Loved this park. Just took it by chance when we saw that they had paved streets and paved sites. A few sites are out of the trees where we could get dish TV. They had cable, but it was limited. People are very nice. Our price was Passport America. We ended up staying three nights. If going to this park do not follow GPS. Go in off 139 at Eagle Lake Rd to, I think it was Stoddard, and drive to the end and turn right. The west side of the lake is pretty but quite windy. Nice for a day ride. Would and will stay here again. Nice view of this the second largest natural lake in California, and known for rainbow trout. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All i have to say is the campground was very clean and nice. However the drive from Susanvile to the campground is very FAR about 40 miles or so. Very COLD in the mornings so bring an extra blanket. Overall very nice. We camped here in a Tent.

If you like to fish, this is the place for you! It's quite secluded and well off the beaten path. The park is well-maintained and it is very apparent the owners take care of the park. They are in the process of upgrading many of the larger sites to 50 amp. It was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Four deer wandered wherever they wanted, including through our site: wonderful! Although that did drive our black lab crazy! Staff was friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is way out there by Eagle Lake, not in Susanville. Park is clean, and stall is friendly.The squirrels are fun to watch; they keep you entertained! Great fishing location. If want peace and quiet this is the place! It is serene. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly staff. View of Eagle Lake. Area caters to the fishermen who come from all over. Since we were there only for two days, ended up in small, narrow site. Good thing we don't have slides on our trailer. We were down near the long term that had kids and barking dogs. If we come this way again, would consider staying again. We stayed on Passport America rates. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This place is awesome. The campground/park is actually located about 25 miles north of Susanville in the Spaulding area on the west side of the lake. It is separated from the lake by an airstrip and bird habitat but has great views of the lake, bald eagles and osprey nests nearby. We stayed the week of the trout opener over Memorial Day. Fishing was excellent. There is a large area for storing your boat trailer on the property and the marina is about a quarter mile away. There is a general store with the typical stuff you might need as well as LPG, gas and diesel fuel. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is family oriented and pet friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The rate reflects a 10% AAA/Good Sam discount. Each site has full hook-ups with cable. There are two playgrounds, a small of-leash dog area, tent sites, some very nice permanent sites, horseshoe pits, boat dock, restaurant, lounge and a store. Verizon (phone and data) is pretty good. There is very friendly staff. We would definitely come here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park would be great if all you wanted to do is fish Eagle Lake. No other activities in the area. The sights are dirt/gravel with pine trees as shade. The sights are relatively level and did not appear to have a lot of "big rig" sites. I thought Trailer Life's rating was a bit generous considering you only have a partial view of the lake. There is a nice restaurant on site and WIFI is available at a fee of around $5.00 per day. Cell phone service is non existent if you have Verizon as it is an Analog only area. The park is located 35 miles north of Susanville at an elevation of 5000 plus feet. Hwy 139 is a good, although somewhat narrow, highway which rises to 5400+ feet with a 6% winding grade before Susanville heading south. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful RV park right across the street from Eagle Lake on the west shore in the Spaulding Tract. Most sites have a view of the lake. Each site is paved, wide, and has shade from tall pines. They also offer camping cabins and have an open tent area. Nice but small rec room with ping pong, video games, soda machine and a pool table. Clean restrooms with free showers. Satellite TV hook-up only offers about ten channels. Camp store has soft-serve ice cream, fishing tackle, a few groceries, lots of alcohol and mixers (wink) and the friendliest employees ever! Store also offers propane and gas. Launch ramp is about one half mile up the road. They offer boat slips and a place to park your boat trailer. Many fishing guides in the area. Trout are 14-16 inches long and folks were catching their limit. Lots of great places to ride bikes or walk your dog. Not much for the little kids. No real playground, only two swings and no swimming pool. Extremely quiet at night. Deer come right to your site and eat from your hand. This place may not have everything for everybody but it was a ten for us. We loved it and have made our reservation for next summer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our 3rd time at this NPS campground. There were other people there that we had met last year, too, so we aren't the only ones who come back here. It's like coming home. We love it!!! Once again we stayed in a loop with full hookups and as they had in the past, everything worked as expected. We were in site #6 this time and leveling wasn't difficult, although it took most of my Lynx leveling blocks. Basically just had to raise the rear. Wi-Fi was available at the campground host's site. AT&T and Verizon (air card) worked well here. There is a paved bike path that goes about 2.5 miles each direction out of the campground. Westbound, the path ends at another campground and eastbound it ends at the marina and store. Nice easy level walk or ride. The campground hosts are terrific. Delivered firewood to my site and at $5.00 per bundle, it was a real bargain! We'll come back next year if the stars are lined up correctly! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground on Eagle Lake. We stayed in a non-hookup site nearer the water, but it looked as though most had power/water. The sites are huge. What really was bizarre is that the restrooms did not have showers - bizarre. The beach was nice, but no formal trails to the beach. The water is very shallow so fishing without a boat isn't really feasible. The dump is across the street. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Terrific campground! Second time there and will return. Had full hookups in site #10. All paved roads and sites. Camp host was great. Brought firewood to our site when we needed it. (Reasonably priced, too.) Rate reflects Senior Pass. Wi-Fi was available at host's site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great family camp. It is clean, quiet and without exception full of courteous and respectful campers. The camp hosts are quite adept at keeping the place orderly and organized. This is not a place for the rowdy or party crowd. There are lots of families with children, older adults and lots of activity during the day and quiet at night. It is a special place and you have people there who have camped every year for many, many years. It is a step back in time as far as the camping goes to that "better place" we all talk about when camping was innocent, not real crowded and just fun. There is a nice beach area (no real sand), bike and walking trails. There is a store close by at the Marina should you need a staple item or you can drive to Susanville and restock. We plan to repeat this experience again next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Merrill Campground is the only one with full hook ups (W & E & S) on the south shore. We received a $10 rate discount, per day, with our National Park Senior Card. Sites are asphalt, some level some not. Picnic table, fire ring are included. The pull-through sites have hook ups for two RV's. No TV reception, but the Campground Host had free WiFi at his site, and firewood for $5 a bundle. Showers are at the Marina, tokens give you six-minutes for $2. Best to gas up in Susanville, as it's a bit expensive at the Lake. Fishing is the thing to do here, but there is an Osprey nest viewing area, with binoculars, near the Ronald McDonald House. You have to hike up the hill a short distance, but there was a baby Osprey in the nest when we were here. Family camping, with a five mile bike trail from Cristie Campground to the Marina. We stayed four nights and had a great time! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very crowded with families but not noisy. Hosts kept good control. Great access to the Lake and swimming, fishing, sunbathing. The trail is great for biking and walking. I recommend this campground in the fall when its not so crowded. The Reserveamerica website is not very user-friendly. We were unable to get reservations but did get 1st come site. Also have great campground - Eagle, just down the road but no hookups. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a Lassen National Forest campground located at the southern shore of Eagle lake. Sites are level, shaded and paved, with the best ones having 15 amp, water & sewer. Flush toilets, but showers are located at Marina (3 miles away) where you buy tokens. Fire pits, family campground. Susanville is 15 miles away, so it's mainly fishing and relaxing here. There is a 5 mile paved bike trail. We enjoyed out stay with a group of 4 rvers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice little park. Easy to get to. There are good directions in the other posts and on the BLM site. We found the road to be excellent all the way to the campground. It is a donation site, so you donate as much as you like to camp there. Sites are level and large with fire rings; I gave it a 6 because it is in a close canyon without much of a view. We saw deer, cows, squirrels and butterflies. Down the road another 2 or three miles is a spectacular view and a gravel area large enough for several motorhomes or trailers to park. This is all BLM land leased to cattle farmers. You can access any of it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

W spent one night there. We were told that it was a 50amp site, but the utility post only had a 30amp outlet. It wasn't a problem since we didn't need the ACs. Park shower was clean, but it had a timer on the lights and evidently it wasn't fully turned and the lights went out during shower. Park was clean with concrete pads, a small grassy area and a medium size tree with a picnic table. Site was sufficiently large enough for a one night stay. We would have liked a little more room if we were to stay longer. One word of caution, access to the road to the park requires going over an sharp incline at an angle and will cause a motor home to rock violently side to side if you are going more than a creep. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip through that area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects AAA discount. This was a nice little park and neatly kept. Sites all consisted of concrete pads with a strip of grass and were about average to small in size. Staff were very friendly when I called to arrange for a late arrival. WiFi was good and easy to access. Park was well lit at night. Maybe a bit too well lit for our tastes, with almost every site having a yard lamp. Definitely a good place for an overnight stay! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park itself was fine. We had an unfortunate incident here. We set up our trailer and went to a local store for groceries. Upon returning we noticed that our spare tire was missing. We called the police and they were mostly not at all interested. In fact, the police said that if we didn't have a video of the crime being committed, they couldn't do anything about it. Since the RV park has a number of live in residents, I asked the cop if perhaps he could even casually just look around, since the spare and wheel were brand new as was the fifth wheel. Nope. The park is fine. Showers and restrooms are clean. Easy access and easy for a big rig to use. We used a pull through, 50 amp site. Worked fine. We wouldn't ever use this park again simply because it felt unsafe after our spare was stolen. We had been gone from the trailer for thirty minutes so we felt like it was most likely someone living here full time. One lesson learned was to put a cable and lock on the spare tire. Since it was mounted on the belly, I thought it would be hard to steal. Actually it makes it easier to steal. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners and staff take care of this park. It is clean, well landscaped and pleasant. Sites are genuine pull-throughs and level. The cable and Wi-Fi are excellent. I'm glad we chose this park for a longer stay and have no negative comments about it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Although we were there in the winter, and some of the sites were closed, the necessary facilities were all open. The laundry was clean and spacious. The showers were clean with plenty of hot water. First time we have stayed in Susanville and was pleasantly surprised how nice this park looked. Great for an overnight stay. Cement parking pad (pull through), good water pressure, and voltage on electrical. Cable was spotty at best. Seems to be a lot of long term folks but they are located along the edges of the park. No noise issues. Not a destination resort but more than adequate for a passing through overnight stay. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When entering the Park there were no signs where to park for registration. I pulled to what I thought was a safe place. When I entered the office, instead of saying "welcome" the woman behind the desk was extremely rude and all she said was "You parked in the wrong place." I was really taken back and asked did I need to move my rig. She responded, "Well not now but NEXT time park in the right spot." From that point it went from bad to worse. Of all my RV years, I have never been treated so rudely and interfaced with such a poor representative to a park. I will never go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This looked like a good park for a two night stay on our way back to Sacramento from a 2 month stay in Oregon. We pulled in around 1:30 p.m. and were pretty tired after the drive down CA 139 (very narrow, winding, and steep). There was a note pinned on the office door that stated they would not be open until 9:00 a.m. the next morning. They did leave our site number posted so we were able to park and get settled. I was very disappointed because I wanted to ask questions about where to have my hair done and where to eat plus get some info on what to see. We felt rather unwelcome. When we were finally able to get into the office the next day, I asked if it was the normal policy to close the office in the afternoons. The lady at the desk was very curt and surly about the fact that she had errands to run that day. She said there was no one else to man the office while she was gone. This seems to be to be rather poor business sense. There was an envelope to fill out and slide in the door if you wanted to pay cash, but to use a credit card you had to wait till the next day. We saw many rigs pull in after we did and I wonder how many just stayed the night and left the next morning (before 9:00 a.m.) without paying. This is an ok campground (nothing to brag about). Under the circumstances, we will never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My wife and I stayed here the month of April. The park is in the process of being cleaned up after what appears to be a stretch of time without regular maintenance. Although where we parked was out of the way. A recent parolee from one of the two maximum security prisons in town was moved in next to us. His parole agent came trying to locate him on two separate occasions that I saw. When my wife and I would go for walks in the evening people would have their dogs tied up outside or locked in their RV's barking loudly. The concrete pads in almost all the spaces were cracked and uneven. Although Wi-Fi is available the bandwidth/strength was almost non-existent. During check in the manager was friendly, but loud and had a very strong and offensive cigarette odor which permeated the entire office and gave me a headache immediately. I would not recommend this RV park unless you absolutely have to "hookup." If your just driving through town on your way to Reno, Klammath Falls, or Redding, Wal-Mart has plenty of out of the way quiet large truck/trailer parking. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is about the only thing going in Susanville and it's a huge park, with lots of seasonal or permanent residents. The best thing I can say about it is that the laundry is huge and very clean. The sites are concrete, reasonably level and have grass between them except for a concrete area for the picnic table. But the concrete is broken up and uneven, and the site was barely long enough for our truck and trailer. If the front of our fifth wheel had been lower, we wouldn't have been able to park our truck because we had to back in under the front almost to the hitch pin. There was a fire hydrant in front of our site that we cleared by inches when pulling out of the site. Check-in time is 12:00 but when we arrived at 12:45 the office was closed until 1:45. Fortunately we had a reservation and had been given a site number, so we found our site and set up. During the next hour we saw two motorhomes come in and just park in the entrance waiting for the office to open. If anyone else had come in they would have had to park in the street. When we went back to the office later to pay the woman in the office was slow, unfriendly and unhelpful. The Wi-Fi was OK but not super-fast; the water pressure was very low; we didn't use the cable TV so I don't know about it. We would come back but only if we couldn't find anything better. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Whomever designed this park knew what they were doing. It has a modern layout with plenty of room, has paved streets, and concrete pads. Park is located within walking distance to Wal-Mart and other businesses in town. The office was closed when we arrived (sign said gone for an emergency), but our site was posted and after-hours check in materials were handy. WiFi was sketchy but worked if you took your device to other areas of the park. Beware though, the WiFi here is unprotected (no password required) so use at your own risk. The laundry facility looked brand new as did the exercise facility however, we couldn't get into the exercise room as we were not provided with the code to access it. The biggest negatives I can comment on is there are probably a half-dozen or so "full-time" resident trailers on the property and most are unsightly due to the park allowing them to put foam insulation skirts around the bases of them. These are not RV skirts but foam from a hardware store not meant for exterior use. If they got a handle on that and had a pool I could easily rate this park a 10. Would stay here again no problem. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed three nights on Camp Club rate of $18. GS rate is $32. I would have given this park a 10 but they didn't have a pool. Sites are level concrete pads. 50 channel cable TV, fast WiFi, some trees for partial shade. Laundry was clean with sufficient machines to do several loads at once. Pet waste bags and trash cans are located around the park, there are fenced play area for dogs. Management was friendly and helpful. We would come again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Maintenance is horrible, plants and vegetation are dying due to lack of irrigation. Only the first five Camp Club Members are allowed to use the camp club discount and with cash only. The restrooms are horribly dirty. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Clean park. Has level concrete sites. Got here after hours on a weekend so didn't meet the staff, but the after hours check-in was easy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Clean, well-maintained park with large pull-through spaces. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice dog-walk facilities. Men's restroom was being renovated while we were there but even so, it was spacious and clean. Rate reflects Escapees discount and includes taxes. Wouldn't stay here long-term but a good place to stop over or use as a base for a few days to explore area attractions. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an okay park for a one-nighter. It lacks maintenance. Wi-Fi is horrible: it didn't work two years ago when we stayed here, and it still doesn't. The place is clean but nothing to write home about. I doubt we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Mountain View and Susanville RV Parks are actually the same park. Mountain View is the mobile home section and Susanville the RV park, both at the same address. The park is state of the art. The interior is all pull-through sites with wide paved roads and concrete pads long and wide enough to handle what ever you have. The outer edges, are double wide back-in’s with room for two vehicles and a trailer or storage shed. Cable is included but their Wi-Fi is through a pay service and only works well if you are near the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a bad spot for a couple of days. Spots are paved with nice grass between the sites. Pet friendly and close to town. Only negative was it was hard to get through to the office due to limited hours, staff was very nice once you got an answer. WiFi cost$ 5.00 a day but they gave out coupons for a free day or two. Once you got through the cumbersome sign in process it worked ok. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for only one night, but wouldn't have any problems staying longer. The help was great and the facilities were neat and clean. There is a putt-putt, batting cage, gym and a couple of other nice amenities like that. The only problem we had was that they put us into a spot that had a middle dump and utilities instead of a rear one and the dump pipe was higher off the ground than my dump tube, but their dump station was very handy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of the cleanest parks we have been in. All sites are paved and grass between sites. I read a negative review of this park and found her remarks to be ridicules after you see it for yourself. I think a person who didn't like this RV Park has a real problem with reality. It is as close to a 10 as you will find on your travels. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Surprise- this is the same Mountain View RV Park with the negative reviews. Don't know about new owners but the woman in the ofc. was not helpful nor friendly, & was yelling at her dog and kids. It's an over-priced parking lot, even with the GS discount to $33.50. Sewer outlet sits on raised concrete pad with power pedestal, sometimes behind it. Worse, it's very high, so if your dump valve is low, you have a serious gravity problem. Only 2 shower rooms, both dirty. Good cable tv and close to stores, yet fairly quiet. Hope we never have to come back though. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Free WI-FI, Great place for overnight, easy in and out, very quiet, walking distance to Wal-Mart, Safeway, Walgreen's, Ace Hardware, Subway Sandwich Shop, Starbucks Coffee to name a few. Beautiful view of snow capped mountains. Close to Diamond Mountain Casino where fuel is a couple cents less a gallon then in town. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Would consider spending a season here in addition to over-nighing on our way through. Good Sam and AAA Discounts. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yes, this park is clean and well maintained, but we would not have stayed here if there had been any other option available. I don't like "camping" in a park that is basically just a big paved and cement lot and that is lighted at night like a prison yard. It was expensive, too! I know this place will suit a lot of people well, it's just that although we like the comfort of camping in our self-contained trailer, we also like nature and dark night skies. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park with all pull-paved sites. Streets are wide and the spaces are easy to get into. Office staff were terrific. However, if you miss the street where the park is located,you must unhook and get yourself turned around as you are on a dead end. We understand that new owners are working on a solution to this problem. I would have rated this park higher, but I feel that the price for the Susanville area is quite high. Perhaps all of CA is over-priced. No pool either. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nicely fixed up park, wide paved roads, large concrete pads, good spacing between sites with grass and young trees. The wireless worked well for us for the 2 days we were there. Quiet, pleasant surroundings but no pool. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park with cement pads. The sites could be a little wider & longer to fit the larger rigs. You have a view of the Sierra Nevada mountain range & in season you can see deer in the field. This is the second year that we have stayed here for a week. The laundry is clean & well maintained. My laptop worked fine, but my husband's did not pick up a signal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV park, but the "free" wi-fi is not there. We have never seen an RV park that advertises they have wi-fi in so many places and then they don't have it. We were never able to connect - no even in the laundry where we were told many could connect. We hope that they really get someone to come in a fix it, or stop advertising they have it. That said, the campground is very clean and quiet. The dog run was ok, but there was no light at all on it at night so we choose not to use it then for our puppy. The sites have very nice grass and young trees. We would stay there again, but only if they wi-fi is working. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My only comment was they advertised free wi-fi but I was not able to connect even though they placed me close to the tower. I even went in the laundry room as instructed and was still unable to get a signal. The gentleman in the office was not concerned about it at all. I stayed here because of the wi-fi I needed. The park was clean and orderly. I would stay here again if I don't need wi-fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was a real surprise. We were just passing through for the night but were pleasantly surprised to find it one of the best we've seen. Plenty of room for big rigs, nice concrete pads and patios, free wi-fi, trees, shrubbery and greenery, and everything very well maintained and kept clean, friendly staff, this place has it all. An excellent bargain at $28 also. We camped here in a Motorhome.
