We were very impressed with this campground. It had 2 swimming pools, a spa, 2 clubhouses, & they had a built in brick oven pizza on their front patio that overlooked the creek. The pizzas were great & the view was amazing. The bathrooms were spotless. Every time I went in them, it looked like someone had just cleaned them and they have 3 sets of bathrooms with showers all located in areas throughout the resort. We were camped in their C section where almost every site is literally on the water. The staff was very friendly and even when they didn't know an answer to one of my questions, they were kind enough to find someone who did know. I would highly recommend this campground and well definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This membership "RV resort" bills itself as a "5 star resort" so that is what we gave it. 5 out of 10 is correct. First, the pluses: water pressure was good and the water was good tasting, the sites were gravel and fairly level, lots of shade at the stream side of the park, and park personnel patrolled through the area frequently. The downside is that this park has fallen into a state of disrepair. The showers had no hot water for at least a week, the clubhouse was worn and shabby, at least one of the common dump sites was out of order. We camped with a large group of rigs and were told we would have full hookups and paid accordingly, only to arrive and be assigned to an area without sewer connections (might have been okay except this is the section without a common dump). The 100+ degree temps during the day put a strain on the electrical system and many in our group did not have enough power to run their air conditioning. We will not stay here again in the summer as the canyon gets too hot. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 5 days. The pools were not maintained and the spa was empty. Large recreation room with 2 old worn out couches, a TV, and pool table. 30 amp electric and water to all sites. We camped along the river and it was quite nice. I belong to RPI and paid $10. I would go again. I did get about half of my direct TV programs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a little peace of heaven nestled away in that canyon. We arrived around 6pm both times and found the staff to be exceptional with the help. The beauty of this resort is outstanding, I will allow more time on our next visit as we were only passing through. We can't wait to go back to explore the camp further and then spend some time in Winters and the other communities, they all look very interesting. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I used my ROD membership to stay at this park for no nightly fee. The Park appearance is not bad. It is a good distance from Winters, which is the nearest town. The other direction leads you past Lake Berryessa and the dam, which is not much to see, and there appears to be no public access to the lake. The park is located in a steep, narrow canyon. I chose a site with full hookups which was not bad, though it was in a complete dead zone where strangely enough - not even my remote controls nor my remote control for my car would work. There is was no satellite service, no cable, no antenna TV reception, no Cell Service whatsoever, and no Internet service. The park has a significant bee problem. Several campers had purchased bee traps which were full. I could not enjoy a meal outdoors nor spend much time outdoors there because of the numerous bees which were all around. Several neighboring campers told me that they had been stung. I even had a bat wedged into my window one morning. I think there is some sort of radio interference being generated from the dam in the area. I would likely not stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It's always nice to have a park near a lake. The setting was nice but I was not impressed with anything else at this place. I could not use my cell phone, the internet, & the roads were dusty. People were nice but not a lot to do there. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I love this park and consider my home away from home. There are campfires allowed in proper off ground containers. Roads are unpaved, but I've not had dust, nor mud problems. No cell access for several miles, though they do have pay phone and internet access at the upper club house, next to the office. Some sites along the creek are a bit crowded for my taste, but there is enough room for slideouts everywhere in the park. A good variety of birds provides additional interest. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I love Canyon Creek it is like my second home and the nice staff are the sweetest gals this side of the Mason Dixon line. I call this place my 2nd home because they treat you like family when you come here. There is also a wonderful manager who cares about the park and plans wonderful events to get people involved with the RV lifestyle. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had fun at the park. There were activities to keep the kids busy. The employees were friendly and helpful. There was not a lot of pressure when we went on our sales tour. Our family will use the park again, soon. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It's been awhile since this park has been reviewed, and it is important for everyone to know. This park still has issues. Last week a group of R.O.D. members voted this membership park, The Worst Park in California. Small, dusty sites. No water access or shade. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I don't understand the last review of this place. No water access or shade!! Look at their site. There is plenty of trees and access to water. This is a prime site for trout fishing and there's Lake Berryessa right down the road if you have a boat. Only complaints are dust and the amount you have to pay for a deposit to play pool, ping pong, etc. This is a great facility. Our kids love to fish, one of them caught 15 fish in one day (we catch and release). The pool can get a tad dirty towards the end of the day if there are a lot of people using it. Plenty of activities throughout the weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Terrible experience. All dirt, smells of guano from bat infested bridge. The restrooms, pool and facilities were filthy. Garbage everywhere. Any activities required healthy deposits or fees. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park looked dirty from the time we pulled up. It's is a nice setting along side the Putagh Creek which flows out of the dam at Lake Berryessa. But it was all dirt, no grass. They only had electric and water where most site were along the creek. They had a honey wagon that you could use for $5.00. This is a private owners "Resort". We were offered 3days/2nights to listen to their presentation. We were offered a free years membership from the dealer where we bought our motorhome. This place was so bad we turned down the free year. The sites were very narrow. We would never go back. I almost forgot the swimming pool. It was so dirty it looked like it had worms in the bottom of the pool, but it was cracks filled with dirt or algae. And I'm stretching it to say they can handle 40 footers. I had a 36 ft and was probably at the limit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Membership park, clean park, they say they can handle big rig but I wouldn't take one in there, sites are on top of each other, they say that they have sewer/grey hook-ups but that is only on the other side of the hwy/road, charge for honey wagon, staff friendly, nice game room, most sites are so close together that your rig will be the back rest for your neighbors picnic table. Our rig was 22ft our neighbor's was about 24ft motorhome and we were about 10 feet away from each other. We didn't care for it because they charged for the honeywagon, the sites were SO small and the hiking trail was not for casual walking and there wasn't anywhere else to go. Thank goodness we were in our small RV not our new 32ft. We hardly could fit our 5th wheel & truck in site. They say that they have "hiking" trails. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and I'm only 32 and in ok physical health (not extremely over weight but I'm not training for a marathon either). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The infrastructure is older and because it is county run, a lot of deferred maintenance. Roads are narrow, and you must be careful with trees as you drive. There are only a couple of sites with sewer and the dump stations are in the middle of the park (which for us meant driving around the park again to get to them). But it is a pretty setting, lake is nice. We rented a canoe and had a good time. Winters is also a nice dining town (supposedly 1/3 of UC Davis employees make up residents). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A fine campground adjacent to Putah Creek. We stayed riverfront which carries a "premium" campsite fee of $10...and worth it. An easy creekside hiking (the "Shoreline Trail) trail about 1/2 mile long. About 1/3 of the sites have electric and water. Additionally, a few of those have sewer hook-up. Nice spot. Rustic campground and fits well with the surroundings. We would and will camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects a senior discount for a site with electric and water. Charming, quiet, treed, rustic park with friendly greeters (peacocks) and helpful camp host. Some spots could be difficult to get into for a bigger rig, but we were able to find a perfect one for our 32' fifth wheel which was an easy back in. We only needed an overnight stop, but would have loved to stay longer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park to visit. My family along with a family we brought along with us stayed here and had a great time. We came in two vehicles in addition to my travel trailer. They limit each sight to 10 people and we were right at the limit with the two families. They charge $10.00/night per additional vehicle and the first pet is included in the original per night charge. $1.00/night per additional pet. They have two sites for the public that have water sewer and electric. Reservations can only be made by phone, it is best to call on a Saturday as if you call during the week you will probably get voice mail and they will return your call when they can. I played telephone tag with them just a bit. There is no online reservation at all. It is called Lake Solano but there really isn't a lake at the campground, it is right next tothe Putah creek. Beautiful place with wild Turkey's & Peacock having free roam of the park. They advertise big rig access but it may be a bit tight in some spaces. I have a 31' model pulling with a SUV and anything more and I don't think I would have been able to park in my sight, in fact I had to go against the signs of traffic direction to get out of my space. I don't know if they would have had heartache if they would have seen but that's what I had to do. I would highly recommend this campground and I will visit it again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We had two family's on one site. Friends camped with us in our travel trailer which sleeps 9, we had 10 all together. Thankfully we were able to sleep some little people doubled up on one of the lower bunks. The park states limits at 8 campers per site but the ranger said the limit is 10 max so we made out. Very friendly staff but limited due to budget cuts. You cannot make reservations via computer, they must be made by phone and you will probably play telephone tag just a bit as you must leave a message and they will return your call. Best to call on Saturday, when we arrived in town and called they answered right away. The park is beautiful! If you are expecting a polished and manicured campground, then you may be disappointed. It is clean and well maintained, we didn't use the park facilities as we would prefer to use our own. There are only two sites available to the public that have full hookups with water, sewer and electric, #34 and #56. There are other spaces that have water and electric only, and of course spaces that have nothing. I look forward to coming to this park again, we had a great time with our friends and the kids had a blast! Wild turkey, and peacock have free roam of the place. Big rig access in the lower area can be tight. We had to go against the marked traffic direction to get our 34' (tongue to bumper) TT out, pulled with a relatively short wheelbase sport utility vehicle. It is doable, with some care. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
It is a great place for a short trip in the winter months. Summer here can be hot and crowded the bees are bad in summer as well. There is lake fishing and boating nearby you can fish the river but they have seasonal rules. It is nice for riding bikes and walking and they have a seasonal nature center. The price is right and the people are friendly and they don't bother you unless you are very loud. The gate locks at 8pm so plan accordingly you can park a car outside the gate if you forget. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We have been here a few times, and each time this location gets worse! The grounds are not kept up, the grass isn't watered, and due to county budget cuts, there are no "park rangers" at the facility. The restrooms leave a lot to be desired. I will NOT return to Lake Solano. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This county park is really nice except that budget cuts are playing a negative role here. Too many sites don't allow a 11-12 foot high RV to access them because of over hanging branches that normally would easily allow it to set up. What a shame. One guy working a few hours per week could fix this problem. Guess it's just part of the not-my-job culture as lots of workers are doing other things at this park and in my opinion could fix the problem in two days. I will not go back to this wonderful place until I can be assured that over hanging branches and limbs won't damage my roof a/c's and satellite dish. On the plus side, the setting is terrific, the sites are mostly spacious, the young lady at the front gate was very accommodating, the Peacocks were entertaining and the Summer weather was wonderful (warm during the day and perfect for sleeping.) We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park located only a few miles from Lake Berryessa with plenty to keep you busy. Putah Creek is known nationwide for its outstanding trout fishing. Whether summer or winter, this is a fun and relaxing place to be. There are a few bike trails that run along the creek with plenty of wildlife to view. The first morning camping, we stepped out of our trailer to find 40 wild turkey walking right by our spot. There are also about a dozen free roaming peacocks that make their rounds through the park and seem to be very used to people. There are plenty of nice big bathrooms throughout the park with free showers also. Each site has its own picnic table, fire pit, and very spacious area. Sites 30-67 are located on the bottom side of the park with a wooded atmosphere and are located very close to the water. However, if you are pulling over a 35 ft trailer, it may be a little tight in most of the spots. We have a 35 ft 5th wheel and only found a few sites in this area that we could get into. Also, expect to pay $10 more a night for sites located right on the water since they are considered Premium but in my opinion are worth it. Sites 1-29 and 68-90 are located in the upper portion of the park with a background of rolling hills and the sites set in the middle of a clean cut park with many beautiful maple trees. There is a “Day Use” area across the street that also belongs to the park that offers plenty of water sports in the summer time. However during the winter months, all that is available is bike trails and picnicking…still fun. The only downfall about the park is the Rangers close the gates at dusk and reopen them at dawn. There are 2 camp hosts that are permanent residents that will be available to let you out if needed. Just plan ahead and it shouldn’t be an issue. Overall we were very pleased with the park and look forward to staying here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a pretty park on the Putah River, just east of Winters and about 10 miles north of Vacaville and just south of Lake Berryessa. Their phone is 530-795-2990. Sites are spacious with plenty of walnut trees and shade, grass, and free-roaming peacocks. Picnic tables and grills at each site. Very peaceful and quiet, especially during the week. Free hot showers. No WiFi and weak cell phone reception. Dark at night (which we like). Fishing on the river a few feet away. No sewers, but two dump stations. Note -- they lock the gate at 6 or 6:30, so plan ahead. We enjoyed the setting so much we stayed a few extra days just to unwind. We camped here in a Motorhome.
