Great park to stop over at or visit the area. Located along the Colorado River with nice walking trail. Very nice sites both pull throughs and back ins. Very easy on and off the interstate. We always stop here for a couple of days when going through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Normally $20 a night but with the Senior rate it was $10. A beautiful National Park service campground. Up high on the ridge, the drive to it was spectacular. Adjacent to the Visitor Center. The ideal spaces were on the B loop, backside, because they overlooked the valley below. The restrooms were very modern and clean, 1 per loop. Enjoy the absolute silence, you could hear a pin drop miles away. Bring your food, it is a ways down to town. Water available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful location. Sites aren't very level, but do-able. Scenery is outstanding. The drive from the highway is exciting, even for an ol' mountaineer like myself. Campground host never did show himself, but was there, I presume. I'd go back, if even just to see get more "red-rock therapy." We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the only campground available inside the Colorado National Monument. It is situated on top of a plateau at approximately 5,700'. Short strolls from here will take you to stunning views of the city of Grand Junction and the Colorado River far below. The easiest access to the park is from the West (Fruita) entrance. From there it is about 4 miles to the campground. From the East (Grand Junction) entrance it is about a 19 mile drive to the campground. Both routes involve going through narrow tunnels with a minimum height of 11'5" at the edges and a maximum height of 16'1" near the center. The road in from the East entrance, which we used, is particularly narrow and winding with very few places to pull over and steep drop-offs. Be warned: if you do not like heights you will not like this road! The campground itself can accommodate RVs up to 32'. There are no hook-ups and I don't think there is a dump station, but water and flush toilets are available. Generator hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The scenery is great! We probably won't bring our motorhome here again, but would definitely tent camp or come in a smaller rig. The monument has beautiful scenery and lots of hiking trails. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice State park. There are is some road and train noise. The $28 nightly fee doesn't include a $7 a day State fee. The site was paved but the patio was gravel. The water pressure was a little on the low side, about #25 at the rig. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Amazing staff, spotless facilities, lovely, paved campsites with full and partial hook ups, stocked fishing ponds, and great surrounding views truly make this park a shinning gem in high desert of Fruita, CO. This park is a mountain bikers paradise base camp that is close to the I-70 - and all the world famous Fruita trails!- yet still near the many conveniences of town but isolated just enough that you really get a chance to relax. Our two week stay wasn't long enough! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here for one night driving through (this time) and also for a couple days to see the area two years ago. This is an excellent campground in every way and should be a model for others to follow. It is convenient to I-70, yet quiet. The spaces are huge, private, extremely clean and most all have a view of the Colorado State Monument. The restrooms, showers and laundry are all squeaky clean. There is a super playground if you have kids or grands with you. If that isn't enough it is pet friendly too.The $27 fee includes the $7 day pass for being a Colorado SP. Staying here while in Fruita is a no-brainer. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park on the west side of Grand Junction. Friendly and easy check-in. The site was very level and super clean with covered picnic table and fire ring/grill. Shrubs and small trees give privacy between the widely spaced sites. It is close to Colorado Monument and about 6 miles to Mesa Mall. Rate reflects Reserve America's outrageous reservation fees. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful surprise: a state campground that accommodates big rigs in most ways. The sites are plenty long but a bit narrow for popouts on each side on some of the pull-through sites. Everything is well maintained and they actually check and clean up your site before you pull in. They even have a clean and very reasonable laundry. Regarding the rate, they use Reserve America which adds $10 to the cost. If you're staying during the week there's a good chance you can drive up and get a full hook-up site for only $24 plus the $7 daily entrance fee. If you don't need sewer hookup, it's only $20 for a elec/water site. Call the campground directly and ask what your chances are of driving up and getting a site before calling the reservation number. We would certainly stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of our favorite parks in the West. We have been here four times, and each time we return, we have been delighted. The sites are spacious, widely spaced apart, and level. Most are pull-throughs and back-ins. Each has a shelter. The landscape is typical for the area and kind of scrubby but the grounds are extremely well kept and enhanced with plantings of lavender and other trees, shrubs and bushes. The park is on the Colorado River. The views of the Colorado National Monument are fabulous and we highly recommend the short drive to the Monument: which is a must see! The rangers are very friendly and helpful. Food shopping is just across the highway. We wish there were more parks like this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground right next to the Colorado river and the Colorado National Monument (make sure to take the rim drive). Campsites are large and well separated. Each site has a shade cover. The park is close to I-70 but I did not notice any significant road noise. If you are traveling through the Grand Junction area you can't beat this park. We will definitely stay here again. Easy interstate access. Pull-through site was tight turn for our 40' coach. Had to drop toad to maneuver around. The campground is well laid out offering lots of privacy when sitting out. Enjoyed the covered picnic table. Unfortunately, the fire pit was not installed properly and thus unusable. I mentioned it to the workers but they did not seem to care. Just to make note: the e-coli levels are high in the lakes so you can not go into them, and I surely would not eat the fish. The campground is located right next to a sewer treatment plant. We did not smell sewer gas on our visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice CG with great amenities, utilities and setting. You can see part of the Colorado Nat'l Monument from the CG. Access is very easy and all roads are paved. The rangers are all very nice and helpful, as were the camp hosts. The location, Fruita/Grand Junction, is great with all the pros of city life and none of the cons. The Colorado River runs through the CG and there are several fishing lakes as well. The vineyards/orchards in Palisades, right down the road, are very well worth the ride. In Fruita there is a pizzeria, called Hot Tomatoes, that is an absolute MUST, especially is you're a pizza lover. Awesome! There's no Wi-Fi here, but our Verizon Mi-Fi worked well, as did the satellite due to very little tree coverage. It was over 100 degrees everyday but bearable due to the low humidity. The heat index was in the low 90's. Once again, kudos to the Colorado State Park system. BTW: we had a annual park pass on the coach, so they issued a free pass for the toad for the time we were here. You have to pay the entrance fees one way or the other, but I think they're well worth it as the daily camp fees are cheaper than commercial CG's anyway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a state park with a nice layout. Check in people were not friendly or helpful, but they got the job done. Park is right on Colorado River in the town of Fruita (home of the famous headless chicken--don't ask). There are some shaded sites. Satellite TV was good. MIFI was good. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park itself was nice - level sites, modern facilities, good location for Colorado Monument, nice views, close to city services, friendly staff and fully functioning utilities. However, it was hot, and there was little shade for most full hook-up lake sites. Some of the inner sites had okay shade. Windy afternoons, so could not use awning for shade. Would be a good park during cooler weather. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice enough, good space, pull through. However, overpriced in my opinion. $20 plus $10 to make the reservation, then $7 each day for a car pass so the total was $37 with no sewer, no cable, no pool, no anything and just across the street is another RV park with full hookups, cable, pool, and spa for less money. State parks are becoming more expensive than private parks and offer less. Another small point was the car pass was required to be put on the passenger's side, but the booth was on the driver's side and the attendant could not see the pass. I asked why and was told because most parks have the attendant on the passenger side; it was required for all state parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this to be a very pleasant state park, with large, level, pull-through, and clean full hook-up sites. There was good space between sites. Ours was parallel to a large pond with the river nearby. Although it is close to I-70, there was minimal road noise. Nearby aspens were not mature enough for shade, but there are shade structures over picnic tables on each site. Surely was nice to hear them quaking in the breeze. Downside to camping in CO state parks is the daily fee on top of the camping fee: an incredible $70 for an annual pass which, although useful for us who plan to camp a couple of weeks in their parks, annoying considering an annual National Park pass is only ten dollars more! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The Fruita section has many pull-through sites that easily fit a big rig. The turn into the campground is the First Right that you come to as you join the road from the check-in booth (we saw many miss the turn). There is a fair sized parking area to turn around in if you miss the turn. Sites on the west side face the pond and have a nice view, but you do get the brunt of the afternoon sun. Sites are paved with a gravel tent pad. Picnic table has a covered area. Swim beach is closed due to bacteria. Nice playgrounds. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice state park with spacious, level sites, each with a covered picnic table and fire pit. Very few tall shade trees. Modern and well maintained, with a small visitor center at the entrance. Showers cost $1.00 for 4 minutes, they looked nice. Clean laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers ($1.00 to wash, $1.50 to dry), all worked well. Good cell signal, and our aircard worked good. Within walking distance to a few fast food restaurants and an excellent Mexican Restaurant. Easy access off the highway, slight road noise but didn't bother me. Swimming area closed due to health issue. The rate is for a full hookup, and you will be charged an additional $6.00 per day for day use. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Really nice campground and sites. Good distance between well laid out sites (we had a covered picnic table, flowering plants and close proximity to the lake). Close proximity to the Fruita town and Freeway. Sunrise and sunset are beautiful from this campground. There is a short trail along the river, but I didn't find it really scenic. Very clean restrooms/showers. Wish we didn't have to pay the $1 for 4 minutes of shower water but it was sufficient time. Really enjoyed staying here and will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this State Park before and love it. The sites are very large with many pull-throughs as well as back-in. It's next to a river and has a small lake for fishing and swimming. Must pay a $6 State Park fee in addition to the camping fee but worth it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Probably the nicest non-commercial campground we have ever stayed in. Our site was level, full hookups, and 50 amp electric. Read the other reviews for other amenities. There are mosquitoes around, but that's the price you pay for being near water. Speaking of water, the swim beach was closed for some unexplained reason. There are nearby train tracks, but the trains run very infrequently, so the relatively close proximity to the tracks wasn't an issue. The primary incurable defect of the park is traffic noise from the nearby Interstate 70. Depending on the wind direction and wind speed, the traffic noise could be slight, to noisy and very annoying. The other issue for our site that faced East (site #4) was the late afternoon sun - our awning doesn't dip low enough to be very effective for this particular situation and the sun angle. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This state park is conveniently located off the freeway right on the Colorado River. The small town of Fruita is about 1-1/2 miles away. Grand Junction is 8 miles away. The west entrance to the Colorado National Monument is 2 miles away. There is a train nearby, but for us the noise was not that intrusive and the trains did not run frequently. Each site has a picnic table, metal shade awning and firepit. All the sites are spacious and could accommodate almost any size RV. All the roads and sites are paved. We had a water and electric pull through. The pull throughs were very long but if we went back again, we would opt for a back-in site. One downside of the pull throughs is that the metal shade awning was built too close to the site apron and we could not bring out our awning. An awning is important in this campground since most of the sites do not have shade. Temperatures were near 100 when we camped here. The washers and driers were a little old but clean and reasonably priced. There is a book exchange. There are showers but there is a charge which I feel is a ripoff since, in addition to the campsite fee, you pay an day-use fee for everyday you are here. Our Verizon card and phone worked well here with Broadband access. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean restrooms, and nice area, but we had a difficult time getting stakes in the ground for a tent and you need bug spray being so close to the river. The price seemed a little high, and the showers were $1 for 4 minutes. We found the staff was extremely helpful and kind. We heard from some locals that swimming in the river wasn't a good idea, so we didn't attempt it. Convenient to grocery stores, McDonald's, and town, however the train that passes through the town is sure to wake you up!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the best state campground we’ve ever stayed in and highly recommend it. It has a lot to offer. The campground is 10 years old and has full hookups with 50 amp. Each RV site is paved, long, has a concrete pad, gravel area with a metal canopy for shelter, 10 foot metal picnic table and a fire ring. Roads are paved and no problems navigating onto your site. The park has a pond and you have access to the Colorado River within the park. The price includes a $6.00 vehicle fee per day. The park even has laundry services. The only negative is there's no cable TV. Our Verizon cell phone and wireless internet card and satellite dish worked well. We visited Colorado National Monument and Grand Junction during our stay. Both are close by. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great park. The charge is $25 for camp fees and $6 per car for park entrance. Hence the $31 charge. May charge double for motor-home and towed car. This is a lovely state campground right on a lake. There is easy access to the interstate and close to the Colorado National Monument. Fruita is just minutes away from Grand Junction and its amenities. The campground is beautifully maintained and the sites are large and spaced far apart. The reason I have rated this campground so low is the additional daily charges that you have to pay over and above the camping fee(s). For each day you stay at this campground, you must pay $6 for your RV vehicle and $6 for your towed vehicle. We were being picked up by friends at the campground, and they were not allowed to come in unless they paid $6 entry fee. It was not the money but the principle that they would not bend the rules and simply allow a person in the campground to pick up or drop off a resident. The park staff woman in the office actually laughed and was very sarcastic, taking pleasure in our having to walk to and from our camp site. This could be difficult for those that have health problems and/or are elderly. We were embarrassed to say the least. We would not stay at this campground or any other Colorado State park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is definitely one of the nicer state parks anywhere, not just in Colorado. Views of the Colorado National Monument are fantastic. Sites are quite large, and have level cement pads, a gravel area with a picnic table and fire ring, and the table had a shelter over it. Temps now are in the mid 90s during the day, but cool to 55 overnight. We did not use or check out the showers as they are coin-operated. Shade trees are few and far between. Nightly rate for a full hook-up site is $22. There are also electric-only sites. There is a $6 per vehicle per day park fee in addition which can add up quickly. We bought the annual park pass instead. Early in the morning, with the windows open, the traffic on I-70 is audible, and there is an occasional train whistle at a distance. We would definitely come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fabulous campsite close to highway, but with no traffic noise. We were in site 40 with an unobstructed view of the lake and spectacular sunsets, as well as great mountain views. This is a fairly new state park with spotless laundry and shower facilities. Good paved roads with level, pull through sites, each with a covered picnic table. The tent camping area was also great, with general parking and walk ways to the tent sites and plastic wheelbarrows to ferry your belongings to your camp area. Very open feel to this State Park, although not much shade. We would definitely stay here again! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Colorado has some great state parks, and this is one of them. Level concrete pads, full 50 amp hook-ups, acres of manicured grass, paved interior roads, and laundry facilities make this a great place to stay. Its proximity to town is both good and bad; we prefer to be more out in the country. It is quiet, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great state park, one of the best we have seen. Well laid out. Sites have a covered picnic table, place for a tent, and a fire ring. The sites and roads are paved and there is nice visitor service center. Maximum stay is 14 days. Reservations are recommended for the peak season. Only one gripe and that has been addressed before, both the motorhome and the towed vehicle are required to purchase a daily vehicle pass. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful and extremely well maintained park. The landscaping is tremendous. The sites are concrete and level with grill, fire rings and covered picnic tables. The roads are paved. If you have dogs this is a great campground for walking. We were in site #40 which was well situated as there were no other sites in front of us as we sat to look from the outside area. The Colorado River flows along the campground. The host we got to visit with was very friendly and had plenty of firewood. The park is very close to shopping and restaurants, in fact you could walk. It is also well situated to Colorado National Monument, The Arches (Moab, UT), Palisades. Fruita is a small town with grocery shopping, drug store, etc. Fiesta Guadalajara is a fine Mexican restaurant. Beware of the vehicle fees for state parks. One is charged for the RV as well as the tow car. We continued to use the passes we had purchased in Rifle. I-70 is very close, although not close enough to be a nuisance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This state park is near the town of Fruita and adjacent to the Colorado River. There is a small boating and fishing lake. The sites are large and level with picnic tables and shade structures. The fee structure is a little odd. We paid $18 for a site with water and electricity. If we had unhooked our toad it would have been an additional $8. Since we were just staying the night we left the toad hooked up. If you were towing a car and couldn't get a pull-through site and had to unhook to get into a back-in site, would you still have to pay the additional fee? I guess so - the park staff didn't seem very flexible on this issue. There is some traffic and other "city" noise here as the campground is not too far off the freeway and near an interchange with convenience stores, fast food places and such. It's a pretty nice campground and would make a good base for seeing Colorado National Monument and the Grand Mesa National Forest. It is certainly a less expensive alternative to the commercial RV parks in the area and prettier too. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground is clean and well laid out. We were charged 12 dollars per night just to enter the park ( 6 dollars for the motorhome and 6 dollars for the towed vehicle). We traveled for seven hours to get there and were too tired to find a different campground. If you need to use their showers they are pay also. Instead of the 22 dollars a day for the camp site, it really would cost an additional 16 dollars for a total of 38 dollars. We will not camp here or any other Colorado State Park. Its not because of the cost but because of the fact that we were not informed prior to our arrival. We also paid an 8 dollar reservation fee but no one told us about the extra costs. Very nice site. Wide roads and spaces, easy pull through or back in. Note that there is $6 per day per vehicle charge if you are not a Colorado State Parks member. Only thing I didn't like was the $1 charge for 4 minutes in the shower, plus 25 cents each additional minute. But they were clean and easily accessible. Nice laundry facilities. This is a nice campground, it deserves a 10 but it does not have the RV amenities. We chose a electric/water site, there are full hookup sites available. All the sites are pull thrus with covered tables and fire rings. The roads and sites are asphalt. There is a little lake which you can take a non power boat on and the Colorado River is next to the campground. Restrooms were clean, showers are a dollar for 4 minutes. We would stay here again. Best designed campground I ever see. All the campgrounds should be designed this way. Most of the sites are pull-thru and have plenty of space between the sites. Table and bench are under the cover so eating outside in bad weather is not a problem. The campground is exceptionally clean and flat. We were there during peak season and campground still not full. No need to make reservation to save the $8 reservation fee. I didn't give it a 10 because it has no pool and the playground is too small and simple. They also charge $6 entry fee for each vehicle. If you tow, that's $12 extra. Wish all the campgrounds are like this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice new facilities and concrete pads. Plenty of space. Not too much shade, but great views of the Colorado National Monument - and you're in the best location to drive or bike the Rim Road. There was even a free concert in the park one night. You are near the Interstate, but it's quite quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the few parks that I rate as a "10". The facilities were excellent, spacious and spotless with all the basic amenities one needs for a just a stop along the way or a longer stay to explore the Colorado National Monument. We stopped over for one night, and very much enjoyed this state park. Plenty of space to walk our dogs, easy pull through access, level paved sites. Showers clean, with a charge of $.25/minute w/4 minute minimum, which was plenty. A slight inconvenience if you forget the quarters. I can imagine the park being packed in the high season. If you enter after hours, pay attention to the instructions. It will tell you which spaces are available. Having to use two payment envelopes ($22 for camping, $6 for access) was a bit inconvenient as well if you don't have the right change. River close by and small lake w/lots of waterfowl close by. Sites are spacious, well set up,with concrete pads and services in good position for easy hook-up. There is a mixture of pull-thrus and back in with half having full-hook ups, the rest are water and electricity. I concur with the comments about how nice the campground is, but the pricing structure will cause me to avoid it in the future. The listed rate was $16/night for our W/E site, but we had to pay an additional $5 for the motorhome itself, plus another $5 for our toad, making the total $26 for our site. If we had been in a truck pulling a trailer, it would have been $5 extra for the truck and nothing extra for the trailer itself, for a total of $21 for the same number of rolling items and living units that come into the park. This was not indicated anywhere on the website and amounted to more than a 50% increase over the listed rate. Also, showers are coin-operated, if that enters into your decision whether to pay extra for a site with a sewer hookup ($4 more). We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was one of the nicest campgrounds we ever stayed at. Each RV site (44 of them) had a concrete pad, patio, gravel area with picnic table (a nice one) and a ramada. Water was excellent. There was a lake and the Colorado River right there. FHU sites have 50 amp service. WE sites have 30 amp. The roads were all paved and all the areas were surrounded with manicured lawns. Also, a very quality playground area. Tent sites separate from RV sites. A lot of space between sites. No parking lot feel at all. Restrooms were top of the line-much nicer than most private parks. If ever in Grand Junction area, you must stay here. Within 5 minutes of Colorado National Monument also. FHU $20/nite, WE $16/nite We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate shown is with Good Sam discount. Paved park roads and gravel sites. Our site was a level, good gravel back-in with a picnic table and a large shade tree. Most of the shade trees are located in the back-in sites. Most of the pull-throughs looked open. All utilities worked fine. Excellent cable TV. Wi-Fi good enough for e-mail and browsing (occasionally slow) as internet via satellite from Tengo. We were given a free 7 day subscription for an overnight stay. I would stay here again if a shady site was available as it does get hot in this part of Colorado. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The first thing that comes to my mind about this clean, well maintained RV park is "keep movin' folks, there's nothing to see here". Not that the area isn't stunning, centrally located to many outdoor activities and well worth hiking, biking and exploring, its just the park itself is simply a fenced parking lot with super tight, level spaces on pea gravel. The laundry room and bathrooms are very clean and the Wi-Fi signal is adequate. The location is near the I-70 and literally across the street from the James M . Robb CO State Park-Fruita Section that offers nice walking and fishing opportunities. There is also good Mexican and Chinese food in the area and you can walk out the back gate of the Monument RV Park and go to lunch or dinner. Up the road, you can take Kings View Dr. to a great off-leash area where the dogs can swim in the lake and hike the beautiful hills. Monument RV park is not dog friendly, although there is a tiny gravel dog run. The staff is OK, but you get the feeling like you are being patrolled by an angry school principal who smiles, but packs a bit of nasty side. This park is a good overnight stay if you can't get into one of the fantastic, local state parks, or, if you need a RV park for monthly use or RV storage. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The rest rooms and showers were clean but few in number. The sites were very close together; lots of big rigs, no shade. They advertise as being pet friendly but definitely are not! The only area dogs are allowed in is an 8'X10', gravel "pet run." No grass anywhere. WiFi worked but instructions to get on internet are obscure, CATV was okay. Since there was practically nowhere to walk our dog, I'm glad we only stayed one night and won't be returning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped here on way through Colorado for one night. Convenient locations. Facilities are OK. Pool is small and water was a bit green. Play set was nice. All gravel and asphalt, no grass or trees near pull throughs. Pull throughs were level. Restrooms and showers were close to us and clean. We were not treated well, and I am not sure this is a child friendly park. The office was open until 6PM. We went to buy some souvenirs and got to office at 5:52. They turned the OPEN sign off as we walked up, and rudely dismissed my wife and 4 kids and would not allow them in to buy anything. Manager came by our spot later to apologize, but did nothing to help. We will not ever stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We pulled into this park after hours after a long drive. The after-hours sheet was easy. The space we were in used to have shade trees but all that were left were stumps. The dog-walking area appeared to be narrow grassy area behind our RV which meant every time someone came to walk their dog, our dogs went nuts. The biggest disappointment was when the kids went to the pool and found what looked like an experiment for making bio-diesel. Both the hot tub and pool were green with algae and leaves. A sign stated that they were closed for the season. If you don't have pets and don't plan on using the pool, this RV park very close to the Colorado Monument entrance. The Starvin Arvin is just up the road with good chow and nice folks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not Dog friendly. Was yelled at by park officicals for letting dog on another lot close with sparce grass. Dog park nothing but a 12 by 15 gravel ground for you to let them do their business. Laundry room defers any dog bedding cleaning. Otherwise if you are traveling without dogs: gravel, clean, not always friendly but doable. Pool was unavailable on June 7th? Have clean showers, laundry. Staff slow but friendly when arriving. For the price: I hoped for more. The state park across the road provided grass for our walk. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

No view of Colorado River as stated. You can see the top of the national monument but this is over a solid fence. No grass at any sites, all gravel/stone which may be OK if you don't have a dog but it is dusty. Dog run is all gravel/stones and small (my dogs won't use this). Only good grass has lots of "no dog" signs. There is a bit of grass but not much by a fence area. Table at site is not usable (splintering wood, not maintained). Office lady was very nice but man who was suppose to help us park was rude and did not appear to know the correct parking arrangements. We've stayed here every time we've passed through the I-70 corridor. It is great when it is uncrowded, but when it is nearly full, it is not. Normally, I would give this park a 10 for the cleanliness and location. This was the cleanest RV Park I’ve ever stayed at. The only problem I had with it was a hot tub that my daughter who was one month shy of her 16th Birthday was not allowed to use. Sorry, but I saw no reason for this and we stayed at other places with hot tubs just like the one at this park and even my 7 year old had no problem. This was not an understandable rule to me. So in an overall review, If I’m traveling that way again and have kids 15 and under I will not stay here. If I’m alone or with kids 16 and over then I will stay here. That is also my recommendation for any other people traveling in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park. Very convenient to the interstate, but you do not get any noise from the road. It is within walking distance of several places to eat and directly across from a state park and the Colorado River. The restrooms were clean and modern and the laundry was clean. Had good Verizon strength. The 24 hour free WiFi worked well, but as others have said, never saw a place give you free WiFi for 24 hours and then charge. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel: a bit close on one side, but not bad. You can wash your rig for a $10 fee. The pool and hot tub were closed for the season, even though it was 90 degrees! One of the reasons I picked the park was the pool. No reduction in price. I thought the price was a bit high since the pool and hot tub were closed. Be sure and check out the fruit stand up the street, great peaches! Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great location for touring Colorado National Monument and Dinosaur Discovery Center. Easy access off I-70. This is a nice clean park close to restaurants and gas stations. It was over 100 degrees during our stay so we especially appreciated the small pool and spa. Spaces are gravel with a table in the usual close, side by side layout of many parks with only a few trees scattered around the park for shade. A little bit of grass between spaces would have been nice. Free wireless was for only 24hrs after which you must sign up and pay for service ($5) and was very sporadic. Management was very friendly. Even though the amenities were very basic we enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a convenient campground right off I-70 and easy in and out. Several fast food stores within walking distance. OK for 1-3 nights, but I wouldn't recommend it for long stays. The dog run is very nasty and has probably never been sanitized. I hated taking my dog there and then back into the RV. One pleasant discovery for walking your dog is a state park trail directly across the street. I took several walks by myself also. This discovery made our stay more pleasant. The cable TV was good, but the "free WI FI" turned out to be for the first 24 hours, then you need to pay. We would stay here again but never more than 1 or 2 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camp here about 4 times per year as a first/last night on our trip. We've reviewed Monument several times. Many long-term residents working in the energy business. Staff was helpful. Easy in easy out. Wide level gravel sites. We had a shear bolt break on one of our slides. Stay well away! Office was locked, and no one was around when we arrived at 7:05 p.m. Standard paperwork permitted check-in, but bathrooms/showers were locked tight. Wireless internet, free at the previous 10 places we'd stayed, cost $4.95 for 24 hours. We chose this park because of its proximity to the Colorado National Monument. It has paved roads and gravel sites. There are a few trees but overall it looks like a desert campground. The campground was quiet and well kept. The restrooms were clean and new. The pool was very small but we did not use it so it was immaterial to us. It is convenient to the interstate and to Grand Junction. The cable offered several channels and I didn't mind paying for the internet (4.95/day or 14.95/week) because it was fast and reliable. We stopped in here for just one night. We got there late and had to check ourselves in. The check in process was pretty simple. Everything we saw of this campground looked really good. The location is nice with a Colorado visitor center next door. The one drawback is that they offer internet access but it is not free. Good for an overnight stay We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is just fine for a stop to see the Colorado Monument or Grand Junction. There are many permanent residents. The big rig pull-thru sites are long enough for our 45 foot bus and car trailer and wide enough for the SUV next to the trailer but that's all. The sites are all gravel with no grass between and are close together. Laundry was poor but there is a good commercial laundromat in GJ. WiFi is Tengo. Both Verizon and AT&T air cards worked well. Satellite was fine although an adjacent coach with a dome appeared to be blocked by a tree - they had no service. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This immaculate park with all the bells and whistles is delightful. Staff helpful. Sites level. Near the CO National Monument, a oft-overlooked gem. We would definitely recommend it without reservations. We camped in a travel trailer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We, too, were somewhat reluctant about this park because of earlier negative comments, but found them to be either not representative of current conditions or overstated. We found the office staff to be friendly and helpful, the "big rig" sites are among the largest we've seen and the services are all more than adequate. There are two laundries, both with more than average washers and dryers. We didn't see the "permanent" sites mentioned by others. That doesn't mean they aren't there, but we weren't bothered by them if they were near us. We had to leave two days early because of an emergency and they refunded to us one night's costs, which they did not have to do, but we appreciated. The only negative is that the sites are all gravel, with no grass in between, and if, as it did when we were there, it rains heavily, they tend to puddle extensively. It is definitely a family park and we were there on a holiday weekend, so there were a large number of children, which some people might find off-putting, but we weren't bothered. We would definitely come back here, despite the somewhat pricey rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very clean and quiet park with a separate section for big rigs with very long pull-thrus. The sites were quite level, all gravel, no trees and my only complaint was that they were a little close together. The water and sewer hookups were somewhat strange but not a problem. For those who want to visit the Colorado National Monument, it is a perfect stopping place. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a delightful, well-manicured RV park with extremely long spaces (ours was 95 feet), wide paved streets, beautiful views, and everything you could want in an RV Park. Others have commented on pipeline workers who reside in the park and there are some but management insists that their sites be clean and neat, and they are. I would rate this park a 10 across the board except for two reasons: Their wi-fi service costs a ridiculous $5.00 daily, is through what is arguably the worst RV park internet provider in the county, TengoInternet. The service is very poor despite the extremely high price. The other drawback is the location of the water connection. It is below ground and you literally have to stand on your head to connect your hose. For these reasons I drop them from a 10 to an 8. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Used this campground as first day out and last day out on this trip. Was surprised that there were vacancies in overnight spaces on both nights. Most of park is long term residents working in the energy boom. Helpful staff, easy in and out. Wifi worked fine. Nothing fancy but works for us. Sites are gravel and level. Don't have to disconnect toad. If I was staying for extended period of time, we would stay across the street in the state park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

DO NOT stay here! The park itself was very well planned and beautiful. They have nice big log buildings, a pool, laundry facilities, dog runs and everything else that you would want in an RV park. The administration was an absolute terror to deal with. The ladies in the office were incredibly rude. They walk around the park every 10 minutes looking for someone to harass. You will get NO privacy staying here. We were told that we could not BBQ outside or just hang out outside of the RV. (Isn't that what RV-ing is all about?) The RV spots were really close together. Our slide out was literally 3 inches from another trailer and their slide-out was just as close to ours, almost as if we were interlocked. They claim to be pet friendly, but you are not allowed to have your pet outside for extended periods of time, even if you are outside with them. We travel full time and live in our RV and this was the WORST experience I have ever had! We paid upfront for 2 months and stayed less than a month. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rude, Rude, Rude. These words say it all. I have never ever been treated so horrible in my life. This campground should be shut down or sold to nicer people. The park manager (don't know his name) was very loud and cursing rude. The red head behind the counter; Oh my Word! I will pray several times a day that God will save you. She thinks the only way is her way, and if you don't go and ask her permission you will be in for the most horrible ride of your life. Please stay somewhere else and save yourself a lot of pain. The showers and washer and dryers where filthy and made your clothes stink. I stayed here for three months, and it was like I was in HELL!! It should be named HELL ON EARTH because the Devil and his witches live there. I paid over $500.00 a month for this pain. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Difficult to rate because of the residents of park. Park itself is good. Gravel sites, good power, and workcamper was very nice. Problem is all the energy workers and lots of trucks and cars in the park make it somewhat difficult to get in and out. No management on site (only workcampers as far as I could tell) so security is questionable. I would stay across the street at state park. Price is about the same. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is very ordinary with crowded sites, gravel, and lots of "permanent" energy workers with trashier rigs. Baths and showers were not very clean. We spent one night and left. The next day we found that our rear license plate had been stolen and when we called this park to tell them of the incident so they could beef up any security, they did not seem to care. We will not stay here again! There is a beautiful Colorado State Park directly across the street: we will stay there from now on. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here many times. Use it to make a stop at the vineyards for some Colorado wine or great fruit. Monument is like an old pair of shoes feels the same every time you stop. We stayed here over the 4th and the park filled up after about 7pm. Had great neighbors and it was late night. The website shows a lot of big trees, but they have had to cut a number of them down because of age and disease. It is a great place to stay to be able to see the dinosaur experience across the street and the various dino quarries. The Coronado National Monument is a great trip as is Montrose. We went into Grand Junction, and spent some time in the shops downtown. There is also a choice of three Brewpubs there, and we went to the Kannen Valley one. We would stay in this park again.. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Have camped here several times a year for about five years. Use it as a first night out or last night out. Have noticed this year that with the growing gas drilling economy about half of campground is long-term residents. But they are at the back of the campground. Clean, level, easy in/out. A bit expensive for what you get. Some sites have large nearby shade trees. $35 for full hookups less Good Sam discount. Don't arrive between 12 and 1 as the office will be closed and the telephone not answered. The center bathrooms/laundry was better looking than most people have in their homes (5*). At least half the sites are monthly residents with a few children. It was pretty quiet all the time we were there. WiFi is from TengoNet for extra $. Sometimes a stray WiFi signal would come through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We tried to stay here, but it didn't happen. We had reserved a space with a deposit and when we got there, they had rented it to somebody else. They were very busy so maybe they thought we weren't going to show. Who knows? They wouldn't give us a reason and they were very rude. They refunded our deposit. We chose an electric/water only site because we were only going to be there 2 nights. That turned into 4 nights. But the restroom/shower area looked like it had just been re-finished. It was beautifully done with tile everywhere. Sites are large, reasonably level limestone base with a picnic table. Roads are paved and the place looks well kept. There seems to be a number of seasonals. But that is never and issue with us. Their sites were well kept too. The office staff was friendly. They have a few RV supplies and some snacks. They are close to the interstate but not close enough for noise to be a factor. It is easy on/off the interstate. James Robb State Park is right across the street. I think it's a better deal. We paid $26 electric/water. We could have had FHU for $25 in the state park. If you camp at the state park a site is about $20. But you must pay a $5/vehicle daily use fee unless you have an annual pass. But the sites are beautiful. Monument was ok. But if I were in the area again, I'd stay at James Robb State Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, well-maintained park. The management needs to go to "charm school" but the Workampers are GREAT. Pool and spa are very clean. Not much grass. Reason they charge $5.00 res. fee is because State Park (across street) charges $8.00 res. fee. Suggest you call and ask if they have space, if so don't make res. Big rig friendly sites and access. We camped with 40' MH, Jeep and 20' trailer all at site with plenty of room. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is conveniently located a short distance from the Interstate and walking distance to the Colorado Visitors Center. Across the street is a beautiful Colorado State Park with camping facilities also. The park is very clean and neat. WIFI was available for an additional charge, but was down for long periods of time during our 4-week stay. The reservation, bookkeeping and site management system created long waits for registration even when reservations had been made. There appeared to be constant confusion with regard to which spaces were rented, which were open and their classification; daily, weekly, or monthly? The $5.00 reservation fee is not applied to your stay. Rates fluctuate based on area activities. To insure a positive stay, be thorough when making reservations ask lots of questions. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here for an overnighter on our way to Las Vegas. It was great to have use of a whirlpool after 29hrs of being on the road. Many RV parks do not have pools/whirlpools. Monument is squeeky clean and has a excellent shower building. They also have a great view of the Colorado National Monument and are across the street from the Colorado River State Park. The owner (I think he was) went out of his way to get our cable TV hooked up. Our site did not have the connector for some reason. He ran a splitter of the adjoining site for us. The draw backs were small sites (which for an overnighter we didn't care) and that the seasonals just sort of stared at us for the longest time while were setting up. Nothing like having the new neighbors welcome you. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I did not stay here but visited friends who were and I agree, the management needs some help in properly dealing with folks. I emailed my disappointment to them regarding the non use of supposedly anything by guests (my kids were kicked out of the pool when swimming with friends who were camping there) and to my surprise a quite nasty, presumptuous email came back. Not really worth my time dealing with this further just be forewarned that this may not be the place for you unless you like parking lots, hard nosed management, and a policy that keeps your guests on the outside looking in. You have just got to see what the new owners have done with this park. We stayed here last year and swore we would never go back. It is absolutely unbelievable what they have done. Everything is brand new. The trees have been trimmed for 'big rigs'. They have completely remodeled the restrooms, tile from floor to ceiling. They are wonderful and clean. The new laundry has brand new machines and is sparkling clean. They have installed a pool and hot tub. They have workampers there that bend over backwards to help you enjoy your stay. This park is number one in our book. Oh, and they paved all of the roads along with putting in new landscaping. We will definitely be returning to this park time after time. We camped here in a camper.

This is a beautiful park and the new owners are giving it a "real" facelift. They are putting in a pool and hot tub and are paving the roads. The park is in a beautiful area and close to everything. They have a small store on the grounds and the little town has a nice large grocery store. They have very friendly workampers that are very helpful. A excellent park right off I-70 just at the base of the National Monument Park. We loved it here and will put it on our list of parks to return to. We camped here in a camper.
