The rate reflects a $2 senior discount. This is a California State Recreation Area now being managed by the city of Colusa. The prior review is unfair since the reviewer did not even stay at the park. There are 15 numbered sites with a rate of $28 per night. However, there is a big parking lot with many sites that are $13 per night. The only differences are grills and picnic tables for the numbered sites. If staying here again, we would probably stay at the unnumbered sites and pay half price. The campground is very nice and very well kept up in this very tidy town of Colusa. You can think of it more like a very nice city park, as that is how it is used by the locals. While staying we were treated to all types of interesting events including the local fire volunteers practicing. If feels very safe with highway patrol, sheriff, and local police coming through quite often. It is fairly quiet but with some highway noise noticeable at night, but not bad. There is a short nature trail but there are miles and miles of levees for hiking or biking. The small town has a decent grocery store. The park has a host that very enthusiastically welcomed us and offered to help. This is a great place to stay while visiting the various wonderful wildlife areas in the area. We found one of the sites with satellite access. Our Verizon cell phone and data card worked well. We would not hesitate to recommend this nice campground and will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground was clean and green that was about the only good thing! It has a "boat ramp" if you can call it that, that was scummy green and bugs, trash, pollen, etc., just covering the water. It is off of the Sacramento River but doesn't get fresh water running through the area. We took a look and a potty break, then we were out of there! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
