Adequate parking lot camping. Full hookups. All back-ins, good width. But all sites slope to front of RV, difficult to level. Wi-Fi very weak and slow. Fresh water tastes odd. Some dry camping allowed (for fee) if hookups site not available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a pretty good park. The kids did not want to leave because they have so many activities. We enjoyed the big screen movies at the pool and the big jumpy. This is a big park. We had a problem with the power going out in the whole camp, but it was fixed quickly. We also stayed here last summer. Yes, we would return again. I thought the price was a bit high, but there is good value here. Well stocked store and friendly staff. We will return another trip as well. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the park a year ago and loved our stay. This year I am downgrading the park due to the "premium" site we were assigned. Our 32 foot 5th wheel barely fit so that we had to find a place to park our truck elsewhere, noting as we looked around that we weren't the only folks experiencing this problem. The site was far from level, making set up a challenge, and the sewer connection was placed on the uphill side. Fire rings were placed right in between units; fortunately neither of our neighbors had fires or our rig would have been inundated by their smoke. There were problems with the park internet (Tengo) disconnecting at times, although our AT&T LTE personal hotspot worked well. There are many nice sites in this park, and many that aren't, so you take your chances. This time we weren't one of the lucky ones, but there aren't a lot of options for staying in Petaluma where we visit family, so we'll probably return. Too dang much money for what you get, but what else is new about KOA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in our Fifth Wheel with 4 adults and one dog. The rate reflected the extra 2 people and Golden Retriever. Nice clean facility. Some dirt pads, but we had fairly level, asphalt pad with a nice lawn area. Wi-fi was about par for RV parks! Many fulltime residents, but park felt and looked safe and comfortable. Wide interior streets; no problem with 42 ft trailer plus truck. Lots of trees, grassy areas. Its location is close to a freeway and easy to find. Very close to old downtown so lots of food options and activities. Petaluma has a country feel, and the town itself is fun and folksy! This is far and away the best park anywhere near San Francisco. (We have looked extensively.) Worth the extra drive 37 miles to San Fransisco. Children will like this park. Nice pool and nice folks. We plan to stay here anytime we come to the Bay Area. I highly recommend this KOA. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects local taxes and is for a water/electric (no sewer) site. It does not reflect any discount for a KOA membership. The check in staff was pleasant, professional, and helpful. We asked for and were located reasonably close to the showers. The showers (closest to us) were in a separate building from the rest rooms, which we did not visit. The showers were each accessed through individual doors to the outside. The vent in one shower did not adequately remove the build up of steam, but the shower I used was fine. Overall, this was a decent, but not great, RV park. For what was provided, the price was high -- but that also reflects its location on the perimeter of the S.F. Bay Area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great location, wifi was good, a lot of activities for kids and for adults in the surrounding area. Now the bad, our site was muddy after it rained (not enough rock). It was not possible to level at our location and asked to be moved, although the park was half full they would not move us. The sewer was located above our line requiring us to lift the end and drain it, not pleasant!! There are a lot of permanent residents and they have allowed them to accumulate a lot of "stuff" around their sites. With a better site we would stay again only because of the great location. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects monthly rate (plus electric). Paved roads, mostly gravel sites, fairly level, easy maneuvering 42'5th. FHU well located on site. Many shaded sites and many with easy satellite view. Excellent cable TV. Excellent Verizon voice and data reception. Restrooms and laundry excellent, staff excellent, helpful and enthusiastic. Grounds constantly groomed. Very dog friendly. Close to Sonoma, Napa, San Francisco, and coast. W/I 10 miles of COSTCO, grocery stores, Trader Joe's, WalMart,and Green String Farm Market. Very family oriented, especially on weekends - no issues w/ noise. Only negative: surrounded by farms and onsite petting zoo -- occasional STRONG 'barnyard' odor. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Family Rv park, We had a spacious end site near our friends cabin which was great especially at the pay for 1 night and get the second night free deal. The staff was great and offered our friends a discount due to a mix up. The sites are nice and clean but the real attraction is the kids just have blast. We will definitely be back soon, probably for Halloween. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a fairly nice park, almost a resort. The pool is large and gorgeous, and there are numerous, nice looking play areas and attractions for kids. The bathrooms and showers, while plain on the outside, are as nice and clean as a four star hotel on the inside. There are two laundry rooms that are clean, and all equipment looked in good order although a bit pricey to use. The park grounds are quite beautiful, placed on rolling hills with thick, mature, tall pines in the north half of the park (difficult for satellite dishes), and a mix of medium sized trees in the south half. Flowers have been planted in many places although by late summer much of the prevalent grass around the park was allowed to go golden. Sites spacing is fairly generous although some sites are graveled, some are paved, and some are terraced. So take a critical drive about the park to choose if there is more than one site available meeting your hook-up needs. While the cable TV worked great, the Wi-fi was slow, poor, or nil. AT&T worked fine, Verizon barely. Also, careful, some sewer hook-ups are at the extreme end of the sites and up-hill!? The park is very quiet, apparently just too large to keep really tidy. Although expensive (this is the Bay area) we’d stay here again. Price reflects KOA discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We chose this KOA due to it's location near San Francisco where we drove the 40 miles each way to visit relatives. The check-in staff was friendly and there is a code access entry gate to the campground. Too bad they don't escort you to your site as we were towing, missed the turn suggested by the check-in girl and ended up driving through the tent sites, winding through the trees. The campground has some large trees which may preclude satellite usage but the provided cable tv was satisfactory. The campground rules ask that you keep your site clean but our site was quite trashy upon our arrival. The fire pit was full of trash and we felt the maintenance staff was rather put out when we asked the office if they could pick it up. They cleaned the firepit but there was still trash in the grass and gravel. When you pay $60 per night for a campsite, the least you can expect is a clean site. There is a nice dog run. The park was packed with kids who seemed to enjoy the nice pool, peddle cars, petting zoo, and other kid attractions. This park is geared for tents up through large rv's and seems to be family orientated. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Check-In was not pleasant. Long driveway from the road to check-in. Trees along driveway could be trimmed back. Check-in was slow and confusing with people purchasing groceries and kids all over. Interior roads were easy to navigate, trees need trimming. Utilities worked as they should. Mostly dead grass that tracked all over the motorhome. Dog run was large and clean, long grass was watered heavily every night so was not useful. The restrooms and showers were clean considering all the children and parents in tents. LOTS of tents and children. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Large park which is great for families and children. Fun for kids, but dangerous in terms of children riding bicycles everywhere with no regard for oncoming cars. Traveled in big rig, spaces were short and not totally level, but worked out just fine. Many people got confused about which direction to turn, to get to their spaces. Loud music and karaoke on weekends until 9:30-10:00 pm. If you are parked across from this area and don't like loud music, plan to go out. Excellent location for visiting Petaluma and surrounding areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pretty rolling hills, paved roads, huge pool and lots of kids activities daily. Petting zoo, which explains the odor of farm animals. Lots of tenters with loud KIDS! Dog leash rule is not enforced very well, we had 3 separate issues with our dogs being confronted and they were on leashes. Tour to San Francisco and the wine country were fabulous and we would do them again. They knew everything about the area and made the whole trip personable. We were not able to use our air conditioner because the voltage in our loop was poor, less than 100 volts at times. After reporting problem, they could only move us because the spots from 1 through 15 have had this problem and it wont be resolved until next year. We were told all other sites did not have this issue. Wi-Fi worked most of the time. Verizon works well here. Great location close to shopping and restaurants. We will stay again, just not next to the tenters. Call ahead, campground is full all the time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I was a little apprehensive because I thought this park might be in the city, but it is beautiful. You do hear Hwy. 101 a little, but not enough to matter. The spaces are big enough and there is lots of shade. The staff is very friendly. Nice dog park. I highly recommend the tour of San Francisco that leaves from the park - excellent and a good value for the price. The only down side is that the park is somewhat noisy due to all the children and the Wi-Fi is a little hard to connect to sometimes unless you are near the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Key point: This is a park for kids. If you have them, you will probably like the park. If not, maybe you won’t. Since our motorhome is 45’, we reserved a premium end site. They are in the reverse direction from the other sites in the area we were in, but the check-in person sent us in the wrong way and we had to struggle to get turned around. The entry gate to the park uses a key pad that is set for car height. In a coach, you must find someone to push the code for you, because by the time you get out of your rig, punch in and get back in to drive through, the gate will close. At one time the sites had grass areas, but now they have dried out and died, leaving dirt and stickers. Water and electric were fine. The sewer was a stretch. There is a nice, large pool that we didn’t use, largely because it was filled with kids. The office store was very complete and the staff there was as helpful as they could be with a constant stream of people looking for assistance. You must be VERY careful driving in this park, because many very young children walk around completely oblivious to traffic and with no parental supervision and the rental bikes and scooters are likely to show up in front of you unexpectedly. This is not a bad park. You should just know what you are getting unto. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects water/electric pull-through site. As a solo RVer this park had things I didn't need/desire (pool, petting zoo, etc.) and the things I really wanted (decent WiFi and ability to use my satellite dome (too many trees.) Since I could not use my satellite, I opted for the included cable, but picture was very fuzzy on all channels. The staff tried to be accommodating, but the park was so busy, they had a hard time keeping up. Maybe this is a good "destination" park for families with kids, but for me it was not the quiet camping I enjoy. Given the price, I think I would avoid this park in the future. It failed to deliver on what is important to me. We camped here in a Motorhome.

So, there are no other parks nearby. This park is huge and not very impressive. We had 1 request: 50 amps, please. The kid at the desk said he'd have no problem with that. Assured me we were getting a nice pull through on the end. Yay, I think: only it wasn't. The site was tiny, and ugly with no shade at all. And, it didn't have 50 amps. So aggravating. The office was full of people waiting for sites and the park was full. I didn't bother to go into the office for an overnighter. Really disappointed. The Wi-Fi is Tengo (ugh!). We were pretty disappointed: especially for the price. We will NOT be back. To be fair, they have lots of amenities for kids: if thats what you want. Me: I wanted 50 amp service and a pleasant looking site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in July for a long weekend in our new Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler. There was a good line checking in and a bigger line by the time we finished checking in, so a very busy weekend. Great Park, cool in the summer months, great shade in most spots. Full Hookups including 50 amp and WiFi. We had an end space and it was worth the extra cost. It had a very nice bench, a porch swing, fire pit and a picnic table, great shade as I said, so much so we did not even put out the awning! Escort to site made hauling our very large and tall rig to the site much easier since he knew the corners and clearances better than the front desk folks. Lots of activities for the kids: petting zoo, ice cream social, pancake breakfast on Sunday, Hay Rides! They also offer guided tours of San Francisco through a company, so you can leave your rig and toad and get a good idea of the city before you start your in depth exploration. Lots to do in Petaluma: pretty town, very cool downtown area to explore. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I was so disappointed in this park. We had a reservation for a full hookup, 50 amp pull through suitable for a 42' motorhome with 4 slides. We were assigned our space and could not believe how small it was or how tight the turns were to get to it. So, we get the motorhome in, can barely open all the slides, forget about the awning, my husband starts to hook us up and it is a 30 amp site! Goes back to the office and there are no 50 amp sites available. Oh well, sorry about that, the girl who took your reservation did not write it down that we had to have 50 amps. So, we are stuck in a 30 amp site for a week, can only run one a/c (and it's hot). This park is huge, many of the sites are terraced, roads are paved but narrow. When it was time to leave we had to back out of the site. If you have a rig smaller than 40' this park will be ok, but it is not big rig friendly. They do not assign you a site until you get here so there is no guarantee that one of the larger sites will be available. The good things. Lots to do if you are traveling with children: pool, petting zoo, lots of activities. Good Wi-Fi. Good location for wine country and the coast. Less than an hour to San Francisco. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park for families with kids and campers with dogs. A little noisy during the day, but hey...there are hundreds of kids there. Wasn't really a bother. Pretty quiet at night, since the kids have expended all their energy and need to sleep. The Kamp K9 is an off leash area for dogs to run and play. Clean-up bags are provided, so there is NO excuse for not picking up after your dog. It must be working because I walked the campground a lot with our dogs and never saw anything that hadn't been picked up. Had site 189 which was partial hookups. Water pressure was OK. Wi-Fi in my site was very strong. Was there about 4 years ago and it wasn't, so that's an improvement. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You pay more, you get more--the KOA. They are usually out of our price point, but there just are not many decent choices in the San Francisco area, if you want to be within 30 mins. Stayed 3 nites, rate was with taxes and 10% KOA card. Very nice park, all well groomed and maintained. Level sites, strong Wi-Fi. The 8 hr tour of San Francisco sights that originates from campground is pricey, but well worth it. Park has secluded feel, hardly any road noise. Would suggest quarter machine in laundry room and perhaps more toilets to serve main campground area (only 2 now). Overall, very pleasant and just a joy for the young ones. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are normally not a fan of KOA campgrounds, but this one is special. We had a beautiful shaded site among redwoods with plenty of space away from neighboring sites. The fenced dog area had actual grass, instead of the typical gravel and weeds, with an agility course. This is a great place for kids with playgrounds, bouncy thing, petting zoo, activities, etc. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. The laundries (and everything else) were immaculate, always a welcome experience. Of course, one pays through the nose for all this luxury, but the Bay Area ain’t cheap anywhere, so bite the bullet and enjoy. Monthly rates are available, but still pricey. Staff said they are usually pretty booked from Mother’s Day through Labor Day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Loved everything about this park except the price. It's too expensive for an RV Park. It's close to San Francisco and we did two day trips there. The playground is huge and very good. The petting zoo and the Jumping Pillow were also a hit with the kids. Shady sites, clean restrooms, paved roads and sites, grass around all sites. Also, all the staff were very friendly. Rate was for a monthly site. They run a background check for the monthlies and require your SSN. Lots of play equipment and activities for children – this KOA caters to the younger crowd. Our gravel site was slightly unlevel; pretty muddy after the rain – needs more gravel; utilities were good; space was wide and had grass and trees next to it. Lots of areas to walk but the grounds were not always clean (bits of garbage left here and there). We enjoyed the country setting and the animals. You are close to the freeway (1/2 mile) so you still hear the roar at night. Spa water was warm (not hot) and pool was unheated in March; spa closes at 7 PM. Rate is pretty high given the off-season: $765 + taxes + electricity. Not a super-friendly community or staff – most people just keep to themselves but it could be due to the weather. We were here for a month visiting relatives and as there are not many decent RV parks in the Bay Area, this was our only choice. Owner was fakey-friendly. We would stay here again for a short stay but not for a long-stay – not enough of a full-timer community. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have reviewed this campground numerous times, so will address just one issue this go-round. Considering the number of campsites in this campground, there are very few showers available. No one on precious vacation time wants to spend time waiting in long lines for a shower. This is an expensive campground and we feel they would be wise to invest a bit of their profit back into the park with more showers. And better shower heads, as the ones installed are lousy. Also the showers could be cleaner which I think would happen if they had more showers. The volume of people using them could explain why they never feel quite clean enough. We have not seen any improvements made in the years we have been coming here. Since they have a corner on the market (the only RV park in the vicinity) they get our business when we are here to visit friends and family. Oh, one afterthought. My husband reminded me how overgrown the plants and hedges are upon entry into the park. They need trimming as they tend to brush against your RV as you drive by. No RVer appreciates that. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a typical KOA family friendly park (animals, activities and Halloween decorations a nice touch), well maintained and office staff was excellent and attentive. Hookups can be challenging. Entire evening of music (loud thumping base!) was annoying. SF tour was excellent; highly recommend. Wi-Fi and cable was good. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park on a hillside with paved roads, gravel sites, and fair spacing between units. The access is quite tight. A 40 foot rig would have a tough time in our site. Trees flanking the site could be trimmed a bit. They were not a problem with our slides but will be in the future. Great access to wine country and San Francisco We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week while visiting relatives in the area. We asked for and got a 50 amp site that was satellite friendly. However the site was not level. When the space next to ours became empty we asked to be moved there even though it was only a 30 amp site. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The new site worked well for us. We will visit this park again and try to get the same site as it is probably the best site in the whole park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great campground. One of the best equipped I have stayed at. A lot of activities for kids. Took the bus tour through SF from KOA. Our driver was born and raised in SF, and was excellent. Very busy KOA (we were there on an August weekend). Lots for kids to do, nice pool, big bouncy pillow, petting zoo, movies, etc. Friendly, but busy, staff. The sites were tight, but OK. Lots of mature trees. A bit hilly, but pads were mostly level. No view to speak of. Located just north of the quaint town of Petaluma, about 30 minutes in from the coast. Would stay here again. Very expensive, nice park if you have children, adequate space for a 40' with tow/trailer, although some tight entry/exit turns. We didn't try the bathrooms, but if you are here to visit San Francisco and the Sonoma/Napa vineyards and are looking for a little peace and quiet, this is not it. Lots of children, and campers seeking an outdoor experience with fire rings next to your rig cooking and roasting marshmallows. Might be a different experience before/after the school season starts/ends or try the Vacaville RV parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in a fifth wheel, and enjoyed our stay. There is a lot for the kids to do; they have movies and an ice cream social every night. There is a pool, pillow jumping area, and a petting farm. This park is noisy with with sounds of children, fun! But once 10:00 hit the park was very quiet, nice! We saw KOA golf carts patrolling in the evening, kept the older kids (unsupervised teenagers) from totally tearing everything up. The only thing I noticed was there weren't very many bathrooms for how big the park was. We use our camper, but there are 5 of us so having showers taken else where is important, and later in the morning there was a line. I would recommend this park, and hope to stay here again if we make it back in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Convenient to Sonoma County and the San Francisco Bay area. We've stayed here before, but this is our last trip. The foliage is overgrown and I had to request that the trees in our site be trimmed before I could open up our slides. At about 7 p.m our neighbor started his generator, even though he was in a full hook-up site. At about 9:00 p.m. I called the office to complain and the staff just blew me off saying that there was no prohibition on running a generator until "quiet" hours. So paying $60 to sit in a full hook-up overgrown dirt site and listening to a generator isn't our idea of relaxation. The individual did turn the generator off prior to 10:00 p.m. and then hooked up to the electricity. There is also lack of parking controls in this park so people were allowed to park almost blocking the access roads making it difficult to navigate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second time visiting this park. There are lots of things for kids to do at this park and the park itself is very family friendly. This park is about 40 minutes north of San Francisco but it is the best park to stay at if visiting the city. They have about 48 channels but did not get the SF Giants games, which was a bummer. The campground gets very busy and noisy on the weekends. Very dog friendly. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The worst place to get to. 10 miles of slow moving traffic (mid-day not rush hour) with absolutely no where to get diesel if you have a big rig. Finally arrived at the campground which has seen better days (although the pool and shop are nice and the toilets were very clean but there does not appear to be any showers). Lots are mostly uneven, especially higher up the campground and maneuvering is difficult in many areas. Can't use the sewer hook up as they are higher that the outlet from the 5th wheel so we need to purchase a device to hold the sewer pipe in the air. HUGELY overpriced at over $90 per night but after a dreadful day of driving and trying to navigate to get here we were willing to pay almost anything. If you have a deep pocket, kids and are willing to drive to the middle of nowhere for an average experience then this is the place for you. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Would recommend this KOA as a destination vacation park! Extremely courteous and helpful staff, that were willing to assist with anything needed. Immaculate grounds and facilities, with plenty to do for any age group. Close for day trips to San Francisco, Bodega Bay and wine country. Park offers tours to local attractions right from the office! Very forested sites, that provided shade and privacy. Will definitely return for a longer stay next time! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I wanted to write about this campground because it has many bad reviews, mostly about farm odors due to it being in the country side. We stayed in a 43 foot RV, we asked for an end site due to them being larger and having a swing, and at the time there was four adults. The park is very well kept, we did not have any odors, the "end" sites are about 6 dollars more and only have 30 amps, we did not need AC so that was fine. The employees were very good to us, allowing us to remain in the HOT TUB a little after hours, the park is clean and quiet. It's expensive at $70 a night but all KOA's are expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We live very close to this place and thought it would be a great place to take the kids. We reserved a nice spot and were very pleased to be there, The kids had a great time, and this KOA is pretty nice; has a ton of activities for the kids. The downfall is the price. I'm giving this place a eight for the quality of the whole place. I would give it a 10 except for the difficulty of getting through the gate, hard turn through a narrow gate and then another hard left after that. The fact that we got 30 amps instead of 50, that we hung over at each end even though there were many longer sites available and I told the YOUNG lady how long we were. The park is really nice and well kept up. There is a nice dog run and it seemed as if the full timers I met while I was walking the dog were really nice. There are lots of things for kids here, pool, petting farm and play areas. There are even Peacocks running around. I thought the price was a tad bit high, especially for it being off-season, but I guess that goes along with it's being a KOA. Would stay again though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Never disappointed with a KOA and this one is no exception. Sites were wide and easy pull through's however, check out the site first as some require a lot for jacking to level. We had to lift our motorhome wheels off the ground. Other than that, people were very friendly and helpful. WiFi sucked, but that seems to be the norm. Stayed here for four nights. Office staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating, but were not familiar with individual sites. Most sites are not level. Trees haven't been pruned in years. Overhanging branches prevent satellite signals and make the park dark and gloomy. Some sites have cable, some do not. Some have satellite reception but not cable. Shower heads are awful. We have stayed here many times, and have previously reviewed. Noted some changes, so decided to review once again. This is the only place to stay in an RV in the SF Bay area, thus it is very pricey. Showers will do cleanliness-wise--HOWEVER, their brochure says showers are cleaned between 11 & 12, but several times they were cleaning the showers around 8 AM--prime time for people preparing for their day. Very inconvenient--BUT there are 2 shower areas, so you just have to walk to a different place. Also, there were many loose dogs, some were quite large. Some owners were just running their dogs with balls on the roadways, but some just turned them loose to do their business--and that is exactly what they did on other camper's sites. It was gross. Otherwise, on the whole, this EXPENSIVE park will do just fine! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had an extended stay at this campground due to a broken transmission but of all the places to be stranded this would be it. A very kid friendly park with many organized activities every day and a pool, petting farm, jumping pillow, and playground to keep the little ones entertained. The sites are adequately spaced and the site is treed. For a large campground it is kept very clean indeed and there are lots of staff here to ensure things run smoothly. I would have given this a 10 if it was not for the rude service on checkout which was disappointing but that would not put me off returning. It is a good base to use for visiting San Francisco which is a 45 minute drive away or you can use the tour offered by the campsite. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park is in a lovely setting but very crowded. Access and turns are very narrow for larger motorhomes. Eventhough the pull through sites are large, many are sloped because of the terrain. It would be a wonderful place if you have kids, but we don't. Lots of activities for them. We had friends come over for a BBQ. They did not use any facilities other than our RV. We stayed here one night. The rate was a water/electric only (no paved site, no cable, no sewer). We were chastised for daring check in early because our "site" was not ready--even though they parked us where the 18 sites around us were empty. Also, instead of letting pull right into an end site, they made us make extra turns (the end sites were empty). The restrooms and shower were not clean (even right after "cleaning hour"). Lots of stuff here for kids, and seeing the peacock walking past the RV first thing in the morning was fun. A tour of San Francisco leaves from the KOA. We would most likely stay somewhere else. Our nightly rate reflects an off-season monthly discount as we stayed here for almost 2 months while we sold our house. It was a great place to stay, although they were remodeling the pool area. They finished right when we were leaving, & it is quite nice - a large heated pool with a jacuzzi. We were in a shady area, not paved, but level and quiet and never any loud campers around us. The petting zoo & peacocks are simply charming, and I never smelled any foul barnyard odors during the spring months we were there. We do not have kids, but it is very kid friendly, & the weekends can get loud with the screams of kids playing in the pool & jumping pillow. We will stay there again for sure. If you grew up on a family farm with a herd of cattle, sheep, goats and chickens this place will bring back memories. The same barnyard aroma and accompanying flying pests go right along with the animals. This KOA has pens near the office with goats, sheep and chickens for the campers to get close to along with a heard of sheep in a small pasture next to the entrance road. Not connected to the KOA but all along two sides of this large park is pasture land for a couple of herds of cattle who make themselves known. The first three days it was in the 80’s and the aroma got pretty ripe with lots of flies. Our last three days were cool, cloudy and wet. No smell or flies. So plan your stop here when it is cool. The park has nice facilities, a large dog park with many paved pull through sites in the short term area of the south half of the park. Leveling may be a challenge as the park is built on a rolling hillside and even when they try hard to grade the sites there is a still lot of slope to work with. The staff is friendly and the highway is far enough away so it isn’t noticeable. We came here for the wine country and the location worked out well. If the park were an island I would give it an 8 or 9. But as a destination park for the enjoyment of a family the surroundings do not make it enjoyable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Unlike some of the other reviews, we did not have a problem with flies. It did smell like fertilizer the first night we checked in; however, it smelled at the exit ramp also so it may be the area, not the campground. The campground is quite lovely with large pine trees and a very woodsy feel. Unlike most KOA's we've stayed at (which my husband thinks stands for Kamping on the Autobahn!) it was very quiet. I wish I had questioned them about their rates because looking at the other reviews, there seems to be quite a spread. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Sites heavily treed; we had site number 180 (most sites in that row can accommodate larger RVs). Used this park as a base for San Francisco and Napa. Would not have stayed here except there is not much in the area for larger MHs (we have 43' with a tow). Was comforted to find other similar MHs here when we were, also. This is a nice but very busy park. We had a premium site that was right across from the rec hall which is busy until 10pm. If you don't like alot of noise and kids running through your site then get a gravel site away from the rec hall. Our site wasn't level but the hookups worked fine. The staff at the park was fantastic and there plenty of activities, including the San Francisco tour that we highly recommend. The price was high but that's pretty typical of KOA. This is a great KOA. If you have children: this place has so many things to keep them busy all day. They have 2 different areas to watch movies, 2 kinds of bikes to rent, a petting zoo, shuffle board and much more. There's a lot of trees for shade. They have some paved spaces and some that aren't. We found it expensive, crowded, and noisy. This place was a nightmare for us. It was our first experience camping at a KOA campground. We didn't have reservations and were desperate for a place to stay and this was the only place we could find. This is definitely not our idea of camping. There is not much privacy here. There were lots of rental RV's. We couldn't wait to get out of there and left as soon as we woke up! They put us next to the "rec room," and we woke to sounds of a hockey table and techno music. It was camping hell for us. We like nature and solitude not camping next to an arcade in a suburban setting. The only good thing about this place for us was the full hook-ups. In our opinion, it was also pricey for what we got. Next time we'd rather stay in hotel for that price! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at the Petaluma KOA for 10 nights to be able to tour the areas around the park. We were placed in space 249 which has Kamp Kabins on two sides. These cabins were continually filled with loud, rude people who have no clue what "campground ediquet" is. Twice, I had to walk down to the office to find the security after 11:30pm to have them come and tell the partiers to quiet down. These rude people left trash around like they were home and made the whole experience poor. Not to mention the bicycles, scooters and other toys used by the kids to entertain the parents all day long. Good park if you're not into peace and quiet and like kids running around all day; otherwise look somewhere else. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The public road to the entrance is in need of repair and the KOA road has three speed bumps that will rearrange your cabinets if you're not careful. Good location for touring San Francisco and the wine region. Good facilities for kids, a great playground. The San Francisco Tour is good if a little pricey. Downsides: totally inadequate number of showers, always a long line morning and evening, even on the quieter weekdays. Restrooms could have been a lot cleaner, and generally need updating and better ventilation. We had an experience at the pool that raised serious questions regarding the hygiene awareness/training of the management/staff at this campground. While swimming in the pool we noticed at least two pieces of human fecal matter in the pool. My husband immediately reported this to staff. We waited to see what action would be taken, fully expecting the pool to be closed while this problem was being dealt with. Nothing happened for a full fifteen minutes: children continued to swim in the pool, unaware of the situation. Then a worker appeared and scooped the excrement out of the pool, disposed of it, and left the area. After a few minutes it became clear that the KOA had no intentions of closing and disinfecting the pool, at this point we alerted any remaining families in the pool as to what we had witnessed. We then approached staff again to express our serious concern that the pool had not been closed to properly deal with the situation. Within 10 minutes of our second approach the pool was closed. Staff were not particularly friendly or efficient during our stay, we had great difficulty getting propane one morning, it took three attempts on our part before staff managed to locate someone to fill our tank (this was within normal hours). This campground is doing very well, however maybe they are taking their customers a little for granted? It is very unlikely we would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This was the only park near San Fran so not by choice we had to stay. We felt like we were headed into a maximum security holding. The park was pricey all ready let alone the fact that they nickeled & dimed you for every family activity they provided. The park was cramped, unkept, & full of locals wanting to party. We wanted to stay longer here, because it is good location to San Francisco, the Sonoma and Napa Valley. We left after 1 day. They have the DJ at the pool, kids with their bikes, skateboard and scooters running up and down the street next to our trailer. We were looking for a relaxing place. The restrooms are generally clean and the staff works hard to keep them clean. The price is a little high and they now have a very unfriendly $10 per day per person visit fee. The rate includes the $5 per child per night fee that KOA typically charges. The campsites and entry to the park are not big rig friendly. After investing 30 minutes maneuvering into our site, our 5th wheel had only inches between trees, tree branches and the utility post. The office/camp store staff was made up of young folk that for the most part didn't know much. They were moderately friendly to us, but several folk mentioned rude treatment. While we like friendly people, our rating is influenced by value for the dollar. This is the most expensive park we've used except for WDW Fort Wilderness. Apparently, they are able to keep these exhorbitant prices due to the proximity to San Franscisco. The park has a long way to go to justify the prices. Whereas WDW also has expensive prices, the sites are or have been upgraded to fit the larger RVs and the restroom/shower facilities were immaculate. This KOA swimming pool was nasty with dirty diapers/swim pants left on the pool deck. The restroom/shower facilities are very old. Our kids did enjoy visiting the petting farm which had five new baby goats. We also scheduled the tour of S.F., which was pricey but the guide was excellent. Internet access worked fine. We did not use the laundry facilities due to overcrowding. We were barraged by irritating, loud, repetitive music from the arcade every night. The machines were apparently turned off for quiet hours, but we couldn't wait to get away from the noise. The rec hall also had some type of kareoke night with the volume pumped up like a rock concert. We did not enjoy listening to everyone that participated and were not able to listen to our own music or TV in our RV. We will not stay here again, even if it means we must drive further to visit S.F. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rest rooms need re-conditioning. They are getting old and need sprucing up. Dark and dingy and need more lighting. If one has children, this is a great park, but if its just you and the spouse, it can be very loud with children programs and karaoke singing until 9:30 p.m. Prices quite high compared to so many other comparable parks. This is a very nice KOA park near the freeway and close to San Francisco. They have nice wooded sites, and the park is very clean. Although close to the freeway, the park is very quiet. This Campground, unfortunately is terrible. I don't have anything against the view or anything, but management is completely rude to their clients. Especially if they are young, managment treats them like they are not worth their time, money or just respect. That's the word, completely disrespectul, and close minded. They do not train their employees with accurate information, so the customer has pay the consequences. This is the worst experience that I, or my family have been through. If you want to be treated like a human being who deserves some respect, please don't come here. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Had my husband not had the huge misfortune to suffer a heart attack while staying at this campground, I would have been inclined to give it a "thumbs up" in terms of the hook-ups and facilities. However, the manager came banging on our door soon after my husband came back from receiving an emergency angioplasty w/stents from the local hospital. He wanted us to take care of the bill and vacate asap! My husband was in no shape to drive as he was not released from the doctor. But we were left with no other option as I couldn't drive the motorhome. Hopefully, the unexpected does not happen to you if you are at this park. They were neither helpful nor understanding! My husband was only in his mid-forties and it was not like we planned this to happen! I guess the ambulance showing up was bad for business. They just wanted us out of here! We spent one night here after getting our motorhome set up for towing at a nearby dealership. We arrived after dark with 3 miles of towing experience, so we were a bit anxious. The staff at check in was helpful and encouraging, assuring us that we could maneuver to our site with no trouble. And, we did. The site was level with plenty of room. Setup was a snap. Wi-fi, while the arrangement was a bit funky, was fine for us. Satellite was out of the question with all the trees, but cable was fine. Neither highway noise nor farm smell was too bad -- but, that's life in Petaluma! This is a handy spot for exploring the Bay Area. Though, as area residents, we would strongly encourage taking advantage of a tour from here or drive to the ferry in Larkspur to enjoy a day of sightseeing in San Francisco. If you are from out of town and want to see San Francisco, this spot is on our "recommended" list. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is a real challenge for a 40' with a tow. The roads are very narrow, and the sites are tight and not level at all. Good luck if you want your satellite channels as there are huge trees throughout. In addition, it is very confusing (especially at night; it is pitch dark.) They should at least care enough to have an escort available to get you to your site. Not a well-kept park, and did I mention how dark it is? Yikes! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Large park but very quiet. It was pretty busy while we were there, since there are few parks in the area. Some "residents" but they keep their sites and rigs well maintained. There are a few park cats, which my dog thought were meant for him, and a few park peacocks and peahens that he didn't know what to do with. We were there over Halloween and received quite a few trick-or-treaters who were very polite and thankful. They didn't knock on closed doors unless they saw you moving around. I didn't love the internet access. It wasn't very fast and they are sticklers about you not using too much download/upload time. I was cut off without warning which was a hassle. We work on the road, so internet is important. This is a problem we run in to in a lot of parks, so this one isn't in the minority. It's just annoying. All in all, I would recommend and I would return. We've stayed at several KOA's throughout the country and this one was quite fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best campgrounds in Northern California. The staff was helpful and friendly. The activities for the kids were varied and fun. The restrooms were very clean. This is a high-energy park with lots of activity. Furthermore, it is located in the center of one of the most vibrant family vacation spots in America. Expect to pay for the best. You'll pay much less in the middle of Kansas, but the Pacific Ocean is much further away. We will return to this first-rate campground many times. One of the many positive features of this park are the many large, beautiful trees which provide shade and atmosphere. Finally, we took the campground's tour of San Francisco. It was wonderful and led by a knowledgeable and skillful tour guide. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent for family camping. They offer a petting zoo, pool, hot tub & sauna, arcade room, pet agility area and many different activities throughout the day including tours. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again. The RV sites are not very level at least ours was not. Mostly dirt base with little rock but if you can level your own vehicle and want a good old fashion feel of camping with today comfort, this place is great! Fire pits are offered and there is plenty of shade. Has to be one of the best KOAs we have seen thus far. Not to mention only 40 mile from the big city of San Francisco. This is probably great if you're camping with kids (the price is based on up to 8 people) but at nearly $60 a night for two adults, we felt it was poor value and not what we have come to expect from a KOA. The staff in reception were friendly enough, but all very young and (I felt) devoid of any practical RV'ing experience. No-one showed us to our site, their site map is confusing and the compass rose is wrong so complicates lining up your satellite. (I wish I had looked at the imagery on Google Earth as part of my research as then I would have seen all the trees, too). Although I had specifically asked for a satellite-friendly site (i.e. one where we can point our roof-mounted dish at a patch of unobstructed south-facing sky), we were unable to get a signal at either of the two they offered us. Another review I read mentioned the trees being adequately trimmed - I don’t agree, we had difficulty avoiding overhanging branches, the turns are tight and the spaces are too short to leave your tow vehicle hooked up, which defeats the object of having a pull-through. They must be doing something right as they claim to be full every weekend, but I don’t think we would go there again… We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful RV park. It is a nice quiet campground with much to offer. Convenient to all Bay Area attractions. Has one small shower building near the office (waiting line there!), but a larger shower building in the center of the park (no waiting there!) We lived near near here for many years, and will always stay in this park when visiting family and friends. City kids will love all the farm animals here--Cows, sheep, burros, chickens, and more! We camped Wednesday through Saturday night. Rate was $53.75 weeknight and $60.00 weekend plus $5/night for each person after the first two. Before tax and KOA discount, we paid an average of $67.50 per night for four people. This KOA was completely filled during the weekend with overflow RV's parking in the dry camping area. Anywhere near the pool, office, rec room, playground, or bathrooms was very busy with people and kids. Even if you are used to KOA camping, this place is busy. I'd stay away from sites 129-180 to avoid the crowds. Some of these sites are a few feet away from the busy bathroom or rec room and you will have people walking through your space. With all that said, we enjoyed our stay. There was plenty for our kids to do (great petting zoo, nice pool, new playground equipment, craft projects ($4-8), ice cream socials, live exotic animal show on Saturday evening (fantastic but crowded and hard to hear), hay ride, bike rentals, etc). Site was level dirt with plenty of shade trees. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Hookups were OK except the sewer connection was 10-12 inches above grade so there is little downhill "flow" from your tanks. Bathrooms were OK, acceptable and clean but not great. You may have to wait to use the bathroom due to the crowds. There is little selection of real campgrounds in the San Francisco bay area and so far this is the best we've found. Everything else is nothing but an asphalt parking lot. San Francisco or Oakland are both about 45 minutes away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a decent RV park if you don't mind being fairly close to the freeway and Bay Area crowds. The park itself is nice - lots of redwood trees and other large trees for shade and privacy. This was our first time staying at this facility and we really enjoyed it. We stayed at the "old campsite" which is dirt-paved and is surrounded by nice redwood trees which gives off the aurora of being out in the woods vs. in a parking lot. Each campsite has a fire ring and a bench. This is a really nice campsite for families - there is a relatively new playground, activities like face-painting and hula hooping, a petting area (donkeys, goats, rooster and duck) and on the perimeter of the campsite there are cows and sheep. The pool was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The roads were nice and wide - our daughter even learned how to ride her bike there. I would say the only downside of this campground is the smell - we always felt like we may have accidentally stepped into something, but it was bearable and expected based on previous reviews. We plan on returning for memorial day weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a premium pull through site with full hook ups. Grounds were clean and well kept. Sites were large, though the site we had was not level, so we had to do some leveling with our trailer. We were charged an extra 10.00 at check in because we wanted to be next to our friends. That charge is not advertised, so we were not happy about being blindsided with an extra charge. The office did not volunteer the info, we had to ask why the extra charge. Gentlemen in office was abrupt, not real friendly. Since it was off season park was not busy so we were surprised about the charge. Very clean restrooms and showers. Very quiet but that could have been due to fact that campground was not busy. No activities when we went, so price was pretty high. Maybe it should be lower in off season and higher in summer when they have activities. Store was well stocked and neat. This was our second visit to this campground. We really like the woodsy setting, with large pine trees, grass, and farm animals roaming the boundary of the campground. The sites are plenty long and wide. There is a pool (unheated in the winter), spa, well-stocked store, petting zoo, bike rentals, new playground, and plenty of activities in the summer (ice cream socials, pancake breakfasts, movie nights, hay rides, crafts, etc.). The campground is very clean. You have the choice of more rustic sites with gravel, dirt, grass and trees or with asphalt/concrete, grass and trees. There is lots to do nearby, including Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (Marine World), San Francisco, Historic Petaluma, the wine country, and more. The only things I could possibly complain about are the price (we paid $60/night over spring break 2008 [includes 2 extra people] and nearly $70 in the summar of 2007) and the cows which can get a bit smelly in the summer. The price is the only drawback. The staff was very friendly and very polite. They invited us to their New Year's Eve Party, and introduced us and our children around (even though we only stayed two nights). About 1/3 of the park is people who are there on a permanent/regular basis and the rest are short-timers. The pool was closed but the hot tub was great. They had shuffleboard, a wonderful playground for the kids, and even had a place to pet the animals from the neighboring farm. The sites weren't bad, each was a patch of grass with a fire pit, picnic table and a couple of trees. The whole place was kept up quite well and everything was clean. The price was per night with 30 amp/water/sewer hook-up on a paved pull through site with two adults and three kids (1 free). We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pleasant park that appears to be family oriented. Shady, narrow tree lined roads make moving 38' rigs or bigger a bit interesting. Staff in the office was not particularily pleasant or helpfull. The morning after our arrival home from staying at this park we glanced out our window and saw that roof of the RV was covered with red debris that looked like it had come from the dead tree limbs above our site. This stain did not wash off and required compounding and rewaxing. It took 2 weeks to finally talk to the manager (after leaving numerous messages with his staff)to see what could be done about this problem. We were told to bring the RV back to them and they would see if they could do anything. Too far away for us, so we declined. If you stay at this park, we would suggest that you check the health of the trees above your campsite before pulling in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here on a weekend, major mistake for retired people trying to avoid children. They're about 50 miles from a huge population center and taking advantage of it. This park is designed with kids in mind -- petting zoo, swimming pools, tent meeting rooms, etc. City kids on the lose, and who can blame them for being excited? For the rest of us, the dumpsters weren't emptied nearly often enough and there was no place to put garbage; the dog walk area was too far away from most of the park. I would try this park again during the week, but this area probably doesn't have an off season. I had a black water accident and the staff couldn't have been nicer and wouldn't accept a gratuity. There is little to find fault with at this KOA. Maintenance was busy while we were there. They were actually leveling sites! We saw them raking leaves and the park looked great. They have different areas for people who wish to use a satellite dish, but most of the park is huge trees. They offer cable and wifi, so we took that. We also took the San Francisco Tour from the park and had a wonderful time. They have a petting zoo and although the kids must love this, at times the wind does blow the wrong way. Most KOA's are parking lots but this one was actually pretty nice. The sites are paved but no grass. There are all kind of activities for kids including a petting zoo. They also offer tours to the city directly from the campground. The WiFi was another issue. It hardly ever worked at the site. It has been a real problem with campgrounds that advertise WiFi but you have to almost sit in the office to pick up the signal. I wish they were more honest about the WiFi. We stayed here because of its location to San Francisco. We did find a great dogie daycare/boarding called Fit N' Furry that was also open on Sunday so we were able to drop the dogs off, go into the city for a whole day and then also do a wine tour on Sunday without worrying about the dogs. Even though most campgrounds say "pet friendly" most of the rules include not leaving them in the motorhome alone so dog day care has been necessary for us when we are going to be gone for the whole day. First I have to say that this is the only park we saw that was half way decent in the San Francisco area, but having said that it still isn't the best park we have ever been to. The in and out gates are awkward and somewhat hard to maneuver. There are too many nit picky rules. Extra car has to be parked out front before you come in the gate. This price only includes two adults. Extra people are $7 a day. You can't park on the grass but for the life of me I couldn't find any grass on our site. Only dirt. We stayed here one night after picking up our new fifth wheel. The place was very hectic but if you ask, they will try to put you in a site away from the pool, game room, etc. The sites were tight with low hanging branches. I would definitely recommend the San Francisco North/Petaluma KOA. It has everything. The campsites just below the store are the best – they seem very rustic with dirt and large redwood trees. The sites are pull-throughs and plenty big (we are 51' long when hooked up and we fit in our site without any problem), with lots of room for a picnic table and fire ring. On Tuesdays, they rake and hose down the sites, so they keep the grounds very clean. The pool is huge and not too cold. They also have a game room, two laundry rooms, a petting zoo, a wonderful playground, and also open space with cows, donkeys, and sheep. In the summer, they have activities planned throughout the day. On weekends, they have a country breakfast, coffee cart, live music at the pool, water slide, and several craft activities. Every day, they have a scavenger hunt, hay ride, ice cream social, bike (quad and banana) rentals, and kid and adult movies in the evenings. They also have a bus tour you can take if you want to see the SF sites. Historic Petaluma is nearby and there is also a small outlet mall if you want to escape for the day. The only drawbacks about this campground are the price ($60 per night for four people) and the nearby cows can be a little smelly if the wind is blowing in the right direction. We've loved it and will definitely be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

At first I balked at the price but decided that it was convenient to Highway 101 and to our plans, so I reserved two nights. Staff efficient and friendly. We asked to be away from the pool and petting zoo. It was fairly quiet. The location is the best feature for me: close to San Francisco, Sonoma and Napa Valleys, Bodega Bay. There were a lot of employees cleaning, pruning and asking if we needed anything. Restrooms/showers okay. The family from Indiana in the site next to us took the offered tour to San Francisco and said it was wonderful. What can I say about this place? It was busy and noisy when we were here, but there was a bundle of things for the kids to do. Most people use this place as a base for watching the car races or sightseeing in San Francisco or Napa/Sonoma Valley wineries. We came to do all of the above, but also to experience a full-tilt, destination-style KOA. It didn't disappoint as far as kid-fun activities (petting farm with baby goats to cuddle, big pool, hay rides, ice cream socials, pancake breakfast) and it probably had the best playground I've ever seen in my whole life. It was appropriate for ages 1-11. (I think I saw 14 year olds having a blast on the older kid play structure.) Some sites are nicer than others. We got a site close to the bathrooms and the Rec Hall. There are pros and cons to that. The Pro is that you're near all the action and don't have to walk miles. Cons: it's a bit noisy and people constantly cut through your campsite. I would have prefered a site further away from that area, but my kids and husband liked that area, so I guess you can't please everyone. The staff ran that place like a well-oiled machine. (Check-in was, like, 30 seconds! Maybe less!) Everyone was helpful and all smiles. It's a pricey place, but I think it's well-worth the money if you need a place to stay in the area with kids. We spoke to our neighbors at this RV Park and they come back here every year. No kids and they love it, too. I'd love to come back here one day. One note to those with hay fever or seasonal allergies: bring some Claritin. Our allergies went wild here, (what with all the animals and grass). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is good for families and group gatherings, as it is very kid-friendly and many large groups were setup across multiple sites and/or cabins. There were too few bathrooms given the number of people and they were only cleaned once a day. I don't plan on returning since there are other choices in the area and I prefer a more adult-friendly setting and cleaner facilities. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are a little close together and not as level as we'd like. Even with blocks, we weren't able to level out the coach without lifting wheels off the ground. Not all posts had 50 amp but it doesn't get too hot or too cold here so not an issue. Good water pressure and taste. Most sites are very shaded limiting dish use. Good basic cable, though. Good storage facility if that's a consideration. Almost 35 miles from Golden Gate and 30 miles from Napa but traffic moves pretty well here outside rush hours on freeway. Nice people. Very busy place - would recommend reservations. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground for 3 nights. Extra person fee (2 Adults+) $5/night, a little steep, but after we saw how much there was for the kids to due, it paid for itself. The kids had so much fun they wanted to stay at the campground and not tour the area. We registered for what to turned out to be a fantastic tour of San Francisco (fee) that left right from the campground each morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. WIFI connection was excellent from our site. We where in the back area behind the rec. hall. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really like this park about 2 hours from home. This was our third visit. It costs more than some other parks but that was probably the reason we were able to reserve 4th of July weekend with only a couple weeks notice. Our spacious and quiet site (#55) was in the "E" row redwoods section. At first they offered us a noisy site next to the water pump and activites tent. $10 extra to reserve a specific site. "Free" Wi-Fi worked well. The weather was perfect! The fog burned off by 9am with afternoon temperature right around 80. Inland just a bit more and you're getting into the 90s. About 30 minutes away is Pt. Reyes National Seashore. A nice hike there is the Bear Valley Trail (easy 4 miles each way to the coast through the trees), starting at the visitor center. You might also want to visit "Snoopy's Home Ice" arena in nearby Santa Rosa with its Charles Schultz cartoon museum. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this park to be very nice. To respond to some of the earlier criticisms, there are lots of trees, but appear to be well trimmed--we had no problem with trees scraping our fifth wheel and there were lots of big rigs staying here. The sites are shady and of ample room. We didn't feel like we were looking into the unit next to us. The sewer hookups were very new looking pvc type openings that our hose fit in perfectly. It's a beautiful, rural park that is a destination RV resort, chock-full of activities, including sheep and goats in a petting zoo, a pool, a great rec room, nightly movies, etc. None of that mattered to us since we were there to sightsee, but may account for the expensive rates. That, along with the cost of CA real estate, of course. We haven't found any bargains anywhere in California! There were lots of children here so if you're an isolationist, stay at a state park. We were not bothered by noise and enjoyed being awakened by birdsong every morning. Cable TV is included in the rates and we had GREAT free wi-fi. Typical of KOAs, it's got lots of workampers so you never know what the staff might be like, but we found them all to be helpful. It's a great park and we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

KOA is quite proud of this campground and charged us $54.88 for one nights stay. The only game in town and they knew it. We were also rewarded with the foulest barnyard odor we have ever had to camp with. From the time we first arrived and opened the truck door until we left the stench was overwhelming. Ahh, the joys of camping downwind from the cattle barns and feedlots. The sites were on dirt and gravel. The trees, as previously mentioned, were trimmed back so they are not a problem if you are observant. The sewer hookups were old rusted pipe. The threads were gone so proper connections were not possible. To enter the campground after you register, you must go through a gate controlled by a keypad. This was very inconvenient and impossible to work from inside your RV. All in all, not a pleasant experience. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like the never-ending smell of fresh cow manure (this place is downwind from a large dairy), sites that are not level and lack of basic WiFi service near the high-tech capital of the world, this is the place for you. Over-priced for a rather mediocre facility. Unfortunately, the choices in the San Francisco Bay Area are rather limited and this is the best of the lot. We stay there because of necessity, not choice, during our periodic trips to SF. Grin and bear it and look forward to moving on in a few days. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park close to San Francisco and wine country. The staff was very friendly. Some of the sites are close together but there are trees and grass as well as firepits. The campground is hilly and some sites are up the hill. The sites are surrounded by kamping kabins. There is a large room for groups. There are farm animals on the premises. We did not notice traffic noise. The only problem we had was knowing where to stop for registration. The signage isn't good. There is a security gate and you must have a code to get into the sites. You cannot reach the device to punch in the code from inside a motorhome. However, the gate doesn't go down until you drive through. I understand it can get rather noisy on holiday weekends because of all the kabins and extra people there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Prior comments about the trees needing trimming is correct. Easy to damage your rig if you are not very carefull. LOOK UP. They could easily remedy this problem but do not. Some of the sites are muddy when it rains. They need to put some gravel in. With the prices they charge they should be able to afford it. Trim trees, add gravel and this park could be 9 or 10. Having said that it is a conveniently located park that is quiet at night after everyone settles down. They have modem hook up at your site (not all) which is convenient. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park, lots of trees if you like shade. We have a Direcway Satellite dish and need to
be out in the open. Ask for Site 238 if you need satellite. The park does a fantastic sightseeing day trip to San Francisco. Starts in June until ? Book early as it sells out. It is well worth the money. Great place for visiting Sonoma and the Napa Valley. Would stay here again (if I could get this site) We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Trees are a factor, especially for big rigs. While they have done extensive pruning since our last visit, there still remains a lot of trees to scratch the MH. Lots of pull through sites. Overall this is a good place to visit wine country and San Francisco. RV Park has tours to both. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of those campgrounds that, because it has little or no competition near a major draw (San Francisco) treats its guests lousy, charges way too much, and does not maintain (overhead limbs, unclean, etc.) as it should. I would definitely seek a space somewhere else if you have a big rig, and commute to the area. If I were with Trailer Life or Woodalls, I would rate this place as 5-5-5 and two stars. This was a definite rip-off. The site we were given only had electric & water. The site
was so narrow, our slides almost hit the ground that sloped on the side of the site. We were in a pull-through but had to back out because of so many tree branches that would have scratched our motorhome. The site was muddy. The entry gate is poorly situated & makes it difficult to enter with anything longer than 36'. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a disappointment. Firstly, we made reservations far in advance and specified a 50-amp site. When we got there, they put us in a 30 amp and said they had "very, very few 50-amp sites." Why didn't they tell us when we reserved the space?
Secondly, the gate into the campground is so badly misplaced that you simply cannot turn with a toad behind your motorhome. Thirdly, they do not believe in
trimming tree limbs or branches. I'm still repairing scratches from my visit. Fourthly, the park is overpriced and overcrowded. Fifthly, we signed up for a tour of San Francisco and was told it would be by large bus. The day of the tour, they put us all in a small van that was overcrowded and miserable. Sixthly, the only modem connection in this huge campground is in the office and you must stand up to use it. Seventhly, this place is a ripoff because it is the only park in the area. Don't go here. Find somewhere else. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice layout, most sites paved some are gravel. The park is situated on some low rolling hills, walking in the park does involve some uphill walks (may not be advisable for folks with heart or respiratory problems). Most restrooms were locked with signs directing you to Recreation Hall, a park map was not provided until we asked for it to find the restrooms. The staff was friendly but not particularly helpful. Our stay in early October was marred by the stench of raw sewage that was evident throughout the park. We could not identify the source, but it made for very unpleasant times trying to walk our dogs. The park map noted that 14 days was the maximum stay, but more than a few sites appeared to have long term residents with multiple vehicles, and worn recreational vehicles. We camped here in a camper.

Campground was very clean and well maintained. Lots of activities for kids (petting zoo, hayrides, face painting, rock climbing). Tours of wine country and San Francisco available. Lots of trees, couldn't use satellite dish. Paid $45.00 (holiday rate) for electric and water only. No cable TV or sewer. A bit pricey. Friday and Saturday nights activities (karoke & music bands) up to 11:00 pm. Only game in town if you want to stay anywhere close to San Francisco. We camped here in a camper.

Only drawback for motorhomes is that the park owner does not believe in trimming trees. The park has many trees and some make it difficult to park. We did not use the public facilities but friends who were camping at the park at the same time said they were very nice but not sufficiently numerous for the number of people in the park. This is a huge campground with all kinds of camping facilities. It's 35 miles north of San Franciscso. We camped here in a camper.

This was a small dirt lot in the middle of a very pretty fairgrounds. It looked like you would use this yard for auto salvage. It was ugly, fencing around the lot was ugly, and we felt like we were staying in a prison yard. It was so ugly: torn up grass, chopped up asphalt, weeds, no definition to the site spaces, ugly fencing, we left the next day. Wish we could show you the photo. No effort has been made to make this RV spot desirable for anybody. The opening to the lot was narrow, we barely made it through with our 40 foot motorhome. The lot was difficult to find in the fairgrounds itself. We would NOT stay here again. Move onto the next fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, just up the road, which has a very similar name, much better place to stay! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Average facility as fairgrounds go. RV area is off to the side of the fairgrounds. There is gated access at night. Stock car races Sat night but ends around 10 - not a real issue. There is some traffic noise. There is an attendant in the area nights. Parking lot is mostly rock / gravel. They take credit card payments. We were the only RV in the park area. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
