This is no longer a Passport America campground. It is still shown by Passport America on its primary site, but if you go to the deleted campgrounds, it shows it is no longer a member. We were in travel mode getting in late, so I did not look further. The cable has major over the air networks only, and the Wi-Fi was not working. Probably an OK price for Williams, but for me it was overpriced. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We called ahead to see about a site for a couple of nights. We told them we had Passport America. When we arrived, the rate was more than the printed rate in the P/A book. We were told that the owner had raised the rates three months prior and the notice was posted on the inside of the door. They also said they told everyone who called. We told them they didn't tell us. We pulled into the site which was fairly level but full of tall weeds and cigarette butts. There are light poles at each end of the site (long enough to accommodate 2 RV's) and more than 75% of them either had no bulb or the bulb had blown out. There was a walkway that led towards town but it too was full of weeds and trash. The restrooms at first glance looked clean. I ended up sharing my shower with a huge spider and crickets who appeared halfway through it. The seat in the handicap shower stall was full of mold and mildew. The toilets weren't much cleaner either. It seems as though the help is there for the free ride as no one was out and about picking up or cleaning the place, except for emptying the outside trash bins. Breakers being held in place with black tape, broken cable boxes, and bent over water hookups. We saw no one doing anything outside for the two days we were there. Permanent RV's in the back of the park don't help the overall appearance either. We would bypass this park when going through as there are better alternatives in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice RV Park, all sites paved, well marked. 30/50 amp all sites. Most are pull through but some are back in. Rate reflects Passport America rate. Picnic tables at all sites. Community fire pit and gas grills near bath house / laundry. They offer a shuttle between the RV Park and the hotel/scenic train. Swimming pool, health club, dining available at hotel. Area between sites is lava rock type, easily tracked in to rigs. They have a "dog walk" of crushed rocks along outer edge of campground with lots of trash bins and doggie doo baggies. But no where to run dog off leash. Our biggest issue was proximity to railroad tracks / some sites are 100' away. Trains have to blow whistle for road crossing: most nights only 1 train in middle of night, but some times 2. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very clean gravel park with large pull-through sites. One block from highway I-40. Minimal noise. Very close to the historic town of Williams and Route 66. Stayed here with Passport America rate, in order to visit the Grand Canyon. Staff friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I consider the park tight and the trees make access interesting. Wi-Fi and cable worked OK. My main problem here was with a couple of inconsiderate RVers. One of which pulled in his RV the wrong way and let his generator run for over 6 hrs. The managers son finally got them to come back to the park and get in their correct space and hookup to shore power. The staff is friendly. I would stay again if I could get the spot I was in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

All of the parks in Williams are over priced and this one is no exception. Highway was noisy with truck traffic. Wi-Fi system is weak at best. Un-tethered dogs at various sites. Some of the permanent tenant sites are a bit sketchy. The sites are quite narrow. Other than that, it is an ok stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice parking lot. Level sites, clean restrooms and showers, Some permanent residents, some shade but no recreation. Office staff was friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a clean park, level sites and very clean bath facilities. The availability of cable TV is suspect, mainly because there were several source wires, none of which worked. The Wi-Fi did not work when we first arrived; however, the problem was corrected. We appear to now have a consistently strong signal at our site. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I can't say enough nice about this place. The staff is very very helpful and friendly. The facilities are very clean and up to date. We've had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a park near the Grand Canyon. There are some long term residents, yet their sites are not loaded with the 'yard garbage' that most long term residents at other parks seem to have. There is a consistent 'come & go' with folks leaving and coming in, yet the park has a very peaceful and tranquil aspect to it. Television, not so good, but with the Grand Canyon so close, and plenty of cute Route 66 Shops in town, who needs TV. Wi-Fi connection good and strong and allowed me to make a large amount of image uploads to the internet with relative ease. There is no doubt that this is one of my favorite parks. The only thing that I could possibly complain about is the red lava rocks on the ground turned my black and white Shih Tzu pup: black and pink. However, I was able to bathe him in the large sink in the laundry room. If that's as bad as it gets: I got no complaints!!! Job well done Canyon Gateway! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Entry was rough. Site was not level. View of the storage lot. Didn't look at restrooms and showers. Site ground surface was hard but the coach registered excess slope. The size of site was good with tight access and park roads. It was quiet even though you could see the highway. Might stay again. Price was Passport America for one night. We stopped for the Planes of Fame Museum up the road but discovered we are been here years before. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I would give this RV park a 10 except for the entrance. The park needs to do some drive way work, the motorhome rocked from side to side as we crossed the entrance. Other than that it's an ideal place to stay. We will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners were very helpful & friendly. Sites were level and the cottonwood trees for shade were great. Campground was easy to find and there was a good layout of hook-ups. Our rate reflects Passport America discount, which is only 3 days maximum. Regular rate is $40; which seems a little high. We stayed for three days. We would gladly camp there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here three nights to visit the Grand Canyon. It is ok for a short stay. Cable TV is supposed to be available but isn't for most of the park. Same for the WiFi. Park is basically covered with lava rock which does eliminate mud problems. Rate reflects Passport America rate. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I would give this park a 10! Its far better than the fancy stuck-up $800 a month RV parks we were at. The view was so beautifu. Great seeing the Prairie Dogs running in the distance. The Park manager was very nice, good people. Super nice clean bathrooms with showers and laundry area. The site was Red gravel and no problem leveling our 5th wheel. Easy access to everywhere. Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and Williams was a great little town also. I highly recommend this RV to anyone. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is easily accessible from I-40. Driveway in was short but large ruts. The staff was friendly and informative about the area. The laundry room was adequate except that the two times we used it we found the campground staff was using the facilities as well. The campground is a little run down-we were told if we wanted cable to hook up to the site behind us. We were also told the Wi-Fi was not working that well - we didn't need it so didn't even try. Our main concern was the grounds-there was no good area to walk the dog - the red clay and stones were terrible and we all had to clean off our feet every time we went out because of the goat head stickers. We will not return to this campground. The rate reflects Passport America discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy 1mile walk to town, if desired. The Campground is run by men, so more "business-like" than friendly, but would stay here again. LP gas 1 mi way with .20 cent discount. Also, .20 cent discount at adjoining Chevron makes it cheapest in Williams, which still is NOT cheap. If coming from the east, top off in Flagstaff--.50 cheaper per gal. Can handle largest rigs imaginable. The easy access to I40 nice. If using PA discount, the fees must be paid in cash only! There were clean restrooms and showers, although 1/2 the lighting was flickering. There was no soap in the sink dispensers for our visit. The rate reflects weekly stay with discounts. 'Net down for 5 days was real bummer, although they had DSL line available in laundry room. It was fixed on our last day. It can handle largest rigs imaginable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park is an open, red clay field with hook-ups. Cable TV was snowy. Other utilities worked well. A few trashed trailers on site. OK for short stay. Only thing in Williams is the Grand Canyon Railway: which is overpriced, but OK if you prefer not to drive to the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good access for a big rig, long space. Cable TV was a very few channels and snow on some. Lava rock road is dusty and large size nuggets sometimes hard to walk on and our dogs hated it. They now have sore feet. Management very friendly and helpful. Good access to Grand Canyon, less than an hour drive in our car. Close to the train station where trains go daily to the canyon. Good spot for a quick visit to Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice staff. Clean rest rooms and laundry room. Large wide open campground with red gravel roads and sites. This was a little messy. But all in all a good deal for the price. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed one night. Nice pull through site. Sites were separated nicely. Great Wi-Fi access and cable TV. Adjacent to forest so lots of places to walk the dogs. People were very friendly. Got a doggie bag and a person bag. Clean restrooms and showers. Would come again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very friendly check in. Site is covered with volcanic rock which is odd to walk in. Didn't track in, so it was okay. Restrooms and showers are ceramic tiles and very clean. Laundry room has new clean units. Our cable TV worked well, but apparently gophers had been chewing their lines. The Wi-Fi did not work, and I didn't get a lot of response when I mentioned it. For the PA price, it was a nice, safe campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is ok but certainly nothing special. The driveway into the park is rutted and very, very bumpy. The check in process was fine. After hooking up, we tried the cable and it was not working. We checked with the owner (?) and he said, "Yah, some work and some don't." That was the end of that discussion. No concern. The volcanic rock they use is not comfortable to walk on nor sit your chairs on. The full-timers who live here do not have the neatest sites in the world. We would not stay here again. If you just want a night's stay to sleep, it is probably satisfactory. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects PA plus tax. Easy access off I-40 & all pull through sites. Some sites have trees but not hard to pull in without unhooking. No real amenities here but definitely good for a stop over. The crushed red volcanic rock could be an issue if it rains but we had no problems. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Camped here overnight in route to Grand Canyon. Very friendly staff. Easy access to Williams and the freeway. Full hookups available. You can hear freeway and train noise, but not as bad as other RV parks located closer to Williams. Would stay here again if traveling through Arizona in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We enjoyed staying here with full hookups. ($21 per night is Passport America rate including tax.) Even though they request 48-hr. notice, we were still able to get the PA rate for 3 nights, but didn't realize that we would need to pay cash. Entire campground is crushed volcanic rock with a few trees that provide minimal shade. Campground is clean. Some road noise because it's close to I-40 and an occasional faint train whistle. It was easy to get into our site. This was a great stopover in order to take the Grand Canyon Railway as a day trip. We had a great time on the train--well worth it! The nearby town of Williams is on historic Route 66 and offers lots of fun, good places to eat--some with a little nostalgia. Staged Old West gunfights when we were here in the summer. There is a Safeway grocery store in town, too. For the price, this was a great park for us. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV park is located right off the highway which is convenient. After that, forget it. Although Wi-Fi is offered, it never worked. The staff said we'd have to bring the computer to the office. There were derelict RV's parked all over the campground and it looked run down. There is nothing but lava rock to drive or walk on and nothing what-so-ever to do here. The City of Williams is a fun place to visit, but we'd rather pay more to stay at a nice place than ever come back to Canyon Gateway RV park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here July 5 and June 21. The park is easily accessible and very organized. We were told on our first visit that we needed to call 2 days in advance to use Passport America, he gave us the discount. We called the next time. There was a thunderstorm that night and despite the gravel sites and roads it was not a problem leaving. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For short stays this park is OK. Staff is friendly, hookups are good, spots are spacious, good location easy in easy out. Double sites worked well for us , we had 2 trailers with plenty of room. I would agree with other posters that the surface is a little rough on the feet, wear good shoes and it’s fine. This park has the potential of being a great park with a little work and clean up. Would stay here again for a short stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wi-Fi was good at my site. Park was clean, but I agree that the entry road needs to be fixed. Go slow and the rest of the roads fine. Hookups are good, but double sites are weird. Very windy, but not the park's fault. I am Passport America, and the manager treated me great. Any other complaints are probably not because of PA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The rate was for Passport members. We had very limited reception for cable TV nor the internet. When we complained, the manager did not seem to care. He did re-boot the Wi-Fi system and it worked for a while. However our TV reception never did work. I got the impression that had we paid full price (and not the Passport rate), things might have been different. We promptly moved the next morning. Would not return here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was clean, easy access and all utilities were good. Only down side was the lava gravel was so large it was even hard to walk on. Would stay only overnight next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good for an overnight stay. The entry road is horrible and you have to crawl over it; the park roads are only slightly better. The site layout is different. They are extremely long, but could be used as two separate sites, one unit behind the other. The sites are gravel and fairly level. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here in a 45' RV. This was an overnight stop. We called ahead, asked what the rate was for the number of people in our RV. The gentleman that we spoke with on the phone told us 34, don't worry about the extra children. When we arrived, the man at the desk informed us that the price went up twelve dollars. He was not polite, and not helpful. IMHO, I would rather stay at an RV park that isn't as nice, but has helpful staff. I do not care for a place that will not honor their word. Otherwise, be careful of the trees that mark each site. It was tight. Everything is dirt/mud, depending on when you arrive. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All the previous reviews were accurate as to the conditions of this campground. Our site was close to level and the hookups were convenient to our utility bay. If they were busy and doubled up on the sites, there could be some hookup problems. We paid the Passport America rate, cash only and no checks, and it's good for up to 4 days. If you don't have PA, there are other, nicer, campgrounds in the area, but for a short visit, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall this was a nice park. The road coming in was very rough and the cable didn't work but, the restrooms and showers were very clean and warm. The sites were level and there were sites that had a good view although we didn't have one of these. The park was close the train station and the shops. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The above rate is Passport -- this is an expensive area and all the campgrounds are pricey. (Note that for the Passport rate it is cash only, no checks or credit cards.) At the full price this campground would be a huge disappointment. It's very basic, with a lot of permanent residents (who have lots of clutter around their units), lots of traffic noise and, as mentioned before, the annoying red lava rock. The "90' pull through sites" are actually double sites and, although there were none where they actually put two rigs into a site while we were there, I expect during the summer when they are busy it's a matter of routine. We were led to our site and when I expressed concern about whether our power cord would reach the pedestal, our guide rather rudely said "I'll put you where it works for ME". We had to park our truck in front and on two occasions had to move it to let rigs get out -- the outside roadways are a bit narrow. The positives are that the power and water pressure were fine, the laundry is large and, when we were there, worked fine, and the location is easy on and off from the interstate. But the potholes at the entrance are really a problem and the lava rock on the interior roads is rough -- no problem with the low speed limit! We might come back here again because the other parks are more expensive and closer to the railway line, which is even noisier, but we might just try to find another town to stay in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very easy access to/fro freeway. Sites are basic but hookups worked (including the basic cable). We had very usable Wi-Fi (I'm doing the review right now through their Wi-Fi), but I'm at the closest site to the office. Check-in was quick. Bathrooms were quite clean and serviceable. I didn't have any problems with the lava rock ground as I wear footwear. In fact, I'm happy with this flooring especially now when it's so wet during a thunderstorm. There were however some run down RVs in this campground. They appear to be there for storage. If you are looking for a no frills full hookup site, you might want to consider this. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice long sites, could be shared if crowded, but we had a 90' site our entire stay. Wi-Fi worked and iffy cable, with only 8 channels on a good day. Would have given a much higher rating if it weren't for the horrible entrance to the park - large potholes and ruts. Mentioned to the office staff and was told it was a problem with the city, not them!!!! The sites are gravel and took some work to level the coach, but is indeed level. Very friendly and helpful office staff and lead everyone to their sites and available for information about the local area. Would recommend to others and would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I agree with the other posts, especially about the lava rock. The bathrooms weren't as clean as they should be and the laundry had a defective washing machine which was not labeled as such and created a problem for my wife. The Wi-Fi worked at my site but not at others. Forget the minor cable TV service. Many people had no service but we were able to get 1 digital channel (NBC). This park is nice for a visit to the Grand Canyon but not a destination. There was a lot of highway noise. Power was very low and thankfully we didn't need to use the A/C. We would not stay here again, moving down the road to complete our stay after we do the train ride to the Canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A good enough campground for a short stay. Wi-Fi and cable TV does not work except in the office. Not told this until after payment. Payment is cash only with no receipt. Bet this man has lots of un reported monies. Our price reflects PPA supposedly, which is like most PPA campgrounds now. It's never 1/2 price after the add ons. Had nice view and large sites. Doubt if I would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
As stated by previous reviewers, this park is basically all lava rock which is not good for people or dogs. Must wear shoes, rocks are about 2" diameter to smaller crushed rock on roadways. Staff was OK, and they were a little put out that we used a credit card, they wanted cash only. The park is about what would be expected for a desert park, and the sites were more than adequate for big rigs. The park dog wanders and just plops it anywhere he wants. So much for pick up after your dog! The major drawback was that the cable TV worked somewhat during the day, and at night the whole thing went fuzzy and impossible to see the picture. Not a good week here since the new shows were coming on and the wife could not even see a picture. The town of Williams is really interesting and there are some good places to see and also good food and fun. Would probably stay here again, if it was a shorter time, and the cable TV worked right. The rate was for Good Sam. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Wonderful site. Beautiful views. A little close to the freeway noise, but that was ok with us. All large pull through sites. Very easy to get in and out. EXCELLENT Wi-Fi, but we were in space #1 next to office. Would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very friendly, park was as expected. Gravel sites are really rocks - don't go barefoot or let your doggies around the sites. Convenient to the I-40, and walking distance to good amenities. TV channels limited, but overall a good stop for the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the weekly rate. Close to I-40; an hour from the Grand Canyon. Office personnel were very friendly. We had some visitors for two nights and they did not charge us extra. Sites are all pull-through. It appears that they used to be back-to-back sites, as there are two site numbers, electric, etc., at each site. Now the negative for us. Sites are wide open; no wind protection (there's lots of wind here year-round). Sites are lava-type rock, not gravel and one cannot go out without shoes: flip-flops don't cut it. Most sites do not have a table; we were one of the lucky ones. However, we were next to a permanent RV resident, whose dog used our tires for his duty. More policing by the management is needed to avoid this. We probably would only stay here again as an overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I made a reservation at this park because of its name and our desire to see the Grand Canyon. Although an hour away from the Grand Canyon, the park is in a great location. Williams, AZ, is a nice little town on historic Route 66. There are many shops, restaurants, and a nightly gunfight in town. The scenery surrounding the campground is also very nice - pine-tree-covered hills. The staff is VERY friendly. If you need to use them, the showers/bathrooms are very nicely kept. We stayed there with a family of 8. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
As with most Passport America Campgrounds you get what you pay for. This is a decent park for a few days while you see the sights. Oddly laid out sites that are fairly level with crushed lava rock. Very rough entrance road and narrow entrance to park. Bathrooms and showers clean and modern with plenty of hot water and pressure. Wi-Fi works good although we used our Verizon card which had a strong and fast connection. Only negative are the few trashy RV's scattered through out the park. I would group them together on one end. In particular try to avoid being parked on either side of site 12 or anywhere in about 21 through 33. Cable TV is not worth the bother of even trying to make it work. Satellite access is easy on the other hand. Will try some of the other parks in the area next time but would stay here again if necessary. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We had planned on a 4 night stay, but were delayed by bad weather. The cg staff recommended we wait a day because of local heavy snow. Thank you!! We used Passport America, plan to pay in cash, but you are told that upfront when making the reservation. Our site was long and level, with good location of hookups. Our cable TV connection was useless, but plenty of open sky so our sat dish worked perfectly. We did not use the showers/bath, so can't comment on them. We also did not use the Wi-Fi, our Verizon air card had a strong signal. We did use the fuel discount coupon for the station at the campground entrance. We used the campground as a home base to tour the Grand Canyon and Sedona. We would use this campground again, basic with a reasonable rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great park for a great price, PA discount applied. The only things you might find to complain about is all dirt (red dirt) with a gravel layer on top, Wi-Fi was a little slow but still a great park for the money. Will be back when through the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here to explore the area, and the price reflects Passport America charge. This park is OK with level, pull through sites and full hookups, free WiFi though the cable TV did not work. They are convenient to I-40 though you can not hear the traffic. This is not a resort (no pool, hot tub or rec hall). The ground is very rough with volcanic rock, very difficult to walk. Williams is at 7,000 feet and it can be quite cold through the night in April. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped in Williams on our way to an RV Rally, to check out the RV parks, to see if we wanted to stay here for a month this summer. We stayed here because it is a Passport park and the rate reflects that including tax. This park is OK with level, pull through sites and all hookups except cable TV. They are quite busy because they are convenient to I-40 and are Passport. However, it is not a park we would want to stay in for more than a night or two. They have virtually no facilities like pool, picnic area, etc., and the ground is very rough with volcanic rock, very difficult to walk. Be careful coming in because the road at the entrance is very rough. Williams is at 7,000 feet and it was quite cold here in April. One morning was 28 degrees. We did find a much nicer park, and made a reservations for a month. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is a nice park. There are large sites with full hookups and cable (free) and free wifi. We didn't use wifi because our broadband cards (Verizon and Sprint) work very good. We only stayed the one night, but two years ago we stayed longer. It is a nice area lots to see. The only negative is it is close to I40 so there is lots of traffic noise. We stayed with our Passport America. There is lots of room to hike. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A perfect place if you are looking for a spot to tour the Grand Canyon/Flagstaff/Sedona area. It is just off I-40 but far enough to be quiet! It has gravel sites: well maintained and spaced. It is one hour to the Grand Canyon, half hour to Flagstaff and about one hour to Sedona, plus alot more that we ran out of time to see. For all our fellow military families and retirees: this owner is the best. Hooah to him and his staff. We will be back for a longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had the same experience with Passport America reservations as did previous reviewers. We called in and clearly identified ourselves as PA members and were told there was space. When we arrived the clerk denied we identified ourselves as PA members and offered the FMCA rate. We told him we'd go elsewhere and he gave us a "PA rate" ($4/night more than PA directory stated) at cash only (no checks). Spaces are fairly tight, but no problem with 40' class A and tow. Scenery is spectacular, and the proximity to the Grand Canyon is unbeatable. We'll stay here again provided if get an understanding of PA rates when making reservations. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Fantastic scenic view, discount on gas, wonderful people and nice big spots. It was our first night out in our RV and this park helped make it a pleasant experience. I would stay there again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Strange thing happened and our first experience with this after 6 months of traveling. Called out of the Passport America book ahead of arrival regarding availability and was curtly told "no vacancies". Drove there anyway and found about 40 empty sites and the man was more than willing to have us there. Only offered Good Sam discount at double the price of PA. Not sure why that happened. The park is ok for the overnight stay. Red lava rock and pretty level sites with nice views. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A good base to see the Grand Canyon. It's a basic campground with some long term campers. The cable TV didn't work and I didn't use the Wi-Fi. My reservation was for 2 nights. When I checked- in, I asked if I wanted to stay a 3rd night would they have room. I was told by the workamper this would be no problem. Since it was Labor Day weekend I was glad to hear that. The park was far from full. I called the office the afternoon of my 2nd day and talked to the owner, he said my spot had been reserved for 3 weeks and I could not stay. He did not offer me another space. Since I used Passport America, I have my opinion on why. The park was about 25% full. The big plus for my visit was a Private Grand Canyon Tour Guide Marvouls Marv advertised on the website. I took his tour with another couple and it was awesome. I have been to the Grand Canyon in the past but had not seen any of what he showed us. The tour was worth every bit of $85 for the entire day including pick-up. I would stay at this park again even though I was annoyed with the owner's business ethic. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I found the check-in to be very easy and I was given a space with a view. There are not a lot of trees and no grass so I started to pull out my awning and was told it would be wise not to use it. The winds have been known to tear an awning right off. Because of the heat, wind and rain I spent most of my time indoors. Some spaces have tables but not mine. The bathrooms and laundry room are kept very clean. The park sets on a small hill with a short walk to town. I stayed for a month because I had already paid in advance. It's a good place to stop for the night only because of the reasonable rates. This is a park you would use to sleep in overnight and move on. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No problem with WiFi, hooked up fine (site 11). Gravel is not our favorite so part of downgrade from this. It was very level though. Just an average park and good for a nite or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It doesn't take much to make me happy, wifi is a must and I hate parks that advertise it and then locate you so far from the tower that it doesn't work. If you are a Camp Club member go to the Railroad RV Park in downtown, the price is the same and the wifi works all over. I wish I had know this before I stayed here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Small sites, rough entrance. Surface totally volcanic cinders. No grass anyplace. Staff very friendly and helpful. Seasonal residents not tidy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very basic park with two things going for it. 1. Passport America, and 2. Wonderful water from melted snow. So pure that my meter registered it better than bottled water. I completely filled my tank before we left. Very nice staff. Easy to find. A little tight for our 40'DP but not bad. Good for a day or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The entrance drive is full of large pot holes and make it difficult to get in without spilling everything in the RV. Also if you're trying to come and someone is leaving, you have a problem. The staff was fairly friendly but didn't go out of their way to make you feel at home. They fuss if someone doesn't pick up after their pet but they don't mind letting their dog roam all over the park and do his business. This is a Passport America Park and that is the only reason we stayed there. My friend with us had requested a 50 amp site and he was given a 30 amp site. The sites are designed so that 2 RV can be parked on the same site, end to end. I guess that's okay if you're not on the end and are ready to leave before the one in front of you. I don't really believe we'd would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is convenient to interstate and Grand Canyon. Manager was service oriented. Our smallest needs were his concern. They even tried to call us on arrival needs. We took the MarvelousMarv tour of the Grand Canyon and enjoyed his individual style tour in a van. He took us to his choice spots at the Canyon with his commentary and CD of his photos. We stopped and hiked a couple of places. We used the local Canyon Pets to board and groom our dog. The manager helped contact and arrange pickup and delivery of our pet. Okay, except boarding cost for 8 hours was a little high. Williams is an interesting Route 66 town. We would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
As stated in other reviews, park is pretty basic, but well-cared for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We needed a boost for the battery in our diesel truck and they were quick to assist. Ground is all large stone so yes, pretty rough on the feet etc. Cable service is almost useless but Wi-Fi was okay. Passport America rate of $18.50 makes it a good option. Touring the Canyon with Marvelous Marv's Tours is a good deal. Park will set it up for you and saves a lot of hassle with parking at the Canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very rough entrance and roads. All sights are large stone but easy to level. Not pet friendly and the large stones are rough on small animal feet. Cable is almost non-existent with a few local and cable channels but reception is very poor even though I tried another connection. Power was poor and dropped below 110 volts frequently. Good for an overnight stay but other other parks are closer to the Grand Canyon. Wi-Fi was fair. We stayed 4 nights and would stay again only if passing through. Passport America discount makes this park usable although it should be discounted further for lack of amenities, roads and long distance from sewer connections. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We arrived for a one night stay on our way to the Grand Canyon. This park was digging out from 4 feet of snow that they had in the prior weeks. We were fortunate(?) to have a period of somewhat warm temps, which caused the dirt gravel roads and RV sites to be very muddy and messy. The clay in the soil was extremely difficult to get off of your feet and this made a mess inside our RV. I would guess that this same situation could exist in the Summer after a rain. There was not a designated dog walk location however as most, we carry a bad for clean-up. The cable TV service was marginal at best. The park has an arrangement with the adjoining gas station to give a 10 cent discount on gas purchases. You have to check into the park first to receive this discount. This is a good thing, IF you need fuel, because the stations in Williams all were charging about 50-75 cents more per gallon that any of the other surrounding cities. I would consider stay at this park again, if the weather was good. I would avoid it if rain or snow melt is expected. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There is easy access off I-40. The footing was uncomfortable for the dogs to walk. If you stop here make sure you have provisions with you as groceries are very expensive in town. We stayed overnight and would stay here again if we were passing through, but wouldn't make it a destination. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the Passport America rate of $19.50 plus tax. Other discounts, like AAA, Good Sam, etc., are also available. This is a no-frills park close to downtown "Route 66" Williams. The check-in staff was pleasant and helpful. Our site #33A was level with problem-free hookups. The park is about 60 miles from Sedona and an hour from the Grand Canyon South Rim. A Safeway grocery store is nearby. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here six nights while we toured the south canyon area. The staff is very friendly and helpful with suggestions, with restrooms that are modern and spotless. There were only about ten picnic tables for 100 sites, so we had to wait for a neighbor to leave and haul that one over. Long pull through level sites, and good Wi-Fi. Back row faces storage row of RVs, and looks junkie. Front row has a beautiful view towards south. Loose volcanic rock a bit hard to walk on except where it has been packed down by vehicles. As a base campground for touring, it served us well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good Wi-Fi. Just off the freeway, but not much noise. Will stay here again when in the area. Rate is the Passport America rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a passport park and the Wi-Fi was not available at all sites. We were very happy there and would stay there again. I guess if Wi-Fi is the most important thing on your list of needs you would need to ask for a site near the office. There were some permanents there also but nothing that was old or ugly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed four nights at Passport America rate. We were guided to the level site. The sites are fairly large but are back to back. In a fifth wheel they rent the front site so it is a pull through and then rent the rear site to a smaller rig. The campground is gravel and small rock. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Actually, this campground is basically a parking lot, no more. It is a few acres, off exit 163, that has been cleared and completely covered with crushed lava rock, interspersed with a few small trees with electric, water and sewer hookups. No amenities period, you’re here, you park, if you haven’t brought it with you, you’re not going to find it here. There is NO GREEN HERE! It is mostly inhabited with ‘permanents’, in very old units, that have been here for awhile. The operators are quite nice, and try to be accommodating within their limits, bathrooms are clean. WiFi is NOT. Very, very spotty, if it’s there at all, most times it didn’t even work at the office, where the antenna was, let alone at our site, which was at the far end of the parking lot, AND IT’S VERY, VERY SLOW. This is a Passport camp and maybe that explains everything, you get what you pay for. We would not stay here again. Actually the KOA at exit 167 where we stayed 5 years ago is MUCH better, and we hate KOAs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great location for trip to Grand Canyon. Hosts were friendly and gracious and well informed about the area. Passport America fee and worth every penny! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly manager; took you to your site. Gave us lots of info on area activities. Campground clean, big sites, good water, electric and sewer hookups. Very close to Historic Williams, and just an hour away from the Grand Canyon. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Passport America for 4 nights. Great location to the Grand Canyon and Williams! An hour's drive to the canyon. Staff is very friendly. Overlarge level, pull-through sites. Parked on rocks, no grass, no amenities but perfectly fine for what we need. We would stop by here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We paid the Passport America rate, and this campground was not worth anything more. No Pool, no shade, no book exchange. TV service at our site did not work, had to plug into adjoining site. TV was 9 channels, only 4 worked, could not get all the networks; TV cut in and out. They offered 20 cents/gallon discount at a gas station they own, but the discounted price was still 15 cents more than gas in town. I felt very ripped off. Would never stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Paid Passport rate. We did not have any problem with mgmt here. In fact we showed up at 11:00 am as we only had a 70 mile drive from prior stop, there was no problem with the early check in, they just checked to make sure that the site was empty. Ongoing improvements being made. We would stay here again. One note on gas prices, Williams stations were 50 - 60 cents higher than Flagstaff, even the stations on 64 heading up into the Canyon were not that high. Fill up before getting here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The people running this park are very cranky and unfriendly. We were placed in probably the least desirable site when the park was half empty. The site was right next to the workers unit and they smoked incessantly which meant we had to keep our windows closed. The workers played loud music in their unit and their sewer hookups leaked. Next time we will stay in one of the other parks in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park suited our needs. Close to I-10 and the Grand Canyon. Gave discount for Police & Firefighters. Would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great park. We found nothing to complain about. The rate shown is the standard rate, we got a discount rate for combining with the train ride. The WiFi is free and work reasonably well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our rate included a discount for military. Very nice people on the staff that want to please, but they really cram a lots of rv's in small area even back to back or front to back. Sites are all rock would not be a good place for pets. Works great as a place to park while you are off during the day sight seeing with the Canyon about 60 miles away. Picked up Marvelous Marv's Canyon tour which would recommend to everyone and they pick you up at the campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good overnight place or base for the train to Grand Canyon. We enjoyed the town. Prices are reasonable for a town on old 66. Most desert campgrounds are either dust or stone, not a destination park but doesn't pretend to be. Good value for the Passport America price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Was not impressed with this facility. Very tight spaces with rigs parked two deep - very little room to park and we found the staff abrupt and unfriendly. All gravel and rock. We would not return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We spent 2 nights here. The best thing we could say about this campground is that it has good access to the hwy. Well ok the sites were level and clean too.And you are only just a little over an hour form the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice home base for the Grand Canyon area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The park itself was fairly new and had large red rocks as ground cover. It was a little hard to walk on these rocks. The sites were tight but large enough for big rigs without awnings. Each site had its own hookups except we had no cable. At the front the motorhomes were two to a site. The washrooms were clean and large but you had to walk on the red rocks a fair distance to get to them. The park is a Passport America participant and we would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I can only give this park a 5 rating because of how they line up the rigs, end to end. The front row would be okay, but we were in the second row and our front window was three feet away from the motorhome in front of us and we were looking at the back of their rig. Not much of a view. I've never seen a situation like that in my two and a half years of fulltiming. We have been back and forth across country twice taking a different route from California to Maine. I just don't understand their thinking. That was the first time we have been put in a line like that. I felt we were in a dealership parking lot! We used RUSA for half off price and paid extra for 50 amps. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is very close to town. Park is full of red rocks and hard to walk on. Two RV units in each row, one in front and one in rear. If one in front stays you will need to back out to get out of site. Hard to park due to number of trees in wrong place. Staff was nice at check in. Rates were on Passport. Some road road noise off I-40. No playground equipment for the kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Used location as overnighter. Very busy & recommended reservation in October-busiest month. Sites are gravel and you park one coach in front & one in rear. Difficult to manuever as roads are narrow. Hosts are friendly & helpful. Sits high on a hill and therefor you don't hear noise from I-40. We camped here in a Motorhome.

maintained. We camped here in a camper.

Level pull through sites handled 40' 5th easily. North of I-40. New park; very friendly; some sites with phones. Good location to head north to Grand Canyon and south to Sendona area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great location of this park. It is right off Hwy 40 easy on/off so if you want to visit Grand Canyon it is a straight 45 min drive. Only 3 miles from Williams. Quiet, no freeway noise. A few trains do pass by during the day but not noisy. You just hear the rumble. Park is nice and clean has a train theme along with the motel. Pull through was easy and lots of room. Check in was easy. Verizon and Mi-Fi worked great. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The campground is clean and everything worked beautifully. Will stay here again when we go back to the west. Love being on old Route 66 right minutes away from downtown Williams which has so many old route 66 sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All gravel sites but pretty level. We had to pay attention to keep from over doing it with the jacks. Pool is closed during this time of year. Very interesting store and wonderful people working here. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owners of this resort were so helpful and friendly! They advised us of all the sights to see in the area and great places to dine. The resort has level sites and good services. Wi-Fi was fast. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is such a cool park. I was looking for somewhere to spend a month at while I waited for the temperature in Bullhead City to cool down. I found several RV parks in Williams. When I called Canyon I was cheerfully greeted and I felt this was the park I should choose and, with a very reasonable monthly rate, I signed up. When I arrived at the park I was a day early and the girl that helped me on the phone was very helpful and understanding and greeted me cheerfully. This park is so cool, the sites are very large and there is a table on each lot. There is a really neat fire ring full of wood for anyone to use. The swimming pool was a big plus; it is enclosed and pretty good sized too. There are some cool little motel rooms inside of old trains. Everyone at the park was friendly very nice and happy to work there. Thanks for a great stay and I will be back for sure. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
As we were driving our jeep out of the park we had to pull over to allow a Motorhome to pass. When we pulled over we popped our tire on an exposed railroad track. The park owners were very rude and defensive when we tried to tell them about it. We certainly didn't expect them to cover the cost of the tire but we did expect them to be cordial about it. We have stayed in this park before but never again. The owners husband did cover the railroad tie with rocks so no one should have the same problem as we did. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Interesting park with lots of train decor and real train cars to sleep in. There was no pool available in November. The sites are gravel and not very level but good access. Has Wi-Fi and cable TV. The bathrooms are in a building labeled Laundry which was confusing, and the 5 digit code didn't work on one side of the building which was confusing. But once inside everything was very clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful; they have an interesting store here too, with souvenirs, snacks, small selections of groceries and lots of train stuff: cute. There are trains within hearing distance but not obtrusive. I'd be happy to stay here next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very organized and well appointed campground about an hour's drive from the south rim. The pitches were a little bland but plenty of space. Excellent shower rooms and a good indoor swimming pool. Very friendly staff. However, a lot of freeway and train noise so earplugs needed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There is no shade and I paid extra for a deluxe site which was supposed to be in the trees; it only put me closer to the bathrooms. The 2 showers were unisex and had a sink and toilet. There was one extra toilet with only a sink. We had to constantly wait, there was no hot water and the restrooms were never cleaned Saturday or Sunday. The sites were all uneven going downhill from side to side. Dog waste everywhere as not one owner picked up, nor were there any signs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I generally tend to inflate my ratings (I'm pretty easy to please), but this place was an overpriced disappointment to us. Deferred maintenance, crowded sites, no real view. We were just really, really tired after a long day driving and this was about the only site available. We likely won't stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a peaceful place to stay. It is quiet and close to town with several great restaurants. Route 66 memorabilia. Great We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Quaint park, with large pull-through sites. Very friendly employees, central location to day trips to Sedona, Rt 66, interstate and Grand Canyon. Only 1 mile to historic Williams. Very cute, Rt 66 town, shopping. Within minutes of Safeway supermarket. Near Grand Canyon, only 54 miles. Twice a day you can see the Grand Canyon Railroad from the park: a cool experience to see. Not a clean pool, small playground, and out-in the open, very dusty. Because of slopes in mountains, not much room to hang outside. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Other than today's wind - over which they obviously have no control - I can't see how anyone could find fault with this place. The front desk is the best and most friendly I've seen and anticipated all my questions before I asked them. The site is perfect for us although the sewer hookup requires an extra long length. Wifi and our satellite reception exceptional. I wish we were staying here for more than two days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The front desk staff was very helpful. We were in a deluxe site and had plenty of room. We faced some trees but otherwise the park is fairly open. The site was gravel and level. Our Verizon worked perfectly. The cable was just OK. The Wi-Fi was good. There was a slight amount of road noise but not too bad. The park was not too busy which made it nice for us, not sure when they are full how it would be. We saw elk across the street and wandered into historic Williams. We stayed here for the proximity to the Grand Canyon. It was about an hour but the parks closer were not as nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground is on RT66 in Williams. Sites and roads are gravel and mostly level. Utilities were fine. Easy driving inside the park. The motel (really cabins) are RT66 originals. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The laundry room was very clean as were the bathrooms. The sites are gravel but very long and pretty level. They have an indoor pool. The hotel is very cute and looks well kept. It was very peaceful and quiet when we stayed there. I have stayed here twice and will definitely come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites are almost level, parks should invest in a cheap laser level and use it. Would be nice to pull in on a gravel site and have it level front to back and side to side. Would stay here again and recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I rely entirely on this website to get the inside "scoop" from folks that actually have been to these campgrounds, and I wasn't disappointed in this one at all. The staff was friendly and very informative on local attractions. We booked our trip on the train through the campground and everything was in order when we arrived. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The park itself is laid out well and is maintained very well. We stayed in one of the "deluxe" sites which have a bit more room and were nestled up next to a treed area. Roads are graveled and the office staff extremely helpful. The park is on the outskirts of the small town of Williams close to the road to the Grand Canyon. There is some slight freeway noise when outside as well as some freight train noise - noise that I believe you would hear anywhere in Williams as the tracks run through town. Lots of room to walk the dogs. They also rent out railroad cars that have been turned into rooms as well as a small motel here for people needing more bed space than in their RV. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
First time in the area and we picked a jewel. The quiet area with easy access to town was very nice. Staff was very helpful in all questions. This is a "work in progress" as improvements are coming for shower area. During our stay, we had almost clear skies with one nice sunset over Williams. We will stay here again as there was more to see than we had time for. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was our 2nd stay and this time I found the cable TV connection. It rain for the 3 days we were there and while we were dry the lower west end spaces were under water and one RV in that area was nearly flooded out. We saw the owner wade through thigh deep water to get to his rig. Three hours after the rain stopped the flooded sites were clear. I would stay here again but only if a slight rain was expected. I would not drive our truck through the flooded road on the west side of the park and since that was the only way back to the site we had it would have kept us out of our 5th wheel. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice little park. Friendly owners. Sites are largely tree-free. We stayed in site #4 which was a 60' pull through with full hookup and 50amps. Other sites provided only 30amp. Owner provides discount tickets to some local attractions and restaurants. Entrance way is a little tight for big rigs but manageable. No formal dog-walk but lots of open space is available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the best parks we have stayed in. Sites are gravel but level, and are on different elevations. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location to visit the Grand Canyon, or to just visit the quaint old railroad town of Williams. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an RV park and motel. Motel has cabins and railway cars you can stay in. Pretty cute. Sites are large and well maintained. It has a store with some supplies and trinkets. There is a nice laundry. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. There are lots of one night stays, but this is not disruptive or a problem. Monthly rate is a little high, but we would probably stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has a nice indoor pool which was clean. It was unheated, but that's not necessary in the summer. We loved the park and have stayed here before. The only improvement I would suggest is that their WI-FI is somewhat unreliable. It was unavailable in the morning and late afternoon, and the park was fairly empty. We were there 3 nights this time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
RV Park setting is unique as it has an funky old time feel. Roads are dirt/gravel mix as well as pads. Part of the park is level, but most of it is on an incline, although pads are fairly level. Pad length was sufficient; however, little room on either side of RV to walk around due to slope. Dogs on leash OK, with walk around areas. Park was quiet and scenic. Bathrooms were warm, very private and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Information on local services and entertainment plentiful. I did not try Wi-Fi or Satellite or Cable TV. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed over night prior to putting the RV in storage at the same location for $85 per month; cheaper than pulling the RV up from Phoenix once. The review section indicated they had cable TV but when I hooked up I could not find any cable connection. Did not use any of the amenities so I can't comment on those. The folks were very friendly, and they were open until 10 PM local time and had late arrival process if you were coming in later than that. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The price seemed high for Arizona, but you're paying for its relatively close location to the Grand Canyon. Very wide, fairly long pull-through sites (and some back-ins), set far enough back from the I-40 that I didn't hear much highway noise. Sites at the bottom of the hill were level; ones further up the hill looked sloped. They charge extra for 50-amp hookups, and extra during March Break or other holidays. Wi-Fi was completely broken when I was here, but they warned me about that when I phoned ahead. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The atmosphere is Route 66 and the train car and cabooses are an attraction. The laundry and bathrooms were clean and nice: but there were only 3 toilets and two of them were in a unit with a shower and sink. So if people had to use the toilet there was a long, long line in the mornings and in the evening. We asked for a lot close to the bath house because of my limited mobility but they did not put us in a spot that was right across from the bath house and that spot remained open. We were already set up when we saw that no one was placed in that spot for the night. The pool was enclosed but our grandsons returned from the pool reporting that it was so dirty and green that they would not go into it. A smart decision by 15 and a 13 year-old boys. There were campgrounds closer to Grand Canyon but we had already reserved our space before we learned that our friends were not going to be able to meet us there. We would have lost a night's paid-in-advance space if we had chosen to stay at another campground. It was about 50 miles to the Canyon. We would rather have stayed in Trailer Village inside the Park but reservations have to be made so far ahead we could not get in there for the second night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was a family vacation. We had people in tents, RV's and even a motel room. The RV site was on a slope. It was dangerous coming out of the RV because of the slope. Also I couldn't believe that having a picnic table made for a deluxe site. There were were lots of weeds. You were expected to put your tent on lava rocks. I thought the motel rooms were very expensive for what they had to offer. The outside light was out and we asked a few times if it could be fixed. I was abruptly told, that management had been told about it. It wasn't fixed for a whole week. I would think they would worry about safety. I was a little surprised by the attitude of the people. It's sad because it could be a real nice place. I used to be in the hospitality business so I was really taken back by the attitudes. Sad to say, but one of the least impressive places we've stayed when it comes to accommodations and hospitality. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is located with sites going up the hillside so it provides a beautiful view for watching the sunset. In spite of it being on a hill, the sites were surprisingly level. Bathrooms are clean and private but as someone else mentioned, you end up walking up hill one way or the other depending on where your site is. Sites don't have fire pits or individual BBQ grills, but they do have grills located elsewhere for use. Wifi was spotty, but we weren't in camp much so it wasn't a big deal. The hotel rooms aren't much to speak of for the price according to someone that was with us. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The campground was fairly full the days we stayed due to a reunion or something of that nature. Several Route 66 fans in the campground. Nice place to stay. Could use a little more TLC. Weeds growing tall is the main complaint. Easy to get around campground. Sites were nice size with 3/4 crushed granite. Nice view of the valley and Williams. Newer restroom/shower/laundry facility that was kept clean. Indoor pool stated as being heated. Heated with ice cubes would be more like it. We got in due to it being hot, but hard to enjoy. Nice little store and the attendant seemed to be well spirited. Internet available in the store. Tent campers were expected to set up on lava rock and straw. Easy access to get to the Grand Canyon. Grand Canyon Train goes through the area several times a day with the horn. I would return here, but a little more TLC would be appreciated. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park and would highly recommend. Park host was very friendly and helpful with info about the surrounding area. Great place if you have a dog due to there is a open field area with tall pine trees surrounding one side and the back side of the RV park. Great place to stay if you plan to go to the Grand Canyons. Most sites are level pull-throughs and are long enough even if you have a tow. The sites have full hook-ups and include cable. There is also a secure internet connection that works great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a pretty basic park. The sites are pull-through and are long enough even if you have a tow. I had no trouble getting my unit level. The sites have full hook-ups and include cable. There is also a secure internet connection, although I didn't use it as my wireless card worked fine. There is a pool, but no hot tub. They also have a small store where you can get a few items if you need them. The main attraction here is the train that goes to the Grand Canyon. It is only a few minutes away. About the same distance away are several fast-food eating establishments. Flagstaff is only 30 minutes away if you need something bigger and Sedona and the Grand Canyon are both about an hour away. I would be willing to stay here again if I needed to be in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I camped two nights at a tent site. There are absolutely no services provided at the tent sites. No electric, no water, nothing. Sites are located on a gentle slope. Very little level ground. To use the restrooms/shower requires a one block walk downhill, and then back up the hill. WIFI reception was very poor. We camped here in a Tent.

This was an excellent stay. Everything on the campground was vintage. It really kept the motif of Route 66 alive. The location was excellent to downtown Williams, the Grand Canyon train and the reservoirs that near by. The campground is quiet. The general store is more of a retail store for Route 66. The sites are somewhat level. Our air card worked very good. Cable was OK. First campground we have stayed at that recycles. We highly recommend dinner at Red Raven. If you are going to dine there after 7 PM make reservations. If you have kids catch the "shoot out" that occurs every night from May - Labor day in downtown Williams. Ask a local every night is in a different location. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We regret that our schedule requires that we leave tomorrow after only two nights here. Next time, we'll schedule a week! This is a great little park in a wonderful location, particularly if you're visiting the Grand Canyon. The town of Williams is charming and fun, with lots of shops and restaurants. Beer fanciers, try the Sultana Ale at the Sultana Bar downtown. Regarding the park, the new restrooms and showers are great, lots of hot water, and lots of room. Our site, at the top of the hill, was perfectly level and had a great view. The utilities were flawless, with the exception of a leaky water valve, which was pointed out to the staff while hooking up. It was fixed the next day. We really enjoyed it here, and look forward to returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park with a friendly staff. It is located approx 1 mile from US 40. The town of Williams is about 1 1/2 mile from the park. Only has 2 showers but they are separate rooms for either sex and are large enough for a small family. Very clean and plenty of hot water. If you have a dog they can get off the leash on the back side of park where the trees are. Little store on site. It is about 60 miles straight on US 64 to Grand Canyon Park. The only drawback was the pool was not heated and it is advertised as heated indoor pool. Water was a little too cold for me to get in. Sites are gravel but very large and sewer hose must be off the ground. Very nice park and we would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Attractive park surrounded by Ponderosa pine trees. The showers and restrooms are clean and spacious. Wifi was dependable and fast enough. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is the nicest campground we stayed on in North America. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly. They gave us a survival package and two silver dollars as change. A nice gesture if you ask us, quite unique. The sites were really big and level. You have free wifi at your site. Our price is with Campclub discount. The showers were so great it feels like you are at home. They are located in the nicest recreation room with a heated patio in front of it. You can also sleep in an actual train cabin if you want and they looked real comfortable. There are also normal motel rooms to stay in. The campground has easy access to the Grand Canyon and the great town of Williams along Route 66. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean RV park and staff was nice. Location was not far from the interstate and convenient to visit the Grand Canyon. Sites were long enough to accommodate our 34 foot motorhome with a 16 foot trailer. We would stay here again. Wi-Fi was good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners very nice and helpful. Large spots, I was in #4 with a view of the stored rv's (not appealing). Park interior roads were all rock and hard on the pooches paws, but the park backs up to the forest which was a plus. The restrooms & laundry in process of being built and will be a major bonus. If you stay here don't forget to bring OFF or some other mosquito repellent as they were out in force. Relaxed enviroment, was a good spot for a Rally. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is in a pleasant setting. The sites do not have picnic tables or fire pits, but there is an area near the front of the park that has a large fire pit, grills, and picnic tables. The staff was very friendly. We did not give this park a 10 because there were no showers or laundry. However, these amenities are under construction and should soon be available. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
What a pleasant little park! The people were quite friendly and there is access to National Forest land right next to the park. Some sites had nice views with shade whereas others lacked shade. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I love this little park. I spent a week here and over the weekend had 30 friends arrive who stayed in the motel section (plus 2 other RVs). Great for small group gatherings like that. BBQ area, inside pool, gorgeous gas firepit for the evening gathering. There is a wide variety of sites from very wide back-ins, to nice pull-throughs, to deluxe wide pull-throughs. The staff is wonderful. I was able to receive mail and packages while here (always a plus for a full-timer). There is MUCH to see in the area. The little town of Williams is a kick (yeah, on Route 66). I plan to come back. The only reason I rated it a 9 instead of a 10 is the lack of restrooms, showers & laundry -- and they are working on those. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a gravel park. The sites are wide and 65 ft long. No problem for our motorhome and toad. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Seems like a safe place at night. Most stay here a night or two to visit the Grand Canyon. The price of the space is high for no amenities. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park looked to be well maintained. There is still no bathhouse but not a concern for me. It was very cold which made unhooking water lines nightly a necessity. My site was level with lots of room at a row end. But there were never more than 3 campers while I was here (9 days)and the office kept assigning spots where the few campers here were right next to each other and the whole rest of the park was empty! It is nice to have a little more breathing space in the off seasons than that. WiFi worked great. Pool was shut down for season. Overall, nice park We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our site was missing the picnic table, but due to rain, we didn't spend much time outside. Other than that, it was fine. The caboose suites are interesting - looking to return to stay in one of them. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park has potential, but is a long way from complete. Need more picnic tables and really need to level their sites. Owners seemed to be friendly, but they were busy so didn't get to talk with them much. Nice setting, needs work. We might stay here again, but would really like to pick our site before paying for one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great place to stay, and catch the train to the Grand Canyon. Looks brand new, trees are small and everything is "new." Has a clean and secure laundry and shower area. Wow, and they even give you soap and shampoo in the showers. A common area has a fire pit, along with 4 gas BBQ grills to use. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very cute park that we really enjoyed staying at. They have a great heated indoor pool that our whole family enjoyed. A very nice playground for the kids. The entire area surrounding the park is rich with pine tree views. The park is very close to the forest to walk the dogs. Bathrooms/showers weren't open yet when we were there. The owners were very friendly and we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was the first campground we stayed at after buying our first travel trailer. This is my families favorite spot. Clean sites, extemely friendly staff. After calling for a reservation we were informed that there were no bathrooms and showers, but owning a self-contained travel trailer we don't need these services. If a quiet and relaxing camping experience is what you desire, then this is the place! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This wasn't a very nice park. Came in for 1 night and would not suggest this to anyone. The pool was in a run down shed and there was no real showers available. The hosts were not very nice either. We had planned on staying more then 1 night, but it was not worth it. We went down the road a couple of blocks to another park and it was fantastic. Would definitely not suggest this park to anyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a Gem in progress. The Owners are just great people. They are making improvements on a daily bases. We stayed in our 40ft 5th wheel RV for a few days. I was able to give them some suggestions. The Owners are working hard in making many additional amenities. They were very upfront that the showers and bath house was under construction. If those amenities were needed they referred you to another local Campground. We enjoyed the town of Williams. Also the Grande Canyon visit. Williams, AZ. does have a local train that goes to the Grande Canyon. So if you do not like trains, this maybe an issue. We would go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice RV Park. Sites are pretty level and some have shade trees. Would have rated a "10" if the restrooms and showers were installed. They may be added later. We would definitely camp here again. Camped here for a week. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is NOT the Railside RV Park which is down the road 300 yards. It's easy to inadvertently turn in here first. Even though this park is still being developed (dusty and the owner was grading new sites while we were there), the owners are nice and have the best of intentions for developing the park. The utility infrastructure is brand new and the WiFi is powerful and working most of the time. If the owners make the right decisions over the next few years, this might be a nice park. They need to work on site leveling a bit more and landscaping is apparently on the agenda in the next few weeks. Overall, certainly better than the Railside RV Park which denies they have seasonals and permanents notwithstanding the plywood skirting around many units. We chose this place over the Railside RV Park which is looking rather run-down. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is not a bad campground for an overnight, but I would not want to stay here for very long. Wash is $2.50 and dry $1.50, but the 3 washers and 4 dryers did work very well. The Wi-Fi is TengoInternet, and does work fine, but if you have an Apple product, e.g., iPhone or iPad, with the Wi-Fi here, you can't use it. The staff are helpful and friendly. Had trouble with TV connections, but finally got that to work. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice campground in the flatland near the Grand Canyon. It is well kept and seems rather new. With few mature trees, there's not a lot of shade and can be windy, but it is clean and had lots of available spaces during this off-season period. Unlike the other campgrounds in Williams, it is not near the RR tracks, so there was no noise problems. Easy access to the highway to go north to the Grand Canyon or a short drive south to I-40 and "Bearizona." We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overnighted. Very nice store and pool area. Individual bathroom/shower rooms. 4 miles north of I-40. Williams area is a elevation of 6,000 or so and has a lot of Grand Canyon visit facilities. Next time through, we will stay three days to check out the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A very nice and clean park. Our site was level and the camp was very clean. Great location for the Grand Canyon. Washing machines were very clean and all worked well. Staff was very friendly. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park with lots of stuff for the kids to do. We were put next to a group that had a pop-up and 5 vehicles they had to arrange so that we could fit. Our hookups (especially the sewer) were next to their picnic table, and uncomfortably close. The mini golf was not in good shape but our kids had a nice time. Some sites are not level, including ours; the fire ring was on an angle. People were nice and helpful, store was fully loaded, nice restaurant on site. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very windy and dusty: but that is Arizona. We stayed 2 nights in order to visit the Grand Canyon, and it is well suited for that. WiFi is slow, but usable. Sites are very nice, but for sandal wearers, the pea gravel was torture. Very convenient to Williams also. Campground was clean and office staff friendly. We would recommend this place for anyone visiting the Canyon, which every American should see. Absolutely beautiful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The rate includes our KOA Value Kard discount. The park is located a pleasant 50 mile drive from Grand Canyon Village and the south rim. The FHU pull through sites are spacious and easy to get in and out of with big rigs. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The free Tengonet WiFi is strong and the speed was acceptable during the day, but in the evenings it was intermittent. Verizon voice and data signals are not strong, but they are stable and usable. Cable TV was clear, although the available channels are limited. We stayed here for four nights while touring the area, and would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park relatively close to the Canyon (50 min.) Sites and roads are crushed rock, sites not very level. Water pressure low, quality is okay. Office staff friendly and knowledgeable, they will make tour reservations for you if you wish. Limited cable channels, Wi-Fi worked well. Located on the road to the canyon, noisy during the day but quiet at night, didn't hear a single train for three days. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate is based on KOA member weekly rate. Park is well maintained with new office/store. Sites are long and wide pull throughs. Park is all gravel/dirt so dust can be an issue. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is free and worked great. Park is 4 miles north of the town of Williams on Highway 64, and about 50 miles south of the Grand Canyon. We found the park to be perfect place to stay and visit the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Sedona. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We arrived on a day the snow was melting. Interior roads are dirt and gravel. Roads were extremely muddy. Our pull through site was crushed lava rock. I needed one board to level my trailer side to side. The rock stuck to shoes but it drained well. Our site had a picnic table, in ground fire pit and a BBQ. It was windy every day. Trees are small and not large enough to provide shade. Staff was very friendly and helpful in locating and seeing surrounding attractions. Internet was Tengo internet and it worked well. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
OK, but nothing spectacular. Decent size spots, but absolutely no shade or privacy. Nice campfire pit per spot. First KOA we've seen with their own coffee corner and prof. espresso machine. 45 min. drive from Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice KOA that caters to overnighters on their way to the Grand Canyon. Access and check-in is easy and simple. They have all of the amenities for kids including horse back riding. The Kowboy Kafe was good. The fully enclosed dog park is a little out of way but very clean and well cared for. We stayed here for 2 nights on a KOA offer of stay 1 night and get 1 free. There are no negatives and we would highly recommend - especially for a 1 night stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is a great camp with it's close proximity to the Canyon, Williams and Sedona. A peaceful and quiet campground, with very helpful and friendly staff. There is an excellent shower set up but it could be kept cleaner. There is a nice Kowboy Cafe and wonderful entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening. Excellent WiFi. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is the second time I used this place. It is a shame because the people are very rude. The sites are really nice but very, very unlevel. You see pushers with their wheels in the air trying to level. I asked the two ladies in the front office how to get to the Grand Canyon Skywalk and they never heard of it? They called another campground to find out about it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a good place to stay, either for an overnight, or as a base to visit the Grand Canyon. The park is clean and well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Plenty of room between sites for slides and awnings. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Several KOAs in the area - all with similar names. This Park is 4.8 miles north of I-40 exit 165; it's new and we were very pleased. We drive a bus with car trailer and the premium sites were long and wide enough. The entire Park is gravel and the premium sites are fenced and include a picnic table, grill and fire pit. Verizon data was slow but worked. AT&T voice was good, data was Edge. Trees are small so no problem with satellite. Only complaint - trees and bushes around sites will be in the way once they grow! We camped here in a Motorhome.
As good a park as I've seen. Easy access to the road, large level sites, sensible hook-up location. Friendly helpful staff. My rate reflects 4 adults with KOA discount, which is why it is higher than posted rate. Not a 10 because while we were here on average 1/2 of the washrooms were out of service. That said, the whole place is brand new and the washrooms are awesome. They are all private rooms with locks on the doors. The showers are the largest I've ever seen in a campground. Marble countertops, heated, hangers for towel and clothes. They have 24 hour laundry facilities and a games room with Wii, puzzles, pool table etc. The outdoor pool and hot tub were not in use because it was cold: in fact it snowed 11 inches while we were here. We bought propane here and paid $20 for a 30LB tank, vs $30 at a KOA in Stanton 4 days earlier. There is a Shell station right next door that sells gas and diesel. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Everything about this campground was great. The staff is awesome. Even though the water is shut off each night in the winter there was no problem. We just made sure we had everything done by the time the water was off. Our site was level and easy in and out. Getting to the Canyon from here is easy. Williams is a neat little Route 66 city. We loved this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We really liked this KOA. We arrived after dark, and they helped us into the site. They do shut off the water at night in freezing conditions, but provide plenty of warning. All you have to do is make sure your fresh water tank has the water you will need to make it through the night, no problem at all. The bathrooms and showers were the cleanest we have seen. We even considered using them instead of our trailers for more elbow room. The playground was great for the kids. They even have a doggies playground. The staff was great. I even saw one member help a woman carry her laundry baskets back to her site. The laundry room is great by the way. The only negative is the lack of shade. We didn't need it in November, but in the summer on a hot day I could see it being hot in the sun. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We pulled in after driving all afternoon and used it for the night. Staff was nice- they were closing up the office and told us to just pull in and would deal with us in the morning. Not a lot of big shade trees and sites are pretty close together, but for an evening stop over, it was a nice place. Restrooms/showers were nice. It is right on the road to the Grand Canyon, so you could use it as a base station for Grand Canyon trips. When we were there, there were only a few other campers. In the summer, it could easily be crowded due to lack of big trees and landscaping. Very nice clubhouse with nice fireplace and coffee concession inside. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This has been the most well maintained KOA we have used to date. The sites could use a bit of work for leveling, nothing to severe though. Entire park (drive and pads) are finely crushed lava rock, so expect to have some in the RV if you step inside with shoes on. The hookups were solid. The showers/restrooms were a bit small but very clean, and with the log cabin appearance, the nicest ones we have seen. The only draw back is the fact there are only 6 of them, and 3 are closed after the office closes. Not to much to do at the park, but considering the Grand Canyon is less than 45 minutes away that is a non-issue. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area and is eager to share it with you. Only recommendation to make it better, they need to setup the water supply with heat/anti-freeze system, instead they currently turn off the water after 8pm if it is supposed to drop below freezing for more than an hour a night. Having a heated fresh water tank is a must for the fall-winter time here. Park has plenty of room to maneuver around even a big rig with a toad. Will likely stay at the Canyon Trailer Village when we come back in the summer, but spring/fall this is likely your best bet. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Typical KOA high charges, but worth it to some people. The site was not level and required extra effort to level the RV. Cable TV snowy but the internet worked well, Tengo net was part of the nightly fee. We were not pleased with the construction vehicles going through the park which is under construction. The pool and office building looks new and is well stocked. We've been here before and might stay here again if Trailer Village in the Grand Canyon park is full again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I thought this campground was the bomb. What fun, and the staff were top professional. I only stayed for 2 nights but wished it as longer. Very helpful in backing our rig in and tending to our every need. Will definitely return when able. Thanks again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is our second time to stay at this campground. It is very pretty and close to Williams, but we will not stay here, again. Even though they have concrete slab at each site, the one this time was no where near level. And, the idiots who parked in the site beside us, proceeded to take our picnic table and took it on the other side of their camper. Also, they were allowed to put a tent on their site. If I wanted to camp where there are tents (and I used to have a tent), I would camp some place else: not where it is a very organized, beautifully landscaped RV park. The management should be more in control. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Stayed here for four days to visit the Grand Canyon and other area attractions. This is a really good campground with friendly staff, nice grounds, and nice views. Internet connection was weak and at times non-existent. I think we had the best site with no other sites on our camper door side. Nice and private feeling. Site was not level and neither were most of the sites on the "hill." If in the area again we will surely use this KOA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Last visited this KOA in 2005, before the office burned down. They now have a new office and it is very nice. Park is well maintained and staff is very friendly. Only stayed here one night as we traveled along I-40. Will stay here again when passing through Williams AZ. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is kept well, bathrooms and showers are very clean. It was a good place to stay, but it was too crowded for us - there was usually a long wait for a bathroom and/or shower. It was also a little too far from the Grand Canyon (1 hour), but it was close to William (which is a great town!). We would stay here again if we can't find a place closer to the Canyon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I think this campground has been reopened or recently renovated. All facilities are new at this writing (pool, office, dog run, utilities connections, cabins). The roads and sites are all rock. The sites are not as level as they might be, and some effort is needed to get level. We were in need of a campsite en route to the Grand Canyon, called at 8AM and the manager was very helpful in getting us in early. He also was helpful with information for the town of Williams. The campground is handy if driving on I-40 and you wish to go to the Grand Canyon (50 miles north). They have a nice fenced dog run also. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were with a group and found the park very nice. However, there was a long wait for the showers. The employees were nice and park quiet. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground is convenient to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and Sedona. The camp site arrangement is circular and we camped in the outer ring. The center of the ring is all of the camp services, store, indoor swimming pool, showers, etc. The sites are fairly level and there are pine trees throughout to provide shade. The folks that run the place are very nice and the staff is helpful. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has a long way to go to be in the list of best parks. Cabins are new and nice, showers are new and nice even though we didn't use them. I did look them over though. They had a fire 2 years ago and they still don't have their office and store rebuilt. The pool was not open either. The dump station is only accessible when you pull in so if you need it when you are leaving you have to drive around the campground twice. Water pressure was lousy. We were told that they have to truck in all their water as there is no water table where they are. The WiFi was weak also. This may be because there is no office right now so maybe we were lucky to have WiFi at all. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The staff seemed very friendly when we checked in, and the escort that showed us to our site in the dark helped my husband hook up, which was nice. Their brochure showed a "community campfire" area, but nothing was happening when we were there. We saw parts of a new miniature golf course leaning up against a barn - but it is not installed yet. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great campground and an excellent central location to tour the many sites and attractions in Northern Arizona. Many delays are dragging the construction of the new building and swimming pool out past the dates predicted on the KOA website, and the staff here are not sure when everything will be completed and open. Don't let that stop you from coming here though! The sites are clean, spacious, and level and everything in the campground that is not under construction is well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful and very familiar with things to do and see in Northern Arizona. The Grand Canyon is only 45 minutes from here and some of the other attractions within easy driving distance are the Meteor Crater, Walnut Canyon, Sedona, Sunset Crater, and a bunch of neat "ghost" towns. I've been here for a week with my grandkids and they're having a ball. Even without the swimming pool and usual KOA amenities. Lots of other families and kids here in a quiet, safe location. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is undergoing a rebuild due to a fire in the offices. The staff went out of their way to make us welcome. The facilities in operation were very well maintained. They have a fenced dog exercise area which was great. This made a perfect base camp for our visit to the Grand Canyon, Williams, Sedona and Flagstaff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I only rated this park low because it is under construction and not every thing is open after a fire destroyed the office. It also looks like they have recently redone the 50 amp area. (They did discount the rate by $10 because they were not able to give every thing that was advertised.) Not all the restrooms were open yet and not all the dumpsters shown on the map are there. Nice couple running the place (work campers). We camped here in a Motorhome.
Of the RV Parks we saw in the area of Williams, this KOA was the nicest. Lots of trees, and. lots for kids to do. Very clean as well. Also, very quiet at night. We were told that this KOA had cable TV and Wi-Fi at every site. There was no cable TV. The Wi-Fi operation was very poor. During the morning and evening hours it was virtually unusable. Would I stay here again? Wi-Fi kills it for me. I like the park, but I refuse to return to RV Parks that advertise Wi-Fi and then don't deliver a product that works. So, I would probably give it a no. But, if Wi-Fi isn't important for you, then this is a terrific place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is another one of those sites I keep finding myself at, I have a soft spot for it and always got on well with the previous owners. Sadly a fire has destroyed the main building and the new owners are currently operating out of an RV. However, I found the new people very friendly and construction has started on new facilities now. This is the closest KOA to the Canyon and VERY quiet, clear skies and cool nights. A good place for a chat round a campfire. It is some 5 miles out of Williams so there is very little nearby. There is a Gas Station that is well stocked and an Indian Crafts shop next door. Good Level sites and once the new building is up, I shall be staying there again to see how its progressed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This KOA was very overpriced for the services offered. We had electric, water and a dump station. In a smaller rig like ours, the Grey and Black tanks do not last long with 2 people using the rest room and shower on board so we had to dump the next morning. This KOA experienced a bad fire and the building was gone. There were no sewer hookups. To add to this lack of service, they asked for $5 to use the dump station. While we probably wouldn't go back here, they do have an asset; they were miles from the train tracks so the night we spend there was very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were very nice. We took a guided tour by a Native American Navaho guide and the tour was well worth the price. "Milton" Made the trip a big success. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Clean, neat, well organized, but very barren-no grass, clinkers, hard on the dogs paws! We would pass the next time, after riding the train, no need to stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a blacktopped parking lot with red lava rocks between sites. Not very "pretty" but this is the desert. Great sites, lovely restrooms and showers. All amenities (pool, playground, etc.) are at the hotel across the street. Nice place to visit the town of Williams. Without the train trip package, rate is $44. There are no signs from the x-way to the campground and lots of people get lost. Desk clerks are aware of the problem but corporate hasn't helped. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here in our Motorhome the night before a Grand canyon visit. Park was clean and fairly quite although we were on the side closest to the highway, so you could hear trucks at times, but not bothersome at all. Played free horse shoes while the Boys rode pedal carts around track for a nominal fee. Didn't use pool, bathroom and showers were very nice. Operators and employees also very friendly. Overall nothing to rave about but certainly no complaints. Would Probably come back if I couldn't get a Grand Canyon site. Our site was very level. We camped here in a Motorhome.
No problem getting my 51' RV and toad into the site. Site was not level. Saturday night entertainment included a singing cowboy/cowgirl duo and hayrides. Huge movie rental selection. Although sites had gravel, the red gravel was very dusty. The playground was terrible. The pool (heated and indoors) wasn't very clean. Minigolf and bike track not included - all added $. Kitchen serves breakfast. Huge cinnamon rolls were delicious. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to stay. With all the tall pines, plus not that far of a drive to the grand canyon. They were limited on water and were hauling water in daily. I guess it was due to the drought they were having. If you used the public shower you had to pump up the pressure to take a shower, but if using the shower in your rig there was no problem. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great place to travel to the Grand Canyon. The railway is well-run as is the RV park. Good shuttle service to the hotel and restaurant. Lots of things to see in Williams. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Backs to National Forest for walking pets which is the biggest plus for us. Sites clean. There nightly movie was a little too loud and you have to be careful which site you have because your satellite dish might not work due to the trees. Stayed in site 82. Staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed one night We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here when the Circle Pines KOA wouldn't let anyone stay for less than 3 nights, and we were pleased with it. We were in a tent trailer, and we were put in an area with other tent trailers and smaller RVs. The showers and restrooms were clean, the pool was well-kept, as were the grounds. The pool is an indoor, heated pool, so it's 'swimable' all times of the year. This campground is about 8 miles up the road headed to the GC out of Williams, so you don't have the I-40 noise. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Gravel parking lot style camping. 40-50 feet between spaces. Wide roads for easy manuvering with big rigs. Good, strong WIFI. Weekend meal served out back with live C&W entertainment. Pretty good too. Pool in a green house was too hot enjoy. Kids won't know the difference though. Dusty but far enough from highway to be quiet. Store nice, well stocked, and friendly staff. No sewage connections at sites. Gray water leaked each night from most RV's We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice campground in an excellent location. They have a Cowboy BBQ and live entertainment nightly and the food prices for the BBQ are very reasonable. The swimming pool is indoors. The only bad thing about this KOA is they didn't have a playground. They had a spot for one, but when we walked by it, all of the equipment was taken down and leaning up against the building. They only have a few sewer sites also. If we were out this way again, we would probably stay here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I wanted to leave a review, but we did not stay here. We had planned our Grand Canyon trip for about a year, with this campground being our destination. We drove up, and were so dissappointed. We couldn't believe all the good reviews. First they had only a few full hookups, and then when we looked at the pool, (as we have a daughter and this was very important). It was nothing like the photo on their website, it looked like a very old greenhouse cover over it. We left and drove back to the Grand Canyon Railroad RV Park and stayed there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great home base park for visiting the Grand Canyon. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Park is extremely clean and efficient. All sites are paved with great utilities (including CTV). We planned on staying only two nights but stayed four. Would absolutely stay again in the future if in the area. Simply stated, the amenities were outstanding. Rate reflects PPA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I just finished 7 nights at the $20 passport rate. The park is clean, paved, and well maintained. The only noise is from the trains, very close by. Walking distance to town and the Grand Canyon Railroad. I would have rated higher, but the internet speeds are terrible. My Verizon is 20 times faster. Xanterra should do something about this. Otherwise, great park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice Park. Everything looks good, clean, and cared for. Outside workers work very hard keeping things nice. Office staff are somewhat unhelpful and could use some training in public relations. Hotel buffet is outrageously overpriced at $20/person. Other than that, the RV park itself is a very good place to stay. The rate quoted reflects membership in Passport America. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Price denoted Passport America rate. Nice park. Stayed in October and toured the Grand Canyon, then stayed again the following March. Concrete roads and sites. Very nice and level. Great Wi-Fi and cable. Will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean, very complete, very moderm park with 14 rules, and sites so close you can smell your neighbor. If you like modern and clean, wonderful. If you like quiet and space, not so good. We had tickets for the Grand Canyon train the next day and set our alarm for 5:30. The train rolled through about 75 feet away all 2 miles of train with the horn at full blast at 5:29! I almost fell out of bed! If you want to take the train, and like super-modern camp grounds, this is for you! It wasn't for us. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff was awesome! Due to a delay caused by truck breakdown, I had to call and change reservations. The staff was extremely helpful in changing reservations for our site and train trip to the Canyon. I would recommend this park. Very clean, showers, and laundry area. Close to canyon train and shops plus lots of historical stuff. Plenty of parking room, clean sites and very pet friendly. Has pet kennel for those who plan on taking train trip, driving to Canyon or staying several days to explore canyon. Loved the train trip and entertainers/historians on the train. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Staff was great and helpful. Very convenient and if staying there be sure to check in BEFORE getting gas (Chevron just before park entrance) as there is a discount the campground can get for you at that station. Convenient for car or train trips to the Grand Canyon. Park entrance needs some work. Best views are those facing the south east. Despite proximity to I-40, very quite. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent RV park in a good location to all sites in northern Arizona. Very clean park with easy to get into sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful with local information. Beautiful sunsets. We would recommend this park to everyone. Easy walk to the main street of Williams, a cute little 50's town, good restaurants, gift shops and friendly people. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park with good roads and asphalt sites. Pads under your levelers were required. Hotel next door had a non-elaborate pool, spa, and gym, and could be used by RV park guests. Town was an easy walk or bike ride. Train to Grand Canyon was a short walk. Rate reflects PA rate. Cowboy show before train departure was fun. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I was hoping for better. Price reflects Passport America. When I first called their national reservation line I was told that they no longer take Passport America. I checked with Passport America because it's still showing on line. I called back and the second person accepted Passport America. We stayed a couple of days, went to the Grand Canyon and came back for one night. When I made the reservation for the second stay I was told by an employee that you can only stay once - no second reservation. I later checked with another employee that allowed me to make reservations for the second stay. Parking spaces are close. Your close enough to your neighbor that when you put your awning out and set under it you are less than 3 foot away from your neighbors sewer connection, sometimes aromatic if they don't use the right hose connection. No one patrols, so not much attention paid to the ‘rules’ you agree to and sign for when checking in. We had fireworks (just a couple), parties on Saturday night that lasted until 3AM, people building fires in portable fire pits. Just across from us one 5th wheeler had 3 cars of 'friends' show up after dark for the party and stayed all night. One of the rules is to use pads under jacks when you level, but we saw many not using them. Dogs not on leash and owners not cleaning up. All asphalt, plenty of pull trough’s as long as people don’t park in the streets, almost level sites or at least most are close. Internet is a slow trickle. If your familiar with the term I measured .4mbps down and half of that for upload. Almost enough to answer emails if your patient. Close walk to downtown and the tourist attractions. Close walk to grocery store and other services. Again, I was really hoping for better - based on the price. It is a nice clean newer park, but without rules and regulations being adhered to I just don't think I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Friendly, efficient staff. Will be nicer here when the tiny trees mature; it feels like a big parking lot right now. Good news: right next to the Grand Canyon railway depot. Bad news: freight trains come blaring by between 4:30 and 5:30 am. Very clean showers and laundry room, with oldies but goodies playing round the clock. Marking down to 8 because too many sites are right next to the communal BBQ area, where loud, inconsiderate groups gather at night (okay, if you're one of them, that might be a plus). We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice RV park. Our rate reflects the Passport America rate (1/2 off) which they will give you for up to 7 days. Route 66 and the town is within walking distance. You get full access to the hotel amenities. All sites and roads are paved. The WiFi is very strong and fast. The bath house and laundry room are top notch. We would definitely stay here again. The Grand Canyon is an hours drive north on a very good road. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access off I-40. Very helpful staff. Office and facilities are spotless. Level asphalt sites, paved roads, easy to maneuver. Wi-Fi, cable and all utilities worked well with easy access. The RV Park is part of the Grand Canyon RR Hotel and Train. Sites are a little close with no shade, however it’s a newer park and will have shade when the trees mature. Williams is within walking distance and a great place to spend a few days to enjoy the Grand Canyon or the train to the Grand Canyon. Price is the Passport America fee: 50% of the regular fee. Many good parks in Williams however, the access to the hotel and Williams with the Passport Discount make this more appealing. Will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Site was a concrete slab but not level which surprised me. The park is clean, trees very small but very close to the town of Williams, short walk. The train is right behind the park but the whistle was not an issue. The pool/hottub is in the hotel down the street: less than ideal. I have stayed here before and I like it because it's clean and close to town. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Have to give it a rare 10. Sites are easy though a tad close, roads great, a kennel to board your pet while enjoying area, train noise not offensive. And they have become Passport. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price reflects nightly rate with Good Sam discount. Great new park, certainly the nicest in Williams. 100% asphalt paved with crushed lava rock and young aspen and pine trees in between sites. In a few years, these trees will give shade but for now there is little to none throughout the park. The sites are all 50A FHU 65' pull throughs and there are 4 pairs of "buddy" sites available (facing opposite directions so your awnings would face each other). Hookups worked fine, cable TV was clear, and Wi-Fi was strong. Campers are provided a key card which gives access to the hotel facilities, including a pool. Historic downtown Williams is within walking distance and has lots of fun places to eat and sight see. There are train tracks on the south side of the park and Interstate 40 is in the distance to the north. Neither is too noisy during the day or night. This park is not necessarily a destination park anyways, more like an overnight or a nice place to stay and ride the train to the Grand Canyon. We used this park as an overnight and we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Parking lot camping with a gravel picnic table area at each site. Plenty of room for any size RV. Pool is about a quarter mile walk inside the hotel affiliated with the campground. There is a golf cart shuttle you can call for. Close to town and restaurants and great Wi-Fi. Not much else to say, it is basically a large paved campground and nothing more. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very helpful and friendly staff. One is allowed to use the facilities of the hotel, which are first class. Just a short walk across the street. Sites are paved, but close neighbors if all sites full. Wi-Fi service was on the slow side. Close enough to Williams for easy bicycle access. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean and new park. We camped here to visit Williams and take the train to the Grand Canyon. The sites were asphalt and very level. We did not use the restrooms or shower but we used the laundry which was very clean. The check in is at the convenience store across the street and the staff was very friendly. The cable was good but the Wi-Fi was spotty. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a VERY nice park. The restrooms are very clean and well maintained. The area is beside a railroad track, but there were not enough trains to cause any kind of problems. The park has a very clean and well kept kennel so we were able to kennel our dog while visiting the Grand Canyon. We cannot say enough about how nice this park and their staff were. Williams is a great little town and is well within walking distance to the park. Can't wait to go back!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park. Only thing missing are taller trees or would give it a ten, but they will grow. Nice new facilities. Walk to a Williams old town. Nice staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've stayed at this park numerous times over the years and once again it delivers. Long and wide sites, hookups work great, great office staff. It's true that a train comes by in the morning but it never seems to bother us. Twenty dollars was the Passport America rate. It doesn't show in the PA directory but since they were previously CampClub I asked, and was pleasantly surprised when I was told yes. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here as part of a package deal on the train ride to GC, bus tour and lunch. Regular rate is $39 before any discounts. Very nice park, wonderful bathrooms although no hot water one night, and no shower shelf for shampoo, etc. Paved sites not level and would be very hot in summer. Hookups well-placed but cable tv had some problems. Nice walk to town and depot. Train ride was long & boring, would rather drive to the Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Phenomenal place to stay. Seems brand new and it is very clean. You're basically in a parking lot, but the RV pads are huge and the facilities are convenient. The camp store has everything you could want and the hotel will send a shuttle for you if you want to use the pool or eat at their restaurant. If you stay here, the railway is a must. It was an unforgettable adventure for the kids and the trip was first class. One word of caution, the Winchester restaurant which is co-located but not affiliated is an expensive night out. First class entertainment and service, but hard to get out of there under $200 bucks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great Park. Staff very friendly. All spots were very long and asphalt with a concrete patio. The park requires you to have at least 12x12 pads under your leveling jacks. If you don’t have any, they will give them to you to borrow. I felt the spots were a little cramped, but about average for RV parks around the country. Bathhouses and showers were very clean (loved the 60’s music they pump throughout the park). I saw that some have complained about the lack of hot water, I never had an issue. I think if people are using the laundry facilities, there may be a lack of hot water). The park also allows access to their hotel exercise facilities and indoor pool. The train depot is right next door and on occasions you can hear it roll in. A few times at 2:30am. I am a heavy sleeper so I only heard it once during the night. Williams is only a few blocks away and also a great old town with some great restaurants. We drove ourselves to the Canyon and didn’t utilize the train. Overall I would stay here again. We camped here for 4 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful park! Great location to access the town of WIlliams and the Grand Canyon. Well maintained, friendly staff, but won't return. The train runs ALL NIGHT and is adjacent to the RV park. The highway is on the other side: too noisy. Too bad, such a great place!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice park with paved streets and paved sites. A small problem is that it is located adjacent to a railroad track but very few trains come so sleep should not be problem. For those with pets, the walkway for pets around the perimeter of the park is made up of very sharp stones and our dog choose to walk on the curb rather than the stones. Also, the area surrounding the sites is made up of very fine red crushed rock and is easily tracked into the RV. Hard to avoid. But overall a very nice park to stay in for the train ride to the Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I didn't like this park. It has all the bells and whistles and on paper looks like it should be luxurious, but it left me cold. Maybe if I had had time to stick around for the train ride I'd have been left with a better impression. Basically, it seemed very overpriced. There was a shuttle to various places that came with the price, like a restaurant, hotel, and gym, but nothing was within walking distance. I was extremely unhappy with the showers--it was impossible to get hot water, and the water pressure was terrible. I get hotter showers with better pressure in my motorhome! There's a nice fire and seating area by the restrooms, where there are also phones where you can call to ask for a shuttle pick-up. My site was level and easy to pull into. There was a long list of rules to follow. Another reviewer called it "corporate," I think, and that's a really good description. I could hear the trains, but I kind of like that so it didn't bother me. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I stayed here for 2 days. Campground elevation is 6,680 feet. Maneuvering my 40 footer towinga dinghy in the park was no problem. Roads and sites are asphalt and the patio is gravel. Site spacing is fair. Pull through sites hold a 40 foot motorhome and tow. My site 221 offered 30/50 amp service & full hookups. WI-FI and cable was included in the daily rate. I was able to receive AT&T Wireless, G2 Internet ,& Cellular service. I received Dish Network 110/119 Satellite TV from dish on roof of motorhome. Campground is pet friendly. Walmart is 34 miles away and Safeway was 1. I am unable to comment on other amenities due to not using them. My site and friends next to mine have too much slope front to rear. He was unable to completely level his motorhome. I was able to level mine but could not get the steps out due to hitting the pad. I could have leveled it enough to get the steps out but would have had to lift the rear wheels off the ground to do so. Both of us are in Class A diesels. Another negative is there is not one blade of grass in the park for our little furry friends. Other than these two things, it is a great park with a lot to do in the area. Campground was quiet and open. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Senior Federal Parks Pass discount on entire camping/train to the canyon package. This is not a campground: rather a nicely appointed, newer RV park located right in the town of Williams. Concrete pads and interior roads. Pull through and back-in sites available. Clean, neat and grassy between sites. All the bells and whistles: full hook-ups, pool, cable TV, pet resort, fitness room, pub. Some train noise from the spur line which borders one side, and hiway on the other side of this park. No problem with satellite TV, Verizon or aircard reception. We visited to enjoy the entire railroad experience to/from the canyon. Would check out other parks with our next trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Office staff was friendly and check in was easy, but they are not adequately trained on how to make reservations on the train to the Grand Canyon. We had great difficulty leveling and never got the coach completely level. The park is clean and well cared for. Wi-Fi left a lot to be desired and was not dependable at all. There is easy access to the town of Williams where there are some fun places to eat. The Depot Restaurant onsite was a complete ripoff. We really enjoyed Pine Country Restaurant downtown. We will stay here again but we will choose a more level site if we have the opportunity to do so. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice and clean park. All of the sites are asphalt. We had a pull through which was long enough for our rig and toad. It was a bit unlevel, but we were able to level using our jacks. A motorhome located two sites down from us had to use blocks under the rear wheels and jacks in order to get level, so choose your site carefully. This park definitely has a corporate feel. We heard a couple of trains each night, but did not find them to be a problem. My only complaints were of the long wait times while making telephonic reservations and the poor signage directing people to the appropriate check in center at the store. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The only reasons I gave an 8 were that there is no grass and some train noise. This park is kept up very well and offers walking access to downtown Williams and the train into the Grand Canyon. Nice employees. Some sites are hard to level on, but most are fine. This is our second visit here and will stay here again next time we are out West. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Once again, a wonderful experience. Nice mountain views, walking distance to town, great Wi-Fi, large sites, friendly staff. Price reflects Camp Club USA membership. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park and location and very nice staff. Close to Grand Canyon and a wonderful town with wonderful people. Park is very well maintained and plenty of room to navigate between sites. Will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is new and nice, however the sites are not level. If you have a short coach you won't notice it but if your coach is long you may end up with your wheels in the air. We had to move once to find one we could get level in. The first site had my right rear tires in the air as it side sloped so much. The class A behind us in the second site had air under his front wheels. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a clean park with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The above price reflects a weekly amount as we stayed for three weeks. Except for the trains it was very quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice, clean park with all paved sites, no landscaping. Is corporate owned with nice big office/store. Didn't use amenities at hotel next door but enjoyed the location to town. Ate at the best restaurant in town twice called Red Raven! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice. We stayed for two days and the only thing that was not perfect was the pool for the kids was across the road in the motel. There was a free shuttle, and it was okay, but just not great. I got mixed up coming in to register, you go past the office on the right, ignore the sign that points to the right, then turn right on the next street and come back through the parking lot. Nicest bathrooms ever. No shade, so your satellite will work fine. Good water and electric. Will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean RV park and quiet neighbors (ignoring the fact it sits off the highway) and helpful staff. Walking distance to Williams small town center, which proved to have a bit of a spark to it the night we stayed. 60 miles from Grand Canyon National Park South Rim which has free shuttle. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our 5th stay here. Love the fact that we are near the train tracks, which could be a deterrent if you're not train-lovers. It's nice to be able to ride a bicycle into town. The park was clean and well taken care of. We like that fact that it's all paved. Wi-Fi and cable worked acceptably. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very nice park, with NO shade anywhere. We stayed in conjunction with the train trip to Grand Canyon. The bath and laundry facilities were very clean and the staff was very nice. We would recommend this package to anyone visiting the Canyon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We loved this campground. It is immaculate and appears to be a newer facility. The restrooms and showers were beautiful! We’ve never seen such nice, high end bathrooms and showers at any campground. Fires are not allowed, but they do have a large community, gas fire pit which they light nightly. They also provide gas bar-b-qs. The campground is adjacent to an active railroad line with trains that go through a few times a night, but the noise really didn’t bother us much. Just be aware if you are a light sleeper. There is a nearby, indoor pool, at the hotel on the same property. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It's been a while since we stayed here last. As always, this park delivers. Easy on and off I-40. Big and wide sites that are paved, utilities that work great, and at the CampClub rate of about 23 bucks it's worth every penny. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for two nights and took the train up to the Grand Canyon. This is one of the more pricey parks, but high quality, and a nice way to see the Grand Canyon if you just want to spend a few hours there. If you want to do some serious hiking or donkey rides, etc. at the canyon, you will not have time. The train only leaves you there for about half a day. The train ride is enjoyable, but also pricey. The park itself is clean, well maintained, & pet friendly (although greenery is hard to find). There is a playground and pool on the hotel grounds available to RV'rs. We made use of both, and it was easy. Staff we encountered were all very friendly & helpful. Restrooms and laundry room clean and functional. Williams is an easy walk with many resaurants, tourist shops, etc. A word of warning: Williams is a tourist town, and everything is more expensive there--especially gas. Gas is 50 cents per gallon more at the local stations than it is 30-50 miles down the road. Gas up before you get there or after you leave! We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice place. Well maintained. The other review complained about not having fire-pits, well this is an RV park and not a campground and with the fire problems in Arizona I can completely understand. We prefer a RV park rather than a campground. We stay there every time coming along I-40 and have taken the train to the canyon, what a super experience. Every time we have stayed here we have not unhooked because we enjoy Route 66, and it is within easy walking distance. This is very easy in, and out. Our rate was CampClub USA. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a well kept and clean park, but relatively basic. They provide a picnic table, but the site itself is filled with sharp red rock gravel. No grass anywhere, which makes it difficult if you have a dog to walk. Also, be prepared for loud train whistles at 6 am nearly every day. We did not get much sleep. Williams is a cute old town and the park is a good location for visiting the Grand Canyon and Sedona. And if you want to take the railway to the canyon, it is an ideal location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a large modern RV park that is big-rig friendly. Sites are paved with lava rock in between. Rock likes to migrate inside so be careful as it can really destroy smooth floors. Staff in the check in area was nice and friendly. WiFi was sketchy in our group’s sites. Nice shower/laundry room however, odd they only have 2 men’s stalls for such a huge park. The cable TV worked good and had a good channel selection. There is no grassy (or even dirt) areas for fido; the dog-run is pretty much gravel/lava rock. Our site was not perfectly level side-to-side but we lived with it. Staff makes you sign, stating you must use pads under any stab jack points as well as acknowledging mandatory use of ramps for sewer hose. Park is directly adjacent to the train tracks (in linear fashion). Over a holiday weekend we saw probably 6 trains a day. Didn’t bother us, but be aware the tracks are right here and they will blow the horn going through those crossings. So if you’re noise-sensitive (or fido is) then you may want to consider other choices. The pool inside the hotel is nice but it is a hike from a majority of the sites. They do offer golf-cart shuttle service which is a help getting to/from the hotel amenities. One thing that is a major drag here is no campfires are allowed, not even in self-contained fire pits. For that reason alone we would be hard-pressed to go back. It’s not camping, (especially in a group setting with kids) when you cannot have a campfire. In addition here’s a special note about the weather. Although not the campground's fault, the winds blew as hard as 55-60 mph for almost the entire 3 days we stayed here, which made it miserable. It blew so hard one day it lifted one corner of the trailer up off the wooden 4x12 block. I had a stab jack cranked down and blew it more than half way under the trailer!! The temps also got down to 30 degrees at night over Memorial weekend. All in all, a nice park but can’t give it a ‘10’ as there was no soft area for fido to walk on, the train noise, and a no-campfire policy. Would consider for an overnight again but that’s probably it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice, newer park (5 years old). The park itself has few amenities but the RVers have access to the hotel amenities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Since the park is new, it is very big rig friendly. The train tracks are very close but the train noise is not an issue. We used the Camp Club Discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice, big parking lot with very modern hookups and no trees. They require the use of jack pads, which they sell at the nice office/store. Williams is a Route 66 tourist trap. I was determined to ride the train to the canyon, and if that's what you want to do, this is the best place to do it. The train depot is a short walk from the park. Next time I will stay at the canyon. Train ride was 2+ hrs both ways, and we only had 3-1/2 hours at the canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed one night while passing through. Nice facilities, long and level pull-through with full hook ups. Big rig friendly. The only negatives were no security and upon check-in we were informed that we must have our sewer hose on a raised ramp. They actually made us sign a form stating we would ramp our hose. We do not carry a hose ramp or slinky with us and had to stack up leveling blocks to create one. This is our first experience with this sort of requirement across the U.S. We would stay again despite the hose requirement. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This location has clean, well marked, entrance and sites with a very friendly and helpful staff. The check-in person was very helpful with options and activities. The office is open until 8 pm. RV site has option to use pool, hot tub and exercise room and adjacent hotel (with key cards). Good water pressure (> 60 PSI), power 122 VAC, cable was not full strength to give a great picture, but no problem with satellite. Small store located at the check-in point. The train is just south of the campground (what in Williams isn’t near the trains), and there is a train that goes to the Grand Canyon, with a package rate with the campground. Used the Camp Club rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a really nice RV park. Everything was exceptional. They had a special with the train up the Canyon that I had researched prior to getting to the park. The reason for staying here was to see the Grand Canyon. We could have stayed up at the Canyon but did not know that until we took the train up to the south rim. Fun ride and good to get out of the RV for a day but pretty expensive. Next time I would stay up at the south rim RV park so we could have more time at the south rim. The only reason I gave an 8 instead of a 10 was that the staff person did not let us know that was an option but then again we did not ask. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice and clean RV park that accommodates the biggest rigs with any number of slides. All roads are blacktop, few small trees and volcanic rock between the narrow sites. The utilities are modern and well placed. The WiFi was excellent. The laundry was large and clean. The patio area has tables and gas BBQs which were very clean. RV'ers are able to use the adjacent hotel pool and spa which was very nice. We knew we were camping when our neighbor decided to dump as we were BBQing dinner! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is really a nice campground. It’s within walking distance to the Grand Canyon Railroad and close to the Grand Canyon South Rim (50 miles) and the three National Monuments in Flagstaff. The Park offers train rides to the Grand Canyon. The park has long and level paved sites; roads are very wide and also paved. The showers and bathrooms are very clean. We had no problems getting a reception on our Verizon cell phone or wireless internet card. Cable and satellite reception were fantastic. The Park is within walking distance of restaurants and a super market. The negatives are no shade trees and you hear trains go by frequently during the day. We highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The sites were not very level. There were only two toilets for 124 sites. The showers were very clean, tiled and well equipped. The laundry is very clean. There is a large covered picnic area. We were charged full price to store our trailer here while we took the train to the Grand Canyon. The staff for the railway were not helpful with our luggage. The park is located in the heart of Williams, AZ. We probably would not stay here again because we felt we were overcharged. The staff seemed to be indifferent. The train is a good adventure, but the RV park is not. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I guess if you like camping in a parking lot this is fine. It's way overpriced for the location although the amenities are nice. Spaces are very small, concrete and lava rock, and your picnic table is right next to your neighbors sewer hookup - not appetizing for breakfast. It's very clean, has a playground, convenience store & gas fire pit/ramada area by the bathroom/laundry/shower building. The hotel and restaurants are beautiful and there is a shuttle to take you there. If traveling on the train to the Grand Canyon, this is a great place for temporary parking. The best thing about this park is that you can walk into town at night to all the restaurants & shops in historic Williams. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Yes, it is new. But it is a new parking lot. Directions say check-in is at the convenience store, but there is only a tiny sign on the road opposite the 'park' to indicate where it is. We saw numerous rigs driving around in circles trying to locate registration - we were one of these. Yes, it has new asphalt sites. However, all pull-through sites slope dramatically back to front. Smaller rigs and fifth wheels will probably not have a problem. Forty footers and up will not be able to level easily. We changed sites and still had to drive up on blocks to get close to level. We saw many big rigs with their right front tire off the ground, their jacks supporting the front weight of the coach. Maps given for the train are not accurate, buildings are on it are reversed. Cable was great, Wi-Fi very sporadic. The park was not full but best connection we had was 3 bars, slow response time, frequent drops. As someone said earlier you get what you pay for. In this case, value for cost if not equal. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It's been a while since we stayed there last. As always, this park delivers. Big and wide sites that are paved, utilities that work great, and at the CampClub rate of about 23 bucks it's worth every penny. One thing of note that I didn't like is they changed the reservation process. Now you call the same number as hotel reservations. It was aparent that the "reservationist" knew nothing about RVing and very little about the RV park. When I inquired I was told the call center is located in Colorado. All told we'll stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV park is great! It compliments the location. I can't say anything bad about it, however, the other half said it lacked shade and did not like the asphalt. For me the trees are small for now, but within time plenty of shade will be there. I don't like certain rocks, gravel, and dirt (mud); the asphalt is fine; makes it easy to level the RV. You get what you pay for (amenities and good Wi-Fi). They even honored our RV club membership discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Just spent a week in this RV park and loved it. Nice and clean; paved and location was excellent to town of Williams with shopping and restaurants;easy access for Grand Canyon, Sedona, Route 66, and other Arizona things to visit. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here before and enjoyed it, but will not stay here, again. The people in the site beside us, just took our picnic table and tried to take over our site. The skate boarding kid would just come over on our site. We did complain to Staff and they got us another picnic table, but have no idea if they said anything to the campers beside us. This park is convenient to Williams, but it is just a parking lot. Will probably go to the KOA next time in the area. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
This place is just above a parking lot, BUT, it was convenient to the Grand Canyon Railroad, and to Williams. The site we were in was not level. The TV had very limited channels, the Wi-Fi worked "OK". This place served the purpose of being close to Williams, we could have easily walked there, and we had a great experience on Route 66. The swimming pool had so much chlorine that I could hardly breathe, so no pool for me, or hot tub! There was a great deal to do and we enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Price of $42 per night, was high compared to nearby parks. Laundry room smell is overwhelming as soon as door is opened to use the bathrooms. Biggest issue here were the mosquitoes swarming everywhere. Could not go outside unless the wind was blowing. Staff had no answer for why the bugs were so bad. Once out of the campground there were no bugs! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The price reflects a package deal for 3 nights plus the train ride. We had a side by side pull through site with our travel companions. Williams Arizona is a quaint little town and the RV Park is right in the center. Sites were level, water and power used with NO issues. I was not sure about campgrounds in Williams when I was planning this trip, but I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Check in staff was not terribly friendly. Park is very clean. Restrooms are clean. The picnic pavilion with tons of picnic tables and gas grills for your use, is a very nice touch. Each night there is a fire pit lit outside the restroom/laundry building. Nice for roasting marshmallows. It is quite a walk to the hotel to use their pool and to get to the train depot. If you're in good shape, not a problem though. The shuttle driver was super friendly and could teach the front desk a thing or two about how to treat customers. He was so understanding when our special needs child was afraid to get on the open golf cart. He said "no problem" and quickly went and got a luxurious new van to drive us to the pool. He also came back in the same van to take us back to our RV site. The other campers here were real nice too. Overall, a good experience, but a little pricey and the check in personnel need some training in how to treat the people who are helping to pay their salary. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Grand Canyon RV Park is a GREAT RV park: it's well laid out and extremely well maintained. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk across the tracks to downtown Williams. The Grand Canyon Railway is also a fantastic way to see the South rim of the magnificent Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient campground for Williams and especially if you are riding the train to the Grand Canyon. You are just a couple blocks from downtown Williams and Route 66. Not really sure what we paid for the RV site as we got a package with the RV park, train ride and more. Wife didn't really care for the campgrounds since it was like a parking lot and no wood fires allowed. True, there is no rustic charm to the grounds. It is just a glorified parking lot, but for a stay in Williams it just doesn't get any more convenient. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice concrete sites. Wide and level sites. Staff was very helpful. Only negative is the reservation system. Had to go through the corporate phone system and wait for them to call back. Cannot talk directly to the RV park office. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean park, well cared for. Convenient location. Did not use laundry facilities, restrooms or pool. WiFi was OK and Verizon air card worked well. With 2 air conditioners running, we did not hear any of the noise that others talked about. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park itself is clean. The laundry room is too small for the amount of lots, with no ventilation. The pool was also much too small and shared with the motel guests. The only plus is being close to train for a ride to the canyon. Do not know if this is normal, but there were at least 200 bikers in town with some in the park who were very inconsiderate with noise and speeding through the park. The noise from the bikers, plus being 200 yards from an operating train track was not pleasant. Each night the winds were so strong it kept us awake. The winds might be related to being somewhat in a valley. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Close to downtown Williams, Route 66 and next to depot where the train to Grand Canyon leaves. RV park has access to Grand Canyon hotel facilities. The only thing that bothered me was calling the park for reservations. You have to go through a reservation system that handles all their parks, train, hotels, packages, etc. I never did get a phone number for just the RV park. Very clean park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Level concrete sites, strong power, excellent Wi-Fi, and spotless bathrooms. A new park with no shade, but you can walk to the train and the hotel. RV patrons can use the hotel pool, spa, and exercise room. An on call shuttle will drive you to and from the hotel if you do not want to walk the short distance. Great exercise room with good, working equipment. The train ride to the Grand Canyon was a hoot but the bus tour offered was a bust. Has a nice gift shop with reasonable prices. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here over Mother's Day weekend after purchasing a AAA vacation package online. It was inclusive of the Grand Canyon Train ride to the Canyon, hot lunch buffet for two, motor coach tour, two $20 gift certificates for the shops there and in the village and two nights at the RV park. The park was definitely an 8 out of 10. The only thing we wish they would have had was grass and trees. It was a bit too medicinal for us with all the concrete and decorative stones. The park was secure, the laundry room was state of the art, the bathrooms and showers were immaculate and gorgeous, the grounds were too perfect. I'm certain the "Big Rig" crowd love it but we campers finished out our stay here at The Grand Canyon across the interstate at a nearby campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price jumped once we arrived for check-in! Local taxes should be considered when prices are quoted. On top of that, requirements for pads and sewer line supports weren't mentioned until check-in. We had those items; but of course, there were stacks of them available for purchase in the office. Pads to protect the asphalt sites are understandable. But, sewer line "ramps" are unnecessary, except to increase the campground's profits. There is no grass to be trimmed, so line trimmers are not used anywhere near the sewer hoses, so their laying on the asphalt would present absolutely no problem. This campground is not worth what they charge, or the surprise requirements you are met with upon arrival. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A good park with it being so close to the Train. Walking distance to the Grocery store. Showers and restrooms were clean. Having Gas Broilers was a good touch. Not much shade from trees however you are not in the park for recreation just to sleep and eat. We enjoyed it here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is expensive but extremely nice. Paved roadways and sites, with graveled areas between sites and around outer edges. Pedestrian sidewalks and plenty of parking for cars. Very well maintained and extremely clean. Excellent amenities, including kennels. About an hour from the Grand Canyon, with plenty to do in Williams, walking distance from the campground. Lots of area attractions, in addition to the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was very clean and the showers big. We stayed 5 nights. We used the train to go to the Grand Canyon: everything was very good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Typical Corporate Attraction RV park. Has nice sized asphalt sites with convenient utility hookups. They do require sewer hose ramps (can't lay on ground) and plastic or wood blocks under any contact point of RV to the ground. Has very nice laundry and shower facilities. Pool and spa are in the Hotel across the street, so we did not use. We stayed here on a package deal for 3 days with the train ride to Grand Canyon, and Doggie Day Care for our dog. Total package was worth the price although we full time and don't normally spend that much for campgrounds. Wi-Fi was good, but we used our strong Verizon Air card. No negatives but the price would keep us away next time in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a excellent park. They have huge showers. Williams, AZ is just blocks away from the park. The people in Williams were extremely nice. Its 54 miles from the Grand Canyon. If your riding the train, its definitely the place to stay. If you want closer to the Grand Canyon, look for sites near Tusayan, AZ. The only downside to this park and the reason it received a 9 and not a 10, is that a freight train came by at 6am and 8am. If you don't have an alarm, then this maybe the park you will want to stay at. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here two nights and the rate was part of a package with the train to the Grand Canyon. The park was excellent, very clean, level paved pads. The WiFi was marginal as the wind was blowing at 36 mph and closed Interstate-40. Good location as you can walk to the train and downtown. It is very quiet. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice park, easy to locate, and although it is next to the railroad tracks, it is quiet except for an occasional train. The laundry and shower facilities are excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. The sites and road are all paved, with picnic tables at each spot. Cable TV and WiFi are free and good. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park looks brand new, everything is very neat, clean, and well maintained. It is a very short walk to the quaint shops and restaurants along old Route 66 in downtown Williams. The on site kennel was great for boarding our dogs while we went to the Grand Canyon. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only down side for pet owners is there is no fenced area to let your dog run. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here as part of The Train package. Pet hotel was fantastic. Swimming pool is indoors at the hotel across the street. We drove our tow car as the temperature was in the mid 30's. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate shown reflects a half-price CC USA discount. We stayed here through a record snow storm for the area. Snow plows cleared the drives regularly to make ingress and egress possible and when we were ready to leave, they made a special effort to clear for our maneuvering in a big rig. We enjoyed the nearby Elk Ridge ski area that was very small, but very family friendly. We also escaped cabin fever at the associated hotel for a couple of meals at the bar. We checked on the buffet and were shocked at the ridiculous $20 charge for fare such as Shepherd's Pie and corn dogs. If in the area, we will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a great launching point to visit the Grand Canyon. We have an infant and another on the way, so the round-trip train package was the perfect way to visit the Grand Canyon without being too much of a hassle. You only get about 3.5 hours in the park, but during the dead of winter, that was plenty of time. There was a bunch of snow on the ground, but the park was still clean, and the availability of the hotel amenities (pool, fitness center, restaurant, etc) was a nice addition. Would definitely stay again the next time we visit the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
On our way through Williams, we were going to stay at another RV Park but noticed this one near downtown. Definitely set up for excursions to Grand Canyon, but the location is great. The nearby train blows its whistle and can be a little noisy, but it stops about 8:30pm. The bathrooms were very clean. With snow on the ground, only about half the park was plowed for use but even then it was not full. We will return again on our next journey through this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Walking distance to downtown, and the Grand Canyon railroad station. Clean restrooms and laundry. Clean RV park with friendly personnel and a pet hotel available if you do not want to leave your pets in the RV while going to the canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Lots of empty sites. Was told on phone Passport America was available. When we got there, Passport America rate was unavailable. Why??? Anyway, the park was delightful besides that. Great proximity to the Grand Canyon! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The previous posts are quite accurate however I'd like to add this park is completely open to anyone who might venture in off the road. There was no visible security observed. If you possess a Concealed Carry permit, have passed the requirements including a FBI background, fingerprint check and strict weapons training you might want to look at another park in the area as you will not be welcome here. No, I was not challenged by management nor did I make any issues of their policy. I am just reporting what other reviewers have overlooked. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice RV park: with paved roads and sites, gravel between sites, no tables. 65-foot long pull-through sites. The utilities worked fine. Can use the hotel pool and exercise room. Verizon air card worked well, didn't try the Wi-Fi We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good campground: has good Wi-Fi, is easy on/off I-40 and had plenty of room for our 45' motorhome. No dust, no dirt. Good stop-off for an overnight, or stay and visit the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a fairly new RV park that opened in 2006. The restrooms/showers were very nice and clean and the sites were nice and level. The sites were paved and the people were friendly. There is a pool available for use at the hotel next door but we didn't utilize it so cannot comment. We booked the Railway special which included roundtrip tickets on the train to the Grand Canyon so I am unsure if there was a charge for the campground as the price we paid seems to be in line with what we would have paid for the train tickets with perhaps a nominal additional nightly fee of $10 or less. This is really a parking lot with paved RV spaces so it wouldn't be a good fit for a long term stay. It's within walking distance of Route 66 for groceries and food but we were not able to find any really good food in town, it's all about the experience I guess. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of those paved subdivision type campgrounds. The price of a site is high, but everything is upscale. If the intent is to park your RV here and take the train to the south rim of the canyon, this is the place to stay. If for no other reason than there is a price break for combining the two and the icing on the cake is that you get to use, without charge, the amenities of the hotel. The cable channels are limited, but satellite signals are unimpeded. Wi-Fi signals are strong. There aren’t any individual site picnic tables, but there is a very nice centrally located pavilion with tables and gas BBQ grills. The bathhouse is a superior facility. The reason that I’m not giving this a ten is that my reservation was butchered beyond the limit, there is a fair amount of road and train noise, and there are street lamps at every other pad that light up the inside of the rig at night. Customer service is very good. We camped here in a Motorhome.
An excellent park overall so now I will get picky with park designers.
1st: Why do they insist on placing the cable connection in a box at ankle height with a cover that lifts up making it impossible to see the connection if you are not laying on the ground?
2nd: They have beautiful shower facilities however, the handicap shower has a six-inch high threshold to get into the shower.
Remember, we love this park, just getting picky with designers. It has a great location, Wi-Fi, cable TV, and hookups except as noted. We will always stay here when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is everything we hoped for. It was our home for a week, and everybody who works there are very customer oriented. It is important that they meet all your needs and they did just that. Very friendly and made you feel welcome. Showers and bathrooms were immaculate tiled with stone! Location to Williams was perfect, walk across the railroad tracks and there you are. We would return again. Cannot say enough of the great time we had here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is one of our favorite parks. The park is well laid out, well maintained and offers its guests lots of amenities. You can call a shuttle to take you to the hotel where you can use their indoor pool, workout room or check-out the railroad station restaurant and gift shop. The kennel is outstanding and we would have no hesitation leaving our kids there again. The town of Williams has several local eateries worth checking out and are close enough to walk to. The weather in Williams is awesome and the area surrounding the park is very pretty. This is our third time here and we would definitely stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is a great clean park. Since it is new there are no trees. It is very clean and well maintained. The only drawback was lack of picnic tables and this makes it feel like a large parking lot. We got a combo, stay and train ride to the campground. We did use dog hotel for our dog and it was great. We ate out in the town (short walk) and I have to recommend Buffalo Pointe restaurant (great inexpensive food). We camped here in a Motorhome.
First class. Extremely well maintained. Lots of room. Restrooms and showers were very clean, spacious and well maintained. Within walking distance of a stroll on old route 66. Lots of fun and good gifts and eats. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here for three nights with our grand kids. It is a very nice park, with a playground. We rode the train to the Grand Canyon. All of the reservations and directions for the tickets to be picked up were easy and straight forward. The RV spaces are rather narrow and there are no picnic tables. Otherwise, a great, clean park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for two days over the July 4th holiday on the way from CA to OK, and then again ~10 days later on the way home. First time was part of a train package to the Grand Canyon. Cost ~$415 for two nights and 5 round trip train tickets to the Canyon. Second time was just a drive-in with no reservations, and was charged $39 total after a AAA discount. It is extremely hard to make reservations. There is no direct phone number to the park and the wait times for Xantera's central reservation system was enormous. Perhaps because of that, we saw multiple empty spots, even during the holiday weekend. Walking distance to Safeway and the train depot. Includes use of the adjacent resort's pool and spa. Has complimentary shuttles if the walk is too much. Everyone was extremely friendly. Park was spotlessly clean with nice facilities. It is close to the train tracks and you WILL be wakened by a train or two in the middle of the night. Didn't bother me at all. Negatives include narrow spaces, no tables at your site, weak Wi-Fi, and only two stalls in the very nice men's restroom, so usually a waiting line. All said, we would certainly stay there again. Just wish it was easier to make a reservation. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great park. Clean, as others have said there are picnic tables and BBQ grills available with natural gas. The negative is the trains that come through at all times of the day and night. The tracks are right next to the park. As someone else has already written, if you need mechanical work done on your toad, call Nate at Full Automotive Repair right next to the Mobil Gas Station just down the road from the park on N. Grand Canyon Blvd. These people, are fast, efficient, and trustworthy. We had an excellent experience with them. We didn't take the train this time, we felt that it is an overrated "come on". It's strictly for kids. And your time is extremely limited once you get to the Canyon. Our rate is based on our Camp Club discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park, clean, wide spots even with double slides, location for Grand Canyon is wonderful. The park has it all, play areas, food, restaurant, stores, and lots nearby. We will be back for sure! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean park with plenty of room. I am on my way next month to stay again! No problems with anything, loved the paved roads and parking areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground, located right next to the Grand Canyon Railway. Clean bathrooms and laundry. My only complaint is that the Wi-Fi signal was really poor, and I even went to the hotel lobby to try to pick up a better signal and it was weak, too. I would have given it a 10 if it weren't for that. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was way better then we expected. The site was wide there is no picnic tables or fire pit. There is a community picnic area that is very nice has gas BBQ grills, picnic tables. The laundry room was very nice. We used the the swimming pool and you just have to call for the shuttle and they where there in just a minute. Everyone was very nice. We thought it was just a parking lot with hookups but the landscape was very nice even has a walking trail around the park for you and or your pet. We bought the train package and our stay here was like $14 but the regular night stay is $39. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean and neat. Walking distance to town. Train noise was no problem. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of the cleanest RV parks I have stayed in. Has everything from an indoor pool to a daily drop in kennels for our loved Pomeranian. It features a train ride to the South rim of the Grand Canyon and a cowboy show both before leaving and on the train itself. It is located on the old Highway 66. Williams is in walking distance and is really a unique place. I highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Immaculate restroom, shower and laundry facilities. Roomy sites for big rigs with super easy turns in and out. Internet access worked well. Indoor heated swimming pool and spa located across the street at the hotel (but readily shared with RV guests) was not as clean as we like to see. The kennel was handy for our dogs to stay while we made a long day trip to the Grand Canyon. Dog walk areas (and everything on-site) were gravel - not a blade of grass anywhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park was very clean. No grass to be had as it was either asphalt or lava rock. Had to use pads under jacks and also had to use a support under your sewer hose. Staff was friendly both at the check in office and in the kennel. Price listed is an estimate as we had a package deal that included the First Class Dome car, Kennel and three night stay. If you are going to ride the train I would definitely suggest the Dome car. If you need any mechanical work like I had to have then I would suggest Canyon Gateway Tire, Auto and RV Repair. It is the Mobil Gas service station on the right as you enter Williams. I would also suggest Al's Mobile Rv Repair if you need general RV Repair work. He will come to your site. Just ask at the office and they will give you his business card. I had to use both services and they are reasonable and reliable. I can't sing enough praises for the Mobil Service station. They are very fine mechanics and do quality work. We camped here in a Motorhome.
New/Fresh/Clean. Showers/bathroom/grounds were immaculate. Concrete sites no privacy. Great place to park the RV while enjoying the beautiful Grand Canyon. Easy wide access with good turning radius to sites. Need foliage for privacy. Friendly staff. Well merchandised/clean store/check in. 1 hr from Grand Canyon. If you want a destination park in the wilderness I would stay at the RV Park at the Grand Canyon. Close to freeway but no freeway noise. The train is loud once in the middle of the night. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The Positive: Close to the train depot. Once inside, the shower area was very nice. RV Park was very clean. Ate late night dinner at Spenser's pub, (family friendly by the way,) and that was decent food, excellent minestrone soup. Highly recommend the train to the Grand Canyon, but take First Class, not coach; the difference is Greyhound bus seating versus huge, plush seats with lots of leg room, and free fruit, coffee, water & pastries in the morning, free cheese, crackers, veggies, sodas, water in the evening return. The Negative: The location is horrible. If you like trains, and the noise which accompanies them, such as whistles & ground shaking three times a night, then this is the park for you. No fire rings, and the community fire pit was not operating. Guest service: poor. Our keys did not work on the doors for the restroom/shower/laundry, nor for entry into the fitness & pool areas, though that could've been corrected by registration I suppose. While we enjoyed the train, we'd never stay here again due to noise level. Rate of $30 is an estimate--part of a package included train tickets. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access for big rigs. A good place for 1 or 2 nights, but not much longer because of the design of the parking spaces: no room for chairs, grills, etc. If you want to see the Grand Canyon via a train ride, then this place is OK. The pet walk is around the perimeter of the lot and is filled with gravel which makes it not so pet friendly. We kenneled our dog when we went to the Canyon for the day. We had a bad experience with this place because it appeared that they had forgot to feed him all day because his food was still in a bag that we had left. They said he just didn't eat, but our dog will eat anytime, and anything. To their credit, they refunded us the cost of the kennel. The train ride to the Canyon is interesting. I'd do it again for sure because the traffic at the Canyon is unbelieveable nowdays. Just take lot's of dollar bills with you because they have cowboy singers, and cowboy robbers on the train (like a show) and they work for tips. Not complaining. Just passing info :) We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was very clean. Laundry facilities were excellent. Very convenient for visiting area attractions. The only bad thing about this RV Park is that it is literally feet from the train tracks. Our trailer shook several times a night as the train passed through blaring its horn. If you can put up with that, then it is a great place to stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
If you're visiting Williams to see the Grand Canyon, especially if you want to take the train, this is the perfect place to be. This park is spotless and well-located to enjoy Williams as well. But, you need to know, the RV park is a large asphalt parking lot with about 5' of lava rock between you and your neighbor. There are no trees, no picnic tables on your site, no fire pit and/or barbeques and the pool is aprox. 3 blocks away at their motel. Hence, you're feeling more like you are at Wal-Mart - not camping. In addition, they CLAIM to have cable TV, but only have 4 channels of which 2 are weather and local attractions. You are far enough from the 40 freeway noise, but you are right on the train tracks, which may bother some during the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here in January and there were only a few other RVs. Not all the sites were cleared of snow; which did not matter as there were plenty of cleared ones. The signs for the park are small and easy to miss; especially the one that turns into the street for your arrival. It was a bit confusing where to go to register but once there it is very easy to navigate. As stated by other reviewers; this is essentially a large parking lot. The sites are not completely level and ours sloped back towards the entrance which was not a big deal. We drove the hour to the Grand Canyon easily and rarely saw a car on the drive to or from the National Park. The town of Williams has some interesting stores and the local information TV channel is very informative. Word of caution about the restaurants; go to Google and check out the reviews before you commit as some are not rated well. If I were in the area again I would gladly use this RV park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is one of the top three RV parks in the country to me. I love Williams and it is a good bet that it will snow when we are there in January/February yearly. Level sites, not muddy, very clean laundry, very close to everything in town. I actually pray to be snowed in here to get to stay longer! Will be back as long as our business takes us to the West Coast yearly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I wish we could have visited here when the weather was better, because the amenities were great! The price shown is reflective of the package deal, including tickets up to the Grand Canyon. We also did the Polar Express train, so I think that the total for three nights, three tickets on the train to the Grand Canyon and three tickets on the Polar Express was around $330. I thought that was very reasonable, figuring that I commonly pay $100-$150/night on a mid-range hotel in the Bay Area and the California Coast. The laundry facility was under construction at the time that we were there, but there were still a couple of machines available. We had to get around the snow built up around our site, and we actually had to switch sites because somebody chose not go home when they were supposed to, but the sites were fairly spacious and easy to pull in and out, even with the four-foot-high snow banks. Wi-Fi was good, and showers very clean and warm. Would stay again, but probably in the spring. By the way, you can have a fire if you bring your own self-contained firepit. They just don't want fires on the ground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If you like a big parking lot this is the place for you. You must use blocks under your levelers. The pool is across the street about 2 blocks away. The office is across the street. The staff is friendly. I would stay here again only to ride the train. The best thing going, the park it is downtown. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a must if you want to take the Grand Canyon train into the park. We stayed here as part of a RV/train ride package. The RV park is across the street from the train depot and the hotel. The hotel's amenities are available to those who stay in the RV park. Sites were very clean and mostly level. An additional plus is the on site kennel - we boarded our dog for the three days we were in town at a reasonable cost. There were one or two freight trains that came through each night - probably the only negative about the park. The park has free cable and Wi-Fi, a playground for my three boys, and basketball, horseshoes, and volleyball. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This rate was part of a package to take the train to the Grand Canyon. Sites were level, easy in and out. All services worked perfectly. We had to leave a day early because weather predictions were for 80 mph winds and 20 degrees in the direction we were heading. The person at the desk, not only encouraged us to get out of there ahead of the storm, but refunded our prepaid rent for the one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great park, we stayed and took the railroad to the Grand Canyon. All sites are pull through and have 50 amps. The hotel has great restaurants. All sites are concrete or blacktop and they request that you use pads under your jacks / levelors. They also have a very nice grilling area. We used our Camp Club USA halve price here and also received discounts for the railroad trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Price paid included 2 night stay and train ride to Grand Canyon. New, very clean park in town. Sites are cement with rocks separating them and require use of leveler blocks and sewer hose ladder. Very nice laundry room. Train comes through around 3:30 a.m. Trees are still young so can't provide shade yet. Pool is at hotel across road. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is just about as good as they come. It is true that there is no shade because the park is so new. However, we feel this is more than made up for. The sites are long, paved, and level. The cable tv and wi-fi were free. They have a roving security patrol and the on call shuttle will pick you up and take you anywhere on the grounds. The pool, hot tub and exercise room at the hotel are available to RV park guests. Their regular rate is high at $39, but we got the CampClub rate of $19.50. Without a doubt we will stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is fairly new, which is nice because all of the services work. The staff is very friendly, and the park is located conveniently next to the railway station and downtown Williams. We stayed here because we were taking the train up to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and we got a package deal with the train tickets (it only cost an additional $18 for 3 nights in the RV Park). I found the RV Park itself to be a bit antiseptic. There was no grass (they chose to use lava rocks instead), and no trees (and no shade). I probably would not stay here again if I weren't riding the railroad. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The only reason I didn't give this park a 10, is due to the fact they don't have shade yet. They have planted trees, but are too small to provide shade. Excellent location for doing day trips to Flagstaff, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Very clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Note - Rate includes 4 round trip train tickets and 3 nights at CG. It was a package deal. I've never stayed in a "resort" campground, but I'm going to assume this is what it would be like. If you're looking to "get away from it all" and do some trees and campfire camping, go elsewhere, this place isn't for you. If you like very modern facilities, nice level sites, free bbq grills, and nicer showers and bathrooms than most folks have at home, then this is the place. We enjoyed 3 nights here, and a trip to the grand canyon on the train. Both were excellent. The sites are paved asphalt and concrete. Cable, water, sewer and up to 50amp were there. All worked splendidly. The showers were clean and nice with individual dressing areas, and the bathrooms were nice and clean too. The laundry was well equipped as well. There are several (6) free gas grills to be had, and even a huge gas fire pit to meet some fellow campers. We used both and liked them. We also took advantage of the included use of the hotel pool and workout facility. both are nice and clean too. We also used the dog kennel attached for $14/dog/day. My daschund was happy and well cared for while we explored the canyon. This is a great campground, maybe a little overpriced, but considering what is included, I think it's worth it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Convenient for taking the train to the Grand Canyon. Level sites, full hookups. Central location for grilling, but people don't scrape the grills after use. No picnic tables at the sites, no grass. It is more like a parking area. If in the area again, we probably would stay elsewhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great, clean park. Excellent location. No shade but extra clean and good for a couple of nights. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The nightly rate is a package. $79 for 2 nights and the train ride up to the Canyon - check their web site for more information. Park is new (2006 I think) and wide open. Sites are clean. You have access to the pool at the hotel about a block away. Downtown Williams & Route 66 is easy walking distance from the campsites. Be sure to bring your jack pads; they are required. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent park for visiting the Grand Canyon and other areas in AZ. The train to the canyon is on the premises. Good Wi-Fi signals. Showers are better than some 4 star hotels. Can use the swimming pool in the hotel. Skip the on site buffet.. Easy walk to the town with several restaurants and stores and a nice bakery. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campgrounds is only a few years old and still looks and feels brand new. Sparkling restrooms and a helpful staff make this experience an excellent choice for camping. Campers get full resort privileges next door at the lodge/hotel. Nightly price is an approximate fee since we booked a package deal which included the round trip train ride to the Canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Staff was helpful & friendly. Office included store which was very clean. All roads & sites are paved. Sites are separated by volcanic rock & new trees. Sites are long enough for any size rig & any number of slides. Our site accommodated a 40' motorhome without unhooking tow vehicle. We did not find trains or horns bothersome. Park is new, clean & quiet. Laundry facility is very clean. There is a veranda with BBQ's. It is very big rig friendly. We would rate this park a "10" if it had its own pool. The park shares the pool & spa with the hotel, which causes overcrowding. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We purchased the train and RV parking package, and it was great, but they don't separate the cost of the park from the train ticket price so that's why the rate is so high. The park is well-lit, sites are big enough for any rig, and the restrooms and laundry were cleaner than any I've ever visited. There is absolutely no shade, but that didn't bother us since it wasn't too hot. Mornings were cool, but the train horn will definitely wake you up early! We used the pool and the workout facilities in the hotel. The pool was very crowded since both hotel and RV park personnel use it. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very clean RV Park. The sites are large pull throughs but there is not a speck of grass in the park. It is obviously a fairly new park and the trees will need some years to grow and provide shade. We enjoyed our stay but had two major complaints - RV guests were allowed to use the pool and hot tub at the hotel, but it was so full of children it was not usable by our group of retirees. Parents allowed young children to use the hot tub and capacity was 9 and there were 15 people in it! Yikes! The dogs need a grassy area for a dog run - lots of dogs don't like to do their business in rocky areas. In time they may work out these problems. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a level pull through at this big, clean park that is about an hour drive from the Grand Canyon. There’s not much by the way of aesthetics, but if you need a very long spot, this is the place for you. Very long mostly pull through sites, very wide also. We’d love more trees and some grass, but out of the question in the desert I guess. The train honks the horn at ungodly hours of the a.m.! The staff was excellent, very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were large and about the nicest and cleanest I’ve ever seen. They certainly have lots of amenities and we enjoyed their new, clean playground with our young daughter. We enjoyed this park a lot, but desert or not, a park needs greenery to get a 9 or 10 from us. Otherwise this park was wonderful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sterile. Very clean, but no personality. Train tracks were very close. WORD OF ADVICE- as you turn off of Franklin onto 7th, the office is on the corner to your left. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice, new, clean RV park. The trees are young so there is no shade. The roads and level parking pads are paved blacktop with red rock gravel and a small tree between sites. There is a couple of what they call Companion Sites where you can park door to door with friends. The price was reasonable and they offer Good Sam, AAA, weekly, and monthly discounts. This is part of the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel so you get all the privileges of the hotel. They have a shuttle that will take you anywhere on the property such as the Hotel or Grand Canyon Railway Train station however you are within walking distance of the train, hotel, and downtown. Being new the restrooms are very clean. The only down side is it is right next to the train tracks and a couple of freight trains come through in the middle of the night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The nightly rate of $14 was based on their 2-night RV Get-A-Way special ($79 per person). The special includes 2-nights of camping in their RV park, and a round trip coach class ticket on the train (plus taxes and $8.00 admission to the Grand Canyon National Park per person, although the admission fee is re-funded if you have one of the National Park system passes). This 'campground' is actually a parking lot, but it's a very nice looking parking lot. Most sites are pull-through. They do ask if you are going to put down jacks that you use jack pads underneath them. The sites are spaced fairly close together but no worse than in other parks. I did take a look at the laundry which was very clean. There are two restaurants (one menu, one buffet) on the grounds of the RV park/hotel and both are within an easy 5-minute walk. A free shuttle van will pick you up at your site and take you anywhere you want on the grounds. We ate at the buffet (Max & Thelma's) and although a bit pricey (remember, this IS a resort) it was very good. If you are going to be taking the train to the Grand Canyon I strongly suggest you pick up your tickets at the train depot (also on the grounds) the night before as there will be hundreds of people taking the train on the same day. About the only issue we had with the park was with their Wi-Fi. The service was up and down but we were told the tech was working on it. I would not want to spend more than a couple of nights in this park. While it is very clean and quiet (except for the occasional BNSF train that comes through), we prefer parks where we can sit outside at the picnic table or bar-b-que. But for a couple of nights you can't go wrong. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park has large, paved, level sites with an indoor pool available. It was very cold for April when we were there. It is close to the Grand Canyon Railway site. It appeared to be a, relatively, new park and was well maintained. Just a bit over-priced. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Concrete, level pads were the only asset. We checked in and managed to set up the rig when a train went by. After a lost night of sleep in Grants N.M., I went over to the office to ask if this was a main line. The tracks were right next to the campground. The lady was honest and told me they run all night long, probably the same trains that run through Grants, N.M. I asked for a refund and they did give it to us. We left for the KOA along the road that leads to the Canyon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Accepted PA. We stayed 6 nights. A "parking lot" but very nice gravel lots that are level. Small area of red rocks with a new tree between lots. Very clean. Had access to pool at hotel as well as hot tub. Laundry room excellent. Bathrooms and showers very modern. Would recommend for those visiting the Canyon. Nice playground for children. Grocery store 1/4 mile away. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the best way to see the south rim. Walk to the train and leave the driving to someone else. We added a bus rim tour to our itinerary, which was great. This new park is very clean, fairly level and (in 5-10 years) should have some shade. Check in staff were very helpful. The shuttle system makes the short walk to the hotel even shorter. Wi-Fi was strong and dependable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a three day package which included our train to the Grand Canyon and kennel fees for our dog. We really enjoyed this RV park. It is very clean and well maintained. The dog walk around the parking area has trash containers and bags for picking up after fido. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We stayed an extra day we were so comfortable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a beautiful and excellent campground. We were in Site #221 and did not have a problem leveling our truck/camper.The sites all have concrete pads. The restrooms and laundry were clean, but not enough for size of this campground. There was one lady who had every washer and dryer tied up for hours. Friendly and helpful staff with, Irma in the office, going above board for us. We had made our reservation at the wrong campground and she helped us get it corrected. We will definitely stay here, again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We camped here in a motorhome so we could do the train ride to the canyon. Sites are paved and tend to run "downhill" towards the road so the coach had to be jacked up a lot more in front than usual. You must use a sewer hose support and jack pads. Site pads are fairly narrow with really nowhere to put out chairs or a table if you were going to sit out as its very coarse gravel between sites. Folks in the office are very nice and helpful with directions and park is about an hours drive to the canyon and 2 minutes to Williams and Old Route 66. No where to really walk your dog except on a path that goes around the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We got a package deal for this RV park and the train ride to Grand Canyon, so I am not sure of the exact price per night, but it was a good deal. The park is fairly new, clean, paved, and level; however, it is basically a big parking lot. There is nothing scenic about it. The sites are wide enough, but still fairly close to your neighbor and there is no picnic table or patio. They did have W-IFI. The train ride was great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great park to ride the train and see the local sights for a few days. It is relatively new and very clean. Staff is helpful and a free shuttle is available. Wi-Fi works great. Make sure you have clear directions to the park from I-40. Very easy to miss the turn coming into town and recovery can be a hassle due to one way streets. Be sure to see the local Route 66 sights. Pine Country Cafe and Route 66 Cafe have good food and are fun. Relive a bygone era. Fuel is expensive so plan ahead. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here just after a huge snow storm, but all the roads and sites were cleared, so we actually enjoyed seeing all the snow. There were only about a dozen other RV’s there so we practically had the park all to ourselves. I’m not sure about the nightly rate because we got a great package deal which included the train ride to the Grand Canyon. The staff was friendly, and the facilities were very clean. The Wi-Fi was free and strong and there were lots of TV channels. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean, well-kept and organized RV park. Staff was great. Convenient location to Grand Canyon train depot. Surrounding snow-capped mountains and stars at night were beautiful. Only negative was the loud train(s) in early morning hours (3:30 AM or so). We would definitely consider staying here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wonderful, big park with good hook-ups. Basic, with paved pads and rock in between sites. Very clean. A great place to stay if you want to do the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. Train station is adjacent to the park. Pet hotel for keeping pets while visitors are touring. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Every once in a while something bad turns into something good. That was the case in my experience with this park. I had originally stopped at the Williams/Circle Pines KOA, but asked for a refund after their WiFi wasn't working well. Traveling just a bit further down the road, I happened upon this gem and was very glad that I changed. This park suited my needs perfectly. Big, open sites; good hookups; great scenery; friendly staff; interesting little town, etc. Plus, the rate was $13 cheaper than the KOA. As a bonus, it's only a 50 mile shot straight up an open, freshly paved highway right into Grand Canyon National Park. I have rarely (if ever) given a rating as high as a 9, but this park delivers in spades and receives my strong recommendation. Stay there. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice RV park. It has cable and WiFi. Spaces are sufficient in size. My only complaint is $5 a night for people over 2 and $5 a night for an extra small car. We have fifth wheel and truck. We were charged for our extra car. The wind is terrible here. Rock and roll all night. And the train comes through during the night and blasts the horn. But having said all that if you want to visit the Grand Canyon or take the train this is the best location to stay in. Office personnel are extremely pleasant and nice. You get a key for the restrooms and laundry. Restaurants in town are not much. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large park next to train station if you want to ride the train to the grand canyon. Wifi was not very good, but they claim to be upgrading in August 2007. Laundry facility has 5 w/d pairs, which can get full at times. Staff extremely friendly and helpful at check in. New park, opened Feb 2006. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We bought a package deal including rail trip to Grand Canyon and 3 nights camping. Park is fully paved with wide level sites. Volcanic rock fills spaces between sites. Hookups were new and very well done. There are a few small trees but essentially no shade. There were no picnic tables, fire rings or another other amenities at our individual site. There is a restroom, shower, laundry facility centrally located which also has a large community fire pit, 4 barbecues, and picnic tables. Bathrooms were the finest I've ever seen at an RV park. Stone tile all around, tall shower heads, plenty of room, complimentary shampoo and soap, and perfectly clean. You may use the indoor pool at the hotel, but the pool is across the street and about a 500 yard walk from the center of the RV campground. The RV store is also across the street and about 300 yards from the center of the campground. For late check-ins, they just tape up a list and a map inside the window. It would have been nice if they left a few extra maps outside for late arrivals. The town of Williams is within walking/biking distance and was full of nice shops, restaurants, and wild west shows. The Grand Canyon Railroad is a great way to travel to the Grand Canyon and avoid driving the RV up the mountain. The staff are great but be prepared with plenty of tip money for car attendants on the way up and down plus music performers and the train robbers. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great park and very friendly staff. It has everything a family would want. The restaurants at the resort are clean, serve good food and at reasonable prices. The pool is somewhat small for the size of the resort but it is indoors which is a plus for the colder months. The sites are paved, nice size and level. Trees are very young and do not offer much shade yet. The Grand Canyon Railway Train right at the resort is a huge benefit. The train ride to the south rim of the park is a fun experience and should not be missed if you stay at this resort. I would stay here again with no hesitation! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park when riding the train to the Grand Canyon. The only problem is if you check in late you can't get the access card to get into the restrooms and laundry area. This park also requires that your sewer hose must be on a ramp and not sitting on the ground. They said this is an Arizona law. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a wonderful place to stay. The indoor pool was terrific and had a hot tub. The sites were paved, full hook-up's and very level. The laundry, restrooms and showers were immaculate. The staff was excellent, the adjacent hotel and grounds were very well kept. We took the train up to Grand Canyon and had a wonderful trip. The ride was comfortable and we had a very personable steward in our car. We highly recommend the RV park and the train trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly and helpful staff, however no picnic tables or fire rings. New campground and therefore very dusty and no trees for shade, but would stay there again. Very close to town, shopping and restaurants. Train noise not too bad, but really no place to sit out and enjoy the sites unless you are in the outer row in the back of the campground. Site 12-13-14-15 would be my choice the next time around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Wow, this place sets the standard for RV resort camping. The bathrooms are large and modern. The laundry room has 4 or 5 new washer/dryers. The sites are large and the park is well-kept. Their trees are still little, but it's the Southwest. The on-site restaurant, Max & Thelma's, has a wonderful buffet. We took the train up to Grand Canyon and it was a lot of fun. The RV park staff was very helpful to us, especially when my husband got sick; they helped us find a doctor, a pharmacy, a grocery and a cleaners willing to do all the laundry for me. The one downer would be the close proximity of the train. Our site literally backs up to the tracks(separated by a tall chainlink fence) so we hear the trains several times a day and once or twice at night. The first night it scared the kids, but since then they've been fine. I thought our neighbor's car alarm going off at 5am was much more bothersome. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Beautiful park with nice people. The only thing lacking was much of a pet walk area which is why I gave a 9 instead of a 10. Clean and neat. Once the landscaping grows up a little, it will be beautiful. The train was a wonderful way to travel to the canyon, but there isn't much in the way of scenery on the way. We had a lot of fun interacting with the "train robbers" on the way back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We reserved this park in conjunction with the train ride to the Canyon. I reserved a pull-through spot, but when we got here, there were none available, so I had to back a 40 foot 5th wheel in - still not much of a problem with the large drives and sites. The campground is basically a parking lot, but has a central commons area with laundry, restrooms, gas grills, and picnic tables. The office has a small store and is about 100 yards away. RV campers get access to the hotel amenities, including a nice indoor pool/spa area. The hotel is walking distance, and their buffet is excellent. Train noise will wake you early, but I suspect all of Williams is affected by this. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An outstanding park! We only stayed for the night as we were traveling through. We would love to return soon to take the train ride and see the canyon again. A new park, everything was new, worked great, and looked terrific. I recommend you check out their web site to see the train trip details. If you have kids, they will love this place (pool, playground, basketball and volleyball courts, etc. As a final note, you'll have to look far and wide to find cleaner, more appealing bathrooms. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Do not mistake this park with the Canyon Gateway RV Park as there is a huge difference. We were really disappointed when we arrived at Canyon Gateway as it was really dusty, the staff was grumpy and the sites weren't very nice (unless you want a view of the freeway). We were delighted when they informed us that we were at the wrong park! We were amazed at the difference once we arrived at Grand Canyon Railway. The staff was very helpful and the park was clean with well spaced sites. The bathhouse appeared new and was always spotless. It was a pretty long hike to the pool from our site. It is a small indoor pool designed for the hotel guests. Great location, friendly staff, group campfires, and clean facilities. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a new park, opened early 2007. The roads and pads are paved with rock in between sites. There is a playground for kids. There is also a pet "hotel" to leave the fur kids while riding the train. I went in and it was very clean, but did not use it since this was an overnight stay. Will probably leave the critter when we come back in October for a rally and train ride. This is a really nice park for an overnight stop or rally. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here because two nights came free with the Train Ticket to the Grand Canyon. We stayed additional nights and got discounts off those nights as well. We'd return because the Park is new, clean, and relatively easy to get in and out of. Confirm your directions because the routing requires a tight right turn into the street that passes the Hotel, then comes to the Store/Registration Office at the end of the block in back. The left-hand entrance into a spacious parking area for new arrivals is fine. Staff was very nice, however, if you've unhooked your tow, it doesn't hurt to take a quick drive across the street to your assigned site. The person who highlighted the route on our site map had us making a tight zig-zag turn that brought us unnecessarily close to protruding garbage dumpsters on a corner we had to negotiate. We assumed she had never personally driven that particular route in a similar rig so couldn't have appreciated how challenging it was and didn't have to be. When we asked a different staff person why we weren't shown a more direct way, he agreed with us he would have suggested the very route we later saw was ideal. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an outstanding, new, park. It is part of a sight-seeing rail tour to Grand Canyon. The complex offers the train trip, excellent campground headquarters, kennel, restaurant, extra nice bath/shower/laundry facilities. The bathroom/laundry is entered with a motel-style key card. A courtesy phone inside links campers with the office, the free shuttle service, or emergency help. A lovely community fire pit, picnic shelter, and playground are family-friendly. Everything is clean and classy. Pads and access roads are paved. Decorative landscaping, trees, and rock are attractive. Some people might be bothered by a nearby freight train passing through town in then early morning hours. Lots are 30 feet wide. The campground is 55 miles from Grand Canyon National Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a big parking lot where they put RV's. This is OK, and they do a pretty good job. The showers are clean and laid out nice. It is a pretty good trek to the train, pool, restaurant, and even the office. They provide a shuttle service. Camping in a parking lot with loud train whistles throughout the night is not really my cup of tea. I don't know if I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent park for staying while taking the train. Brand new, spotless and spacious facilities, excellent management, nice town. Great to stay while you take the train or drive to the Canyon. Very kid/animal friendly. No shade, but nice views in all directions. Trains not bothersome - only 1-3 a night, but hours in between. This is not the line that goes through Flagstaff with 125 trains/day. Try Pancho McGuillicudy's on Main Street for very good Mexican food and atmosphere. The train was great. Avoid the $28/pp "Grand Rim Tour" - buses are old, dirty and sully the experience with diesel fumes. The train depot is right across from the free NPS shuttles on the park roads and you can easily find something to eat and avoid the "hot buffet" cafeteria that comes with the tour. Supermarket within walking distance, as is Main Street of Williams. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We got a package deal in which two adult train tickets get two nights free at the RV park, we stayed a total of five days so I'm not sure what the nightly rate works out to be. This is a brand new park so the trees aren't grown in yet. A freight train rolls by four times a night. Over all its a very nice park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Excellent RV park located next to the Grand Canyon Railway depot, hotel, and restaurant. Total package included 2 nights, Grand Canyon park admission, and round trip on train which was $167 for two persons. These are the best restrooms and showers we have encountered, absolutely beautiful. RV's are parked on pavement with nice size spaces. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is fairly new so not much shade yet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A well run operation. They have gas grills you can use while you enjoy the gas lit fire pit. I did not give it a ten only because trains come though at 01:00 am and 4:00 am and blow their horn at the crossing that is nearby. I would definitely come back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the first 10 we have given for any park. Not sure why others had issues, but this is a first class operation. Excellent large, level lots and very friendly office staff. True, there is no grass, but it's the desert. We got the train package and included the train ride and 2 nights with boarding for our dogs for $160. Spa and pool are available the hotel and are first class. They have excellent boarding facilities for pets, which we used when we went to the Grand Canyon for the day. Of all the places we have stayed and reviewed (over 70+), this is the nicest park we have encountered. We would certainly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
New park that is basically a paved parking lot. Sites are big and convenient. Park is within walking distance of town. Lots of thing available at the complex and in town as well. Great location and nice clean, new park. But check is very inconvenient and hard to find. Signage is almost non existent. Once you check in you are on your own there is no on site management or security that we were able to see. Thus, none of the park rules were enforced while we were at the park. Dogs on the loose, loud unruly campers a real nightmare. They have excellent potential with this park but really need some management!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Excellent place, clean, friendly people large sites. Great pet kennels for dogs and cats. We would definitely stay here again. You must love trains in this town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Price of the park was included in the Railroad tickets. Brand new park, very clean, top notch!! Would highly recommend this park and will definitely stay here again if visiting the Grand Canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Excellent place, clean, friendly people large sites. This is a fairly new campground so the trees have yet to take hold but everything was top notch. You can ride the train, great play area for your children and nice pool and hot tub at the hotel. Nicest showers I have ever seen in a campground Great base for the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and the various National Monuments around the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I'm not sure of the price since we purchased a package with the train. This is a fantastic new, clean, fully paved, modern RV Park. The staff is friendly, the bathrooms immaculate. The area was patrolled constantly by a friendly gent that always showed concern on whether or not we were OK. The area of Williams however does lack if you're looking for alternatives for dining, movies, etc. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here 4 days. Took the train to the Grand Caynon. Had a super great time. Park is very neat & clean. Should be nice when the one gallon size trees grow. Free wi-fi was nice, worked great. Hotel pool was nice, but they should have adult use hours, way to many kid's. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice new park, in a few years when their trees grow, it will be much nicer. The pool and hot tub was in their adjoining hotel, but well worth the walk or drive to it. It was indoors and very nice for our daughter when it rained! They had a decent little game room upstairs from the pool. Their playground was near the park office, and it was excellent. The laundry and bathrooms and showers were all very clean. All the amenities made up for being in a "parking lot", especially if you have children. Also free wifi worked excellent. We didn't take the train to Grand Canyon (we wanted more time there) but we were able to see the free western show, and we ate at the restaurant, all within walking distance from the campground. Very pleasant stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed at the new Grand Canyon Railway RV Park and had a great time. We took the train to the canyon, which was wonderful! Didn't have to try and get our RV through the canyon and find parking. The RV park was still being finished (under construction), but that wasn't a problem. Everything was brand new. I couldn't believe how nice their showers are. It's pretty easy to get to. Right off I-40. Lots of things to do as the train depot is close by. They also have a restaurant and you can walk to downtown Williams and historic Route 66. Great time! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was 4 weeks new when we stayed in April, 2006. It is still in the process of being completed. You can use the associated hotel pool and facilities. Free shuttle to hotel and train station otherwise, about a three block walk . Wide and paved big rig friendly spaces with first rate hook ups. Bathrooms and laundry facilities very clean. The park staff is also new and not that experienced. No security to speak of. No specific dog area to walk fido. The place is a bare parking lot with 5 gallon "trees" and lava rock between spaces. Nothing for children in park. This eventually will be a first rate park. It is a half baked cake at this point. In a year or so this will likely rate higher. We camped here in a Motorhome.
There are several RV Parks in Williams and all of them have gravel sites atop red mud and clay. When it rains, the red mud seeps up through the rock level and, in many areas of most campgrounds, the red clay is not well covered with rock. Much mud, dust, etc. This park is a new one and is the only one in Williams that is paved. It is big rig friendly, has long and wide sites, and many amenities. First class. Nothing better in Williams or Flagstaff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Best dry camping available. $9 rate reflects senior 50% discount. This campground has had a $1.5 million upgrade thanks to the government stimulus money. I think it was money well spent. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of our favorite campgrounds for Dry Camping. Sites fill up after Tuesday in the summer. Short walk to a small quiet lake. Normal restroom smell in the chemical toilet. Spaces are nicely spread out. Senior discount made it $9/night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Dry camping at its best! Big sites with lots of room between spaces. Lots of pull throughs: mostly shady with a few in the open. Sites have tables and campfire rings, and easy access. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you are looking for amenities, then one of the other campgrounds in Williams would be better for you. However, if you are looking for a peaceful environment with lots of space between you and your neighbors then this is the place. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful even as far as bringing firewood up to the site for us. We travel in a 45 footer and although the Forest Service web-site lists a 35 foot length limit, there were several sites that would accommodate us. No facilities, so load up the water tank, run the generator as necessary and enjoy. We arrived on a Thursday, managed to get a site, first come first served, and stayed over a very busy weekend when the campground was full. However because of the layout and our site location, we did not realize how busy it was. If this sounds appealing, give it a shot. If you cannot get in here are several other campgrounds in Williams that will probably have spaces available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pleasant campground only a mile or so north of I-40, on the way to Grand Canyon. The lake is very nice and fishing is allowed. Sites are fairly well spaced and largely shaded. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park. It is convenient to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Offering reservations for the Grand Canyon Railway, which passes right by the park. They provide breakfast for campers every day and there is always fresh coffee available in the office. Spacious sites with conveniently located hookups. When the trees get a little bigger it will be nicely shaded, which is needed. Very quiet at night, yet within walking distance of Williams and Route 66. Friendly, helpful hosts. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We really enjoyed our stay at this park. The 50-amp electric was good, the Wi-Fi was strong most of the time, and the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. For rail buffs, this is an excellent place to stop. We could see lots of freight traffic, as well as watching the Grand Canyon Railroad train come and go each day and use the wye several times a day. We even saw them tuning up the steam engine. The park provides and shuttle to and from the train. We would definitely stay here again. Daily rate reflects 10% AAA discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Enjoyed our stay here very much. Front seat view to the Grand Canyon Railway and other trains, nice views of the hills, and conveniently located to town. Good level, gravel sites with full hook-ups. One of the best things about the park are the managers. They are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay great. They offer free pet sitting (just gratuity-based) so that you can go on day-long tours of Grand Canyon, etc. They even make reservations for you for the Grand Canyon railroad, and provide shuttle service to the rail station. Free breakfast was great. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Fun Park. We stayed for 1 week and had alot of fun. We took the train ride to the canyon. Every morning we got to watch the train go pass the park and the management encouraged the guest join them in sending the train off. The campground was very well kept and the restrooms we always clean. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub each day. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great park, the Owners/Host go out of the way to be helpful. They made reservations for the Train to the Grand Canyon and even took our dog for several walks while we were gone. Williams is on the Santa Fe Main Line running from Winslow Arizona and Needles California, roughly the same route as I-40. There are trains in Williams. Train noise along railroad tracks are normal, just as truck noise along side of highways. There are trains in Williams and I did not find the noise offensive, in fact I found it enjoyable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All the other reviews adequately describe the facilities. None describe the noise from trains blowing their horns a couple hundred feet away at various times during the night. I would suggest any other place if an good night's sleep is important. We camped here in a Motorhome.
$32/night w/GS discount. The campground is flat with a few small trees. The sites are gravel and level, but no picnic tables or fire rings. The sites are not wide enough to put down your awning (because of trees or bushes), but large enough for slides maybe 20 X 60. There is a surprising amount of noise from I-40 and the freight trains that run at night. Last night a dog barked all night long from 11 PM to 7 AM. The showers are large, a little old, but clean. The laundry is small with 4 washers on one side and 5' on the other side the dryers: a small folding area with iron and board. It's close to downtown Williams a Route 66 town and nice to walk through; the Grand Canyon Train and next to a small rodeo. I think we would look for another campground for our next stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground with gravel sites. I stayed in early June as a base camp for the Grand Canyon. Was an hour drive to the Grand Canyon, but the office sells tickets for the Grand Canyon Railway. The staff was very friendly. All facilities worked well and restrooms were always clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
These folks are terrific and go out of their way to make you feel at home here. Very helpful for providing information on where to go, things to do, and directions for both. They can also book your trip to the GC if you like. The continental breakfast is a nice touch. We were here (by chance) while the Cowpuncher's Reunion Rodeo came to town and it was an added benefit right next door. We stayed 4 days and will definitely return and spend more time here in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here because we were going to ride the Grand Canyon Railway. This is a very nice park, the staff is very friendly and went out of their way to be sure we were taken care of (gave us recommendations for a restaurant, asked if we were eligible for discounts such as AAA/AARP, and chatted with us on the way out). The sites are a good size and are gravel covered. There is a complimentary 'continental breakfast' in the morning (waffles, cereal, hard boiled eggs, coffee, and juice). The rate for 2 nights (including tax) was $71.84. Park is close to town, next to the tracks (we never heard a train at night), and far enough from I-40 that you don't hear the traffic. We will stay here again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great park, convenient to I-40, near enough to town, and on the highway to the Grand Canyon. The lady at the front desk was possibly the friendliest person we have encountered and without a doubt the most knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon. She gave us tips on things to do that we would have easily missed being first timers to the canyon. All the staff we encountered were just outstanding. The sites are level, long, with good power. Heck, they even have a free continental breakfast. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here during January. It was -8 overnight. Very desolate during the winter months. Lots of gravel and gravel sites. Very little shelter and open to the elements. Staff very friendly and helpful. No access to restaurants. Small shop on site with a few essentials. About 1 hrs. drive to the Grand Canyon from the RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great little campground that is family run. You can see their pride in the campground. Easy access in and out. The camp store was small with little to offer; however, Williams is a stone's throw and you will have no trouble finding what you need. Don't let the name fool you; although the Grand Canyon Railroad runs beside the campground there were no train noises after 6 PM. Far enough off the highway so that the truck noise is not an issue. They provide breakfast in the office daily from 8:00 - 10:00 AM. BONUS! The staff is friendly and helpful. We will return here any time we are near Williams, AZ! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a bit rough, mainly because our spot had no picnic table (many didn't) and the gravel was pretty big rocks which was not comfortable for sitting out in with chairs, but office staff is very friendly and helpful. All gravel spots. It appeared that all spots were the same as ours except some had tables. We stayed for one week for Grand Canyon and route 66 tours. Would probably stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Had a very good experience at this park. Was the host to our rally and the staff was extremely attentive. They catered most of our meals which were very tasty, and made us feel right at home. Would definitely return and would recommend it to other RV'ers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Gravel sites, no concrete patios. Wide sites, street lights, fire hydrants appropriately placed throughout park. Even though they do not have large shade trees, there are trees throughout the park. Staff very friendly and wonderfully helpful. Made arrangements to go to Grand Canyon on the train through the park and they shuttled us to the depot and picked us up. Each time the train goes by the park, they are out there ringing a bell and waving. They have a breakfast every morning and this summer are opening a grill at the site. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone visiting the Grand Canyon area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent showers. Continental breakfast a plus. Owners are very friendly and helpful in planning activities/tours. We would definitely stay here again! It snowed lots (a foot or more) during our stay. They had a wide selection of DVDs to choose from without a rental fee. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice campground and the owners are very nice and make you feel welcome. They have a nice continental breakfast with delicious waffles. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here on our way to the Balloon Fest in Albuquerque. Really enjoyed the stay. The folks that run the camp go out of their way to make you feel at home. They are a lot of fun and what can I say about the free breakfast. From waffles, fruit, juices, cookies, to biscuits and gravy. I thought the sites were a good size with plenty of room for my 30ft 5er. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is kind of a dumpy park, although the spaces are good sized and level with good utilities. However, the WiFi wasn't working when we arrived, but it was repaired within a few hours with good access to the internet. The park is located right next to the railroad facilities, but is less noisy than other RV parks (in different cities) located next to RR tracks since there was minimal train traffic. All in all, this is a better option, in our opinion, than any park we've stayed in Flagstaff (which is only 40 minutes away). When we stay in the area again, we will probably try a nicer RV park (and no doubt pay a little more), but we would stay here if there were no other reasonable options. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Recently finished a (6) day RV Rally there. The owners are first rate and have a hands on approach. The Wi-Fi was sporadic or I would have given the park a 10. Will definitely stay there again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate is $30 + tax for cash or check. This reflects a 15% discount. Very nice at reception. There was a lot of information regarding the Grand Canyon and area. All the sites appear to be pull throughs. Sites are gravel and level. They have four washers/dryers. Dryers give you 45 minutes for $.50! What a bargain. Would definitely stay here again. We were here over the 4th, and they had a very nice BBQ, free unless you wanted to give a donation. They also offered free breakfasts! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was OK. Basically a parking lot with hook-ups. We spent most of our time at the canyon and not in the motorhome. Kids had fun watching the Grand Canyon train go by as it was towed in and out each day. It was OK for the two nights we were there, but I wouldn't want to stay there much longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was adequate for us for 5 nights. If you are looking for landscaping or paved sites, then this is not for you. Nice easy turns and good services. Some rough-looking seasonals. Close to the rodeo grounds and the RR crossing for the train to the Grand Canyon. Gravel roads and sites. Trees looked like they were bombed. Not a nice residential area but we never had any trouble. Visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Williams while here. I would probably stay here again if I couldn't find anything more attractive. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Outstanding RV park. The owners and regular tenants are super friendly. The owners helped us arrange a driving tour one day and a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon another day. They have cookouts during the weekends and a Sunday breakfast, very good and only cost is donations. We have found a home when we are in the Williams area!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Given some of the previous reviews, I must say I was a bit disappointed with this park. It is however probably one of the better ones in the Grand Canyon area that we saw. It is basically a gravel parking lot with hookups. The sites were close together and only a few had picnic tables. We wanted to grill but that is not allowed. They did have a BBQ on Saturday night and live music other nights and also a continental breakfast. Fortunately the train only went by a few times a day as it is very very loud. Once though, it did go by at about midnight. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice basic campground with gravel sites. Has very friendly and helpful staff. Wifi was good. Historic Williams is just a few blocks away. Cute town. Located an hour from Grand Canyon entrance. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed a week and hiked around the Grand Canyon. Everyone was very nice and we slept very well at night. We had one neighbor that had his dog off leash but the owner quickly handled that problem. There will always be someone who wants to break the rules, and always someone who will help them learn why there are rules. Anyway, we will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here just as an overnight and were really happy. The staff was friendly and very helpful. There are some permanent residents but they were friendly and everything was well maintained. The views were amazing! We did not hear the train. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed at this great place in March. Really helpful folks pointed out all the great places to eat and things to do. Gave us discount ticket coupons for I-MAX as well. Located very close to lots of tours and it's the place to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon and for riding the Grand Canyon Railroad. We will be back, with our grand kids this summer. It is quiet, has great water for coffee, 50 amp service and cable TV. All are pull through sites. Thumbs up! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed 2 nights and used the middle day to tour the Grand Canyon. Wi-Fi, cable TV, sewer, water and electricity all worked well. I liked how the hook ups and lengths of pull-through sites made it easy to set-up. Sites were level: ground was wet during the day (Jan) from snow melt, but there was enough gravel on top of compacted dirt that I never had an issue. It feels soft but that is just the 2’’ of gravel giving way. The owner was friendly and answered all our questions. The campground is located on a Route 66 small town, so it is nestled in next to schools, apartments and housing areas. Not an issue for us. The owners warned me to turn off the water at night: based on my cold weather camping experience I ignored the warning and wrapped my second heat tape around the park's water pipe. For some reason the heat tape stopped working at night. The next day I tried to turn off the water and broke the handle. I offered to pay for the damages but the owner wouldn’t accept my money and said that my continued business and future stays are worth more than a $60 pipe they have in stock. We will definitely stay here again based on amenities, location, prices and customer satisfaction-oriented owners. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Overall not a bad place for a stopover. A few permanents throughout the park and as the previous poster stated it sits across the street from an apartment house and the park isn't fenced, but it appears security isn't an issue. Very level sites and the cable and the Wi-Fi worked great, also pet friendly. It didn't bother me but my wife wasn't real keen on the surroundings. Not sure if we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We’ve had the pleasure of staying at Railside RV Ranch three times now. We wanted a safe, convenient location in Williams away from the hustle and bustle of Flagstaff for our 38-foot motorhome while we explored the local attractions. We wanted comforts of home like free Wi-Fi at our site, great satellite TV and cell phone reception, strong water pressure, stable 50 amp electricity, and full hook-ups on this trip although park offers partial hook-up sites. The restrooms, showers, and laundry are immaculate (cleaned and stocked twice daily) and safe. Rates are comparable to other area RV parks, but it’s the aesthetics that sets it apart from the rest. Open all-year-round, the park’s shade trees encourage relaxation and rejuvenation. The great layout and spacious sites makes it easy to navigate a big rig around the Park. Unlike other parks graveled roads and gravel sites minimize dust. Some sites also have a concrete pad and picnic table. A favorite destination we’ll return to again and again! Conveniently situated on Route 66 between Chino Valley to the west, Flagstaff to the east, Grand Canyon to the north, and Camp Verde to the south. The park is 5 minutes from the Grand Canyon Railway Station, Dairy Queen, Safeway, restaurants, and banking and 20 minutes from Camping World at Belmont on I-40. Nearby attractions include the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Bill Williams Mtn, Route 66, Flagstaff (all that a city has to offer!) and many Indian ruins. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nicely laid out park. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The Grand Canyon Railroad train that went by twice a day was an attraction. Pretty cool to see an old, working train full of people. This park has no perimeter fencing, the side we were on was separated from an apartment complex by only a sidewalk and a street. Not really an issue, but different. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park in Williams AZ close to the RR station that has excursions into the Grand Canyon. Near I-40 but not too much noise. Not too many rigs here now as Fall is upon us. Sites are gravel with grassy area between. Grass is mostly brown: must be a water shortage. Check-in person was very friendly. Wi-Fi signal not very strong. ATT cell phone service is great. Would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our stay here was at the end of a 4-month trip around the country. We've stayed here many times and are never disappointed. The staff treat you like family, the park is always clean, restrooms, showers and laundry are spotless and the cable TV and Wi-Fi worked great. It was interesting to note that while many parks in the area had few clients, this park was full. We recommend this park to everyone. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The people working at this park are very friendly and helpful. They treat you almost like family. The friendly attitude alone rates a good rating. This place is close to downtown Williams, Grand Canyon Railroad, and about an hour drive from the South rim of the Grand Canyon. The restrooms, showers, and RV sites are kept very clean. Most sites are pull-through and easy to get into and out of. However, this is a gravel parking lot with few trees and a patch of grass around the utility stubs. All night you can hear the traffic from Interstate 40 and expect to hear the Train whistle blowing when it returns from the Canyon late at night. Our particular site was not level and the cable worked poorly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The rate is based on a week's stay. I agree with the other posts in that these folks at this campground are the friendliest and most helpful we have have ever met. One lady even went out of her way to tend to our dog when we took the train. They made trip arrangements for us, dinner recommendations and we will definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
NOTE: Rate reflected is extra days at the end of a 4 day rally here. LOVE this park. The staff goes way above and beyond to help you in any way they can. Clean, neat and even walking distance to town (if you like to walk). Guess the only downside is the trains, but they never bother me, and it's part of the allure of the area. Would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The friendliest, most helpful owners and staff that we have come in contact with in all of our travels. The campground is kept up very well. The sites are large and level. Would definitely go out of our way to stay here again. We felt like family. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice site. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They purchased our train tickets to the Grand Canyon, helped us get discounts and offered a complimentary shuttle to the train station. When we returned in the evening, they even offered to return later with the shuttle so my family could stay and have dinner and saved us from having to return to the campsite and take the RV to dinner. The restrooms and showers were clean and comfortable. They loaned us a television cable, which, as fist time RV users, we hadn't thought about. The complimentary breakfast included a nice variety of foods. I would definitely recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Host are very friendly. They provided great assistance with planning our trip to the Grand Canyon. They will offer a discount for most any type of membership (AARP, AAA, Military, they have a list). Park is gravel but firm so parking an leveling is not a problem. Sites are level and large. They offer a continental breakfast. I think in the summer season this would be a great place to visit. We spent two nights. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice park to visit in spring, summer & fall, but winter is cold, sub-freezing night time tempratures bearable if one is prepared, but over all it is nice clean park with close proximity too town and services. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Fine park. Near train, but no noise at night. Great place to watch the old coal trains go/come from Grand Canyon. We camped in November: leaves from trees were gone and grass was dormant. In spring/summer, must be nice. No freeway noise. Very quiet area. Office staff helpful and polite. I would give higher marks, but this appeared to be a short stop, rather than a long stay. No fire rings and just a few tables. Most spots are pull through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Scrubby looking park with gravel sites. Noisy railroad behind. Adequate park at reasonable price to visit Grand Canyon 50 miles away. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We loved this RV Park the most of all seven different ones we stayed at on our trip from Ohio to Nevada. We called the night before the Friday of Labor Day weekend and the owner's told us they were full, but would put us in the overflow area for only $20. The site was excellent and we loved hearing the Grand Canyon Railroad whistle as the train pulled in. The owner actually ran an electric line and a cable line (but we had our own Dish Network) and we felt so welcome our entire stay of two nights. They had a Chuckwagon BBQ with a cowboy singer and a Rodeo movie that was just the most fun. We liked the friendliness of not only those that worked here, but the other campers who had been here before. There was a Rodeo and Labor Day Parade, and it was truly a wonderful experience on our first visit to the Grand Canyon. The owner and his wife helped us plan our itinerary and included discount tickets to not only the Rodeo but other attractions. We even went to a ranch and saw White Buffalo. Hopefully, when I retire in 6 years we will return and spend more time. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Outstanding park! The park has many pull through sites; they are gravel and level, no tables or fire rings at sites. Bathrooms are cleaner than my home, heated with bath mats in the toilets and showers, piped in music also. Continental Breakfast included in rate; there is a central area with tables and bar-b-ques. Very friendly staff. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Wonderful campground. Very friendly staff. Extra clean bathrooms and amenities. Our niece could not get enough of the massage shower heads and plush shower mats. We had a free shuttle to the Grand Canyon Railway and great access to a fun part of Rt. 66. The only negative was that the whole campground was stoned and somewhat dusty. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is real great place to stay! The Owners were real super people and could not do enough to help us we highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gravel and rock sites with some trees providing decent shade. Mostly pull through sites, but the staff was helpful in getting us one of the back-in sites so that we could set up our portable fire ring and have one of the few picnic tables in the park. As the name implies, the park is bordered by train tracks on one side, but these are used by the local scenic railroads, which stop running shortly after dark. There seemed to be a lot of long term residents here with most of their sites well kept. Rest rooms and laundry facilities were clean when I checked for this review. Can't comment on the continental breakfast since we slept in every morning. After driving by a few other places in the area, this is probably the best deal you can find considering you actually get some shade and cable TV at no extra charge. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I've got to say, this is one wonderful place to stay. The owners of this park are some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. Everything is clean, the breakfast is a great affair and a nice meeting spot. While we were here they had a group come in and arranged a star gazing party with one of the people who works at the Lowell Observatory. Very Cool! The sites are very plain, but all are level and everything works. The Wifi signal is great throughout the park. What makes this place a winner is the people, who will go out of their way to make sure you get taken care of while you are here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owner here was absolutely terrific and accommodative of our late check-in needs, as well as minor local transportation. Model for other campgrounds. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here to go to Grand Canyon about one hour away. The place was nothing to shout about, not real fancy, but the WIFI worked, the cable worked and it had full hook-up. The sites are gravel and there are no patios. The owners are very nice and extremely helpful in helping you make site-seeing arrangements. They offer free breakfast, but again, it is nothing to shout about. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I always partially base my rating on the price we paid -- the overall value. This place was an excellent value! We had free WiFi, cable, and even a continental breakfast. They even walker dog for us when we were gone on a raft trip all day. The people are fantastic. The CG isn't fancy, an is basically a gravel parking lot, but a very welcoming place and a GREAT value. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The most outstanding thing about this park is the people that own and operate it. They will bend over backwards to insure that you are satisfied with your camping experience in Williams. The "Continental Breakfast" (free) is beyond belief. The sites, although gravel, are level, no matter where you want to park in it. Unless you like parking in a parking lot, you can't find a better place anywhere. It's proximity to Williams allows you to walk to town easily. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Railside RV Ranch has outstanding people in the office. They quickly determined our interests and provided tour information in such an interesting way, that we are going to see other local attractions besides the obvious Grand Canyon. The park is perfectly situated; close to restaurants, other town services and the Grand Canyon access road. "Breakfast included" while RVing is a first for us. But the biggest plus for us was the "team" pitching in to fix my computers WiFi access problem that had kept me off of WiFi for months. When their own expertise in getting me connected was exceeded, they called their son, a computer whiz, who talked Mom through a diagnostic process that discovered a bad file and they fixed it. Unbelievable!! They wouldn't accept an offer to pay for the computer repair service. Now that I'm online, I note the free Wi-Fi has excellent signal strength because of multiple transmitters spaced through the park. From reading the other overwhelmingly positive reports on this site, it's very clear the people here really go an extra step to discover whatever each customer needs most and goes ahead and provides it way above and beyond the norm. We'll never stay anywhere else when returning to this area. Thank you, Railside RV Park!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have been lucky to R.V. through Europe for a year & now traveling through the states for 1&1/2 year. We are into our 7th month of our travels in the U.S. I am happy to say we rate Railside R.V.Ranch as one of the best campground we have visited throughout our travels in Europe & the states. The owners & the employees have gone above & beyond what we expect for their services. A very nice lady booked everything for our train trip, lodging & dinner for our visit to the Grand Canyon. I have a back injury & she took that into consideration with our reservations. Oh yes she even drove us to the train station took us inside & gave us a brief history lesson of the train station. She also picked us up. The location of the campground is perfect to see the Grand Canyon by train or on your own (which we did for another day), Sedona, Jerome, the Painted Desert, Sunset Crater a dormant volcano with wonderfullava flow scenery & historical pueblo ruins. Before we left for each sight they gave us great information to get there with side trips suggested. The most unique things we encountered is the campgrounds FREE breakfast & FREE WiFi at your site. We would come back again & recommend it to anyone. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked this park. It is 14 years old an well kept. They had Xmas decorations all over the place for the Grand Canyon Railways Polar Express trips. It was festive. The owner (wife) was VERY nice. They have a continental breakfast included that was great. Sites are good sized, gravel and reasonably level. Our site 8, backed up to the Grand Canyon Railway. The Polar express made 3 round trips that evening. It was a convenient drive to town. Would stay again for sure. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Accept all the good stuff you can say about a camp ground, and it is a very good one, the owner will walk the extra mile for you and that what makes the different!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The people were very friendly. They made us feel like family. It was the best stay we have ever had in an RV campground. The continental breakfast was immense with loads of things to choose from. On Monday they had biscuits and hot gravy with sausage in it, no charge. Whenever we go up north, we will stay at the Railside RV Ranch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this site for everyone. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What can I say? It is nothing bad at all. The owners were great, the cookouts and movie were excellent, and the volunteers were extremely friendly. We stayed here for a little over 3 months. I don't think that you could find a nicer atmosphere anywhere else. They made us feel like family. The breakfast in the morning was great, the wi-fi is perfect and the sites are great. There is always something going on. The deck is always a blaze with laughter and conversation, and once the weather started getting a little colder they had fires at night. The owners and "volunteers" are extremely versed in the area, and they offer all kinds of discounts and help with directions wherever you want to go. Like I said what else can I say. This is definetley the best choice and the best choice if you are ever in Williams. We will always stay here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wow! This is the best way to describe the Railside Ranch. The volunteers are fabulous. They all go out of their way to make you feel at home! The sites are pull-through or back-in and they can accommodate big rigs. There is gravel down throughout the park with just a little red dirt showing on the sides of the sites. Arizona and New Mexico has such pretty coloring throughout the state because of the red dirt. The volunteers live at the Railside and help with many duties at the park. They also keep an eye out at the park. When someone’s awning goes down, the volunteers are the first to spot it and help out. They pull it back in and fix it up as best as they can. The Railside has a free deluxe continental breakfast every morning! On Friday nights, they show a free outdoor movie with free popcorn, lemonade and water. Saturday nights they have a free cookout, movie, popcorn, lemonade and water! Sometimes on Saturday afternoons before the cookout, there are outdoor music shows. This might be a band or a single person playing and singing. One time it was Kenny Rogers! The office has a small gift shop and rv supplies. The restrooms are very clean! They are cleaned twice a day. The laundry room is clean with 4 washers, 4 dryers and a deep sink. There is a game room next to the office. It has a tv for watching or video games. There is also a ping pong table, two computers, and a phone for local or 800 number use. Our boys had so much fun at the Railside that they did not want to leave! When it came time to leave for the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Their oldest son warned us of the fire up there. We called and checked on the fire and decided not to go to the North Rim to be safe. They had NO problem what-so-ever with us staying another week! They will make reservations for the Grand Canyon Railway for you. They will even drive you over to the train station in the morning and pick you up in the evening when it comes in. The Railside is a great, family run rv park. They have done their homework and it shows! We will ALWAYS stay at the Railside. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We've stayed at Railside RV Ranch several times when passing through or staying in Willaims. The owners are great. They helped us make reservations for the train, which passes right by the campground each morning and evening. We also took a wonderful 4 wheel drive sunset tour of the Grand Canyon, with our reservations made by the campground. Railside has free wireless internet and cable TV. The campsites are level and large enough to accommodate our 35 ft 5th wheel. I would give them a 10, but for the fact that there are too many long time residents with run down RVs that are somewhat of an eyesore. We would not let that stop us from staying at Railside Ranch the next time we are in Williams. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very enjoyable stay here. We stayed over night one night and 2 nights on return trip. Staff very helpful, got us tickets to Grand Canyon train and offered free shuttle service to the train depot. Highly recommend park, nice long pull-through sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped 4 nights. Friendliest most helpful staff ever experienced! Four sites of our families stayed there, but they allowed us to have our family reunion there! Clubhouse and canopied area provided! They even cooked for us! We also took the Grand Canyon Railroad on Friday. Railside has shuttle service to the depot! We live in Burbank, WA but we will return to their RV park whenever in the area! Joe & Laura We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We had a family reunion at the Railside Rv Ranch and received a warm welcome. The owners of this park were extremely nice and friendly. Our entire group was very glad that we had picked this rv park to stay in. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rv park to anyone who is planning a stay in Williams Arizona. Thank you to all the wonderful staff and especially Pat and Tamara for your help and and consideration to my entire family. WE WILL ALWAYS STAY AT THE RAILSIDE RV RANCH whenever we are in Williams again. You two are tops in our book!!! Keep up the terrific work. THANK YOU !!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Words cannot describe or state about our stay here at the RAILSIDE RV Ranch. Owners, Pat & Tammara, along with their special volunteers, went out of their way to make sure we felt at home in every aspect. At no extra expense, we experienced nitely cookouts, movie with popcorn; and even some live music. Spaces are spacious and graveled; bathrooms, especially the showers, are the BEST we have seen during our vacation; and pet sitting was available if needed. Our train reservations were made during checkin, and there was also a shuttle to and from the depo. We really enjoyed our stay and will be returning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

After reading the reviews, I was surprised when we first pulled up. It was not as I had envisioned, but there are a couple of sure things. The folks are friendly and helpful. They showed movies outside and gave everyone popcorn. They made the train reservations for us. They hauled us to and from the train. And if you want to see the going and comings of all The Grand Canyon Railroad equipment, then this is the place to be. The train(s) have to pass directly by this place to go anywhere. We enjoyed ourselves in Williams, but none of the parks here are what I would call picturesque. And there are a bunch of parks here with very similar names, so be careful and don't end up in the wrong one. And the WIFI is fast and works well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice owners, continental breakfast at no extra charge. Something happening every night, singer, Friday night fish fry, Saturday night, hamburgers and hotdogs, all the trimmings and then an old movie with popcorn, blankets to keep warm if needed. All the above at no extra charge, they do have a tip jar if you want to give. Really nice place and the owners are excellent at giving advice as to visiting the Canyon and local area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an AVERAGE park right on the tracks for the train to the Grand Canyon. Plus's + Continental breakfast + Friendly owners + Gameroom with free internet access + Free cable TV Minus's - Gravel roads - Gravel sites - No picnic table at site - Dirty bathrooms - A few small trees - Don't accept American Express. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We hosted a rally for 47 rigs at Railside RV Ranch in Williams. The staff worked their tails off to make sure everything went smoothly. The rally was a complete success thanks to the caring and sharing attitude of the owners. They arranged all our tours and sightseeing trips, prepared and fed 87 people for 3 dinners and made sure everyone was happy. We highly recommend this park to any group wishing to tour the Grand Canyon area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great RV facility, with a super friendly and efficient family running the park; and a wonderful staff. Long, level, gravel sites with views of the surrounding mountains. Many sites already have 50 amp, and all sites will soon have 50 amp. Easy access (about a mile) from I-40; you can see the interstate from the c/g, however, no road noise. If you use AZ exit 165 from I-40, you'll cross the Grand Canyon Railway tracks on Rodeo Rd, just before turning into the park. Super free WiFi, and if you really need a swimming pool, there is an aquatic center in town. Downtown Williams, and the Train Depot, is just a mile away. Williams and Railside RV Ranch are a great place to stay while exploring northern Arizona. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great campground in a great little town. We were with a large group, and everything was arranged for us: breakfast, suppers, train ride to the Canyon, trip to Sedona, and anything else that any of us wanted to do. They have a wonderful dog walking service, if your going to be gone for the day. The sites are now gravel, helping to keep the high desert dust down. This is the RAILSIDE RV Ranch, not to be confused with another campground in the area with a very similar name. Railside RV is right beside the Grand Canyon RR tracks, where you get to watch a train load of happy passengers going to and coming from the Grand Canyon each day. Managers and helpers were absolutely the best. We would definitely stay at Railside again whenever we're in the superb area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great park to use as a base to visit the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, and the area state and national parks. The staff is friendly and helpful, answered every question we had. They gave us great recommendations of things to see and do. Bathrooms and showers were clean, clean, clean. Hi-speed wireless worked great, and cell phone service at full power. Good selection of restaurants in town, and also a Safeway market. The train goes by at 10am, and everyone goes outside to wave! And no early morning train whistle! We checked out the campgrounds on the road to Grand Canyon, and nothing was as nice, clean or reasonable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean park and restrooms. Continental breakfast is free to guests. The best feature of this CG is the people who run the place. They really seem to love what they do and want their guests to have an excellent experience. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A great base to explore the Grand Canyon & northern Arizona area. All sites are gravel and very level. Great free WiFi. Good free continental breakfast. Tammera and Pat, who own and run the park, are extremely personable and very knowledgeable about the area, and can offer good suggestions. Very few extended stay guests. Park is 15 years old, and the Birch trees at most sites planted then are now about 15ft tall and were just starting to leaf out when we left. Just 4 washers and dryers in the laundry, so it can get congested. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Front desk was very helpful, ordered my Grand Canyon train and tour tickets for me, all I had to do was pick them up. The park is average but it does have WiFi which was a big plus. They provide a simple continental breakfast in the morning. We were there during a major snow storm, and their pipes froze. They don't open their office until 8:30 am which I feel is a little too late. I thought it was nice that their help stepped outside the door to wave at the Grand Canyon train as it passed by the resort. You do hear alot of train horns at night but that is to be expected since you are near so many train tracks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground is family owned and runned. We love camping here. Spaces are gravel pull throughs but very easy access and kept clean. The have Wi-Fi and cable TV. They are close to the railway station and said they will have a shuttle to the station in May. Very nice office and store. We stayed here 5 years ago and office lady remembered our names. This camp ground will always be our number one places to camp. We went on the train trip to the Grand Canyon. The train travels right pass the RV resort, office lady and her family are all on the porch waving to us as we went buy. I hope everyone that travels to Arizona (Williams), will make sure to stop in to spend the night. You won't be sorry! We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the better parks in Williams. All parks in this town are on red mud/clay with some rock, but this is among the best ones. Friendly staff and they will house-sit your pet upon request. Just pray it doesn't rain while you are here. They do have an outstanting FREE wi-fi, and an excellent FREE cable tv. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The couple who run this park are absolutely great. We checked in during a snow storm and they even came by after we got settled and asked if we needed anything. The interstate and the main line railroad tracks are far enough away so noise is not a problem. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great RV park to base yourself for the Grand Canyon, Williams and Flagstaff. The hosts are wonderful, and offered lots of local information. We had a slight problem getting a rental car, but Pat and Tammara helped to make it possible. You can watch the Grand Canyon Train leave every morning, just as seen on TV in RV Today. The toilets and showers are very clean, and the hospitality of the owners made this a very pleasant stay. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Best park I have ever stayed at. You must stay here if you are ever in the area. Owners are very, very helpful in everything you might need. Absolutely great experience. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, friendly staff, they will take care of your train and bus tickets to the
Grand Canyon. Alot of activities in the area and good food. Snow skiing, route 66, and train ride to Grand Canyon all within 5 miles. Only complaint was the red mud, AZ has had alot of rain lately as well as the snow in Williams has turned the dust previously mentioned into a muddy mess. The WiFi access was free, the CATV had alot of channels (40+). We would stay here again if in Williams. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are nearing the end of a month's stay at Railside RV Ranch in Williams, AZ. Our stay has been very enjoyable. The weather beautiful. The park is well maintained. Bathrooms and showers large and always clean. The lots are good-sized, level and easily accessed with free wireless internet. The owners are very friendly, helpful, and have a good sense of humor. The town of Williams is within walking distance. We highly recommend Railside to anyone traveling in the area. We travel in a Coachmen cab over. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice, clean park located in Williams, AZ. Williams is a nice little town located on Route 66. It is conveniently located for a trip via rail or car to the Grand Canyon. A day trip to Sedona is also possible. The nightly rate includes full hook-ups including cable and free wi-fi. The lots are gravel, no patio. We stayed 4 nights. Management was very friendly, offering sightseeing advice and discount restaurant coupons. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent park with a beautiful view in a beautiful setting. I would stay at this CG in the future to ride the train, on Saturday nights during the summer the campground does a free BBQ dinner for anyone in the park, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and water melon, plus they run a free movie in their outdoor theatre. Just beware this park is very water conservative! (I understand they are in a severe draught) I got quite a tongue lashing for using a half gallon of water to wash 1200 miles worth of bugs off my windshield. Despite that I do recomend this RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great RV park if you are a train enthusiast. The Grand Canyon Railroad runs only 100' from the park, and there is a lot of opportunity to see the vintage train close up. If you are not a train enthusiast, then the 4:00 A.M. train whistle outside your window might not be so fun. Parents should be aware that there is no fence between the tracks and the park, so children need to be watched closely! Other than that, a straight-forward park, pretty well maintained. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting the Grand Canyon and surrounding area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campgrounds were clean. Nice wide pull throughs. No charge for Wi Fi. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Location, Location, Location Great customer service. Very clean and with good size spaces. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites are easy to get in an out of and are level. There are not a lot of ameneties, but WI-FI is FREE! The owners are wonderful!!! We really enjoyed the view of the Grand Canyon Railway that passes the campground a couple of times a day. The owners make this worth the stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is extremely clean, family oriented and friendly. The staff is very helpful and friendly and all of your needs are met. This park is family owned and geared toward family. I would recommend everyone stay here if in the are, especially if you are going to the grand canyon. It was a pleasure to stay here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent campground with excellent hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful about the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is a little rough around the edges. The couple who own it are very friendly and they accept AARP for discounts. Interior roads are mostly gravel. Sites are adequate although not what I would call spacious. They are a strange combination of a red clay-like material and stone. It looks as if they have not yet finished spreading stone on all the sites and the stone that is in place is very soft. They offer discounts on a few area restaurants and you can buy tickets at the office for the railroad ride to the Grand Canyon leaving from a station about one mile away. It was OK for a night or two to go up and see the Canyon, but it's not a place I would rush back to. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Gave a 5 for the above average customer service of the owners and clean showers. Park is basically a gravel lot. It was OK since we just used it as a place to sleep. One strange thing upon pulling in I noticed no one had anything sitting out. No chairs grills etc unless being used. Found out later Williams had a crime problem. Hopefully that has been taken care of. Unlike other posters would stay elsewhere next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
One of our favorite campgrounds. Open, big, level sites with good voltage. Sites are large enough for the biggest of motor homes, with tow vehicles. Owner/operators were super. They truly seem to care that all their campers are happy. Campground is only about one mile from downtown Williams, along Historic Route 66 and 50's type diners and restaurants, and the Grand Canyon Railway Station. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is, in our opinion, the only park in Williams. It is the friendliest, most comfortable park we have visited over the past 8 years. We first stopped here for an overnight 4 years ago and immediately fell in love with the owners and their very friendly RV park. Then we realized how comfortable the entire area was. We are fulltimers from Florida but spend several weeks a year at this park, and will continue to do so when in the West. In fact, these owners are like family and we always feel we're coming home when we drive in. Also, a recent plus is the introduction of free wireless, highspeed internet service which makes this our park of choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this campground. It is a regular stop on our yearly business trip to Las Vegas. It is along the Grand Canyon Railroad and you can see the antique train cars going to and from the Grand Canyon daily. Phone hookup, cable, all hookups. It is a bit dusty, but everything is. We stay in mid January to early Febuary. It is very easy access to the interstate and clean as can be! I understand that during the summer they have great activities for children. Going back out to Vegas for the floorcovering show in a few weeks, looking forward to the Williams stop. Take the train to the Grand Canyon, if you are able. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a Kaibab Forest Campground with no hookups. It is 19 miles southeast of Williams and the last 10 miles is on a gravel road. The campground fills up on the weekends in the summer, reservations for some sites are available. The lake is stocked for fishing and good for kayaking or canoeing, small electric motors are allowed. Good ATV roads are near by. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. National Parks Passes will decrease the nightly rate by 50%. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a very nice campsite, we were in site 104 on the outer circle with a view into the forest, site was very level, and multiple sewer hook up for each site. Free good Wi-Fi, good 3G Verizon service, could not ask for more. Was so nice we extended our stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean park and maintained well. After check in you are escorted to your site. Sites are pretty level with plenty of room. The dog run area has lots of running room for the dogs. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stop at this park every time we travel across Arizona. Staff is consistently friendly and helpful. Inside pool and hot tubs are perfect way to relax after traveling. Convenient to I-40 and close to the Grand Canyon Railroad. Sites are fairly level, gravel, but sites are very close together. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate reflects KOA rewards being used. We were in a fairly level site. Folks in office was friendly. Everything looked clean. The sites are gravel. The only thing I can complain about was not the campgrounds fault. The folks that was beside us on Monday night had a motorhome. They decided to leave at 3:30 am and let the motorhome run. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the owners and staff were. (They trimmed tree limbs so they wouldn't hit the roof, and rearranged things for us because we needed to stay longer). It's a wooded park with nice big sites, easy access in and out. The laundry room was one of the cleanest we've used. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Huge park in the pines. VERY well kept--clean & tidy with nice level (long) sites and a fire pit at each site. Freeway noise was loud, and train whistles could be heard throughout the day & night. Large Kamp K9, but no separation for large/small dogs. Tons of things for kids to do. Wi-Fi was strong. Very friendly staff. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great park in the pine trees. It has friendly staff and up to date facilities. Nice enclosed pool with two spas; however, we didn't happen to go in. Restrooms were sparkling and new condition. Wi-Fi was strong. Area is on a slight slope but sites are level. We did not have to unhitch our TT to level. It was spot on. Trains can be heard at a distance but were insignificant. Slight highway noise, but we were in the farthest row. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is near the Historic Route 66 town in Williams, AZ. The campground includes many pull through RV spots and cabins. The park is surrounded by forest and walking trails. The park owners were friendly and park was very clean. This park is close to the town of Williams, which includes many gift shops, historic restaurants and the Grand Canyon Railway. The RV park includes an indoor swimming pool, two spas, pool table, air hockey table, volleyball court, pet park, gift shop and much more. Propane was also available onsite. Only issue we discovered was the sound of the distant train during the night. Please view their website for more details and local attractions. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
When they say "Circle Pines" the really mean it. The Campground sites are configured in circular rings with lots of mature pines. We were in a very nice site which was a long gravel and level pull-through with length enough for our car and plenty of room on the sides for relaxing outside. Our site (#100) was in the outer ring looking out into the forest which was a nice area of the campground as it was toward the back. This muted a lot of the noise from 1-40 which is close by and could be irritating if in the front section. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed here for 2 days visiting Grand Canyon which is about an hour drive. We like the town of Williams because it is on Old Rt. 66 and close to the RV Park. Although there are several other parks nearby, we have found this to be the best one. I would rate it a "9" except they do not have cable and it is a little on the noisy side. If we ever come back this way, would choose this KOA again, We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground was well maintained. It is an older KOA but they do keep up on it. They were doing some renovations while we were here. We had never stayed in a camping cabin before, we usually have our travel trailer. This was a new experience for us. I don't think I will do it again. I like having my own place. This was kind of like tent camping with walls. Very rustic. It was however exactly what they said it was. The people at the front desk were polite but not too friendly. I felt as though I was interrupting them when asking a question or when I checked in. Others working here and the maintenance staff were friendly. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
This KOA is great, the sites were large and there was plenty of room between sites. The people were friendly and very helpful. The only complaint was that when outside you could hear the traffic from I-40, inside our trailer we could not. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If you want a well organized park in a pine forest this is your place. Circular layout with fairly large sites. The roads and sites are rock-gravel. The park is about 3 miles from the Route 66 town of Williams. This is a place with about 5 restaurants and 10 route 66 kitchen shops. But also a newish Safeway and where the railroad goes to the Grand Canyon. Very nice inside pool. Doggy doo bags in appropriate areas. Slow service at reception. This park is noisy. Truck and train noise. But if you want the park with the prettiest site in the area this is the one. Bearizona a nice little animal park within five minutes of RV park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Since it was November, it wasn't very full and the staff spaced people throughout the park. Each space has a picnic table and fire ring and they had heaters on their water stand pipes (great since it got down to 14 degrees). Easy access within park and to your site and wide internal roads. Access to forest service roads from the park. Bathrooms were immaculate! Has an off the leash dog park with some dog agility equipment. Very nice KOA and highly recommend it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We base camped here for a week in October. The park is on old route 66 (it dead ends 1/4 mile east of park). Site was level. Nice shade and sites not too close together. We had 5 empty spaces around most of the time. Staff was very friendly. We phoned 2 days ahead to see if we could come early..no problem. Yes KOA's are on the high side, but the satisfaction of a great stay is worth it. We will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This Park is easy to get to from the Freeway, with good driveways and long sites. Built on a hill, but sites are amazingly level. Tall pines all over and trimmed high for big rigs. The only problem is water has to be trucked in. Showers are really good, but you have to keep pushing a button to get water. It only comes on for 5 seconds at a time! Indoor heated pool is nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a well located RV Park just outside the road to the Grand Canyon. It is 58 miles to the Grand Canyon. This park has many pine trees but they also block any satellite reception and they don't offer cable. Hope you have a DVR! They offer a clean laundry but it's $2.00 to wash a load and $1.00 to dry. They also have an inside pool. The rate I listed was with a discount and tax. Seems like a lot but all the parks near the canyon are high. We had full hookups. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It was easy to find, and by far the prettiest RV park that we saw in the Williams area (lots of trees). We made our reservations by phone just two weeks ahead, and were able to reserve two adjacent sites, one for us, and one for my husband's parents. It was pretty full on the weekends, but not crowded during the week. It is very centrally located for day trips to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona as well as Meteor Crater which was actually only about an hour away. My only complaint was that there isn't much room around each actual campsite for kids to play, and all the campsites are directly next to the driveways. We have four kids between 3 and 8 years of age. That said, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities and room to play if you venture away from your campsite. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The laundry facility was clean with 6 washers and dryers that were reasonably priced ($2 per wash load, $1.00 for 30 minutes of dry time). The store was pricey for things like milk ($5 for 1/2 gallon), but they actually had great prices on t-shirts, hats etc. They also have a restaurant, and will deliver pizza to your site (great on an evening arrival!) And you're only an exit away from downtown Williams and a real grocery store. There were fire restrictions the first two nights we were there, but they were lifted after a heavy rain storm. The whole campsite is covered in gravel, which actually is great in monsoon season, keeping it from getting mucky with the downpours. I would camp here again in a heartbeat. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Highway noise all night, pricey ($56.96 w/tax), compact uneven sites on slope, dusty gravel covered sites and un-friendly. You wonder if they want your business, one particular woman should not be in the service oriented business. I do not recommend this park to any. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was typical KOA. We've stayed here twice. Family oriented, things for the kids, events/ activities planned during busy season. Sites were fine, but can get a little beat up. Bathrooms and showers are always in need of cleaning. They get so many people in and out that I think it is difficult to keep up with. Complaints are usually dealt with in a timely manner. Unsupervised kids can sometimes be a problem. Sites are shady and fairly level. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I love the heated swimming pool and the activities for the kids during the summer. Very very clean. A little crowded, probably because it is just plain nice! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The campground is in the pine trees, so it was a beautiful location to stay while visiting the Grand Canyon. The friendly staff made us feel welcome and helped direct us to the local sights. Although we were in a motorhome, we took a look at the cute cabins they have. They will be perfect when we come back with friends that don't have an RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our experience @ Circle Pines KOA did not warrant a return visit. We had heard bad things about KOA's in Arizona and Circle Pines pretty much confirmed most of it. This place is not anything special. Is this place for sale? We saw a real-estate sign and wondered if that might explain our experience with this place. The woman that helped check us in didn't explain anything - nothing about the amenities of the KOA, the activities -- NOTHING! I overheard some of the other staff going over everything with the other people that were checking in, but our boring blah woman said nothing. When I asked her about the activities/amenities, she gave me the shortest answers possible to just get rid of me. We were so unfortunate to always get this woman again and again every time we went back into that store/office. It made for a terrible impression about customer service at this place. We also went into the store once after it had rained a lot and our spot was slippery and muddy. We were hoping we could move to a less muddy spot. The KOA manager quickly disappeared as soon as she heard us mention that we wanted to move - like she didn't want to deal with us - and again left us to have to deal with the awful customer service lady that, of course, said they were full and couldn't move us and explained it in as few words as possible hoping to get rid of us. In addition to awful customer service, this KOA is right off Interstate 40 and right near train tracks, so you hear the freeway traffic "ALL THE TIME" and the trains aren't too bad, but you do hear their horns. Plus this place seems old and buildings seem run-down. The playground equipment is neglected and the sandbox is more like a dirt and weed pit. No one enforces the rules regarding young children running around by themselves, so you end up with some pretty scary teens running around intimidating the younger children, jumping around and abusing all the playground equipment that is obviously meant for younger children and of course, no parents anywhere in sight to correct the out-of-control teens. I took my toddlers to the playground and literally stood in between them and some out-of-control teens that were throwing the swings around with all their might for fear that one of the swings might break off and go flying toward my children. These kids were fighting and abusing the playground equipment and staff just walked by and said nothing. Meanwhile parents were nowhere to be found. This is not completely the KOA's fault, but I'm sure there are some parents that love coming to this place because they know that none of the staff will say anything and they can just cut their little monsters loose to go terrorize the place and give them peace. If the parents knew that the KOA had a no tolerance policy for this sort of thing, they wouldn't let their kids run wild for others to take care of and to terrorize other guests. If most KOA's are like this one, we're really not interested in staying at a KOA anytime in the near future and definitely not interested in returning to Circle Pines. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
We stayed at this park for 4 days while visiting the Grand Canyon/Northern AZ area. As one can imagine, this is a very busy park. All sites are gravel/dirt and reasonably level. Our site was quite small. By the time we got our trailer positioned between the trees so we could open the awning, we didn't have any space left to park our truck. Most sites were quite close together. Our neighbor's fire ring was about 5 ft from our trailer. The indoor pool is always busy and there are plenty of activities for kids. They had good Wi-Fi, but we were less than 100 ft from the antenna. They could use more shower/restroom facilities as there was a line for the showers most mornings. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice park located in the middle of a stand of pine trees with a very accommodating and friendly staff who escort you to your site. The parks attraction for us was the location near Grand Canyon. This is a family oriented park with lots of activities so expect a lot of kids around. There is an indoor heated pool. The sites are OK and the whole park is surfaced with the red cinder material so common to this area. We find KOA’s to be priced higher than most other parks but usually provide nice clean and secure accommodations. Due to a water shortage the showers operate a little strange. It requires you to press a handle over and over again to keep the water flowing. This park has a secure wireless internet connection. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
If you own dogs, this is the place! We have a lab and boxer and they love the water. The KOA is close to two lakes. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us a number of tips on what to do during our stay. We had a great time. The showers were some of the best I've ever used. The sites were ok (not perfectly level), but the entire camping experience was excellent. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall a quite nice stopover. Staff was very friendly and helpful. All sites had a table, drawbacks, no cable and the pull through site we were in was very unlevel. I had to unhook from the TV and move it to allow the front of the FW to lower so we could be level. Other than that a little hiway noise but livable. Lots of trees, we would stay again, I would just make sure I was in a better site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A nice park among the trees located on a slope above I-40. Easy to find with helpful staff to guide you to your site. Our site was just wide enough for the slide and table but am glad no one was next to us. Many of the sites have been terraced but are far from level. With blocks our rear wheels were off the ground. Our site was located on the far side away from the freeway but the commercial truck traffic was a constant drone all night long. Also the main east/west railroad corridor for freight runs through the valley where the whistle sound travels throughout the quiet park. Glad we were not in a tent. The park is family friendly with many activities to keep them busy. As a stop on the way our destination this location works well. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The very large staff were working very hard to keep up and improve the campground. A new restroom was just built by the Cabins. The pool was clean enclosed and warm and the two spas were clean and hot. Sites are shaded by full grown trees, and all spots were fresh gravel and level. The staff were helpful, and were knowledgeable of the area. We were traveling as a group with two motorhomes and a camping cabin. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground has all the amenities that you would expect from a KOA plus a few more. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The laundry has five of the latest front loading washing machines and six dryers. They have an indoor pool and two spas of different temperatures. The sites are gravel, almost level and mostly in the trees giving park a family feel. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I thought the park cost a little to much for just water and electric. The staff was friendly and helpful. The spot where we were to have was taken, with full hook-up and took a while to figure what to do. They put us in a slot with only water and electric, since that was the only ones they had left. The pool and hot tub wasn't too clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very rustic and family oriented KOA. In fact, this is the first KOA we have ever stayed at. Would rate it higher but for $48, would expect a lot more for that type of money, such as cable TV, WiFi and paved sites. A lot to do however and a great staff. Movies at night for the family, hayrides, mini golf, indoor pool and spa, well stocked store, souveniers, game room, etc. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice park with a friendly staff. The campsite we stayed in was gravel and dirt, no concrete pads. There was plenty of room for our 33 footer and towed vehicle in the pull-through space. A picnic table and rock fire ring were provided at each site. It was close to a 10 except the games in the game room were all broken. The laundry room was immaculate. The tent and Kabin area is set aside away from the pull-through sites and we had no noise problems at all. Watch out for skunks at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is under new management, and apparently has had a lot of changes since the other reviews. The staff is friendly and there weren't any problems with the other campers. The facilities were clean, with lots of extras during the summer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pricey, but adequate. A challenge for big rigs w/slides in most sites. We camped here in a camper.

I agree with the above rating, it's adequate. The grounds are mainly dirt. The pool is indoor, but I found it to be quite dirty most of the time. My biggest issue was with the attitude of the staff. We were on a full service site and management actually put a bunch of cussing lowlifes beside us. There must have been four couples with a total of 12 kids who were all over the place. There was a pop-up, and two tents all on one site. The next morning we heard them talking on a cell phone in their trailer, and were instructing others how to get to their site and avoid the front office. We warned the front office and guess what! By the end of the day there were 4 MORE people here, they were partially parked on the road and our site. These guys slept in the back of their pick-ups. We left early. We did get a refund for the last two days, but it does put a damper on your trip. I think management shouldn't use such bad judgement in placing their guests. Maybe they were scared of that bunch themselves, but that certainly doesn't say much for security in my book. I think security is a very important issue in RV parks. We camped here in a camper.
