This is a very clean, quiet park with friendly staff. This is our second visit and will not be our last. It is a great destination to get out of the summer heat of the California central valley. It is a not-too-short walk to the beach but well worth the effort. Mexican restaurant adjacent to the park is OK (3 out of 5 stars) but if you have a towed it would be better to drive into town for seafood. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Small, clean, neat, gravel sites but well maintained, good access from Hwy 1, walk to beach, helpful staff, excellent park. Would be a 10 if it had hard pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We dropped in for an overnight. This is a very clean, well kept park. Sites are fairly close together, but they have nice grassy grounds. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The $37 price was with our AAA discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Just got back from Doran yesterday. We cannot wait to go back! Clean, great hosts, great rangers, wonderful campground. We stayed 3 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. They had a wonderful beach model wheelchair that they loaned to us for my brother so he could go to the beach. Very nice extra! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The positive; great views, close to ocean and Bodega Harbor. The negative; not much privacy between some sites during peak season. Weather was great two of three days visited. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I will stay here again. The park host keeps everything in order and is very helpful. The sites are nice, all have fire pits and water is close. It is normally very windy so it is nice to have the fire at night. Some of the sites are large enough to pitch a large tent with the RV so the whole family can camp together. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a space right on the bay. People would walk between our space and the Bay. The spaces could have been a little cleaner. We had a hard time finding the office as well as other people. The spaces on the bay are deep and skinny. The cable TV was limited. The park needs to be updated. The people in the office were very friendly and helpful. It was full on the weekend, but pretty empty during the week. The fire pits are placed in a strange location. Our fire pit was next to the back of the trailer next to us. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Loved it as it served our purpose fully. Lot 19 is huge and has a fire ring. Fog horn and seals in the background. New owners are updating the park. Good place if you want to stay on the water on HWY 1. I'm sure it's not "resort" enough for many, but that's not what we were looking for. Would definitely stay here again. Great Verizon and AT&T signal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good location on the water and marina. Otherwise, it is a fairly ordinary park, certainly nothing special. Level gravel sites with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms were dated and needed attention. Wi-Fi was non-existent, and the cable TV was not receiving several channels listed on the program. We heard that the park has been sold to a group from LA, so perhaps they will make needed improvements. Nevertheless, we would stay here again because we love the area, and the park is adequate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We always stay in the sites toward the middle that are protected by the trees. You don't have to worry about the wind. Great campground that's close to town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful sites--spaced far apart, lots of trees. Every site has a picnic table, fire pit, and storage cupboard. All are close to trash, recycling (yay!), and fresh water pump, as well as nice, clean bathrooms with hot showers. We stayed off-season, so park was practically deserted. Gorgeous flora (and scary fauna--skunks are about, so beware!). Loved walking the area, but dogs are not allowed on dunes, which you have to cross to get to the beach. If you have a dog, you'll need to drive north to find a beach where Fido is welcome. But we found plenty of roads to walk with our dog. Lovely spot. We camped here in a Motorhome.

At $25 it's a bit pricey for dry camping. Also the CG could do with grass cutting once in awhile. It looked like it had not been mown since last year. Fire rings consist of a deep section of pipe which does not make for good ventilation or heat production. Otherwise a nice CG with great sites overlooking the bay, and had sites with tree shade. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This camp is one of our favorites. Most sites are pull thru with plenty of room for slides. The park looks out over the bay toward the town of Bodega Bay. Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 movie ‘’The Birds’’ was based here in Bodega Bay. Westside is a very quiet park with no trains! You may hear the foghorn when the wind is right. There are hose bibs in the park but bring about 75 feet of hose if you need to add water. Restrooms/showers are located on each end of park and have always been clean. Richard is an asset to the Sonoma County Parks system. Verizon cell and 3G broadband works great. This is a great park for boating and crabbing with a boat launch connected to the park. There is a $6.00 fee for launching/parking unless your boat is the second vehicle. It is common to see people boiling crab they caught or purchased from the marina dock. Do not miss Spud Point Crab shack for lunch. This park does not overlook the Pacific, if you are looking for a beach and an ocean view use Doran County Park. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite parks. We stay here four or five times a year. Has level, paved sites, and several pull-throughs with bay views. If you want to walk on the beach, it's a short drive over to Doran County Park and your camping receipt gives you free admittance. Camp hosts are very friendly and do a good job keeping the campground tidy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the few campgrounds in Calif. located on a beach. Surf is dangerous here not safe to go into (my father saw a swimmer drown here during his stay). Tight sites. Dry camping. I know the beach is lovely but not my favorite place to camp. Must have reservations to camp on beach but some overflow spots may be available on any given day. Close to Bodega Bay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this place. Lots of sand in spaces 1-9. Had to use 4 wheel drive to back up in spot #7 due to sand, low trees in some spots lots of shade. Its hard to get into if you can not back up good in lower spaces. We go here 2 to 3 times a year. Love it, NO tv NO phone [ no cell ] you can get Directv. You need to get reserv. to stay in summer. It gets book full on weekends and summer days. We stayed there 7 nights in Jan.2009 had sun ervry day but 1. We love IT We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is part of Sonoma Coast State Beach. Mixed tents and RV sites. I don't think it is suitable for big rigs - 40 feet +, but saw some there. Two pull-through sites. Fresh water and flush toilets. Showers and RV dump are available at Bodega Dunes campground which is about 6 miles away. Usage is free for campers at Wright's Beach. Beach is pretty, but swimming is not recommended as it is dangerous. Dogs restricted from trails, as is the case at many California state parks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
