Great RV park. Passport America. Great pool, concrete pads, paved streets, wifi, nice people, great location. We have stayed here many times and always enjoyed ourselves. Garbage pickup all day. All for PA rates, you can't beat this part. Near Cottonwood, Sedona, and Jerome. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My plan was to spend a full month at this RV Park. Instead I stayed just one night. Since my last visit a year ago, an enormous towering Las Vegas style neon sign, advertising the casino, has been installed. An unacceptable eyesore for me and considerable night time neon light pollution. It is absolutely incredible how such an attractive RV Park can have such remarkable unleveled concrete sites. There are a few level sites and none were available for me. Most Motorhome owners may not realize the damaging stress an unleveled concrete site inflicts on the chassis. The Wi-Fi is poor, the pool is extremely small and an overnighter must ask a staff member for a key to the restroom. Those restrooms are closed when you most need a restroom. By first appearance the sites look spacious. They are not spacious once your neighbors move-in. I think the next time Good Sam inspects this place they may want to actually walk around and look at the sites. Stayed here one night, and I will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great location for seeing Jerome, Cottonwood, Sedona and parks. Sites were fairly level on concrete slabs with easy hook-ups including sewer. Clean - well maintained park. Staff are helpful with tour information, directions and questions. Road noise can be an issue if you are sensitive to that. The Wi-Fi was strong most of the time. Weather in Williams forced us to stay past a week and we did get a 7th day free. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were guided to a pull-in site that sits literally on the edge of a canyon, providing a great view of the surrounding mesas. Small grassy areas on both sides of the site. Beautiful green native shrubs on the edge of the precipice. I was concerned that the automatically levelers might leave me with a wheel or two off the ground, so I manually leveled it satisfactorily. A number of other coaches had at least one wheel airborne. Virtually no road noise at this site, but the A/C is running most of the day. Only one WiFi device access code was provided. Water pressure was marginally low, but I didn't catch that until completely set up. Later, I mentioned it in passing to a gentleman that works here. He immediately addressed it. We don't use the pool, clubhouse, etc., in parks, but we did walk through. I noticed 2 residentially style BBQ's, complete with propane, that appear to be available to guests. Don't know if that's typical, but it is just one of the things that separates a park from a resort. This is a resort: but rather contradictory at times. There are a number of sites where a concrete patio is provided, but the RV is parked on dirt. Most other sites are concrete slabs with patios. There were also side by side hook-ups in some areas of the park. We really liked our site and feel very fortunate to have gotten it. We will make sure on future visits to avoid the sites with the less desirable features. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is fantastic! I felt out of place with a travel trailer covered with 1200 miles of bugs and dirt! Beautifully landscaped, great check-in, helpful people. I could see staying here for at least a couple of weeks. The only thing lacking for a '10' rating was freeway noise and the light pollution from a huge LED billboard for a casino across the freeway. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our rate reflects the Good Sam discount. This was a nice, clean park to stay in. We had an escort to our site. We appreciated the cable TV and the free WiFi. It is just a short drive (under 10 minutes) to Montezuma's Castle National Monument, which is worth a visit. The casino will send a shuttle to pick you up & bring you back on the 3 minute ride, even if you just want to go over for dinner as we did. The restrooms & laundry were spic and span! We would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very good motor coach location. Clean and well kept. The WIFI is limited to 1 device at a time, which is very inconvenient. The cable is barely acceptable. The shower, laundry and exercise facilities were great. Although the location is next to the interstate highway it is pretty quiet here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 18 nights at this delightful park. Very clean and tidy park, clubhouse and facilities which include an exercise room. Good paved roads, staff very helpful and friendly. They have group bookings but this is not a problem at all, we had no problems at all with noise. There is a certain amount of low traffic noise from the I-17, however being close to the I-17 makes it very convenient. The park is excellent for visiting Sedona and the surrounding area. This is one of the best parks we have stayed at so far and will certainly use again. We have only given it 9 out of 10 as the one downside is that the wifi/internet is poor but we are told that this is a work in progress so we are hoping it will be better by our next visit. A lovely stay here in a beautiful part of the USA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Roads are paved, concrete sites, mostly gravel (not dusty) everywhere else. Power, water pressure, hookup layout, cable, Wi-Fi, landscape and facilities are fine. It's a busy place and back-ins in the middle rows are close, but it's a unique layout and not confining. Staff is always busy for the betterment of the grounds. We'll be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Absolutely beautiful RV park, convenient to the Cliff Castle casino, Sedona, and all attractions. The staff were wonderful, the bathrooms/showers/laundry room/gym all spotlessly clean and beautiful. There was a lovely little dog park with ground up gravel making it easy to clean up after your dog. The pool area is attractive even though it was closed - but the hot tub was open! The clubhouse is spacious, hot coffee awaits every morning. The Wi-Fi is very strong and free! They have a nice book and DVD library for you to check out. The sites were large and roomy for your tow vehicle and your rig with a nice picnic table provided. The staff is so dedicated to keeping the place immaculate, raking the rocks every day, picking up trash, constantly working to keep everything tip-top! There are RV parks and RV resorts. This was a RESORT at an RV Park price! We loved our stay there and we will return often! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent Thanksgiving at this resort and enjoyed the hospitality of the park. The turkey was great! The showers are spotless and the staff is always eager to assist you. The new dog run is another added bonus. We also enjoy the convenience of the free shuttle to the nearby casino. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We choose this park off the website & AAA book and upon arrival it seems good. We booked for 3 nights & paid on arrival. After payment, we were advised the only restrooms/showers were in the office building, and you had to ask for a key. The internet is limited to one device only and can not be swapped or additional ones purchased. We have been on the road for over 3 months and stayed in over 50 RV parks, and this park has been one of the most unpleasant stays. Having to ask for a key to shower and being made to feel that this is an inconvenience to them each night is appalling. On the 2nd night we had 20 minutes till the office closed at 8pm and was curtly told "you will have to be quick, we are closing soon" and telling a colleague they will have to clean it in the morning. When I got out of the showers at 7:50pm, I found they had locked me in the basement shower area. Eventually finding an unlockable rear exit door I managed to free myself and walk around to return the key. There was no apology offered. They had their bags on the counter ready to leave and were flustered that another customer had called in, even though they still had 7 minutes before closing. You can only shower within their hours which is very inconvenient if you like to rise early or go to bed later. You do not feel like you can freely use the facilities. We did not use the laundry, pool, or spa, due to feeling uncomfortable. The park is right beside the I-17 although the noise is tolerable. The sites are narrow with no privacy between them. The park is clean, however, it has no life or personality, and you are made to feel like an inconvenience. We would never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 weeks to visit the nearby National Parks and other attractions on our way to Phoenix. The park is connected with the nearby Cliff Castle Casino which is operated by the Yavapai-Apache Nation. There is a free shuttle between the park and casino. The park is easily accessed from Interstate 17 but you have to negotiate a small traffic circle if you’re traveling north. The park claims they have “level, concrete pads” but the park was built on a slope so a lot of the sites are not flat or level. This is clearly obvious when you see RV’s blocked up as high as 4 to 6” trying to get level. Some of the sites have two different pitches/slopes on the site. There is a mixture of back in and pull through sites. There seems to be more back ins than pull through sites. The basic sites are primarily smaller, back ins located towards the middle of the park. The larger, wider sites are pull ins-back out sites along the perimeter or pull throughs. Some of those required quite a bit of blocking to get level. The interior roads are paved and the site pads are concrete. There are a couple of tight corners to negotiate but they escort you to your site and assist with backing in. Most all of the sites offer a view of the southern sky with few obstructions to get good satellite reception. Some RV’s in the adjacent sites could obstruct the view of the southern sky interfering with reception as there isn’t much room between the sites. They have full hook ups – water, electricity (50 AMP), & sewer. They also have connections for cable and phone. It appears only the higher priced sites have an outside table. The outdoor area is gravel with some grass around the higher priced sites. The park’s Wi-Fi was intermittent at best. There were times when we only received one or two bars for reception. They limit usage to one computer per site and also your usage (the system would prevent large downloads). We primarily used our Verizon hotspot device and the reception was good. There is a fenced pet area with bag dispensers behind the office building/club house. There was a large area adjacent to the park to walk/run larger dogs. There was sufficient paved roads in the park to walk the dogs but there were no garbage containers throughout the park to dispose of pet waste. We didn’t use the restrooms/showers. They were only accessible when the office building/club house is open because they are controlled by keyed entry. We did use the laundry facility. The machines only take a debt type card which you can get from the office. Some of the machines didn’t work well accepting the card. There were many comments about how people preferred the coin operated machines. The pool and hot tub are out door connected to the office building/club house. The pool is open the same hours as the office building/club house. It was nice park. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Daily site side garbage pickup. There wasn’t much around the park as it is on the edge of town in a rural setting. We would stay here again if ever in the area because we like parks connected to casinos. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the cleanest facilities I have ever been in. Convenient to Sedona and all the other attractions. WIFI could be slow at times. My Verizon MiFI 4G service would not work in this area which I expected. The pool was cold and refreshing. Our site was a pull in facing a scenic view and was level. Cable reception was excellent. Staff was very friendly. One inconvenience was that showers required a key and you had to wait for service desk to open, no early showers in the clubhouse. We ate at the nearby casino one night. Smoke filled, average service, good meal but a little pricey. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here 5 nights/6 days. Very nice park. Easy off and on exit to park. One down side would be that showers were always locked and only accessible during office hours, but we use ours in the RV so didn't matter to us but thought it was odd. This park is exactly as described on their website and beautiful in person. Great location to Sedona, Flagstaff, Cottonwood areas. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The pool clean and comfortable temperature. The entire park is very well maintained. The concrete slabs are adequate, but for back-in sites your truck is parked only a few feet from your door. So, if you are sitting outside, you are generally looking at your RV or your truck. The thing that was most annoying is the Wi-Fi situation, as the last person mentioned. You only get one password and we both use our laptops all the time. We were able to use our MiFi for the 2nd laptop, but I think it should be clear before you get there that you only get one password. We really like this location which puts you near to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Mingus Mountain, Jerome, etc. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As has been mentioned, the park is clean and well run. Downside is not all sites are level and some are extreme. WiFi allows one (1) code per site and usage is measured. Don't try to watch an email attached video or you'll exceed the limit and WiFi will become s l o w and s l o w e r! I find this unacceptable!!! We will try somewhere else next time. First of all, we really do like this park. It isvery well run, but there are 2 things we think people should know about the park. 1) most sites are not level, either front or back depending in the direction you park. I had to use 4 pads on each of the front jacks with them fully extended to level the coach. When we walked around the park we saw most rigs on blocks. But we do understand the sloped pads because of the heavy rains. 2) they only give you one password for the Wi-Fi even if you have 2 computers. We offered to pay for a second password but we would have had to pay for another site, so one of us did without. Besides these two issues the park is very clean, friendly staff, nice location and a free shuttle to the casino if you want to visit it. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had the coolest weather while staying here. It was hot but it would rain and they had the neatest thunderstorms. which cooled it down. Wish the pool would of been open until at least 10 PM. But all in all nice place to stay. Would camp there again. Great attractions near by to visit, Montezumas wells, Tuzigoot and the train ride in Clarkdale. Lot of great history. Casino on other side if interstate with bowling for the kids and gambling for the adults. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is an excellent RV Park, and perhaps the best along the I-17 corridor. Good Sam provided it a rating of 10-10-10. Not so in my opinion! There are 158 sites and at best only 30 are close to being level. Some offering an extraordinary leveling challenge. I recommend checking and finding a suitable level site before getting assigned to a site. At first glance the sites appear to be spacious. Not so if another rig gets parked to your rear. Then you'll find your RV just a few feet from a neighbor. The utilities here are top notched and positioned in an ideal location at each site. The Wi-Fi was great and without any sort of problem. The exercise equipment is new and provides the opportunity to get a real weight lifting work-out. The grounds are well landscaped and well maintained. The entire place is well maintained and there is absolutely no rift raft here. I heard some noise from I-17 and it was easy to tune-out. For me, there were far to many security lights, which are unnecessary. Why do RV Parks think they need to light-up the place like a 24 hour truck stop? Excellent accommodating staff. I stayed here three nights at Passport America rate. I will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely and clean park. We stayed for 4 nights for a rally. My only objection is that the office doesn't open until 8:00 a.m., and you need a key to use the shower room. If you want to work out and shower before breakfast, you're out of luck. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price is the daily average based on the weekly rate net of Good Sam discount and taxes. While this is a very nice park, it is not a 10 on my scale. To be a 10, a park would need such things as: 1) sites that are level, or at least more level than the ones here; 2) showers accessible 24 hours, not just when the office is open; 3) some kind of table/seating at the sites. I also have a pet peeve about parks that call themselves a “resort.” There are true RV resorts, but a small pool and hot tub does not make a park a resort. There is nothing wrong with being a nice RV park, which this one is. The staff is friendly and is always doing cleaning and maintenance, both inside and outside. The park is in a nice setting, and there is a lot to see and do within a 25-mile radius. Note: The buffets at the nearby casino are overpriced and very poor as casino buffets go. That said, the items off the menu were pretty good and reasonably priced, and the Johnny Rockets Diner was good if you like that type of place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground that will accommodate larger motorhomes as well as smaller RVs. It is clean and well maintained. The perimeter sites have beautiful views of the valley. I would have given it a higher scores except for two issues: 1) Many of the pads are not level and may cause a problem. For our 40 foot motorhome both front wheels were off the ground after leveling. 2) The Wi-Fi is terrible, so slow it is unusable in the evening. Wi-Fi connections in mid-day were fair. And, they will only allow one Wi-Fi code per campsite. The Verizon broadband coverage was also poor in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An excellent park with great facilities and a friendly staff. An escort led us to our site on the paved roads, and each site is level concrete with a parking pad. Landscaping throughout the park is exceptional, and although near the Interstate, it's quiet at night. The free Wi-Fi worked well, and Verizon data service was usable, but slow. The location provides an excellent base for visiting Sedona, Montezuma Castle, and other area attractions. As mentioned, the showers are cleaned after each use, a remarkable service. We enjoyed our stay here and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is very nice. They clean the showers after each use. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Centrally located to all attractions. We come to this area for a couple of weeks every year. First time at this park. We stayed in one of the sites along the edge which are not back in they are pull straight in. Most of these sites have a view of mountains and if you have a pet, just walk out the RV and walk on a trail. Loved this park. The only neg is Wi-Fi is iffy and Sprint doesn't work well, at least in the site we were in. Verizon works good. Traffic from Hwy was not noticeable where we camped. Will come back. We picked this campground based on its central location and reviews published on this website. Most of the reviews were spot on both positive and negative. Nice campground with easy access to area attractions. Great views from west side sites. First, the negatives. Pads seem to vary from level to needing 10" inches of leveling blocks. Doesn't seem to be a pattern to location in campground. One site is dead on next is way out of level. Ours on west side required the front jacks to put the front tires on tip toes. Whoever graded the campground and poured the concrete needs to go back to school. Just be prepared. Water pressure seemed a bit low at times. Wifi was marginal especially during peak periods. Our ATT signal voice was good but Internet sucked. Desk staff seem a bit overwhelmed with more than one check in at a time. But they were nice. On the positive side the campground seems to run well. Daily trash pick up at your site. Electricity was not a problem. Nice, new dog "park." I17 noise didn't bother us even though we like in a rural area. Maybe a problem in part of park nearest Interstate. Good dog walking opportunities off lead especially on west side of park. Very clean sites. Sites not crowded. Seemed to be a lot of snowbirds spending the winter here. Didn't use any other facilities at park. Go to Montezuma's Castle and Well. Jerome is interesting as is road to Prescott from there. Sedona is beautiful but way toooooooo many people and tooooooo much traffic. Trip to Tuzigoot was interesting with nice museum. Don't think will stay here again. No reflection on the park just not enough close good hiking to hold our attention. Camp Verde is in the "ugly" zone between the red rocks of Sedona and the Sonoran desert of Apache Junction. This is a perfect place for a one or two night stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this park several times and will come back again. It is always clean and the staff is the best. They are always extremely friendly and helpful. There is so much to do in this area and the staff is very knowledgable. It is my understanding that the park is undergoing new management which is good news! We stayed here for a couple of months this summer and the manager was gone, however the staff seemed to really have things under control. We certainly never met the "rude" staff. This park is centrally located. The park has slipped in cleanliness and friendliness since our last stay. The previous managers are no longer at the park and it shows! The new managers (two women) are not friendly! There were many problems with check-in. We asked for a pull through and got a back in, what a hassle. We were not even offered assistance to our site. The sites are very hard to level your coach in. The Wi-Fi is non existent. When we went to use the showers, the girls at desk were rude and insisted we shower together. I do not feel it was our fault they have to be cleaned after each use! Many things have changed here. We will not be back!!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The office staff was great and very helpful. We were given a back in site. Would have preferred a pull through. Leveling was tricky. Wi-Fi was not good at all. There was road noise at night. This is a good central location to get to several other cities and all of the National parks and monuments. It's not a perfect park but we would definitely stay there again. It has an air of safety that not all parks have. Camp workers are never still. They work and clean constantly and the park reflects their hard work--very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park creates a great first impression. The streets are paved and the parking pads and patios are concrete. There is some grass around the perimeter sites only. Otherwise it is pea gravel and some bushes around. They rake the gravel smooth daily. There is no picnic table or fire ring. I did like the fact that the pad and patio were wide enough for a motorhome with slides on both sides, room to open your hatches and parking for your toad while still on the concrete. That was nice. I did not like that I had to drive my motorhome up on two boards in the rear and put blocks under the rear jacks to get level. They definitely screwed up when they poured the concrete with such a large slope. The water pressure varied from 36# to 45# so it was pretty low. The sites are kind of staggered with side by side hookups and with the slideouts out you are pretty close to your neighbor. Some larger motorhomes had a hard time backing out of their perimeter sites without hitting the RV across the road. The staff was very nice and accommodating but we will probably not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Why is my rating so low? It is a nice looking park with very friendly staff. But when you have a 38 foot MH with auto leveling system and you need to drive up on 2 boards and manually level, there is a serious problem with the design of the park! The pull-through sites, which we were in due to availability, are sloped so much that it is impossible to level. When I mentioned this to the staff that parked us, his answer was: "There was a guy down there parked for 2 years with none of his tires on the ground." Very unacceptable in our opinion. (Also MH manufacturers who state that tires should never be off the ground as it will adversely effect the frame and axle.) We would not return to this park nor would we recommend it to anyone for that reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I can see why so many folks give this place a 9 or a 10, but I think most of those folks are retired/older folks (as am I). They tend to overlook the lack of recreational facilities (for example, the pool is way too small for a park this size) for families. A few reviewers have mentioned leveling and highway noise problems. I am surprised that I saw only one other review that mentioned the bathroom/showers closing at a ridiculous 8PM. Yes, the park is attractive, clean, well groomed, etc. and everything worked well, but it does have its' flaws. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park, especially for the price. The motor home sites are a little nicer than the pull-through sites because you are not back to back with your neighbor. The motor home only sites are head in and designed to give you a better view. The sites while they do have some slope designed for drainage, are not excessive. Some may be more than others. There is some traffic noise, but we didn't find it excessive. There is also an airstrip nearby so small private planes sometimes fly low over the park. This is usually during daylight hours, and more so on weekends. The staff is attentive and takes good care of the property. It is the desert so there is a lot of rock, but not much grass. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Super clean and well maintained. Ground crew were constantly pulling weeds and raking the gravel between the concrete pads. Everyone very friendly including other campers. As mentioned elsewhere the pads are not very level but manageable. We stayed here while attending a Willie Nelson concert (loved it) at the Cliff Castle Casino across the interstate from the campground. The Casino provides shuttle service to the campground. Camp Verde is a great place to spend your winter months in Arizona, but you do get some weather there. The town is easily accessible from this park in addition to shopping and site seeing in nearby towns. The park is very clean and neat. Not good for children however as there isn't much to occupy them other than the pool in summer months. Its a great place for someone to stay for a night or two. There is the Cliff Castle Casino across the way from the park which offers some entertainment on weekends other than gambling and the park offers a bus to and from the casino. The park has a gym for exercise enthusiasts, but it is quite small. Its a great place for adults and retirees! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Reluctantly, I give this resort only a 9. It should be a 10+, but despite all of the positive things said in prior reviews (almost all of which I agree with), there are a couple of problems. First and foremost, are the sites themselves. Very few of them are level and most of them are from 6"-18" out of level. Many RVs are up on jack pads to achieve a level status. They spent a small fortune putting in roads (paved) and the sites (all concrete with parking space) with neatly maintained pea gravel between the sites, but apparently failed to consider making them level. A few more scrapes with a bulldozer on each site would have done the trick. The other thing that irked me is the lack of picnic tables. When I asked, they told me (you are going to love this) that this was a resort and resorts don't have tables, only parks do. OK, maybe I'm being a bit picky about the tables, but we like to dine outside weather permitting and don't like the idea of using valuable (rig storage) space for a table. All said and done, this is a great park. Very friendly staff. When we asked if we could have another site that was more level, they immediately accommodated. Almost everytime a staff member rides by, they stop and ask if we need anything. We had one tire that needed air, and were told that when we were ready they would bring a compressor to our site. Pool, showers, bathrooms and laundry were very clean. We would definitely stay here again. And you should to, but don't forget jack pads and a table. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Love this park! Close to all surrounding communities to do and see things (Jerome, Cottonwood, Sedona), plus the Casino is near for cheap meals and a shuttle upon request. It's one of the cleanest parks we've stayed at in Arizona! As soon as a rig pulls out, they're there to clean up anything that needs it: rake out the gravel and have it in tip-top shape! If you use the showers, you have to get a key at check in desk, and return when done. They clean the showers after each persons use! Laundry room is very clean and neat with an iron/board. There is a exercise room with variety and TV/video. Swimming pool is ok, but the hot tub is great! We got the weekly rate and we would definitely stop here again. It was 'repeat' for us this year! A nice find with easy access on and off the hwy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a nice surprise! We came here for a week to escape the heat of the Phoenix area, and were met with extremely friendly staff. We parked at a "valley view" site, but there was too much afternoon sun for my wife, so we requested a site change. That request was cheerfully and immediately honored. The sites are cleaned and the gravel raked after each guest. The office has free (and great) coffee each day. They tell you about things to do in the area, and provide maps of such. The laundry and gym are clean and adequate. The nearby casino has a bowling alley and great inexpensive food. It's just a hop, skip and a jump from here to Sedona, Jerome, and Prescott. We asked to move to a pull-through site our last night, as we had to leave early the next day and did not want to disturb any other guests by backing up so early. They cheerfully honored this request. We were very impressed and would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have three complaints. First is the fact that it's nearly impossible to level your rig. The beautiful concrete pads are so far from level, the company that poured them should be sued. Good luck trying to level your rig. Second, they want your garbage out front by 8:00 am and you can't leave it out overnight. I'm sorry, I'm on vacation and not getting up early so I can put my garbage out. Third, it seems that if you stay at a discounted rate, even though there are plenty of them available, you will not get a pull-through. Otherwise, I agree with all the other reviews about what a nice, clean, friendly and convenient park this is. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We are full-timers and enjoyed a month at this park. All roads are paved, with concrete pads, and decorative gravel between sites. It was often windy, but no dust. Many sites have a slight slope, ours took three leveling blocks. No shade, few trees. Very convenient location right off I-17; there is some road noise, but it didn't bother me. The Cliff Casino is right across the freeway overpass with a free shuttle. Very nice, clean facilities - individual shower/bath rooms, big reasonably priced laundry, library, well-equipped fitness room, nice pool and hot tub, meeting room. Most of the time their W-Fi was excellent, but there were a few short times when it did not work. Our Sprint air card and Verizon cell phone worked fine. Good Cable TV, 27 channels. Office staff was friendly. We enjoyed Parkside Community Church 3 miles down the road. We would stay here again. The rate is for a month. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We go back to this park fairly often in that it is a perfect first night out, last night out or great to for hiking / photo shooting around there or near Sedona. We don't like side by side hookups which is the only downside I see to this park. But the plus side here is that the pull throughs are very long so the patios are offset. We paid the weekly rate, and therefore, got a discounted price. They have different rates for different parts of the campground. Mountain view sites are premium sites and are more than sites located in the interior of the park. This park is immaculate. After a rig pulls out they sweep the concrete pad, check for any debris, and rake the pea gravel that surrounds the site. This campground is meticulously maintained. All sites, patios, and roadways are paved and spotless. Staff was friendly with coffee served every morning. The nearby casino serves good food at reasonable prices. We camped here in a Motorhome.

To say this park is "pristine" is the understatement of the day. The roads are paved, the sites are all concrete pads and the decorative gravel is raked regularly. I don't think there is a pebble or a leaf out of place. The Wi-Fi worked great, the pool was closed, but the hot tub was open. We got the Passport rate (which ends at the end of February) but that meant we were sent to the back corner, which gave us a lovely view of the interstate on-ramp. There's a casino across the interstate which meant we got a great dinner for only $10. I'm not sure I'd pay the full rate, especially since you can boon dock for free at the casino, but at half price, I'd return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This has to be one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful and even stopped by later to make sure everything was Ok. The park is very clean, level concrete pads with a beautiful view of the mountains. Has one of the most friendly "dog areas" with real grass, a rarity in Arizona. Other campers were very friendly and several say they come here locally because it is such a great place to just get away. Manager was very helpful in mapping out local day trips to Sedona (30 minutes) and other local towns. Will definitely make this a stop on any future trips. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Super maintained park with small trees between some sites with a few grassy patches. Staff is efficient and very helpful. Even the small landscape rocks are raked to keep things looking their very best! Back in sites have room for the car alongside and this creates a bit of a patio area. Long pull through sites place cars behind and are a single width but hold the largest of RVs. We have used this park as a base camp to see the sights in the area. This truly is a wonderful park/resort. We would've rated it a "10" except for the freeway noise. If you were to camp here during hotter weather then the freeway noise wouldn't be an issue with closed windows at night. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Stayed here on night back in September, the rate reflects PA membership. This is the best, well kept place I have ever seen. Showers, restrooms, laundry and exercise room are very clean. Distant Drums was a very pleasant RV park with updated facilities and proximity to a number of attractions such as Tuzigoot National Monument, Montezuma's Castle and the Cliffside Casino in Camp Verde. The park is well kept and maintained and the staff is very pleasant and friendly. There is cable/satellite TV and internet available. Internet was a little slow but fairly reliable. Some of the RV sites slope a bit and will require some leveling of the RV. There is a small store on site that carries ice and some limited RV and grocery supplies. There is no pet-run but the Park borders open desert so there are many places to take your dog for excercise and "relief". We stayed here about a month. It can get a little toasty up here in August. It's only about 4,000 feet in altitude. Closer to Flagstaff is much more pleasant during the summer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Distant Drums RV Resort was great. My family and I arrived Friday afternoon, the site they gave us was fantastic. Even though we have an "older" travel trailer, we were able to set up with no problems. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Loved the private showers. Only down side is they close at 8:00 pm and don't open up again until 8:00 am, so if you get back to the resort late, you have to wait until the next day to shower. Also no restrooms available during those hours. It was not a problem though. Just adjusted our schedule. I would definitely recommend this park if you are going to be anywhere near the Grand Canyon. This park is very nice and clean with all of the amenities one could want. It is a bit noisy at night since it is right next to the freeway, but access is good. The staff is nice enough and helpful. We were very frustrated with the limited access to the shower/exercise/pool facilities which are supposedly open from 8a-8p. When we tried to take our kids swimming after a long day on the road, the pool had closed early (in their defense, the maintenance person let them in to splash for a few minutes). We tried to take a shower at 7:15 pm, but we were turned away and told the showers had been cleaned already, no exceptions. The park states quiet time is 10 pm but our kids were told to stop riding their bikes at 8 pm. This park is great is you don't mind CC&R's and very limited hours, but flexibility is not a priority here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If it had some shade and better store facilities I would give it a 10 because compared to the rest of the RV parks available in the Verde Valley, Distant Drums is a mansion and the others are tract houses. We have tried most of the other parks, because of DD's locale to the freeway and no shade, but should have been staying here all along. I found the sites very cramped together. We were assigned a site right next to another rig and there were plenty of open sites so we chose a different one. Wasn't a problem. We didn't unhook and the site was very uneven (front to back was barely tolerable). We were just staying the night so didn't really take advantage of the "resort" facilities. I'd try to find a more reasonably priced park if I were in the area again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice RV park in a small town. There are some permanent residents, but many come here for vacations. Everyone (especially the permanent residents) were very friendly and helpful. This was our first time in our new tent trailer, and one of the residents helped us set up. We felt very welcome. It was very quiet and peaceful despite the sites being a little close to each other. The bathrooms are very clean (even for a busy Memorial Day weekend), and the showers are cleaned after each person. There is a small pool and hot tub which was also very clean. The grounds are well maintained, and they pick up your trash every morning. The laundry room was clean, and I was comfortable doing all my laundry there. You don't even need quarters as they have a card they issue with however much you want to put on the card. This RV park is my first pick for the greater Sedona area and there is a lot to do near Camp Verde. We will definitely come here again when we return to the Sedona area. This is a very nice, clean park. The roads are all paved and easily navigable. The sites are all concrete pads. Unfortunately, the whole park is on a slope, so while the sites are concrete, they are not particularly level. A 5th wheel would be easy to level but the site we were first assigned had the front wheels about 8" lower than the rear. It had good WiFi and cable TV, and the hookups were convenient. It's also very convenient to the casino. Whether that's a plus or not is up to the reader to decide. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Because of the proximity of Distant Drums to our home, we have frequently stayed here for first night out or last night out when traveling in that direction. We also use it as a base for activities in Sedona and the surrounding area. We have never been disappointed about anything in this park. Sites might be a tad close as mentioned, but not an issue with us. Picnic tables would be nice but that is not a factor for us. We were just here for 5 nights and were very pleased. Staff is great and the owner really does a great job running the place. The laundry is spotless and we use it each time except when first night out. Highly recommend Distant Drums. This is a very nice RV park. The sites are all concrete and well maintained. The hookups are well placed and easy to use. There is a pool, exercise room, and small store. The staff is friendly. This was a real find for us! We enjoyed staying here as it was very, very clean and well attended! It's the first time I've ever stayed somewhere that they come in after you've showered and clean the shower/restroom immediately! Laundry room is spotless, ironing board and iron set up for your use taking clothes out of the dryer. Was cheap enough for a wash or dry at $1.25 per. All sites are concrete and very level, neat & clean, dog friendly, quiet nights with low lighting, cable TV and free WiFi. Personnel is friendly and helpful. Shuttle to and from the Casino is nice and 10% discount at restaurant. Handy and convenient to places for sight seeing and shopping (only minutes from Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome). Nice location. Easy access from I-17, so there's some traffic noise, but not really a problem. A good location to use as a base to all the things there are to see in this area. Office staff was very cordial and professional. Workout facility is quite nice. Didn't use the hot tub, pool or laundry, but they looked nice. On the downside, most sites in this park are not level. They're quite narrow, which means you can be inches away from your street side neighbor. WiFi was spotty, as was AT&T cell service. We spent a week here this time, but in the future will probably use this park as just an overnighter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed one week and the weekly rate was $195, with full hook ups and Wi-Fi included. The park is immaculate and laid out well, but the sites are fairly close to one another as our street side window was not very far from the curb side of the rig next to us. There was ample room for our jeep (which we tow behind our fifth wheel), and our long box diesel truck on our site. Would definitely stay here again but not for an entire winter season. Easy on/off to I-17 and centrally located to Sedona, Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Jerome, etc. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Lovely location and park. Booked in without a reservation and were assured that we were very lucky, as the place was filling up fast and we were given a spot that someone had just vacated. It was right next to the sewer with prevailing winds. This late in the season did not materialize into Grand Central Station with about three quarters full! Our inconsiderate next door neighbors must have been workers in the area. 5:00 AM motors running, doors slamming and motor cycles idling got my attention. Thanks! Also, it should be mandatory for pet owners to pick up the droppings of their pet on the side roads and trails. People seemed to think that it was okay for their dogs to be turned loose to just go where nature calls and then leave. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yes, it's a nice park but this low review is a warning for Passport America members. We called twice and could not get a site because the park only saves TEN of the 158 sites for PA, and there's a 3 night limit. The entire month of April was booked. Big Rip-off. We camped here for one month, March-April 2010. The campground is clean, the staff was very friendly and the location was good right off I-17. The reason I gave this place a seven is that it always smells. I was in site 36 which was only 50 yards from the septic system. It smelled all the time. I ask to be moved to another site three times but I was never moved. I talked to some of the other people in the park and they also said it smells. The only other complaint I had was the noise from I-17. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here once again: been here several times in the past; guess our returning says something! One of the cleanest and well kept up RV parks we know. We stay for visits to Sedona area for hiking and photo work; and use it as a last night before home when coming in from the north to our home south of Tucson. Great staff and great facilities. We have stayed here in the past and will continue to use it as an overnight stop when passing through. The pad we had this time was narrow, we just barely got our wheels on it (pull-through). Also, I had to put blocks under the back wheels so I could level the rig. We noticed that the sites where sloped at one end, I guess for monsoon run off. I camped on Passport America rate, plus tax. Site selection is important since campground is on a hill, and there are many uneven concrete sites that require an extra amount of leveling for motorhomes. Park is beautifully maintained and has a nice mountain view. Electric power was steady at 116 volts. Office staff was pleasant at check-in. I did not use clubhouse facilities. We camped in third row up from southern edge of park. The sewer drains and sewer plant are at the west end of this row, and it was quite smelly outside when we camped here. Also, we were careful backing in since our duals would barely fit on the concrete site pad. Choose your site wisely, and this could be a 10 campground. I would definitely stay here again if I got a more level site up on the hill away from sewer plant. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You need a key to get to the restrooms/showers, but the key is at the desk of the office that is closed for about 10-12 hours out of every 24. Distant Drums is exceptionally clean and neat. We are full-timers and we have never stayed in a campground where they clean the showers/bathrooms after every single use! The air conditioned and heated private bathrooms are complete, with a toilet, sink, and shower. They even provide you with a disposable bath mat, chair, touchless paper towel dispenser, soap, etc. The laundry room is large and spotless! They use a card system rather than quarters for the washers & dryers, which you buy at the front desk. It has an ironing board, iron, sink, rod to hang clothes, two counters and a TV. There's a computer & printer in the lobby for guests, a sofa with a large TV, fireplace and library in the community room. We intended to stay one night and ended up staying nine days! Loved it there and highly recommend it. Very friendly, helpful staff! Great rates, too (Good Sam's discount makes it even better). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our 40' coach occupied full length of site so a 45' coach would not fit. Park is on sloping hillside so many sites are somewhat unlevel. Very helpful staff at park. We stayed in Distant Drums RV Park for four nights and thought it a very friendly and well maintained RV park. The sites are all paved and swept clean by volunteer camp hosts. We camped here for 2 weeks part of a group of 15 rigs. Our group was kindly offered a discount rate even though we did not ask for it. Most sites are back ins. Sites are cement pads and ours was quite even. These are not long sites but long and wide enough to easily accommodate our 36 Ft rig and plenty of room to park the car and put out a few chairs. One of our party had a 40 ft rig and they also had plenty of room. Club room and central kitchen facilities were excellent. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We pulled in last night and got their last site. Hence, the park feels and looks really packed. Whoever designed this park did some things right and some things wrong. The right things are: They designed the perimeter view sites as pull-ins, so you can actually enjoy the view from your front window. The bad news is: Out of 150 sites only 10 are pull-throughs. The others are tight, short, (barely 42'), and no table. In addition, because the sites are so short, you need to park your tow car on your patio. It's a very clean park, (concrete pads, paved roads, very few trees) they collect your trash daily, it is well located to Sedona as well as easy on/off from the I-17 freeway. You will have a little freeway noise, but not unbearable. We would come back, but only if we could book a pull-through or their pull-in view sites (#'s 35 through 50). We camped here in a Motorhome.

The appearance of this park is great, its location for touring the area is good. The biggest downfall is the close proximity of some of the sites. After we set up we had neighbours back in beside us, the site design placed the back of their 5th wheel so close to our trailer that we could not walk between the two units. As well it is not the easiest sites to back into, we had to cut across the corner of the parking pad, this makes it hard the tires. Who ever designed this park really did not do a good job. This was a tight fit. Not so much for the roads around the park, but the sites are quite close together. You would think you were in a prime location, not in the middle of Arizona high country. Anyway, it is one of two RV parks on I-17, with the other about 40 miles North, so it has a nitch in the market. Plus, it is just across the hiway from an Indian casino. This is a very nice, clean and well maintained RV park. Despite being just off I-17 we felt the road noise was minimal. We had our windows open nearly every day and evening until bedtime and only were aware of the highway when an especially loud truck, car or motorcycle went by. The sites are about average for a commercial campground but they are nicely landscaped. Some hookup pedestals are shared but with the camper who is parked behind you instead of next to you which means the pedestals are on the correct side. Some of the back-in sites are really pull-in sites but those have a nice view of the countryside out of the front window. There are a few W/E only sites but the vast majority are full hook-up. The main building is spacious and contains the usual C-Store (which wasn't stocked during our visit), lounge with a big screen TV, laundry, showers and exercise room. The laundry uses plastic cards which can be purchased at the registration desk (they refund any unused portion) instead of coins. The showers are cleaned after each use. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The cable-TV contains only about a dozen channels but it is a nice mix. The Wi-Fi seems adequate although we were parked fairly near the transmit/receive point. The nightly rate of $28 was based on their weekly rate. They are a Good Sam park and usually when you take the weekly rate at a park they do not apply the 10% Good Sam discount. Not here. We got 10% off of the weekly rate! The park is located about 15-miles from a Super Wal-Mart and just about 5-minutes from a Basha's supermarket. Sedona is about a 25-minute ride. We would definitely recommend this park. Being that this park is one of our favorites, we decided to spend Thanksgiving there. It is still very clean & the staff very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to see the level of cleanliness is still excellent. Usually as a park matures, the upkeep tends to deteriorate. Not so at this park. Had no problem parking our fifth wheel. We got a nice wide open space further down towards the casino. Aside from a boisterous person in a small fifth wheel across from us, it was quiet most of the time. I'm not sure if he was a park employee or what? Overall our stay was very nice & the grandkids had a blast hiking the trail across the street from the park's entrance. We'll definitely keep coming back to this beautiful RV park. Nice park. Three types of sites. Pull throughs, Pull ins, and back ins. All sites are paved. Pull throughs are long but narrow. Back ins are a good choice if you are disconnecting. On the south end are a few pull ins for motorhomes which over look the valley. Wi-Fi worked well at my site (close to office). Would definitely return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Real nice place. The sites are paved and landscaped, although they could be a bit larger. Staff very helpful. Only caveat: the exercise room is NOT air conditioned. Fan and open window is your "AC." Heat from laundry room next door aggravates the problem. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an immaculate park with terrific mountain and Verde Valley views with easy I-17 access. Staff was very accommodating and they take great care in keeping up the park. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is that I found the sites may be just a tiny bit hard to get in to. Otherwise: absolutely no complaints. We had an end pull-through so no maneuvering problems, but I can see if someone has a middle of the row site, and a large rig, it may take a few shots at getting situated. There are only 10 pull throughs in the entire park so if this is vital to you, I would recommend reserving as far in advance as possible or calling before heading out. Pool is a nice size and was super clean as was the spa. We were the only ones in it on both days. It is very close to Cliff Castle casino, (just on the other side of 17) and there are many other fast food and retail establishments just one exit south on 17 (about 3 miles). An easy drive to Cottonwood, National Monument sites and, of course, Sedona!. The back-in spaces on the perimeter of the park (the most southern and western spaces) will give the best views. They do ask that you walk your pets outside the perimeter of the park, but most folks, at night especially, used the grassy areas within the park and were very good at picking up after their pets. Trash is collected at your site daily. Cable and Wi-Fi is free, but the Wi-Fi signal at our site was fair at best. There are also phone hookups. There is also a PC in the office/country store. Would certainly stay again while traveling through the Verde Valley. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We cannot say enough about this park. The sites were level and paved. Everything about the park was immaculate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and out was a breeze as was filling up with LP. This was not a planned stop on our trip, but it will be from now on. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent park. Perfect location as a base camp for Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome. Whatever you want to go and do it is all within a 30 minute drive or less. Easy access from 1-17. Large paved sites, super nice staff. Pool and jacuzzi were really nice. With temps in the lower 100's, the pool water is very comfortable. If you stay here, be sure to go to Blazin'M Ranch for the cowboy dinner. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This has to be one of the cleanest parks I've seen. It is conveniently located between Sedona & Cottonwood making it very easy to go out to dine or just shop. The amenities are plentiful & well maintained. The showers are spotless as are the laundry room & exercise room. The pool is large & clean along with a nice size jacuzzi. The managers & staff are very friendly & well informed. It is a kid & pet friendly park. The concrete spaces are set far apart with very well maintained landscaping. All spaces are full hook-up, which includes free wifi & free local phone hook up. Propane is available near the office building. This place is a treat to stay at. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here a month in site #110, a back in site. Was able to get our 35 ft trailer and HDT in this site. Has an airport across the interstate, with little airplanes flying in and out most mornings. The interstate noise wasn't a problem, but could be for those closer to it. Interior roads are asphalt and sites are concrete. Lots of sites are unlevel side to side, and others front to rear. Pull through sites are very tight. Could be 1 foot from your neighbor's slide out. Site #80, I'd say is the best easy in easy out pull through. Does have cable TV, free Wi-Fi, "free" on site phone line, staff is very friendly and helpful, a very clean campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park and right near the highway so easy to get to Sedona and Jerome and all the other interesting sights. The sites were a good size and there was a area in the back of the park where you could walk your pet. The park was very clean and the garbage was picked up each morning from in front of your RV. We stayed here two nights to visit nearby Sedona. I chose this place based on ratings here, and we were not disappointed! This place was immaculate, clean and it really showed that the management cares for the place. The showers/bathrooms are cleaned after every use. The kitchen and clubhouse is very nice and the staff there were friendly. They also have a laundromat and a workout room, as well as a pool and a jacuzzi. The only nitpick would be the odd placement of some utilities in the lot we were in, but fortunately we were able to use the lot next to us. Otherwise the power/water lines would need to be quite long. A minor issue that was by far better than staying in some of the nearby RV parks we had looked at after finding the state park we wanted to stay at was booked. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

WOW: cleanest resort I've seen. If you use their shower/toilet rooms you log in, get a key. Once you're done they clean the unit. Don't try the pull-throughs. You can't pull in with your toad attached. The roads are too narrow and the pad is only 10 feet wide. I was on pad 73 and there is a 6 inch drop off the right of the pad which could be an axle buster. Fortunately a fellow camper helped me onto the pad. The back-ins are actually easier to get into. You pay extra for the pull-through and end up with side by side hookups. My neighbor was very close to my hookup side. I stayed here last year in a back-in. It is a clean 'RV Park'. Probably the best in the area. No wi-fi - at least I could not find it. I will stay here again while in the area but I will ask for a back-in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was a delight to visit. It is clean and well managed. The hosts were quite friendly. The spaces are level and paved! Also paved is a space next to the motor home where you can park your tow vehicle. The park is close to a casino which had an outdoor concert the night we stayed. We could hear the music clearly from our campsite and thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best parks we have ever stayed in. Everything is top notch, including the courteous, friendly staff. The community center is spotless throughoutand includes a complete exercise room. Since this is a fairly new park, the shade trees have not fully developed, but the other landscaping is beautiful. Because of the dryness in this area, it is obvious why there are no fire rings and no fires allowed. Although Rt. 17 is nearby, the traffic noise is minimal. We will recommend this park to whoever we meet and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very Clean park, however still no picnic tables for fire rings. Some of us would like to sit out at night and talk with friends over a fire and enjoy popping corn or just watching the fire. Having a table to eat at would be nice also. We all don't go there just to gamble. Very expensive place to park your unit and listen to the traffic on I-17. I think this is the last time we will use this park. It is good for overnight stays, just not for weekend get aways. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good new park, with concrete pads. I stayed 2 days. Instant [free] on site phone: but was only live on my neighbors pad. Mine was dead. Lots of staff but not well trained. They had lots of problems with the "computer" when I tried to register for the second day. A local RV dealer had rented all the pull-through sites for a "show" the weekend I was here. So I had to use a back-in, which was OK. I will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was one of the highlites of a very long trip. I don't understand why Trailer Life only gave it a 5 for visual appeal, as the view is great. We used it as our base to visit Sedona and Montezuma's Castle. I don't know what else someone could ask for in a campground. They have everything and it's all nice. Passport America rate for level FHU pull through site - taxes included. No cable but our batwing picked up quite a few stations. The Wi-Fi varied - early morning was pretty good but it could get sluggish at times. Verizon broadband was very good at 4G. They have two rows of pull through sites for short term stays with a patio between each. Fairly roomy sites. Overall a very nice stop. It made a nice base for seeing the area National Monuments and Sedona. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Although a relatively small RV park, they offer many amenities, including flawless Wi-Fi connectivity. The owners are cordial and caring and take excellent care to maintain the park and keep it clean. We will continue to utilize this RV resort for our "week out" during our winter in Verde Valley. Being so close to I-17 does not present a noise problem, and many of our friends are now coming here to take their break. We will be continuing our national tour soon but when winter arrives again we will be found back here in Verde Valley using Krazy K. We definitely will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We shopped RV Parks in the Verde Valley, looking for CG close to Camp Verde and Cottonwood to be our destination for "week out" this winter. Of the dozen RV parks we physically checked our choice is Krazy K. The owners are friendly and helpful. First timers are escorted to the campsite and assisted with setup and alignment. The CG is crushed rock and gravel with landscape islands between sites and adequate shade trees. Utilities are well located and easy to use. The amenities are well maintained and clean, trees and bushes are pruned and tidy. There is plenty of room to navigate a large RV plus more than enough room to park either the toad or tow vehicle. Most of the short term sites are drive through. CG Wi-Fi is strong and quick, however, we also had a full signal on our Wi-Fi devices and didn't use the CG system. Facilities are clean and organized, the hot tub at 101 degrees. There are several long term residents in the park and most are friendly and cordial. We have stayed here twice so far this fall and alto it close to I-17 the traffic noise is not an issue. This CG more than meets our needs and we will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very attractive RV park with very attentive owner-managers who keep a close eye to be sure the park is in tip-top shape. The sites are nicely spaced, with landscaping - a few trees -- not enough to interfere with satellite TV. The Wi-Fi works well. The only negative is that the park is next to busy I-17 so there is some traffic noise at night. We really like this park. We have been here before and will return again. It is very convenient to the tourist sights in Prescott, Cottonwood and Sedona. The overnight stays are subject to Passport discounts, and the weekly and monthly rates are even more reasonable. We enjoyed our stay at this park. The sites are spacious, gravel, mostly level, hookups all worked fine. Facilities are slightly old, but are well-maintained and clean. The laundry room has 2 each washers and dryers. The 2 showers had 1 privacy area for both. There is a nice outdoor sitting area at the laundry room/bathroom area. The office has a pool table, library, and small fitness room. There is a nice, small outdoor swimming pool. Owners were very nice and helpful. Wi-fi worked good at medium speed. There is no cable TV. It is right next to I-17, so there is road noise. It is 2 miles driving off the freeway. A good value for your money. Our rate reflects a Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

They provide personal attention to each guest and provide 110 electric and water services for overflow overnights! This is a great small park. Owners work hard at keeping it nice and it shows. Everything is very clean and the owners are so friendly and helpful. This is a small bare bones RV park located about 2 miles from I-17 via a rough and hilly road. The roads in the park are gravel and rough. The spaces are large and have patios. Although some 2 miles from the interstate exit, the park is located right next to the freeway with freeway noise. The location is not in the best part of town. We used Passport America with a 50 amp full hookup rate of $15.00. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park is perfect for someone who wants a reasonable price and is within easy driving distance (under 30 min) to Sedona, Cottonwood, and several area attractions. We arrived at 9:30 at night, and the manager met us outside to guide us in. We had a problem with our 50 amp service that night (30 amp worked) but were moved in the morning with no problem. They had just revamped them the past week and didn't realize they weren't working correctly. There are some long term residents, but they are very nice, and their homes aren't in disarray at all like you sometimes see in long term parks. We would stay longer, but my husband wanted to be in downtown Sedona for a few days. Definitely not a kid park since there are no activities, but it was perfect for us! Very safe, lots of places to walk the dog close by the park. Convenient to the interstate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fine, private RV park kept clean and presentable by a friendly owner and staff. Sites are mostly crushed rock, drive through with plenty of room to park a toad or tow vehicle and put out your patio. The park is quiet but close enough to Camp Verde or Cottonwood for services. Our alternative campground was full and this is our second best choice for our "week out." There isn't much in the way of activities, but facilities are clean and neat. Restrooms and showers are coded access. Utilities are located mid-site and easily accessible, no stretch required. There are several long term residents here, but everyone is friendly. Excellent private RV park. Pretty and quiet with friendly and helpful management. Did not use the parks Wi-Fi (signal strength looked so-so) but found our own Wi-Fi hotspot connection to be up and down. We would absolutely stay here again, perhaps even for a month. Very clean, quiet small park with fantastic owners. The site was plenty long to accommodate our 45 footer with ample space to get in and out of the site. It is about 2 miles off I-17 so very quiet. This is a small pretty park with spacious shaded sites. All sites are graveled and have a concrete patio with grass between the sites and one or more trees alongside. The park is located in a convenient location to all major attractions about a mile off highway 260 between the towns of Camp Verde and Cottonwood which has all of the retail shops and restaurants one could want or need. The park is located in a residential area so it is very quiet. The laundry room is spacious with a good number of washing machines and dryers and the washrooms and showers are clean. The owner is a very nice, helpful man. Upon arrival at the park the owner or one of his hosts, assists people with getting into their sites. Our only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that the Wi-Fi is a little up and down. When working, which was the majority of the time, it worked very well. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is my first time here, but will repeat the next time we're in the area. The park is small and friendly. The owner is helpful and likes to visit. A good thing. Lots of the folks stay the winter here, but I easily found a nice pull-through. The laundry is clean and reasonably priced. Your GPS will take you through a residential area, but the easy way is to get off of I-17 at exit 285 and drive the two miles to Horseshoe Bend Drive and turn right. The internet was "iffy", but is now being changed to a cable modem. It will improve more with time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

While this is a pleasant park, I would not give it as high a review as others have. The owners are very accommodating. It is very close to all of the attractions: Sedona and the ruins, etc. The bathrooms, laundry and showers are all spotless. We barely squeaked our 40 foot between the concrete pad and the utility pole. What was probably the most negative was our neighbor who looked to be a full timer in an older class A. We’ve had the pleasure of staying here twice now. Getting to this peaceful park is easy using the map and driving instructions on their web site. We wanted a safe, convenient location in the Verde Valley for our 38-foot motorhome while we explored the local attractions. We wanted comforts of home like free Wi-Fi at our site, great satellite TV and cell phone reception, strong water pressure, stable 50 amp electricity, and full hook-ups on this trip although offers partial hook-up sites. The restrooms, showers, and laundry are immaculate (cleaned and stocked twice daily) and safe. Rates are comparable to other area RV parks. Open all-year-round, the park’s tall shade trees, manicured gardens, and grass lawns encourage relaxation and rejuvenation. The great layout and spacious sites makes it easy to navigate a big rig around the Park. Unlike other parks, paved roads and gravel sites minimize dust. Most sites also have a concrete pad and picnic table. A favorite destination we’ll return to again and again! Conveniently situated between Cottonwood to the west, Camp Verde to the east, Sedona to the north, and Prescott to the south. The park is 10 minutes from Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Safeway, Fry’s, restaurants, and banks. Nearby attractions include Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Red Rock State Park , Oak Creek Canyon , Jerome, Cliff Castle casino, and many Indian ruins. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful park this is. It is way off the freeway and is sooo quiet and peaceful. Very easy to find if one will read a map, or follow instructions. Built in a very user friendly dual level, with all sites level and very nicely landscaped. Bathrooms and showers were pristine any time of the day. Our pull through was very wide and long enough for my 45 foot MH and 20 foot cargo trailer. Owners are very nice people, literally begging you to ask for their help. Some long timers, but very nice older folks. Even got invited over for dinner. Park looks like a garden due to owners constant care and watering. T.V. and Wi-Fi were great. We will never pass this place by, worth twice the measly 30 bucks they charge, just good fair folks who know how to keep their park up. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was hard to find due to road construction (No Signs). Park is small with 2 levels. Wouldn't recommend lower level for anything longer than 30ft. We were in site C5 pull-through. Getting into site can be tight with a 40 footer with toad because trees and telephone pole. We had to disconnect toad and still brushed tree branches with the side of our coach getting in. Friendly RVers and owners of the park. Many rules and says no using RV washers? Also didn't like the flood irrigating of sites. No warning and couldn't even walk around the coach. Didn't feel this park is as nice as the reviews say. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Now I am not in the habit of rating a park 10 unless the park goes far and away above the line of duty to earn it. This is one of those. Rancho Verde is a lot like the Desert Rose in Fernley Nevada. Rest rooms and showers that literally reek with clean. Grounds that are impeccably maintained, and owners that are people you are proud to know. Want to see the real meaning of Christian people? Stop by and visit them. The Wi-Fi was so good I was able to e-mail a file of 15 photos as fast on my laptop as I ever could at home on my desktop. Overall a really nice stay. Hmmm, think I'll stay another night just because I can. Try this place you will love it. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed here in a 45' motorhome in a nice pull through. Maneuverability for the coach and toad was good. The park owners are very active in keeping the place spotless and well maintained. This was a perfect base for us as we explored northern Arizona including Prescott, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. BIG RIGS: Do NOT use GPS to find park from I-17. It'll take you through a neighborhood. Recommend following directions found on web site ( Come in on W. Horseshoe Bend off Hwy 260). Very friendly staff with easy access for big rigs. We stayed in the lower section that had a small stream behind us, but there's no sewer by the stream. Satellite worked great. A real gem of an RV Park. The trees are a real treat in this part of the country and there is a grass area between sites. The roads and drives are level gravel but the picnic table patio is concrete.The owners are very helpful and it is a real quiet location. They have campsites on two levels; the lower level sites back onto a fast moving irrigation canal. I'm sure that children are welcome but there are no play facilities. Wi-Fi is weak and intermittent. This is one of my favorite parks thus far: small, quiet, enough trees to help shade but not block my satellite dome (except in the W&E only which I opted out of. Would have been fine with a movable manual dish. The trees were tall and behind the sites, blocking the view to the south). The park is kept spotless. The owners are tireless and extremely helpful. Nice sized sites, mostly back-ins (the pull-throughs are actually back-to-back dual back-in sites, but if you are the first, you can pull through). The restrooms are private with a keyless code lock on the outside. The laundry facility was wonderful. I plan to visit again. Will stay a month next time, rather than just a week. Based on the quiet location, the price and the reviews of this park, we stayed here 4 nights and would recommend it to anyone. The lower level, with a few W&E sites ($23) along the ditch, is very nice and provides shade. The bathrooms were always clean, and the park is well-taken care of, and the owners are super nice. Didn't use the Wi-Fi, and cable TV would have been nice, but there's okay TV reception on antenna, and the Verizon aircard and phone were fine. Small grassy area for dogs too. We stayed here while applying for a job in Camp Verde. The owners are very nice Christian people who bend over backwards to help you. We stayed in the downhill part of the park which made for a hard uphill walk for someone with my disabilities, but heck, I needed to cowboy up and walk more. Onsite owners, are super people who go out of their way to be as helpful as possible and are very welcoming. We have wintered here for several years and consider Rancho Verde our second home. We spend at least two months here each winter. All services, medical and otherwise, are available within 12 miles. There are many nearby attractions. Next door to Camp Verde Western Horizons Park just off Highway 260. We spent a week here. The owners, are most helpful & friendly. This park is immaculate & they are constantly cleaning & painting. They are always available to answer questions. A great place to stay while visiting Montezuma's Castle, Sedona, Jerome and Oak Creek Canyon. Cottonwood nearby has a Super Wal-Mart. A great inexpensive place to park a rig to visit all the fabulous scenery within an hours drive, i.e., the red rocks, Sedona, Jerome, the Verde Valley RR, etc. Great people, clean facility, right off the Interstate. A small park along the main road into town, close to grocery store and PO. Came here for the convenient location and cable TV (many channels, but not sharp). Weekly price was good, $167 w/ cable but daily price is too high: $30 + $2 cable. Only 2 unisex bathrooms, large but not cleaned the past 4 days. Only has 2 washer/dryers. Entire surface of park is rock, which your dog will hate. At least half the place consists of residents; very few travelers came in. Much nicer parks available in the area. The manager was friendly and helpful at check-in. Roads and sites are gravel and mostly level. Some sites have the sewer connection near the front requiring a long hose. The park is convenient to downtown Camp Verde with easy access to and from I-17. We stayed here for a week for $160. There are no discount plans, but taxes are included in the rates. There is a propane fill station, a dump station and laundry. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price is ROD. 2 weeks free, but we would probably not stay here again, even for free. An old, aging park with little upgraded. The Wi-Fi is Tengointernet and only allowed 400 mb per day. While at the RV show in Quartzsite this winter, I received a coupon for 3 free nights of camping at Camp Verde RV Resort, if we agreed to listen to a 90 minute sale pitch. During the sales pitch, we learned that the discount price (if you buy today) was over $8,000 with an annual fee of $399 plus $199 a year for resort directories. That was pretty shocking especially considering the condition of this “resort.” There is a clubhouse and recreation building which might add credibility to the “resort” billing. There is a pool which is not heated. In contrast, the resorts we stay at in the Rio Grande Valley have heated pools. Many sites did not have sewer hookups and the electric was only 30 amp at many sites. The sites are gravel/grass and most of the interior roads are gravel. This is an aging park in need of serious upgrades to its infrastructure before it can truly call itself a resort. When I told the sales guy that, before I could sign the contract, I would need to read it, he became aggressive and told me, "That’s not true. You’re just using that as an excuse.” The sales pitch rapidly went downhill from there and we walked out of the meeting as he said, "You will never get another free night of camping from us.” I guess too many people have taken advantage of the free camping without buying a membership. We have camped here 2 previous years and enjoyed our stay. This time was very disappointing. New management very rude (except) for the landscape man. We were here through RPI and were treated like second class citizens. Were put in no sewer site with no chance of moving. On previous visits this park was pet friendly and we were able to set up our pet kennel, but not this trip. We would understand if each space had a lawn but there is only 2% grass and the rest is goat heads and fox tails. We were also told we could not use our Fire in a Can because it was a state law, no fires. Well that may be true on state land,wilderness areas but not true in private RV Parks. We have been all over AZ and used our fire in a can Everywhere. We left 2 days earlier than scheduled and left them with the $20, maybe they can buy grass seed for one of the sites. We will come back to this area but not this RV Park. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PARK. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate with RPI. We have stayed here before and the rating dropped because of broken promises. A manager change early in January has not been a good thing. RPI rate. This CG is close to I-17. The CG staff is super helpful and friendly. Most sites are full hookup, 30 AMP and mostly level gravel. There is ample room between sites with grass buffers and some mulberry trees. We cleared our site of leaves, raking into nice piles, but no one picked them up the whole week. There is cafe in the Lodge, good food, excellent cinnamon rolls and fresh bread daily. Lots of activities and amenities and everything clean. The pool is open but not heated, good for a Polar Bear swim this time of year. Hot tub is good. CG a good place to do the "week out," or longer. A nice park for a week or day. I stayed a week and found it quite acceptable. Sites are grass and gravel; some leveling is required. Most have a picnic table. There are large shade trees in many sites especially along the fenced creek. A game room with pool table and dart boards. Club house has breakfast and dinners. Good food, reasonable prices. There is no cable TV and forget about getting any antenna channels. If you need a satellite connection get an open site away from the trees. Huge swimming pool, but not heated. Water temp is similar to Lake Superior. I found the showers OK, but very old and pretty clean. Wi-Fi is worthless. Don't waste the $2.00 a day cost. The rate reflects Coast to Coast discount. Park is a nice place for a night or a week. Well kept and a very nice pool area. It has a separate game room building that is divided into an adult and children's areas, with pool tables, books, games, etc. The small cafe is open Friday through Sunday for breakfast and lunch and a dinner on Sunday night. Very good food, and very reasonable prices. One drawback was that we had a choice of either 50 amp/no sewer or 30 amp/sewer. Being in the desert and hot, we chose 50 amp/no sewer. The office staff was helpful, and we think that being Coast to Coast was the reason for the 30-50 amp choice as many empty sites had 50 amp/sewer. One drawback was that on the first day here, a guy came to the RV and talked us into a 2 hour sales pitch about joining Western Horizons. Very expensive plan, and after checking with the Better Business Bureau found it was rated an F. Close to Sedona for a short day trip, which was well worth the 30 minute drive. Not much in Camp Verde for entertainment or eating out. We paid the C2C rate. Would probably find another park if we were to come through here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 3 weeks. 2 weeks with RPI ($10) and one week at $25 a night. We really enjoyed this park with large sites. We started out with a site that had no sewer, but within 2 days we had a sewer site. This park has river sites, but the river was not flowing very much so you really couldn't see the water, but you could walk down to it. There is a restaurant on site; Salty's which is open 3 days a week with home made bread and excellent meals. The park is centrally located to all the sight seeing areas. Had a great time there. Only negative is there are a lot of goat heads and burrs in the grass, so not very pleasing for pets. Keep them on the roads. We will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our experience was spoiled by the hostile and rude behavior of the desk and office staff. We can only assume they have given up on this business are taking out their frustrations on the paying customers. Too bad. The campground itself is large and dusty (grass and gravel) and the condition of the facilities is average but a little tired. I could not recommend WHR membership to anyone at this point as their future does not look very secure and members are constantly pressured to attend high pressure sales meetings. Their sales practices are aggressive, unpleasant and deceptive and the ever-changing membership rules make it very hard to use the benefits touted. WHR have sold several of their resorts recently but have not offered to refund any membership fees paid. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

At least the hot tub was okay, but the shower room by pool is gross. Some sites are shaded, long and wide. Others are short back-ins. Not all are FHU's, be sure what you are getting. Has dirt sites, which are not level. The family of 7 next to us was too much; we left early. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a wonderful park. It's clean and well taken care of. One of the best Western Horizons parks. Price reflects RPI. Internet works great but there is a $2.00/day fee. Nice location. Sites were large, some with trees. Close to 2 major highways though you would never know it, no noise. Lots to see and do in the area and the office is very helpful and full of information. Would without a doubt, stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here using our Western Horizon membership. We had 50 amp, full hookups, and a table. The park is dusty with goats head stickers. The park is trying to re-grow the grass. Lots of dust, sometimes low voltage, and the sewer hookup was behind the coach requiring an extension on the sewer hose. Personnel were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again. This was a horrible experience. We asked for 50 amps and were given site #148 with no shade. Our voltage meter read 94, and the alarm went off everytime the AC came on. Felt like we were in a sauna: could only run one AC due to low voltage. Had to resort to our generator when using the microwave, our alternative was to turn off the AC. We requested a shady space, thinking the voltage was only low in that one space, (#27) WRONG! Had the same problem in the new site. I went around with my voltage meter seeking a site with higher voltage: does not exist in this park. All 30 & 50 amp sites registered below 95 volts. This place is no Resort! Its whole electrical system needs a serious overhaul. We originally planned to stay 3 weeks, after 5 hot stressful days, got a refund and moved over to a real resort, Distant Drums (posted a review). There we could run two AC's AND the microwave at once, and they also have are no trees. So we are now chillin in a real Resort with FREE unlimited WI-FI. The WI-FI here is NOT FREE, and is controlled so that you cannot download or watch news clips, etc., without purchasing additional time. We are Western Horizon members, and will NOT ever stay here again. As we move along the highways, we are finding similar conditions at many of the Western Horizon "Resorts"! Perhaps ten years ago they could call themselves a resort, but by today's standards, they are just low-powered campgrounds with added-on surcharges to members. What a letdown. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park under Resorts of Distinction. When we checked in we were told that since we had an extra vehicle (a motorcycle)(we have a Class A motorhome and a car), we had to pay $4.00 per night for the motorcycle. This is the first time we have ever been charged for an additional vehicle and we have stayed in WHR before. The office staff were rude. We had originally made a reservation for 7 nights, but we left after 2. We will never return to this "resort". We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camp Verde RV Resort is a Western Horizon Resort and we’re staying here under RPI. It is a small RV resort with an activity center, pool and hot tub, laundry, book exchange, pickleball courts, shuffleboard, and activities scheduled daily. The staff (well, the one woman with whom we spoke) was nice, and as typical with Western Horizon Resorts, their WiFi is not reliable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here under AOR. The rate was $6 + $1 for 30 amp/night. Our site had electric and water only. Park seems fine and has activities in the clubhouse. We were expecting full hook-ups and wi-fi. When we checked in, they said our site was EW only and the wifi wasn't working. By the next day, I was able to sign in and pay for wifi service with Tengo Internet, only to have it say "limited or no connectivity" within minutes of paying and I couldn't access it again for several hours. The wi-fi was "iffy" at best. Signal strength wasn't particularly good. Now that we have read the reviews on Distant Drums, I would stay there in future instead. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an outstanding small RV Park - well taken care of and reflecting pride in ownership. Like previous reviewers stated, this is a great place to stay. West Clear Creek flows adjacent to the RV Park and is accessible by a short level walk. The creek provides fishing and swimming opportunities. There are pools large enough to actually swim laps once the water warmed up by the middle of May. Wi-Fi is provided and for my Site the signal was too weak. Plenty of shade is provided by trees and selective sites can obtain satellite TV without much trouble. The only negative for this RV Park is the weekend Highway 260 noise and the noise created, at times, by the low rent district neighborhood across the highway. Must not forget, I rate the showers here the best of any RV Park in Arizona and perhaps the nation. I stayed here for over a month and I will not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've been stopping here since 2003. The park hasn't changed: Customer service is #1. In the newer section of the park, site 83 or 84, is where we stay. The sites are level gravel and wide. The satellite signal comes in great, and Wi-Fi is strong. The staff is super, and they rake the sites everyday. The down side of the park, if you need perfection, is from April to June the old cottonwood trees drop their cotton like pods. The park grounds look like snow has fallen. The staff cleans it up everyday, but the pods are messy. The other side of the coin is that the trees give off tremendous shade. Town is 9 miles away for big grocery items, and milk, etc. is a short walk across the highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park to visit in this part of Arizona. The sites are large and immaculate, the facilities exceptionately clean, the staff friendly and helpful. We were in a site far enough from the highway to be very quiet and the park itself is quiet. And very dark at night; good to see the stars and for sleeping. This park is without question the best place we have stayed in over 7 years of full time travel all over America. We don’t give praise unless it is deserved and this place earns all we can give. It is meticulously maintained in an impeccable condition and is located in the most gorgeous environment we’ve seen in a long time. Words will never begin to adequately describe the beauty here. And the park blends into it all perfectly and unobtrusively. All the ground is covered with small red gravel that is regularly raked of debris to make it smooth and clean. Each site has a picnic table and there are many large trees providing shade. The WiFi service was nearly always constant and strong. The laundry room has 4 washers and dryers and is maintained spotlessly. There is also a steam iron and board to use if you like. The restrooms in the laundry building have huge showers. There is a wonderfully comfortable small (2 person) hot tub that always worked wonderfully. A fire pit and wood is provided in the community gathering area and we spent many an evening chatting with other guests from all over the US and Europe. On Saturday mornings the owners (who live in the park) provide coffee and donuts in the pavilion. There is a trail we walked through the forest at the back of the park to the nearby creek. Always a delight. The spaces are quite large; the one we had (#19) was approximately 40’ wide by 60’ long. It backed up to a lawn area which ran across the back of all the sites in this row. It was quiet there and the WiFi was strong too. The water quality tested very good; only about 100 parts per million which is “city water” standards. There were no taste or pressure issues so we did not use a pressure reducer. Many of the folks we met are regulars and stay for months during the winter. The park is “adult oriented” so didn’t have screaming children and crying babies. Everyone is quite friendly and there is a definite sense of community. Folks remember your name and say hello when met again. The owners and hosts are top notch; very accommodating and helpful. We hesitated posting such a validating review fearing it would draw so many visitors we’d have trouble getting a spot in the future. But this park is truly special and absolutely deserves all the praise we can give. It is the only park we have ever been sorry to leave and is so good we actually considered staying on indefinitely. This is unquestionably the best place we have ever stayed, ever. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Work campers manage the park and are generally very friendly and helpful. Caters to 55+ group. Weekly coffee and donuts. It was hard not to rate this park a 10, but nothing in life is perfect, right? The rate is for a monthly stay. $375 + elec which is $.014 kWh + $5 fee to read the meter. It was hot while we were here: 104, so our overall monthly charge was ~$541 while running the a/c + washer/dryer. This is an extremely efficient park from stem to stern. There's no problem navigating a 39' TT into the spots where we would fit. The Wi-Fi works well in the park for the most part. Not all sites got super strong signal, plus there weren't many folks in the CG to pull on the bandwidth. The owners are so gracious. They made sure we had a site where we could hook-up a Quest modem because we are not retired and work from our TT full-time. We have honestly never seen a more clean park. They are constantly raking the pea size gravel, putting down water to keep the dust down, and grooming the trees of which there are PLENTY at Zane Grey. Some sites are on the road. We are road sensitive and don't think it would be too bad to be placed here. It's obvious there is great love and care with this CG. The restrooms were as clean as my own home. The sites are level for the most part. There is a grass area. The folks who stayed along that area needed insect spray if you had the sweet skin they love to eat. They do recycle. There is a path that takes you down to a seasonal creek. We saw deer, a grey fox, lizards, elk close by and we heard there are javelins, but did not see any. The CG neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. There are donuts/coffee each Saturday and corn hold is serious here: holding tournaments during the Winter season. This park is not advertised as a 55+ park but there's not a lot for the little ones to do here other than ride their bike or hit the trail. They do have a hot tub. This CG is about eight miles from town which provides the basics. There aren't a lot of "good" restaurants in town. The closest Wal-Mart is 23 miles away in Cottonwood, whose corporate limits are 15 miles away. This is where we'd go for most of our supplies. We liked it so much we are coming back for the 2012 Winter season. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is beautiful, clean RV park. If you are going because you want to be near Sedona, it's a bit far. Our only complaint was the leaf blowers that the camp workers used. They used these noisy things for several hours every morning. One morning it was at 0630! There was some road noise, but the blowers made a lot more noise. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Being "full timers," my wife and I have stayed at many RV parks and resorts. This one is at the very top of the list! Friendly people, polite and just plain NICE. The park is HIGHLY maintained with large beautiful sites, most all have shade trees (mature tall ones) and the nearby creek helps keep the temperature cooler. So many things to do that are close-by, with dinning and clubs, wilderness, Native American ruins and culture. You have to plan your stay and activities to enjoy so much. After a month, we have decided to stay the whole summer and most of the fall. The locals match the attitude and friendship of the RV park's hosts and owners. We have been made to feel right at home here and in the near-by town of Camp Verde. The best food with the lowest prices of anywhere we have been so far. We can not recommend any park more highly than Zane Gray! It's an experience in enjoyment and content. You will not be disappointed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Quiet at night. I requested and was given a pull through site with a clear view for my roof mounted satellite dish. Wi-Fi was very fast, bathrooms clean, staff friendly and someone escorted me to my site. While there is enough room between sites to put slides out, the park is somewhat cramped and having a staff person as a second pair of eyes was really appreciated, especially when leaving. Park was very quiet, clean, and just outside the small city of Camp Verde. Our space was surrounded by trees (lots of shade) and level. Our space was tight (close) to other campers and provided little room for outside comfort. Space between you and fellow campers was minimal. Park offers hiking trails and a small pet playground. Be sure to visit Montezuma Castle and Fort Verde State Historical Park. This park is close to Sedona and Prescott Arizona. See website for more attractions and details. This is an excellent RV Park along a riparian zone and beneath the canopy of Cottonwood Trees. It is the trees providing the prime outstanding character and appearance for this RV Park. West Clear Creek is a short walk from the sites and it was flowing well during our stay. There are catch-able size trout in the creek. Finding the Common Black Hawk here is a can't miss experience. Access roads and the level sites are composed of fine brownish red gravel. Most sites are about 30 feet wide or more. The utilities here are top-notch and problem free. The Wi-Fi is excellent with better than average speed. There are no amenities to justify an excessive daily rate. Like ourselves, many who come here stay for a week or more. The monthly rate is a bargain and our price reflects the monthly rate. The shade from the trees is pleasant on the hot days. They do drop volumes of cotton and leaves. They do block the satellite TV reception at some sites. The owner is somewhat obsessive with keeping the place clean. The restrooms are charming and spotless. The RV Park is only as good as the neighbors. Across the street and to the immediate east there are residential areas. Typical sounds of barking dogs, loud music and parties project frequently into the RV Park. During commute time and on weekends, adjacent Highway 260 presents considerable traffic noise. The RV Park, unfortunately, has a buddy site, which presented some problems with excessive loud and rude party RV people. A big plus for this place is the outstanding friendly dedicated work camper staff. We will likely return when in the area again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We happened upon this little gem last year in our travels through the area. It is a very small park. It is quiet. However the grounds keeper really likes to use his leaf blower all day. Which leads me to the next comment about it being spotless. Absolutely spotless!! The gravel parking lot is literally raked everyday. The spots are level. The staff is friendly. The only caveat is the lack of cable TV, but you can get several channels on your antenna. It is reasonably close to Sedona. It is a great place. We would definitely come again. This is a great small park with friendly owners living in the park. Everything is spotless and well maintained. Mature trees and landscaping, but satellite will work at most sites. Only a few long term sites and no junk. Some highway noise at the front, but little traffic at night. All utilities and WiFi at site work well. Roads, pads, and patios are pea gravel in excellent conditions, very little dust. Lack of pavement and cable TV are all that keep this park from being a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Only 2 negatives, one the restrooms/showers were very hot no A/C and fans run on low from light switch. Two the traffic on the highway is close by and noticeable all the time. It was very hot (90's) when we were there and the park was very empty, the management sponsored a picnic on the 4th but the people were mostly full timers and mostly unfriendly. It is a great place to tour the area but nobody is ever outside in the park, very strange. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We loved staying at this small peaceful RV Park. It's beautifully maintained and each site is tree-shaded but not so much that it's a problem getting the dish TV signal. There are about a dozen seasonal RVs and the rest stay a shorter time. The seasonals have returned year after year and are extremely friendly and inclusive. I had a great time playing cards with them two afternoon. All the seasonal campers and the owners take great pride in the upkeep of the campground. There is a huge pile of firewood to be used, I'm told, for daily campfires and to heat the campfire in the mid-sized recreation tent. I'm also told that they have lots of pot-lucks and other get-together. Each Saturday there is coffee and donuts. The only reason I didn't give this campground a 10 is that the website states it's on the Clear Creek - technically, it is on it but not without a walk to see it this time of the year. We will definitely camp here, again, when we are in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an adult-oriented, quiet, exceptionally clean and well-managed park in a rural setting eight miles from Camp Verde which makes for a very pleasant environment. Most sites have a split rail fence and shrubs between them and plenty of trees on the grounds, but they do not interfere with vehicle maneuverability. There is plenty of room for very big rigs. The bathrooms and laundry room are spotless. Very good WI-FI, but no cable TV. Can receive several Phoenix stations with antenna. The only drawback is a very low tolerance by management and longer-term residents for barking dogs, even inside campers, so consider that before selecting this campground. If your dog barks while you are sightseeing, you will be advised by management and told to put a muzzle on it or take it with you. Dogs are not prohibited and there are several small dogs in the park, but we recommend this campground for people who have no dogs or whose dogs are infrequent barkers. Except for the dog situation, this park would rate 10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice park with a friendly atmosphere. The rate is for one month including electric. The Wi-Fi was excellent. The park has plenty of room for any size RV with easy in and out. You are 8 miles out of town which was one reason for the 9 and the second is no cable TV which should be a given in a park like this. You can ride bikes, walk and hike right from park. We would stay here again. Even though the highway is along park boundary the road noise was not noticeable. The restroom/shower were the cleanest I have ever seen at a park. The owners keep the park very neat and well raked. There are lots of large trees for shade in the summer. We visited in the winter, and most of the trees were bare. Satellite viewing can be difficult from many of the sites. Originally we could not find the DirecTV satellite from our spot. We were moved from 37 to 31 and had no trouble finding the signal from the 101 satellite. Phoenix stations are available with a regular antenna. The sites are more than ample for big rigs and space to park another vehicle if towing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very well manicured and maintained park. The sites are all level and large enough to accommodate the big rigs. The showers and restrooms are clean, but kept a little too cool inside for this time of year. There is a nice covered area for groups to assemble. The downside for us was the fact that there is no grass at the sites, (pea gravel sites)which makes it very dusty and pebbles are easily tracked into the rig. To add to the dust, every day the maintenance staff is blowing leaves as they fall to the ground with gas leaf blowers, stirring up more dust and making it so that you can't be outside to enjoy the peace and quiet that you would expect at a campground. Leaf blowing starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm daily! We stayed here in a 5th wheel. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campgrounds are shady and level. The maintenance crew works continually raking the pea gravel throughout the sites. This place is very nice for the elderly. The best way I can sum it up is that this is a place where the "regulars" gather in the morning, share their daily stories, do their toddys, and disappear into their RVs by noon. If you have any activities outdoors in the late afternoon, or heaven forbid, in the evening, you will have staff visiting you. I am talking so much as lights or a card game. The place is transformed into a cemetery by nightfall. I will admit it is well kept and nice in the trees in this part of Arizona however if you are pre-sixty and like to talk and laugh after six PM, your in for quite a restful stay. Bring headphones if you like music. We will not stay again. We are 56 yrs old and too young for this place. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The only reason this park failed to get a 10 from me is the lack of a pool. The camp sites are level, gravel but a fine mesh gravel and not prone to track ins. Most sites are well shaded and wide. Separation is a nice split rail fencing and also trees. This gives you nice privacy as well as shade and helps should any wind blow. They keep this place clean and neat. After each camper leaves they clean the sites and rack them to make sure no tracks are left in the gravel. That's neat. Throughout the day the grounds are being patrolled and kept in order. Top notch. Yes, I would return. A cozy place that makes you feel secure and welcome. The camp staff were extremely friendly. Good power, water pressure was fine contrary to a previous poster saying otherwise, they had strong Wi-Fi at my site although I did not use it as I used my Verizon card. Good service on that too here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The monthly rate here was $345. This is an extremely clean and friendly park. Most of the campers are older with many repeat visitors, some long term. They put in a dog play area while we were there. The Wi-Fi is flaky depending on where your space is - there is an apparent issue with adjacent Wi-Fi to the park which causes an IP address conflict. There were too many trees for us to use our roof top mounted internet satellite dish. The same issue would exist for many spaces for satellite TV. It is an excellent location for exploring the Verde Valley area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here close to home [5 miles away] to check out our new travel trailer. We had driven past this park may times and it looked good. After one night we can confirm this is a 10 operation. An older group in a quiet park with ample shade. The hot tub was fabulous. If you're looking for peace and quiet with no unruly kids or beer parties you will be happy here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice clean and well maintained adult park. Would have gotten a (10) if they provided fire rings. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms very clean. We had a pullthrough site and it was great. A little highway noise but not really not that bad. Nice dog walks also. Staff always cleaning something and always willing to stop and talk or assist in any way. Provided coffee and donuts one weekend morning which made it easy to meet some other peopl. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is very nice, with lots of shade. The spaces are gravel, but very clean, raked neatly, and level. I can only best describe it as a hide-a-way type setting. There is a creek just a short hike behind the park in a grove of Cottonwood trees. It is very, very quiet and peaceful, almost to the point of being too quiet. Other campers seemed almost reclusive, and didn't mingle much. However, the camp hosts were very friendly and interested in our comfort. They advertise WiFi in the park, but I could not find it. I tried to connect from my space but could not; although I did not ask for help either. Water pressure seemed to be very low at times, but everything was always in an excellent state of repair. We brought our ATVs along as there are loads of trails to explore, and we were able to ride right in and out of the park as long as we were street legal and obeyed the park rules. The public restrooms and showers were spotless. There there is a small hot tub available, as well as lots of shaded picnic tables and gas BBQ grills available for your use. But for the low water pressure and hard to find WiFi, I would have rated this park a "9". The climate here tends to be a little warm in the summer, but we will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

More than we ever expected! Grounds are beautiful, and spotless! The landscape is the best we have seen in over a year of traveling through 6 states! We will be here for 2 weeks, and hope to return again sometime next year! Office staff could not be nicer! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have been on the road in my 36 foot fifth-wheel (single F, 41, in a 2001 Alpenlite) since last May. I've had one good experience after another and was amazed to find that the RV community welcomed me with open arms. I wasn't prepared for the experience I had at Zane Gray, and am still, a few days later, trying to process it. I originally reserved a space at a place in Cottonwood, because I wanted to be as close to Sedona as possible, but upon arrival (another first) was really uncomfortable in that park. Had lots of clutter and no lights at night, permanent residents knocking on my door, wearing a lot of cologne and marveling at "how much we have in common" (aigh). I don't feel safe. So I called Zane Gray and asked the woman about a monthly space. She seemed very nice and said she had two people who were likely leaving this weekend. She didn't know which space I'd be in, and I told her moving mid-month wasn't a problem. She said she'd let the people in the office tomorrow know that this was in the works and that they were going to work to get me in somewhere, hopefully, likely, by Monday. I asked if I could stop by that afternoon to look around, that it looked lovely but that I'd just like to get a feel for the layout of the place. She said, "Sure, come on down." When I walked into the office I felt like I was talking to a completely different person. She said that she'd received some calls and that the spaces were now spoken for, I knew three minutes into the conversation, given the way she was responding, that that wasn't the truth, that she didn't want me to stay here, but I couldn't work out why. I was baffled. It occured to me at that moment that I'd never experience anything like this before and I suddenly felt even greater empathy for every person of color who was ever turned away from a job interview. I told her that their place looked even better in person, was just beautiful, and that I was sure there wasn't a "bad" space in the park and would be happy to be squeezed in anywhere. I asked about the space she finally admitted wasn't reserved until May, right on the hwy, and asked if I was able to confirm that reservation in an hour or two if I could have that space and she stuttered and paused and looked really uncomfortable and said: "Welllllll, you know, if someone calls between now and then, I'll have to give it to them." I'm a nice person: kind, considerate, quick to put others at ease. I still correspond with the owners of several parks I've visited. I like people, old and young, and they like me. I'm 5'7", 120 lbs. (Picture a zen Sandra Bullock.) One park owner told me that they've never had a resident hook up mid-month and pull forward to allow them to mow the grass under the rig. I was wearing a clean white t-shirt and khaki shorts, and clean white tennis shoes. I remained polite, and positive and said, "Ok, absolutely, I understand. Let's give it a go. I'll check with the place I'm at and call you right back, and if it's still available, I'd love to take it." But I knew that when I called, I would be told that the space was suddenly spoken for. As I was leaving she said, "Can I ask you a question? How old are you?" I said, "Sure, I'm 41", and she look surprised. She then asked me if I had a boyfriend? It was clear at this point that this was her concern. She was afraid, given my age (41?) and marital status that I'd be somehow disruptive or, (?) bring strange men home to stay the night? I dunno. I told her that I'm a mountain biker and photographer, and aspiring travel writer. A health nut: don't drink, don't smoke, don't have a boyfriend and (with a grin) am not looking for one. I told her that I work out of my rig, enjoy my own company and am just here to hike, bike and soak up the beautiful landscape. I said "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't realize. Do you have an age limit here?" She said they didn't, that it was an adult park, it's just that people here really like peace and quiet. I told her I appreciate that as I do as well and seek out those kind of parks myself. She looked a little reassured but I left there feeling like I not only didn't want to stay there anymore, I wanted to leave the area. She yelled after me that I could back up and leave the way I came in. It was my second unpleasant experience in 24 hours and I had never been regarded by anyone, in my life, as someone who wouldn't make for a good neighbor. On the way home I was nearly in tears. I had to drive directly to Sedona from there just to find a reason to stick it out, to remind myself why I'm here. It was sunset: beautiful. I went back to my scary park in Cottonwood, found my creepy neighbor standing next to my rig, and was so anxious to just get inside that I tripped in the dark on the 1/2 step leading up to my rig, fell flat on my face (with a half twist) and ended my day, face-up on a concrete slab, looking up at the stars with a bleeding hand and elbow. I've since re-read the reviews for this park and see that someone else had a similar experience at Zane Gray. I'm sorry to say that even I wonder about the reviewer when it's just one individual reporting that they've had a bad experience, in this case been turned away without explanation, when there are so many other great reviews, but I know now that this person probably experienced what I did, and left feeling just as confused. So, beautiful as it is, I wouldn't recommend this park to others and wouldn't advise anyone to count on these owners to keep their word. Strange things happen at this park when clean-cut, friendly travelers show up in person. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow! Friendly, courteous and very hospitable! Yes the staff as well as the guests! Very clean! We stayed here during the Christmas season and they even had our site decorated for us when we arrived! Great for dogs, nice socialization. I would recommend this to short term as well as long term. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great place. The staff was very friendly, rest rooms, showers and laundry room were spotless. Very wide and deep pull throughs, every site had a table. No cable, but with the antennae we received at least six channels and they were very clear. Can't wait to go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We love this park. We have been here 3 times and all 3 times we were made to feel welcome. Managers are very accommodating and the park is kept very clean. Laundry room was spotless as were the restrooms. Does get a little buggy in evening but those Arizona nights are awesome. Only down side was no cable, tv reception was poor. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Zane Grey RV Park is one of the nicest, well maintined parks that we have ever stayed in. The owners and hosts, were great and willing to do anything to make our stay a memorable one. We have already made reservations to return for a second weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very clean, well-maintained park. The landscaping is beautiful and there are lots of beautiful shade trees. The managers are friendly and helpful. The park is geared to retirees. We enjoyed a pre-Thanksgiving Day potluck there. There is some traffic noise, mostly during the day. The park recently added WiFi that was available at our site. The one amenity that the park should add is Cable TV. The reception from our antenna was not very good. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
