This campground has management problems. I was told to get out of the pool at 3 pm. Shower house was closed before dark. Nothing was in order or ran smoothly. Don't go here. It need snew management and cleaning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy in and out. Very close to I-75. Rate is before any discounts and before tax. $2 extra charge for electric. Many permanent residents but many places for overnighters. Pool is clean as well as restrooms. We were given our choice of several sites. Office personnel were very friendly. Our electric box did not work, but we just plugged into the one at the next site. Sewer is there, but in many cases is hard to find as the connection site is overgrown. Would go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I drove through and I would not recommend. Most of the 240 sites were take. There were many deserted RVs and mobile homes with windows & doors broken out to indicate they were uninhabitable. It was not a very nice place to be. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is good for an overnight stop. It is close to I-75. There are a Waffle House and Denny's next to the park entrance. Many sites are occupied by seasonal residents. This is a Passport America park, but the discount is only available May 1 until November 1. We would stay here again for an overnight. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I arrived at about 1:30 PM. There was a note on the office door saying "Back in 5 minutes." About 35 minutes later, someone showed up to check me in. The park is little better than parking in a field, shows little up-keep, and mostly long-term residents in low end units. Except for hook-ups, a Wal-Mart parking lot would be superior. We have stayed in this park several times for up to 2 weeks. This park looks a little run down, but it has a great atmosphere, and I always feel welcome. I love this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an "okay" campground for an overnight stay. It's in a rough neighborhood. The sites are grass, level and large, accommodating our 35 footer well. A real bargain with a Passport discount. We would not make this a destination park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a destination park but a great overnight. Passport America M-F is $16.00 for huge pull through, with full hookups and Wi-Fi. Would recommend taking exit 354 to approach the park entrance from the east for a right hand turn into the park instead of exit 352 off of I-75 as suggested on the web site, which is a left hand diagonal turn. With heavy traffic it can be a challenge for a long rig but is doable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Our check in was pleasant and we were led to our grassy site. It was level and long enough not to unhook with a 37'. The perimeter road is paved, but everything else is packed sand. The feel is more campground than resort, and there is a variety of shady and sunny sites. Directions were provided for groceries and shopping. The price was with Good Sam discount, taxes, and a $2 daily electric charge. Restrooms were worn but clean. A fan covered the I-75 road noise, and overall the park was very quiet. Verizon, cable, and Wi-Fi worked well. The only thing preventing us from an overnight return is the cost. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were hauled our trailer from Canada Oct. 2011 and stayed for 5 weeks. We liked the park so much we left our trailer their in storage as we returned home for Christmas. We returned back to the park at the end of January 2012 and are staying until May. We are planning on booking this park again for next year. The staff and owner/operator are extremely friendly and if you need or want something, just ask! Lots of activities going on, including a free weekly basic computer workshop for all levels. Dancing to bands, bingo, cards, billiards, and more will occupy your time. Daily group walks are arranged to keep you in shape. There is no problem with noisy dogs and there are quite welcomed and have their own bath and running area. The rec center is the place to be as each day of the week something is happening. Outside you are 10 minutes away from shopper's paradise, just ask my wife. I have found many rivers and lakes to kayak and hike. As for the Wi-Fi, I take several online video courses and have found the Internet fast and reliable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

An urban campground right next to I-75 so there was some traffic noise, but it was pretty minimal considering. They offer Good Sam, AARP and Military discounts (including retired Military.) Convenient (1.5 miles) to grocery, restaurants, WalMart. Picturesque campground with lots of trees dripping with Spanish moss, a stream with ducks, and a pond. Despite the trees, navigation was easy, and we got excellent satellite reception. BEST WiFi (free) of any campground we've ever stayed in. Many seasonal campers, but campground was very clean and well maintained. Roads and sites are not paved but are smooth and easy to drive, at least in dry weather. Sites vary from very small and narrow to very large (ours was large.) Very friendly staff. Good place to stay in Ocala and definitely recommended. 9 Instead of 10 because the sand patio areas caused us to track a lot of dirt into the RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was clean. The sites are all grass, and the staff was nice. We had a problem with the cable and someone came and fixed it within moments of our call. The wi-fi is iffy and did not work for us. We stayed for one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They advertised a hot tub and after we booked a months rent we found out that it was broken and they were not going to fix it. We chose this park for the hot tub because I recently had knee replacement surgery. They refused to refund any of our payment because of their "no refund policy", which evidently Florida law allows them to do even when misrepresentation is blatant. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Lovely shaded sites, lots of space, beautiful trees, pond with ducks, fenced area where dogs can play off-leash, friendly staff. Sites distant from I-75 are quieter. Wi-Fi was good at our site. $37 is Good Sam rate. We stayed 3 nites. PPA rate good only 1 night. Driving access to/from I-75 requires some sharp turns, narrow street, and high traffic next to a Sam's store. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park, but needs some updating. People were working in the restrooms painting and repairing. Campground is located in a very congested area and close to I-75. Traffic noise was very evident. Would stay again, but only for one or two nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

High price for the park. Good access for on and off interstate. Good for a one night stay if traveling. Had many snow birds. It was quite even with interstate across the street. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Had a wonderful time at this park. It is close to restaurants, shopping and major routes in all directions. Quiet and shaded, it has lots of activities. Enjoyed the neighbors from all over the country. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third year using this campground for a month or more in the winter. Campground has been cleaned up a lot, the 2 or 3 lived-in rigs that never moved, are gone. Very neat and clean. Rate is the monthly rate, plus electricity added in. Close to everything in Ocala and convenient to I-75. Easy in and out. Only point loss was for older washers and dryers, at least 3 were out of order all month. Fix that and it would be perfect for me. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will be back. This is our third time staying here. It has recently changed owners and they have made changes. The hot tub is under repair (indefinitely), the game room is gone, and they charge extra for electric. Still a nice park (formerly a KOA), and we were treated professionally and courteously. Very convenient to "civilization." We might come back again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I was going to rate this park a 8 or 9. We came in late and they had a spot ready for us. The Wi-Fi and cable was good, and the park was very quiet. However, in the morning I went in to settle the bill after I'd been told on the phone the day before that they would give me the Passport America rate. There was a sign on the road saying they charged $29. Inside it said the rate was $36 year around. They charged me $29.81, saying it was half off the "rack rate" of $45.95, plus $3 for cable and $2 for electricity. I feel very strongly that this is false advertising. Be careful when dealing with this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice people. Laundry room had limited hours. Sites were overgrown with grass and were VERY difficult to make out after dark. Ground was uneven and full of stones. Easy to mis-step in the dark. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The signs for the entry road to this campground were a little hard to see, but it is pretty close to the exit off of I-75. We stayed here overnight on a road trip. The sites were level and grass/sand. The park itself was quiet, but there is the hum of road noise from I-75, so the person checking us in gave us a spot as far from the freeway as possible. This is a pretty park that appeared to be well maintained. We were not able to access Wi-Fi from our site, but there may be a "hot spot" area where Wi-Fi can be accessed. There was cell phone coverage for AT&T and Verizon and cable service was provided. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites were comfortable, clean and roomy. Some of the staff members were rude and confused on pricing. We would stay here again just for the site size. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here as an overnight stay on the way to Tallahassee. Very easy on/off from the highway. Since we had not planned on stopping, we did not have a reservation. The voicemail message on the campground line was very helpful. It let you know that they did have vacancies. We checked in after hours, but the hosts must have been nearby and saw us pull in. They led us to an available site and said we could just register and pay in the morning. They were pleasant and helpful! Our site was toward the front of the campground so there was some highway noise, but not enough to disturb us. If highway noise bothers you, I would suggest getting a spot further back in the campground. There were plenty of sites with all types of campers from pop-ups to Prevosts. This campground is pet-friendly, has many trees. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wi-Fi in our slot worked very well. Secondary roads need little work, and it's not an easy turn off the main road once you exit the interstate, the area has built up since this RV campground was first built, including some hotels and restaurants and gas stations that you must navigate to get to the campground. The CG used to be a KOA and I can remember staying here years ago when it was. It is still nice, if you don't mind the sharp turns to get there to spend the night or even longer. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A cash only facility. The site we parked was huge: by far the longest and widest site I have ever stayed at. It was at least 80 ft long. Would stay here again! FYI: Upon leaving the facility, one wants to turn left toward the interstate. However, the median is in the way. Need to drive a block in the opposite direction and do a turn-around at the mall. Not a big deal, just thought I would let people know. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came in during Hurricane Ida: it was dark and pouring rain. The owner/manager came to our aide: helped us set up for the night and then returned with hoagies and chips from an earlier event. That was definitely a Godsend! The campground was very clean and the workers were pleasant and friendly. There is an activity nightly for anyone that wants to attend. My family and I are looking forward to having Thanksgiving with the other campers. We will return again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed overnight and were greeted and checked in with a pleasant and efficient manner. An escort led us to our site and made sure we were settled in. He emphasized that he was available if we needed anything. Even stopped by later to tell us there was a potluck supper being held. When we got ready to leave, we discovered that our slide-outs wouldn't retract. I went to the office to see about RV service in the area and was told that they would look at the problem. They were successful with manually retracted them so we could get on the road. We offered to pay them. They refused and suggested we contribute to the Camper's Activity Fund, which we did. We enjoyed our stay and are extremely grateful for the assistance we received. We will certainly visit again if we are in the area and will highly recommend this park to others. We were very impressed with the courtesy of the employees there. We arrived later in the evening and someone was immediately there to help us locate a site and lead us to it, and help us hook up. We would stay there anytime we were in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I cannot recommend this RV Park. Unless they get experienced managers and new owners who are willing to spend the money to repair and update as needed. My husband & I relocated to Ocala Florida. We stayed in Ocala RV Camp Resort for two months because it was close to my husbands work. At first the park seemed OK. They have a pool, sauna, Wi-Fi (we found out later that half the time the Wi-Fi does not work). They have a laundry, but half the washers are broken. And if the machine your using breaks they do not refund your money. The owners lack of contributing funds to Ocala RV Camp Resort is most evident in Management. The management is very unprofessional and lacks people skills as well as problem solving abilities. We experienced foul language, immaturity and a general lack of knowledge on how to successfully run a campground that people would want to come back to. The manager drives around in his Golf Card with a chip on his shoulder. He doesn't acknowledge you or make you feel welcome in any way. I will say the camp workers are wonderful. They are the main reason we stayed as long as we did. Ocala RV Camp Resort also has a security problem. While we were there, on more than one occasion someone has come into the park at night and was knocking on camper doors begging for money. There have also been camper break-in's while people were asleep in their beds. There is no gate securing the property at night. So anyone can come into the park. The day we left this park and went to Ocala Sun which is 10 miles down the highway, two other campers left and also went to Ocala Sun. We found a place that truly makes you feel welcome. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Watch out for this campground. It has had three sets of managers in the last year. They are definitely having some issues. There are problems with the electricity all the away around the park. The pool is very clean, the bathrooms are clean and the laundry facilities are clean. There is a lot of work going on with respects to the way the park looks. The grass was cut neatly, and the shrubs have all been trimmed. It is very convenient to almost everything in Ocala. The interstate is very close by, with very little traffic noise. The workkampers are very friendly. They bend over backwards to help you out. Would really like to see this park make some major improvements with the electricity and the roads. If this was all accomplished, it would probably be able to hold up to the RESORT status. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped here for years. It was never the best, but they keep promising to fix things. Mainly the power. After I don't know how many new managers we have left the park. We are also contacting the city and state as to the dangers in the park. The power keeps starting fires in peoples' power boxes. Someone is going to get killed. The bathroom roof caved in and no the ceiling and lights are just hanging. It has been like that for over a month. They say they have a hot tub, but it has been closed by the city and never fixed and reopened. Be wise, STAY AWAY from this park . I was told by the new manager that the owner only puts money into his motels next door. It is too bad as this could be a nice park with some work. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great location right off of the Hwy 75. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed ourselves very much. Lots of activities scheduled daily, friendly staff and campers. Very nice, quiet campground. There is a mixture of age groups. There is an Olympic-sized pool. They also sell propane. There are few ponds with ducks. Lots of shade due to oak, pine and Magnolia trees. Larger sites and lots of grassy patches. The place is close to all shopping. The park also has a store. We looked at their website and chose to stay here. We are very happy. We plan to return for a long term stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped here two nights. Clean park, friendly staff but too near a major highway, so lots of traffic noise. OK for a short stop and re-provision of on board goods. But that's about it. Would stay here again in a pinch, but it would not be our first choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A nice pleasant park with a very friendly staff. The park is clean and fine for single night or longer stays. It is near everything in the Ocala area. The WIFI is really free and worked fine. We are getting tired of finding so may places that advertise WIFI only to find out we have to pay extra for it. They have an RV supply store with a lot of the basic necessities. They are pet friendly and have a fenced large dog run if you want to let your dog get some exercise. With the Passport America discount our rate was excellent. It is near the interstate but the noise was not excessive. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Clean and friendly park with shady sites. Read directions to locate park before you get there or you will drive past the turn off as we did and have to back track through traffic. This is a Passport America park so we were charged $20.00 for our site and $3.00 extra for cable hookup. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we were escorted to our site. Our site was considered a grassy site, but there was not much of that around. Most of the sites were sandy. Cable reception was good, but the Wifi signal was weak. The park was hosting a free hot dog roast the night we arrived which we attended and found everyone to be very friendly. We wouldn't stay here for a long time, but it is a safe park and easily accessible from I75. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice easy in and easy out sites. The only real complaint is that we were quoted Passport America price of $12.48 when we made reservation but when we arrived we had to pay $16.24. Its not a lot but I don't appreciate parks not honoring their quotes. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Used to be KOA, but not anymore. Haven't removed all signs yet. Sites not level. Not kid friendly. Hot tub area dingy. Laundry room unkempt. Lady we registered/paid was friendly but when the other 2 in our party checked in, the person they got was rude and tried to charge them extra because of discount given to us. Careless with mowing/weed eating. Pelted our rig and ran mower over our carpet tearing it up. Refused to repair or compensate for destruction of property. Tried to go back and redo rates from when we checked-in. Sign says $29.99/night. We were here on Passport rate, but once we approached them about carpet they wanted to make us pay $53/night instead. We packed up and left immediately. Will not stay here again nor recommend. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here one night in a 45 footer on the way up north. It's a great overnight stop on 75. The park is clean and easy to get into for a big rig. We paid $21 which is the Passport America rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great for an overnight stay, or weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful upon our arrival. We enjoyed the fact it was close to shopping, and restaurants. We walked around the entire park, and weren't greeted by anyone we saw. We discovered a dog run, and it was nice for our dog. The one side of the campground shares a fence with a mobile home park. There's a auto/RV wash station, which was a pleasant surprise and located appropriately. We did not see the inside of the cabins, but they were very nice looking, with swings on their porches, by the "fishing" pond. The community room, with a fireplace, looked inviting. We will probably pass this one up as a "destination get away" next time, only because we like to get away from the traffic noise. This campground is a good choice for someone passing through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

All staff were very nice and helpful. WiFi was so-so depending on where your site was located. The grounds were grassy, not paved and many of the roads had large pot holes. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had been here before, and thought it was a nice park to stay the night. The price went way up. Ended up taking a 30 amp water and electric for 30 bucks. WiFi didn't work. Maybe they don't have access. We stuck with regular TV because they wanted another 3 dollars for cable. Not impressed this time around. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with friendly staff. We were here Easter weekend and the had a community dinner in the rec hall. Plenty of room with easy access to the sites but the sites are just dirt and grass with large ruts. Very few trees in the park. We were here to attend the Dick Reed school so that occupied most of our time and thoughts. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The roads in the park are falling apart. Chuck holes every where. Lots of dead trees and the owner is not putting any money into it for upkeep. Most of the employees were very friendly, but the manager has an attitude and is often very rude. She has even turned her back on customers that were talking to her. We will not ever stay here again. This is an old KOA park that has been recently taken over by new management. It is a large spread out campground with quite a few buildings and they have their share of not in very good condition RV's that appear to be rather permanent. We were told that improvements were ongoing but it's evident much work needs to be done. The sites are all dirt, sand or a combination of both. They all appeared to be level, but most would benefit from raking and picking up. The wireless system is good as long as you go to the office to use it (they have a computer room there). Out in the park it is not accessable. The staff all appear to be friendly and helpful and most are workcampers. The pool is large and clean and although heated, not very warm. They appear to have some activities. Even though it is next to an interstate,traffic noise was hardly noticed. For as large as it is, it was a very quiet campground. All the facilities were adequate. The reason for the low rating is mostly due to the disparity between the high daily rate, and the present condition of the property. Until further improvements are made, the word "resort" should be removed from the name. It's an ok place for a few days. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The use of RESORT in the name is an abuse of the word.The pool was loaded with people from the local neighborhood and made it un-useable for RESORT guests. That same night the club house was used for an outsider party.There are full time residents with all their tools and business material scattered around the units. Permanents are also moving into the front portion of the park with very large units and no license plates.The cars parked around them would not be capable of towing anything that big.It was a koa and is falling into disrepair.The grass needed attention. The cable system has a large # of channels, staff very friendly,nice tv room/library and has fairly large sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was formerly known as Ocala/Silver Springs KOA and my review is not regarding the park itself, but rather regarding the actions of the park manager. On Easter Sunday my husband and I were beginning our journey back home to Wisconsin. Unfortunately we experienced major problems with our RV within 100 miles of our starting point. We knew that we had to get to the Cummins repair facility in Ocala first thing Monday morning. We had the address for Cummins and believed that this campground was located relatively close to that facility. When we went to the office to sign in, the woman at the desk was very polite and sympathetic to the problems with our rig. We asked for directions to Cummins and she was not real sure, but gave us a map of the area. We had asked for a pull-through site that would accommodate our 40' motor home and tow vehicle. Unfortunately, when we got to the site, we had to unhook our tow vehicle because our rig barely fit on the site! It was certainly not what we would consider a pull-through. Since we had the car disconnected, we decided to see if we could find the Cummins facility. We discovered that it was only about 5 miles from the campground and also discovered that they had electric and water hookups for RVs! We went back to the campground and explained to the woman at the desk what we had discovered and asked if we could possibly get a refund since we had only been at the campground for approximately 1 hour. She again was very sympathetic and thought it would be okay, but said she needed to check with her manager. She called the manager over a walkie-talkie, so we heard both ends of the conversation. The manager was extremely rude in her reply stating, "Do you see the note posted on the front desk that states 'absolutely no refunds? Well that's what it means: absolutely no refunds!" The woman behind the desk had no idea the sign was there and was very embarrassed and apologized to us. We told her it was not her fault and to be sure to wish her manager a "Happy Easter" from us. Due to the circumstances surrounding our situation and especially since it was Easter Sunday, we felt an exception could have been made. We left the campground anyway, less $35 in our pockets. I know that we will never stop here again, even though the park did appear to be very clean and well taken care of. We have shared our story with many of our RV'ing friends and they agree with us and would also choose to not visit this park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were parked in a big open field with full hook-ups. Our location did not have a patio or any kind of shrubs to separate the spaces. You were back to back and side to side, very narrow roads. Not very impressed with the set-up. Lots of permanent/snowbirds residents, rate reflects a week's stay. Cable and Wi-Fi worked well. We would stay again just for 1 or 2 nights. Really enjoyed Marion County Market, it is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Really fresh vegetables/fruits, good prices, very clean, and lots to choose from. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I stayed here for two months so the rate is the monthly rate. As noted the sites are a little tight but long and most are level. Occasionally you get a slight sewer smell if the wind is from the north but not very often. Nice heated pool, two laundries, very nice club house with individual bath rooms. The weekend dinners and entertainment are very nice at a reasonable price. Mostly snowbirds that were very friendly. Enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean open campground with courteous helpful staff. WiFi good throughout site, and 60+ cable TV channels including high definition. Baths and showers are private, new and spotless. Sites are long pull through, but very narrow so you don't have much privacy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Picked up our new motorhome in Sanford and spent first night at Ocala Sun. The office was closed when we called but they returned our call immediately and gave us precise directions. They were wonderful and very personable when we checked out next day. Wish we could have stayed longer. It is a very nice park -- clean, we'll appointed, friendly with plenty of social amenities. We loved it, and as our first night as RVers, we will always have a fond memory of Ocala Sun. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We always stay here on our way through Ocala as we have friends in the area. The park is top notch and we always stay in the "Rally Row" as they are long pull throughs so we do not have to unhook our cargo trailer. This is a wonderful park and everyone is real nice. Delightful relatively small Snowbird park. We were parked in the "transient" section in a ginormous (100+ ft) pull through level grass site. Paved interior roads. Friendly people both staff and residents. Clean and well kept. Great value for the price (Passport America) Nice, large, grassy, fenced dog run complete with doggy bath facilities. We would definitely come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park; we have stayed here several times in the past, and the park seems upgraded to some extent since we were here last year. There are a number of quite attractive park model homes, in an area formerly used for RV parking. The park is now gated, and the recreational area with a swimming pool looks nice, although we did not use it. As before the sites are level, and easy to get in and out of. All the hook-ups work well. The park is about a half mile from the highway so traffic noise is not a problem . Our $20/night rate was the Passport America rate. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Awesome RV park! Everyone is so friendly, they have a beautiful park with a great pool and clean bathrooms and showers! Their new clubhouse is great too! Nice place and owner is very helpful! I think this is under new ownership so I would ignore the older reviews. The place was very clean and tidy. Pools was excellent, even had a grill! Not a lot of shade but seemed like most people here were in really big rigs possibly snowbird types. The owner went out of the way to help me here. I needed to drop off my camper for the weekend since there was no place to park it at my parent's house in West Palm Beach. I called these guys up and they said Sure, you can leave it here for 10 bucks. Well, they even let me plug it in to a site so the fridge would run! Came back in a few days and all was well. Thanks guys! Would stay here again for sure. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here previously, in a 42' rig, and each stay is the same: friendly, helpful staff, flat grassy pull-throughs, cable and Wi-Fi that works well. The Park has easy access from I-75. Trash is picked up daily from in front of your coach. We stayed here on our way out of FL because we liked the park rather than travel further to an unknown." We camped here in a Motorhome.

We came in late and found the park to be very nice and clean. The office staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The pull- through sites are very big, nice level grassy area, clubhouse very nice, showers and restrooms exceptionally clean, WiFi was great, quick connection and cable TV was also a great feature. We will stay here on our way back home, it was so pleasant, it is a top rated park in our eyes, we would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice place to stay with all the amenities and very reasonable priced. Unfortunately, we only used Sun RV Park as a stop before heading home after a 3 week trip. This park was exceptionally clean and easy to get in and out off. Almost all sites are pull throughs. We arrived late and found it easy to get to our site, paying the following morning. A very friendly office staff. We also learned that they have entertainment occasionally, which we unfortunately missed. We will definitely be back. PS, we used our Passport America discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here only one night and they have additional security by having a gate that is locked at night. The bathrooms were clean; the facility appears to be pretty new. The sites were large and grassy and we had a pull through although there are back-ins also. They honored our Passport America for a great rate. We usually stay in Lake City but were late getting away so this made a really good spot to stop off by being l/2 mile from I75. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is easy on/off I-75, but the smell of sewer ruined our stay. No matter where you are the park has several areas where sewer smell is very strong. Small pool available, but with no playground or things for the kids to do I would not stay here again. Even with a playground until sewer gets fixed not worth the money. Great park. The park was only a half of a mile from I-75. The resort is open seven day a week. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were escorted to our site and they pick up trash every morning. Very clean restrooms and things to do every day. We were here when they had a chili cooking contest and a live band - all for a dollar! The band was awesome and the chili was great! Even the owners were at the party and they were very nice. We rate this park a 10 and will definitely be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our third time here and each time has been worse. It started as a great place but has gone down. We called six moths ahead for a pull-through site and was told we could only get one for six nites as they would all be taken after that. We made res. for six nites and when we got there they put us in a pull through after we got set up they backed a camper in behind us, I questioned this and was told that I pulled through when I got there what more did I want. I went to the office and they looked around and said they could move me. I stayed there but had power and water problems due to to many hooked to the same line. I complained but to no avail. My last time here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three months this winter. We had a great winter with great owners and staff. Everything here is top notch and all the amenities work 110%. Nice quiet. Park that is close to everything you need. We are looking forward to our next winter at this Great Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Roads are paved but sites have no pads. The park sits back from the highway enough to be quiet at night. Management was helpful. It was very pet friendly with a fenced dog run area. The only reason I scored this park an 8 was due to lack of pads to pull onto. With no pads, we were tracking in wet sand constantly. However, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects weekly rate. Although it was not perfect, this park had the best Wi-Fi signal we have encountered in quite some time. Streets are paved and sites are wide and grassy with stone or concrete patios. Staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the walking trail but our dogs found numerous sand burrs in the dog park. We discussed this with the owner, and he is looking into a fix. It was nice to have trash picked up at the curb on your site. Access is easy off of I-75, but it is a trip for groceries. Nice park and we will definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The daily rate mentioned reflects a monthly stay. We really liked this park. Friendly staff, Clean everywhere you look. Even the owners work very hard to make your stay a good one. This was a very nice resort. We spent one night en-route to our destination. The dog park was approved by our Brittany and Australian shepherd. We would definitely come back and stay longer in order to take advantage of their amenities. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park for a place to stay for a few nights. The rate represents Passport America rate. The park has grassy sites that are level. All the utilities work well. There is ample space between RV's. Park is well maintained, but there is little landscaping and few trees. There is a nice little trail for a walk in the woods. Have been here before and would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The only reason this is not a 10 is that it is not directly on the ocean. We stayed here in October 2011 after researching parks in Florida for over a month during the winter of 2011. We spoke (via social media) with people who have stayed here and everyone said they loved the park. After staying for 5 weeks October 2011 we had to head back to Canada for Christmas, etc. We booked this park again for Feb to May. VERY friendly staff. Owner is available 24/7 and is a hands-on operation. Lots of fun activities including a free weekly computer class for all levels. Pool is heated and clean. Wi-Fi is good as I use it for video computer training courses I take regularly and have no problem with the connection. We have no complaints and have already booked for next year. I highly recommend this park for one night or a full season. This park has regulars who just keep coming back, like us now. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park with grassy sites, some with shade, moat are fairly level. Excellent Wi-Fi and all utilities worked well. Easy off and on from I-75. Staff was very helpful. We tried to get the PA rate but at this park you have to stay a minimum of 2 nites to get the discount and a max of 3. Apparently the management does not want to give the discount for a single overnight stay? We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Fee represents a P/A discount. The park is very well ran, clean, and well maintained. Sites are all grass and the one we were on (125) was a bit difficult to get level on. Hook-ups are well located. The host/owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. An escort to the site is provided. Wi-Fi (very fast), water and electric were all excellent. We would definitely stop here again. Ocala Sun RV Resort is a great campground to visit. We’ve been going there since February 2009 in our class A motorhome. We found it in our Passport America book. If you are traveling on I-75 near Ocala, it’s a very good place to stop. It’s the same exit as the Big Daddy Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. They have nice big pull-through sites available. Very convenient for an overnight stop. The staff is also very nice, helpful & friendly. The facilities are very clean. The private bathrooms include a private shower. Their clubhouse is nice also. We would recommend this park for a one night stop, a week, a month or longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park with fairly spacious sites. Although there are some sites with trees at the edge, most of the sites are in an open well-maintained grassy area. The sites are flat, so leveling is no problem. They are very proud of their Wi-Fi, which is free, and the reception was excellent. Water, electrical, TV cable and sewer connection are in good shape, and there are no problems. This is a Passport America park, and a good place for an overnight visit if you are on the road. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport America rate noted. Would give it a 10 if they had concrete pads. Otherwise, this park is what all RV parks should be: clean, quiet, orderly, lots of activities, clean and modern laundries (2!), great Wi-Fi, cable, pool, nice landscaping, on-site management, a modern and well-staffed office, guided parking, easy access from interstate, close to shopping. A snowbird park with sites available for over-night. Excellent reception at check in, reasonable rate for FHU, escorted to grassy pull thru. Sites in this area are back-to-back so you could have a very close neighbor if they were extremely busy, but our escort said they wouldn't be putting anyone next to us on either side tonight (thoughtful because we've been in campgrounds where they line you up even when they aren't busy!). One consideration for motorhomes: use your leveling blocks on the grass because you will sink in (it's hard enough to drive on, but your jacks will go down!) We put this one on our list for future reference. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our rate reflects the Passport America rate. This park had easy access from the freeway. The internal roads were paved and allowed plenty of room. We stayed in the sites for 'passer throughs' which are all long and grassy pull through sites. Some sites have patios, but the majority are all grass. There is plenty of space for dog walking including a fenced off leash park which also has a dog wash. The bathrooms were individual private rooms that were clean and modern. I did not use the laundry here. We would definitely stay here again. This park is also very close to trailheads to access hiking a mountain biking trails. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here a few years ago and it was nice. The new owners have improved the Park and I understand are planning more improvements. It is a very nice park with great power, water, electric, cable and wi-fi. There is lots of room around sites and they are easy to get in and out of. We will be back again. We have a 6-month reservation here for the winter. Came in in November after having been here in March 2010 and loving it. There are new owners, and they are just THE BEST. They are making improvements in the park all the time. They are also very "hands-on" owners. Had a great Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, and a WONDERFUL New Year's Eve party (the owners came to all of them). The bathrooms are very very nice. Pool is kept very warm (for us snowbirds). Can't really complain about anything. Will definitely return next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were told they had blazing fast high-speed internet access. When we arrived their WI-FI was not working and they had to reset it. It then was so slow and constantly disconnecting and needing to be reset it was unusable! When I complained about it they offered to set us up with a modem and connection through Bright House Networks, and I said sure. When the technician showed up 3 days later to install the modem he expected me to pay for everything. The park had set up the service with Bright House in my name! Totally unacceptable! When I complained about that they told us to leave! The sites are in an open field and there aren't many trees around. There not very level either and required me to use several blocks just to get close to being level! They claim to have an exercise room and they did not! The pool and spa are heated but the spa is attached to the pool so it's the same temperature as the pool. It's not like a separate hot water spa. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners of this park could not be more accommodating. The staff starting with the check-in personal could not have been nicer. The staff person whom escorted us to our site (also asked if we needed help hooking up) was so personable, the maintained staff is very efficient. The showers, bathrooms, laundry rooms, club house could not have been cleaner. The staff comes around every morning to your site and picks up your garbage. They have wonderful activities, if you choose to participate, and the Activities Director is so accommodating and fun. We can not say enough about this park, it was truly a wonderful experience, one of the nicest parks we have stayed at. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Ah, now this is my idea of a really nice RV park. Wide, pull-through spaces that can accommodate even big rigs with no problem. 50 amp service at most sites, with some 30 amp available up by the office. Friendly staff, a fully equipped rec room with a pool table, indoor shuffle board, and ping-pong. The WiFi at this park is actually fast (they just had it fixed). Has a swimming pool, on-site laundry and propane. The showers and bathrooms are like your own private office with a door that locks instead of just a flimsy curtain. The site has new owners who have made major improvements. This is a great RV resort with a nice set-back from the busy road and located just far enough from I-75 that you can barely hear it. Plus the rates are really reasonable. The only con at this campground are that there are no sidewalks adjacent to the park, so if you want to walk, it's the same 1/2 mile circle over and over. An ice machine and vending machines for soda or a camp store would be a big improvement. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good Park, basically an grass field with hookups. WiFi was not free - had to get Tangonet for $15 per week. Check-in was efficient, easy access from interstate. Great walking area around park and dog park with bathing area. Pool was heated and clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We used Passport America so our rate was lower. This is a park used by people for long term stays. Sites are grass but level. Dead grass all over the place and tracked into your RV in the mornings when wet with dew. We were not impressed by this park. We left after 3 days. Park has just been sold so changes in the future. We stopped here after a long drive south, ended up staying 6 nights, more than planned so we could check out the area. Staff very pleasant and helpful, everything very clean and well kept. Biggest complaints were no picnic table at site, no trees and when they are busy you end up really packed in. They brought another motorhome to park next to us and we had to take down our awning so they could fit! Otherwise nice place and pet friendly. We would stop here again on our way south! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stopped here on our way to Florida. The $19 was Passport America rate and was paid in cash (could use a check). The sites were all on grass and parking is alternated so there is some room between campers, but still very close. We were escorted to our site which was good as after dark might have been difficult to find. The site was fairly level. Tengo internet was available and connectivity was good. The dog walk area was great and fairly dog waste free. We would stay here again only if it was not raining. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I highly recommend this campground. Updated, clean, nice people, things to do, lots of conveniences. What more do you want. We came here from Ocala RV Camp Resort (see review) as did many people. They had incomplete grounds. The staff was okay. I loved the facilities. I hated the rallies. There is lots of dog waste everywhere. There are some nice people. Someone stole our awning pole. Staff couldn't care less. We stayed for one week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We just love this place. It is for 55+ and the staff is just fantastic. Seems they cannot do enough for you to make you stay an enjoyable one. They do allow children for two weeks or so, so it is not as restrictive as some parks are. They are in process of rebuilding the park. Within the next thirty to forty days they should be completed putting in the cable, phone and Wi-Fi at every site. They are also adding 100 more sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really liked this park. It would be a 10 if they had sewer hook ups. It is located very close to many Ocala area RV dealers. We were referred to the park by the dealer from which we bought our RV. Extremely clean. It is located at the trail head of a popular mountain biking trail. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice place to stay. Spacious level sites with water and electric. Most sites offer nice shade, some are in the plain sun. We just stayed for one night and didn't use any facilities. However, the overall appearance of the park was to be well maintained. Like all state parks very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. We would come again. This is a beautiful state park with very nice trails for biking/hiking. Quiet, peaceful setting with very good pull through sites available. The only drawback we could mention is that in order to take your personal canoes/kayaks to the launch site it is approximately a 1/2 mile walk. You cannot drive a vehicle to the site to launch; however, there is a city park 4 miles east with launch sites available for a $5/daily fee for entry. There is a nice museum on site and a "cracker" village although entry into the buildings is not permitted. We stayed 4 nights and loved it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice camp ground with very large sites. Check in is friendly and easy. There is no bad sites in the camp ground. There is walking trails canoe, kayak rentals, bike riding, horse back riding, and a museum with out buildings of the history of the area. Silver Springs is next to it with glass bottom boats, Jungle cruses and a walk through a zoo like park. There is also a water park that is part of Silver Springs in the summer months. There is a Super Walmart a few miles away on Hwy 40 and restaurants on Hwy 40 and 200. On 200 east of I-75 there is any kind of food you care to eat. We will go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a pretty campground with large sites that are nicely spaced out so there is plenty of privacy. The location on the Silver River is ideal for kayaking and canoeing. We kayaked from the park launch ramp to the springs and saw several alligators, birds of all kinds and monkeys! Yes, monkeys in the trees along the river. The campground is close enough to Ocala for supplies, etc. without it feeling like you're in an urban area. We would return here for another visit! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent campground with large, spacious, level lots. Additionally the restrooms are very clean and attended to on a regular basis. The only reason no *10* rating is because of no individual sewage hook up. However, the dump station is situated for incoming and outgoing campers with two individual dump ports. Also, the staff were very friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

What a beautiful park, we stayed in site 38 for four nights. The sites and the space between the sites is large. Most sites are a "L" shape with the leg of the "L" at the rear of the site. In the leg of the "L" there is a fire ring and a grill. The site was packed sand. The restroom and shower facilities were spotless. We love Florida State Parks and find this to be one of the best. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Having camped in a majority of the Florida State Parks I can say without a doubt this is one of the top Florida parks on my list for several reasons. First, friendly helpful staff. Additionally the camp host (and hostess) were cleaning the sites as they were vacated like they were cleaning their own home, immaculate! Secondly the sites are very large compared to most other areas also offering pull through although the back in sites offer more shade. The restroom facilities were very clean and spacious. There are no bad things to say about Silver River SP, if there is a "negative" it is that there is no location sewer, but with that said the dump station is a "double" able to service people going two different directions at the same island. I will definitely make additional trips to this park!!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a hidden jewel close to the Ocala National Forest. The sites are huge and paved road is great for the kids to ride their bikes within the camp loop. We stayed in site 32 and would stay here again. The park is close to shopping and restaurants. Silver Springs theme park is just down the street. Great hiking trails that lead directly to the springs. If you like to relax and hike, this the park for you. We will be back when it's a little cooler and tackle some of the more challenging trails. Facilities were clean and modern, the camp hosts were great and were very attentive. Rangers were also very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Florida resident senior rate shown. Double for standard rate. Our fourth weekend visit here at a great park. There are no bad sites, just some better than others. Most are large and well shaded with privacy from adjacent sites. Minimal leveling required on ones we've had. No leveling this time on site 20. Bathrooms and showers were neat and clean at all times of the day. The museum as usual, was very interesting and would be a real treat for youngsters with a mammoth skeleton, ancient crocs, Ross Allen Institute materials, and many other artifacts, both ancient and recent. There was a "Cracker Village" program which we attended previously. It is a must see if going on during your visit. There are many hiking trails. In the Summer, I suggest the river trail as it is very cool once you get to the Silver River. No fishing or swimming, but you can canoe or kayak or take off your shoes and wade a bit. To really cool off, drive about a mile or so out of the park to the Waterpark adjacent to the Silver Springs attraction which is also a must see. I found a very good golf course called Ocala Golf Club about 3-4 miles from the park. They said it was the best public course in Florida. After playing here (for $29, cart and greens fee), I totally agree. Fairways were very good, greens were outstanding and sand in the traps was easy to play out of. In places, the roughs left something to be desired, but with wide fairways, I shouldn't have been there anyway. Gold tees are 74.0/129, blues 71.2/125. This is one of our favorite parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first visit to this park. The sites are large, private and beautiful. Just about all sites have at least partial shade. There are some pull throughs. The volunteer host couples did a good job with keeping the facilities neat and clean. They also did some landscaping to tidy up the sites. While the park has a Cracker Village and Museum, it is not open to the public during the week as it is used by school children. This would have been a nice way to spend one of the 97 degree afternoons. The Silver River itself cannot be used for swimming. You could canoe it, but you had to carry paddles and life jackets a good distance through soft sand. The park is close to stores in Ocala. The fee reflects the Florida senior discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is outstanding with many trails for biking or walking. Would of gave it a 10 if it had a pool but that is not at most state parks. Bathrooms were spotless, showers were great. Sites were huge with plenty of room for a second camper to park if they had another hook up on the site for it. Our site only had 30 amp service but I others sites had big rigs at them. We were at site 32 and 33 for a total of 3 nights. Sad news was my family did not want to leave. This will be a park we stay at again. Sites are private between your neighbors. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Paid FL Senior rate of $12 plus taxes. Agree with prior reviews, big level sites, we were really surprised at how big some were. Only downside is that we could only spend a night. But it is on our must revisit list for sure. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The top things to do here are canoeing, hiking, and the Silver Springs Nature Theme Park right next door. The canoeing was spectacular with loads of birds and alligators. As long as you keep your distance from the gators: no problem. The hiking trails are great, especially the Swamp Trail. The SSNTP is best as a full day trip because it is not cheap. It offers glass-bottom boat rides on the clearest spring water river one can find. The captain will entertain you with stories of Tarzan movies and Sea Hunt being filmed on the river. We missed out on a carriage ride in horse country around Ocala: there are a lot of beautiful horse farms to see. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in # 48 (pull through). Very spacious and nice shade. Saw lots of deer in and around campground. Great bike trails. Just be careful of the Ross Allen trail as it's extremely swampy and lots of mosquito's. Some areas we had to walk the bikes across water. We ended up turning around and heading out before finishing the loop due to the mosquito's. Rangers all very friendly. The river trail has a canoe/kayak launch. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is our favorite spot, bar none. The sites are huge, private, and beautifully maintained. Restrooms are always clean, and the hiking and biking trails are great. Great little museum in the park, too. We camp here 3-5 times a year and love it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We only stopped for an overnight stay so we didn't really see much of the park. About 8 miles from I-75 however: you had to pass through a not so nice area to get there (not the parks fault). Restrooms were clean, Park ranger was friendly and sites were private. Would consider a return visit. Nice State Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A nice Florida state park. The sites are packed dirt and gravel. There was a record cold front the days that we were here, and some of the water pipes burst closing down the mens room and washer facility. No fault of the park staff though, they all worked hard to maintain a comfortable situation. There is a learning center here for elementary age children though we saw none during our stay. The location is very close to Ocala down town area. It did have a drawback one night though. A helicopter drew us outside late one night. It turned out that the police were looking for a criminal that escaped on foot through the park! It didn't last long though, he either got away, or they caught him. Lots of rangers and police paroling around, we still felt safe. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

My wife and I prefer to camp in the State Parks, and this is our second trip to Silver River State Park. It is an incredible park if you are looking for a place to get away and maybe do some hiking. Fishing is NOT allowed on the Silver River in the park but you can rent a canoe or drag your own watercraft 1/2 mile through the woods down a trail. I love the hiking trails, they are clean and well kept. There are some great mountain biking trails whenever your feet get tired. Wild life is in abundance. The first morning here my wife was walking our dog and came upon 2 coyotes sitting. One ran off, but the other one was curious and decided to watch our Golden Retriever as they retreated closer to the trailer. I spoke with the ranger, and he says the park is full of coyotes, but they have never had a problem with them. Now the camp sites are INCREDIBLE!!! They are HUGE! Again we had a pull through, and the sites are large enough to park 2 RVs. The base is pea gravel and very firm. While we were camping, a cold front moved in that week and temps drooped to low to mid 20' at night. I disconnected by fresh water supply from the trailer and used the internal tanks at night during the coldest periods. The hose did freeze as some campers found out the next morning. We had site 56 and we were approximately 200 yards from a country road that edged the park. Vehicle noise could be heard, but was not loud enough to penetrate our trailer. Firewood can be purchased from the rangers. During our stay, due to low humidity we could only have a fire after 6pm. They have a playground for small children, and about 1 mile from the park was a nice looking water park (not operated by the state park). The bathrooms and showers very clean but not heated, and rather chilly during the winter months. All roads in the park are paved and in GREAT condition. The park also has beautiful cabins for rent at $110 a night. We took a tour, and they are rustic look with rap-around porches, although modern inside. A real deal, but pets are not allowed in the cabin areas. I would of given the park a 10 if they had direct hookup for black/grey water. There are two dump stations near the campsites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We had site #58 a PT. This was our 3rd time camping here. All sites are very large so anything can fit. There are a few 50 amp sites so if you need one book early. Site has a gravel base so no sand in unit but sometimes the gravel follows you. Bathrooms were clean and well tended to. Lots of trails to hike or bike with rest areas (tables and shade) on them. Nice museum with a gift store. Park has picnic pavilions and a playground available. Canoes can be rented or you can bring your own. Beware you have to carry it about 1/2 mi if you bring your own. Rentals are next to the river. Cracker Village is open one weekend a month. Stargazing is offered another weekend. Shopping is close by in Ocala. The only problem we had this time was ants. There seemed to be lots of them in our site not sure if they were everywhere else though. We sprayed our stuff and that seemed to work OK. There are also 10 cabins that can be rented if you do not want to tent camp or don't have an RV. All roads are paved and they have a double dump station to expedite the process. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice state park. We were in the Fort King loop: had a large pull-through site. We could hear traffic from our site, but could not see the road. The traffic noise was not too bad, though. The bathhouse was very nice and clean. The changing areas in the showers are large and have a bench and several hooks: wish all campgrounds would add these small, but convenient features. We saw several does with fawns, one young buck, and a gray fox on the trails. We rode bikes on all the trails except Sandhill Trail. It was a lot of fun. The rental cabins look very nice. Check-in was fast and Rangers were all very friendly. We will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Yes the sites are big and for the most part very level and if you just want a place to stay then this is OK. However, if you have kids (1-21yo) there is not much for them to do after the first 3 hours. There are 3 trails that can be explored and there is the river, 1/2 mile away. That is about it. While there you can go to Wild Water and Silver Springs, another waste if time and money for anyone with kids. It is $25 per person for the water park that has 3 rides and a wave pool. A family of 4 is $100 plus anything that you buy to eat. Silver springs has 3 boat rides and a jeep ride. All the jokes are the same on each boat ride and the jeep ride is really lame as my grand daughters put it. If the kids are over 9 and under 18 the place is not that great as there are no rides that the kids want to go on. If you're going to someplace I would recommend Wild Adventures in Georgia and not to Ocala. Just my opinion. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Pull thru site(#16) we had was huge. Room for the MH,toad and at least an extra 30 feet. Bathroom/showeres were modern and very clean. It is a long walk to the river, over 1/2 mile so carrying a canoe or kayak would be a challenge. Voltage was great at 120 v during our stay, but there were only a few other RV's there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Efficient reservations at Reserve America and a warm welcome - simply handed us the papers. Very quiet and spotless. I agree with the earlier writer about needing sewer connection for a 10 rating, but this place was wonderful for us. The dual dump station was spotless and never a line. Deer walked through our site, camp hosts were wonderful. Seldom heard any noise from anhyone. We shall definitely return! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I do not rate a park a 10 unless it has sewer. So the best this park could do was a 9 and it deserved it. The sites are very spacious and easy to get into. There is a lot of space between sites and you can barely see your neighbor. The sites are nice and level and each have a picnic table and fire ring. There is not a lot to do at this park except walk, ride bikes and watch for wildlife. There are canoe rentals and you can launch your own boat in the Silver River, but it is a good 1/2 mile trek to get to the launch site. There is no swimming or fishing in the river at the park. You are not far from Silver Springs Amusement Park or downtown Ocala. Very quiet at night and the rest rooms and showers were very clean and modern. Would stay there again in a heartbeat We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the nicest Florida State Parks I have camped in. The sites are large and shaded. Great area for hiking and biking. The bath houses are always clean. I camp here several times a year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We really enjoyed our stay at this state park and have already made reservations to return. There are 4 camping loops, all gravel pads with water and electric. There are quite a few large pull through sites. We had a large pull through with room for 3 slides. There are 2 bath houses with a laundry at each. The park is beautiful with several walking trails. It is a short walk from the campground to the Silver River. The park is located close to Ocala and the entrance to Silver Springs. It is about a 10 minute drive from the campground to grocery stores, restaurants (some with WIFI), and Wal Mart. You can rent canoes in the park for $5 per hour. You really need to get out on the river to appreciate the beauty. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wonderfully wide level sites with hookups well placed. We could have parked at least one more RV in our site (#8). We enjoyed the nature trails and the river. Nice to have a campfire at night. Total privacy in our site. Very close to town if you need to shop. We will definitely come back here for a longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful S/P. Roads are asphalt and wide. All sites are super size with lots of room and trees on each side. Sites are hard packed gravel and very level. Table, fire rings, BBQ equipment to cook on. DTV and analog TV very poor over the air. Museum was very good and low cost. Lots of trails to walk on. Cabins near RV parking if you need them. Playground equipment for kids. Dump station was very good. Bathhouse was spotless also had washers and dryers. Silver river close to camp sites. Super Wal-Mart and places to eat 3.5 miles from campground. AC power 50 amps and water were good and in correct place. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our 2nd time camping here. We had site #58 a side PT. Sites are huge compared to other FL state parks. Lots of room to spread out. There are 4 loops. The 1st and 4th have the most PT's. We camped with a group and had plenty of room for everyone to gather. Museum is $2pp (under6 free) and open everyday from 9-5. Plenty of bike/walking trails. Picnic area with pavilions and playground. Each campsite is limestone/gravel with table, bbq grill and fire ring. PT's are 50A, all others are 30A/15A. Double dump station so no line when leaving. Park has a Cracker Village to view, but buildings are not open to go inside. If you want to launch your own canoe or kayak on the river you must carry it about.6 mile to boat launch.I believe there is a public launch about 3 miles away you can drive to. For us this is a winter park as there is no swimming due to gators in the river and no swimming area with lifeguards. Park hosted an astronomy night when we were there but the sky was very cloudy. We would go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Visited this campground once again and it just keep getting better. The sites are huge and the park is allowing the vegetation to grow, which allows for privacy. My only objection this trip is not the park's fault, but a fellow camper on a site across the street was breaking every rule in the book. There was a temporary fire ban placed into effect and they were told twice by the park rangers to put their campfire out, they did not. They were also tearing down trees from the woods and using them as firewood. This is a definite violation of park rules. Also loud mouths and loud music was very irritating. I only bring this up to remind others to please follow the state parks rules. It makes for an enjoyable experience for all of us! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Big, well maintained sites. Clean, modern rest rooms. Very nice hiking trails and places to ride bikes. Almost every site is accessible to any type of rig. Sites are also private and well maintained. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was a new park for us, and we are always a little fearful not knowing what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. The sites were large and well shaded. The campground has two loops, Sharpe's Ferry and Fort King. We stayed in Fort King, but there were very few sites in either loop that we would not have been able to fit into. There are washers and dryers available on-site and shopping opportunities in nearby Ocala. We would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed in this park many times, and it has always been wonderful. Large level sites. This is one of our favorites. The center pull throughs are 50 amp. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If we lived anywhere in the south or east, this campground would be used frequently by our family. We stayed here for 2 nights on way to Walt Disney World and wished we could have stayed longer and the campground was booked for when we could return -- definitely popular! While rainy, our stay was relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The park is gated after hours but campers are given the necessary code to enter if necessary. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had site #43 Fort King loop. Our site was huge as our most sites in this park are. Bathhouses were newer and very nice. Camping area a long way from the center of the park, we used our bikes a lot. 5 picnic pavilions, museum of a reconstructed Cracker village, a natural and cultural museum $3 pp. 10 cabins in separate loop, 5 walking trails. We biked the river trail which overlooks the Silver River. Pets are allowed. The weekend we camped there was a Pow Wow which was very educational for our dd. All sites have a stone pad, BBQ grill, picnic table, and fire ring. Sites were very deep. You can canoe/kayak the silver River but you need your own canoe or use an outside vendor. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This state park is one of the best in Florida. The sites are huge. Back-in sites are even big rig friendly. The continued growth of the vegetation between the sites is allowing more and more privacy. The staff is extremely friendly. Only real complaint is their over priced firewood. It is small pieces and is usually wet and/or green. We are bringing our own wood next time. Nice picnic and playground area. There is a museum on the grounds, but have never seen it open. Plenty of hiking trails. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the prettiest parks we have ever seen! All roads are paved. All sites are paved, level, huge, and very private. If you don't need all the amenities and want a campsite about 10 times the size of a commercial campground, give this park a try. There are only a few 50A sites so reserve early if that's important to you. We will stay here many more times. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground, there are walking and bike trails. One trail ended up at river, very beautiful. The site is large and leveled , the bath room and shower are one of the best I've ever seen--very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If they had sewers they would get a 10. Nice state park campground. Sites are very big and they have a number of pull throughs. Roads are easy to get around. Great place for a bike. Camped here for 2 nights and the site was wonderful. Showers were large and had heat lamps, everything was clean, even had laundry facility available. However, the museum was closed (open only on weekends) and other buildings shuttered. They have many hiking trails, but though they say they are on the Silver River, it is a 1/2 mile walk to get there. No bad, unless you want to put in a canoe at the canoe launch. There is no easy way to get your canoe/kayak to the river. As a spot to launch off to other Silver Springs/Ocala sites, it is great. However, a short distance away are some commercial campgrounds that offer far more at a similar/reasonable price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Has the biggest pull thru sites I have ever seen, no RV too big for this campground. Sites were in great condition. Highly recommend visiting the museum which shares the history of the area. It's in the park, walking distance from the campsites. No charge, donations only. Trails are beautiful but unbearably hot and buggy since we visited in the summer. We brought kayaks and paddled the Silver River, it is crystal clear and you will see the occasional alligator and many different birds. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Silver River State Park for five days starting Dec. 30, 2003. It is a beautiful campground, there is four walking trails and one biking trail. I walked two of the walking trails, they were very nice, both ended up at Silver River and it is worth the walk to just see the river. Fire wood is there for a donation at the campground. It is close to shopping. Would I go again, Yes. The sites are very large and covered with small stones, contained a picnic table and a fire ring. Many of the sites are pull through. We had site 10 and it was close to the bath house. In the campground are 10 cabins that are very nice, they will sleep 6, everything is furnished except the food. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful state park. Huge private sites, lots of walking/bike trails and a museum. Firewood available for a donation. Did'nt see a bad site in this park. Highly recommended We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The perfect camp site, very large and private. My only problem with this park is that there isn't a trail that follows the river. There is one trail that takes you down to it but thats it. I can't understand a park that has a beautiful river running through and not having any access to it. If it wasn't for this I would have gave it a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very new state park. Just opened last year (2001) The staff at the park are most helpful and friendly. Someday with a little time it will be a top rated state park. The sites are very large sites. Some of the largest I have seen. It has 6 or so very nice cabins that are located deep in the forest. It has lots of hicking trails that you can see wildlife. I saw deer and turkeys. It is less than a mile from the Silver Springs attraction. We camped here in a camper.

Our rate reflects the Passport America price. The park is very nice, level sites, full hookups at each site. The owners are excellent and friendly. We stay here due to bringing our rig in for a yearly check into our favorite RV repair shop. We will be back again next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The PPA rate is a great value for a place with huge sites. Check in was friendly, and we were led to the site. Handicap restrooms were very clean. Cable and Verizon were fine. Wifi was iffy. It rained hard while we were there, but it drained well. There were Pilots on the north and south sides of the road at the I-75 exit. We will return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Located 2.2 miles from I-75, exit 358. The office is located at the back of the property. Most of the sites are in an open, grass field and the sites feel very spacious. There’s plenty of room for slides and awnings. Park is clean, well maintained, quiet, and peaceful. Nice laundry room with 4 washers, 4 dryers, folding table, and chairs. Nearby is a Sweetbay grocery store, CVS, auto parts store, Chinese food, and an excellent seafood restaurant. Passport America rate is $18.00 including tax and cable TV and Good Sam rate is $28.80. Located 3 miles from Ocala Speedway (dirt track). Free WiFi and it worked just fine. We would definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We signed up for two nights, expecting to move on to another campground. We ended up staying here for two weeks, we liked it so well. HUGE sites, lots of open space for walking our two large dogs, friendly campers and staff. We really liked Wandering Oaks. We'll be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here for a day or two on our way to our winter destination. The sites are easy to get into with plenty of space between sites. A nice touch is that you are escorted to your site to make sure everything is okay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Passport America park. Site was long and mostly level, grass, no shade trees. Won't take a Credit Card for under $25. Good for an overnight stay. Was just a couple of miles from I-75, next to US 301 so some road noise. OK for "Big Rigs." We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our spot was easy to pull through and adequate for an overnight stay. We were basically parked on grass and sand, and although we had no problems, I would not have liked to park here in wet weather. The overnighting section was crowded, but the long-term sites were much nicer. The park had lots of mature trees; the bathrooms were immaculate; and we really liked the clubhouse. We did not use the Wi-Fi, but our Verizon Aircard worked great. This is the Passport America rate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park has nice long pull through's: no need to unhook. It's satellite friendly, has level grass sites, and good interior roads. Good overnight choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We would camp here again. The sites are large and the staff was helpful, took us to our site. New picnic tables. Bath house and laundry were very clean. This is a 55-plus campground, but our children were welcome. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a former mobile home park and the sites are huge. Where we were the sites were fairly level, and grassy. I would have given this a higher score, but there were a lot of fire ant hills in our site, one right by the hookups which made connecting not so pleasant. When I made a comment about the fire ants, the host said that you have to be careful and stamp your feet when they crawl on you. But overall a pleasant RV park, easy to get in and out of. Not only is this a Good Sam park, but also a Passport America. Looked like a lot of permanents, but neat and tidy anyway. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport rate of $14.50 + $2 for Catv. Overall the park should be an 8, our site 317 was a dog and would rate it a 3 - 4 for a motor home. Steping in dog droppings while positioning the coach didn't do much for my mood. The park attendant who parked us had us backup until we touched tree branches, but our bedroom slide could not extend without going into tree limbs. We pulled forward to move away from limbs. The front wheels were 3-4" off the ground when we leveled the RV. We did not hookup to water or sewer (it doesn't flow uphill). But, they do have some very nice large sites. Baths / laundry were great, that is why the rating is 6 versus 3-4. People were fairly friendly and area not bad. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park but nothing special. Grass sites, the pull thrus are very long but the back in sites are pretty tight. Interior roads are narrow and some of the trees need trimming. It is an easy on/off from the interstate and the nearby seafood restaurant is good. We would overnight here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Friendly office staff; 45' x 100' pull through sites; fairly level all grass sites; wifi works great; cable TV is $2 extra; rate quoted is Passport America without cable. We picked up the major networks with TV antenna (with DTV converter). Sweetbays and CVS nearby; campground is just off US 301 and 2 miles east of I-75; very quiet. Not much planned for kids but offers plenty of space for outdoor games. Seasonal activities planned for new clubhouse. Back in sites seem to have fairly permanent residents but they are neat and quiet. We stayed here several days and enjoyed the relaxation. We'd come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice very clean park. Paved roads and paved pads which are comfortably wider than most parks. Washrooms, showers and laundry facilities clean. Pool was not heated so could not use. Staff very friendly and accommodating in every way. The Wi-Fi is free but not 100% reliable, cable TV is free but limited. Walking distance to groceries and fast food outlets (15 minutes). RV service center part of campground should you need maintenance or repairs. We used them for repairs: they were reasonable and we were satisfied. Many friendly repeat campers, mostly seniors. Would recommend this park. We stayed here one month. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a good clean park, with mostly longer term snowbird tenants. Sites are level asphalt. Decent size sites with easy access (slanted back in). Good interior roads - easy to maneuver motorhome and towd. Not much shade in most of the park but that is good if you use a roof top satellite dish like we do. Good power and water pressure. Pretty well equipped small store in office. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park. Plenty of room between sites. This was my first day ever pulling and parking my fiver. I let them know ahead of time and she had me in site 91 with no one in site 90 or 92. The office lady was great. We signed up for Passport America with her; hence the 17 dollar nightly fee. The people in the park were great also. Visited with several couples who come here for the winter. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wal-mart 5 miles away and plenty of restaurants close-by. Also a giant RV dealership is right on the parking lot beside you so if you need help or parts you only have to walk a short distance for help or repairs. Sites are level and the park is quiet. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful cg with long paved sites. We stayed here for a repair at Turning Wheel, and didn't expect such a nice place. A swimming pool was installed in August. We would stay again, even without needing a repair. Only gave 9 because WiFi is only available in the clubhouse. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate is with the Passport discount. The park is hard to find, I used the address for Turning Wheel RV which led us right to Turning Wheel, just beyond is the non-gated entrance to the campground. The park was clean, nice grass and some trees. There is some road noise, sirens woke us up during the night - otherwise the park is quiet. We stayed here the night before a repair appointment at Turning Wheel, because the park is right behind Turning Wheel it works well. If the park were full maneuvering a big rig around could be a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park has nice, level sites, and the power level is good. The laundry is functional and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. This rating could be higher but there simply isn't anything to do at the park except walk. There isn't a fitness room, no swimming pool, no library, no activities. If you can entertain yourselves, then this is a nice park for you. Do not use a GPS or mapping program to find this campground. The directions will lead you to a locked back gate which is indeed their official address. Follow the directions in their Passport America listing. You must enter from their entrance off of Highway 441 behind Turning Wheel RV Center. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Just to let everyone know this park now wants $30.00 a day to use the clubhouse and kitchen. This is due to some slobs from groups making a mess in the kitchen and ovens. Instead of the park asking for a deposit and making sure the kitchen is as it was when you accepted it, they think they can make a profit. They should have banned the groups that are slobs instead of making all of us pay for their mess. We will not be going back and please tell all the groups about the price, also the camping fee has gone up. The owner of Turning Wheel has again taken over the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean campground. Spaces are large and at an angle so they are very easy to back into. WiFi is available, but it is linkspot which has a charge for it's use. Parking on on cement pads and there is a table at every site and a grass area next to the rig. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
