This was our first time with the motorhome in Estes Park. The website for this park is a little more lavish than the park actually is. We camped here on the final weekend of the season, and the water had been turned off the week prior. Estes is a great base camp for many outdoor activities, and we were glad we had our toad for transportation. To be honest this only the only Big Rig friendly RV spot in Estes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If every other place in Estes Park is busy, I would stay here again. The web pictures are not a good representation of the park. It is very crowded in B row with rigs feet away from you on all sides. There are very few trees and all sites will require some leveling. The bathrooms are very nasty. The toilets were all stopped up one time I visited and someone had thrown up all over the place on my second visit. There is quite a bit of dog poop on the areas between trailers. Overall the staff was very nice and they do have a campfire every night. Also, elk stroll through the park nightly. They had a bear in the park the week before we arrived. Since we don't spend much time at the park, I would stay here if the other parks are booked. I would not recommend the park to those that like to use the showers and restrooms at the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Although this campground gives very good first impressions (Nice office building, game room, front area landscaping), it gives way to a poor RV parking lot! We were very disappointed in our stay here. We were here some years ago, and it was a lot nicer then. The entire campground is just a cramped parking lot on a hill. Although the pull-through sites have some room, there is no shade. The only shaded spaces are in "F" loop, which we requested. However, our spot was the only one without trees in that loop and we were very, very cramped together! The awnings almost touched each other end-to-end! The grounds in the RV area were a disaster. The interior roads had been paved a long time ago, but it is now slippery rock ruts. The gravel they layer has been ground to dust. The overall impression is that it has not been maintained for quite some time. The huge RV storage yard right next to the sites doesn't help much either. The only positives were the close location to RMNP, hookups worked well and Wi-Fi was good. The pool area has also gone downhill. Their old below-ground hot tub is now boarded over and a tiny above ground 4 person tub sits in the corner. Although the spa is for "16 and above" as the sign states, toddlers filled the tub with no parents to be seen. When we asked the staff about it, they shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Nice. This place need a major renovation and some serious money put back into the sites! We will not be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park for the area, reasonably priced with fairly level sites. My daughter in law used the shower one day and said the water was warm for about a minute, then went cold and stayed cold. The bathrooms were very clean. The campground was mostly empty during our stay. Beautiful scenery surrounding the campground. We left in the middle of the night due to high winds on our last day there, but we'd definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground. Close to town and access to national forest. Quite a walk to the bathrooms and showers. Pool was closed while we were there in August. Small nice pond in campground. Not very much shade. Ground was very hard. Could not hammer my stakes in ground for my awning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

First, the good points - location is great for visiting RMNP, price is favorable vs alternatives in area, pool, friendly staff, good security. Negatives - rough dirt roads, uneven dirt sites, close spacing, non-existent Wi-Fi, poor signage at entrance, overall shoddy appearance. Park is a zoo on the weekend and virtually empty during the week. We would probably return if we were in the area again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place to stay for a few nights. Great location close to town and park. Friendly staff. Only back in spots and not much space to park your tow. I would give it a 10 for the camp but the sites are very tight and not much space between. I will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff is friendly and helpful but this where any upside ends. The sites are more than small, we were not able to extend our canopy and cooking meals outside was an adventure. We had to move our car from our site to satellite parking to allow other campers to pull out of their sites. This campground crams everyone in like sardines and is not up to KOA standards. We will not stay here again and do not recommend it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very friendly staff. Booked a last minute site when we had fridge trouble and needed to move to a campground with electrical hookups. Provided the name of a mobile RV repair service who fixed the problem (not cheap). Site was not great. No shade, pull out on the side of the road site. Paid $5 per night for each person over the first two. Made the nightly rate $59. Enjoyed the pancake breakfast-choice of blueberry, chocolate chip or plain. Can take the shuttle to town or Rocky Mountain NP, but can take awhile. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for two weeks right on the river. Had a beautiful view with deer, bear and elk coming right up to your RV. The hosts were incredibly nice and accommodating. The entrance is a little tricky in that you must go over a pretty rough "curb" pulling into the park. It will shake everything in your coach, so take it slow. Its a fairly steep hill down to the river sites, so if you need to unhook a toad, do it either by the office or at the bottom of the hill. WiFi worked well even though we were as far away from the office as we could be and the cable TV was very good. Site was a little tricky backing into, but not impossible. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A good RV park. The electrical service was good. The water service was a little wobbly and a just a little low on pressure, but adequate. The sewer service was functional. Our trailer is less than 25 feet, so we got a spot for $28 per day. For Estes Park, that is very reasonable. The sites are kind of tight, but there were some big rigs there. The staff were helpful, and very friendly. I'm sure you could find a more up-scale park to stay in, but I doubt you could find a better value. We spend most of our time in the National Park hiking, so all we need is a comfortable place to park the trailer. We found it at Manor. Would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is on a slippery slope to extinction. If you manage to get your big rig through the small entrance, you will surely shake your fillings out as you past through it. It wasn't like that last year, but has washed out. The wi-fi is absolutely horrible. Last year, we would get around it by hooking onto the signal from another nearby campground, but this campground has caught on and now requires a security code. When we got here, the grass on our site was 12 inches high. When we left, two weeks later, it had not been mowed. It appears that the park may have been sold or changed management since many of the permanent models have been put up for sale. Overall, a bad, bad park, that continues to go downhill rapidly. Stay away. We will never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this campground many times. Always very clean and well kept. People are helful and friendly. Showers and bathrooms maintained very well and very clean. My only complaint is that the sites are all dirt and that can be very dirty with young children but that is part of camping. This campground is surrounded by Rocky Mountain National Park so that is a big plus. Lots of wildlife in and near your campsite. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Please note that I'm not recalling the nightly rate (didn't get a receipt from my Internet booking). First, the positives: Fabulous location! The tiered sites up the mountain allow for a lot of privacy. We shared a "tier" with 2 other motorhomes; would have been nice to know those folks, as we were kind of close. But everyone else was far away. Great amenities within walking distance, once you hook up your rig. Nice coffee shop with Wi-Fi (Estes Perk). Negatives. Initially, I thought it was positive that there was a private toilet/shower combination room. After I showered and dressed in the morning and opened the door to find an almost angry mob waiting, I realized the drawback. There were only 4 unisex toilet/shower rooms for all those campers at one level. (There was another set somewhere.) Not very efficient for processing the toilet users from the shower users. I felt sorry for the parents of young children. Overall, we were happy to stay here for one night. Beautiful location. But we would not return for an extended stay. The whole shower/toilet shortage would get very old. Also, they are building a B&B facility: lots of construction noise starting pretty early. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I love this park. It is very clean and well maintained. The cost field on this form is limited to two digit, but the cost per night for a cabin is $145. The cost for a trailer site is roughly $45 with true water front being a few dollars higher. I think the service and cabins are top notch, proven by the fact my wife and daughter and I have gone there the last two Mays in a row. I will agree with the reviewer stating the sites are very small. There are people with huge Class A motorhomes in there but I don't know how hard it would be to park as many of the sites are 'permanent party'. I have stayed in two of the cabins and both were wonderful. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

The stream front sites are very small and narrow. We were unable to get into the first site assigned to us because this campground has very narrow roads in and out. The second site took over an hour to get into with the help of the on site manager. The setting is wonderful next to the stream. This campground is located very close to the east entrance to RMNP. I would not stay here again unless I camped in a 20 foot or smaller trailer. The shower and laundry facilities were very clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Made a reservation in November, 2005 for 2 nights in June, 2006 on the river. The reason I chose this campground was that they offer sites directly on the riverbank. I had numerous e-mails with the reservation staff in November, 2005 and April, 2006 informing them of the size of my rig (29.8 foot 5r pulled by 22 foot F350) and was told "no problem" with the site. This campground is the size of a postage stamp. I'm guessing it rests on 4 or 5 acres. The sites are only about 10 feet wide. 99% of the sites are seasonal sites and there are only 2 or 3 sites they rent out on a nightly basis. I did not know this when I originally booked. The site we reserved, #9 (on the river) was a back-in site. Not only is this campground a nightmare to get into, there was no way our rig was getting into site #9 on the river. The seasonal campers that were surrounding site #9 took up any available space and the very nice managers tried to convince my husband and I that they could talk us through backing the rig into the site. After 15 minutes of completely jacknifing our rig, we had had enough. The only other site available was in the middle of the small campground, away from the river and surrounded by other campers. The only "view" was the sky and our neighbors. I told my husband I could have this view in my driveway in Wisconsin. I was suspicious of this campground to begin with as I found very little, if any, information on it. The pictures on the website were not helpful and there were no other reviews that I could find anywhere on the internet, hence, I'm warning all other possible campers with this review. The management was nice enough, however, their refund policy only gave us 1 night refund. Luckily we were able to get into Elk Meadow RV Park across the street where we enjoyed fantastic views of the Rocky Mountains from our campsite. Had I had more than 2 nights in Estes Park, I would have taken more time to complain about a full refund. I was just glad to get to be able to find an open site at another campground during the busy summer camping season. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Glacier Basin campground, paying $10/night with a Golden Age pass. We arrived shortly after 9:00 am on a Sunday morning, without a reservation, and were quickly escorted to a campsite for our 40' rig. At this time I think you can get in Glacier Basin w/o reservations, if you arrive early on days other than Friday and Saturday. It is difficult, but not impossible to get around the campground to your campsite in a big rig. Some going backwards and forwards is necessary, and you may get some scratches from the high overhanging branches. The campsites in the non-reserved sites are nice, with quite a few trees. I only give this campground an 8.0 because of the lack of hookups. You must boondock. And for the difficulty in getting a big rig to the campsite. But this is Rocky Mountain National park, one of the most spectacular of the National Parks, and a place that deals quite successfully with the hoards of visitors. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed 1 night in Moraine campground. Nice back in site in B loop. Always love to stay in the park to catch the evening ranger talks. We stayed in Moraine campground one night and Glacier Basin Campground 3 nights. Moraine is all reservations, but we got a site that had a cancellation. The shade trees here were good. Glacier is half reservation sites, which had very little shade as many trees were removed due to pine beetle infestation. We stayed in a first-come, first-serve site which was nicely shaded in Loop A. Elk wandered around in the campground. Hosts were friendly and on top of things. We plan to return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pricy for what you get like most things in Estes Park. Nice location along the river. Sites are not very long but they are wide, about twice as wide as an RV. Pads are sand/mud but you could tiptoe around on the mowed weeds to avoid the mud on rainy days. I didn’t see any pull throughs. Fishing available for a fee. Wi-Fi was good. Staff was friendly. Evidently run by the same company as Elk Meadow. Restrooms were newly painted, but I wish they had swept the floor before spreading the paint. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Front desk person was frazzled and not very friendly, but did get us checked in quickly and efficiently. No pull through sites meant we had to back in, but the escort stayed with us until we were settled. Close neighbors on 3 sides, and the site was all dirt, but other than that it was level and all the services worked. In summary, it is a fairly nice resort for Estes Park, which doesn't really have an upscale or luxury place to park your RV. We'll keep looking for a nicer place, but would stay here again if we didn't find anything better. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here 2 nights in a tent trailer. The bathrooms/showers were large, very clean and the best we have ever seen. The elk in the campground made the memories. Drawbacks: our site was muddy when it rained, it was expensive (they charge for pets), the fishing pond license was expensive. Also, with a sick son we had to depart early and forms/signs make it very clear that refunds for early departures are not provided. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Clean park with many things to keep you busy. Great for the kids: large playground, horseshoe pit, game room, etc. Clean bathrooms and pool. Staff very friendly and campsite just outside of Estes Park. Stayed here twice this summer and will go back next year. Cabins are available if you don't have an RV. Very cool campground for kids. Beware of altitude sickness. The campground is built on a foothill, which makes for fun trails and walks. Great playgrounds. Kids were invited to help Yogi with the flag lowering and folding ceremony. If I remember correctly, cell phone reception was minimal. Love how peaceful this campground is, up in the mountains. However, I wish they had the golf carts you could rent to get up and down those hills, like the one in Larkspur (Castle Rock) does. This used to be our favorite campground, but the last 2 years we've come here has been people drinking, fighting and yelling (Father's Day weekends), which ruined our family camping trip. Just seems to be getting a little ghetto. Still a beautiful place to camp with fun family activities. We camped here in a Tent.
