We were in site #13.This is our 4th visit check out reviews on 8/08, 6/09, and 9/10 for full info. We love this park even though the campground is older. It is a short walk to the springs to cool off and there is peace and quiet here. No alcohol or rude behavior is tolerated. I even saw some loud mouthed kids at the springs get their entire family ejected for loud cursing. This is a very family friendly park where they don't put up with rule breakers! The newest thing they have added is the bear proof trash cans in the campground. We saw a young bear checking every trash can in the picnic area this visit. Park is patrolled often by sheriff deputies. The tubing is great and as a camper you can walk the spring trail after the park closes and see lots of wildlife come out. Our site was HUGE and next to the walkway. Lots of shade and they also sell firewood for campers now. Apopka is close by with many stores if you forget anything. Best value in Central FL in our book. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped in site #8. Very shady with w/e, fire ring/grill combo, picnic table on a concrete slab. Sites are long enough for the longest RV's. We did have a problem with the power going out, but it was rectified quickly with the ranger. This our 3rd time camping here and we still really like this campground. It is quiet, but close to the river where the tubing is. Park is not crowded during the week but does get full on weekends. We saw deer on a hike, turkeys, raccoons, and a bear was sighted in the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Bathhouses were clean all weekend. No alcohol is allowed in park, nor pets. On duty sheriff deputy on site entire time park is open. Very family, group oriented park. No loud music, cursing or fighting going on. Really appreciate that this park is so nice. Springs are very clean and easy to navigate, there are lots of lifeguards available to watch swimmers. Rules are enforced. Park closes in summer at 10 am and re opens at 3 pm for crowd control. Our site was shady as are most. It looks like they might have cut back some vegetation in some of the sites. Beware of the road in and around campground as it does have some low hanging branches but nothing too scary. We saw lots of wildlife: turkeys, raccoons, deer, gigantic grasshoppers, fish, turtles, and a coral snake near our site so don't go off the paths! Campground road is limestone dirt so it did get a little muddy when it rained but we did not notice too much dust. We were able to get many stations on our new digital converter box so TV viewing was ok and clear. we will definitely will be back. Maybe in the winter so we can do some hiking as we haven't had a chance to get to that yet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely Orange County park located across the road from Lake Apopka. There is a boat ramp (free)and playground at the lake and two playgrounds in the main park. Also, a small lake and basketball court in the main park. All sites are shaded by large oak trees, with paved pads, fire rings, tables and lateran poles. The peacocks can be a little noisy buy they are magnificant. The park can be crowded on the weekend, especially during the winter months. Gates locked at 6PM, reservations must be made "in person". We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice little campground. Owners and staff are great. Pool was just resurfaced. Everything is well maintained. We were here for a baseball tournament with two other RV's and they were very accommodating. They even provided a fire pit that was brought to our site and we bought the wood (which they sold us) and kids made smores one night. Definitely will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for 4 nights. Campground elevation is 186 feet. Maneuvering my 40 footer towing a dinghy was no problem. Roads are asphalt, sites are sand/grass mixture, and my site had a concrete patio. Site spacing is OK. My site was a back-in, 30/50 amps. WI-FI and cable are included in daily rate. I was able to receive AT&T Wireless G3/4 Internet & Cellular service. I was not able to receive Dish Network 110/119 Satellite TV from dish on roof of motorhome, but I was with my portable Qube. Campground is pet friendly. Walmart is 6 miles away and Winn-Dixie grocery is 2 miles away. They have many pull through sites with sand/grass patios. There is one major drawback to this otherwise decent campground. The rear of my motorhome was about 300 feet from Highway US-441. This is a 4 lane highway and the speed limit here is 55 mph. The surface is concrete with what we call up North, expansion slots and the wheels go pop-pop with every vehicle that goes by. This is a very busy highway and the noise is continuous. Even at night when traffic is reduced, it is pop-pop-pop all night long. I am a fairly light sleeper who took sleeping pills every night, and I still would wake up when some 18 wheelers or loud cars and motorcycles went by. In fairness, the noise is somewhat reduced in other sections of the campground but still unacceptable to me. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is nice, ongoing work to make it better. My review is for the "Wi-Fi" only. If you want to do more than check email, forget it. Recent "upgrade" to Wi-Fi is evidently defined as "to slow it down below dial up speed." If you are parked at far end of park, good luck getting more than 2 bars, and it drops off repeatedly. Other than that, the place is great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Description of RV park on website is overly-exaggerated. Park does have a security gate - being that it does have a lot of permanent residents. It has about 30 sites that are reserved for temporary visitors. You have to check in at the convenience store located on the campground. Staff is friendly. Store is somewhat rundown. Our site was grassy, and after the rains got very muddy. Cable did not work. The cap on the sewer line was covered in tree and grass debris which leads me to believe that not too many temporary visitors come this way. The comfort station located close to our site was located in a very old building and not very clean. We stayed for 3 days during the 4th of July weekend. The park does have a nice large pool and offered activities for the kids. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have been staying at this park for years since 1974. The park does need some improvements and the management is trying to shape it up. The front gate people do a good job of security. We have not had any problems with theft of anything. Its a nice place to stay for the winter and very reasonable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow, this place is something else. We arrived here looking for a place to stay for the winter. After looking at their website, we thought it would be a nice place to stay. We pulled in and were greeted by a guard at the entrance. We told him we were here to look around and he just let us in. Don't seem very secure. We went to the office and talked to the attendant. She gave us a map of some sites available to look at. We were informed that all of the sites were for sale and if we decided to camp on one, it may get sold and we would have to move. We walked around and started checking out the sites. We quickly noticed that this place is not a campground and is miles away from being a "resort". Every trailer in here looked as if it had been parked there and lived in by permanent residents for many years. They were very cluttered and trashy looking. When we arrived at one of the vacant sites, the neighbor came out to talk to us. He said that the police patrol the area quite heavily (I assume its because of the crime that happens in this place). We were told to watch our belongings very carefully and if we are to leave that it would be best to take our valuables with us in our vehicle. We decided to walk around a bit more and see if we were just on the bad side of the tracks or something. After about 10 minutes of walking around, we didn't feel safe anymore and just decided to get out of there. All of the facilities were old and in desperate need of repair and updating. The showers and restrooms were gross and smelled like a sewer. There are many many other places to stay in Florida. Look them over before staying here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great park in suburban Orlando that is loved to death. Facilities are good considering location so close to Disney, Kennedy Space Center, and other attractions. CG is a mile from the spring so no day use people around. Shady sites with good distance between neighbors though not much screening vegetation. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Site #2 close to clean RR was a shaded site but narrow. Two slides out, awning 1/2 out, touching trees. 30 amp, no 50 amp available. 1/2 mile or so bike ride up and down hills to swimming area. Beautiful large springs, no gators, was lovely and refreshing. No playground in campground which was a drawback for us. Turkeys and deer abound. "7" because it's too far to the swimming pool to make it a quick bike ride in the heat; the narrowish site and no playground. Wish they would move the Campground further in, away from suburbia. Can see houses from campground. They had nice pools. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate shown is Florida senior resident. Our second visit here-no bears this time although the rangers said they were active. Great park, good hiking, plenty to do at the spring-canoe, kayak, swim, picnic, visit the museum. There are volleyball courts and horseshoe pits nearby-we did not check these out. There is a very limited grocery and snack shop attached to the museum. The grounds, roads, and trails were well kept and clean. The spring and areas around the trails were beautiful. We stumbled upon a crew filming a "Trailer" for a book being published about a medieval wizard-all were in period costume with at least one sword. Interesting! All sites are good, just some better than others. Next time we will try to get one on the outside of the circles, preferably 46 to 53. Sites 31 to 60 offer slightly more privacy between campsites due to trees and brush, but there are no bad sites here-most are large. TV and cell phone reception was very good. We got 40+ channels with a standard rooftop antenna. If you go, definitely take the time to walk the "Wet to dry" boardwalk trail {1/4 mile} just over the bridge. We had no trouble with a standard wheelchair. There are 26 miles of trails for hikers, bikers and horses with restrictions on some trails. We camped here in a Motorhome.
