Awesome, awesome park. The best park we have stayed in within the last six months of our travels. Clean, clean, clean. Big site that brings you back to nature. Lots of trails, and beautiful views. Rangers we deal with or talked to, and there was several, were all first class, friendly, informative and very, very helpful. If we were to give an award for the best park and best staff, this park would win hands down, no question. Stayed four nights. We will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The nightly rate is $24 with an additional $7 per night fee for the RV. The park is VERY nice. It overlooks Colorado Springs as it sits part way up the mountain and is easily accessible to town and to Camping World. Nice facilities, nice staff, nice pull-through spots. It was windy when we were here and we had to bring in the slide out, but we were in the midst of a blizzard warning that fortunately never materialized! Very nice state park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Book ahead. State Park. Newer, well planned, well staffed. Breathtaking views, close to Colorado Springs. Did hear some "booms" from the base one night. Does get very windy at times. Private sites, fun trails to hike. This was at the top of our list of best parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great campground. Loved it. Great, friendly, understanding people running the campground. Nice wide sites and roads. Quaint laundry room with reasonable prices. WiFi and local TV stations worked well. Seasonal residents friendly and welcoming. Close to everything - attractions, restaurants and shopping. Great place to tour from. Would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful view of the town. We are on the top of the mountain and it was not hard to get there. Centrally located easy access to all sites of Colorado Springs. Just off I-25 and not real hard to get to the park but follow the map is very important. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects a Passport America discount. Staff was very friendly and helpful and found us a site large enough to remain hitched. Mostly long term residents, but still maintained. Biggest issue for us was the dog park. It is far away and the path to it was muddy with an unmarked deep hole exposed. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

OK park. Nothing fancy but very liveable. Previous comments apply here as well. Good central location, right between Taco Bell and McDonalds! I think rate a little high for this type of park. Should be $25-$30 dollars but rates have gone up everyplace this year. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My Husband and I could only stay here one night but we wished we could have stayed longer! It is a very nice, clean park. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Facilities were clean, which is always a plus. The space provided for our fifth wheel was a little tight, but again, not a big concern. We will be staying here again if we come through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners of this park try to keep it very neat. It's gravel sites but level with a picnic table and also a stand for a grill, which is nice. There is some noise from the road but overnight it's pretty quiet. There is a trail right outside the gate which is great for walking the dog. The location for sightseeing is perfect with Manitou Springs right up the road and Old Colorado City right down the street. Lots of restaurants & grocery stores very close too. This park is nothing fancy but it's a good location and clean. There are some permanent rigs but they are on the perimeter for the most part. We have a 40 ft & could get in easily. I'd suggest unhooking the tow before pulling in, as it's just easier. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects group discount. I gave it an 8 instead of 10 for two reasons: Small sites and work in progress, literally. It's going to be a 9 soon when pools are readied and the events room and dog run, which looks like a winner, are complete. But while we had plenty of room, it was only because there were so many vacancies. We parked our truck in empty sites. I can't imagine how crowded it's going to be in a month. Sites were level, grounds were spotless and staff was wonderful. One of the nicest campgrounds we've encountered and the only one we've seen within walking distance of several "wellness" shops! Ahh, Colorado! But a great location to see the sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent staff, BBQ dinners and pancake breakfasts are just a few of the extra special features that make this campground feel like a high end resort! Clean laundry facilities and bathrooms and a great playground for the kids. The Midland Trail, paved for cyclists and walkers, extends into Manitou Springs and east to downtown Co. Springs. The outdoors activities are endless in this town and everywhere we went was dog friendly! The nights were quiet and the sites were well spaced, level and offered locations of tree shade as well as sunny pull through sites. There is something for all ages in this area and our stay at Garden of the Gods Campground was a so pleasant that we ended up extending our time out to 2 full weeks. We couldn't have been happier! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a family owned park, and they are wonderful hosts and fantastic people!!! The park is rustic, which is nice and clean, and extremely quiet and "homey"! The location of hookups are odd, but they will be renovating the park this winter while they are closed. They told us they plan to perform many updates in the park. We certainly look forward to returning to see all the improvements and visiting the awesome family! We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are looking to be surrounded by nature and do not have the need for television or internet this is a nice place. The starting rate is affordable, but then they tack on prices for an extra person, using air conditioning and more. They like to charge a lot of extras. We did not attempt television because they told us what to do if we had satellite, so no satellite, no television. They state to have wi-fi, but dial up is faster. I make a living online and my wireless card that is typically slower was faster. They have lots and lots of rules, but do not enforce them. They said you don't need air conditioning, but during the day you do. They say keep your dogs on a leash, but people letting their pets run loose and no one was monitoring them. Oh there is a $1.00 per guest per day if you want company, serious!! I couldn't believe this one at all. Roads are narrow and dirt, the sites are unlevel and you will spend time driving around trying to figure out which site will be the easiest to set up and get level. Other places were booked up or too far away otherwise I probably would not have stayed here. I don't plan on making this the place I stay the next time I am in town for what you pay, I could have stayed at a nicer property and had everything I needed. The staff is nice, but the rest is not worth the money. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice friendly staff. Huge park with many seasonal sites occupied. Dirt roads (no gravel) are rutted badly in places. Electric and water are shared between sites. Extra cord and hose are needed for many sites. Extra charges if you use your A/C or have more than two people. The "fishing lake" is not exactly as advertised either. Park has lots of potential but in bad need of a little maintenance. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 3 nights but the park is really small. Lots of old rundown full time campers. Dog park is a joke. A dirty small walkway that is full of dog waste. I told the manager about it and not sure if anything done. Adjacent street has trash. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

$18.00 rate is Passport America. Office staff friendly and probably helpful. I didn't ask for any help. This CG has the smallest spaces I have ever encountered: My slides were about 24" from my neighbor's on each side and my awning was within 6" of my first neighbor. My second neighbor (very large motorhome and toad) was so underwhelmed he left immediately. My pull-through was not long enough for both 36' fifthwheel and my truck. This park would be nice if it had half as many sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very beautiful place and after staying two days, we will be making plans to return to spend a week or so with our grandchildren. The park has a fenced in dog-park where we were able to let our dog off-leash. If you want to spend some quite time in the mountains be sure to consider Mountaindale. We had no difficulty accessing the park in our 40ft Class A. The free Wi-Fi worked well, even when our Verizon hot spot didn't. The rate we paid reflects our Passport America discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was the second time we stayed at this camp ground. We stayed in August and were thrilled with the campground. This was by far the best campground we have ever stayed in. First off, this park is not in Colorado Springs. it is probably 10-15 miles Southwest of town. That being said, it is a really nice park out in a rural area. The entire park is crushed rock which leads to a small amount of dust. The Wi-Fi and cable TV was some of the best we've used. The staff were very accommodating. Rate was PA. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a week in August of 2003. Quite a few permanent RV's (some quite run down). It was a good place for us since we basically slept at our camper and then went to all the area attractions during the day. Didn't seem to be in the nicest part of town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Says big rigs welcome but there is a lot of trees that needed to be trimmed to allow the larger rigs in. Problems with electric, but they say that will be taken care of. Quite a few long termers as the housing is expensive in Colorado Springs. OK for a overnighter. We camped here in a camper.

We used this park as a temporary one night stay to find another park in the Colorado Springs area for a week's stay. Its an older park that has seen better days. The grounds are overgrown with weeds, the lighting is for the most part, not functioning. Lots of permanent trailers and residents. The trash dumpsters were overflowing. Located close to the airport with the plane noise very noticeable. The staff was pleasant, helpful, and understanding. AT&T and Verizon worked fine. The advertised WiFi was non existent. The hookups were OK but the sites were very narrow. Might be an OK park for a 1 night enroute stay, but only if you couldn't find something else. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 9 weeks at the monthly rate of $450, and a weekly rate of $183. I read the other reviews and can't deny them, however I found the park OK or we wouldn't have stayed as long as we did. It's not that they don't try to keep up the park, because their frequently working. Everyone has a different standard. The owner and help are very friendly and helpful. If you compare this park to the ones on the west side of town, it's not too bad. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park because it was convenient to family members in the area. Park was not well maintained and sites were very close together. It backs up to Peterson AFB and you hear taps, retreat and revielle each day. While it did not bother us, our neighbors complained about it. Appeared to cater to permanent campers. We would only stay here again if we are visiting the same family in Colorado Springs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
