Bonny Lake State Park has closed and is being turned into a State Wildlife Area. I was checking it out for a future stay and found this message at the web site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the reviewers said this was like an oasis, it probably was until some of the oasis began to drop huge cottonwood limbs out of the trees and they had to close off part of the park which took out the pull-throughs. That being said, this was still a beautiful and serene campground. There are a lot of areas to hike and enjoy nature studies and if you are a horse fancier, there is a nice horse coral and lots of riding area. We truly enjoyed this campground and would camp here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful spot! Truly an oasis on the plains, this campground has big trees in most spaces, several pull-through spots for big rigs, and during the summer the campground hosts keep the bathrooms very clean. We were one of only a few campers in this campground. The last night we were the only ones, as even the hosts had left for the season. Most of our fellow campers were hunters. It was turkey season in mid-September. Each space has a picnic table and fire ring, so every night and several mornings we had our campfire. The nightly rate is $18, plus $6 daily fee for park use. This campground is not adjacent to the lake at all, but that was fine with us. We stayed about 5 days, visiting relatives and attending a tractor show in the surrounding area. There is a dump station at the exit, and water is available near the bathrooms. A very pleasant place to stay! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a self serve site with no other facilities but a decent and tidy place to park for the night. The sites are level and gravel. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Located at 330 Old US 24, I-70 exit 438, turn right, right again, and go ΒΌ mi East. We stayed one week at the $100/week rate. This "RV park" is basically a triangle-shaped gravel parking lot with very wide back-in sites approximately 40' maximum length. Our 50 amp connection had marginal voltage. No restrooms are other facilities. $15/night; $100/wk, $350/mo. As this is the only RV park in town, we probably would bypass Burlington next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a large parking lot with electrical poles next to the Fairgrounds. A donation box is on one of the buildings. It is next to the Kit Carson Carousel which is very interesting. Also the rodeo arena and other exhibit buildings. A good place to stay the night if you are passing through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
