Not a fancy place but clean, exceptionally level, well managed and has a view to die for. The owner is on site and is one of the best you will find. Rest rooms are older but clean. Could use a bit more privacy for shower stalls but the pluses of the park outweigh any small negatives. No better place in B.V. and we will be back. Extended our stay because we enjoyed the area so much. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We needed a place to stay for one night on our way to our next destination. We thought this one would be nice as it is situated on the Arkansas River. Boy, were we sorry. This park is all rocks and gravel with a few scraggly trees. The owners are not the nicest and the price was outrageous for what we got. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Because we enjoyed this area so much we extended our stay for almost a month. We are from Arizona and were looking for a cooler place to get out of the heat so this was a great option to park our 40ft toyhauler and enjoy the beauty. The owner was so accommodating and even offered his personal flatbed trailer to us so we could haul our quads to a riding area close by. We also ended up staying longer than originally expected and the owner was very helpful in making it possible to keep our same spot and not have to move to another space. We didn't use the restrooms so I can’t comment on their cleanliness but from what I could tell they looked clean to me. There is a washer and dryer for use but they are both located in the women's bathroom and wasn’t very convenient for my husband’s help. There is only 1 washer ($2.00 a load) and 1 dryer (.75 cents) which made for a long laundry day, but considering the owners love and care for this park, I was willing to overlook that small inconvenience. They also offer free Wi-Fi, and even though there was no cable TV we were able to pick up some local channels with our antenna. As far as spacious room between each RV spot there were a few spaces that were extremely close but we were in space 12 and had plenty of room for our patio setup. Also we had trees for shade which makes this park even nicer. Hwy 24 that runs right in front of the park was a little noisy at times ( running a loud fan at night helped allot) but having the river close by and the beauty of the mountains in our view it made this park a winner for us. The park is located about 5 minutes north of downtown Buena Vista and wasn’t a problem at all for distance. All and all I have to say that the owner and his pride for this park made our stay one of our favorites. Everything is kept so nice and clean and his willingness to accommodate whatever needs made him a class act park owner. Thanks to the owner for such a pleasant stay, we plan on coming back again someday!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects weekly rate. CG was basic and mostly OK with nice view of mountains. But we didn't find the owners to be particularly friendly or welcoming, the sites are all pretty close to the road so not too quiet (better at night, of course), and our water hook-up was located at the neighboring site and on the wrong side, requiring that we run our hose under our rig and use our secondary hose (which had been used for grey water before so made us a little nervous, had to drink bottled water for that stay, etc.). This park is further north than most (other than Arrowhead, which really didn't get Verizon signal so was out for us) but still in a good location for most activities in BV. Our Verizon signal was good here. River access is so-so. The AR River runs right behind it, and there are paths down, but they are fairly steep. And since I forgot to mention restaurants in my other 2 BV reviews, I'll say something here. Quincy's has a great deal for filet Mignon and prime rib - very good! K's Dairy Delite is always super crowded (right on main drag), but the food is just so-so, and it takes forever to get your food!! We would NOT go there again! Asian Palate was OK - kind of pricey for Asian that's a little under par (too bland). Jan's was good for a good price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent park, easy, laid back and great owners. I had stayed many times when former owners were here. It was great then; it is better now. Clean, well patrolled, accommodating. They keep a well kept eye on what is going on in the park. Will be back many more times to come as long as these owners have it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Had some friends put together a group trip, they were tent camping we were trailer camping. I have stayed in Buena Vista before and were unhappy with our stay here. The public bathrooms and showers were awful, not cleaned in the two nights three days we were there. They had area rugs hanging over the shower stalls that you had to put down and pick up each time, they were never cleaned either. The RV sites were very tight and somewhat close to the highway. The tent site was great and only a few minutes to the river. If you are tent camping, this is a great place but I would not recommend it if you plan on using the public restrooms during your stay. We are staying here monthly until we can buy a house in the area. Been here 2 weeks and the owners and very friendly and helpful. Cellphone does not work very well but it could be my phone. TV channels do not come in clear and sometimes lots of static. We rent a lot of movies. Well kept park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wide open lot adjacent to Rte 24, but fairly quiet at night. Snug sites. Only one washer & dryer, and bathrooms need a little TLC. Buena Vista is a lovely town with friendly folks. The route here takes you through the San Isabel National Forest - breathtaking views. Good area for gold panning, whitewater rafting, hot springs, jeep tours. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here for my Mother's birthday. Because she is 72 and doesn't tent camp it at her age, we got a camping cabin. It was small, but very cute and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The grill on the porch, picnic table, and personal fire ring really added to our camping experience. The one we stayed in was above the river and had a great view. The bathroom and shower was clean. They could use another shower or two, but other than that, it was a great experience and I'd stay here again. The employees were very nice and friendly and helpful as well. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

This is a nice little cg, and the third one we tried on the pm of the 3rd of July. The young lady in the office was very helpful about getting us into a good site (new owners and great people). The sites are quite close together, but you can get slides out and in several of the sites, your awning. That really doesn't matter as you aren't here to sit out during the day. There are a lot of things to do here such as ATV, biking, river rafting and gold panning. The man next to us showed us the flakes and chunks of gold he had found that day panning, and there was almost an ounce. Even though it is right next to a major highway, there was minimal noise at night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A young couple now own this campground. Very friendly and helpful. You can walk to the river fish. Very nice tent sites. We stayed 7 nights. Our group had 18 people with everything from tents to 5th wheels. There is a pavilion with tables and a gas grill by the tent camping area. Unlike some RV parks, they don't make tent campers feel like second class people. We hope to return next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

New owner for 2006. A lot of improvements have been made. Walk to Arkansas River to fish. Very scenic with the Collegiate Peaks on one side and the river on the other. Very nice tent sites. We stayed 3 nights. We had my 33' travel trailer and a large 5th wheel. They also have a 5th wheel for rent which friends rented for one night. About 4 miles north of Buena Vista on Highway 24. Ghost towns and scenic drives in immediate area. We will stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park, but seems a little pricey. Our rate of $27 was the Passport America rate. The sites are gravel, but they are level. Spacing between RV's is OK, but nothing exceptional. Verizon service is problematic; the park Wi-Fi worked fine for us. The park is open with few trees. This is a rural park, several miles north of town. The view of the hills and mountains is very nice. This is a pleasant park, but seems a little more expensive than other nearby parks, if one does not use Passport America membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was adequate but not not as nice as some others in the Salida, Buena Vista area. Nearest public river access was 3.7 miles to the north. We were unable to access Verizon from this park and the park Wi-Fi was very slow. The owners were personable and helpful and sold expresso and capuccino, etc., at the main office. I believe we would choose a park with river access when we return to this area in the future. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Daily rate with Good Sam discount. Here for two days while checking fire situation in Woodland Park. Nice location north of Buena Vista. Nice campground, but hardly a resort. Tried to use Passport America discount, but was told 4th of July weekend started a week before the 4th (?). For rate charged, I would have expected free showers, but cost was over $1 for seven minutes. Probably wouldn't stay again just for that reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners are friendly, and are trying to make this into a nice park. The facilities were good (we had one of their new paved sites) but the roads are dusty. Also, this campground is quite a ways north of Buena Vista. We didn't see the pool, or the hot tub, don't think there was either one. Not sure why this is called a resort; they charge like one. Next time we'll find something closer to town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Super nice people, very helpful, very clean campground. Great little coffee shop in the office, even had breakfast burritos on Sunday morning. Gravel interior roads and spots, although a few spots were being paved (blacktop), not muddy as there was lots of road base, there was little dust even with the wind. Great mix of spots, some shady, some big wide open (satellite hill), back ins, pull-throughs, tents, cabins, yurts. Much bigger than you think as it's all spread out. We stayed in a 50 amp spot, good tasting water with good pressure, easy dumps (although almost uphill, if you have a real low dump spigot, some sites could be a problem.) Pet friendly, very clean and well maintained. Very nice general store with a good selection of stuff you need right now that you forgot along with munchies, groceries, and goofy souvenirs. Nice view, although you are along the highway (but every park/campground in the area is along the highway; after dark there is no real noise). Stayed here in a 45ft rig and would stay again. Price was last week of non-peak season and included Good Sam discount and tax. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Alaska. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view is amazing. Our site had 50 amp on addition to the rest of the hook ups. I took some pictures of the tent sites for our son since they looked pretty big. The area in general is a good place to visit. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is with the Passport America discount. Very friendly staff and owners. We were guided to our site and assisted backing in. Roads and sites are gravel. Our site was not quite level so I needed leveling boards. Sites are wide enough to provide good distance between rigs and some privacy. Wi-Fi work fine but AT&T cell service worked spotty, whereas Verizon worked okay. No cable provided but most sites have a good southern view for satellite. There is a well stocked store. Views are great and campground is far enough from highway so it is quiet. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice well maintained campground. Power was good, water pressure was at 50 PSI and we had no problems with the sewer. Sites are dirt and gravel and wide enough for all of our slides and awning with room to sit outside. There is road noise but not at night. Wi-Fi was excellent. Verizon cell and aircard was iffy even with our antenna and signal booster. We were in #1 which is a back in site backed up to the trees. It’s about as far away from the road noise as you can get. We were able to use our dome satellite which was nice. Site was almost level and easy to level out. Lots of things to do in the area. The town has a great sports complex with very nice tennis courts. One thing, when owners use the word resort in the name of the park I expect to see a pool/spa, cable TV, etc. At $44.00 a night it would have been nice. Paid for 6 nights with the 7th night free. There was also a $5.00 charge for making the reservation online. We would stay here again when passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 1 month and were pleased with the obvious pride they take in maintaining the grounds. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and did whatever they could to make our stay memorable. They watched out for us if we spent a night away, helped us plan our trips, and always greeted us with a smile. They had activities that were entertaining and a great little store. We would return without hesitation. The bathrooms,showers, and the laundry facilities were immaculate. The sites had fire pits and beautiful views of the surrounding fourteeners. Quiet hours were respected and the road noise was minimal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners and staff of this park want you to be happy with the park and their service. In prior posts there are comments which the park has absolutely no control over, i.e lack of AT&T cell service, lack of shopping and restaurants in town. The restrooms/showers have always been clean and tidy. The laundry room is clean. They escort you to your site, will help you hook up utilities if you'd like their help. The store is stocked with basic camping supplies and some groceries. We've enjoyed our stay here and will most definitely return. We appreciate the level of service we've received from the owners and staff. Very nice people! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

OK park - staff friendly. Wi-Fi sometimes very slow. Clean restrooms and shower (coin operated - .50 for 3 mins) takes 30-60 secs to warm up. Fairly wide sites (been in much tighter spots). TV antenna reception terrible - no cell phone reception at campsite (must walk/drive to top of hill in tent camping area to get a signal. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I cannot agree with the prior posts. This is, however, the best Buena Vista has to offer. 7 is a generous rating. It is dirt with some gravel, but the dust isn't that bad. Some sites are close together and some have decent space between them. Most sites are fairly level, but some would be a challenge to get your rig level. The dogs don't respect the quiet hours. While we were there the electricity on the site next to us went out. As soon as they fixed that problem our power went out and apparently it caused one of our circuit breakers to fail. The Wi-Fi is strong at times and others not strong enough to get on the net. One serious problem is the lack of cell service. AT&T has no signal. Verizon has a signal but you have to wander around the campground until you get a signal that may or may not hold. Shopping is sparse as are good restaurants. If we come to this area again, we will try to find a place in Salida, just south of BV. If I was to stay in BV again, this is where I would stay, but would prefer Salida. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I always enjoy this well-run and well-cared-for campground so much and this stay was no exception. The owners, are so pleasant and efficient, and always remember the whole family. We were given a map to our level, raked gravel, pull-through, premium FHU site on the higher part of the park. We had good easy free Wi-Fi (even though they have changed to Tengo, which has been troublesome for me in the past at other parks) and usually adequate Verizon. Electric and water were all steady and good. Bear proof dumpster close to office. Office has a nice selection of various camping/cooking needs, little gifts, snacks and small selection of groceries. They have added a wonderful new coffee bar and barista service – super nice! I appreciate the great view of the Collegiate Mountains and the road from Buena Vista is all made new now. I mark more improvements made at the park again this year, and the several multiple-repeat workkampers are always visible at work tidying and keeping things ship-shape. There was occasionally a little road noise from 24. I was sorry they have finally had to make the beautiful, sparkling clean showers pay – they have mentioned in the past a continuing problem with outside people coming in to use them in the middle of the night. The park was always safe and tranquil. We ran a little late leaving and it was no problem at all when we asked to check out a bit late. Our rate included AAA/Good Sam discount and 2 kids. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As far as we are concerned, this is the best park in Buena Vista. The owners are so friendly and helpful. As previously stated, the store is fairly well stocked and has some unique items for sale. The campground is very clean and inviting. The sites are long and wide. We stayed in site 33 which is a paved back-in. Each site is provided with leveler pads, which we've never experienced. Nice picnic tables and fire pits are provided. The Wi-Fi was spot on, never so much as a blip. The utilities worked perfectly. Such a convenient spot to enjoy all the activities available in the area: hiking, mountain and road biking, 4-wheeling, rafting, sight-seeing! Also an easy drive to Aspen and other surrounding towns. The only negative is the traffic noise from 24. We visited during the off-season so it was fairly minimal. We're pretty sensitive to noise so it may not bother other people! Our price reflects an off-season internet special. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground is tucked against the western slope of hills lining Hwy 24. Rate quoted is daily broken down from a week paid ($179.42). A few sites have trees, grass is sparse, not unusual for high desert areas. All sites are terraced, since the campground is above grade of Hwy 24. Firepits at each site have a grill and wood is available at the office. Owners live on site and are VERY friendly and helpful. Escort to site was appreciated. Camp store was well stocked for camping supplies and cute locally produced gifts. North/South winds through the canyon keep traffic noise minimal. There is not much between sites, but late in the season this wasn't a problem (few campers). Picnic tables are new and there is adequate gravel at each site. Cement on the basketball court looks new, too. At sundown, deer and bunnies browsed 4 sites away, untroubled by me grilling outside. Owners also report a resident bobcat who is very shy, but still a good reason to keep small pets leashed. WiFi signal was very strong and speed was the best I've ever had at a campground. More campers using the service may affect that, but I got 4/5 bars and 44-56Mbs, enough to stream a Hulu show, because there is no cell or TV signal here (no cable). The camping cabins look new and are very tidy looking from the outside. I enjoyed the peace and quiet, being backed up to the western slope of the hill. Overall impression? Tidy, family-run, pleasant hosts, quiet, GREAT WiFi! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not many RV parks in this area except in Buena Vista. This park is a little more expensive $40 vs. $29 without discount, but it was not as crowded and there is ample room between sites. Sites are 30' wide. They are 5 miles north of town off Hwy 24 with their own left turn lane. We found downtown two great places to eat: Jan's for home cooking and Quincy's for very good prices on steaks, prime rib, and sandwiches. We rented a 2000 Jeep from BV Jeeps for $140 a day. Sites are all level, fine gravel except for two paved with asphalt with grass in between. We were on what I call "satellite hill" because there are no trees so reception was great. The other hill backs to trees and an even larger hill so it looked like difficult satellite reception. I have a Winegard TV antenna with a Wingman extension, but it still took some fine tuning to get snowy channels for local weather. I only saw 12 pull throughs with full hook ups; the rest are all back-in. For 6 nights we were on a 60 ft. pull through with room for a toy hauler and a Jeep. They also have cabins, Yurts and space for tent camping. No flies, mosquitoes, gnats, goat heads, sand burrs or cockle burrs. Verizon was 2 out of 5 bars and AT&T was zero bars. Both cell phones had good reception in town. Wi-Fi was good. Some sites would time out, but most of the time response was good. As a bad example it took over four minutes to update an iPod app. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a difference from other RV parks. The hookups are nice. The showers are excellent and I mean CLEAN! I took a shower in a private room with a VERY POWERFUL exhaust fan that actually worked right! I have a problem with exhaust fans in some of these RV parks in their showers! It was so clean, including the toilets and sink and mirror. It's so nice to take a shower and be just like home. I love this campground and the showers here deserve a 20+. We only stayed one night but would have stayed more. The whole place was clean and neat and the staff is very friendly. There are 3 individual restrooms with showers that are extremely clean. The WiFi was weak, but the owners were most helpful. The sites were all large and kept clean. My only problem with this RV park was the total lack of any trees, so we didn't have any shade. We also paid $258 + tax for a week, which I thought was a little steep. Because of that, next time I will probably try to stay at one of the parks closer to town that have trees (and are cheaper). We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed only one night in the park but would have stayed much longer. Tons of sites to fit whatever your camping needs. Small yurts and cabins for rent. We stayed in a 16' Vintage Airstream camper and used the park bathrooms/showers. They were very clean and the owners very very nice. Our second stay here and it was even better than the first time 2 years ago. The owners are very customer-oriented, knowledgeable, friendly yet professional. Check-in was efficient and pleasant. We were escorted to our full hook-up, long, pull-through, gravel, easy-to-level site, with picnic table and fire pit. The campground is well laid out, clean, calm, safe, and serene. Family and pet friendly. We enjoyed fabulous views of the Collegiate Peaks and lots of hummingbirds. The bathrooms were always sparkling clean, have automatic lights and very efficient fans. The office store includes some RV items, small selection of kitchen/grocery items, souvenirs, games, and very economical DVDs. Latest expansions include new bathrooms, cabins, yurts, concrete basketball area, and a really nice community fire pit area. This is in addition to the sand volleyball, kid’s playground, mini-golf, and covered pavilion. There was a pancake breakfast on Saturday, which we regretfully had to miss due to a rafting trip reservation. The WiFi worked excellently at high speed for our entire 5-day stay. My husband was able to work remote (of necessity x 2 days) easily from the campground while the rest of the family relaxed and recreated. Verizon signal strong by the office but varied up on the hill. Electric voltage extremely steady and the electric service box was high enough that the surge guard didn’t hang on the ground, a rarity. Our sewer connection was a little uphill unless we were more to the back of our site. You could occasionally hear loud motorcycles from Hwy 24. Some of the grounds may be seen by some as a little dry, but please remember that in Colorado we conserve water, and enjoy the huge century-old trees by the office and natural greenery throughout. Campsites had great views of the surrounding area. We stayed in campsite #63, absolutely gorgeous views! The sights were gravel, level, and a good space between each site. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry facilities were immaculate. There is a really nice area for group fire pit times, kid's play area, concrete basketball play area, sand volleyball, and plenty of room for good walks. The camp is laid out so that large groups can tent or RV's can gather and still others have privacy. The cabins and yurts are really clean, very functional, and seem reasonably priced. There are lots of local attractions that make this campground a great home base, too. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had a group of twenty teenage boys from our church camp here for an entire week. Our experience was outstanding! The staff are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Everything exceeded our expectations! The views from the campsites were wonderful. The facilities were very clean (cleanest camping shower facilities I've ever seen). The pancake breakfast on Saturday was fantastic! I especially appreciated the basketball area and volley ball court. Our teens had a great time! I have been taking this type of trip yearly for 12 years, and Arrowhead Point Resort was the best experience we've ever had! We will definitely return again, maybe next year! We used to stay in this park for many years before the current owners bought it. There are a lot of parks more rustic, but we always thought it was a nice place and the owners were great. However, the people who own it now seem to be hit or miss. You see a string of good reviews that rave about how friendly they are and then a bad one when some poor, unsuspecting soul sets them off. That is our experience as well. The owners seem to get real unfrienldy, real fast if you happen to have even a minor run in with them on an off day. The WiFi was not working well during our stay and they were quite angry that we even mentioned it. Previous reviews are right: the pictures do make it look better than it is, and they aren't the only park that does that. I am not sure how they stay in business since there are so many nice parks in the Buena Vista area owned by people who don't randomly "go off" on their guests. We will never go back and it pains us, as we had good times here in previous years. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have been camping here for four years now. The sites are level, wide enough for an RV with four slides and still have room. The bath houses are all new and very clean. The owners are like family. They are always asking how we are doing and if we need any thing. They make us coffee when we have our meetings and also at our pot luck. They have a big covered pavilion which they do not charge to use and have barbeque grills you can rent for a small fee. Each time we go, the owners have completed a new upgrade to the park. The outstanding feature was the cordial way the owners greeted us and our group. They always were accommodating with our requests. Our group of around 45 to 50 all said they would like to go back. The Sunday morning breakfast was exceptional. The pavilion was an excellent place for a group to meet, especially if it was raining. The campfire site provided a 360 degree view of the mountains. We were very disappointed with this campground. We were promised a "large pull-through, 50 amp site". On arrival we were assigned a narrow 30 amp site that required a really tight turn to exit. We were told that there is no price difference between 30 and 50 amps. The sewer connection was on the uphill side of our site that would not allow adequate drainage. Although the bathroom was clean, there is a shortage of bathrooms for this size campground. There was no AT&T cell coverage in this area and only a few "snowy" TV channels provided by an antenna. We would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My family and I have been camping at Arrowhead Point Camping Resort now for over 25 years and have enjoyed every moment of it. This year we had our family reunion in June and found great hosts who went out of their way to make our reunion a great event to remember. We had over 40 people in attendance and everyone had a great time, thanks to the accommodations and the wonderful treatment we were given by the owners. I highly recommend this resort for those that love a beautiful quiet place in one of the prettiest places in the rockies. I look forward to our next vacation here. Arrowhead Point is a friendly, clean campground located in one of the most beautiful spots in the country. It also has a feature found in few campgrounds today -- a complete shaded kennel where our dog was cared for by the campground hosts as though he were their own pet. Our dog is normally a little skittish and nervous, but when we returned after six hours away rafting and swimming, it was as though we had never left. I'd highly recommend this park, particularly for pet owners who may not be able to take their pet everywhere with them during their stay. First rate accommodations. The owners, Joe and Cathy Harbick, are some of the nicest people we've run into in RV parks. They are obviously interested in providing a completely positive camping experience at Arrowhead. Being Denver residents, we could have chosen many different parks to leave our RV all summer (we commute on weekends to Buena Vista) but their hospitality and attention to quality facilities attracted us immediately. Also, the proximity of the campground to the Arkansas River and Clear Creek Reservoir is perfect. It's convenient to Buena Vista and all the hot springs opportunities near there, without being in the hustle and bustle of the little town. Arrowhead is a terrific value, we think. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in a Yurt (2 adults and 3 kids under age 7)that is provided by the campground and had other family in a tent on site next to us. Our spot was secluded from the other campers. We also had our dogs with us. The restrooms were clean and the Yurt was also clean, bring plenty of blankets if you choose your own linen package! The campground is very family friendly and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The camp store was very reasonably priced, and they had a movie one night for the kids. We will be back. We always have a great stay at this park, whether for a weekend or a week. The owners are definitely very nice and helpful, in our experience. They have always guided us to our site, and even help set up, while chatting and filling us in on local events. I can't imagine hearing a cross word from either of them. We enjoy hiking up to the top of the park and taking in the spectacular mountain views. Our kids love the stream going through the property, the trails, and the playground. The pool is not available, but we knew that because we asked ahead of time. I hope one day that it is, but we still had a good time on the Upper Arkansas, 10 minutes away. Lots of local events and possibly one of the most beautiful locations in the lower 48. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay at this campground as it was quiet due to being set back from the highway. And the scenery was great. The roads and sites are gravel but well maintained and it was easy to level our unit. We had a pull-through site that had plenty of room for our slides and awning so we weren't on top of any neighbor. The hookups and the Wi-Fi all worked without any issues. We were led to our site and guided into a good position for setup. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and even stopped to chat at our site. This place is definitely not a "Resort". It is a gravel and dirt parking lot with a boarded up pool, with a sad looking playground filled with some kid's leftover toys. We offered to pay for one night even though we were not even going to stay there because it was so bad, but the owner went from nice to downright rude. This was our first time at this park. We were welcomed by the friendly owners upon our arrival and after checking in, were led to our site where were assisted in backing our rig. The site was level and well graded with gravel. We had room to extend both the slide and the awning with room left over for the picnic table and more. We had two nice trees on our site. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in the park as it is clean, well maintained and trash free. The bathroom/shower building we used was thoroughly cleaned every day and looks and smells brand new. The office/store is well stocked and the owners are knowledgeable about the surrounding area and current events in the local area. The Wi-Fi worked great and we never lost service. All utilities worked just as they should. We looked at other RV campgrounds in the area and found Arrowhead Point Camping Resort to be the best value for the money. This is a very clean, family friendly, and dog friendly resort with lots of owner and work kamper staff presence. Our pull-through, gravel site was level, spacious, clean, and well laid out. The owners were welcoming, always accessible, and helpful. They helped arrange or suggest several trips for horseback riding, hot springs resort, and rafting. The bathrooms/showers by the office and in the just remodeled south facility were sparkling clean any time of day. We really enjoyed the many hummingbirds and the clear starry nights. We ran on a scenic county road behind the park, beside the Heckendorf Wildlife Preserve, with fabulous views of the Collegiate Range. There was a fun Luau night Friday with native Hawaiian dancing and an ice cream social. We also enjoyed the volleyball, horseshoes, and mini golf, and nice playground. The Wi-Fi worked well enough for us to do our email, surfing, and daughter to do extensive online courses; it did slow down inside our MH in the evenings towards weekend. It seemed volume related and was resolved with closer access to office. Verizon signal was weak but worked. We could get a Pueblo TV station on batwing without much effort. There was a small but fun DVD library rental available in office. Our rate was based on a weekly stay. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pretty much what previous reviewers have said about this park is true. We have a little different take. We aren’t really campers. We are RVers. So, getting away from it all for that nice 2 or 3 week vacation isn’t necessarily what we are looking for. We pulled in here after being on the road for 3 months. Had a discussion with the owner at check in about how we really need our WI-FI and she smiled sweetly and assured me that it is reliable. In the first 36 hours that we were there, we only got to use if for a couple of hours because it was down. The owners are friendly unless you have a complaint. They didn’t like us complaining about the WI-FI. Initially, we were told that the whole valley was out. But then we found a couple of other campgrounds just down the road whose WI-FI worked. Also found several locations in town that were having no problem. When we brought that up, the back peddling started. Asked if we could have our money back for our final two nights so we could go to a campground where the WI-FI works. They said “No”. They stated that it just wasn’t their fault and that it was an “act of God”. I do not view the failure of inferior technology as an act of God. So, we stayed and it did finally come up but we left one day early when it started slowing down again. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this might be the place. Your cell won’t work, your antenna will not pick up any TV, and the WI-FI is unreliable. Like to swim? They have a pool but it is empty. To be fair, the ONLY thing in that list that they advertise as a service they will provide is the free WI-FI. Hardly their fault that the cell doesn't work and the cable TV doesn't come out that far from town. The word resort just doesn’t work for me though. They charge like it is a resort, but it is not. Obviously, we won’t be going back We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent four late season nights at this very nice campground to visit some of the local area including Aspen, Leadville, Breckenridge, and South Park City. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Although the park is somewhat rustic, it is very well laid out and very comfortable. The owners have obviously been working hard to upgrade the facilities since their purchase several years ago. The effort shows. The Wi-Fi was adequate for our needs and the layout of the park allowed for a good south view to the TV satellite dish. We enjoyed an early season snowfall during our visit and had a great time watching the deer browsing on the grounds. We would certainly return for an extended stay in the future. The new owners are really serious about upgrading this CG. Based on customer feedback, a new cell tower and internet tower were scheduled to be put up within the last couple weeks, after we left. All that should be done by now. The rest of the CG is a clean and friendly as always. This was our second trip and we will be back. Lots of activities on their web page. They also arrange pick up and drop off for local outdoor activities. We took the rafting trip to Browns Canyon on a lark and ended up having one of the best family outings ever. We stayed at Crazy Horse with our 8 year old daughter from Saturday through Tuesday. The campground was never crowded (management says people are still staying away as a result of 2002 forest fires). Our only negative comments are that the picnic tables are falling apart and that the sites close to the highway are noisy (though there is little traffic at night). The pool was warm, clean and active. The mini-golf was just rebuilt last year and was a very popular activity for both my family and many of the other guests. The petting zoo and the playground weren't anything special

Our tent site was poorly maintained (big rocks, small rocks), not leveled, lousy warped picnic table, and inadequate in terms of size of site and place to park car and its proximity to the driveway. Overloaded dumpster nearby and open gate near county road was unnerving as it related to animal raids at night. The bathrooms were small (hardly enough room to sit on the seat, dark and dank). Needed a maintenance work over, but were suitably clean. The disappointing thing, however, was that we went to this campground because it called itself a resort with activities in the ads. Sorry, folks, activities are for crowded weekends, not weekdays. Nothing was happening. Office opens at 8 and closes at 8. Public phone was broken, so the office had the only phone. We drove three miles for a phone after 8 pm. Not good. Save your money for another campground in the Arkansas River Valley. We camped here in a camper.

Vastly overrated by Trailer Life. Wide Open with minimal shade available, sites not tended to, picnic tables in need of repair or missing, site numbering markers missing. Plenty of space between sites in certain sections, too close together in other sections. Bathroom facilities inadequate for the number of sites, and are in need of repair. They were fairly clean, but just not adequate. Pool area was very nice and clean. They have on-site nightly barbeques and entertainment, and there is a small petting zoo for the kids. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. But this campground could use some attention! It's more rustic than the Trailer Life ratings would have one believe. We camped here in a camper.

I like this park and stayed here twice this year. My partner does not like it; something about the way the horses are treated. I don't know anything about horses. The owner is a Texan and his BBQ on summer weekends is to die for. In fact ALL of the fixings at the cook shack are (say this with a Texas drawl) "real good". Spots are wide as are the access roads to them. Most sites share a single shade tree with adjacent site. Wi-Fi and Internet are fine. Good cellular reception. This is not a high-class resort with paved roads for blue-haired ladies. It is an Old West type of place for dudes, 4-wheelers and people who like to put their hiking boots down onto Real Dirt. Excellent place to spend a week if you're an outdoor recreation enthusiast. We camped here in a Motorhome.

(Rate reflects KOA Rewards Kard discount) I used to rate this as one of the best parks we have ever stayed; but have to diminish that. The view is to die for; main reason we stay there. The staff was "just OK" - some very good and others with a "could care less" attitude. We used to love their hot tub; no longer there, and we miss it after hikes. Laundry room clean, limited folding table, etc area - and cold water wash only. The thing that got to me was that the sewer for our site was uphill so that I was trying to dump up about a foot! At first the pressure dumped some but could not truly dump the tanks. On top of that they put and extension on it to make it even higher! We would go there again as we feel it still is the best place in town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground is very unattractive with dirt, sand, and weeds. Owner was rude when we were trying to tell him why we were unhappy. Stated he didn't want to "hear any more complaints". He should probably be in a different line of work. We left early and lost the fee for the second night, but would have probably stayed if we had been offered a better site. The only good thing about this KOA is the view of the mountains and the people who work there, with the obvious exception of the ungracious owner. We will never stay here nor recommend it. This is a dusty park with very few trees. Most of the sites are electric and water only. The water has an unpleasant sandy taste. There is a horse trail ride center within the campground. The horses are tied up short all day, in a small feed lot, saddles on, in the sun with no shade. They are left in the same feed lot at night. I will no go back or recommend this campground for this reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The views of the mountains are spectacular. My cabin looked across the valley and it made it worth it all. Many sites are tucked away among boulders and the few trees. Very rustic, but nice. Also, one of the only campgrounds open this time of the year. The shower rooms were heated and very clean. The host was incredibly nice and helpful. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

I echo the review two below this one. Beautiful location, lots of activities and good food. Bathrooms and showers were clean and most of the staff was nice. The female co-owner, however, is overly aggressive, nastily rude and simply should NOT be in this business. When we arrived she was loudly berating a female customer who wanted to exchange sites with another customer and both parties were in agreement. She loudly complained about the extra paperwork, etc, etc. It didn't matter who was in the office, she just kept going. When one of the Dads in our party went to check out the store with his son, the son picked up one of the animal hats and tried it on, she yelled at the kid to put it back. When the Dad explained he was trying it on to see if it fit, she said he had to buy it first. Who buys a hat without seeing if it fits, he asked. You heard me, she yelled back. She left no opportunity to be mean and nasty untouched. As nice as this campground is, we won't be back because of her. She just put a damper on the entire weekend and there are other places in the area with great owners who know how to treat their customers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was great, lots of activities, beautiful area, friendly staff, good food. The only problem we had was with the ownership. The female co-owner was very rude to customers, condescending to staff (no wonder they've had a high staff turnover), and very inflexible and not customer-service oriented. Where she could have been accommodating and friendly, she chose to be rude and haughty with customers. Many campers were talking about it. She even got to the point of yelling at customers in the office. We were embarrassed for her staff. We had hoped to stay longer but decided to check out early the next morning. It was a shame because we loved everything else about the campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second visit here - were here a year ago for a couple nights and six nights this time. Probably the best KOA we have stayed at - great view out our back window (but we knew what spot to reserve based on last year!). And one of the best RV parks we have stayed at, bar none (have been to about 150, give or take a handful). Place is very clean. Staff is outstanding and always spotless in their yellow shirts and all. One little touch that really impressed us. Our site was not only spotless to pull in to but they rake it from front to back which gives you the impression they really care, and that they were there to take care of it. We plan to go back and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you're looking for a quiet, peaceful place to park with beautiful views then look no further. All other RV parks in this area are located right along the highways. This KOA is located well off the highway yet very easy to access. We stayed here 4 nights and it was an excellent location from which to explore this beautiful area. The owner was friendly, fun and very accommodating. We asked for a back-in site near the top of the hill and even though he had turned off the water to that part of the park, he readily offered to turn it back on during our stay. We parked in B47 which offered us a spectacular view of the Collegiate range but also of the 100 plus mule deer in the field across the road. It was quiet, convenient and relaxing. We would happily stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We really liked this park and will definitely go back again. The only reason I downgraded them was the Wi-Fi. However, they are limited by having only one provider in town who simply does not respond to them. They gave me his number to call, and I did; he did not return my call. The managers and staff are great, and there are lots of activities. They work hard to get group tent camping for teenagers, and they really do a job to educate them on the area and history. Just great people and a great program. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful surroundings, rock outcropings, 14,000+ mountains, called the Collegiates and clear lakes. The Arkansas River, where some of the best whitewater rafting in the country is sought after, is only 1 mile from the campground. The owners are helpful, campground is well run and customer service is their primary goal. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is place beautiful. The views are spectacular. You can't improve on the scenery hence the 10 rating. It truly takes your breath away. The campground is standard NFS. There are no hookups. Water is available but facets are not threaded. The campground is at 10,000 feet and the water pressure can't handle freshwater tank fill ups. So fill up before hand or bring water containers. Restrooms are vault toilets. They are very clean. The sites are mostly level and well maintained. If you are under 30 feet you will have plenty of options. Over 30 feet there are are about 4 or 5 depending on your backing skills. The road (FR 344) is 4 miles of gravel. It is rough in places but wide and safe. Just slow down and you will be fine. One warning do not let your GPS send you down the wrong Forest Road. Do not turn off County Rd 306 UNTIL you reach FR 344. There is a sign for the campground. There is a riding stable on the right just before you reach FR344. Once on FR 344 there are 2 short one lane bridges. The lake is just past the second bridge. The camp ground will be on your right just past the lake. It is clearly marked. There are no reservations and the site is very popular. Your best bet is to arrive before noon. The best days for scoring a site are Monday & Tuesday. Take your hummingbird feeder and your fishing gear. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful "get away from it all" campground. The campground is clean and for the most part, the sites are level. There are a very limited number of longer sites, and the road up to the campground is gravel and a little rough. So if you have a big rig, be prepared to turn around and seek other arrangements if the campground is busy. The sites are not reservable. No electricity, no water for RV fills, and no dump station. We dumped and got water at the Snowy Peaks Campground in Buena Vista. We had a very weak Verizon signal. But, it is a wonderful place to dry camp and enjoy quiet and seclusion. Lots of hummingbirds, heard the elk bugle. One of Colorado's best. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campsite has the most beautiful scenery I have seen. Don't confuse this NFS campground with one of the same name on Grand Mesa. There is no comparison. I loved this place. However, it is a forest service site. There is no dump, hook ups or reservations. It is first come first served. It can fill on weekends so get there before noon on Friday. The campground is in San Isabel NF 11 miles SW of Buena Vista. Take County Rd 306 west about 7 miles to Forest Rd 344. The FR is dirt and rough but it is worth the ride. There are 3 very nice pull throughs and several other long back ends. The hosts are nice and rules are enforced concerning ATVs, quiet hours and dogs. Cottonwood Lake is beautiful and nearby however, you can't see it very well from the campground. Fishing is king here but there is hiking in the area. Sitting and staring at the views works as well It is 9600 feet so plan for cool temps at night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here monthly until we can purchase a home in Buena Vista, CO. A few minor instances happened while our stay, then we were going to move to a different and better site in the same RV Park in June 2010. Before we moved, the owners said we broke the ceramic around the water and we need to pay them $200. It was broken when we set up the RV, so we did not break it. Several other sites had missing or broken ones also. Owner said we had to pay or get out! We moved to another RV Park June 30th. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have camped here in September for the last 5 years and it was our favorite RV park. 2 years ago new owners took over and it appears to be deteriorating. They advertise Wi-Fi but said it didn't work most of the time. It never worked the 10 days we were here. The owner said it would probably be better Wi-Fi access next year. On 3 or 4 occasions there was either no paper towels and/or no toilet paper in the restroom. They have also discontinued some things such as the Saturday morning coffee get together and the Saturday night bonfire. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I've stayed there to do some hiking of the Colorado 14ers. Good location (can walk to town and close to mountains), good rates, and good management. The couple running it try to make a good community atmosphere and have been improving the park as time goes on. I think this is the 3rd year for them. The site was level, however we were disappointed with this campground. The sites are close together, in a sardine-type configuration. We did not see any children other than our own and the owner's. There seemed to be a lot of long term residents at this campground, in fact the campground shared roads/space with a trailer park (homes, not RV's). We didn't want to sit outside because there were a lot of ants at our site. We did not have a campfire area (some sites did). They advertised a "community campfire" but it did not happen. The bathrooms were clean, but in a converted mobile home (there were only 2 toilets). Nice off highway park. Sites are well kept, large enough for the big rigs. New owners are working hard to present a good experience. They have the campers best interests at heart. We were greeted by a friendly staff and checked in quickly. The deluxe sites are long and bordered on the sides by grass. The regular pull through sites are close and side by side hookups. The seasonal campers are separated from the short term sites. Cable TV and Wi-Fi worked well. The 4 outside restrooms/showers are older and clean, but two of them were closed (for winterizing?) which made the other two pretty busy. There are two more in the clubhouse. This place is on the A-list. Nicely landscaped campsites with large mature trees and grassy areas. The site was far enough away from highway 24 so that the highway noise was not an issue. I had no problem with the campground other then their incessant watering. Staff go to great lengths to keep water hydrated, sometimes irregardless of how this may impact those camping near by. My concern has to do with billing practices. Doesn't seem to matter what your reservation confirmation says, the amount charged can increase, without your knowledge, even after your departure date. Your signature on increases isn't required once you sign the initial entry forms. Campers: BEWARE!!! Wi-Fi was intermittent as was the cable access. Some fellow campers never did receive a signal. But it was very expensive (compared to two other places we stayed at in BV, one of which at least was much nicer in our opinion), very crowded, only has one 50 amp hookup available for two sites (so if you get there after your very close neighbor, you only get 30 amp), and there's no really good place to walk your dog. We found this park very nice. The camp hosts were very helpful and friendly. The sites and interior roads are gravel and well maintained. The Premium pull through site that we stayed in was plenty long enough for our 40' toy hauler. The space between sites was fairly narrow with well maintained grass. The restrooms/showers are the individual type and were kept very clean. There are just 4 showers for the park but since most of the people staying here are probably self-sufficient this didn't appear to be a problem. The Wi-Fi was excellent with easy access and impressive speeds. It was not crowded when we were here so we can't speak for how it operates when the park is full. We use T-Mobile cell service and it was also excellent in this area. The restaurants we ate at were good, with a couple being outstanding. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground, staff very friendly and helpful. Park is maintained and clean. Several seasonal campers, but everyone we met was very nice and friendly. Easy access from highway and convenient to town. No road noise. Couple items you need to be aware of. Some of the pull-through sites share the pedastal for power, one side gets 50 amp, the other site gets 30 amp. One camper pulls in one way, the other camper pulls in the other direction. That means your slides/windows could be about a foot apart like ours was. Very cozy. And they water the area between the sites on a regular basis. If they don't get .3 inches of rain, they water. You can't put mats out on the grass, so you might be stepping out of your rig into wet grass or mud. Lots of large trees and where they parked us our satellite would not work. But they do have very good cable and our Verizon air card and cell phones worked well. All in all, nice park, might stay here again, but would select a different site if possible. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a well-maintained park with a friendly staff. Everything is clean and for the most part, spaces are adequate. The wife said the laundry was one of the best she had used. Wi-Fi was good and there are places in the park you can get a satellite signal. I would have given it a higher rating except the trees and other things obstructed the view of the surrounding mountains which is what makes Buena Vista a special place to stay. Also the sewer fumes were the worse we have encountered. We eventually had to close our valves to keep the fumes out. Loved the park but will stay somewhere else on our next visit so we can enjoy the scenery. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park could be outstanding. It has great amenities, great views and lots going for it. However, our stay was impacted by the lack of staff training for customer. Some of the men on the golf carts were very inflexible, adhering to their schedule in watering, creating mudholes for us to walk through to get into our rig. It is a busy park and traffic is not slow going through it, including the staffers in their golf carts who whipped around the park and through the vacant spaces. These issues, which seem small compared to some, cause us to rate this park more average than it could be. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is without a doubt the cleanest, family friendly campground in Colorado and very high on the list for best nationwide. We have stayed here in the past and will continue to return as long as the park is open or we give up camping. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the park, staff, other campers that come here, the city of Buena Vista, etc. Do not miss staying at this campground, you will not be disappointed unless you have to have a swimming pool. This will sound like I have an axe to grind, and I do. I will say that the restrooms and showers were clean and that the price was reasonable for the area. The slot provided was very tight, so tight that you cannot walk between the two units when the slides are out. You share your patch of grass (about 4' wide and the length of the pull-in) with your neighbor on the other side. Upon arrival, we found a dead (and stinky) rat in the common area grass next to our slot. We asked to move, but were told "that's all we have." Like many, we took our dogs with us on vacation here. From looking around the campground, there appeared to be many, many dogs who were vacationing with their owners. While sightseeing, etc. during the day, we leave the dogs in the rig. A "neighbor" two slots over complained to management of our dogs barking during the day (which they are apt to do when they think someone is outside near the trailer). Management's "option" was to kennel them ("dog-sit") with their daughter for $32/day. When I declined, I was forced to leave. The "complaining neighbor" appeared to be a long-term resident. Money talks, so I had to walk. To management's benefit, they did refund the remaining two nights we had pre-paid. We moved to another park in Leadville, CO which turned out to be terrific, more space, friendly staff (and neighbors), and better views from our campsite (much better than the run-down house which dominated our view at Snowy Peaks). There are better options in the area--especially if you have dogs which may bark and "offend" other campers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second time staying here at Snowy Peaks. The folks here go out of their way to help you in any way. We were late in making our reservation and got a water and electric site only as that was all that was left. It was 30 amp power, but seemed adequate, as it powered all of our coach with the exception of the second air conditioner. It was not hot during our stay so that wasn't much of an issue. Our site was in a back corner, and much harder to back into, but the owner stayed right with me until we were comfortably parked. The roads are gravel, but were leveled with a tractor. We used the laundry which worked fine. We need to call ahead next time to get a sewer site, so we could stay longer. This park is centrally located to many area attractions. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The RV sites are divided into 9 categories, ranging in price from $26 (basic water & elec) to $55 (for the single "premium" site). Our rate of $34 reflects a "standard" pull-through with CATV. The sites are side-by-side, and each of the sites in this category has a small section of grass and shade on the door side of the RV. On the other side, you and your neighbor's hookups are all in a row, so your slideouts can get pretty close (although the staff does stagger where you park). The staff is very friendly and helpful, and are always busy around the park keeping it clean and organized. We looked at other parks in the Buena Vista area and chose this one. We were concerned that the RV park is right next to a set of railroad tracks, but in our week-long stay, we never heard a single train. The only caution we would pass along concerning this park would be for the sites that are close to the highway. These can be quite noisy. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return. Buena Vista is a great location for recreational activities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has several different rate structures depending upon the site, location and utilities. Roads are gravel and wide. Sites are all gravel. Sites were separated by a grassy area and some areas were larger than others. There is a small rec hall. A pool table is available for a fee. There is a book and video exchange. One computer is available for use. Laundry onsite was expensive. There are six showers and bathrooms and they were very clean. Verizon aircard and phone worked well. Even though the park is located right off the highway, it was quiet at night. In looking at other campgrounds in the area, this park appears to be a good pick. The premium spots really didn’t warrant the extra money. Go for the standard site to fit your rig. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Decent park but near the highway. Road noise could be a problem for those sensitive to this. Park advertises "Wi-Fi at your site" but what they don't say is that while it may be at your site, it may not be available in your coach. We could not receive the signal in our coach and had to go to the clubhouse. Bathrooms, while clean, are postage stamp size. Toilet and showers are combined together so good luck trying to find a bathroom in the morning when people are showering. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very friendly people getting us checked in and helping me back into my site. Wide interior roads with gravel parking. The sites have a curb between the grass and gravel, which makes for a very nice looking park. They do warn you that they water the grass so if you have anything you don’t want wet pick it up before they water. Overall it was a very nice park, and we will return. We dropped in w/o reservations on June 30th to stay a day and liked it enough to stay a week. Staff was very nice with organized events. We attended the 4th of July fireworks, a car show and a street dance in the City of Buena Vista. The way the staff parks you, you do have a long ways to the hook-ups, but the view is worth it. We found it very quiet and pleasant (even when full), plenty of shade, level lots and wide streets. The only shortcoming was the poor WiTi. BTW: there is excellent fresh baked, french bread at City Market every afternoon at 4,5, and 6pm. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I reserved site 18, which is a full hookup with shade trees and plenty of length for fifth-wheel, cargo trailer and pickup. All sites have a very nice grassy area and they work hard to maintain the grass (watered, mowed, trimmed). The owner is very courteous and the staff is friendly. One reviewer complained about the distance from the hookups and we agree, but the owner brought us additional sewer hose and an electrical extension at no charge. The reason for this being they stagger the RV's in the long pull-throughs so you aren't directly across from your neighbors on each side of you. Has plenty of shade trees and nice views of the mountains. Roads are well maintained (they filled in the low spots with fresh gravel after a rain.) We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The woman at the front desk seemed quite confused. Spaces were staggered but all of the connections were at one end in the section we were in. We were unable to get reception with our satellite dish because of the trees. If we stayed positioned in the space the way we were led in by the camp host, we would have needed 3 sewer hoses to reach the connection. Spaces were narrow and it was tight maneuvering in the park. Of the 5 restrooms all were locked but one, except during office hours when you could access the one in the main building. The laundry was expensive and small. The trees were dropping some sappy debris that stuck to everything. The ground was covered with them. They stuck to your shoes and then to the gravel, carrying them into your RV. They left yellow sap where they landed on the truck and coach. While we were here, they were using a concrete saw to cut out the sidewalk on one side of the restroom/laundry building. Very noisy and lots of cement dust. We could have been placed away from this as there were plenty of spaces available. Many camp workers were speeding through the park on their carts, easily exceeding 20 miles per hour. Posted speed was 9.5 or 10 depending on where you read it. They watered excessively and sometimes were not careful enough to avoid watering vehicles and RV's. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The facilities were excellent: easy access for a big rig, cable and internet worked well, clean bath house and laundry facilities. The rate quoted reflects a 50% discount through CampClubUSA. The owners are very gracious people and went out of their way to be helpful. The only reason we cannot rate the facility with a '10' is due to the limited access to restroom/shower facilities. Only one per gender was available during our stay. While we understand the need to winterize the campground, there were several occasions that the wait in line for the facilities was very inconvenient. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years. We stayed here for two weeks this year using it as a base for hiking and ATVing. Has resident RV repair guy. Didn't use him. Owner/staff is friendly and helpful. Many seasonal residents who stay all summer or come up from Denver/Colorado Springs area on weekends. Many renters plant flower to spruce up their site. Variety of site types. Most have shade and grass. New area is mostly gravel, but they are working on it. Our daily rate reflects staying in a new one-of-a-kind site. My steps landed within one inch of a redwood deck that had a large cottonwood tree. Deck had comfortable, new plastic wicker chairs, glass top table and settee. Also had a good and hot gas grill. Extra cost was worth the comfort. Put out the hummingbird feeder and had a great place to relax after a day of hiking. Free Wi-Fi worked great. Only had a few hours of trouble early one morning when their router obviously needed rebooting. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park had a very nice set up and the staff was extremely friendly. There was nice spacing with grass in between pads and the Wi-Fi service was strong. This park sits on the north end of town, and, though it is not on the Arkansas River, it does have very nice mountain views out all sides. It also has a nice play scape and swing set for kids, and has some neat cycle-carts you can rent for them. I would definitely camp here again We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have 41 foot coach with four slides. We had what I would call: a premium delux, pull through site which was long and wide enough for any size coach or 5th wheel. These sites are are fairly new and located next to the campground's storage area. Sites and roads are gravel and level. Our site had a very large nice yard including a medium size tree. There are not many planned activities. Traffic noise is not really a problem even though the campground is next to the Hwy. 24. My only complaint is the sprinklers came on every night getting water spots all over our coach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is right on highway so traffic noise was very irritating, day and night. Baths lockable private rooms with stool, sink and shower. We had trees, but most do not. Sites are close. Each site has picnic table and some have grass. We did not feel welcome as the two ladies that checked us in were unfriendly and did not greet us or thank us. Another incident was when I went into office to inform them of a problem we had and the lady stared at me and then said "I don't know, I'm just a workkamper". She was of NO help in solving our problem. We went into rec room for pancakes ($4.00 each) and the owners ignored us when we walked in and said hello. Customers go where they are welcomed and return to where they are appreciated. We felt neither, so won't return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park. Sites are gravel, but ours was perfectly level. We had grass on both sides of our site and plenty of room for our toad, slide and awning. There are plenty of large trees in the park although not right over our site. We had site #48 which is considered a premium pull through. Our nightly rate was due to 50% discount from Camp Club America. Included in that was full cable (58 channels) and free Wifi that was excellent. Electricity and water were good too. The area is very scenic with many snow capped 14,000+ foot mountains. Also a good location for day trips to places like Vail. It is the off season right now since skiing is done, but real summer is not here yet so most parks were pretty empty. However, this one appeared to be nearly full. We would stay here again. This is a family oriented CG with all the facilities. The owner spent the evening giving rides to the campers with his Model A Ford firetruck. Then in a group campfire, he played guitar and several of the campers, sang with him. Mostly country type songs. The sites are a bit tight, and some are back to back with common utilities, but they are fanatical about each sight having green grass. Wi-Fi was provided free. We stayed here over Father's Day weekend. Wonderful experience. Gene guided us to our pull-through site. He even trimmed a tree branch because it was too close to our front door. He said it wasn't an issue for him to cut the branch because if it was too close to our door, it would be too close to others. The sites were newly completed. At 7:30pm on Friday's Gene plays guitar around the campfire. Great time. 60's and 70's songs. The office staff was very friendly. They gave us great suggestions of fishing. We caught several fish at Clear Creek Reservoir. We highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights while looking at real estate for retirement relocation. Very nice family owned and family oriented campground. Many seasonal residents who maintain their plots including green grass. Some spaces are a bit tight for big rigs. They provided expert guided assistance on some tight turns. When my site wouldn't accommodate my rig, they gladly moved me so slides and awning would open. They stagger you in so that you have additional room. Nice long pull through sites, some back in sites and nice isolated tent camp sites. Free Wi-Fi that works very well. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most of the sites are very close together. For the pull-through sites, you park side by side with your neighbor and there is not any space between the opposing slide-outs. When we were here, they had a torrential down-pour and part of the campground was flooded in places with a foot of water due to a drainage problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The roads in this campground are gravel, but we had a nice grassy site for our W&E hookup. Johanna welcomed us and was always happy to answer our questions. The host couple was very nice, and all hosts contributed their efforts to a Sunday morning pancake feed. The campground also had a campfire complete with singing on Saturday night. It is right on US24, but we were not at all bothered by highway noise - we were back and there are trees to block the sound. The awesome Collegiate Peaks are right across the road. You must pay extra to a private contractor for WiFi. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The owners are very nice. The work campers are out of this world, so friendly. The office store just has minimal supplies, not a lot. The Wi-Fi is just a nominal fee with a strong signal throughout the park. All sites are level and grassy. The bathrooms are for individuals and very, very clean. The laundry is also neat and clean. Didin't use, but the clubhouse looked adequate. Very easy ingress and egress. For a nominal fee, you can wash your rig on site. (Nice touch!) Will frequent this park OFTEN!!! This was a nice park. Roads and sites were gravel. We had a pull through site that was hard to get in to due to trees, large decorative rocks and the RV that was in the next site. The RV was close because of the side by side hookups. Once parked, we had a large grass yard with trees and flowers. Most of the pull through sites were similar to ours. Another area of the park had back ins that were easier to get in to. The park was clean and well maintained. There were some seasonals. All in all, we enjoyed the park and would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An older park but everything was clean and tidy. It was one of about three right close to each other, but this one looked the best. Some rental mobile homes in one area of the park, but they were well maintained and did nothing to take away from the park. Lots of folks in for the Summer. Most seemed to come for two to three months. That being said, there were also plenty of folks coming and going each day as we were. Owned by the same family for many years. Definitely the place to stay in Buena Vista. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We liked this park a lot. The sites are very spacious, very well thought-out, with nice paved patios and leveled gravel parking beds. The owners are super nice and have owned the place for 45 years. After a heavy rain, the owner was right out there on a tractor fixing some fresh wash-outs in a few driveways and the road. There are some permanent mobile homes but they are well-maintained and there is no sign that there are any "low-lifes" around. In fact, there are many annual returnees who we met because so many people here are just very friendly. All the utilities were good, including the internet. There's a nice trail right out the back gate, or just down the dirt road makes a nice walk. A lot of folks just walk around the circular road in the park, which also lends to the friendly atmosphere. Also, you can see some of the awesome 14'ers right from the park. We'd definitely stay here again, for the nice park and there's lots to do in the area. BV is not overly "touristy" and the locals are very friendly. I really liked the little 9 hole golf course in town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A couple of the other area RV parks were on the same road and neither looked as nice as this one. This is an older park, kind of eclectic but a great place to stay while in the Buena Vista area. The owners live right on the premises and work hard to keep it up and were very accommodating, even bringing our mail to our door. The sites and roads are all gravel but we didn't notice any problem with dust. The sites are well spaced. There are a few permanent residents in the park living in mobile homes but they are kept up and very neat. The only thing that could be added in our opinion is an off-leash dog walk area. We stayed here while escaping the Waldo Canyon fire. The full name of this park is Valley Mobile RV Park, and the very pleasant owners told me they don't advertise because the fees are so high. Instead they give a 10% discount if you pay with cash or check. This is an older, well-kept park with long, level gravel sites. Access roads are dirt but big rig friendly. All sites are FHU & 50 amp. The park's free WiFi and Verizon service were excellent. Very quiet park mostly populated by friendly seasonal campers who come to fish, hike, river raft, four wheel, and horseback ride. Laundry facilities are immaculate.The park is close to town, and we're looking forward to returning soon. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Super clean and quiet. Spacious sites with grass and trees. Owners are extremely friendly. Park seemed to be mostly occupied by seasonal/full-timers. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We are staying at this RV park and it seems to be fine. It's quiet and the owners are very friendly. We are staying for a month so the price reflects the monthly charge. We will stay a few months here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Shaded campground, level sites. Spacious sites with good amount of room between sites. We arrived at night, so did late check-in. Owner came by next morning just to chat and see how we were doing, not to collect the money. They have owned the park many years, and are very nice people. Park could use a bit of TLC, but overall well laid out, lots of shade, great views. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I was really impressed with the size of the sites and the cleanliness of the place though the last place we were for two months the sites were rather close but it is a nice campground. The owners are really nice and I was helped getting into the site. We had spent a summer in Buena Vista a couple of years ago and really enjoy the area. The AT&T cell service has improved considerably in the last two years and the Wi-Fi here is tolerable ( Tengo Internet ). The neighbors are very friendly and welcoming. This is on our list of places we would spend the summer in. Obviously we would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed a nice site in the rear of campground overlooking the Arkansas River Valley. The sites are long and well spaced with good power and water pressure. We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. Good walking trails back toward the river. Good fishing along the river and many other activities. It is an older crowd as commented by others. We like the idea of no fire pits, for us, seems like the smoke follows me around and I’m allergy to it. Quincy’s is a good place to eat in town. They only have one choice for dinner: steak then on Friday and Saturday evenings prime rib, salad, and potato starting at $10. Would like to return for a longer stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Most of the sites are long term seasonal tenants. The sites in back would be OK (they're plenty large), but be warned that transient sites are nearest (as little as 75 feet) to the highway which is extremely noisy. We were on the highway and thought it was awful. The restrooms were clean but so compactly arranged that one can rest ones elbows on the sink while seated. Clean laundry open all hours. Nice landscaping. Rec hall is a mobile home crowded with sofas, TV, pool table etc - looks well used. Lots of little notices all around to do this and not do that. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Discount for cash or check. Owners are very friendly and keep an immaculate park. Lots of room between sites. One or two pull-throughs might be available but don't count on it. Wi-Fi is occasionally available for a fee from an adjacent campground. We have stayed here several times for several days each time and will do so again. We have observed very few children here, but the park is primarily adult oriented. Occasionally social activities are planned (potlucks, etc.) We camped here in a Motorhome.
