during any of my previous stays. The signal strength is very low, and I was parked within 50 feet of the repeater antenna. I suspect there is more wrong than signal strength. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very well laid out. We had no trouble locating with our GPS. There are concrete pads and tables with each site. The cable was good, but our AT&T air card was slow. The restrooms were clean and individualized (very unique for RV sites. The laundry was well kept. This would be a 10 rating if there was a pool. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects monthly rate. Sites are wide and long. Utilities are good, but water pressure is VERY high and electric sometimes surges with high voltage. You REALLY NEED a good water pressure regulator and surge guard with over/under voltage protection here. The free WiFi is virtually useless: good signal but no internet connection most of the time. Verizon mobile broadband signal is very good. Even with a high percentage of apparently permanent residents, the management has done much toward creating a great RV park: taking care of the problems in many other poorly designed parks. Both sites and streets are very wide, long and level, though the crushed gravel does tend to track inside the RV. Patios are located for trailers, and are too far to the rear of the site for front-entry motorhomes. The only real issue here is that the management/site host has serious control issues about the confusing traffic pattern. Only two of the very wide streets are two way (depending on what site you are in), while all others are one way only, requiring you to drive two or three times as far as necessary to get to/from your site. If you approach your site from the wrong direction EVEN IF YOU DID NOT VIOLATE ANY ONE WAY STREETS, you will get a note on your windshield telling you to: "Please enter your site the right way." If you dare to park in FRONT of your RV rather BEHIND it, you will get a note on your windshield telling you to: "Please enter your site the right way," and most of the time with a highlighted reminder that: "The speed limit is 5mph." Management blood pressure, and that of their guests, would be considerably lower if they would get over some of their traffic pattern control issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a little bit of distance off the interstate. Long, level pull through sites with escort to site. No room for parking your tow vehicle in the front of your site. Must park it to the side and rear of your RV. If you want to use your satellite dish on a tripod, they are very strict on where you can place it. Verizon cell and air card each had 4 bars of service. Most of the occupants are permanents or snowbirds. Nice clean looking park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Absolutely the best "functionally-designed" RV park we have ever stayed in. All sites are pull-through and the roads between each row of sites are extra wide to allow for ease of maneuvering, hooking up, etc. In addition, ALL of the sites face North so that the afternoon sun is behind your RV providing ample shade! I was very impressed by the staff's attitude and ability! They are professional, yet friendly, and would go out of their way to help the customer. It is a fairly new park, so there aren't very many mature trees and as a result, not a lot of shade if you walk around. But, the grounds are well-maintained, landscaped, and it has a FIRST-RATE children's playground! Awesome place for the family, yet perfect for a quiet get-away weekend! Just a perfect RV park! We felt safe and more than comfortable during our stay. If you are looking for a park that is easy to get to, yet quiet, this is your place! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived on Sunday. We tried to call ahead, received message center. Upon arriving, an open sign displayed, but doors were locked. They have two numbers to call to get manager or owner to sign you in. The staff arrived in less than 5 minutes. It took only a few minutes to get business completed. We were lead to campsite, all gravel campsite w/ 30/50amp hookups. The site was level. There is a playground available along with a dog run area. August in Montgomery (record temps). The WiFi was on most of the time, signal was on but not connected to internet Monday. Once office opened and modem rebooted it worked well. Overall a very nice campground. Exception, probably a result of idiot dog owners that misused campground in past. You can not walk your dogs around the campground even on a leash. You are suppose to walk them to dog run area and back. Funny a dog is in the front office loose and was left in the dog run area. Rules are not for all. Additionally, not everyone picked. There is one trash bin right near the exit, convenient to use on way out, a small walk to take trash if you're farther away. The traffic pattern is new so follow the signs. Overall a good park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As we checked in, the owner told us that he always vowed that when he built his own RV park, he's fix all the things that annoyed him about RV parks. Looks like he came pretty close. All the sites are pull-throughs. The outlets and breakers in the electrical boxes are well labeled and numbered so you know how they're paired. Plenty of water pressure. Well maintained, friendly folks, great place to stay. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are huge, level, and easy to get into and out of. Everything works as it's supposed to. We travel with two boxers and this is the best RV park for dog owners that we have ever stayed in. Has a 1/2 acre fenced in dog play area with park benches for humans to sit on while their dogs play. We were so delighted with our overnight stay that we cancelled our reservations at our original destination and stayed here a week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Management was very nice. They close at 7:00 pm: we were running late and they called to check on us. They waited until we got here (just before 7) and escorted us to our site. Sites are well laid out with enough room for the MH and the car. Grounds were well maintained. It had rained a lot, but the roads were not muddy. We have stayed here many times and each time we've been treated like family. When we arrive, the owner pulls his coach out of a spot and let's me park there. While here this time, the cooling system on our refer went out. He let me stow some frozen items in the freezer in the office. Today his son came down with a small refrigerator that we can use till we get ours fixed. How many other parks would treat you like this? None I guess! I would highly recommend this park to anyone traveling through Montgomery. A "Thanks" to this owner and son. We really appreciate your kindness. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is newer than most. Roads and pads are gravel and dead level. It still drains pretty well in heavy rain. Full hookups worked flawlessly. The Wi-Fi was spotty the first two days but solid the rest of the week. We really enjoyed the enclosed dog park for our two dogs. The only real drawback is the proximity to the highway. In warm weather, with open windows, we would find the highway noise objectionable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park as it was the best we could find in the area. As other posters have said, it is clean with a lot of permanents living there. The park itself is not that remarkable, and fairly homely. The sites are gravel, and it had been raining prior to our arrival. This made the pads soft, and my jacks sunk in the dirt. There is a children play area that looks new. The dog run is large, but it turned out that the biggest offender to their rules was the park management. My wife was stuck in the dog yard with our much older geriatric dog while a large unleashed Lab charged the fence and tried to get in to get to our dog. When it could not reach our dog, it lost interest after a while. It retreated to a nearby camping site and left a large pile of mess in the middle of the grass. The owner then emerged from the office (the park manager or owner) and called the unleashed dog back to her. Needless to say the dog mess was not picked up. The laundry room is small, two washers and dryers. Most sites are long enough to pull through and not unhook your toad if you choose. This is a good park for an over nighter, but watch your pets. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Clean, wide and long spaces, very good roads getting there and the sites are level. It doesn't have any playthings except a fishing pond, but there is good cable TV and WI-Fi. The only thing on the down side is like others have said, the office isn't always manned. However, I didn't have to wait long before someone showed up the the front and checked me in. If there are a lot of live-ins, then they all have very nice rigs. I would say this is the best place in the Montgomery area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the ONLY place to stay at, in Montgomery (even though it's a bit north of town). Well-planned, ultra-clean, and looks as fresh and new as when we first visited two years ago. If WiFi is important to you, make sure you tell them, and they'll park you as near a repeater as possible. We asked, and were parked well, with no WiFi glitches at all. This one rates a "10" even though there is no pool or other amenities (which we frankly, never use and do not want to pay for). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We thought this park was very nice--neat and clean. The office staff was very friendly. They have enclosed a very large area for a dog park, which was quite nice. Our dog enjoyed being able to be off leash for a while everyday. Their parking spaces were large and pull through. We had no problem with the Wi-Fi. It's about 20 minutes from the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The only reason I'm not giving it a higher rating is that there is no pool. We stayed 4 nights and would stay at this park again if we were ever in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park. Not far from shopping and wonderful golf venues. A little noise from the nearby highway. We enjoyed staying here for 7 days, except the wireless internet never worked for us. Neat little park. On site owner is wonderful. He is a retired commercial landscaper and it shows. Lots of restaurant around. For seafood, "Aw Shuck" a must! We will stay here the next were are in the area. We use Verizon aircard. Signal was good. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nightly rate above was at monthly rate of $410 followed by 2 weeks of weekly rate of $130. This park is always very well kept. They recently added a large fenced dog "run" and playground equipment, and appear to be preparing to add additional sites. The only drawbacks for us are: 1) the unreliable Wi-Fi (sometimes drops out, sometimes will connect to local network but not internet), especially if you are not in direct line of site to the antenna on the office building; and 2) the fine rocks that get tracked into the RV (sites are crushed gravel/ground asphalt mixture). This is easily the best civilian RV park in the area, so we will stay again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I am not quite as impressed with this site as other reviewers. We needed a place for one night and unfortunately did not call ahead for a reservation. When we arrived it was shortly after 5 PM. We drove up to office, but found no one there. We looked for a night registration box but there was not one. We drove through the park and found some empty sites so pulled into one with the intention of registering in the morning. We were not there 5 minutes when a man approached us and in a very rude tone asked what did we think we were doing? It would appear to be obvious that we wanted to stay there. He got quite loud and was very clearly annoyed that we did not stop at the office. "Did you not read the sign ?" he said repeatedly. We stated that the office was closed and no lights were on. He continued to lecture us about the so called sign that we did not observe. If it had not been the fact that we were tired from a day of driving we would have left this place and gone somewhere that we were welcome. We have found that in our travels most RV campgrounds have night registration and assumed this to be the case. We would never stay here again. Perhaps if the owner is so concerned he should have the park gated to prevent intruders such as us. The sites were close and since we left early the next morning did not get a good feel for this place. We both were under the impression that there were mostly long term campers here. We have family in the area so for the past 3 years we've spent the fall and up to the Christmas time here. The park is really nice, and the owners are GREAT. We've been parked in the end sites on the row, and really like it. This year the owner was parked there, but he moved and gave us that site. That was real nice of him, but then he's a GREAT park host. I'd highly recommend this park to anyone who wants to stay in a park that treats you like "family". We camped here in a Motorhome.

The RV park manager was a long time landscape contractor, and it shows in the layout of the park. Each site has a patio, a patch of grass, a crepe myrtle and a couple of shrubs partially screening the neighbor's utility connections. Level, easy to use pull through sites. Bathhouse has 4 separate, full bathrooms, each with sink, commode and shower, plenty of space and a locking door. The whole park is very well kept. The large, fenced dog run is a very nice and unusual amenity. WiFi was great. Management was very helpful, even loaned us a pressure reducer (their water pressure was 110 psi). Most of the sites do not have shade, which would have been nice in August. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in the Montgomery area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a clean park and was very pet friendly with a nice, large fenced in dog run. The sites were clean, grassy, and flat with concrete pads, but very little shade with small trees. The staff was borderline friendly but nonetheless it sufficed. It's about 15 minutes North of Montgomery with good access to the highways and a lot of major retail/restaurants nearby. Park is VERY clean, easy to maneuver and very well thought out. Loved that all sites were pull-throughs and had concrete patio. This is a good template for other parks to follow when thinking about layouts. Restrooms are VERY clean. Despite being a holiday weekend, it was very quiet and we seemed to be the only people that were out and about during the day and even at night. Owners seemed very nice, however I did go to the office to inquire about ice one day. I walked in the door that was marked "Absolutely NO pets in the building" and was immediately greeted by a dog. Now, I love dogs, so I didn't mind, but it did strike me as odd. The dog's owner was working the office that day and was on the computer playing a computer game. I stood in the door for a pretty good while and he never acknowledged me, just kept playing his game, until I finally broke the silence and asked about ice. He didn't look up, just said that they don't carry any and I'd have to go to a nearby convenience store. I honestly think I could have walked out with his dog and he wouldn't have noticed! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have tried posting about this campground in the past. However, RV reviews appears to be unwilling to post (?) reviews from women camping on their own. (See September 2007.) This is a nice campground as long as you do not have to deal with the owners. One is very nice, the other is the exact opposite. I was turned away from this campground when I started asking questions such as if there are trees, what are the amenities, etc. I was hung up on and told that I could not stay there. I wish that RV Park Reviews would pay attention to the attitude of this park, as it appears to me that they are very rude to many, yet consistently show up as well reviewed. Rate reflects monthly rate of $380. New expansion open during past year, nicely integrated into previous area. Several larger sites for slightly higher cost. Cleanest restrooms/showers I have seen: even SMELLED clean! In spite of recent large expenditure for WiFi improvements, successful connection outside the immediate area in/around the office/bathhouse building was rare for us and others we talked with. We could connect at our site, but had no working internet access even though connected. Some sites have standing water on the gravel parking area after rain. Very well kept park. I was going to stay long term there. Talked with one of the owners earlier in the week. Everything was good. Talked with his son today and he couldn't have been more rude. Evidently, they stay so busy, that they feel that pleasantries such as manners are not required. Was offered one site by the father, only to be told by the son that it was not available. Very nice park. Good weekly and monthly rates: we stayed 2 months. WiFi was weak and intermittent but the management is actively working additional access points and other improvements. Very high water pressure so you MUST use a regulator. We also experienced high voltage a time or two, with our Surge Guard system shutting down our power. Management said they have had complaints from others with surge protectors in the past. Try to avoid sites on the row closest to US 231 as they are having problems with water seeping out of the leech field of the septic system of the restaurant next door. The water department is looking at the problem and the restaurant is moving very soon, so that problem should be going away. Most of the rigs on that row are actually in storage, and are moved by management when someone comes in and no other sites are available. The park is very well kept, and management is highly visible keeping things in shape daily. We are often in the area, and will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All previous positive comments are correct. I need to add that the management here is an exemplar of good customer service. We paid for two nights but had to leave after one because of nearby construction noise starting at 4 AM (a temporary problem that has nothing to do with the park and should be over in a few days!). We left a note explaining our departure, and the owner called us on the road to say he would credit our account (we paid by debit card) for the missed night. At such a high occupancy rate, he certainly didn't need to do that, but it's why we'll be back. (Besides the fact that it's a really nice place.) We camped here in a Motorhome.

A new park with all the things I want in a park. The Wi-fi works great and is free. The cable stations are many and free. Every site has a cement patio with a patio table. One of the nicest things was the management. The owner checked us in. He was very pleasant and although they were full, he moved his own RV to let us in. Another very nice part was reading the rules. There was not a DON'T in them. The grass is cut better than some golf courses. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I am a travel nurse who stayed here for about 9 months starting in July 2006. They have an excellent facility and staff. The campgrounds were always kept neat and clean. The park was almost full all the time but still quiet. I will stay here again if I return to Montgomery. When I left, they were adding on more sites. There was plenty of room between sites too. This is, by far, the nicest RV park in Montgomery Alabama. The park is new, clean, quiet, safe and close to everything in Montgomery and Wetumpka. Owner is enlarging park but there's already plenty of capacity for daily and weekly rentals. WIFI is free but service has been spotty; cable TV is excellent and includes the full range of channels available. Single trash dumpster is somewhat inconveniently located near office. Pet areas are easily accessable from every site. Management is friendly, helpful and not caught up in rule enforcement except for the first rule which is to treat other campers with respect. Capital City RV park's WEB site needs improvement; it doesn't provide for on-line reservations and fails to list prices. Regardless, I highly recommend this park and will stay here again when in Montgomery AL. We camped here in a Motorhome.

New park, and owners seem a little clueless. After checking in, we grabbed a bite to eat, then went back to do laundry. When we got back the laundry was locked, it stays open during office hours of the cg. I would call it a family type campground, but there was no playground. There were a few long-term residents there, and one actually had a swingset they brought with them. It was hard explaining to my kids (2 & 5) that it wasn't the playground for the campground. The entry / exit signs were confusing. We had trouble finding their number as they weren't in our cg guides yet. It's (334)271-8063. We would stay here if in the area again. This is a new RV Park which opened in May 2004. Montgomery didn't have a nice RV Park till this one opened. They are still working on it but it's a very nice RV Park. The sites are level, wide and smooth. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is now run by AWA properties and does NOT have any amenities except basic cable TV is provided (no bath house/laundry). We loved it being close to shopping yet woodsy and out of site of traffic. We lived here fulltime for nearly a year. The electric is not metered: included in the rent. There are only 2 pull through sites. Mrs Watson still lives in big house behind park. I'd highly recommend this park for someone working in the Montgomery area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We talked to Mrs Watson, she is a very nice lady. Her park is small and most sites are full year round. We had to park in front of bed & breakfast rooms near pool. Sites were 30 amps with water only. Her park is on 88 acres (old farm). Short road in and out of park, one lane only, you can not pass on this road. Low trees are a small problem. Her bed & breakfast house is very nice, we would love to spend a night in B&B with her in future. Lot of new business people have moved into east part of Montgomery close to exit 11 on I-85. This has instantly become one of our favorite parks. Similar to a state park, this reasonably priced Army Corps of Engineers (COE) park is within a beautiful forested area around a lake. As previously posted, there are two major areas within this park. The older Antioch loop is more "rustic", with some sites not level and all without sewer, but it has its own charm and we wouldn't mind staying there at all. It is also limited to 30-amp service. Some of the sites we saw that were level, spacious and very nice even for large rigs were #97, #99 and #101 which are all near the lake. Also #88, #124 and #128 were nice, but not as close to the water. There are several other good ones. We stayed at the Catoma loop, which is newer with long concrete pads, full hookups and very generous spacing between sites. Overall this is a quiet and beautiful campground off the beaten path. Showers are clean, hot and powerful. There are laundry rooms with 2 washers and 2 dryers within each loop. There is only one short dedicated walking path, but the road is quiet enough that a long walk or bike ride around the park is easy. The nearest large grocery store is approximately 9 miles away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Be very careful about the previous reviews. There are two campgrounds. The full hookup loops (Catoma) are very good. Modern, level and clean. The other campground, 'Antioch Loop', is very basic. Many sites are not suitable for large rigs. Trees and obstacles make backing into sites difficult. The majority are not level. Gravel roads have large pot holes. Our leveling was at it limits. Check the site before booking. Otherwise it's a nice park. Good facilities and a good price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful COE campground. The sites are long, level, concrete, and there is a lot of natural beauty all around. The sites in Catoma loop (where we stayed) had 50amp electric, water, and sewer. We were able to get satellite, but once the trees leaf out fully it may be a little more difficult in some sites. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. We stayed here both on the way to and from a trip to another city in Alabama, and would definitely stay here again when in the area. Montgomery is about 20-25 minutes away, with lots of things to see and do. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is with federal Senior Pass. We absolutely loved this campground. We stayed in the newly remodeled loop and had FHU w/50 amp. It was wonderful. The sites are all paved and spacious. Some are on the river. A couple very short walking trails but the paved roads through the park offer plenty of walking space. We had good Verizon signal and several OTA TV signals. A very nice COE park that sets next to Catoma water way and this leads you into the AL river. The COE reworked this park and did a great job. Everything is all new. The sites are all cement, very long and wide, hundreds of feet on each side of the site, level, have 30/50 amp, water, sewer, BBQ cooked equipment, fire ring, light pole, and large table. Lots of sites are now pull through and some sites had to be 150 to 200 feet long. You could park anything in here. Sites are set on 45 deg. angle so very easy to back in. Tons of room in this park to walk or ride a bike. The park is locked at night so you need a code to get in. Staff was super nice as check in. We do not use the bathhouses but in checked them I found everything to be very clean, and setup for ADA use plus an AC system. Bathhouse had two washers and two dryers that cost .75 cents each. New playground equipment for the kids to use. Nice dump station. Park is dark at night. Verizon cell phone worked well with full bars, MiFi 4G had three bars. We had ten TV channels over the air. Sat. dishes will work on most sites but not all. Park is full of large pine, oak, and hickory trees. All the roads are new, wide and blacktop. The COE out did them self on this rework job. You may pick up a little jet noise off Maxwell AFB at times. I wish other parks were half as nice as this place. Rate per night was on our Golden Age card. Not a lot of places out here to buy anything so pack it in before you come. Super markets are around 18 miles one way. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The COE of has done a great job of renovating or should I say totally rebuilding the Catoma Loop. This loop had been open less than a month when we camped here. Every site has a large concrete pad. We stayed in site 27 in a 38' rig and literally could have parked two rigs the size of ours, trucks included, on our site. Many of the sites are pull-through type sites. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern post. Very easy access for big rigs. Camp hosts were quite friendly and helpful at check-in. We did not use the restrooms but they appeared to be brand new during a drive by. We did notice there were two each washers and dryers. There were two playgrounds to keep the children entertained. The COE has certainly raised the bar on the rebuild of this park, can only hope they use this model at other parks. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Half of the sites have just recently reopened after total renovation. All the new sites are huge. Some are over 100' long. Every new site has 50 amps and sewer hookups. Many are on the waterfront. Followed our GPS route and found the campground easily. Â Avoid the GPS planned route between Hayneville and US 80 (collapsing road shoulders jostled the camper) if coming in from points south from I-65. Â The earlier comment about the very poor neighborhood before entering the campground is a bit overstated. Â The Montgomery Speedway is, indeed, next door, but there were no races during our stay. Â Check-in was very efficient, hosts were friendly. Â We stayed in the Antioch Loop. Â The sites are fine gravel, with many back in sites very deep, and there were a few pull throughs. Â Some litter and grill cleanout efforts needed at the sites. Â Many sites are not level, especially laterally, but not uncorrectable. Â A few sites in the middle of the loop had some erosion issues. Â Some sites are far apart, while others are close to one another. Â Picnic tables, grill, and fire ring at each site. Â Waterfront means overlooking a flat, muddy backwater with a 15 foot dropoff clay bluff. Â Not that pretty. Â A few bugs, but it is June. Â Bathrooms were tiled, air conditioned, and very, very clean. Â Shower stalls each had new privacy curtains. Â Roadways could use new paving. Â Nice children's play area. Â No public source of Wi-Fi nearby. Â AT&T service picked up about one mile east on Old Selma Road. Â HDTV was superb, picking up at least 15 channel over the air, including all major networks and a nice all weather channel with regional radar. Â Camp hosts said the other loop would be reopening in mid June and would now have concrete pads with full hookups. Â If returning to the area, we would opt for the Prairie Creek COE campground about thirty miles west, where we stayed last year with outstanding views of the whole Alabama River, so we would not come here again. Â We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

One of the most beautiful COE parks we've stayed in. Small laundry, nice shower building, pretty sites, great for riding your bike in and around the park, shady, river access. We found the campsites to be large and well spaced. Our site was waterfront with an absolutely beautiful view on Catoma Creek and fall trees (oak and hickory) reflecting in the water. Everyday we saw herons and snowy egrets. Some sites may be challenging for big rigs. We called the campground directly and got some advice on selecting the site and were pleased. The price for seniors is hard to beat. The bathrooms are old and worn, but clean and were heated. The downside is that it takes 20-30 minutes to get to a grocery store. Our AT&T phones did not have a single bar. There is a paper mill nearby and sometimes the wind blows the odor in the direction of the campground. This park has two loops of camp sites. Roads are blacktop and gravel in some places due to old age. Park has the look and feel of a State Park not a COE Park. All sites are hard packed with small gravel and most are level. Did find a couple sites that were way off level. Nice views of water way from lots of sites. Coming into park a little past the gate house you have one long lane to park in and then check in. This is a plus and you are out of the road this way. Staff was nice at check in and helpful. This park is very heavy with trees. Sat. systems will not work on most sites. We could pick up a number of TV channels over the air, all poor. About ten miles back to Montgomery if you need more supplies. Site had 30/50 amps, water, table, fire ring, and the hook pole. Nice dump station on the way out of park. Nice play ground equipment for the kids. Park is very dark at night with very little lights, only at bathhouses. No noise in this park as you are in the middle of the woods. I will add that a very large auto race track is across the road that could be a noise problem and park may be full of people as well at times. Verizon cell and MiFi air card worked fair here. The price was due to Golden Age card. Gates are locked at 10:00 pm. I also agree the park needs some repair work and upgrades. The COE people needs to spend a little money here. It's about 8 miles from the interstate, but the highways and roads in are easily traveled, just be mindful of which way to turn. This is a COE campground that's getting close to needing some repair. The roads do not have potholes nor do the pads, but they are getting old and it is in need of mowing, which is unusual for a Corp park. It's very quiet and the Spanish moss hanging in the trees make it very nice looking. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campsite we stayed is now on our top 10 list! The campground is primitive to some extent in that we only got about 10 antenna TV channels and our Verizon phones and Wi-Fi Hot Spot worked 95% of the time! (Insert Happy Face here) At the entrance gate, ask to select your own site. If you like waterfront sites, these are some terrific ones to select from. We used Golden Age card, otherwise the rate is double. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park was well kept. Not a lot to do if you don't fish. Very rustic and primitive and more designed for the "roughing it" type of camper. Bring lots of mosquito repellent, especially in the evenings. Probably not the campground's fault but the previous occupant of our site apparently had a large dog who left lots of large "deposits" around the campsite. I probably wouldn't stay here again. We loved this park! The only down side is they didn't have sewer. But otherwise, it's really beautiful. Under huge trees, and our site was by the lake. We have a 40' motor home so the hosts were very nice to pick a different site than we'd been signed up for. They gave us #15, which actually shared with another one (16?), but because they were so joined at the hip, most people who were site-shopping thought they were just one site and went on by. So we got this huge spot all to ourselves! Felt very private and spacious. They also have a nice playground and 2 new-looking washers and 2 dryers (each only $1). Many folks bring their boats and use the park's boat ramp for fishing and lounging. We biked all over the park. It's a bit out of the way but in a quiet country setting and worth it! And how can you beat the price (with Golden Age Passport - senior discount)?! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this park by accident when we were having some work done on our tow dolly. It was a lovely park, a little off the beaten path but worth it. Sites are not all level and may take some maneuvering, but shady and ours was on the lake. Very quiet and the hosts at the gate were very nice and accommodating. We could only stay one night, but plan on making a trip back when we can stay longer and enjoy the surroundings a little more. Only gave it a seven because it did not have sewer hook up, but does have a dump station. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful COE park located within easy driving distance of Montgomery and Selma. Both cities have a wide variety of Civil Rights and Civil War sites worth visiting. Campground roads are accessible to large rigs and most of the sites are heavily treed ( our rooftop satellite dish did not work here ) They do lock the gate at night and if you arrive back after closing you will have quite a walk to your site. One word of warning. The Montgomery Motor Speedway is right next door and races occur on most weekends. It can be a bit noisy for a few hours. About half of the sites are held open for first come/first served arrivals. Reservations can be made for the others with no fees or charges being incurred. We stayed for a week over spring break and the place never got full. We would definitely stay here again. The area has a lot to offer for history buffs and nature lovers. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great campground! We will return when in this area. It is nicely laid out with plenty of room between camp sites. Tall trees with shade at nearly every camp site. Water access for boaters is available and many sites have water access. It is a great place to walk you dog and enjoy the country setting. We are seniors and the fee was only $9.00. We travel in a 40' coach with tow car and most camp sites would accommodate us without any trouble. There are only a couple of pull through sites but the campground is worth the trouble to unhook, if you need to do so. If you are looking for game rooms, pools, spas, planned recreation and activities, don't come. If you are looking for a beautiful setting, quiet camping, wooded area with lots of shade, big camp sites and friendly atmosphere, this is it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the Senior Pass rate. A typical Corps of Engineers campground, and I mean that in a good way. Sites are shaded by tall trees, many sites on the water, quiet, very scenic, friendly staff. Gunter Hill is not a bad park, just getting old and the lack of funds is showing. Our site (48) was a little beat up and in need of repairs. The bathrooms and showers were also in need of some care. I agree with the last person about the 'ants', we've never had any in the motorhome until at this location. We were in site 28 which looks out on the river. It was a nice large site with some trees but we were still able to get satellite. It's a bit remote but very peaceful. There is a hiking/biking trail through the woods. We had 50 amp service, but not a good 50 amp. Our digital amp monitor went off several times which doesn't happen with 50 amp. I would recommend this park when seeing the Montgomery sites as it's only about 15 miles out of the city! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spacious camp sites with lots of trees. The majority of sites are gravel back is with a couple of asphalt paved pull through sites. Each site has electric and water hookups, tables and metal pole with hooks for hanging lanterns (lights etc.). Clean camp ground and restrooms. Campground sprayed for mosquitoes. Also ants can be a problem. One complaint I had was some of the restroom sink faucets would not work. FYI: Each year the campground managers (host) bid for a position at COE campgrounds. Therefore a COE campground could change a little from year to year if a new manager is in place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here while visiting Montgomery. The park is very pretty as there are lots of big
trees (willows). The sites are pretty well spaced. The manager of the park seemed a little stern - making sure we followed all the rules (thus the lower rating). There are lots of roads for walking and some pretty trails between the camping areas. Note that part of the park is sometimes closed when hunting season is open for bow hunters. Campground is just off US 231 on the banks of the Tallaposa River, some sites have carport covers tall enough for any RV, but no longer than 30', narrow road down to the park, beware to swing wide on the left turn back up the road on leaving (we scratched our paint on some metal stantions hidden in the weeds), many permanent residents, this campground is nothing fancy, but we have had a pleasant stay both times we have stayed there for a week each time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Can you say Deliverance? Live and learn - I will never stay in a park without referring to RV Park Reviews again. This place was reviewed last in 2007 and nothing has changed. I did have 50 amp that worked fine, but there is nothing to recommend the park other than it is easy on and easy off the interstate, and there is a easy in and out diesel place outside the gate. The park was quiet, eerily so. Several mildew covered permanent trailers on either side. Close the door and turn on the AC. Glad to say good-bye. Very unfriendly dude checked us in. Stay away. Pretty trees, and the power worked, otherwise a zero. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Arrive at 7:30 PM, office stayed open until 8 PM. Person checking us in had started closing out his receipts for the day. He said he could not stop and that I would have to wait. Well, I waited for 20 minutes although there were several stages in his process that he could have stopped and not been disrupted. A former KOA CG. Old and dilapidated. The 30 Amp electrical outlet at assigned site did not work. I informed the manager who went to the breaker panel and started flipping breakers. Finally, power was restored to this outlet. I checked it for polarity and voltage (there is always a reason why the breaker trips), and satisfied all was correct, I plugged in my 30 to 50 Amp adapter (dogbone) and had power to the MH. I observed the receptacle was a very loose fit to the adapter plug. Next morning, as I was disconnecting, I discovered my adapter plug had partially melted and was stuck in the receptacle. With some effort, I was able to pull it loose. I inspected the receptacle and it looked to be partially melted and cracked. I informed the manager of the problem and the condition of the receptacle. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an old KOA site. Road into park O.K., roads to sites were full of mud due to light rain. Staff was very nice. No 50 amps and 30 amp. boxes are very old. This was the only place we could find for over night stop. I think Wal-Mart would be a better place to park. Montgomery was full of old history and nice to look at. We camped here in a camper.

If you just need a "parking lot" for your RV, this may suffice - but Zoiks, you could really do better. It seems not to be in a nice area of town. It is also not very tidy & they could do with a weed whacker. There was a decrepit plywood "stage" in the middle of the grass, which was splintering and had rusty nails everywhere... Of course my toddlers were attracted to that like flies, so I was envisioning tetanus shots in the ER before the day was done. (Thankfully, no puncture wounds actually occurred, LOL!). The bathrooms were perfectly nice, but the "playground" was one lifted from the nearby Burger King (no joke. It said Burger King) and it was a faded shambles. Oh, and the name "Woods" is simply the owned family's last name -- it is not treesy or woodsy in any way, just flat & fairly bare. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a dump. It is extremely overpriced for what is there. Check in was very, very slow. Interior roads are pea gravel and puddles. Sites are narrow but we fit in well enough for one night. If there was a convenient park to stay in other than this one we'd never return. It's on our route north. Many full time residents with junk piled everywhere around their sites. There was not a level of security at all. I hope we never have to return to this place, but fear we will have no choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice overnight stop for us: headed back to NC from Gulfport MS. Very nice park, well taken care of by owners. I notice that some thought the older lady in the office was a bit rude. Once the business was taken care of, she engaged in conversation with me and was very nice and helpful. I think she just might be one of those people who doesn't exude personality but is really a very nice person if you will take the time to warm up to her!! We will definitely stay here again. The showers/bathrooms (men and women) were very clean and neat looking. Had everything we needed! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here in years past and it was okay. But this year was much different. The electric power was bad, the circuit breakers on the 50 amp kept turning off and were hot, we had to keep resetting it. The cable at our site did not work either. It is clear they are not taking care of this campgrounds power needs and don't understand running 30 amp from a 50 amp cord. We left early because they would not give us the Passport America rate even with most of their sites empty. We will try them again in a year or two to see if they have fixed the campground up. Friendly staff. The park is lay-out of the park is excellent, with all pull through sites. The sites are a little narrow, with some having large pieces of concrete (used to be part of a road, stripes still on them) laying on the ground, with about 8-10" above ground. We have a bus with a front door, and they were not positioned so that we could use them as a patio, and have their hook-ups positioned close to the location on the coach. The drain is also about 10"-12" above ground level. OK, the negatives are out of the way. Excellent cable TV, and strong Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall this campground is really great. However, the location is not. The area is not the safest (the gas station next door gets robbed about twice a month). This park is a PA park. Very long pull throughs so easy in easy out. The older lady in the office was very rude and didn't want to be there. We ask for a site toward the rear and were put in the very front near the road noise. We later walked the park to find many sites in the rear that were vacant. The park was dusty and dry. However, when we returned the keys to the restroom in the morning another lady was very nice and friendly. Excellent cable selection and Wi-fi. My wife won't stay here again, but I would given it was in our route. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When looking for an RV Park for overnight, we look for Passport America, level sites, 50 amp, big rig access, enough room for 4 slides, and convenience to the highway/interstate. This park had all of this as well as excellent Wi-Fi included in the price. We would stop here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Convenient, quiet level park with much space to walk dog. Close to all replenishment needs. Large pond on grounds with shady area for a quiet walk. They give a Camp Club discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here overnight on our way home from Florida. There was a big storm moving in when we arrived, and the staff got us checked in quickly and due to the threat of tornados they gave us written instructions on where to go in case the warning siren went off. The campground is well laid out with all level pull-through lots. The WiFi and cable TV where excellent. We will stay here again when passing through the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is PA rate. This is an overnight stop only. Just a parking lot with pull throughs and a lake at the back of the property. No woods except around the park! It is easy on/off freeway, and a TA across the street, not a good area of Montgomery. Staff was very friendly and helpful, except the older lady who acts very put out by you. WiFi didn't work. Sloppy when it rains and has many long term, construction workers, etc. Key didn't work well in the bathhouse. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here about 3 years ago under Passport America and had a pleasant experience. The park is conveniently located to interstate 65. We decided to use it again. I was surprised that they do not accept Passport on the weekends anymore. This was made very clear by the lady in the office when she pulled out her guide from under the counter with it opened to the highlighted page. I have a 2009 version which does not mention this. She did not indicate that the rules had changed; instead she told me that I had misread the book. Later she acknowledged that they had recently changed the rules. The sites are very long, but narrow. For example, the fire pit of our neighbor is under our slide. The roads are all dirt and dusty. This was made worse when the park decided to cut the sparse grass next to our site to spruce it up for an expected arrival. Dust was flying all over our coach, but they indicated that they did not care, and no RV washing allowed even thought they were the ones getting the coach dirty. We could not check out the washrooms as they were locked. We were not offered a key. We will be back in the area within a couple weeks but will not stay here again. We would not describe this as a friendly park. We are full timers and on the road almost 4 years. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here one night while traveling. I think the roads must have been scraped as they weren't too bad. Felt very comfortable here. The woman I talked to was still in the office at 7:30PM when I arrived, and she came down and helped me into my site. I really appreciated that as I could not read the site numbers. The Wi-Fi was very good. Would stay here again for a day or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here two nights. We were greeted warmly by the staff. The campground was less than 33% full. Quite a few permanents whose sites were not well kept. The roads are dirt and the sites gravel. I would have given it higher marks but the roads through the campground were in very poor condition. Almost as bad as I-65 out of Birmingham. The roads really need to be scraped and the pot holes (one reportedly swallowed a VW), filled in. I would not stay here again unless it was a convenient waypoint in our journey from point A to point B. The nearest trees were in another zip code. Pros: it had great Wi-Fi and cable TV and was easy to find. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America Daily Rate. This RV Park is located just off Interstate 65 and near many fast food outlets. Good Wi-Fi and Cable TV with good sized washrooms. Friendly staff and for the price a great deal. Good for overnight or short stay, not a long term park as it has no activities and pretty barren as it has no trees. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very good for overnight stop or longer if you need to be in the Montgomery area. Friendly staff, pull through sites, Cable TV and Wi-Fi, clean restrooms: what more could you want? Stayed here in December 2009 and January 2010 on our way to and from Florida. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good location for us to visit Tuskegee and far enough off the Interstate to avoid road noise. It was rainy weather when we arrived, and were told to chose an RV site, either one of three. By the next morning it was still wet, but the gravel was easy to walk on. Office staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and easy RV park to get into and out of. All in all a good few-nights' stay RV park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We spent a week here on our way down to Florida. Aesthetically, it wasn't much to look at. It had been raining when we arrived and the water puddled up really bad on the grass next to our site. I had to be careful where I stepped or else I'd be ankle deep in red clay mud. The bathrooms were clean and the laundry was decently priced. We met one of the owners and she was very sweet. The park is very convenient to the freeway and some fast food places, but not in a very good part of town. We would stay here again, but not for a week. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is great for an overnight. No shade, so I'm not too sure where they got the name, but the park was clean, with level sites, easy in and out, plenty of room to stay hooked up. Hosts were very friendly. We would stay there again when passing through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here on our way to Gulf Shores. Great for overnight stay. Park is barren of trees, so it would be pretty hot in the summer, but all the sites are well laid out and pull through. Wi-Fi and cable TV were excellent. They have recently upgraded their Wi-Fi. Owner and her daughter were very personable and polite. There are places to eat within walking distance, which was great for us as we did not want to unhook the 5th wheel just for one night. Rate is for Camping Club USA. We will definitely stay here again next time we are passing through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient location. Unfortunately we picked up ants on our lot that took us 5 days to get rid of. OK for overnight stay. Saw owner's son trying to get rid of stray dog by shooting it with a rock rocket gun. Would prefer they just call dog pound or take the dog to pound. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for one night on the way to Florida. I had called to reserve two sites and after talking to the lady on the phone discovered that we could not make reservations with the use of Passport America. She told me there should not be a problem. When we checked in and showed our Passport America card we were told that it was not accepted on Friday night. She immediately got a PA book that was opened to their page and yellow hi-lighted to show PA was not valid on weekends. The park was okay but the staff, which was only one person, was not very friendly. Hopefully will not have to use this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had previously stayed at The Woods and found it to be a friendly park. When we arrived for this stay we actually were given the very same site. Our experience this visit was not as favorable for the following reasons: 1. Poor drainage on the site. When it rains the water has nowhere to go and pools. 2. The voltage on the site when we visited the second time was very low. Our meter stayed in the red area. The voltage was about 106 volts. When the air conditioners very running they were straining. Since it was very hot our air ran all the time. The wiring seemed inadequate. 3. Wifi was very low signal at times disappearing. Our issue with both the electricity low voltage and the "disappearing wifi" brought a response that it must be us because they had even had an electrician check the electricity just the week before our visit and everything was fine. As for the wifi, we have 2 laptops neither of which could consistently maintain a signal. We also have a desktop with an external wifi antennae and even it was sporadic. The sites are long and are pull throughs which is good. Exiting the park onto the busy roadway and construction in the area takes patience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the friendliest campgrounds we've visited across the country (and we are fulltimers). Worse right now because of construction at I 65. The campground is owned, managed and maintained by a family who do so with care. We appreciated their friendliness and welcoming spirit. The campground is conveniently located off I 65 at exit 168 just across the road from a TA Travel Center. The only drawback here is that it takes patience to get back across the highway if you are going to go onto I 65. The park has large pull through sites that are graveled and pretty level. We had quite a bit of rain so water was standing in spots. The WiFi service was wonderful. Cable TV with great stations. Nice park. We will definitely be back. Would recommend to all. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First impression: what woods? Campground is completely open & unshaded (though tall trees on west of property do give some late-afternoon shade to some sites.) Sites are very level & gravelled, with grassy areas between. There is a fishing pond at the south end, and all utilities worked well. Owner is continually upgrading - this park is only 5 years old. Owner very friendly. Bathhouse & laundry fairly new & basic, but clean. Utilities, cable & Wifi worked well. A few sites are really long, at least 80-100 feet in length, for truly big rigs, double-towing, etc. Gas & fast food nearby. Convenient to I-65 but left-hand turn out of campground across busy 4-lane road may mean a bit of a wait on departure. Some road noise from I-65, not too bad. Good overnighter. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a good campground for a short stay at the Passport America rate. If you need to stay longer the weekly rate is very reasonable, $115 + tax for 30 amp service. There are quite a few permanent park residents staying at this RV park. This is not what you would call a pretty park, but serves it's purpose as a secure place to stay at a reasonable price. The free cable TV had a good signal and included HBO and Showtime as a bonus. The wifi worked well, but I requested a site with a good signal and was put close to the office. I'm not sure how well it would have worked way out by the fishing lake. The laundry facility was clean and had 3 newer washers and 3 newer dryers. The managers/staff were very friendly. I would stay here again. Please be advised that 50 to 30 amp adapters and autoformers are not allowed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very friendly and helpful owners live on site. The park is gravel, dirt and grass. Sites are level. They don't allow you to step down to 30 amp if your rig is 50 amp due to problems with electric connections. Which means you pay for 50amp even if you don't really need it. Not too much of a problem since this is a Passport America park and has a reasonable rate. Water was good. It could use some landscaping upkeep. Convenient to interstate but no noise from the highway. Nice stocked pond for fishing on site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall a very pleasant park. We will absolutely stay here again. Right from the minute you walk through the door the owners make every effort to make you feel comfortable. Sites are all pull throughs and very long, wide and accommodating. This IS a big rig park! You are escorted to your site. Laundry and restrooms are always clean. We had no problems with our electricity and we have a surge processor that would have indicated high or low current. We felt at home and secure. Sites were as close to level as I have seen in my travels through 33 states. Small stock pond at the rear of the park. Check out a movie, it's free, and relax. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed here during a hurricane evacuation, and the owner/operators were very helpful getting me to the campground under hectic driving conditions. They even helped me find the stores I needed to get supplies for the trip back. Staff was very friendly, it's family owned and operated. I am a new full timer so they helped me get a Good Sam card and then discounted my rate to the GS rate. All the sites were pull through and offered cable, along with Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is semi restricted, so only slight drawback. The washroom and bathrooms are very clean and well kept. Overall it's a very nice friendly park and would stay here again. It has several restaurants within walking distance I think 5 or 6 with in 3 blocks, mostly fast food. There was also a very large park on the next exit up, which was very nice for walking about or for families. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great stopping point off of the interstate. The sites are long enough for a big rig and a toad and are fairly level. The 70 or so cable channels worked good too. Bath house was large and clean. Men's had 3 full size shower stalls, but only one commode stall. The operators were very friendly and helpful with any questions. They had free movies & books that you could "check out" at the office. Laundry facilities are also available. There is no shade. Another drawback is that there are a lot of locals (possibly transient workers) living in the park and they are always using the bath house & laundry. The interstate noise was minimal. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Previous posts are accurate, but we had trouble with electric power. Voltage was too high, 128 volts or more, and as a result our protection circuits in our coach kept shutting off the power. I was able to stop this from happening only by moving my electric cord from 50A to 30 service. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great 'pass-through' park! Right off I-65, and very close to I-85, but even as close as the major roads are, trees around the edge of the park blocks a good deal of the road-noise. Every site is pull-through, with FHU and 70 some-odd cable channels, and they are all reasonably level. WiFi has been recently updated with more routers, and signal is now good throughout most of the park. The only bummer is: no shade. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good overnight stop for visiting Montgomery. Near I-65 but no noise from it. Friendly owner. Could use some upkeep. Piles of dirt around, and grass needed mowing. All pull through sites. Several local worker rigs present but it wasn't an issue. Not a pretty park but a good parking spot. Nice shelter for use. Passport America rate for the 3 nights we stayed was good. You do pay extra for 50amp but this also moves you back in the park further, nearer the fish pond. Stocked fish pond to use if you'd like. Nice place to walk the dog beside the pond. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is convenient to I-65. It was only about half full during our visit and appeared that some were longer term residents. All of the RV's were well maintained and the grounds appeared to be undergoing renovations. There is a new picnic pavilion and child's play area. The restroom/laundry facility and office building appeared to be relatively new. All of the sites are pull throughs. There are no shaded sites. There is a large amount of open space around the perimeter of the park for a dog walk and a small pond. A good overnight stop and a Passport America Park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park is conveniently located to I-65 and since most of their sites are pull through, it is a good place for a one night stay. Most of the residents of the park appear to be long term but there are not many old and junky campers. The Wi-Fi is free and worked fine for us though we were parked fairly close to the office. Nice big, level full hook up pull through sites, very clean bathhouse and great laundry with all new machines. The four-days that we were there the wifi worked about 20% of the time and it was a very poor signal. About a ten-minute drive from downtown Montgomery and attractions (easy on & off for the freeway). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay here again when in the area. Be sure to get a key for the bathhouse when you check in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After being treated badly at another campground (I am going to be staying for a long term) where one of the owners (of the other campsite) felt that they got enough business that niceties such as decent attitude and behavior was not required. I had to find another campground while my husband was driving it down to meet me. Talked with a lady at the Woods. She was a breath of fresh air compared to the other campground. She was so nice, that I agreed to stay here sight unseen. It is nice to know that there are still decent people in the world. I needed to know that I was going to be safe, and that access to Wi-Fi was there. She went out and surveyed her lots to find one that would meet my needs, even before I had agreed to stay there! When we said that we were going to be late: she said that she would stay open and wait for us! What service! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here overnight and found it a very friendly campsite, the site was pull-through and very big, we were able to get LP gas on site and while staying found in their campsite brochure a mechanic to service our RV next morning, I know this is about campsites but we had been having trouble getting a mechanic to do a service without making a booking of usually a week in advance, this mechanic shop opened at 8.30am and serviced our RV within one and a half hours and put us back on the road happy and ready to move on, if we ever go through Montgomery we will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff here is friendly. We stopped here overnight because it was in the Passport America book. Half of the regular $25 rate is $12.50, but they added on $5.00 for 50 amp service. I pulled in at 5 pm and left at 7 am and used one A/C for about two hours. The $5 surcharge is NOT mentioned in the Passport book or web directory, and it's excessive. The Wi-Fi was very spotty and so slow it was unusable. At $13 for an overnight stop, it's worthwhile, but not at $18. We'll go elsewhere on our next trip in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent one night at this park as a stop over on the way home. It is basically an open field with gravel sites and full hook-ups. It is nothing special-just adequate. I can't imagine why anyone would stay more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A work in progress. Very friendly and family run. A new bathhouse and laundry is very nice. The office modem was very convenient. Large cable selections. I do think it is misnamed as there is not a tree to be seen. The entrance could be improved by moving the old units to the back, instead of them being the first thing you see as you drive in. I almost turned around and left because of the look. I'm glad I stayed and gave it a chance. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Here's the good: 72 channels of cable TV free. Very clean facilities, friendly people, open sky for satellite dishes. But this place is very like a large urban parking lot/truck stop with grassy patches added. When we opened the windows at night, the breeze was cool, but it smelled of nothing but the deep fat fryers from the fast-food restaurants all around us. Traffic noise is constant. Wifi is free but very inconstant, as is water pressure. I honestly can't see staying here except for a swift overnight unless you really had to be in Montgomery for business or medical needs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We used Passport America to get the $13 nightly rate. The campground is convenient for a stopover. All of the sites are pull-throughs. Wi-Fi is available at an additional charge. The day we stayed there it had just rained and the space between the sites was very muddy but the parking spaces were still very firm. Spaces are quite close together but since it is a large campground it is probably not full very often. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed five (5) nights and had no problems. Park is 1/8 mile East I-65 between Arbys & BP gas station Good stopover park. Would enjoy staying again in warmer weather. Bathrooms were clean and nicely heated. Nightly rate was $22.50 with Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
