This campground could be very convenient if you could get checked in. We tried to stay there but could not get a response from either telephone number listed at the office (which was unmanned). I called and left two messages waiting 30 minutes between each call and 30 minutes after the last call. We never did receive a call back. The permanent residents there were not very neat and one had a dog that continually yapped. We probably were lucky that we did not stay there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This could be such a lovely RV park but instead it is dump. They have permanent residents that don't pick up after themselves. The RV sites are dirt (no gravel) and when it rains it is mud. If you call the number on the office door sometimes you get an answer, sometimes not. When you do, the person only comes when it is convenient for them. It is very sad because with just a little tlc it could be a great park, as the location is great. Sad that it is so ill kept. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The owners of this campground are missing an opportunity. This is the only RV park, located right in Canon City. All the rest are several miles out of town, mostly to the west. Here, you have clear cell service, off air TV, convenient access to all the local eating places, shops, and even movie theaters. (There's a great old theater, The Skyline, still showing movies right downtown!) Problem is, as others here have mentioned, this place is a dump! They have permanent people scattered all over the park, instead of in one area, and they allow them to pile their stuff all over. The smell and sight of dog waste is everywhere. We parked here for a night, hoping we could take it, since we planned a week's stay in the area and liked the location, but we decided it wasn't worth it. Until these folks wise up and realize they have to spend a little time making their property hospitable, we won't be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I will start with the positives first. The hosts are very nice people, you can see some of the Royal Gorge bridge, not far from Royal Gorge Park and Buckskin Joe, and there is some space between the sites. Negatives: The dog leash rule is not enforced by the hosts. While here a group of people camping never had their dogs on leashes. The owners saw this and at one point the smaller dog wandered up to hosts home and hosts brought the dog back asking if dog belonged to them. When told yes, NOTHING was said to them about keeping dogs on leash! Not safe for other people or dogs no matter how friendly the dogs are. WiFi was close to non-existent. Never got above low or no connection even going to pavillion close to dish. The bar across the street has a live band on the weekend and music goes until midnight. Across the street is the helipad for the helicoptor tours. On good days it doesn't stop. Unless you have your own satelittle you will not get TV reception. The sites are decent size but not level so bring blocks and it is dirt with some gravel. If you are close to the road you will definitely have road noise. The campground is for sale so I would not expect improvements. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You can see the Royal Gorge bride from the camp. Park has a nice hostess and host. Does have WiFi, but it's a bit weak when more than 300 feet from office. Sites are decently level, but relatively close together. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Advertised as having Wi-Fi but it was not available and this was one of our reasons for choosing this park. The staff was friendly and helpful, but since Wi-Fi was a requirement for us (cell phones did not work either), we chose not to stay the full month as we intended. While this park was pet friendly it was almost too friendly. Dogs were off leash and were not picked up after which spoiled the surroundings. It is remote and quiet and has a beautiful pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you camp in the high desert you should expect a bit of dust. If that bothers you then you should stick to the parking lot type campgrounds with their nice level cement pads. If, however, you like to get away from places like that and would like a place with the nicest people, cleanest shower/rest rooms, sparkling crystal clear cool pool, beautiful scenery and clean air then Indian Springs should be on your list of places to stay if you in this part of the country. We were there as a group of Marine Viet Nam veterans for a reunion, and the people could not have treated us better. We were there for several days and did not have the time to see and explore all there was to see and do right from the camp. It was unique and one of the most pleasant experiences we've had in a long time. Semper Fi We camped here in a Tent.

I have camped at this campground several times over the past 15 years. It is as the sign at the entrance says: "Quiet, Rustic, Unique". Since it is about 6 miles from the highway it is so quiet at times all you hear are the hummingbirds. It is dry and can be dusty. The sites are not level but not so bad that a board or 2 on the downhill side won't fix. The tent sites are separate from the RV sites and have lots of space. The swimming pool is very refreshing and clean. The showers are being upgraded now. One drawback is a few long term RVs that are rather old. If you dislike crowded campgrounds right on the highway, this place is a nice break from that. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We liked this campground. Owners and office personnel were very friendly and helpful. We wanted a back-in with the concrete patio, which also gave us a view of the beautiful mountains behind. We would definitely stay here, again. This is a good campground!! We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This is the park I will compare all parks to in the future. We just loved it there and hated to leave. To start, it is easy in and out. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The sites are huge; we could put our dogs portable invisible fence out. They are clean and level. The view is wonderful, and it is in close proximity to everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend this park! Our rate includes Good Sam's discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The management team was warm and friendly. They will help guide you to park your rig or even park it for you if you are new or need help. We paid the extra $4/night to have a concrete pad outside the door, which was very nice and worth it. The picnic table was new, clean, and nice enough to serve a meal on without a table cloth. Spaces are extra wide. Mountain range views are spectacular. It is very close to the Royal Gorge access. We would definitely stay there again!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were quoted a price and when we arrived it was not honored. The bathrooms and shower rooms were filthy. My wife said there was long strands of women's hair on the sides of the shower and the drain was full of hair. She had to pull up a wad of hair so the shower would drain. Will not ever stay there again. Only stayed one night and then moved to another RV park. Staff were friendly but did not respond when told a large black dog was running loose in the park. It was still running loose when we left. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice looking campground on a hillside with trees. Nice pool and hot tub. RV spaces are tight. Traffic can be heard all night long going over some type of cattle grate or storm drain grate in the road. Neither myself or my husband got any sleep. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We love camping here every Memorial Day! We've been coming for the last 7 years and love what the new owners have done with the place. Many needed upgrades were done: bathrooms and showers are cleaner, store is updated and additions to the play areas were made. The kids have a great time here. We usually meet friends here and enjoy it every year. I use a pop-up camper here now, but have tent camped and rented one of their cabins with my family two years ago. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We will return!!! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This was pretty much just a place to park the RV. Nothing special, nothing to make it stand out. Restrooms were clean, laundry area was good, staff very friendly. Sites are extremely close together. wouldn't stay there again. The only reason we chose this park in the first place is because of the creepy place we initially were registered at across the street. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Read reviews and had concerns, but purchased a double site and thoroughly enjoyed the campground. Staff was courteous and very helpful. Kids loved the pool and slide. Would recommend Royal Gorge KOA consider an all inclusive price for the amusements. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The nightly rate includes the 10% KOA discount for being a KOA rewards member. This was our first trip to the Royal Gorge area which is absolutely spectacular. I rated this park a 7, but if the park has been fully occupied I would have rated it about a 5. There were only about 8 of us in the park. The sites are extremely close together but it didn't bother us as there were so few RV's there. The roads in to the park were rough and the site was extremely unlevel. The people working at this KOA seemed totally clueless. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The Wi-Fi had a strong signal but the speed was horrible. I can't imagine how bad it would be if the park was even 50% occupied. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Welcome to a gravel parking lot with a few trees here and there. We paid for a premium spot. What we got was less than. A standard spot had trees, burn pit, tables, and were closer to the pool and activities. The premium sites were on the outer edge, with no trees, no table, no burn pit, no Wi-Fi and cost $10 more a night. Check in staff went over ALL RULES and more RULES AFTER the money was handed over. Management made it very clear even though it was Labor Day weekend he was closing the pool at 7 pm Sunday for the season. Plus side, easy pull through sites and close to Royal Gorge. Will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground, but we won't be going back soon. The facilities are quite nice. Very clean, all pull-through and ample length and width. Dog park has grass and there is a large tented area that is the nicest I've seen. We don't use park showers often, but the cost was $1 for seven minutes. Not unreasonable, as they have to haul in water. I would have rated it higher, about an eight, were it not for the attitude of the owner, which was apparent from the second we entered the office. Heard he took over two years ago. Reminded me of some Army sergeants I encountered years ago. Flat affect. If dogs bark, you get kicked out. If dog messes and you miss it, $50 fine or kicked out. Sign telling you to turn in your neighbor if they don't pick up after their dog so he can ask them to leave. See their website for a complete, exhaustive, long, humongous list of rules. Jeez, lighten up! Life is waaay too short! Group rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great place to stay if you are interested in the Royal Gorge. The vintage look of the camp and the rental trailers is just plain fun. The owner-operators are very helpful and friendly. The showers are clean with plenty of hot water. This park does have a pool in the summer, but not in May. The laundry room was clean and convenient, and not expensive. WiFi is free and fast. We easily found TV with our satellite dish. We were charmed by the vintage look and pleased with the friendliness of the owners and happy with the ease of driving our 26 foot RV into a level site with a beautiful view of the mountains. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a dirty, nasty, unkempt poor excuse for a RV park. The sites are small, and they couldn't care less about cleaning up weeds or trash. One night is all anyone could stand to stay there, and we will never go back there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The previous reviewer reported there is no pool. There is a pool. We did not use it as we were very busy with the attractions in the area. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The park is pet friendly with a pet park area and kennels. The retro travel trailers with classic cars parked with the trailer are great. The travel trailers can be rented. There are shady areas for tents. Our cellphones provided little service and the antenna did not provide tv. The rate stated is for Passport America. Would stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
