Don't be deterred by the relatively low rating; it is largely because parts of this campground are a work in progress. This is an excellent overnight stop in an area of Arizona that has few options. The sites are large and easy to get in to. The owner, who also operates a 100,000 acre ranch nearby, is very friendly. There are a fair number of long-term residents, but their sites are much more picked-up than typical. According to the owner, the place can really be full of construction workers when there is maintenance in progress at either of the nearby power plants, so check availability before you show up. Also, there are no signs that I saw along the main highway directing you to the park, so map the location out before you arrive. This is a real bargain at $20 for full hookups including 50 amp electric. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice older park. Has large sites with plenty of room between sites. Ours was fairly level. The new owners are planning upgrades like restrooms and showers, which the park does not currently offer. Very friendly new owners, and we would stay at Moon Meadows again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A mile or so north of town, at the west end, this RV/trailer park is a good deal. Level sites with shade. Electric and water only as far as we could tell, but the hosts were very friendly and attentive. We were probably the only transients, but everybody was pleasant. They are not in Trailer Life guide, but the host said she is working on a website for the park. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
