We stayed here for 3 days. The Park overlooks Fort Collins Army Base and Colorado Springs. Sites were asphalt and level, hookups were very good with great water pressure and good electric service. Each site had a firepit, table and tent site. Laundry and showers were immaculate. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had deer in the evening and wild turkeys in the morning by our rig. This was a great place to return after a day of sightseeing to relax away from the city. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Without a doubt, one of the nicest campgrounds in the state park system! We were amazed by how quiet it was given it's proximity to Ft. Carson. The entire campground is spotless! The only reason it didn't get a 10 was the sites were not completely level and there is a goofy incline where you back down into your site, we had site #27. It made unhitching/hitching a little more tricky. All the hookups work great and there was great water pressure. We did wonder about the half dozen sites that were roped off and not in use for some unknown reason. The entry gate said "campground full" but these sites were never occupied. Broken? The campground hosts were excellent and were very pet-friendly. We will be back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park may be the closest thing going to Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World, except there is no theme park. Sites, hookups, bathrooms... everything was spotless. It was almost too perfect. But, alas, there are problems. The park is extremely popular, and the Colorado State Park reservation system is about the nuttiest, most tourist discouraging system invented. You cannot reserve less than three nights ahead. There is a $10 fee to reserve. (And, there is a $6 fee if you cancel.) Anything else, you must do walk in. But, you can only walk in if: A.) You pay the state park fee; B.) You go to the office and see if a site is available; C.) If you are lucky, you can reserve for as long as that site if not reserved. But, if you have to change sites, you will not be able to reserve online OR reserve at the park until the day on the calendar of change has arrived. I needed an attorney and a flow chart to figure it all out. Bottom line: reserve ahead of time, or take your chances. By the way, the wildlife at this park is outstanding. Bears do show up, but don't let that discourage you. The bird life was incredible. We would return here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What a fantastic park. We loved the views and wildlife. As you enter the park there were prairie dogs in abundance with their young running around everywhere along the sides of the road. We saw deer, wild turkey (mom, dad, and six babies) Beautiful areas for picnics, along with many hiking trails. If you are an early riser you can hear Reveille in the morning from Fort Carson, and then you hear Taps at night - what a treat. The Park Rangers and park employees were cheerful and very helpful. We would definitely recommend this park and would love to stay here again in our travels. Three day in advance reservations are required for a reserved space; however, we just showed up and lucked out on an empty spot that is on a first come basis. Also, we had a space big enough for our 43' Rv, with a tow. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I can not say enough great things about this park. Finally a state park that can handle a big rig and with full hook ups! We enjoyed the view from the Raptor Glen area during the day and at night. Every evening at 10pm we could hear Taps being played from Ft. Carson. The hiking trails are well marked. We saw deer, wild turkeys and lots of prairie dogs. We would definitely stay here again and again. The only bad thing is that you can only stay 14 days at a time! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a fantastic State Park. Yes, it's pricy, especially when you add on the additional day use fees they charge (which can be lowered by purchasing a year round pass.) The turn off from Colorado State Highway 115 onto the park access road is a little tight, but after that it's easy going. Our Verizon cell phone and aircard worked and we had no problem with the roof mounted satellite dish. There is lots to do in and around the area, or you can just hang out in the park which has over 20 miles of hiking trails! Just watch out for the bears!! You will be warned about them and given directions on how to store your food, etc., when you arrive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is by far the nicest park in the area and one of the best I have ever stayed in! Walking trails are easily accessed and clearly marked throughout the park. Deer, turkey and prairie dogs were seen daily. The views from many of the sites are incredible. When booking online they provide a photo of the site so that you can see the view you want. We stayed in Gobbler Grove #15 and could not have been happier. Sites on either side of us had equally impressive views. Bathrooms were kept clean by a constantly patrolling pair of maintenance men. Rangers drive through the area at regular intervals. As long as your permits are clearly shown you should not have any problems. We found the Rangers to always be friendly and helpful. The RV area is at the top of the park so you do have a fairly steep pull to the sites. Our site was level and well maintained. Road noise was nonexistent; the only noise you may hear comes from Fort Carson at the foot of the mountain. Reveille at 6:30 and Taps around 10 could occasionally be heard. Helicopters are regularly patrolling the base and distant bomb runs could be heard, curious but never loud. In an area with numerous choices for you to select from, many of them toward the center of town, we found that Cheyenne Mountain State Park was by far the finest and well worth the additional few minutes it might take to get to your destinations. We absolutely love this place since moving to Colorado 2 years ago. We camp here 3-4 times during the season. Word of warning though, you can get some pretty vicious winds in the spring. There are tons of walking trails and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you're only just outside of the Springs. Another note of caution when entering off of Hwy 119 with your rig: turn wide at the road to the park entrance when coming in from town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Paved pads and roads. Hookups were solid. Good valley views. They do not allow dogs on the trails. No wi-fi. No pool, hot tub or other amenities. Looks like the nicest park in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If this is the campsite to compare all others too then everyone else will lose. Imagine eating dinner after sunset from your table by the bay window overlooking the Fort Carson and Southern Colorado Springs area. A million dollar view for $22 plus parking! Cheyenne Mt Park is located adjacent to the infamous NORAD base inside the mountain and across the street from Fort Carson Army Base; bringing home the current war efforts when the bugles played over loud speakers to mourn the loss of our soldiers. Deer, wild turkeys, coyotes, rattle snakes, bears, and birds all were seen or left noticeable tracks. World class hiking and biking trails inside the park (trails leaving from the camping loops). Incredible views, amazing sunrises and sunsets, clouds, fog, warmth and freezing ice all greeted us during our 10 days in October. Frankly, the state of Colorado is going to put any neighboring RV parks out of business with this park. Items of note: the rangers are a bit annoying as they make regular rounds to check parking and camping permits (3-4 times per day we had to display this info); Verizon gets a signal but you do receive heavy interference from the military infrastructure surrounding you; you are 500ft above the city so the weather is colder and a bit more variable; the park is not yet on GPS maps so print directions from their website before rolling out; and you will not want to leave and may stake out permanent residence at the park. Don't hesitate staying here if you are heading towards Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, or Fort Carson. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Simply beautiful! Although there is not much shade, the scenery is breathtaking! To the east, you have an awesome view of the city. It's very spectacular at night! To the west is the imposing Cheyenne Mountain. I can't find a bad site in the lot. Although some are better than others, it's totally preference. The only small gripe I had was the entrance to some sites had a steep to moderate slope. A tip: unhook your spring bars before backing into one of these sloped sites. Other than that, this place is great! Close enough to the Springs to use as a base of operations to see the sights! We will be back again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park is the example all other states should follow. All of the Colorado State Parks are well done, but Cheyenne Mountain tops them all. The campground is opened late in 2008 so all the buildings and amenities are brand new. To the east all of eastern Colorado is at your feet. To the west Cheyenne Mountain overlooks the campground. It's a bit of an up hill drive to get to the CG but nothing to worry about. The sites are all large and afford almost total privacy. Note that some of the 51 sites have a sloping driveway to enter the site and some bigger rigs may scrape their hitch upon entering. Full electric, sewer and water at every site. Make reservations early because as more and more people get wind of this place it will be very hard to get into. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The only way to describe this campground: "If this isn't paradise it close enough for me." Large, private spaces so far from your neighbor that you think the place is yours alone. This is indeed the "Crown Jewel" of the Colorado State Park system. If you don't reserve a very long way ahead you will only get a night or two before you must move. A Colorado State Park permit is required so factor that in your budget. We will return here again..and again..and again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Simply wonderful. One of the best parks we have ever been in! We were in the Raptor Glen loop on site #9 and had unrestricted view of the city. Everything one could want, except internet and cable TV. They do charge a daily entry fee over the daily site rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped in a 45 foot motor home. For a state park, this park rates at the top of the list. The campground opened within the last 16 months. There are paved interior roads and sites. All sites are 50 amp, full hookup. The website gives complete description of each site including a picture. Pay attention to the website, because different sites accommodate various length RVs. Some sites have a steep include to access a level pad. If your rig doesn't have much clearance, beware of the incline. Each camp site has 2 water hydrants, picnic table, fire ring, & approximately 10 foot by 10 foot gravel area for a dining fly with tie downs. The campground even has a camp store like a private park.There are miles of trails lead from each loop of the campground. There are ranger activities. The only thing holding this campground back from a perfect 10 for a state campground is lack of shade for those who want it. The entrance is located across the street from Fort Carson Gate 1 (main gate) on E. J L Heights Rd. The Right turn off Colorado 115 is tricky because of the curbing. Be careful. Proceed through round-about 1/2 mile to Entry Station. There is a fee of $6 per motorized vehicle unless you have an annual pass. Now drive approximately 1 mile to the Camper Services building to pay for the campsite fee unless you made paid reservation via the website. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful RV park. First of all, it is well designed providing well spaced both back-in and pull through spots. Each site is full hook up, 50 amp. There are great views of Cheyenne Mountain and Colorado Springs from all sites - the night lights view of Colorado Springs is great. Facilities are first class and spotless. Trails are well marked, varying lengths and a variety of woods and grasslands. The only downside is no WiFi - which is not uncommon for a state park; but could be added at the Visitor Center. This is one of the nicest places we have stayed, would stay again and highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first visit to Cheyenne Mountain and we think it is an excellent campground. We loved our site--large, private, great views. The campground is quiet and has great trails for hiking and biking. The laundry was clean and reasonably priced. The restrooms were clean, spacious and very nice. We will definitely return. As others have commented, this is a new campground with paved sites. Electrical is 50 amp and the sewer connection is in a recessed concrete area. The CG is very well designed and maintained. There are over 20 miles of well maintained trails that are suitable for hiking or mountain bikes. The bathrooms and showers (pay) are immaculate. The design of the back-in sites is like the spokes of a wheel, so you have good separation from your neighbors. A couple of the back-in sites have a fairly steep ramp section, so be sure to check this on the web site if this will be a problem for you. The trees are mostly small scrub oak and don't provide shade, so this CG could be hot in the core summer months. The only TV reception is over-the-air, but the Colorado Springs TV stations all have their antennas on Cheyenne Mountain, which is right next to the CG. There is no WiFi, even at the visitor's center, so you have to drive a few miles into Colorado Springs to a coffee shop. We will definitely stay here again when we are in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice, new campground with well kept trails and facilities. The park staff does a great job setting and moving around geo-caches for the kids; you can rent a GPS and get the latest coordinates at the visitors center. The grounds are very pretty, but you aren't completely in the wilderness with Co Springs down the hill and a housing development up and to the north. The playgrounds are only for kids up to age 5, so don't expect to amuse your older kids there. There is a 6 or 7 dollar daily fee for your car in addition to the nightly camping fee if you don't have an annual pass, and a motorhome with a toad may have to pay for the second car as well. This is a new state park and all facilities reflect it. All the RV sites are level concrete pads with asphalt drives and roads. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit and tent pad. The camper services building includes a camp store. Views of the city at night are incredible. This is a great park to use as a base to see the sites in Colorado Springs. It is also a great park for local campers to use as a "shake down" trip in the spring or a final trip in the fall. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

My faithful co-pilot and I made a field trip today to Colorado Springs and to this new campground that has opened inside Cheyenne Mountain State Park. These are our impressions. The campground has several different areas. "Raptor Glenn Campground" is 10 sites on a hill with great views of the city. "Gobbler Grove Campground" is 7 sites in a shallow hollow which are more private and wooded. "Swift Puma Campground" is 21 RV sites and 6 tent sites, located in an open area on a hill also with great city views. "The Meadow - Group Campground" is 13 RV sites and 4 tent sites in an open field meadow with group picnic sites connected to the individual campsites. There are numerous fire rings and tables. This campground is so spanking new, I think no one has camped here yet! It was completely empty except for some maintenance crews roaming about. We had the place to ourselves. It's situated on a gradual hillside next to Cheyenne Mountain itself. All new buildings/showers and lots of good signs. All the roads are well paved and the sites are concrete pads. There are 51 total RV sites: 14 pull-throughs, 37 back-ins and 10 walk-in tent sites. All RV sites have water, electric (30 and 50AMP), and sewer. This includes the group camp area. The group area also has supplemental water spigots in addition to the ones at the sites. There are heavy tables and fire rings with covers at all sites. While most sites are back in, they all appear able to handle at least 35 ft rigs. The turnabouts are wide and I would feel comfortable turning my TT around. The initial climb from the entrance gate to the campgrounds, is a little steep, about 10% in spots, but the roads are wide and well-constructed. The State Park is obviously a work in progress and you can see where more sites are planned. Overall this is a smaller campground, but a welcome addition to the area. We enjoyed two wonderful weeks at this new Resort Park which is still adding improvements. As we look eastward, we look down on a beautiful city and a stunning city in the lights of evening. Looking westward, the impressive Rocky Mountains rise abruptly from the plains to an elevation of 14,100 feet. We could even see the rocks of the Garden of the Gods from our site. Looking westward, one would not ever think there was a large city only a few blocks away. In addition to being a gracious hostess, Staff provided the name of a competent serviceman who repaired a major water leak in our slide out area the same day at a reasonable cost. The sites are spacious and smooth. This will be our home whenever we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The "4" rating is because the park has "resort" in its title: there's no way this park qualifies on that account; does not even have picnic tables. The laundry room is a shack (literally), I didn't even go in it when I saw that it had only a single vent sticking out of the wall. There is no recreation, not even a club house. The water connections are very low to the ground. The day we pulled in, it was raining and our connection was under water. I asked the manager for a different site and after hesitating for a bit we got one. It seems a good third of the people here are residents working the construction trades. You get a lot of noise from US-25. On a positive note. The park is very conveniently located. It's about a mile into the downtown, a Wal-Mart just half a mile away, and it's just a couple miles to Gardens of the Gods and Manitou Springs. The manager seemed very friendly. The sites are generous sized, no problem backing in (all sites are back-ins). If we ever came this way again, I'd probably try to find something outside of this area but, after researching other parks in the urban area, this one, expense wise: is in league with others. NOTE: Price reflects a week's stay here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has been open two years, so has not reached full potential yet. That said, there is a great view of town yet also saw two deer running through the park. If you like large sites and elbow room; this is the place. The owners are great and even helped with a mechanical problem we had that could have ended our trip. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here and will stay here whenever we are in this area.The manager is awesome and a wealth of information as she has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years. She knows where to go and what to do. The park has free WI-FI and laundry facilities and because of this I believe it is a very quiet park. The views are breathtaking. Pros: Great location, very friendly staff, mostly level sites, relatively cheap rates (rate shown is weekly). Cons: Has a winding and steep entry, confusing space layouts, soft gravel spaces after rain (my front supports sank 6" after a rain). I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have been here for several months and find this the best place of all that we looked at. We checked out all of the places within 30 miles of Colorado Springs. The lots are level and everyone here has been so friendly and been so helpful. The area here is close to all kinds of shopping. We plan on staying here for quite awhile. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in a cabin at this EXCELLENT RV resort. We will stay here again next year! The staff was very courteous and accommodating as due to a death in the family we had to change our reservation to an earlier date. They changed our reservation without a problem. In addition, we had a long drive on the day of arrival. The resort kept in touch with us all day and when we arrived approx. 8 p.m. someone was waiting for us. They even had already turned on the heat in the cabin! What a welcome surprise after our long drive. The camper we stayed in was in excellent condition and fully furnished including bed linens, plates, cups, silverware, pots & pans, dish towels, etc. I had not expected this and it was truly wonderful to be able to just bring in our bags and relax after a long day's drive. I highly recommend this RV Resort and we plan to stay in one of their cabins again next year as well as many years thereafter! We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Sites were good sized. Park very convenient to Colorado Springs activities, yet you didn't feel like you were camping in the middle of a city. Great views, quiet, clean and well kept up. Manager was extremely helpful and looked out for our interests, making sure we would have a site where we felt comfortable (we have a 45' motorhome with a motorcycle lift on the back) Would definitely stay here again. If you want to be in the heart of the city, this is the place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a new park - still being completed. The sites consist of a thin layer of gravel over soil which is muddy on wet days. There are no picnic tables, no trees, no grass and no plans for grass. Some sites appear to have seasonal occupants and are a bit messy. The management is friendly and helpful. This could be a very nice place when it is finished - not too close to the highway and nicely positioned between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very new park located close to everything. The sites are gravel and do have a slope, but you will want that with the rain that falls in this area. The access roads are paved and wide, easy access for a big rig, I pulled a trailer behind a 42' big rig and was able to turn around on both levels of the park. Some steep ramps, but you are literally at the base of a mountain, so you should expect some incline. The camp hosts are very helpful and everyone camping there was nice. There are some work campers and full timers, but everything looked nice and tidy. I don't understand the earlier post stating it was a bad park, the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Wal-Mart a few blocks away. All the usual fast food, although I would avoid the Texas Road House there, they do not know how to cook a steak like a real Texan. 5 miles to Manitou Springs and the Pike's Peak Cog rail, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, all the sites are very close. Don't miss the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Roy Rogers Tribute tower up the mountain is included in your zoo admission. We did an Elephant encounter that was amazing, Lucky the elephant painted us a picture! Back to the park, big spaces, fantastic view, cabins available! We stayed 10 days, the week rate was $175, ($25 a night!) the last 3 days was $121.50 ($40.50/night). Stay a week or two. We will be back as soon as we can. Lots are for sale, and they eventually will be a private park. The other parks in the area had the campers packed in like sardines, this is the best place if you need space, like next to your rig for a toy trailer and pig hauler. :) We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place with great views. New park, and with all of the rain that Colorado Springs has had it is very green. The manager was very nice and very helpful with information on the Colorado Springs area attractions. Met with others Rv'ers in the park that are working in the area and are from the Military bases, great new friends. Will come here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park is still being built, but none of the sites that we saw were extremely level. They were all gravel and when you put your jacks down, it is soft ground, so the gravel shifts and you don't get an accurate leveling. Also, some of the sites have the water/sewer/electric on the wrong side. The laundry facility only had one washer/dryer and there were no bathroom/shower facilities. Sites were fairly large and wide. Owner was very nice. Nice view of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Wal-Mart within 1/2 mile. Would probably stay here again, as the other RV parks that we saw in the area were like parking lots with about 6 inches of space between the units. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the worst parks that I have ever stayed in. Let's start off with the fact that when we arrived no one was there, only a note on the door telling us to find our own site. There isn't a level site on the premises. The park is set on a hill and the road leading to the available sites it almost straight up hill. The sewer hook ups are on the wrong side on several of the sites. The cable TV coax was missing the needed ends. Most of the sites are occupied by permanent "campers". I talked to one that had been there for several months. The place was covered with weeds. We had some mechanical difficulty without coach and the service man told me that this part of Colorado Springs is not very safe at all. I would stay away from this place at all costs. We were scheduled to stay here for two night, but left after one. I complained to the "manager". All she would tell me is to let the City of Colorado Springs know I was unhappy as they designed the park. Unbelievable. The owners are trying to sell these sites. Good luck. The only reason that this park didn't receive a "1" is that their electric was solid. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendliest park manager this side of the Mississippi...we feel like we are being catered to as VIP's in a four star hotel. Although a new park and not 100% complete, it is definitely on the right track. With wide, long sites and wifi throughout the park (we are using our Sprint and Verizon wireless cards with full bars), there is not a bad spot to be in. Even though it is close to a major road and highway, the park is quiet at night with great views of the downtown lights and mountains and the Garden of the Gods during the day. The park is very clean as is the laundry facility. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I just wanted express my satisfaction with Foot Of The Rockies RV Resort in Colorado Springs. The campground is new in the area, and is designed to handle the new rigs, larger, longer and wider footprint with room left over. On top of this their rates are the best in the area. The management staff has gone above and beyond to make sure my experience staying here has been effortless and enjoyable. When I was having problems with my Wi-Fi signal they immediately call their consultant to see if there was anything they could do to improve the signal to my RV. The consultants came out and made adjustments to the system at least twice, that I know of, to make sure they had done everything they could do to keep me as a happy camper. Good job Foot Of The Rockies, keep it up. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Incredible panoramic views overlooking downtown Colorado Springs, the mountain range and Garden of The Gods. This very friendly RV park sits up on a hill that looks over the entire city and all of it's majesty. The park Manager is very helpful and friendly. Wider than normal spaces allow extra privacy. This park is much more pleasant than the others in the area in lot size, views, friendly staff and ease of access to the sites. Pet friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I was looking around for a RV park that I could stay for 3 months in the summer in the Colorado Spring area and found out there are not any to be had. Then I was told about this new one called Foot of the Rockies. It has a great location to all our needs and wants I was looking for. It is located at the intersection of Highway 24 and 8th street. All the other parks I visited were very close to the highway and had plenty of noise, one had trains on the back door, I 25 out the front door and to air strips that flew over. The others were either on the highway and noisy or way out in the country. This park is not finished yet but it has the greatest view and very quiet. I am looking out at Pikes Peak on one side Garden of the Gods on another and the city of Colorado Springs on a third. This park will be my first choice when I return this area. They don't have rest rooms or washing facilities yet . We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV park is brand new as of Feb. 2009. In fact, we were the first to use our particular campsite and some sites do not yet have fully operational utilities. The number of available sites is variable as they are actually for sale with or without a portable cabin. They do not mention whether purchased lots will be available for rent when the owner is not here. The promotional material does not show a restroom/shower building nor any amenities other than the campsites (all back-ins). At this time the landscaping is unfinished and they are still trying to complete construction. The Wi-Fi, while free, requires that your browser load a disclaimer page before being logged-in which shouldn't be a problem, but for this Mac user it has taken every trick I can come up with to get and stay logged-in. The surface of the sites is covered with a dirt & gravel mixture over loose dirt that is very, very soft. If there had been any threat of rain or heavy snow, I would not have risked having the trailer sink up to its axles. In spite of the hassles, we would stay here again because the rates are low, it's very conveniently located only a quarter mile from I-25, and should be nicer when the work is completed. If you come here, be aware the connecting road to the busy city street is very tight at the intersection, especially if another vehicle is in the oncoming lane waiting to pull out. We missed by inches hooking our trailer wheels on the corner curb. Lastly, some sewer connections are on the wrong side requiring a very long hose. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What this campground has going for it is location. Close to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Pike's Peak Cog Railway; you can walk to Old Colorado Springs and it's convenient to fast food and other restaurants, drugstore, Safeway and not far from Wal-Mart. Also, the park personnel are friendly and helpful. What's bad about it is extreme traffic noise and tight spots, narrow and short. There is a small concrete pad with a table, but the parking spot is mostly dirt with a little bit of very small gravel, so you track the rocks in on your shoes. We would probably stay here again because of the location, but some regular gravel spread around would be a big improvement. Wi-Fi and cable worked well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As other reviewers have noted, this is in the city. That means it's accessible to Old Colorado City but it's noisy. There is barely a blade of grass, courteous people on check-in, Wi-Fi is fee (not free) and the restrooms are adequate, but strange. You have to punch in a code and turn a special knob to get in; the shower stall I used was tiny and the shower activator is a push-button on a timer. Won't come here again, ever. Friendly folks but the campground was fairly quaint for lack of a better term. Pretty noisy from the highway as there was no barrier to the sound of big rigs coming down the hill and general city traffic noise. The restrooms/showers were marginal. If I'm greeted by spiders I'm not usually a happy camper. Though we were planning to stay in the Springs for a few weeks, we moved on after a night. Too bad though, with a noise fence and some sprucing up, it could be a much nicer campground and it is otherwise excellently located, convenient to the things we were there for. This is an older park surrounded on three sides by roads with heavy traffic, so it's not quiet. \Rates seem high considering there aren't many amenities. Spaces are average but park roads are narrow and there isn't much room for wide turns. There are quite a few full-time residents and some of these lots are junkie. Big rig friendly, I don't think so. Very tight, cramped sites. Not very level. Busy highway w/i a stone's throw w/ quite a lot of emergency vehicular traffic. Really have to be on your toes to find the entrance (Between McDonalds and Taco Bell. Made to seem worse ad set up and take down was in rain. As said by others kinda pricey for what it offered. Was there for 2 nights, would not have wanted to stay very much longer. Not sure if I'd use it again. Didn't attempt to use the WI-FI, rather used my AIR card which worked well. This Park is not very well maintained,& sites were not level. The Park has mostly full time people living there, with run down unsightly units. It is very close to a main highway, so the traffic noise was very constant, and hard for sleeping. Quite pricey for what they had to offer. They have a small sign at the sidewalk, which is not easy to see, hence we had to go around the block twice as we did not see the sign. Would not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is very close to restaurants and attractions. Park staff is very friendly and helpful. They were able to get two spots together in one day notice at 4th of July. Unfortunately we were not able to camp here. The spots are too close together for our 31 foot rigs with the slide outs. Many of the spots are occupied with full time residents, and most of the rigs were in need of repairs. Navigating through the park was next to impossible. With no space to park a tow vehicle, at your site, most vehicles were in the two roadways through the park. One couple even had to move their truck so we could get past. We paid for one night but ended up leaving before we even set up and went elsewhere. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park. We stayed 4 days in motor home. Had a level site with cement pad with table on it. Also sites have fire ring. They cook breakfast and dinner (great barbecue). Staff was very friendly and helpful.We had a guide to our site. Only drawback is you are a little close to your neighbors when you have a site near the stream. Roads are not paved other than that it would get a 10.We will stay again when we go that way. We camped here in a Motorhome.

You have couple one lane blacktop roads in park. All sites are some what gravel and close to level. Most people on outside ring live here full time and never move. Two rows down center are for people who come and go. Park sits on Fountain Creek. Lots of road noise here 24/7. Staff was very helpful at check in. A great location to see Colorado Springs. Park has been under new management since last year. I'm a full timer there and thouroughly enjoy it. Cable will be back within a month, the wireless signal is great from all sites, and the new owners are working hard to ensure that it's a park people want to visit. They don't tolerate drugs or violence in the park and are quick to help when asked. There are no more fences up around sites (haven't been in 3 years that I've been there), and they now have cabins as well. Fountain Creek runs through the park, and while currently there is tent camping and a few creek side spots available, the city of Colorado Springs is going to make a river walk alongside the creek so those spots will disappear by the end of the summer, I think. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I really liked the price and the location of this campground. The campground is right behind one of the 2 main Colorado Springs "strip of shops" that you can walk down. You are close to all of the fun stuff in Colorado springs. When I travel I like to stay where I can see the owners of the campground actively watching over stuff. Great Location for base camp to see the sites in and around Colorado Springs. Super helpful
friendly staff. The access and sites are extremely narrow and the trees are badly in need of trimming. Some had to be trimmed just to get us to and into our site. Once in our site we had enough room to open our slides but not the awning. We were so tight on the side with the sliders that the only way to access that side of the coach was to crawl under the slides due to permanent fixtures including a fence erected by our neighbors.. The real problem with the campground is that it is mostly seasonal both of our neighbors had fences so even getting access to the hooks ups was made more difficult. We had made reservations months in advance and confirmed we had requested two sites together and told no problem since we were traveling with another couple and would be in Colorado springs for several days.. But when we arrived we were told that they did not have two sites together...Once settled in between two seasonals every thing worked out if you discount the seasonals behavior... When we left we had to get the camp staff to knock on trailer doors to get vehicles moved so we could pull out of our site. The staff tried but had little success so we unhooked our dingy and backed out and went down the other lane where the staff was able to get vehicles moved.. Very poor pet facilities. They have a form that must be signed relative to pet restriction ...Just the typical stuff..The seasonals seem to operate from a different set of rules We will look elsewhere next time our travels take us to Colorado Springs..But there isn't a better location.... We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic park. Friendliest staff and cleanest restrooms of any park we stayed at this year. Will definitely come back for a longer stay. Very convenient to all local attractions. Restaurants within walking distance. We camped here in a camper.

Park has friendly, helpful staff. This is a great location to several of the attractions in Colorado Springs. Biggest drawback is the uneven sites. We had a pull through for our 40' DP and toad. We spent almost 2 hours trying to level it and keep the tires on the ground. Several blocks and boards later we succeeded. Laundry was clean and equipment worked well. There was a BBQ for dinner one evening with live entertainment. Our location gave us front row viewing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a typical big park in a highly touristy area. The sites are on top of each other, especially for big rigs. I had to be quite careful not to run over the sewer connections. Our lot was not even close to level, and required the full length of our leveler jacks to be even near level. The bathrooms were cleaned every day, but with so many folks using them, they suffered from sand being tracked into them. On a positive note they had food catered into the park for evening meals, which was a nice touch. It is just too many folks jammed into too small an area, otherwise nothing is really wrong. I sighed with relief however, as I pulled out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our first stay in Colorado Springs. We were disappointed with the park from the get-go. The prices are outrageous for a gravel site. We had trouble with backing into the site with little help from the park attendant who didn't seem to know what he was doing. The Wi-Fi didn't work and when it did, it was very slow. Some of the park staff was pretty unfriendly and many of the other guests were as well. We will not likely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The Good. Clean Showers and minutes from all attractions. The Bad. Very tight spots, lots of road noise and high fees. This has been my worst stay yet. The spaces are extremely tight and the road noise never stops. If you don't mind the noise and hearing every word that your neighbor says, then you might like it. The front desk folks are very friendly and they show you to your tight spot, so good customer service. I would suggest staying at the state park nearby as the sites are much bigger and road noise is no where nearly as bad and half the cost. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This RV park is very clean. The roads are asphalt, not dust. There are quality wood picnic tables. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restrooms and laundry area are clean with tile floors. Not recommended as this is an over priced old park not equipped for today’s rigs with arrogant management. We missed the park because an exiting Motorhome was blocking the low level entrance sign and had to drive through 3 miles of the congested tourist trap street until we were able to turn around at a rotary. After paying $300 for a week, we were then directed to our site where we had to back uphill 150 yards, carefully avoiding the vehicles parked in the road, into our inadequate sized site at the dead end. Except for the smallest cars, there is no room for parking at 98% of their sites. The redeeming factor was that the sites around us were too small to be used so the population density around us was low with no traffic and we parked in an empty site as did most of our neighbors. Utilities all worked fine but no cable TV at our site. The Wi-Fi worked well most of the time. The final insult was a note taped to our door the day before we were scheduled to depart reminding us checkout time was 11 AM and that our card will be charged $3 for every hour we were late. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is a great location if you are looking to do some day activities around Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. It has some descent shade trees in many sites. The pool was nice. The park was generally quiet in the evenings. Internet was free, but painfully slow. Office staff was very friendly and helped us out with a few things when we asked. You can't beat the location of this park smack between Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City. The park is very clean and the staff are friendly. We didn't even need to exit our rig to check in and someone assisted us to our site. Two pools, one adults only were well kept. The park also has a nice play ground and game room. The roads are TIGHT and in several sites there is almost no where to park a vehicle. However $42 (+$3 extra a night for an additional "adult" 7 year) was the cheapest site they have and for that much money I was un-happy with a few things: The park has a tent area but they let people set up tents in RV sites. The free Wi-Fi was very slow or did not work. I used my air card most of the time. As I said there is very little parking at some sites and no overflow parking that I saw. We'd stay here again but not without looking around first. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Found out when we checked in, that a plumbing problem had our camp cabin unit, was out of service. They upgraded us to a Mountain Suite! This is definitely the best park to stay in around Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs. We checked out several parks in the area and we were so glad we chose this one. It is literally right next to the Garden of the Gods and the views there are amazing! Would definitely return to this park! We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Nice quiet campground with plenty of shade. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained. The store closes early, so make sure you have ice when you check in. They have an adults only pool and jacuzzi, which are centrally located. Overall, a very nice place to stay, and we hope to go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we made our reservation only back-in sites were available due to the Memorial Day weekend. Not our first choice, but since we were staying for 14 days, not a big deal. On this site, the park is listed as having cable, but that is only for a small number of Premium sites. Our "Deluxe Back-In Site" didn't qualify. The location of trees to the rear of our site prevented us from using our dome-mounted satellite TV dish. Park was busy over holiday weekend, but settled down after that. They have a separate 21 and over pool--great idea! Facilities were excellent. Good power, water, and Wi-Fi signal. Clean restrooms and showers. Excellent food options brought in by outside vendors during the week. Very good BBQ and breakfasts at reasonable price. Location is excellent to most of area attractions and I-25 gets you North or South quickly. We paid $42 per night (weekly rate). We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is probably the best of the RV parks in Colorado City. It is clean, pretty well organized, and has all the amenities you would want in a resort. While the pool and other summer amenities weren't open while we were there, I can see where this would be a great summer stop. There are separate pools for adults and family. Probably the best part of the park is that it is close to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Seven Falls, and so many other great attractions in the area. Some of the motor home sites could be seen as a little narrow, but for us, it was not an issue as we were doing a good deal of touring the area and didn't use the awning. And from our site we had a great view of snow covered Pikes Peak...which beats out the awning issue!!! We will definitely stay here again while in this part of Colorado. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Yes, the park is in their off season until May which meant most of the amenities were closed, as was the case with all of the parks in the area. Overall a decent campground. Sites were of a decent size, red rock gravel under large trees. Lots of wildlife visit this park. The park is very close to Manitou Springs and of course the Garden of the Gods among other attractions. We were unfortunately there when most of the campground amenities were closed for the winter. The restrooms/showers were fine but the hot water was slow in coming and not every shower was equal in terms of water temp and pressure. The laundry facility was excellent. Bathrooms were clean - hot water a little slow - laundry very nice - the least expensive of all the places we have stayed. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with an extra propane tank having a hole in it and they were very helpful and seemed very interested in helping us find the best solution. The problem was resolved and the maintenance people went out of their way to assist. The campground is all gravel but our lot was very level. We did have full hook-ups and cable - we did not use Wi-Fi because you paid, however, our AT&T GMS worked fine. It is a little run-down but from of the looks of other area campgrounds, was probably one of the best. We would stay again if ever in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an older park that does need some updating. The sewer connections in the ground are too close to where the camper has to park. Plus there is almost always a sewer smell. They say they have Wi-Fi, but you do pay for it, unless you want to take your computer to the office each time you want to use it. There are very few sites with TV cable. Now the plus about this campground is staff is friendly and helpful. Restrooms and showers were clean. We probably would not stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

It's one of those bigger parks stuffed into a smaller park size. It was a bit tight for us to get our 40' coach and tow around and into the site. Our particular site was fairly out of level and required some jockeying around to get somewhat level. Also, the on-site "store" is nothing to speak about. If you need any items, even the most basic, better stock up before you arrive. They have a nice pancake breakfast but of all the breakfasts we've done at parks, this was one of the more expensive. The park is a bit tricky to find as it's a bit off the beaten path. The road construction near the park only made matters worse. Exiting the park is a bit of a trick too as the big rigs must travel through residential neighborhoods to get out. Neighborhoods with lots of low hanging tress and no clearly marked street back to the main highway. On the good side, the park is clean and seems to be well maintained. It's in a great location for a base camp to visit many of the attractions on the West side of The Springs. We'd stay here again without much hesitation. Even though it's not ideal, it's probably the best RV park in this particular area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were a little disappointed in this RV park, although if I would have read more of the reviews on this site I wouldn't have been surprised. First, check-in was smooth, and the staff is friendly. The first surprise was when I went to hook up the advertised cable TV, I couldn't find the connection. I went to the office to inquire about this and was told that although cable TV hookups are available at some sites, most of the park is not wired for cable. Obviously, our site was one of those that did not have cable. I think their site and brochure should state that cable TV is available at "select" sites. Similarly (as stated by other reviewers), they advertise Wi-Fi. It is true that Wi-Fi is available but it does cost extra ($4.95/day). Our site was not level and, yes, the sites are very tight. We had to settle for a back-in site, and although our RV is only 28' there wasn't a lot of room in front and back to maneuver to try and get our RV level. Side-to-side, the sites are also very tight. The good news is there are trees for shade, but they can definitely restrict your ability to open your awning, like it did us. Our site also slanted from back to front which did result in our sewer line going slightly uphill. Probably our biggest complaint is that although their rules state "tents are not permitted on your RV site", that didn't stop the staff from assigning the space directly behind us (right out our bedroom window) to campers in a tent. Like I stated earlier, the site was not real long so the tent behind us was extremely close. Although the campers in the tent were not overly loud, just the simple fact that they were in a tent meant we could hear them talking when we were in our bedroom and trying to sleep. There is a tent area in the campground, but this tent was nowhere near that. The location is good and close to several of the main tourist attractions in the area, but they definitely need to make it more clear what amenities are available and adhere to their own rules (i.e., no tents in RV sites). We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground for two nights recently. We paid for a premium site, but were very disappointed with the site. It was in the shade and near a ugly-looking stream. The site was unbelievably small for a "premium" site. In the back was a tree that prevented us from going all the way back. On the one side was a tree so we had to go even further forward to allow the slide to come out; on the other side was another tree so we couldn't put out the awning. The "heated" adult pool was heated by the sun to a cool 68 degrees I would guess. Some other premium sites were nice, pull-through sites or at least good-sized and level. We wouldn't have minded the site so much if we weren't charged for a premium. The location is good. There was no cable TV at the site I was at. There is WIFI but it is a paid service--not included in the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

It is an ideal location. The site was small for a premium, but had a concrete pad and all the amenities. We did not find the small site to be a problem since we were out most of the time, exploring the area. The kids liked the pool, the staff were friendly. Stayed here for a week. I thought the sites were too close. The area we were in smelled like sewage at some times during the day. They had almost nothing in the camp store. Wi-fi was an extra charge and did not work well, and the price for what we got was high. I am not sure that this was the not the case in other campgrounds near by. Unlevel sites and the sewer line had to run uphill, so when we drained the tanks, we had to lift up the sewer hose to get it to empty. Lots of trees so difficut to get satellite TV and the cable is pathetic with 12 channels and bad picture quality. Very tight for big rigs with lots so narrow, we could barely get out the slides and open the awning. Big pile of dog crap at our front door one morning. No dog run, so many take their dogs into the picnic area, where people eat when BBQ and breakfast is offered. I would not stay here again. High prices for very little. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There was nothing "Premium" about our pull thru spot. First off, there are lots of tight turns to get in here and we had to unhook the toad to park. Second, the sites were way unlevel, so there was not enough suspension travel in the coach to get level. Third, the site we were in didn't have 50 amp power as billed. We spent an hour troubleshooting the coach for electrical problems after contacting the park people. Then one of the other park guys says, "Yep that site only has 30 amp service to that 50 amp plug". Would have been nice to know going in. Since I left early the next morning, I called them about the issue; still no call back from them after 5 days. There is no way this park is a 10. All in all, this is a nice place to set up home base if you're planning on spending some time in the area. It is very clean, has lots of great amenities (barbeques, ice cream social, internet in the office, etc). The people were all very nice and check in was a breeze. I have three beefs: Our site was far from level (very far), the sites were quite small and cramped (some of the fifth wheels didn't fit and hung out in the road) and the cable TV did not work. We were in one of the new pull thru's. This was a premium site and the cost was $49/nite plus tax. This struck us as very steep for what you get. Wifi was available at an additional charge of $4.95/day. Our Verizon Wireless card worked great. The pull through required us to disconnect the toad because it was short. Our sewer connection was 3 feet from the adjacent picnic table and our slide was over one side of that table. The neighbors slide on our door side was over our picnic table. His sewer connection is right beside our table. Our satellite connection worked good. There are no fire rings in the area around us. We have a slight view of a mountain. The park is fairly close to rt. 25 and is easy to get to. It abuts a main road but seems quiet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a month Oct 2008 and month in April 2009. This campground has improved very much with new owners in last two years. This is one of our favorite places. Staff is friendly and helpful. The good news is this park finally got cable! The bad news is that red stuff on the "decorative red gravel" gets all over your RV and it's hard to keep clean! The red gravel is a nuisance! As for the cable, currently it is installed in rows B and C. The cable is limited, just some networks, Travel, CNN, Discovery, Weather, and some "who cares" channels. Each RV spot has a picnic table and fire ring. The spots in Row A are against the fence which backs up to a busy road. Those spots appeared quite narrow and small. I was in Row B (considered a "Deluxe" site, also "back in"), and I could still hear some road noise, but it was not too bad. At the time I checked in, I was told that the "pull through sites" were not available. That would be Rows D, N, and M. Those sites are "Premium" and are extra long. At the time I was there, it appeared to me that their "Premium" sites were being converted to "back to back" sites because there was evidence of "recent ground disturbance" down the center of Rows D, N, and M, dividing the rows in half. In those rows, the electrical poles had two sides with two connections, same with the water spout. A contractor was there doing some "sewer work" on Row D. Who knows? There are two laundry with rest room areas, but at the time I was there, only the one near the office was being used, and it required a code. The one on the other end was locked, did not appear to require a "code", and appeared to not be in use at this time (off season). The washers in the office area have three different prices, depending on whether you want cold ($1.25), warm ($1.75), or hot ($2.25) water. However, the washers were those great front loaders! The dryers were those huge commercial type ones. The sign says you get 5 minutes for each quarter, but that wasn't true. It was actually 5 minutes for the FIRST quarter. Subsequent quarters added 10 minutes. $1.25 gets you 45 minutes and I dried three washer loads on that. However, some of my clothing got a bit "fried" when I used the "hot" setting on the dryer. The price I am showing is for a "Deluxe" site during the "off" season. The park has a pay phone if you need one. I was told WiFi is free if you come in the office, if you want it at your site, it's through Tengo and you pay. However, from my site in the upper part of Row B, I was able to detect an unsecured wireless on a sporadic basis. I'm not sure if this unsecured wireless belonged to the park. When I couldn't get that signal, my Verizon Aircard worked well. There is a public transit stop with frequent service right outside the gate for those that don't tow a car. The campground staff told me that Enterprise delivers rental cars to the campground for those who need that option. It was good value for the money during the "off season." I don't think I'd want to be here during "high season." We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park that looks like it has been upgraded in the past few years. The staff were friendly and knowedgeable on the area. We agree with the previous review. The park is very nice to look at, but falls very short in the details. We had to go out and buy additional lumber to be able to level our RV. We noticed several others with wheels off the ground in order to be level. The coach next to us had Hydro Hot. The sites were so narrow that I had to close our bedroom window because the fumes (and noise) from the Hydro Hot came right through the window. This is the highest price we have paid since we left home in May, but it is far from the best spot we have had. Even with a discount, and none are offered, this campground is too expensive for the experience provided. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is conveniently located near Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods Park and Manitou Springs. Interior roads are all paved and the mostly-shaded sites are either gravel, dirt, or a combination. This is a popular park for families with children when school is out, and there are ample recreation activities (game room, pool). Pets are welcome but folding pens are not. Most sites will not be satellite-friendly. There are sites of various different sizes, with the majority being smaller ones that would handle rigs up to 30-35’. Sites are relatively close together; our patio awning and the neighbor’s window awning almost touched. Some sites won’t have room for a rig and separate vehicle; parking spots for cars and trucks are sprinkled throughout. Very few sites are pull-thrus, and most sites will be difficult for leveling. We had a site near, but not immediately adjacent to, the road but did not notice much in the way of traffic noise. Prices are surprisingly high, and probably reflect the scarcity of good choices in the area. Access to the park is via Colorado Ave (parallel to US-24), making an immediate right through the gate to the registration area. We only had interaction with the staff upon registration, and they were friendly enough. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are staying in the Springs area this is a nice park. Things to do for the kids especially lots of other kids to play with (in the summer). The park is a little tough to get to, since you have to drive through Old Colorado Springs to get to it, so traffic is a factor. I opted for an "upgrade" and got a pull through. I would suggest you save your money and get a back-in. The premium sites are closer than the back-ins and we had to back out due to the trees and packed in sites (our left slide hung over our neighbors picnic table). Everything has a price here (no cable but good TV reception), wi-fi is pay as you go and so on. Two laundermats were clean as were the several shower houses. If you need to be close to the local attractions it's a good place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park very close to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs. Short drive to Pikes Peak as well. Park was in excellent shape.....one of the best we have seen so far. Only two areas of constructive feedback would be the gift shop (very limited, which meant you needed to drive to a local store to get anything) and the dirt base of some sites (instead of the gravel base of most sites). We stayed there twice in a two week period, and specifically requested a gravel site on our 2nd visit. We usually stay in KOAs, and could notice that the staff was less friendly than what we see at the KOAs. However, this is an excellent site overall, and I would use it again as a base camp for my time in Colorado Springs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is at the seedy end of the tourist strip of Old Colorado City and Garden of the Gods area. Somewhat difficult to find because the road forks off to the right at an odd spot in the high traffic road, then comes to an abrupt stop sign that is the length of a big rig, and then you cross a side street to enter the park's driveway. To boot, the check in lanes are at a 45 degree angle, which is navigable but bizarre. The sites are nicely landscaped with gravel and modestly shaded. We saw many big rigs and felt relatively safe until we started to set up. Even though they appear to be, the sites are not level. The park had many children under 12. The rig next to our site had 5-6 kids playing on our site as we pulled up. As we set up, 2 unattended children were playing stick-ball with large red rocks that landed on other rigs. We pulled up our jacks and left. The staff refused a refund and did nothing about the children. After a very unpleasant argument ensued with management, they conceded and refunded the fees. It was a very testy situation and I would only recommend this park for families with children who run loose, parents that refuse to attend to their children, and campers who enjoy heated and lengthy arguments with management over refunds. Overall, this park has all the curb appeal without the service or security. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This older park has a fabulous view, but the sites are very narrow and short. They were almost impossible for the fifth-wheelers next to us to park their towing vehicles and not block the roads, which are paved. Your picnic table is right over your neighbors' hookups. No ice at the office. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Another old 80's RV park struggling to fit the big rigs in, but failing to do so. Also, terribly uneven spots, where many cannot level despite automatic systems. A new park area, where food is served, but no vegetarian selections (in Colorado, yet). Well located, but not a big rig friendly area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice Urban campground located in some trees. We were parked next to a noisy creek and noiser road in a "premium" spot. We had plenty of space in our premium spot, located amongst the huge and beautiful Class A campers. At first they parked us in a "deluxe" spot and we had to let the office know our reservations were for a "premium" spot. Fire pits are only allowed in certain few areas (not ours). It was too cool to swim, but there was a separate pool for adults and an adult hot tub available if desired. The bathrooms are clean, but had mold and yuck in them. My kids loved the rec area, playground, and the dinner/breakfast options at the outdoor dining area were tempting. We would stay here again, even with the price, because it is so close to the Colorado Springs attractions. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

There are different classes of sites with different prices. Premium big rig sites are farther apart and have nicer landscaping than the rest of the park. Perhaps the people who like this park got one of those sites. We are completely self-contained in a 20' Roadtrek but were given a tiny site jammed in amidst the tent trailers and small pick-up campers. The rear window of the RV behind us was about 12 inches from ours so that we could see right into their rig and vice versa. I have never had such a small site in all my many years of camping in RV parks!The park has WiFi but charges $4-$5 per day for it. The clerk did not explain why there was a difference in the rate. Overall, she seemed rushed and condescending, as though she was doing us a favor in letting us park there at all. We will never go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff was very friendly and helped guide us to our site. Laundry room was clean but had a few non working machines. Showers were clean. The pancakes on Sunday morning are the best you can get. The sites are small and hard to back into. Not really enough room for the truck. Wifi worked well at site. Wish wifi was free ($15.00)/week. Nice shade trees everywhere. I would recommend this park. They have improved it a lot since 4 years ago. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is located in the midst of the Colorado Springs attractions. As a result they charge top dollar for their campsites. It is a nice and clean place but many of the sites are very close together. From the campground you can walk to the Garden of the Gods. They also have very good and reasonably priced meals available every evening at their clubhouse. We had BBQ that was catered by Howard's BBQ, a popular local restaurant. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The camp was clean but way too expensive. The sites are too close together. We had to step over the water hose to the next camper to get to the back of our camper. Was there with a large group and lots of the reservations were not correct. I had called 5 or 6 times to make sure that mine was correct. I had requested that I not be right with the group that I was there with and I was put in a site right among. I would only recommend this camp in case of a needed place to stay. They do not accept any discounts (Good Sam, AARP, or Passport America. They could get more business if they did. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is under new management and has been cleaned up and improved. Very nicely landscaped and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The park is located close to Pike's Peak, the Garden of the Gods Park and other points of interest in the Colorado Springs area. While it is wooded and nicely landscaped, it is a urban park. The sites are rather close together. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is the most pleasant looking park in the immediate area, with very easy access to Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak and the other attractions in the area. We were here in the off season, which was good since this campground is TIGHT. My husband, who is very adept at backing our tiny 25' trailer into spots, had to do a lot of wiggling to avoid trees. We checked in after hours and they had us in a spot next to a run down permanent trailer, but the next morning they were happy to let us move to a better spot. Both spots were difficult to maneuver into because of the trees planted six inches from the roadway, but the sites themselves are a good size. Also, had it not been the off season, I'm not sure where we would have parked our tow vehicle, since we had to park it in the empty spot next to us (with park approval). Staff really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are old and could do with a redo, but they are clean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park in a good location for visiting Garden of the Gods Park or Pike's Peak. Only 5 minutes from the park and 15 minutes from Pike's Peak entrance. Sites fairly level, required some blocks under one side, though, but not bad. Some interior roads are a bit tight with trees, but if you take it slow and careful, you can get around. Wifi worked well at my site, but I was very close to the office. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent park. Some friends told us that Garden of the Gods CG was being renovated so we wanted to see what was going on there, since we had camped there before and enjoyed it. Great improvement, especially the new pull thrus and park areas. Staff was phenomenal, very accommodating and they really understand what hospitality is. Highest marks - you can't go wrong with this park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is nothing special, even after they have worked on it. It is not worth $45 a day for sure! We will not be back at this campground again. We did go every July 4th for several years. New owners bought it and raised the rate. This is the most expensive RV park in the area. Wouldn't mind paying if it was worth the price. No patio, no place to park the tow vehicle. gravel site. Last time we stayed there we were next to office. We could not put our awning out. Trees within a inch of our slides. Took us awhile to get into our site. This site was much too small for our big rig. We were next to a busy street that was the entrance to campground. We had our reservation for about 8 months. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I just had to write this review to say that we had an excellent experience camping at Garden of the Gods Campground. My husband and I love the Colorado Springs area and love to go camping in the Colorado mountains. We had a really nice, big site and loved the beautiful mountain views and all the trees. It was easy to check-in at the park because we had booked our reservation on-line. We found the staff to be super friendly and helpful and especially liked the new manager - apparently, the park has a new owner who is making some nice improvements. The campground was clean and had great park areas, picnic tables and barbecues. The nightly dinner socials were so nice, too. We are planning on going back to the campground in September or October to experience fall in Colorado Springs. Now that we have discovered rvparkreviews, we will spend some time reading reviews on other parks in other states - thank you. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park after staying last year. Apparently the park has been sold and a new owner is taking over. The park is in town and while the sites are small, the views are incredible and being so close to Garden of the Gods, restaurants, and golf was a huge plus for us. We had a chance to talk to the new manager, Beverly, and she definitely knows what she is doing but is way too busy. Lots of plans for making bigger sites which is much needed. The park looks dated so I think a new owner could do nice things. We like the area so we'll keep going back as all the other parks in the area are pretty pathetic. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have mixed reviews for this campground. The facilities where nice and clean, restrooms, laundry room, game room, etc. Staff was friendly and the ice cream social and items were nice idea. Escort to campsite was nice idea as well. Really I only have a couple gripes about this place. It is too bad it is basically in town, and the sites are way way too close together. Our site was at the end of a row, so the camper next to me had their awning out, and was almost touching my camper. On the other side I would sit on one side of the picnic table and my back was 6 inches from the road that seemed to constantly have diesel trucks running back and forth on. No room for tow vehicles either. Overall it was not fun place to stay. If you are passing through for the night, or plan on being off site-seeing and not spending much time at the campground, then it will be fine. Except then the price will be high for the little time you spend there. Mostly very large rigs there, however that has nothing to do with the campground, it's just we have a 19' travel trailer and felt like a minnow in a ocean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Just stayed there for the first time, and I'll be back for sure. It is right by Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, and from our site (or any site in the park) we were looking straight up at Pike's Peak. Unbelievable. Great park and staff, and a great value. I understand it is under new ownership as of last week, and although they are going to keep much of the park the same as it has been, they also have some great plans to make this an even better park. It is great now, so I can't wait to come back and see what they do with it. Everything was very clean, staff was great, and the VIEWS are unbelievable. Loved it! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have visited this park a few times before. Depending on which area of the park they put you in, it can be a good or bad experience. This time we had a slot that was not on the perimeter of the park and was, overall, very quiet. Since we visited after Labor Day, they had closed the indoor hot tub, but the pool was still open. The park is near historic Manitou Springs and close to other attractions in the Pikes Peak area. Most sites are not too level. The roads are paved, but sites are gravel. They do have WiFi access, but we did not get a good signal where our site was. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a VERY rundown park. The bathrooms had newspapers on the floor with some water. The laundry room had lots of clothes on the floor. The campsites were very close together. The sites were very small in size. Not even big enough for a travel trailer. The pool was always crowded with people. The campground was located next to an area of homes. I would only recommend this place as a last resort. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is really crowded with small sites. The tent sites are pathetic. The stream along the tent sites had lots of trash and old tires in it. The women's bathroom in the section we were in was flooded with overflowing toilets all but one day of our 4 day stay. On the flip side, the pool and playground are very nice and the campground employees are very friendly and helpful. With a little help this could be a great campground. Managers need to pay attention to changes that need to be made. The location is great and there is potential for this to be a really good place for family camping. We camped here in a camper.

Most sites sort of small for big rigs. All back-in sites. Nice park, quiet, and convenient to Garden of Gods and other tourist attractions. Internet room with 3 phone lines - free. We camped here on a July weekend and the place was packed with people. There are some long-term summer residents, but overall it was FULL of families just having a good weekend of it. People were quite friendly. However, the sites are relatively small, roads are rutted by stormwater here and there, the sewer connects are far away from where they need to be. Power and water supply were fine. Overall, this is a rustic campground that needs a major overhaul in terms of infrastructure. The staff was more than friendly. There have been bear problems near the dumpsters, but we never saw any bears. Entry drive is a hairpin turn, but that did not seem to stop any big rigs. Sites were sometimes level, sometimes not. Could be a challenge if you don't have blocks. We would not camp here again, however. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Roads washed and rutted. Sites poorly marked. Side by side parking meant somebody got stuck with 30 amps. Layout of sewer and electric meant you either had to have long extension cord or long sewer hose. In fact we had to move in order to dump. Don't waste your time here. Although this park is in a nice area backed up against the front range mountains the sites them selves have not been kept up well at all. Many are overgrown with weeds and when it rains water runs everywhere including right under the RV. The electric outlets, sewer and water connections are located in the wrong place. Without extra 30 or 50 amp extension cords you won't be able to reach the electric power plug. The campsites themselves need major upgrades to accommodate newer larger RV's. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I liked the location of this park. It's about 10 miles from Colorado Springs, up in the foothills just south of Cheyenne Mountain. There's an abandoned road leading several miles up the mountain that serves as a hiking trail. The trail doesn't appear to be used often, so if you're looking for a little solitude in the forest, you've got it. The park itself, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I had to find some extra cinder blocks just to level my 20 ft trailer, and when it rained, which was nearly every afternoon, sand washed over everything. The Wifi is only available in the laundry, which was open 24 hours, but the doors wouldn't close completely, so it got very buggy in the evening. The worst thing about the park for me, however, was the barking dogs owned by one of the fulltime residents. Despite rules against it, this person had three large dogs that were kept outside most of the time and they barked incessantly. I originally intended to stay a month, but left after less than three weeks because of the noise. Another resident was a younger person who had noisy parties. Overall, there's nothing here that would encourage me to come back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

To call this place rustic is probably being too kind but it does have its charms. It is located on a pretty treed hill a little south of the Air Force Academy near Colorado Springs. It is well off any major roads so is very quiet. That is the good part. The interior roads are dirt - uneven and rutted - as are the sites themselves. The utility layouts are haphazard. At our site, billed as a full-hookup pull-through, the sewer connection was in the usual place but nothing else was. The electrical box was way up front on the right and the water was way up front on the left. The electric box was shared with the adjacent site and had only one 30-amp and one 50-amp outlet. That was not a problem because the other site was vacant but if both sites needed the same service it couldn't be done. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A beautiful mountain setting with lots of trees. Although their website says that they have multiple "lakes", they are actually ponds that are mostly dried up. The electric is shared between RVers, you may need 50' of power cord to plug-in. The sewer hook-up is also questionable. Some sites had the sewer hook-up where a 20' hose would work, but some sites such as the guy next to us needed 3-20' (60' total) sewer hoses to connect. The sites where most of the BIG Rigs went are not even close to being level. Park is in severe disrepair with dusty rutted roads. If you have very low standards, this RV Park will be fine for you. We will never stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A large park which is the home to some permanent resident campers (Colorado Springs is very expensive). It was curious to see small fences surrounding some of the outfits. Restrooms and showers were clean in the morning. Plenty of space between sites, and a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. Close enough to enjoy the sites surrounding the city, yet far enough away for a meaningful camping experience. The playground was rather poor and needed substantial updates. Only drawback was a large, loud party in the rally area one evening that continuted late into the night. We got even by honking our horn as we passed the rally area via the access road early the next morning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

In mountains above Colorado Springs, great scenery. Every night bears come to the dumpsters
to feast (host encourages this so bears won't bother campers) - this made us real uncomfortable but they were fun to watch. CG roads in poor condition so drive slow. Bathroom closest to our site closed entire time we were there- had to drive to other bathroom. Some sites are pretty small (tent?) and others are close together. Private lakes stocked w/fish. Nice walking paths. Good place to have base-camp while exploring Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and Colorado Springs in general. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

The sites on this park are too close together. It was difficult to back in because of the way the cars of other campers parked. Of all the parks we stayed in our 6 week journey, this was the worst campground, and it was the most expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good location for local attractions. Yes, it is cramped and this is mostly a no-frills place. But if you're just looking for a safe place to park and will spend most of your time site seeing and using this place only to shower & sleep it's a decent place to stay. It's quieter than you'd think. Also, I think it's only fair that you pay for the actual electricity you use, especially if you're not a utilities hog. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

The managers seem nice, but they are forced to charge ridiculous charges by the owner. They meter your electric use (for even one night). They charge an additional $2 fee for back ins and $4 for pull-throughs, another $3 for cable. The overall fee is fine, and I wouldn't mind paying more, but don't nickel and dime me to death! They park the rigs as tight as they will go, and it is just a rock parking lot with hookups. Oh yeah - if you want cable ask them if they have this issue straightened out yet. Park is essentially a dirt parking lot with hookups. If you have slides there is barely enough room to get between the rigs to hook and unhook and then one at a time. Restrooms/showers lacked privacy for the the showers if more than one person was showering, though they were nice and clean. Only thing going for the place is it is convenient for the attractions and the host was accommodating though not overly-friendly. It is a typical tourist area facility. If they could figure out a way to charge for the air we breath they would and it's over priced for what you get. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites were extremely small. Our slideouts were only inches for our neighbors. We dould not open our awnings. There is no room to sit outside. It felt like we were camping in a parking lot. If the rigs on either side of us had not left, we would have been unable to get our motorhome off our site. It may be better for small RVs, but definitely not the place for large ones. This park is a very crowded parking lot. We were there a few nights to do some sightseeing so we really didn't care about the facilities. What I want to point out is the helpful staff. They went out of their way to rearrange things to allow us to extend our stay without changing sites. The price shown is the Passport America price, and there is no limit on the number of nights you can stay. There is a small dog park that our dog enjoyed. We would stay here again because it is convenient to the attractions and because the staff was so helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A dirt parking lot is what this campground amounts to. It is tight, there is no room to maneuver. Directory listing says WiFi and cable is "available". WiFi is $4 a day — but that is a calendar day, not a 24-hour day. If you check in late in the day, you only get a few hours for your money. If you are looking for an RV parking lot with hookups, this place may be OK. However, the previous reviews do not exaggerate the tightness of the spaces. Since our motor home is small, I thought we would be alright in a pull through space. What happened is they allowed rigs 75-80 feet long to park on each side of us. We lived in a tunnel for 3 days. During the parking process, the motor home pulling a trailer came within inches of our rig in order to get in to the space. The 5th wheel with a motorcycle on it's bumper hit a tree while backing up to make the narrow space. We camped here in a Motorhome.

"Will you be breathing any of the campground air while you are here? That will be $3 per person". This is a slight dramatization of the attitude displayed by the owners of this campground. Everything you would normally get included on other campgrounds will cost you extra here. This is the first time ever that we have had to pay for metered electricity on a 30 amp hookup. If you want a 50 amp hookup you will still be metered AND pay an extra $2,50 per night for this priviledge. The campground is a glorified carpark and it is very noisy since it is right next to a very busy road. Our neighbours paid $43 for an overnight stay which is almost criminally expensive. We paid "only" $15 per night due to our Coast to Coast membership (The campground is a "Good Neighbour Park) but if you want things like Wi-Fi, cable or any of their other extras, you will soon pay way more than $15. If you want to wash any clothes while you are there, make sure that you are all done by 5pm, because then the owner/operator close the door to this facility. Next time we stop in Colorado Springs overnight we will stay at Walmart. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is just a large gravel lot with hookups and tight spaces. It is right next to a major highway so the road noise is bad. Staff was pleasant to work with, especially when we checked in and our site was still occupied. We wanted a satelite site but they are limited due to the large trees so we just used our TV antenna as cable was $4 a night more. So was wifi so we went to the local library. This is a very workable urban RV park with minimal amenities. It is conveniently located to Colorado Springs business and tourist attractions. It is the only place that we have found in the Springs that has both W-iFi and cable TV. Both worked very well. This is not a "hang out at the campsite under the awning" place. I am just posting this review to let everyone know out there, what problems I had with this RV Park and that I ended up cancelling my reservation because of their attitude. Anyway I booked through a travel website, to stay here in August at a reduced rate with a Passport America Discount. The discounted rate was booked, confirmed and paid for by Mastercard and I received a receipt online stating I owed a 0.00 balance. The RV park didn't honor rate and it was like pulling teeth to get a refund without being charged for a cancellation. They didn't honor the rates they had listed on the reservation site and then they made it out to be my fault and they said they had the right to refuse service to anyone and they would cancel my reservation for this reason if I didn't pay the additonal amount that they wanted to charge me. Their customer service is lacking and I feel this is internet fraud. Anyway, I hope this review saves anyone else from staying at this RV Park and having to pay more than they should, not to mention having to deal with these people they were not pleasant. Happy Rving and stay clear of this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

However, it is an RV parking lot NOT a campground. Sites were very close together on a gravel lot. If you are only looking for a place to park and sleep while visiting the area, then, this is fine. This is an exceptional RV Park striving to provide excellent service. We stayed in one of their spacious unique terrace sites, which appear to be new or have been recently improved. Access lanes are solid gravel and so are the sites. There is an assortment of trees and some sites are shaded. The WiFi worked without any problems. There is a scenic mountain trail offering great views of the valley. Deer came by our site each evening and it was very quiet. We would of liked to stay longer and will likely return. Our group of Harley riders stayed at this campground for a week. Some of us brought campers & others stayed in the cabins. All accommodations were excellent. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to have a wonderful visit. Everyone was very friendly, and it was noted by all in our group that the campground was very quiet, even though there were many children present. Bathrooms & laundry facilities were clean and adequate. The lounge area was nicely furnished although we never used it. Our only complaint (and it is very minor) is that the Wi-Fi was better accessed closer to the office and we were in the very far end cabin. However, that didn't detract from our fabulous trip. We enjoyed our stay & the central location for all our rides around the Colorado Springs area. We recommend buying groceries/supplies before arriving as it is 20 miles in either direction for a store. We highly recommend this campground and would stay here again! This park is clean and well maintained. The roads and sites are well covered in gravel, so even when we arrived in a rainstorm, there was no mud to speak of. WiFi was usable and free, the playground was well maintained, but my older boys (9 & 14) got bored quickly. The park was crowded, but all the campers were well behaved. Keep in mind that this is 16 miles from Colorado Springs and not close to any stores/services, but this keeps it quiet. The semi-permanant residents kept their sites very clean. Rate is with Escapees discount and includes taxes. Park is in a beautiful wooded area and has good facilities. WiFi is erratic but with several hubs showing, I was able to get connected. Cellular service is unusable. My only complaint is that the electric service where we were parked was poor. The voltage was 113 to 117 until we tried the air conditioner. Then it dropped to about 101 to 105, dangerously low. I suspect the wiring here is just not heavy enough as even a a few lights dropped the voltage noticeably. In mild weather, this is a nice place to be and we will probably return someday. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs. The drive in and out of town is beautiful. It is very well located for visiting the sites in Colorado Springs and Canon City. The park itself is very nice and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The reason I rates it a 7 is due to the lack of water pressure and sometimes water. They constantly truck water in to keep up with the demand. My experience with the Wi-Fi is that it was iffy and slow when you could get logged on. There is basically no cell service in the park. Occasionally you might hit a sweet spot but you better not move an inch in either direction. We would stay here again short term, but not the month we stayed this time. This area was nice, but the grounds were very dusty. Our site was #51, and was unlevel, but off the beaten path, so it was better than the main bundle. Units in the 70's+ were premium, and very level, but little shade. The staff was very nice. Bathrooms were clean, but didn't fill the soap at all during the entire weekend. No mosquitoes!!! Lots of hummingbirds. There was a bear at night, but no other signs of wild life. It's very close to attractions in Colorado Springs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the third summer we have stayed at this resort. We are full-timers and travel around the country, staying in many RV resorts and Campgrounds. Mountaindale is one of the finest destinations we have found. Large sites with full hookups, friendly staff, quiet, with wonderful weather. The ice cream social on Saturday evenings gives you a chance to meet other RV'ers. They also serve donuts and coffee on Sunday morning. We have not found anywhere with larger, nicer sites. Mountaindale was a beautifully wooded campground. Meticulously maintained with wide pull-through sites, nicely graded in brick colored rock chips. Very helpful and friendly owner and staff. We chose this RV Park as it was centrally located between Canon City and Manitou Springs, so we could drive to each and see the sights. Price is for a deluxe site with Good Sam discount. This is a very nice park. Owner has worked hard to make it very attractive. Laundry room acceptable with 4 washers & 4 dryers @$1.00 each. There were deer and foxes around - lots of fun. We stayed in the Wilderness Cabin. It was wonderful! We have never "camped" or been in Colorado: it was all magical. We saw all the sights plus returned home to a beautiful and clean campground. Everyone here was extremely helpful and friendly. I can't wait to tell my Houston city friends of such a find in Colorado Springs. My grandkids will love coming here too. We stayed here on the recommendation of a friend. We usually prefer public campgrounds but found that most of the state parks in the area were booked for the week we wanted to stay. We were very pleasantly surprised by this park. Very reasonable rates, exceptionally clean facilities. One evening we wanted to buy some firewood at the camp store but found out it was closed for the evening. An employee who lives on-site, unlocked the storage area to the wood pile and simply asked that we take care of the bill the next day once the store opened. Good, honest people. We were able to reserve one of the premium sites that overlook the rest of the park. A bit out of the way from the Colorado Springs attractions but that was okay. Thank goodness we have satellite because their is no off-the-air TV reception. Weak to non-existent cell phone coverage but the Wi-Fi enabled us to keep in touch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My wife and I and our dog spent 4 evenings at this campground and in their stated worst site. We enjoyed the experience very much. It was actually refreshing not to have cell phone and TV signals. A real vacation. We spent daytime hours sight seeing and not in camp. Evenings and mornings were very quiet. Campground is well maintained and management and staff were all very pleasant. The campground was quite full, 3 large groups were registered. We interfaced with at least 2 of the groups and had many enjoyable discussions. The Denver Airstream group were most enjoyable and invited us to a few of their functions. The campground is about 18 miles south of Colorado Springs, but we found that preferable to being in town. Our home is in the middle of 22 acres so we enjoy nature and out of the way. They have very clean shower and bathroom facilities, a computer area, pool table room and meeting room. All were maintained well and used quite heavily by the campers. We would definitely stay in this campground again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Maybe because we were paying 'full freight' our expectations were higher. On the good side, the park is very clean, sites are reasonably sized, and the owners are friendly. On the down side, there were barking dogs and music audible across the park during a weekend day, with no apparent attempt to enforce the noise limits. Sites near the road will get noise from trucks headed to a nearby quarry. Sites were freshly graveled, but not very level. WiFi service was highly erratic and failed completely for one evening. This is a beautiful little campground in an out of the way area of Colorado Springs. Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful. If you could get any tv reception I would give it a 10. You have to have a satellite dish if you want any tv. But other than that, it is perfect as far as I am concerned. The sites are all crushed stone and they vary in size. Some are very large. We saw all sized rigs in here. It is about 10 to 15 miles from most of the activities in Colorado Springs, but it is nicer to be out here than in town. It is not far from the Red Gorge area and Canon City. It is very quiet. There is a computer room with 3 computers, and another area with tables and chairs and a pool table. If you are in the area I would highly recommend this campground. The wifi is on and off, but if you go to the computer room it is super. We stayed on Passport and you are allowed 4 days with Passport and that is only during the weekdays, not the weekends. But they give a 10 discount to Passport on weekends. Then I think they would let you go on the passport rate again during the next week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent 9 days here, and it was just wonderful. The scenery, accommodations, the staff were all excellent. We even saw deer walking through the park. Would come back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

People are more friendly than most people I met across the country. There are deer running though the camp and some are so friendly they eat out of your hand. The owner has done an excellent job on improving the camps and keeping it clean. If I have to visit other nearby states like Wyoming or Colorado, I will stay at this camp and travel to see other points of interests instead going to other camps. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Thank goodness for the all gravel spots among the trees. We had rain for 4 days. Most spots are in the trees. Poor phone reception, no Dish reception and very limited TV reception. They did have fair Wi-Fi reception. Seemed to be kid friendly. Sites were not as big as advertised. They were level. Water pressure was good. I'm not sure if we would stay here again. I think I would stay closer to I-25. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is located 14 miles south of town (near mm 30 on Hwy 115) and the turn off is well marked. The park roads and sites are gravel with pine trees around. It is well maintained and staff is friendly. No cable TV. They will give you a satellite site if requested. We could not get a Verizon cell phone signal in the park. We had a site that was a bit of a problem to level the rig and it appeared many of the sites had some leveling issue. The wi-fi speed was uneven, sometimes it slowed to non-existent and much of the time it was OK. We were there on a weekly rate. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed both visits. The workcampers and staff are well organized and friendly. They give you an escort to your site and the sites are kept up nicely. We camped up on the hill in a pull through site and the Wi-Fi seems better up there. We enjoyed the deer that came through the park. We will definitely come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Located about 14 miles south of town on Hwy 115. Very nice area. Hiking trail up the mountain. Our site was slightly unlevel, but not a major problem. Washed gravel sites and most are shaded to some extent. Lots of deer around, even two bucks fighting in a vacant site near ours one evening as we grilled out. We stayed two days and had no complaints. Wifi worked fine at our site near entrance. As other poster said. No large playground of amusement park nearby, but a very nice park to use as a base for exploring the area. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good signs made this easy to find. Friendly, attentive service. Escorted to our site. The premium sites are very nice and some are quite large (and most are satellite-friendly.) Overall maintenance very good and trees are trimmed. Lots of seasonal campers here, but plenty of non-seasonal back-ins and pull-throughs available. Playground for the kids and picnic pavilion available. As a bonus, they are a Passport America park so we paid $18 per night for three nights. Overall, a fine place to spend a few days. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I struggled to be fair in rating this CG. The CG advertises that it is family friendly, but our opinion is this CG is aimed towards the senior citizens crowd. THEY seemed thrilled with the CG. We pulled in late and went off to find our site, which had no site number. We figured it out by process of elimination. We pulled into the site and our camper was angled down towards its back and our truck was angled towards its front. There was a crest to the hill. Looking from the side you would be seeing an obtuse angle. Those with a TT will know that this will force the ball back into the brake in the trailers receiver, so disconnecting the truck from the TT was just not possible. We moved in the morning to the smallest site we have ever stayed at. So, if you are in the senior citizens crowd you’ll love it, but if you have school age children pass. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

They help us out with all the local attractions and directions on how to get here. I would recommend this RV Park to everyone. It was truly extremely worth the stay and very relaxing. This rate is a Passport America rate. The setting of the park was beautiful compared to others we saw closer to Colorado Springs. The staff was very nice. We were escorted to our site even though it was easy to find. The site was gravel (and fairly level) as were the roadways. Both the roads and the sites were narrow. On our site we were not able to access satellite. We received one TV channel. But the setting was great! Evidently there was a bear in the campground but we did not see it. WiFi was good and free. The campground is about 2 miles off 115. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get to any attractions if not longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Loved this park! It was beautiful here with wonderful cool weather and spruce and pine filling the park with their aromas. We were in a premium site where we had plenty of room. However, I noticed that some of the sites were pretty close. If I were coming in a motorhome or big 5th wheel with slides, I would make sure I was going to be put in one of the larger spaces. Gorgeous area. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Office staff was very helpful. Dick showed us to our site. He also gave us good info on area. Campground was clean and quiet. Bathes were clean and private. This park is so much better than parks closer to Colorado Springs. The sites are good size, the people are really friendly and it has a good proximity to a zillion scenic and tourist things to do. The "premium" sites up on the hill seem to be the best for big rigs and people who want even more space. We were in #83 which worked well for us. One other point, for people who want to overnight in a cabin on the property, this RV Park has some really nice small cabins available for one or more nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is halfway to Canon City in the foothills off US 115. Signage to campground was good. Good area to park and register. Office staff was friendly and efficient. The site is fairly wooded with ponderosa pines. Access roads are well maintained but narrow in some places. Mainly gravel solid large pull-through sites with full hook-ups. Electricity was solid but water pressure was a bit variable. Resident mule deer around the park. Very quiet. Excellent location to visit the many attractions of Colorado Springs and Canon City. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As my husband was away on business right after we checked in, I was nervous about being alone. I mentioned that he was gone to the staff and I didn't have to worry as the staff checked up on me every day. The campsite we had, #37 was large enough for both our motorhome and car hauler. The campsite was quiet and clean. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. The ice cream socials are a great way for you to meet your fellow campers. We will go out of our way to stay at this campground again next year, and will recommend them to all. Great place!!!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a somewhat remote park in a pretty mountain setting. It is about 15 miles south of Colorado Springs and any shopping so pick up your groceries before you go. The remote location make is a very tranquil place. There is no highway, train, or other noise to disturb the peace. There are lots of trees. The sites are spacious and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing that some might consider a negative is the distance from attractions and shopping but that is what makes such a pleasant place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice folks running the park, but we were hoping for something more scenic than what we found. On the plus side, it was clean, quiet, and offered nice facilities (store, laundry, recreation, etc.) It's centrally located if you are visiting both Pike's Peak and Royal Gorge (as well as Manitou Springs and Cripple Creek) - as we did. Roads can get a bit dusty and your wifi signal may be rather weak depending on where your site is. Overall, a good "base of operations" for a CO Springs area sight-seeing trip, but not a destination park. We would go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to families or seniors. I used RV park reviews to find the nice park in Durango and was pleased with it. Then my family and I drove to Colo Springs and found Mountaindale with great reviews. I was very pleased with the friendly staff. This campground has many beautiful trees. I got a nice, shady and level space. It was difficult to get sat TV reception, due to the amount of pine trees, but it just took an additional 15 minutes to dial it in. My space #79 was absolutely huge and shady. It was over 45 feet wide and 80 feet long. My experience was great. Don't know why someone wouldn't find this a great park. I will come back next time I travel with my coach through Colorado. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Upon arrival the the office had two customers in front of my family. The older lady behind the counter must have been having a bad day. She did not smile once while our family waited for over 45 min for her to check in the two in front of me. When it became my turn. She was very short with us. She took our money told us the site number, my wife asked where it is and she handed us a pamphlet and did not say another word. This place also is not a place I would recommend taking children to the staff treated my children as a imposition not a guest of their campground. My site was very sunny no shade which (I requested upon reservation) the site was also very small and cramped. Upon reservation I was also told that on Sat night they had a Ice cream special 1.00 a bowl, they decided not to do that also. I would not recommend this place We camped here in a Motorhome.

Best park in the Colorado Springs area, wasn't our original choice but after reading rv reviews we changed. We then rode by and through all the other parks, the reviews have it CORRECT, the rest of them are urban jungles. This park is a bit out there, in mileage from the 'downtown' parks, but it is worth the trip. No cable, 1 TV channel with antenna, satellite depends on your site, WIFI was great. Much, much better than what the others offer!!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

There have been many good reviews, so I will not elaborate. We could have spent more than our 2 weeks here as it is so quiet and cool. We did have to move from our first site, as it was booked. However they did all they could to find a good site for our second week. We had the request for satellite sites, so the possibilities were limited. This is by far one of the most clean, beautiful, and well run campgrounds my family and I have stayed at. The staff and owner make sure that each and every person receives individualized attention. The campground is in the pine forest, great interior road. Owner and staff are friendly and very helpful, make you feel at home. Free computers use with T-1 feed and speed along with WiFi. Hiking to the hill top offer fantastic view of the Colorado east plain. Great location to see Colorado springs attraction. This is one of the few campground offer booking on a specific site, since all the sites are unique due to the forest setting. Nice web site to check out before booking. Staff very friendly and helpful-I had numerous questions as this was our first visit. If you like a campground type RV park with lots of shade trees, rock fire rings and an open roomy feel, this is a great choice. It is located several miles south of busy Colorado Springs in the front edge of the mountains. It is located in a peaceful country setting away from the main highway. We slept with the windows open and the A/C off and enjoyed the cool Colorado nights-it was that quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were well kept and clean. Use of the Hot Tub required a reservation-a great system other parks should adopt. Many of the in-town Colorado Springs RV parks here are of the paved and packed design near busy city streets so this was a real find for us. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice setting in the tall whispering pines. Owners and mgt were very nice and accommodating. Ask about trimming limbs so I could open my awning and they responded immediately and took off the limbs. Very friendly environment and met some great folks. Hope to return with grandkids in future. Really nice clubhouse for playing pool and socializing. Open year round by the way. Very relaxing visit...if not the most relaxing stop on this two week trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Located well off any major highway, we were impressed with the rustic nature of this campground. Though rustic, with lots of trees and beautiful mountain views, our site contained all the amenities we needed. The campground was clean and well attended. Showers, restrooms and laundry were always spotless. David, the owner was always gracious and accommodating. Mountaindale is located about a 20 minute drive from most of the great attractions in the Colorado Springs area. Would we visit here again? You bet! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wonderful staff. Sharon and David were extremely helpful. Arrived late and in rain. They were there and guided us into the parking space. Stayed 3 days. Went on to a reunion. Left it one day early and went back to Mountaindale as it was such pleasant experience. Thank you to the staff for having a clean, pleasant, restful and quiet place to stay. Nice park for us people but could have been more pet friendly. The staff was very welcoming and friendly in regards to pets but the environment could have been better. We were only to walk our dog on the perimeter of the park where there was no grass and there was a lot of cactus around. There was a nice trail that lead up to the top of a small mountain but it was lined with cactus that was unavoidable. We would stay again if passing through but not for long term. Very nice park, only complaint I have and other campers that I spoke to was, they allow the children from the full timers to ride their atv's all around the campground. They are also not careful in the way they ride them. One day this went on for about two and a half hours straight. If I had wanted to hear atv's all day I could of stayed home, not to mention all the dust it creates in the air, so much for sitting outside and enjoying the outdoors. Also did not see any wildlife because they were scared away. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were with a group here. Everyone was very nice until Saturday. Most everyone had left but couple were still here including us. We had checked with the staff 5 times to affirm our departure day and time. We were leaving Sunday instead of Saturday and this had been secured many months ago. I also confirmed this when we checked in. Saturday one of the staff came by and told us we had to move for that night because someone had booked someone in our site. I said if they did that then the new people should be moved to another site. They said no we had to move for our last night. We said we would just leave. We started packing up. The lady came back and said we could stay in our site. I said no because by that time we were packed and ready to go. The owner was not there that one day and he called me yesterday and apologized to me and said we should never have been treated this way. I will have to think hard and long about staying there again. Also the girl that made the mistake on their computer also called and said she was sorry and it was her fault. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay here, very nice campground in a nicely-treed rustic setting at 6000’ elevation. Sites spaced as generously as possible, considering all the trees. They have a tiered rate structure and tiered sites. We stayed in one of their “Premium Terrace” sites over the week preceding Memorial Day as well as the Memorial Day weekend. It was their top row and it was nicely secluded overlooking the campgrounds and nestled against a reddish rock bluff. The owner and the staff were very eager, helpful and solicitous – bending over backwards to accommodate the guests – very nice. The small office store was nicely stocked with basic needs & supplies. The sites were nicely landscaped with rock boundaries & walls; each had a fire ring and table. Most of the sites seem to be big-rig friendly – ours certainly was, we easily fit our 37’ fifth wheel & F-350 dually pickup. Now the bad news. The water pressure fluctuated between low and lower – we checked it with and without the filter, made no difference – it was still low. The roads were made of crushed red rock which was either dusty or muddy, dependent on the weather. The free WiFi was iffy at best but we had to use it as we received no signal at all from our Verizon card or phone, even with the Wilson Trucker antenna. The owner did not follow the leash law, which was a bit disconcerting – too many times we found the large, friendly dog running loose and looking lost (although I’m sure he wasn’t). We hit the place at peak season and found it to be bit pricey – but I suppose that’s to be expected during a summer holiday week in Colorado. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, it’s a great place for a home base to see the Royal Gorge, Pikes Peak, the Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, and Black Hawk Canyon. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very pleasantly surprised with our experience. The owners and staff were wonderful to work with. This is an older campground, but David (the owner) has put a great deal of effort into updating the location. The park is within 15 minutes of the south end of Colorado Springs, but you feel like you are away from it all. (We completely lost cell phone service.) Our younger kids enjoyed the playground, and our teens liked the pool table, dart board, and computer stations. They rent movies in the store, but you can watch any of the selection for free on the projection screen in the clubhouse. We are going again for Father's Day weekend. The downsides: The hot tub was not working during our visit, and the water pressure seemed low at times. Both were minor issues. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I just wanted to let you all know that this campground is a great place to stay. They are 14.3 miles out of the city on the 115. It is in the trees and mountains. The folks that run it are really nice. Free wifi is included 4-5 bars at all times. A nice strong signal. No cell signal but the campground phone is available for incoming or outgoing calls. They have several cabins and a hot tub. It is very peaceful and it is not far from several of the local attractions. There are several full hook up sites and several water with electric. There is a dump station, nice clean showers and bathrooms, a play area for your kids and a volleyball court and horseshoe area. Laundry facilities are good. There are rv rentals, and sites have grills and firepits. They also have a lounge with a big screen tv, a computer room, and game room with a pool table. In the office there is a store with lots of essentials available, Including ice cream (my favorite). If you are in the area you should definitely stop here. They are on the Passport America network. There is also an advertisement in their brochure for Escapees RV club, so I assume they may offer that discount also. It is open year round. There is a golf course is near by. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We were very disappointed that during our entire stay, the hot tub was out of order and pad locked. As mentioned, the park is just off the beaten path and very quiet which is always nice. It is very easy to get to either Colorado Springs or Canon City on highway 115 which has very little traffic. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay here again when in the area. Excellent park with a VERY friendly staff. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Our two year old son enjoyed the playground and seeing the camp fox and rabbits. The general store has ample items and the campsite is wooded and very clean. It is an excellent stop if heading through Colorado and it is a nice detour off of I25. We will definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were there for one week, very nice campground, owner goes out of his way to make your stay enjoyable. They are constantly working to improve the park. Very nice spacious terraced pull-throughs available. Abundant wildlife present. They were in the process of upgrading the wi-fi, so connections were not good all the time, however they do have computers available with internet access in the office. Have stayed in other parks in area but would recommend this one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A must stop while in Colorado Springs. Very helpful staff that goes out of their way to make your stay a pleasant experience. Is a Passport America park. Beautiful mountain setting with a variety of sites to please all RV'ers. We personally liked the terraced sites where you park in a line front to back, giving an excellent view of the mountains and the park. Very quiet, clean and spacious park. Within 25 miles of tourist attractions. Also has Wi-Fi phones and DirectTV for an additional charge. We came with the intention of staying a week and spent a month. Will definatally return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice remote camping. All gravel and not all level but good setting centered between many attractions. Close camping but not too bad by todays standards of parking lot campgrounds with RV's 20 feet apart. Shady country setting. Good access road. Good strong WIFI. Friendly staff. Very nice camp with shady sites. Computers available in the office for internet access. Clean restrooms. Pavilions available for group use. Friendly staff. Only downside is the layout in some parts of the camp is a little strange and you can end up driving through empty sites to get to other sites. Not a big deal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have camped here yearly for the last four years, under new management the last three years and owners have done wonders improving the grounds with new pavillions, play areas for children and new level sites. We will be returning often. We camped here in a Motorhome.

down). It was a good place for us since we basically slept at our camper and then went to all the area attractions during the day. Didn't seem to be in the nicest part of town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Says big rigs welcome but there is a lot of trees that needed to be trimmed to allow the larger rigs in. Problems with electric, but they say that will be taken care of. Quite a few long termers as the housing is expensive in Colorado Springs. OK for a overnighter. We camped here in a camper.

I agree with all the positive things that have been said in recent reviews about this excellent park, but will address a few points that haven't been mentioned recently. 1) It looks like the sites have been laid out helter-skelter among the trees, but it all works. 2) When you first see all the trees, it might seem that the park would be tight for a big rig, but if you pay attention, you will see there is sufficient room to maneuver to any site in any part of the park. 3) Not all sites are as level as they first seem; there are high and low areas, so you may want to inspect the site closely before you decide where to park. Most sites are big enough that you have some flexibility on where you site your rig. They really need to replenish the gravel on some of the sites and roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As others have written, this is an excellent campground. There is not enough words to describe the outstanding qualities here. The check in gals were friendly and informative. The grounds were very clean with pine trees and cones. I could spend forever in this park. There are lots of trains but they don't bother me as I take out my hearing aid. Has a large box store and commissary and they are well stocked. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A beautiful setting among the pines. Had many hungry hummingbirds. Only negative was the train noise. Will stay again when in the area. Staff was friendly. Spaces were large and had a nice grill and picnic table. Satellite was not great at our site; other sites would work better, but the camp WiFi worked well. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Absolutely impeccable park, has lots of room, easy parking and large sites. Office personnel were extremely friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms/showers were spotless. Only downside is IF there is any type of airshow or thunderbird practice (such as during graduation), you will have to leave the campground each day during practice generally from 11AM to 3PM (rig can stay but people have to be out), which makes for some inconvenience. Other than that, it's beautiful here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great park....there are 2 different sides to this fam-camp. One side is 20/30 amps, the other is 20/30/50 amps. Gravel roads and sites, aluminum picnic table and BBQ. We got a site (102) which was great for our satellite. There are train tracks that run very close to the campsites but not a problem with the noise. The office was closed for upgrades but we did run into the campground host who told us to park the RV and drive around and find a spot which we liked. This base is huge and they have everything you could want. We would definitely stop here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would love to give this park a 10 because it is a wonderful campground. Everything was immaculate. There is a playground, volleyball, picnic pavillion, and much to do in the area. It is wooded, but we picked up DISH just fine. Wi-Fi was inconsistent. The staff is great and work hard to get us just the right site. The only glitch is the train. The east side of the park is close to the tracks. We were in the middle of the park and heard it the first night, but after that it did not bother us. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a site away from it. We enjoyed the hiking trails on the base, and cannot wait to return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We always look forward to our stay here. The campground is filled with pine trees. We had some trouble with satellite, but overcame it. Some people hate the sound of the train, but you do get used to it. When I made our reservations, I requested 50 amp and satellite capable site. When checking in we were given 30 amp and no satellite. The previous review about the staff being new is right on. We were given 3 different sites before we even left the office. They are very willing and it all worked out. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I normally wouldn’t rate a military campground on this site due to it being restricted to military and DoD personnel. But since it’s already here, I’ll provide an update to previous reviews. The header of of this review states for Military Camping Only. That’s not completely true. Civilians are allowed to stay here if accompanied by someone who is normally authorized to do so. It is an “in the woods” CG. Access roads aren't tight, but you'd do well to pay attention while driving to the site. Roads and sites are gravel. Some sites require a small degree of leveling. The is plenty of space between them. The main two bath houses are at the front and back of the park requiring a small hike if you’re not close. WiFi is still excellent and the water pressure still extremely high. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, what a great military Famcamp. Beautiful location in the trees with excellent facilities. Wi-Fi worked great even though our site was at the very edge of the campground. Great staff who does their best to accommodate your needs. We asked for a site with Sat access and they knew exactly which ones would work. Both of us had careers in the AF but had never visited the Academy. Glad we did! Lots of good Geocaching in the area, too. We will definitely make a point of coming back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A facility intended to support the military academy that accepts associated personnel. The sites range from crowded to spacious. The new Wi-Fi works great and the laundry and baths were the cleanest and most modern that we have encountered in a long time. The camp was dusty though in June. All the sites were gravel. The water pressure was high and needed a reducer. The base gas station has no diesel. A nice place and we recommend it. Stayed here for 9 weeks at the monthly rate of $450, and a weekly rate of $183. I read the other reviews and can't deny them, however I found the park OK or we wouldn't have stayed as long as we did. It's not that they don't try to keep up the park, because their frequently working. Everyone has a different standard. The owner and help are very friendly and helpful. If you compare this park to the ones on the west side of town, it's not too bad. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park because it was convenient to family members in the area. Park was not well maintained and sites were very close together. It backs up to Peterson AFB and you hear taps, retreat and revielle each day. While it did not bother us, our neighbors complained about it. Appeared to cater to permanent campers. We would only stay here again if we are visiting the same family in Colorado Springs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is a joke, being called an RV Campground. It's more or less a small, junky and dirty mobile home park that at one time was probably a nice campground. It's been invaded by temporary workers that follow construction projects and the sort. It's extremely messy and I wouldn't recommend this be listed at all as a campground. Mostly dirt, voltages were low (they are rewiring), One septic system with problems and the sewer lines are PVC (thin) stubbed out at ground level and ours was cracked. With a slide there is not much room for a picnic table. Dump on site and trash was everywhere with no one making an attempt to pick up. Several of the water lines did not work, may have been frozen as the faucet is just below ground level with fiberglass batting stuffed in the hole which could be hard on your stomach. View is not bad though. It is overpriced for the amenities. Another example of a tourist facility that the owner/owners take most of the money out and do not put any back into improvements unless forced to. We camped here in a camper.
