When we first pulled into the park I wasn't impressed. After a couple hours here I came to really like it. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The sites have side by side hookups but they are roomy, so that isn't a problem. The pool is large and warm. Showers are sparkling clean, large, and have great water pressure. There are 2 dog walking areas with bag stations. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at Chief Hosa. We elected to stay just three days this time as we are not fond us using the "Blue Boys" to empty the tanks. But, at least they were available if you need them! The sites are all dirt which makes for a not so nice site when it rains. Sites are also very narrow. To me this is a true "campground" not an RV park. Lots of tent campers and children. The best part of Chief Hosa is the elevation, which is 7700 feet, so it is much cooler than Denver. Staff is also very accommodating. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I love this campground! Yes you do have to pay for showers, however they are beautiful and very clean! I even felt comfortable without my flip flops on. Yes some of the sites are somewhat difficult to get into, but they are not impossible. You just need to have patience! You have to realize that you are camping on the side of a mountain!! I loved being under the pines. We had no problem with being level and we just a had a wonderful short stay. The attendants are very sweet people and very helpful. We traveled with two children under 13 and our pooch! I would come back here in a heartbeat!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The good thing about this park is it's location, along a riverwalk, about 3 blocks from Historic Downtown Golden, beautiful setting. A lot of RV's parked in a small area, sites close together with little room to park tow vehicle. Gravel sites, mostly level, with paved interior roads. A dump station at the entrance, a short one-way road. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The restrooms/showers, and laundry were well maintained. Their Wifi worked excellent. They do not take reservations. I called the morning I wanted to arrive and was put on a list. When I arrived there were no full hook up sites available, so I took a electric only site. The next day a full hook site became available and I moved. It was a hassle, I don't know why they don't take reservations. Rate includes tax and Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Being right next to a walking path along the river was perfect and the campground is within walking distance to downtown golden. Sites are small and our awning couldn't open because of a really close tree, but most people staying here were very courteous and respectful of the small space. Laundry area is clean and all machines were always in working order. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. October through May is when monthly rentals are allowed and I sure do wish they allowed it year round. Monthly rate of $635 during that time included electric and was a great deal compared to other rates in the area. Maybe not the best park for families if your intention is to have a lot of outdoor activities for the kids readily available. But perfect if you're just here to visit the town of golden and other local spots. We've really enjoyed our stay here and will be back next winter if we are in town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this little park! Yes, you are packed in tight like sardines & it's tough to get in but you are right on a lovely creek with a nice walking path and a 10 min walk into town. There is a city community center across the street with a full gym, classes, indoor pool & a lovely park. The staff was wonderful & the facilities extremely clean. We were able to get a few TV stations with our antenna. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Clean, quiet, well kept park with amenities that include a pool, hot tub, great laundry room, clubhouse, etc. Staff is friendly and efficient. They pick up your trash from your curbside. VERY dog friendly (no vicious dogs or breeds) and an incredibly large off leash area up the small hill for dogs to run. Trails close by. Easy in/out, easy access to anything you need in town. There is a bar close by and one Saturday night (we were here 2 weeks) the band was VERY loud but over with by 10. We'd stay here again. There are many outdoor things to do around here, and even some hiking and biking right from the park. There are longer term residents, but they don't 'look' like it. Very well kept park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were there visiting our son at school in Lakewood. There are very few campgrounds in the area to choose from, but Dakota Ridge was lovely. Pretty central to Denver and the western mountains for climbing and hiking. Grounds were pretty and clean. Nice hot tub after a day skiing. Office staff friendly. Planning on staying here again next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We could practically move here permanently, that's how great this place is. Friendly staff, immaculate grounds and facilities, and easy access to Golden and Denver make this a park you'll want to check into for more than one night. The pool wasn't open yet for the season, but the clubhouse was open and enticing with several nice games tables and a small but good fitness room. The showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities looked new and were very well maintained and clean. We didn't even have to haul our trash to the dumpster - just put it at the edge of our site and it was picked up daily. Even the Wi-Fi, a common complaint of mine, was reliable. We're not TV watchers, but were told that an antenna on our motorhome would pick up about 30 channels. Our two nights here were much too short and we look forward to returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Fantastic! Although we have lived in the Denver metro area all of our lives, this was our first trip to Reverend's Ridge Campground. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Calm, quiet and very peaceful. Dense trees make it feel you are far from civilization and provide plenty of privacy from neighbors. Wide variety of sites available, some are better than others, check the park website before picking. We were in B Loop site #16. Very long pull-throughs, but be aware of your turns with many, many trees around. Some of the back-in sites were for small trailers only. Good electrical hookups and the dump station was fair. (On a slope, so my black tank didn't drain completely) The only reason it didn't get a 10, was the showers. Although modern, they were dirty/moldy with tepid water. Very high pressure, so watch out! For us, it was a bit of a walk to the showers as there is only one shower house in the area. A nice walk anyway! Lots of dogs around (A+ in our book!) And the rangers kept everything under control. The camp store doesn't have much, so pack well. We can't wait to return! A tip: Golden Gate Canyon is a very twisty 18 miles. The alternate route is Highway 72 / Gap Road, less twisty, but steep in places. We did both, prefer Gap Road! (Gap Road is NOT paved for the last 6 miles) We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

To me camping is getting away from civilization. Public parks generally offer camping experiences. Private parks work best for people who are looking for a spot to park their motel on wheels. I was thrilled to find a state park so close to a convenience store. It also had multiple hiking trails and wonderful camp sites. We came in from the south up 119. It is not a bad drive. The park was almost empty when we were here: mid week after school had started. I only have two complains. The poorly designed dump site. There are two sewer hookups 10 feet apart on the same side. There is no way for 2 rigs to dump at the same time unless they are both under 10 feet. The other was the one armed bandits in the showers. It took all my quarters but refused to reset so I could rinse the shampoo from my hair. I ended up rinsing my hair in the fish cleaning area. I had to be fully clothed of course to pull this off. This has happened to me twice now in CO state parks. I don't mind putting the quarters in pay showers. But the dang things should work! I am glad to know the rangers are ticketing irresponsible pet owners who let their dogs run off leash. I have talked to 3 hosts this year who have been bitten. It is getting to be a real problem. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground, but it's pretty remote. Being from the moderately flat midwest, we were not expecting such a climb pulling our trailer, and 14 miles of twisty road to get up to the campground. (Note: bring your RV/Camper up from the South instead of Golden Gate Canyon Road!) If we had realized it was so remote, we would have picked somewhere with easier access to Denver and freeways. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to civilization. Campground was scenic and trails were great. We thought we could stay here and save a few bucks on camping fees, but then a rather unfriendly park patrolman gave me a $50 ticket for having a dog off leash. (It was an 11 p.m. bathroom run for my son, and there was nobody in our whole circle except us and my parents.) So be prepared to follow the book. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is the WORST park ever. RUDE staff, small lots, out dated electrical boxes. Very expensive electric bill: $200+ a month no matter if you are here or not. Nit picky!! You will get a note on your door daily. We got our truck stuck in the snow and the manager came out yelling saying we needed to get our truck out of the way NOW. NO HELP AT ALL. Pay the extra money and go across the street! You will be much happier!!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a campground we found in Woodalls that had a vacancy. We had no trouble with our rig getting in and there were 40 ft. motorhomes here as well. It's a doable place, but there are few transients. Most seem to be long term residents. The sites are either gravel or completely concrete. There is little grass anywhere and the dog walk area was an area completely filled in with gravel. We walked our dogs over to an area where a mobile home was deserted and there was no grass, only trimmed weeds. It was stated that if your dog went on their grass, you'd be asked to leave. The sites are so close together that you cannot let out your awning--you or your neighbor have to decide who's going to let their awning out. Our last night, a fifth wheel pulled in with no slides--if he'd had slides, we both could not have let out our slides. They try to solve this problem but having one RV park east to west, and their neighbor is parked west to east. The plus is that you're close to I-70, can go straight downtown to the mint on Colfax(about 12 miles) or to the capital. It's close to Coors Brewery, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Buffalo Bill Museum and gravesite. There's a much nicer park just across the street with grass at every site at $10 more per night and they charge $3 for 50 amp per night as well as $1 per pet per night. I guess you get what you pay for, but they were full when we got here and this was a doable alternative. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Level sites but VERY narrow, no room to even sit outside. Everything was concrete. Lots of permanent residents. We felt like we had to go to the restroom or walk around the park with a buddy, did not feel safe. We were to stay 3 nights, but after the 1st one left the park for another one. Our credit card was charged for the full 3 nights the day I made the reservation. No refunds allowed. Website shows it is a RPI park, but no discount was allowed. We would DEFINITELY not stay here again or recommend for anyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We decided to stay here from the previous reviews. We got one of the sites that require a parallel park. That wouldn’t be bad for a shorter fifth wheel but at 38 feet it isn’t easy getting in. There is no sewer so when the tanks need dumped it is move or use a Blue Boy tank to get the tanks dumped and to the dump station. The site was way off level and the WiFi is a real pain when it even works - which isn’t too regularly. There is a cumbersome procedure to log in and the router keeps dropping me out. The hosts are real friendly and the office staff is nice. Showers are really nice and the baths are clean. The gravel sites are pull through and seem fairly level. There are a lot of events that go on here and some can be entertaining. I would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We've stayed here about 4-6 weeks (sometimes for 1 week sometimes for 4 weeks at a time) a year for the past three years. The camp hosts and office staff are extremely friendly. The dump station is kept locked to keep people from Denver from driving though the campground. If you tell the camp host that you'd like to use the dump in advance, it is always opened for you. The showers are the cleanest we've even seen. One of the camp hosts cleans them every morning. We've never had a problem with the WI-FI. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not bad for price but has some problems. WiFi simply will not work except very near shelter house or toward east of park. The dump station is always locked and when you call it takes quite a while for anyone to arrive, then its relocked and everyone else has to beg also to get open. When the camp host are present they are really good at opening it. And they hardly ever open the water so you can't rinse you dump hose. They are really paranoid about that dump station. They also make you move around a lot due to contracted events, really nerve rattling to not know if you have a site. Office and personel are mostly friendly, however ground super (guy who opens dump) is not very friendly. I won't stay long term again, too much aggravation for a hopefully peaceful vacation. Maybe good for a day or two if there is no special event that they hassel you to move. Ask first about special events and IF you can stay in a site for xx days you need. OPEN that dump station and post an armed guard if it's that valuable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
