There is shade spots but very few. This is part of the National Forest Recreation area. Has a nice creek. Also has a campground host. It was ok for an over nite stop but we won't be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is in a really great environment, tucked into tall pine trees and directly along Hat Creek. The trout fishing is great right in the park, with lots of people catching their dinner just a few feet from their RVs. We took a short hike on the trails behind the park, right up onto the Pacific Crest Trail, and found a great viewpoint overlooking Mount Lassen in nearby Lassen Volcanic National Park. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. There are lots of cabins too, which looked really cozy, along with RV sites with their own horse stalls so that people can bring their horses along to ride on the trails. It was nice to find a forested campground that had lots of really big sites, with plenty of room for our large RV. Everything was clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and we had a great meal in the cafe too. It's pretty remote here, so having a place to eat, along with a large convenience / camp store was handy. Great place for a peaceful getaway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We reserved a creekside, back in site. The staff were very friendly, we were escorted to our site and had help backing in. The hookups were a little toward the front of our RV and the sewer hose I had didn't reach. The staff offered to let us borrow a hose for our stay. The big attraction here is the fishing in Hat Creek. The creek is stocked on Tuesdays by the State of California and there are quite a few creekside sites. The area next to the creek is common ground, so you will not have a private fishing spot by reserving a creekside site. We have three young children and they had a great time fishing and exploring the forest. There is a well stocked store with friendly staff and they serve food. We did not eat here so no review of the food. The campground is in a forest setting, there were some buildings that obviously needed some repair but they were maintenance type buildings. This campground is for those campers interested in fishing and quiet. There is no pool, no game room, just fishing and friendly people. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came here over Memorial Day Weekend, so it was of course packed. Other then all the traffic, it was a really nice rv park. The Staff was friendly, there was excellent fishing right from the campground, and it is a good base for all the local attractions. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is not for big rigs - 30' maximum. There are flush toilets and water spigots. It is next to a busy highway and many logging trucks and other semis pass the road. There is a dump station a couple miles away at the national forest visitor center. The only plus is the pleasant-looking Hat Creek which runs through the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
