"Diamond in the rough" best sums it up. Nice transients, many miserable full-timers who ignore the rules, unsafely. Very quiet, except for the 4:00 am risers going to work, slamming doors and roaring out. Although very close to a pulp and paper mill, there is absolutely no smell ! No recreation facilities except a kids' swing and tree fort, unsafe ocean swimming, no beach, and a low-tide accessible boat dock. Be prepared to be moved from site-to-site if you are not one of the long-time returning families - they come first, and rest of transients are slotted into the short vacancies. Rate reflects longer-term stay. Note on the laundry - often one or more broken machines, always dirty, poorly maintained. Water pressure at sites varies between 20 - 32 psi. Water is drinkable, chlorinated, fluoridated, but clean and safe. Town of Crofton is quite small, has two small grocery stores, one selling booze, there is a pub, book store, video rental and knickknack shops. It's only 20 minutes to a larger town (Duncan), or an hour to Victoria or Nanaimo. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A hidden gem, and very friendly people. This RV park is hard to get a spot in. It is very busy in the spring/summer/fall/winter. I recommend to book early so you are not disappointed. Great managers and they always go out of their way to help you. This park is right next to the ferry that goes over to Salt Spring Islands. If you want a park that you can relax in, this is it. Would most definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
