We stayed here 2 nights and were pleased by the roominess and natural surroundings. Even though it is a large park, there were enough trees and open spaces where it almost felt like a state or national park campground but with great amenities. The activities director is great - you could tell she tried to have things for everyone. We joined a bus trip to the Hard Rock Casino. The pool and hot tub were clean and nice, also. For our dog, there were plenty of spaces and "doggy stations" with bags, etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Large park with paved roads and a mix of hard surface and gravel sites. They have WiFi available for $3 day. Verizon and MiFi work great. The pool and club house are nice and the showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. It's close to manatee habitat and right on a canal with their own boat ramp if you are into fishing. Generally a pretty quiet place. The space we got into was a bit tight to get into but the long time residents here had kind of expanded to take over the sites on either side of us with some stuff so we weren't right on top of one another. All and all an OK place that I'd stay at again if we were in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Passport America. Nice RV park - lots of space, most sites are backin. Sites range from waterfront to wooded; and full cement pads to just plain ground. Waterfront sites seemed to be all taken for year rounders, but there's a decent boat ramp and storage for RVers with boats. We were advised that the grounds around our rig might flood if there were heavy rains, (we grabbed a full cement pad to avoid any potential problem). Laundry seemed nice, bathrooms were standard, but not convenient to tent sites. Pool, hot tub, and kiddie pool were nice. They provide a buffet breakfast for a fee on weekends. Our biggest complaint is not something the campground can generally do something about - but the biting insects were severe - no-see-ums and chiggers love new blood (me more-so than spouse's). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nights Stayed – 2 Park Overall – We arrived late our 1st night, so we were only there one full day. There are canal and lake sites as well as off water sites. The park has well maintained paved roads. All sites are cement with cement patios. Many park residents were there long term or permanent. The sites are close but ample. There is a coin laundry. RV Type Used - 5th Wheel 28 Ft, one slide. My Site (54) – Is on the canal, if you have a boat you could tie it to the provided dock, The RV parking area and the patio are cement and 1st class. The site is level. Bath house is a 1 minute walk. Small but adequate side. Restroom –Very clean, heated, hand soap and towels. Bath – Very clean, heated Cell Service - Verizon worked, 3+ bars - 3G at lease Internet Access – NA – We connected via Verizon Hotspot on our phone. Satellite TV – Did not connect DTV. The parks’ cable is adequate for a 66 year old. Basic Shopping – Town is about 4 miles away, everything you need. Would I Return – Yes, I like the park and the area looks interesting. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for two nights through our TT membership as a waystop to our actual destination. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty and quality of the grounds and the friendliness of the staff. Very pleasant RV spots surrounded by trees, green grass and ponds/canal. Residents are a combination of short-stay and long-stay RVers who were all very friendly. We intend to come back for a longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park. They have improved the cable TV. We have never experienced any problems. However the no see-ums will carry you away if you don't use bug spray. Also they allow fire pits for those who like to have a fire. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Without electricity since 07/16/11 sat a.m. Horrendous flooding problems on west side of park and no real concern by regional management. Offers no refund and must move to another resort tomorrow because no electric in site and mud hole around management home. Would not recommend this park or any Encore Resort that has no concern for clients. No site cleanup by staff, palm fronds and sticks and leaf litter contribute to plugged storm drains resulting in flooding. I've been here since April and planned on another year, not now, moving tomorrow. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent park! We had a canal site. Nice paved site. Canal access with a dock right on the site. Tennis courts, shuffle board courts, breakfast at the rec-room on weekends for $5. Ice cream shop, my favorite. This is definitely the best park we have stayed at, and we will be back. Only downer was the county imposed a burn ban, so no campfire. WiFi $$$. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were first time RVers with a new Class C Motorhome and came over from Orlando to try it out. Had read pretty good reviews about this place but we didn't find much "good" about it. They stuck us in a site near the sewer line and it was difficult to sit outside because of smell. Cable TV barely worked with a lot of snowy channels. Had to pay for Wi-Fi - and it was very slow, and non-existent one day. We were here only three nights and it was apparent that the office staff could care less about short-timers. We did request a fire-ring which was installed in a few hours. Office staff not friendly and almost sarcastic when we asked questions. We spoke with several long term-er who said they were happy here, but we didn't get the same feeling at all. They were having some type of Mardi Gras dinner thing in the clubhouse and we asked a staff member if it was too late to buy a ticket ($6.00) and we were told bluntly "yes". I felt like if they wanted us to be welcome, we should have been given the opportunity to partake in the dinner. We won't be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

By-pass this one. Everything about it is suspect. 4 hours of internet; cable TV only has 2 or 3 stations that are not full of snow and unwatchable; the tacked on a "resort fee" that they didn't quote over the phone. Our first site had no cable TV, no Wi-Fi reception, but there was a tiny picnic table that was falling apart. By the time we found out we had to move, the office staff was gone for the night, at 4 PM!!! We moved to a second site without help from the park staff, that was next to the Wi-Fi modem and still had limited cable and internet. Both sites were not level even though they were concrete. They seem to cater to long termer and really don't get many one nighters. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped at this campground on our way home back to Texas for 2 nights. It had very low water pressure and was hard to even wash dishes. The cable TV did not work either. You have only 4 hours of free internet then you have to pay of it. They charged us $80.00 for the first night which was a Monday night (go figure) and $40.00 for the following night. The camp site was not clean . Even though people were suppose to pick up after their pet, I saw know sign of this. Dog waste everywhere, I was afraid to walk in what little grass there was. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a month. The park was clean, restrooms and clubhouse nicely furnished and clean. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There were renovations going on that caused power outages and water shutoffs for several days. The manager was very accommodating and comped us for the aggravation. The only complaint I have (if one) is their activities are geared for seniors and we were traveling with kids so they were bored when the weather was bad. But that was a minor thing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have camped for 2 weeks with a group of 9 other rigs at this campground for the past 4 years. I paid for my site a year ago. This year I was moved to a site that I could not get into without wading through a foot of water. The restrooms and showers were closed for renovations. I asked for a site I could get in or for a refund. They said I could come back next summer. I parked on the road and left the next day for a nearby campground on the water that was not flooded. All of our group left. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Good: sewer hook-up on-site, quiet campers even in an overcrowded park, ice cream available on site until 10 p.m. Bad: shower facility closed (not temporarily) leaving one shower for 250 sites. Our site was far away from the only one available and it was raining with too many puddles to walk there. No way possible to drive there due to incredible overcrowding. So many vehicles, boats, golf carts, etc that someone had to move their truck for us to even get into our spot. Bigger rigs than ours (21 foot) should stay away. The overcrowding is a real safety issue. We would not return unless there was no other choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed for a long weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Grounds are clean and well kept. Pool is large and was not crowded. Staff was friendly and allowed us a late check out because we did not want to leave! Beach 4 miles west. Boat rental 4 miles east. Be sure to request a shady site if you want one. This RV park is situated about 4 1/2 miles from town and 4 1/2 miles from the gulf. Sites need to have cement pads (very few have them). Biting bugs and alligators so no swimming in river but the pool is very nice. There's an ice cream stand on site so you can get that hot fudge sundae. The roads are narrow. There are lots of trees. It is great for walking and riding your bike. There is no daily trash pickup at site and no escort to your site. We stayed here for a week. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this park to be more favorable than the reviews suggest. The pool was great, we had a lake Front site and great views. The roads are narrow and need repaving. Passport America accepted and staff were quite helpful when we were there. Will stay there again and take our boat. Good boat ramp for smaller boats on Canal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a campground not a resort. They have a pool, basketball, horseshoes, tennis courts and many other amenities. Several sites did flood when it rained. The main thing this park lacks is customer service. Some staff members are flat out rude. The roads need repair, trees need to be trimmed, and other misc. repair. It is not a new park. It is an older park that has added a few spaces in an attempt to accommodate larger rigs. We made our reservations online for our 39' 5th wheel. Upon arrival we were assigned to a space that was not large enough but they were able to move us to a more appropriate space for our rig. I would not stay here again. There is a new Elite park right down the road with helpful staff and better facilities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Do NOT camp here! The management and some staff are very unpleasant. Very hostile & difficult to deal with. The campground is in great disrepair. Narrow roads, broken concrete pads, trees are great (except when they scrape the roof and sides of your RV, or you can't get your slides open) swampy sites, lots of bugs. It does not accommodate the bigger RVs that are on the road today. Having experienced numerous RV parks as we full time, we are left shocked at what we just experienced. This park is great. All the staff are very helpful. We have two children aged nine and seven and they love this park. There is so much for them to do. We would highly recommend this resort to families. We are returning next week for the Easter weekend as we enjoyed the Halloween weekend so much. The site is very well managed and clean. The on-site store is a bit sparse but it does carry the essentials. Overall a great home away from home. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has signs of "deferred maintenance" however there were repairmen present during our stay. None of the problems with late night partying that we noticed. It is true that the manager travels back and forth between here and Daytona. He and his wife have the reputation of fixing "problem" parks and considering the progress they have made at the Encore Ormond Beach facility, we feel that they will do a good job here. They do go out of their way to make people feel welcome. We will most likely camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is poorly maintained. Roads are in disrepair. Activities were great for kids on halloween weekend. The only plus. Security was non existent. When I asked who was security for night, I was shocked at what I saw. Party went on with "security" in charge. Air horns at 4 am so "security" could have fun. For an Encore, this was a big dissapointment. This park really is a joke. For the price, go down south to some great rv resorts. On other respects, the wi-fi was good at our site, bathrooms were clean, but backed up overnight and were not unplugged until morning. I was told "security" knew, but did nothing. Added plus was breakfast on Saturday. Left early Sunday for a real rv resort. We won't be back. I was told by a resident the manager leaves each weekend for Daytona. Cops every weekend. Can't blame him, this place is a zoo. This is my last stay at any Encore park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed 4 nights at the Passport American rate. It was a bargain. Full price might not be such a good deal ($38). Everyone was friendly. The Saturday/Sunday breakfast in the rec room was nice. The roads could use some re-work, but the sites were very large and deep. My 40ft motorhome fit nicely and had room to park my full sized truck at the side. I had no problems levelling even though the site was grass. Good location if you are a fisher person. Other parks might be better if you are not a member of Passport America. Wi-Fi worked well, but is a pay service. Cable TV was OK, but we supplemented with Satellite TV. We would/will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here before but this time was not a good experience. Regular price $40.-- I don't think so. Passport price is more like it. I needed 4" of lumber under one side of the camper to level up. I had about 4 ft. to the back corner of a motor home in the rear. If the adjoining site had been rented they may have hit my awning. The ice cream stand is always a pleasure and the staff very helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here a couple of times and love the river sites. They are open, have small concrete pads, fire pits and back onto the river each with it's own dock. The staff have been really friendly when we were there and very efficient. We purchased a bundle of firewood and within 10 minutes it was delivered to our site. The only downside is that Wi-Fi is not free. The entire park is well maintained and even though the roads are narrow we could easily negotiate them with our 40 foot rig. I do know that some of the back sites under the big trees could be more of a challenge to get in and out of. We loved the ice cream stand. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Despite earlier reports on this forum, we found the office staff and the management extremely helpful and easy to please. The wifi doesn't work in all parts of the park, but the game room has 2 modem hookups. The pool area was spotless and well maintained. The "new" manager was out and about and introduced himself to campers. He was very receptive to constructive comments from us. The seasonal campers were cordial and very welcoming to us. This campground is adequate but suited mostly for seasonal campers who stay a month or more. It is very crowded during high season (winter). We were given a site that had oak trees overhead and along the side, and it was extremely difficult to maneuver our 40-foot motor home into the site. It was also difficult to get out of the site and out of the campground along the narrow, crowded roads. For obvious reasons (economic) the better sites are reserved for the seasonal campers. It would be great if they set aside some sites for the weekend campers at the front of the camprground near the highway, and improved those sites, making it easier for the 2 to 4 day guests to get in and out. The campground is very clean, and the staff are reasonably helpful, though not overly friendly. If you stay there, take a drive past the campground to the beach at the mouth of Crystal River, which is a beautiful place to watch a sunset. Note: there is a charge for WI-FI, and there are only 18 cable channels. Many sites are shaded, so satellite is difficult to obtain. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We went down for a long weekend in January to swim with the manatees and do some other stuff. This was a very good location for doing everything. We were the only popups (us and another couple) but we felt welcome. The grounds are nice, bathrooms clean and staff helpful. We were also on the younger side of the clientelle there, but again, no problem. Everyone was nice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Employees were friendly. Most sites were spacious and well-kept. There were lots of rigs there for the winter season, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. There were activities galore--even free golf lessons from a PGA Professional. Heated pool was open 24 hours. Hot tub was outside and open 24 hours, too. Bathrooms were usually spotless. Food service was available a couple of times a week. There were pontoon boat and kayak rentals available. Every night RVers get together in the clubhouse and play games and welcome newcomers. There are computer modem lines available in the clubhouse and in the laundry--which, by the way, is very nice and clean. We talked to many campers who said they would return as will we. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is just a really a nice park. If you are looking for glitz, go somewhere else. But, if you are looking for big, gorgeous sites under hundred year old mossy oak trees, come here. The sites in our side of the park are large with concrete patios and tables, and easily accessible sewage and electric. The staff runs around in golf carts to ensure safety and park compliance, but they don't feel intrusive. The lake is beautiful and is full of fish. The staff is helpful and friendly, and you'll probably want to come back year after year. The location is very good as well. It is 35 minutes from Cedar Key, a short distance to gorgeous Rainbow Springs and Homosassa, and both Tampa and Orlando within 75 miles. This campsite is not near major roads, so the tradeoff is you have to go a little out of the way (about 5 miles maybe). It's pristine and quiet. Laundry is fine and bathrooms always clean. The pool is warm and very clean as well. It's heated. I'd recommend this RV park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were surprised at the number of high ratings for this park - it was just okay - the grounds and facilities are tired and in need of updating, the staff in the office were not friendly, although the work campers and residents/other campers were very friendly. Sites were not well organized - easy to get into and big, but the sewer connections were practically in your neighbor's site, thus their connection in your site. Verizon 3G worked well; they offer TengoNet ($5/day) for WiFi, but we didn't use it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We went to the Lake Rousseau RV park on a getaway weekend and could not have chosen a better spot. It is a lovely park with great big trees and plenty of shade, a lake with only slow moving boats. (No loud motors.) Has some of the nicest people we have ever met!! It is family operated and they really know the meaning of southern hospitality. The whole place is so clean and nice; we can't wait to go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We gathered here for a family reunion and it was wonderful. It is a family owned and operated park and you can sure tell. They are proud of their park and pay attention to the details. The clubhouse is so pleasant, the whole facility is clean as whistle, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. There is a beautiful lake view, there are big shade trees, and there are activities, too. We had such a good time, we will come back on our own and do some fishing, which looks to be a great opportunity. There is a store and a bait shop, a swimming pool, and a nice place to walk. We sat in a swing and looked at the lake; it was wonderful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has mostly permanent or seasonal sites, extensions built on RVs or park models with porches, etc. We had a "water view" site, but the water was on our off door side, so we couldn't see the water unless we walked around our RV and the others parked closer to the water. It was a challenge to back in to site due to other RVs and vehicles. We had to back up so close to another rig that we could have watched each other cook dinner! Site are gravel & grass. We felt the rate of $37/night is high for what you get. We probably will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Fabulous water views and great fishing for panfish like bluegill and crappie, and especially the bass, which we saw in the 8-10 lb. range. They have a boat ramp, slips, fishing dock, and swimming pool. Most sites are shaded by big oak trees in Spanish moss, very Old Florida in a beautiful natural setting. We had one of the premium spots down near the water for a little extra. The place is owned and operated by an extremely nice family with great Southern hospitality, and the staff really goes out of their way to help make your stay the best it can be. Everyone we met there was really agreeable and helpful, an excellent experience. The park facilities including restrooms and clubhouse etc. were very clean and attractively decorated, with lots of extra touches. They have a full service bait shop and store with conveniences and basic items you might need for camping. There are manatee sightseeing and swimming tours in the town nearby, and a clear spring fed river for tubing and canoeing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here for 8 nights while my mother recovered from recent cancer treatment. I picked this campground because I was looking for someplace quiet, shady, and that had that "old Florida" feel because this trip was my mother's first time in the state of Florida. This campground met all of those requirements and then some. The staff gave us site 75 which had a magnificent view of Lake Rousseau which all three of us enjoyed (me, my mom, and my sister who flew down from Delaware). There are HUGE live oak trees with masses of Spanish moss hanging from the branches that adds to the picturesque nature of the campground. We didn't fish but enjoyed watching the fishermen launch their boats at the boat launch not more than a hundred feet away from our site. We all three enjoyed our stay and hated to leave. The only thing I could find to complain about would be the design of the sites on our side of the loop. It would have been great to pull into the spot rather than back in so as to take better advantage of the lake view while sitting outside. But that is such a minor thing. Also, while we were there, Mother Nature decided to make life interesting with HOARDS of midges which are harmless flying insects that resemble mosquitoes. They covered everything and were more of an annoyance than anything else but if you're going to camp in Florida you had better get used to the bugs. I also liked the fact that the campground allows campers to wash their rigs on their site. I wish every campground would do the same to prevent the mildewy roofs and walls of the long-term campers I've seen in other parks that really detract from the surroundings. There is a local man who will come to your site and wash your rig for you at a reasonable price. Check with the office for his number. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a campground--not a RV resort. No fancy slabs. But when we were there, most of the people were friendly. One office worker has very bad manners. Although, the park owner was a wonderful lady. Most campers were friendly. Down side is park opened their doors to traveling workers for power plant. Some were nice, others were very undesirable. Several other parks in area, but each has distinct classifications. Pool was nice, fishing good. We would not choose to camp in Crystal River again. After visiting two other parks in the area, we were both surprised and glad to get a site at Lake Rousseau. Everyone is very friendly and everything is neat and clean. It is a really great park with lots to do both at the park and in the area. The fishing is among the best in Florida and the park residents and staff are willing to share information on where to fish and what to use. There is some activity most every day or night such as Bingo, cards, one stroke painting, with weekly activities from dances to dinners and the celebration of most holidays. We stayed about 2-1/2 months last season and will stay 4 months this season. Can't give a better recommendation than that! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We are brand new to RV camping. We were pleasantly surprised at how great an experience it was for our first time. When we arrived and were deciding on which lot to choose the park Manager was very friendly and understanding of our "newness" to camping, and helped us set up. We camped next to a couple who are permanent, and quite pleasant to visit with. The grounds were kept nice, and all the people we met, were very friendly. We joined them for a "potluck" dinner Saturday evening. We stayed over the weekend and the park appeared to be full. Other camping neighbors were very nice. The views by the Lake were great, and the fishing dock and the small boat rentals were a surprise which we'll look forward to next time. We enjoyed the church service Sunday morning. It was a quiet, and peaceful place to get away to. We will definitely be back, as soon as there's space available. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We spent two weeks here in March. It was the end of the snowbird season and many folks were winding down their season. The CG is geared toward long term guests and the social calendar was loaded with things to do. I don't think I've ever stayed at a CG where the people were so friendly. I'm talking about the guests as well as the management and staff. We were made to feel a part of everything from day one. From Saturday morning breakfasts to twice weekly bingo it was like one big family. A beautiful park with all new utilities, cable TV and the best WiFi I've ever used. We stayed here for a week over the Thanksgiving weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are a few sites up front that are very close to the water, they face the lake. They have a boat marina and boats for rent, apparently the bass and panfish fishing is pretty good here, unfortunately the weather was too cold for us to go out on a boat. We had a very nice large site, and most sites including ours had large shade trees. The management, workers and campers were all extremely friendly, and they had many activities organized for the season. There is a store with many essential items, fishing tackle, and live bait available as well as a good laundry, swimming pool and clubhouse. One small problem is that the well water was inconsistently colored. Sometimes it was totally clear and other times a slight brackish color. There were families with children parked all around us and they seemed to have a great time too. I would highly recommend this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The fellow campers were very nice and friendly, site was nice. We asked about things for the kids to do before we went, they had nothing. We had to leave the site daily to keep kids occupied. Well, our friends talked us into coming back to this park because they thought we got the wrong impression. We didn't. The management still didn't care about renters, and I watched one guy screaming at a dog owner. The review before mine I was told was written by a friend of his so you decide. Concrete pads were level, I tested the water quality, and it was still good but discolored. Many of the snowbirds had left, and it is still a quiet park. As the management covers up for bad owners I would not believe anything they said or promised. I have told everyone I know about this park in order to protect my RV friends. 2 out of 2 times it has been scary. I am all for fairness and wanted to give this park a second chance. If you like to be lied to and assaulted this is the park for you. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here looking for a place to possibly buy into. I had read the previous reviews and were leery about staying here, but so glad we decided to do it anyway. This is a great campground. We saw the notorious grouchy guy's site and he has a clearly marked sign saying No Dogs, so I don't see the problem with keeping my dogs off his site. We walked by with our dogs, and had no problem. Common sense to me! The "season" was winding down the week we were there, but they still had activities everyday up until the day we left. The people were extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome. The only reason we rated this an 8 and not a 10 was the distance we had to go for grocery stores and things to do. It's not horrible, about 10 min. but not really handy if you need something last minute, and there is no camp store on site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground has nice interior roads, level concrete sites, good power, good water pressure, but we had a problem with brown water. We were not alerted to the terrible sediment in the water and it caused us to go through 3 filters in a matter of weeks. The park is adequate but not really a resort. Workout equipment was in need of repair. Wi-FI was limited at best while on your site. Hwy 19 road noise was loud but not intolerable. This is an owner's park and we were treated very well with one exception that was terrifying. *ALERT!* While we were here, my wife was verbally assaulted by the owner of site 237. She was walking our dog at the edge of his property and he came out of his RV and started screaming at her to get her dog off his property and not come back. She thought he was going to kick our dog or hit her. I informed the manager and he told me he was aware of the problem as he had several complaints about this guy. He asked me to write a complaint letter. I did and brought it to him and sent a copy to the Crystal River Sheriff's Dept. When I brought the letter to the manager, the President of the Board was there and read the letter and had a smirk on his face after he read it. I discovered that he has done this to several other women walking their dogs and one women that was walking her cat! The manager never confronted the owner of site 237 about the complaints and the new President of the Board denied any knowledge of any complaint. The manager told me the same guy told another renter that there was a petition to not allow renters that work at the power plant. I guess this park feels it is funny to have the owner of site 237 act in this manner because they have done nothing to discourage it. The same guy drove by me in his golf cart and screamed, "Are you leaving yet?" This person is rude at best and the park management does not appear to be concerned. This could be a nice park but the bad attitudes by the site owner and management makes it unappealing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV Park is run by the individual owners of the sites. Some owners want to rent their sites and some owners do not want any renters in the park and take any opportunity to be rude to the renters. I was attacked in the laundry for trying to use a machine that no one was using. They say "hi" as you walk by and then attack you for anything. Some owners take up two sites with boats, vehicles, bikes, golf carts, motor bikes, truck campers, and etc. They tell you the park has Wi-Fi, but you don’t. We had to go to the office very early or late night and then it would take forever to log on at 1 mbps. We will never go back. There are a lot of angry owners in that place. The owners stick together when personal attacks are vented toward renters. We were very uncomfortable. We stayed here from December 2009 through February 2010. The park provides LP gas and has a laundry room on site. All sites are full hookup and concrete pads. There's very little, to no privacy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay in this park. We also wondered if some prior writers had really stayed in the right park. We found very nice people and the activities were plenty if we wanted to participate in them. The site was clean and the people in the office seemed like they just wanted to be efficient. All the roads were paved and the grounds were landscaped in accordance with the Nature Coast part of the state. It was nice to be next door to access to the Gulf of Mexico for fishing and boating, two important things! Properties were kept very nicely. We enjoyed it very much, although the Wi-Fi was not as good during the day when, I guess, more people were on it. The people, regardless of whether they were owners or other renters, were very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasant surprise, as well as a bargain, especially inseason in Florida. I write few reviews but feel it is needed in this case. The park itself is OK. The sites are good size and have concrete slabs. Lots of trees that have acorns and your rig gets covered in leaves everyday. Facilities are adequate but nothing that I would consider a resort. One building didn't even have heat. Workout equipment was in need of repair. Very few activities even though they say they have activity directors (misnamed as they are just a couple that asks if someone wants to do something). Owners were very rude and if you questioned anything you were put down and made unwelcome. Managers seemed nice. Water had good pressure but was, at times, brown. Seem to be pet friendly but everyone knew about the jerk that was mentioned in another review, but no one did anything about it. We were told not to walk down his street. Easy on and off the highway but that also caused terrible traffic noise. Some kind of bugs bit you everytime you went outside. Good interior roads. We stayed a month and will not come back. We would not recommend or buy in this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second year staying at Nature Coast Landings. It is a wonderful park, and I don't understand the previous negative reviews. Everyone is very friendly, and there are so many activities to participate in if you choose. It is an owner park, but a lot of the people staying here are renters. We stayed at the camp ground for 3 months as we have done for the last four years. The reason we keep on coming back to this area is because we enjoy the atmosphere in the campground and have always found the people pleasant, helpful, good neighbors, and easy to get along with. We had a dog until last year when due to health problems we had to send him to doggy heaven. The people who both live and rent at the site were extremely nice and full of condolences for our loss. The site is made up of mainly owners who either stay on their property for some time or rent out to snowbirds like ourselves. We have stayed at other campgrounds in Florida and all over the Eastern seaboard and have not found anywhere that can better this site to date. The sites themselves are concrete pads with natural brush and trees around to provide shade and beauty. Each site is maintained by the owners and of course with the way people view things differently there are always differences. That is just human nature. Wherever one lives there is always going to be a difference of opinion but that is life. We will be back again next year to visit our friends and acquaintances at Nature Coast Landing RV Resort and will always recommend the site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The two reviews before me are right on. Quiet park and it is an owners park. Facilities are average at best. Nice concrete pads though. There was one real jerk. I was walking my dog on the road and my dog walked on the front of his lot and the owner came running out telling me to get my dog off his grass. He was pointing his finger and screaming and looked like he was going to kick my dog so I pulled my dog up and carried him away. He kept yelling we don't want renters in this park I am an owner and I'll get you kicked out. What a jerk. I asked some of the others we met in the park and they said he was a jerk and the management was told about him but the board would not do anything about it. This is a co-op park and from what I can find out the board hates renters so they enjoy the guy yelling at people so he scares them from coming back. Some of the owners were very arrogant. How do you get to be arrogant in a park that has mostly old beat up RVs in it. Renters are not welcome in this park. It is one big owners club. We left because we were scared. This park is managed by a rude group of people. It is loaded with full timers who turn their nose up at anyone who steps outside their RV. After asking the manager to change our site I was called profane names and ejected from the park. Many of the residents commented on the parks' managements inability to get along with one another. Actually this was our second visit to the park as we recently purchased a new motorhome. The park has recently been turned over from the developer to the residents, as the park is now resident owned. We were "renters" on these visits. The park is very nice, some shade, enclosed pool area, too cold in Feb. The park is about 9 miles north of Crystal River, which has an array of outdoor activities, hiking trails, kayaks, parks, etc., which we truly enjoy. The park itself is very near the Croo Florida Barge Canal and has a 9 mile trail which leads to the Gulf and is a great walk or bike ride. My only negative is the road noise from US 19, so if that is a concern check the site map upon booking. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful ownership park located in northern Crystal River. The sites are wide, long and clean. Lawn maintenance is excellent. Laundry, shower, pool all clean and well maintained. Wi-Fi is good with improvements being made. Excellent connection in clubhouse. A new clubhouse was built while we were there. We stayed here six months and may return and purchase a site. A safe, quiet park for long term or while exploring the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Immaculate RV park well situated in between the towns of Crystal River and Dunnellon. The staff are extremely efficient and professional and a credit to the business. The park is beautifully maintained and has a great club room, recreation room, games area, fire pit, heated pool, and mini gym. The staff and the campers here have been amongst the most friendly and welcoming I have experienced. I did have a little trouble with the free Wi-Fi at my site for 3 days but could easily get a signal at the office or Club Room. On the 4th day the Wi-Fi at my site became easily available so the park then became faultless. I will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older park with same owners for 20 years that is unusually clean and well kept. Two nice rec halls: one with fire place the other air conditioned. Immaculate heated pool, shuffle board, horseshoes and laundry. The staff is very friendly and helpful and keeps this park spotless. Even in a very heavy downpour, no flooding or standing water on roads or sites. Nice level sites about split between shaded and open. Pretty booked in winter, so phone/email ahead for reservations then but worth it! Will make a point of returning. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park reminds me of a state park with lots more amenities. Some may not like all the trees/shrubs/undergrowth between sites, but it does provide a certain level of privacy. We actually stayed here twice during our recent trip because we felt comfortable here and even reserved for a much longer stay next year. Some sites are more shaded than others, but there is a nice variety available. In addition, the park apparently allows guest to dress up their individual sites giving the place more character than cookie-cutter parks. The cable TV offering was extensive. The check-in staff was excellent even though they were quite busy both times we checked in. There are plenty of activities for those than want them and the heated pool area was busy even during cooler weather. The area surrounding the park is less crowded with less traffic than other areas of Florida further south, but it still offers a nice variety for those looking for fishing, kayaking, biking, etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We booked for 1 week and liked it so much stayed a 2nd. Sites are from mostly open to having lots of vegetation. Roomy sites, sidewise and lengthwise. We stayed here for 10 days in February. This RV park has comfortable sites, though not all are level and even. They are preserving the natural trees and shade in doing so. Sites are laid out in a different numbering fashion - a bit confusing to a first-time visitor. Security gate and pass code is a welcome item. Improvements are being made (new entrance area, directional arrows and signs repainted) since last year. Nice covered pool, community room, and many scheduled activities, including groups who meet to go biking, fishing, or kayaking. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites have a nice distance from each other and the staff is friendly. The only con about this place is the sandy lots and no pull through sites for big rigs. This is a heavily wooded RV Park with lot's of old growth Oak trees and Palmetto Palms, which can present a little problem backing into a site on occasion. Large campground with many longer term seasonal visitors in large motorhomes and fifth wheels. Vegetation separating sites is not well pruned and can make access to sites difficult. We spent a month at Rock Crusher and enjoyed our stay. The park is very much like some state parks in that there is little landscaping around the sites unless campers are doing it themselves but the sites are nicely spaced with some privacy in-between -- better than any other private park we've ever used. Trash dumpsters are few and far between and sometimes get overly full before being picked up. They really could use more laundry facilities for the size of the park. We found it easier and more convenient to use a laundromat about 4 miles away. The office and the people staying here are very friendly! We met a lot of very nice folks who offered all kinds of information on the area as most of them have been returning to Rock Crusher for months at a time for many years. There are organized kayaking trips, bicycle outings, bingo in the club house, a variety of craft groups, poker, golf, water aerobics in the pool, and regular social potlucks and lunches/dinners. The Crystal River area offers a lot to see and do, especially if you also visit Homosassa and Inverness. We might return here when we get to the point when we no longer enjoy moving from state park to state park during our 4 months as snow birds. Rock Crusher has an excellent reputation and we weren't disappointed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects passport america rate for 3 nights. This is a great park with very large sites, wooded with tons of shade. If a parking lot with hook ups is your thing, don't come here. If friendly people of all age groups, and a great staff is what you want, than this is your place. We had a breaker out in our power hook up, and we told the office, and it was fixed in 15 minutes by a friendly and smartly dressed maintenance staff person. Typically we stay away from private parks because of the tight spots and over charges. However, this place is like a state park with state park prices. We camped on site 12. It was paved with bricks and well shaded.They only have 50 amp hookups but you can get 50 to 30 amp converter from the front office with a refundable fee. We enjoyed the park and would highly recommend it to others. Originally we tried to book rainbow river state park but they were booked and therefore we ended up here. Needless to say, after seeing rainbow river and then staying in this place I'm glad we did. Next time we go to rainbow river again for tubing we will stay at rock crusher canyon again. Lots of bugs, but its Florida. just bring fans and bug spray to control them. Horrible cell data coverage. Tried to use my cellphone hotspot but was only getting .3mb to 1.5 mb transfer rate mostly in the .5 area. We all had Att but it appears that most carriers will be affected as well after talking to a few people. Pros: Family friendly Large lots well maintained pool area , playground and clubhouse. Friendly staff and people. Good location near entertainment,shopping,food,etc. Full hookups with no issues or electrical issues. A couple of areas to improve on: Wi-Fi available and useful in the clubhouse ,however on our site it was unreachable. Supposedly a new company is being brought in to address the WIFI issue. Most sites are not paved, but the roads are. Could use a few more bath houses and dumpsters to strategically shorten walking distance. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 5 times since 2009 and always have been pleased. I cannot say the same this visit. Maintenance crew mowing sites with constant lawn mower noise all day. Had site at bottom of upper level and witnessed permanent residents driving by at 30 mph plus, work trucks , commercial vehicles etc. But the biggest issue: mosquitos, mosquitos, and more mosquitos. We visited this park for a quiet weekend getaway, it was perfect for this. Being summertime the park was not at all busy, maybe 20% occupied or so. It has more of a state park feel than a resort which we like. The roads are paved while most sites are not. With almost 400 sites this is a big campground. Seems to us the sites would offer something for everyone. Some are very secluded and shady while others are open and sunny. The foliage is mostly oak trees so it is not a tropical setting like you may find further south in FL. Pool and hot tub were great as were rest rooms. This park is busy during the winter and offers a lot of activities that time of year. Selecting a site on the eastern side will put you further from the road noise which is not bad anyway. We will stay here again especially since they honor Passport America. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice destination park when visiting this area. The park has many long term residents and some have really developed their lots into show places. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The laundry is reasonable - 1.50 for both wash and dry and only one dry cycle needed. Nice pool and clubhouse area. Lots of activities offered. Horseshoes and shuffle board were put to good use. Very dog friendly and people are courteous to clean up after their pets. Great area for kayaking and the manatee were visiting the area. Will stay here again if in the area. This RV park has gravel and sand sites. Utilities were newer but somewhat awkwardly located (sewer far away from other hookups). The whole park has many tall trees for shade. Sites are mostly level and roomy. Sites are numbered with area signs but each one has its number painted on the road at its entrance. The clubhouse had a screened swimming pool and offered activities. There is a key-card front gate for extra security. Late arrivals would have to call gate security to be let in. There was also a picnic and play area and a smaller dog run. The park is away from busy roads, yet 2-3 miles away from most businesses. We stayed here in mid-January and decided to return for 3 more days when heading back north. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Dirt and grass sites were slightly unlevel. Hook-ups were problematic for us. The sewer was in the front of the site and the electrical and water were in the rear; probably 20'-25' between these two utilities so bring your long hoses. They only have 50amp but will loan you a converter for a $25 refundable deposit. Our site was shady but some sites had no trees at all. Beautiful pool and spa. Decent laundry room. Not family friendly. If you are traveling with your kids (of any age), this is not the RV campground for you. We visit Rock Crusher Canyon with 3-4 families every year for Thanksgiving for the last 5 years. We will never return!. The kids in our party range from 4-29. Two years ago new management took over Rock Crusher Canyon and it has gone down hill since. They have separate rules for live-in's versus visitors. Too many rules for the kids. One of the kids in our group was yelled at by a live-in for riding his bike "too fast"! Unless you are a live-in or retired (65+),don't waste your time and money. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This place really is a "Top Rated" RV park, and it is well designed in a natural setting. Every single spacious site has an assortment of palms, shrubs, and trees. There is plenty of privacy, and the sites are spread-out across 80 lush vegetative acres. It is the first RV park in Florida we have been to with a hill. There is a magnificent large size pool, heated, for lap swimming. The Wi-fi here is the best we have encountered. There is an established network for Wi-fi in the park for each site. The provided cable TV is excellent with 98 channels. Most sites are solid grass and are back-ins. We had one of the pull-throughs and a secluded site. Had the site pads been paved we would have rated the place a ten. We used the place as our base camp for exploring Crystal River. We will not hesitate to return to this beautiful RV park at the Passport America rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Passport America rate. Everyone needs to try this place. It is especially great for boaters. True it is not on the water, but several ramps are just minutes any. They also let you keep your boat at your site. We had 29' camper and 22' boat with two vehicles, and there was plenty of room. Now not all the sites are this big, but most sites are very roomy, with lots of shade. Great covered pool, with hot tub. You can also have a fire if you bring one the raised pits. This campground is outstanding. Rate reflects PA rate. Wish they extended PA rate for more than just 3 nights. Sites are plenty long enough to hold any size RV or travel trailer. Pool was good, not too crowded, hot tub was hot. Playground for kids has swings, slide, tire swing, baby swings. Only has 50 amp service anything less must have a adaptor or they will give you to use but if you forget to return it will cost you $25. No open fires due to burn ban. No fire rings above ground either. THis was a sad thing for our kids but we managed to do marshmellows over the outdoor stove. Bike riding is adventurous as lots of hills, some you can not even make it all the way on bike. They do rent golf carts but I do not see the need for them as you have everything in your camper to accommodate your needs. In town was not much to do than the wildlife state park, which we found was awesome, our kids enjoyed it. We will stay here again but only to the limit of PA rate. Ask for a shaded site as that helps your AC run not so much. We were on site 285: sat on pavers and was very level and partial shade. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here five nights as part of a group for Thanksgiving weekend. This was really a nice RV park, well kept up, clean and the only complaint was the internet access from our site was terrible, even outside the RV. The connection kept going on and off and every time requires a new page to log into. I know you are supposed to have fun camping but this was a weekend I needed to stay in touch with family far away. This park came highly recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. There is a variety of shady and sunny sites, over 300 in all. Most sites are long and narrow and can easily accommodate large rigs. The pool, hot tub, clubhouse and washrooms are new and maintained in spotless condition. There are three laundry areas, each having three washer/dryer combination's. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This park is popular for snowbirds and locals alike and it has lots of activities in the winter. This area of Florida is a hotspot for no-see-ums but Rock Crusher, being several miles from the Gulf, seems to escape them at least in November. Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is about 20 minutes away and has an excellent display of manatees and many other animals. There are a number of reasonably-priced golf courses in the area. We noticed that there are several permanent residents in the park. Perhaps a sign of the times. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We've been looking for a park like this for several years. Has no park models, BIG sites with lots of trees, wonderful amenities, and lots of friendly campers. It's along Florida's "Nature Coast," so you have to drive a ways to get to a beach, but the scenery and wildlife in the area more than makes up for that. You can still have a campfire in this park. Both Crystal River and Homosassa Springs are great communities, offering all the necessities of life in a small town atmosphere. We have already reserved for next winter. "Family style" bathrooms, and they were always immaculately clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here several times when it was Rock Crusher and enjoyed it greatly because it was spacious and quiet. Now it is full to capacity "deeded ownership" park. Level earth sites. Very nice poolhouse though undersized for the hundreds of full sites. Good location in Crystal River with many trees. A big community, no park models but a number of year-rounders with their possessions around their units. Close to town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were very impressed! Park has large, private sites, lots of vacancies too. Contrary to some other posts, our Wi-Fi works well. Just a few minutes into town where we found grocery stores and lots of the normal chain restaurants. The rates are all inclusive and seem very fair. We will sure return if we come back to the area. Elite filed for bankruptcy and this campground is now run by the former owners. This is a great place which we have visited several times. Has paved roads with sand/gravel sites, and lots of treed and open areas. The staff is very friendly. There is a designated area for washing vehicles (cars, trucks, RV's). Has fairly good spacing between sites. One of the hosts leads you to the site and provides assistance, if needed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We got a great site and had an excellent time. I think this is the best campground in the area. Sites are shady, well spaced out. Very modern clubhouse, hot tub, and enclosed pool. No Bugs. I found the other campers to be very friendly. The area is loaded with biking, kayaking and hiking. Local downtown area is like in the old days. This was an Elite Resort but Early in March 2010 Elite left. The park went back to Rock Crusher Canyon. We will come back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

While camped here for Jan, Feb, & March 2010. Elite Resorts was removed (by court order) as owners. The park is now Rock Crusher RV Park. The original owners are back. It's the best park in the area. Elite removed quite a bit of the equipment in the park. Including a pool heater, the Wi-Fi System including the poles. It was not a friendly departure. The Rock Crushers have restored the park. I will come back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very clean park with lots of trees and some hills. It's an old quarry with scars of its use in the past. The sites are mostly large with natural grass instead of the typical pads. The utilities are located at the very rear of most sites, making for a long reach with your hoses and electrical. Wi-fi usually worked but was dead a few mornings. The staff is very friendly and the park is close to stores, but about 7 miles to the gulf. Overall it's a very nice place for the money: I would return! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America rate before taxes. PA is limited to 3 nights and not accepted in the winter months. Plenty of empty sites which lent it a roomy feel. As stated, it is in a wooded area, but some sites are on top of each other. Overall it is a great value with PA for 50 amp, water, sewer, CATV and Wi-Fi. This is our favorite campground for several reasons. We enjoy the wooded campsites, the friendliness of the staff, the clean, enclosed pool and hot tub with pool table, ping pong; kids playground, horseshoes, shuffleboard; the immaculate condition of the entire campground, quiet and secluded location, yet only a 10-minute drive to either Crystal River or Homosassa with shopping and great dining. Great walking throughout the campground and pet friendly with a small dog run area. One thing they could definitely improve is the size of the dog run area, we have a large dog! I realize most RV'rs travel with small dogs. Even on holiday weekends when many sites are full, this is still a great place for a weekend get-away. We enjoy the tranquility and peace and quiet of this campground when the snowbirds are away. We have yet to be disappointed and we visit it at least two weekends a month! We have stayed at this park about 5 times. I am reviewing again as it has changed hands and changed names. We have noticed some changes to the park with the new owners, but pretty minor. The staff was very nice. We got tickets for a free lunch on Sat July 4th put on by the staff (mainly workampers) and a free ice cream from a camper/vendor onsite. The campground itself is just the same with very large wooded sites with full hookups. They are now trying to sell the sites ($39,900) and I suspect with the economy like it is, they won’t sell too many. About 150 of the 400 sites were taken on this Holiday weekend. They have full hookups and all the amenities including a huge pool and hot tub. We live about 90 minutes away and awe will continue to come back. Great spots to visit close by. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most of the comments on this park are fair. It is more like a state park than an "Elite Resort" but it is clean and the spaces are roomy and nicely separated. The one contact with staff was friendly. This is not peak season so the park was not crowded at all. It does seem family oriented and very affordable so I'm sure it is very busy during the peak season. WiFi was good most of the time though for some reason, we had trouble sending emails even though it appeared that we were connected. Cable TV service was lacking. Was unable to get many of the channels the second night. Probably some kind of technical difficulty. We've stayed in much nicer but all in all, this park was OK for the two night stay that we were there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first time staying at this park and we really liked it. We have 2 kids, ages 9 and 13 and there was plenty to do such as, free pool table, ping pong and shuffle board. The screened in pool was a nice size and was very clean. The staff and management were very friendly and helpful. We happened to mention to a staff member on check in what we liked to do and she pulled out the significant brochures/pamphlets and had them delivered to our site. We had one of the paved sites and it was very spacious and clean. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground has wonderfully spacious sites and it feels more like a state park than a commercial campground. Dirt sites detract from the general appearance. The campground has the amenities including a lovely clubhouse and screened pool, but it lacks in service. General irritants were: we stayed two weeks and one day and they charged me the one day rate instead of prorating it as other campgrounds do; there is no security at night and our neighbors' illegal campfire was ignored, as was the loud music, shouting and bad language until midnight most evenings; shuffleboard equipment was not returned by the same neighbor and the staff didn't bother to get it. Wi-Fi very spotty with many disconnects. Just generally a lack of service. Considering the campground was half empty at a normally peak time I think they could have tried harder. We will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were lucky enough to get one of the paved sites, which was plenty long for our 40-ft. motor home and tow. The CG was only 1/4 full. Great walking with all the paved roads and many acres. Stayed for 3 days in May 2008. Lot's of shaded parking, but if in a big rig, some low branches could be a problem so be careful. Recommend a trip in the golf cart to preview your assigned lot. Only a few pull-throughs, but plenty of nice back-ins. We liked this place. Not many campers here this time of year so we fely as if we were all alone. Very friendly staff, and clean facilities. Pool was perfect, hot tub worked great, but I think it falls a little short of a "resort." All spaces are hard packed dirt. Be sure and visit Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park . We stayed here in March of '08 and it's a lovely park with very large sites, strong Wi-Fi and clean restrooms/showers. That said, not only have the rates gone up significantly, but we were told that to reserve a site for a month in '09, we'd have to pay in full at the time of the reservation, would not be guaranteed a specific site, and would under *no* circumstances be given a refund if we had to cancel (even for a death in the family, serious illness, or an accident on the way there) no matter how far ahead the cancellation occurred. I have to say it takes some nerve to institute such a restrictive policy and then not even guarantee you a particular site. Hopefully, they will see how much this is hurting their business and change the policy to a more rational (not to mention customer-friendly) one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were here for a full month. Nice park, the only problem is some road noise from Rock Crusher and Crystal Oaks roads - but that is gone by about 10 pm. They are trying to sell lots, not sure they are having a lot of success. Did see that the monthly rates for next year are going up over $100. Too bad as that will probably put it beyond our budget for next year. Only negative is the lack of really good restaurants in the area. Most are mediocre which is sad because of the abundance of fresh seafood, etc. People are not overly friendly - a lot of groups of people who have been coming together for years and it appears outsiders are wanted. Luckily we do a lot of other things so it doesn't matter to us. Also a few really tacky units around, but that is not unexpected. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a nice campground, but time will tell what Elite does with it. Some of their other properties are not so good. Pool was cold every day; thought it was just us, but when snowbirds are saying it is cold then you know it's not you! Last night there spa was broken and would be down until the next day. That reminds me, they were to have a campfire on Thursday night, well that didn't happen. We had wifi at our site, but I guess some did not. Friendly campers, but for those that have been here year after year were not happy with new owners. The reservation policy stinks, if you come here or make plans and something happens that you have to leave or can't come they will not refund you. Ice machine and soda machines only thing sold in campground, no store or supplies. Seems they are more concerned with getting your money than making sure you enjoy your stay. If you want to buy land then find a mobile home park. Cabins are for people that love to camp, and don't want to buy an RV or park model trailers. We camp for the outdoors, mother nature and quiet time with friends and fellow campers. Glad I was able to see this park before it is CRUSHED. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rockcrusher was a really nice park before elite resorts got ahold of it. Elite resorts has reduced the amenities, treated the campers with little or no respect, and has let the place go by not cutting the lawns during the summer months and reducing maintenance to a bare minimum. Living at Rockcrusher for many winters was nice, it was nice to go back to and see your old rv "family" year after year. But the changes and the way that elite resorts does business and treats it's guests, we will not go back there. Under the rockcrusher ownership it was a great "hidden secret" among campers, but with the new ownership demanding payment for the next year's stay in full, with no refunds and no exceptions, the increase of 3 and six month rates, (from 435 to 750 a month, now reduced to i believe approx 500 a month, partly due to the economy and the fuel crisis), and the reduction of all the amenities like trash pickup, mail station, bathhouse hours, diminished street lighting, and not having a pool or hot tub for almost 2 months in the 2007-2008 season. I have found new places to spend my hard earned dollars, as well as a couple of hundred of other prior rockcrusher winter regulars that we have seen year after year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. We were here for 3 months. Our first time in this park. Huge sites with lots of privacy, not easy to find in Florida! People here don't like change, but we are seeing Elite trying very hard to make much needed improvements. Unlike many, we prefer State campgrounds, choosing more space over amenities. The 3 nights we spent here were comfortable, facilities were pristine, although insufficient washers/driers & space in the laundry was a problem. Operators and those in residence were cordial. A number of the regulars were not happy about the recent ownership change - particularly the escalation of fees and emphasis on ownership,which sounded very expensive (50K for a site that could only be occupied 1/2 time - and with a monthly fee around $85 according to what we heard) We too found a lapse in updated info. The sheet we were given on check-in contained outdated info on garbage pickup (discontinued), and the Ted Williams Museum, which closed 2 years ago and was move to Tropicana Field. Overall it was still a good place to stay despite being priced more like places closer to the coast. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is now called Elite Resorts Crystal River. It is not an Encore park (as suggested by another poster) but it has been sold and the lots are for sale. We arrived 12 days after Elite took over and there was still some confusion but, overall, it still seems well run (in some ways, better than before). The Rig washing site is gone, the lake area is no longer accessible, the sign is gone, there's no available propane, and they will be using a different entrance. They are upgrading the WiFi and are putting in a number of towers. We're camped next to one and, though it was down for about three days, we now have WiFi that's faster than my high-speed broadband at home. Prices are up and they no longer offer any discounts, but the sites are still very large and attractive, the park activities are more plentiful than ever, and the park is still a fairly good bargain for this part of the country. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Unfortunatly for all concerned this great park has been taken over by ENCORE. The prices have gone from $17 for perimeter sites to all for $40. They no longer honor any club discounts even though the GOOD SAM sign is still hanging. They no longer have site pick-up for garbage and no longer give the free newspaper. They want you to purchase sites for $49,900.00. There are no improvements in the park,so why raise the price to $40. I feel this is a disservice to the local campers. Just be aware. This is an excellent place to camp. The park is in the process of reviving the live concerts they were once known for. The sites are grass and, for the most part, level. All electric is 50amp but they have 30 amp cables available in the office. Some minor problems in the park when it rains, but a far cry from giving them a poor review. There are no problems with management or staff members. Will definitely camp here again when we return to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rv park was very clean and kept up really well. The visit was relaxing to us. There were two problems that we had. The electric had went out and the man that came to fix it, fixed it and was very professional about it. The other problem we had was the office staff. The lady at the ranger station was very mean and very rude. Someone needs to take her to customer service class. Also we tried talking to the rv manager and she wasn't very helpful. She looked at us like we didn't know what we were talking about and she didn't know what was going on in her own park. This is the only reason why we gave the rating we did. Other than that ONE reason on the office staff, the park was great. Great views and well kept up. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was extremely clean and well managed. The heated pool and hot tub were wonderful. The laundry facilities were clean and well priced. We were able to have a great time with my nieces and nephews and plenty of activities to keep them busy. The lots were private and quiet. I'll second what others have said and add that the spaces here are gigantic. I actually was able to hook up my toad by pulling the rig forward a little and driving the toad around to the back--In a back-in site!! For the price, this is one of the best campground deals we have encountered. The only negative I found was a weak WiFi signal. I had to take my laptop out and balance it on the utility post to get a decent signal. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For those saying it is the best ever, they haven't camped in New England. It is, however the best of all we saw in FL. Staff is friendly? The Ranger Station staff need a pot or two of coffee first I guess. Laundry rooms need change machines. You can only get change from the Ranger Station, hopefully she will help you out. The sites are nice, private & roomy. Pool was warm, kids loved spending the holidays out of New England weather and in their heated pool. Caution, if the snowbirds are having their water aerobics, you have to wait. Thankfully my boys are patient -- one solid hour they sat & waited. We did receive a flyer on our rig, asking if we wanted to various activities and it invited us to the weekly activities meeting. I think the snowbirds are doing this on their own, it didn't appear to be CG organized. We missed our typical night time campfires at our sites. They have these community pits but who wants to schlep kindling and wood all over? There is a grocery store 3 miles away, not 15 miles as previously noted, and its not a new one. Nearby do not miss Homasassa Springs Wildlife Park, Rainbow RIver boat cruises, Withlacochee River, we drove to Orlando for dinner one night & to Kennedy Space Center too. Be sure to swim at Rainbow Springs Headsprings in Dunnellon. Overall a nice place, but there is not much to compare to. Oh, the lake is gross & there are gators there. There is a huge sign posted. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park, sites are large & very private, however, the rudeness of the reservation staff leaves you with a bad impression. The restrooms, laundry areas & Club House are always clean. The Club House is too small to cater to a large group & they've had problems with the plastic chairs that they use. Wi-Fi is very poor. They need more antennaes to accommodate the number of sites. The only place that reception is good is in the Club House. The park doesn't offer planned activities. Activities were organized & planned by the campers. It is rumored that the park is for sale so that may explain the attitude of the staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here on Memorial Day weekend. There were not that many facilities to accommodate that size of a park. The grounds were kept up very nice but the staff was extremely rude. The following is why they did not get a higher rating. When contacting them by phone and then actually talking with them when we checked in, there was one lady in particular that was and still is downright mean and acts as if you are wasting her time. We expected to be able to swim in the lake but were greeted with a "Beware of Alligator" sign when we got there. It would have been nice to have had that information before choosing the campground. We stayed in this park for a month. They advertized wi-fi available in sites 1 - 66. We were in site 44 and were never able to get on the internet using their WI-FI. We heard that they had the equipment to upgrade but hadn't gotten around to installing it. The laundries consist of 3 washers 4 dryers in each bathhouse. There were two bathhouses, plus 1 laundry facility in the clubhouse. One bathhouse was missing a washer, so that put it down to 8 total washers for a campground with almost 400 sites. No change machines in the laundries, so had to get change from the office when they were open. Sometimes they were low on change. The swimming pool/hot tub area was nice. Also, nice big screen TV in the club house. The sites are large, but there are no cement pads at all, so we were always bringing in dirt. The sites are grass and dirt. When it was damp in the morning from dew we always managed to track in lots of dirt and weeds into our unit. We weren't overly happy with the attitude of the staff at the park. But, the activities director did try to do a good job of keeping some activities going for the snowbirds. The biggest problem with the park is that based on their advertising we were expecting a better park. They advertise that the bike trail is close by, but in reality it is about 1/2 hour drive to get to it. The park is great for weekend or short stays, but if you're a snowbird looking for somewhere to stay, I would suggest looking elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

What a great park! There is a site here that will suit everyone. There are shaded sites and there are sunny sites and everything in between. There are three levels to the park and all are naturally landscaped. The sites are as large as I have seen any where. There is 50 amp power, cable tv, and phone service available to your site. This is the third year that we have stayed here for two weeks. This is one of the cleanest parks that we have stayed in, the showers, bath and sites are pretty much spotless and they have on site trash pickup daily. It's basically an adult park as other than the pool there is very little for kids to do. The sites are good size and level with all hook ups on one post, most have a lot of trees but still enough openings to get your satellite dish out. Cell phone signals are very low and we noticed most people standing outside their unit to use them. They also advertise WiFi, unless you are in a certain area of the park (high rent district) you will have trouble getting a signal, again a lot of people walking around with their laptops trying to get a signal. The clubhouse is a smaller one and is often rented out which means it's closed to the campers, it has a nice exercise & weight room, kitchen and large screen TV. This is the first year that the spa and pool have been heated enough for us to use. Walking around the park we noticed a few FEMA trailers but only one looked a little trashy the rest were very clean and well maintained for being there over a year. The park only has 50 amp service so if you use 30 amp and are going to be here more then a week buy an adapter before you come, they rent them ($2.50 a day) but you would be better off buying one and then you have it if you need it later. If you are a GoodSam member then you can get one of the outer perimeter sites for $17.00 + taxes. A nice quiet adult park to relax in with all the shopping and store you would need near by. (Five years of full timing) We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful campground! The sites are large, shaded and seperated by a wooded area for privacy. There is a pool, spa, and a lake for fishing. These however are the only amenities that this campground offers. We stayed Thursday through Sunday and there were no weekend shows, dinners or anything as other posts had stated. As posted before, there are still no further activity for kids. The clubhouse has a kitchen area, TV, and dining room table. They had rented it out for a birthday party, so we felt a little uncomfortable sitting around. There are no games in the clubhouse, or activities for the kids. There is no store at the campground and the closest grocery store is about 15 miles away. The ampitheater only runs during certain seasons and it was closed while we were here. It along with the lake are actually located just outside the campground, same property but you have to leave the campground to get to them, which is a very long walk. There are no grills or firepits on the sites. There are a few community, or first come first serve firepits throughout the campground. We also had to rent one of their 50 amp adaptors as we lost power at about 3:00 am in the middle of July with the a/c going out. Ugh! It is a very relaxing campground. We visited some of surrounding springs and between that, the pool, fishing poles and bikes my kids had a great time and we relaxed. So we will return!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park is very wooded and clean. The sites were huge and most appeared to be seperated from each other with a thick wooded area. There were picnic tables at every site. There were no grills or fire pits at the sites. There are a couple of "community" or first come first serve firepits. You can't really see the theater, it is just outside the entrance of the CG as well as is the lake, so we drove or rode bikes to the lake. The other posts were correct in that there are not a lot of kid activities, actually there are no activities other than the pool and the lake. There is a clubhouse with a gym but there is nothing in the clubhouse except a TV and kitchen area with a dining room table. Thankfully, my kids are happy with a pool and bikes, plus we visited a few of the beautiful springs in the area. The CG is out of the way and nice and quiet. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

After reading all the good reviews on this campground, I was expecting alot more. Received the Good Sam membership rate after joining when making reservations. I got my temporary membership card at check in, but haven't received any information or my real card from Good Sam . Its been six months. Makes me wonder where my money ended up. The first night it rained hard and I woke up to find our camper surrounded by water. We ended up staying two extra days because there was no way we could pull our trailer out without getting everything stuck. The office help was rude and unsympathetic. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our first long (more than a weekend) stay in an RV park. What a great first experience! The park was beautiful, with good sized, shaded, lots-you didn't feel as you were on top of your neighbor . The facilities were immaculate; clean showers/baths, beautiful pool/jacuzzi area, nice laundry room. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. This park is also incredibly pet friendly. We stayed there with 4 dogs and there were no problems, and we were welcomed. Even though there were some long-term seasonals there, every site was clean and well maintained. We can't wait to go back! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was one of the nicest RV parks we have ever seen. Very friendly. We have been twice
(3 days and later 4 days). We will be back. Easy to navigate and lots of privacy. Seems to be very new. About 3 or 4 miles to town and about 10 miles to
gulf beaches. No junky trailers. Have weight room, big screen TV, social activities. Only problem was I didn't want to leave. Good Sam rates. Reservations
needed in winter I would think. Pool area and hot tub were first class. It is 70 miles from my home and worth the trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Rock Crusher on several ocassions and have never been disappointed. It is clean, friendly and has lots of places to explore around the campground. They have golf carts to rent, great places to ride bikes and their level sites are indeed level. Their sites are not paved because they don't need to be as they are on stablilized natural pads. We have been there even during a rain storm and not only were there no puddles around our coach but it stayed level. On their website, click on "Check out this review" and visit our website. We were thrilled when they asked if they could link to us. And we are in no way affiliated with them nor do we even get a discount of any kind. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Okay for a short time. No paved sites, and "stabilized" sites they advertise are dirt and grass. Pull thru sites (they have only four) are not really pull thorough in the sense you can leave your toad attached. Rustic camping place. Good for overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have four kids ranging in age from 4 to 16. Not really "kid friendly," at least for the older age group. Enclosed pool and spa was nice but recreation center could use more "entertainment" for the younger age group. Spacious sites were easy to maneuver into, especially since we recently changed from a motorhome to a fifth wheel and are just learning to back it up. Lake area could use some clean up. Otherwise beautiful area. Would stay again but probably for husband and myself only. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This may be the nicest park we have ever visited. The sites are large, level, shaded, and
grassy (we don't like cold slabs of concrete). More importantly, there is a ton of room between sites and most have extensive privacy bushes, some even with mini-forests between sites. Many sites back up to the woods, which gives the entire place a very rustic and natural feeling. Definitely stay on the separate level on top of the hill (hills are a big novelty in Florida) because it is much more secluded and quiet. The lake and music festival area (located next to the campground but within the overall Rock Crusher Canyon property) have beautiful rock cliffs at least 100 feet high (artificial from quarry days - no such thing exists naturally in Florida). They should invest some money to fill around the lakeside to minimize the mud, maybe install some picnic benches with a nice playset there, and definitely stop trying to pass it off as a beach. The clubhouse is very clean with a heated pool, exercise room, and so-so playset for the kids. The bathrooms were very clean and pleasantly configured with individual private rooms containing a sink, toilet, and shower (rather than dormitory-style with toilets and showers lined up in a row). Location is very convenient near must-see Homosassa Spring State Park, short drive to Ocala horse country and Silver Springs, and not too bad for Busch Gardens or even Disney. For our taste, this park may even be nicer than Fort Wilderness! The staff was very friendly, though a bit stretched and in need of extra help. There were also a few unsightly broken-down vehicles and one mobile home near the festival area, but that was outside the campground area and you'd have to go looking for them. Overall, this park deserves the high ratings that it gets from the guide books. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Just left this CG and we will be back! Sometimes a little quiet in summer, but well kept,
very clean, occasional entertainment, check website for calendar of events. Great sites, great clubhouse. Not everyone needs activities 24/7, infact that
is what sets this campground apart from the others. Know one is making your schedule for you all the time. A great place to relax. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. The sites are large and very private. There are no planned
activities, this may be a drawback to some. The staff is very friendly, but they respect your privacy. They deliver a newspaper to your site every morning, and pick up your trash at your site. The bath houses are different from most. Each is a shower, toilet, sink in one room. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the 3rd year of operation for this CG. Everything is very clean and well kept. They even blow the leaves off the roads within the park. All the roads are paved. Garbage is picked up every day and, at least during the winter season, a newspaper is delivered to your site on the weekends (no charge). The only thing they don't have is an "activities director", so for those who need someone to guide them through the day, this might be a negative. For us it was no problem. We found all the employees and the camp hosts (workampers) to be very friendly and helpful. There is a
show of some kind just about every weekend and also several bigger name acts throughout the season. The park is an easy drive to either Orlando and Tampa. Crystal River itself is a more quiet area with a couple of nice local beaches, lots of restaurants and stores. A really great CG. Too bad they aren't all like this one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful campground but for anyone here for an extended stay there are no activities. The workers here do not seem to care and only seem to cater to the rallies and to people here for the shows. Don't seem to care if you stay long term or not and make absolutely no attempt to have any type of organized activities. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is really worth the drive. Campsites are spacious and level. Clubhouse is clean and the TV room is very comfortable, not to mention the kitchen. Pool is completely screened in as is the hot tubs. We had no bugs and we were there in August. It rained but the sites never flooded or got mushy. Restrooms were clean and very modern. Can't wait to go again. We camped here in a camper.

Beautiful, spacious modern RV resort. Very large sites, some beautifully shaded. Excellent, brand new clubhouse and pool (under lanai). All sites are level and hard packed, plenty of room for privacy between rigs. A bit out of the way, but worth it if you want peace and quiet and a spacious, shaded site. Staff was new, not very knowledgeable. No staff on site at night, no security gates. Large entertainment (outdoor) center next door. We will return. We camped here in a camper.

Has separate entertainment series starting Sept 1 (I think) with Lee Greenwood in a natural arena. Has special camping packages. Also on Friday and Saturday nights has dinner show with excellent food. Cash bar opens at 5, dinner at 6, and show from 7 till 10 with family entertainment. We camped here in a camper.
