Dirty and dusty. Boat trailers parked on the side of the road everywhere. Hard to drive a RV with so many trailers all over the place. Party campground. "Gang Activity" Fights in the campground next to us. Must of been 30 people in the one campsite. Bathrooms smelled bad and were dirty. Trash on the ground by the dumpsters.Motor Cycles riding through the campground all night long. Management would not give us our money back when we left after first night. Scary Place ! Manager had a beer in his hand at 8:00 AM when we left. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Overall this campground was decent - I would call it average. It is easy to access while towing a trailer and not far from the freeway (but not TOO close) and close to the small town of Colfax. The main use of this campground seemed to be for boating - there were a large number of boat trailers everywhere! The electrical hookups in the main loop (designated E1 - E13) were standard household 15 amps, and our site was more than 50 ft from the nearest water spigot. The smallish beach was nice, although it dropped off into deep water very quickly. There is a restaurant/grill and boat rentals store right next to it. The sites were large with plenty of tall trees (mostly oaks) for shade. The dump station was adequate. We did see other RV sites that had 30 amp + water hookups, but they were all in a row like a parking lot on the main road and near the restaurant. Cons: Despite lots of room, the place still felt crowded due to lack of shrubs or low-growing trees, narrow roads, and many extra vehicles parked along the roads. It was quite loud and we did not see a single chipmunk, deer, or other wildlife in the campground. There was no easy walking access to the lake due to steep slopes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
