Campground has 3 pay coffin type showers, and small restrooms that are overused with so many campers. One of the two toilets in the men's restroom was backed up and not fixed in a timely fashion. Laundry is expensive. Outlying outhouses are disgusting. Although we stayed in a tent cabin, which was down a steep hill with a poor trail, we normally travel in an RV. Rv spaces were close together and short. They had the RVs crammed into every possible place, making maneuvering difficult. Roads are narrow. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

This campground is 6 miles south of the park. Most campgrounds in this area are that far out. We were told they had free WiFi. You do, for 1/2 hour for your entire stay. If it is one day or one week, you get 1/2 hour. Cable TV is via your antenna, and it does not come in. The spaces are not long, but it was empty so we had room. The office staff does seem new and does not speak clear English, so don't expect help on the area. We ask if we could have a later "checkout" and were told we would have to pay a 1/2 day rate to do it. They were more concerned about the bus tours they have, staying in their hotel here. Bus's were in and out a lot. The sewer dump is set up so you have to back into it. Not possible with our 40'. We would not stay here, but the National Park next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were placed in pull through site number 32 which did not turn out to be a pull through. The equipment was on the wrong side of our 36 foot trailer and we had to back out more than 100 yards upon leaving. It appears that this park should be restricted to small rigs only. It is far too small and tight. Even the dump station was misplaced. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Terrible place to stay. Just a gravel/mud parking lot, behind a strip mall of shops. Rental units which border the campground were full of young kids who partied all night long. Very noisy. Do not stay here. Nice, quieter place about 5 or so miles down the road, and it is cheaper! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Staying here is all about the location, not what the campground has to offer. The sites are narrow, barely wide enough to support dual side slides in side-by-side sites. Some sites aren't very level, off enough that my air leveling system could not level my coach. They have two water systems, one well and one trucked in water. Our water was just fine. A couple sites that they made full service should not have had sewer due to the length of the run. Our site was just fine. You are 1 mile from the national park, right next to the shops and eateries. This park is as good as the parks that are 10 miles away. I would stay here again, even with its short comings. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were here in a caravan, so I cannot be sure of the cost per night. Located right in the middle of the commercial area of Denali, this park is convenient to everything, but it is very tight. We had a 30 amp and water hook-up, no sewer. It is noisy, because it is behind a strip mall and next to a rafting company. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park gets a 3 only due to its location. The office staff was nice but everything else pretty much stinks. The campground is small and cramped. We had a back in sight RIGHT behind the strip mall. We were 5 feet or less from the trash cans of the business behind us. Our neighbor was about 6 inches from a large propane tank. It was also loud late and very early the next morning due to the businesses behind us. We stayed one night because we wanted full hook up before going into Denali with no hook ups. We would have never stayed otherwise. I just want others to know what they're getting in to. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is on a bluff that has a generator for it's electricity. Your clocks will have the wrong time. Ours were about 20 minutes behind the correct time the next morning. Good thing we used our cell phone for the alarm. They do not have cable TV as they state. If you go just down the road a couple of miles you can get all services for less money. This place is a joke. If we had not been in a caravan we would not have stayed here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I gave this a 5 because I felt the price was way too high for what they offered. $40 is on the high end of just about every park in Alaska (aside from Homer spit) and they generally have FULL services. This had no TV or cable, showers were coin op (a quarter for so many minutes) no septic. Nothing really other than electric. (That is run off of a generator, so make sure you have surge protection.) That being said, it's one of the nicer ones in the park area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate reflects a 10% Good Sam discount. We stayed at this park because we could not get into Riley Creek Campground, our original plans, in Denali National Park. It is about eight miles from the park entrance. We had seen it on the way to the park and it looked much better than the alternatives in the area. The couple running the park is incredibly nice and helpful. It was an extremely hot day and we did find a site with a little shade, but most sites are in the open. The power was strong and there is basic TV cable. They have Wi-Fi but we could not get it to work for us. Our Verizon Data MiFi worked OK so we did not need the camp Wi-Fi. Our Verizon phone had a strong signal. The site was very small, but not a problem since we have a small motorhome. The park is fine, except for the proximity to the highway. It is right on the very busy highway with lots of noise, even though we had a site further back and with some vegetation. Even with that, if we wanted a full-hookup site near the park we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 nights. Park is typical of many Alaska private parks. With a 40ft MH we had just enough room for slides but we were comfortable after setting up camp. The pull-thru had full hook ups with 50amps and worked great. The WiFi was very good. The staff was very friendly. We were happy with the dog walk service at $10/2 walks during the day. Think the dog was happy also. We were glad we opted for this park after seeing what the other private parks in the area had to offer. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This park is your basic park -- there is little shade and the sites are close together. When we were there it was not crowded, so we had plenty of room, but when the park gets full it will feel cramped. However, it is very convenient to Denali NP and that is why we stayed. All of the services worked very well, including WIFI. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and they even offer a dog walking service where they will come to your RV and walk your dog twice for $10. This is especially useful when you are taking the bus ride into Denali NP and will be gone all day. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects senior access pass. We originally reserved Savage River, but it wasn't open - too much snow. Even Riley had one closed loop and the middle loop was snow covered. We picked a site in Bear loop as it had less snow. Basic dry camping. The dump was frozen, though they had it open before we left. We stayed two nights. The loops are well planned and the park staff very helpful. Showers at the check in store cost four bucks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent four nights here. It was a great base for exploring the park. The bus stops at the campground. The campground was neat and clean. There were ranger programs and walks available. The best halibut and chips we found in Alaska were at Denali Nat'l Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice dry quiet campground 15 miles into the park. We preferred this to Riley, due to the noise from the park entrance. Moose and grizzly bears and other wildlife passed through the CG. Has a good view of Mt. Denali when it occasionally emerges. Be careful of the large pull through sites. The curve of the site and the 4x4 timbers along the edges can fool you. I should have backed into mine, rather than pulling in. Wound up moving the 4x4 just to park. (Shhh!) Rate based on Golden Age pass. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved the short walk to the river and the nearby hiking trails. Of course, none of the campgrounds in Denali have power or water, but the scenery more than makes up for the inconvenience. We saw beautiful sunsets, and there was almost no sky brightness and plenty of wildlife. We saw snowshoe hairs and a vole near the river. The campsites were closer together than I liked but still private. They had back-in sites for shorter rigs and a series of arc-shaped pull-through slots for longer rigs. Our pull-through was not very level, but it was easy enough to get in and out of. The flush toilets were rustic but clean. Bear-proof trash cans were located at the sites, and there was water available nearby. It was not really wilderness camping, but you did feel as though you were out in the middle of the wild. Our campground host was very friendly and helpful, and a ranger gave a lecture two out of the three nights we were there. The one downside of our location was that it was a long drive to everywhere. The only showers and the dump station were at Denali’s Riley Creek Campground at the bottom of the mountain (15-20 minutes away). The laundry room at Riley Creek looked excellent, but we didn’t use it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It was nicer than expected for a crowded camp in a secluded area. Although the sites are quite close, there is some vegetation (little spruce trees) for separation and the area is gorgeous. The restrooms were new (2011) and very clean. We stayed there at the beginning of August and it was quite cold, specially during the night. Make the reservation quite in advance as it is normally full booked. From the campground you save one hour one way in your trip further into the park so it is worth it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a wonderful camping site, right on the Teklanika River. Primarily it was so nice because it was the campground that was the further-est inside Denali that a person could take a vehicle and camp. Although people can camp at campsites that are further into the park, they must pack all their gear and ride on camper buses and basically use back pack camping. At Teklanika there were RVs and tent campers. Also, when you camp there you purchase ONE "TEK" pass which allows you to go further west on a shuttle bus EACH DAY that you are camped there. It is a really good financial deal within the part to use for shuttle transportation. This type of camping is like camping in U.S. Forest Service campgrounds- quiet and peaceful. There are no showers available at this campground, so use them at Riley Creek before coming to Teklanika. There is a minimum 3-day camping time at this time. We wished we had stayed longer! We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This is the "end of the road" campground in Denali, at least as far as you can drive your own rig (30 miles into the park). It's a dry camping option, but the campground has very nice vault toilets so you won't fill up your blackwater tank needlessly. Water spigots are available, but not to fill your freshwater tank. The sites are level and far enough apart that the sites have some separation from the neighbors. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Generator use or vehicle idling to charge house batteries is limited to 8-10am and 4-8pm each day. You must stay here 3 days minimum (or at least pay for 3 days when you register). The only time you can drive back towards the entrance is when you leave the park. When you register, be sure to also request a "Tek Pass", it's a bus pass for the park shuttle system that will take you further into the park for sightseeing and animal viewing. You pick a destination to visit your first full day in the park. You will have a guaranteed seat on the bus that day, the Tek pass is also good each day thereafter for space available bus seats. When you leave the park, there are a group (4) free dump stations/fresh water fills at the Riley Creek Mercantile at the park road entrance. The mercantile also has a store, showers, and a laundromat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
