This campground is dry camp only so come prepared. The Pros are that it's a beautiful campground and not to far from Banff. If you like trains, one runs close enough to the campground you feel like your part of it. There are lots of great trails, wildlife and creek. Cons: It's too much money for dry camping. If you want a fire they supply the wood and you pay $8.40 per night, and the daily pass for this park is $19.60 on top of everything else. So if you want to stay one night with a fire it's $56.40 per night to dry camp Next time, if there is one, we probably will bypass staying in the Park and opt for a daily drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The 'full' signs were up for the 'Pushme-Pullyou' sites in Lake Louise Trailer but the friendly attendant looked at our seventeen foot trailer and suggested we set up in the tent area. That area is surrounded by an electric fence and electric Texas gate to keep the Grizzly Bears out but turned out to be tight but suitable for some smaller rigs. Our small trailer and F150 Supercrew just managed to squeeze in between the trees. Washrooms and showers are very clean and the outdoor theater is a short walk away. We also had an interesting self employed sculptor from Germany in a tent with two girls behind us. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The RV Park is part of the Parks Canada system. We arrived with a reservation and found the camp staff to be accommodating and friendly. We waited in line for approximately 20 minutes to check-in. On weekends and holiday periods you can expect to wait in line 30-60 minutes, even if you have a reservation. We were assigned a pull-through site that was approximately 90 feet long, gravel and level. All sites are side-by-side with another RV camper next to and facing the opposite direction. All RV sites are big rig accessible, pull-through, gravel, and level. Hook-ups were electric (30 amp) only with good voltage. No water or sewer at camp sites. The RV dump station has six separate dump sites, is located near the entrance to the RV Park and has excellent access with easy entrance and exit. Some sites have fire rings for which you will be charged an additional $8.80 per night for a campfire permit that also includes firewood. The RV Park is located in a dense forest that provides a lot of shade; our site had sun in the morning and shade in the afternoon. The bathroom / shower building had five showers for each gender. All had modern fixtures with tile walls and floors. The shower stalls were large with a separate changing area. The women’s bathroom / shower building was very dirty, had mildew in the corners and had a musty smell. During our stay the women’s bathroom sewer system backed-up into the showers and sinks and was out of service for one day. The men’s bathroom / shower building was clean and well ventilated. There are also several small bathroom buildings with toilets and sinks throughout the RV Park. The RV Park is next to the Bow River and walking distance to the Lake Louise Village and Samson Mall. Lake Louise, the Lake Louise Chalet and hiking trails are a 10 minute drive. Moraine Lake and the Moraine Lake Lodge and hiking trails are a 20 minute drive. The RV Park is close to Highway 93 and there is some highway noise. A railroad line is also very close and creates a lot of noise throughout the day and night. Bears are a small problem and a clean camp is important. WiFi is available at the Lake Louise Village and Samson Mall for a fee. We stayed four nights and paid $32.30 per night, not including taxes. Parks Canada also charges a daily park entry fee of $19.60 for each vehicle in the Banff and Jasper National Parks, in addition to RV Park fees. An annual park pass is $136.40. A fire permit is required to have a campfire and costs an additional $8.80 per day, including firewood. This is a very popular area and reservations are highly recommended. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Large heavily wooded sites with close access to a hiking trail along a beautiful mountain river. Most sites are suitable for big rigs. The bathrooms and showers were reasonably clean for the heavy use they get. This is a busy park, and there are likely to be lines at check in and at the dump station. You can walk to the Lake Louise Townsite. There are hiking trails along the river that start from the campgrounds but some were closed due to bear activity. If at all possible it would be a good idea to have reservations if visiting in July or August. They do keep a few sites available for 1st come, 1st serve. The campground was completely full every night we were there. We really enjoyed this area and campground and stayed 7 days. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Poor check-in service. Arrived and had to wait 30 minutes to check in, we had booked in advance. Sites are not private and felt more like a parking lot. Really did not feel like we were in the mountains here. Sites are gravel. Loads of bathrooms, no problem there. Minimal showers and they are very much needed as there is only electric available, no water/sewage available on the sites. Fire pits are limited and in small quantity, so disappointed we could not sit around a fire when the nights cooled down. Beautiful surrounding area. If you're visiting the area you're not going to have a lot of choices as to where to stay, this is pretty much it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great campground for tents and small RVs. Heavily treed sites. Only one site was big enough for our 40' MH, and we had to back part of the way out of the campground(!). A few sites are on the river. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Breathtaking view from the campsite overlooking Tunnel Mountain and the Bow River Valley. Had elk, mule deer and Columbian Ground Squirrels in and coming through the campground. It was not real busy, so very quiet and comtemplative. Facilities are clean, well-kept. The staff at the registration station were very friendly and helpful. We recommend highly. Thanks, Banff National Park, for your great facility. It's great to be in Canada, eh? We camped here in a Motorhome.

No Wi-Fi. Nice level pull throughs, but half of the campground is closed due to renovation (already almost for 2 years). So be sure if you want full hookups to be there early. The renovation will take much longer, and they put loose gravel everywhere so when we were there in a dry spell in the renovated area (if open!) you cannot see your neighbors when people drive around. Old section is great and with tar streets, much better. We would stay in the old section without a doubt. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff very friendly and informative. It looks like all sites are pull through and level, paved drive in and gravel parking. Stayed in site 342, the sites are huge and level. About a long mile from downtown Banff, very easy access to and from campground. For those who like to hike, this is the place: trails to Banff and around campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a great mountain view site. Our site was large. We are 54 feet long and had room to spare front and back. Parking is basically along the side of the road with an electric hookup. The bathrooms and showers were reasonably clean for the heavy use they get. This is a busy park, and there are likely to be lines at check in and at the dump station. You can walk to Banff or there is a bus that comes by the campground about every hour. There are hiking trails that start from the campgrounds. We were lucky to get a site without reservations in August, but if at all possible it would be a good idea to have reservations if visiting in July or August. They do keep a few sites available for 1st come, 1st serve. The campground was completely full every night we were there. Not all sites are created equal, ask for a site on the outer perimeter if available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I am amazed at how well run this RV area is, considering the high volume of people coming through this area. Sites are minimalist. You parallel park on pavement with your awning over a gravel sitting area. Many sites have fire pits. Washrooms were clean with plentiful free showers. Love the area and this RV site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is not a campground but a parking lot! You don't pull-through; you pull over to side of street. You have an RV about 10 ft. in front of and in back of. Felt like a hiway rest area. Lots of noise, kids, and trains at night. Electric only. Beat up old table with lots of cigarette butts, pull tabs, etc., on ground. Won't stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful! National park camping at its best! Warm days and cold nights so pack accordingly especially if tenting. Firewood is available if you buy a permit. We had our choice of camping in an area of the campsite all alone but opted to camp in the same area as others as it made us a little nervous to camp alone in bear country! Close to the Banff Hot Springs which are worth checking out if you have never experienced springs. We also found a tasty Mexican restaurant downtown that was great and gave us a night off of cooking. We camped here in a Tent.

Very nice park which offers large sites, fire pits, good and dry wood and showers for free. If you take a site with fire pit you automatically pay a higher amount because of the wood - you can take as much as you want. We enjoyed our 2 night stay pretty much and would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We found this campground utilizing the Big Rigs Best Bets Book. We have a 45' coach and we fit easily into this well established park. Elk roam the park freely and there are many sites with excellent elbow room and some sites with terrific views. You may want to unhook and pick a site first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The best campground in Banff National Park. In a quiet setting away from the busy town yet still within a close distance to the city center. Clean, warm washrooms. Good wheelchair accessibility. At times at dusk elk can be seen grazing in the campground. If you want to stay here make sure to arrive early because it fills up fast. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
