Any trailer larger than a 32 will have problems getting on your site. They have put new Park Models in the place that you could maneuver your tow vehicle to access your site, with the only place to park their cars is next to the road, and there are boat trailers on the end of the loop making it difficult to circle the sites. All in all, this is the first RV Park since I have been RVing that I would not return to. The folks that run this park tried to find a place I would fit in and decided that I could use two sites, and were very nice. But, if I hadn't already paid, I would have left already. So all in all, I blame myself for believing what I read in Passport America about 40'. And also I should have checked the site before I paid. The managers are nice and try their best to help. But they know that it is a problem We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Would have rated higher but it is right on a busy Hwy, and I am a very light sleeper. Beautiful settings, right on the water with a marina and what is said to be pretty good fishing. Restrooms really needed some attention as did the laundry. We don't have a problem with older but at least keep it clean. Mostly seasonal but very friendly people. We would stay again if need be, as all the parks in town are on the Hwy. Great Verizon cell/data. Great for satellite. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is in the middle of a large prairie in the middle of no place FL. As you come into the park off blacktop, road is 5 miles long on a shell road with lots of dust to drive 10 MPH or less on to keep down the dust. Park has lots of nice trees to park under. You have two loops, one has 30 amps and water and other is the horse loop with 50 amps and water. Shower and bathhouse on the 30 amp loop only. It is a long 3/4 mile walk if you need to go from the 50 amp loop. Sites were level, had a table, fire ring, and trees were cut back so no problem to get in or out of site. Dump station was in correct place. Park has deer, wild turkeys, birds of all types and all walk around day and night. You will see gators as well in this park. Pack up everything you may need as Okeechobee is 41 miles south and the only place to buy anything or eat out. Verizon cell and air card did work but were weak. Rates were for FL senior citizen. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived here on a Friday at approximately 11:45 and our site was not available yet. Unbeknown to us, check out is 1:00 and check in is not until 3:00. The previous campers did not leave until 1:00 on the nose. Now this would not be so bad if there was something to do. We sat in the rockers on the porch of the office and waited. Our site was 22 which is located on the equestrian camping area. The site is grassy and large but very little shade. In the summer time this could be an issue. There are sites with full shade but would not hold a large RV on the equestrian area. The biggest issue with the sites on the equestrian circle (sites 21-36) is the composite toilet only. There is one (1) unisex toilet only - no running water (no sink to wash your hands) and no shower. They claim it does not smell but I beg to differ. The family circle (sites 1-20) does have a bath house which appears to be recently built. We did not go into it to inspect. The family circle has more shaded camp sites but sites that would hold a big rig do not have shade. The nearest dumpster for trash (located at the dump station) from our site (22) was a good 3/4 mile walk. They offer no playgrounds for children. As noted by others who left reviews, the park is not near any stores. So make sure you have everything you need to camp. This parks boast about its hiking trails. There are miles and miles and miles of them. Most of the trails are in the open with only a couple locations that offer shade in the hammocks. The trails I walked are in soft sugar sand which makes walking difficult and strenuous at times. Since it is a prairie, the breeze did offer some comfort from the sun. I honestly would not recommend hiking these trails to any of my friends. They do offer a weekend motorized buggy ride at the park, and this is one reason for the soft sugar sand on the trails. As a Florida resident with only a 2 hour drive, I doubt we will return to this park. We love Florida State Parks, but this one has been a real disappointment. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped in site #24 in the newly renovated equestrian sites that have 50A/water. Site came with combo fire ring/grill and picnic table. Site was crushed limestone/shell. Plenty of room for larger RV's in horse sites. Lots of shade in site. Campground is in the middle of Florida, nowhere near anything. We only received 1 TV channel well w/o SAT. Very little phone reception. Many great hiking trails for horses, bikes or people. We saw deer, burrowing owls, crested caracaras, vultures, and other birds. Beautiful sunsets and clear stargazing. Burn ban in effect while we were here so no campfire, but park does sell firewood. Very nice bath house with washer and dryer. No playground or interpretive exhibits but ranger did come by site personally with a gator skull and fossils. Buggy ride was down during our stay. We would go back for the relaxation since it was quiet and peaceful during our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third year here! It's heavenly. It's quiet, remote and wonderful. We are staying in an equestrian site. They are more open and removed from the main campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Located off the beaten path, great place to relax and refresh. We stayed here for a week. This is a beautiful prairie. The birding is excellent. It was alligator breeding season and the gators made loud gronking noises in a marshy area along one of the trails. Alligators were not present in the campground area, though I would recommend that you be prepared anywhere in this park for wildlife. We saw quite a few deer. On the weekend, the park was full with quite a few children, with cookouts and partying, so if you're looking for quiet, visit during the week. We enjoyed it and will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great little campground! We had our horses this time and the paddocks were right across from our site. However, the water had been removed and we had to haul water from the site. Minor inconvenience. It is really beautiful here and looks like what Florida must have looked like 1,000 years ago. There were different prairie grasses, saw palmetto, palm hammocks, numerous deer, turkey, bear, gators, birds, racoons and boar. And you're so far from anything that you'll be amazed at how dark the night sky will become. A local astronomy club showed up over a weekend with their telescopes and let us have a look! Very interesting. This cg is a relatively undiscovered gem, especially for Florida. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

KPPSP is a remote place, so bring what you need because the nearest decent grocery or big box store is a 45 minute ride. There is a small country store not far from the entrance but good for only the basics. The entrance to the park can fool you as looking like the office. It's not. Get on the long white road and keep on going for awhile! The seclusion of the park is its main attraction with the journey there finding you kicking up dust on long unpaved roads (good foundation though) and being drawn to the yawning expanse of Florida style prairie. This park is also perfect for star gazers and amateur astronomers as there is little nearby homes or development. There are two camping areas. The family area is first encountered and this is a well used, tight camp loop with 16 RV sites. The sites from 1-14 are mostly shaded under live oak hammock. The best sites are 18 and 20 which offer direct views over the prairie which is quite beautiful in the dawn light. The next camp area is rarely used and a little overgrown with weeds as it centers around a horse corral. KPPSP is widely known for its miles of trails for both biking and hiking and for bird watching. This is a remote place where you have a complete sense of isolation when out on the trails. Otherwise there is not much to do for kids. There is no playground and only a small ranger station/office near the family campground. If you do bring kids, its a good place for them to bike as it's easy to keep an eye on them in the small camping loop. Like all Florida parks, beware the bugs as the rains begin after there winter dry spell. There is a slough right behind the camping loop which is mosquito heaven. The bathrooms are new and fairly well kept with a washer and dryer. Otherwise, this SP is a unusual outpost of nothingness. It's wandering expanse givens one time to amble slowly on trails and have a sense of ownership of the space around you. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

If you are looking for a purely natural area in which to hike or ride your horse, this would be it. There are no stores there or nearby, so be prepared with food and necessities. The campground does not appear to attract a lot of local day visitors, and there are only 20 full service spaces, so quiet predominates. The 20-site loop has a nice restroom/shower facility; showers are hot, and the big double booths have locking outer doors and inner curtains. Other than the twice-daily swamp buggy tour, you will be entertaining yourself. If you are a bird watcher or photographer, this is heaven. While the roads are not paved, they are hard-packed enough to provide plenty of bicycling opportunities, and there are miles of trails to accommodate off-road bicycles. There are also miles of hiking roads (sand) and trails, but beware: the map provided by the park does not correspond with markings on the trails. We took a wrong turn onto a wide road/trail which we later realized did not even show on the map, and added miles to our hike. There are no short hiking loops; if you want a short hike (read: less than 4 miles), you will need to walk up a trail, turn around and go back. In addition to the 20-space loop, there is an equestrian area with 15 loops having neither power nor water, and one outhouse. Adjacent to this loop is a nice multi-corral area for horses. There were none while we were there, but the loop did have a number of campers. Spaces there are very roomy, with woods behind them. Spaces in the full service area are also nice, mostly shaded. Ours wasn't very shady, but it was on the edge of the place, and we had an unobstructed view of the prairie, looking east. At night we heard a family of coyotes howling at the moon. All in all, a wonderful place to camp. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful park in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet, lots of wildlife, and dark skies. Only 20 sites have W/E, the other 15 are equestrian sites with paddocks but no W/E. The sites are level and roomy in a grove of live oak in the middle of 50,000 acres of Florida Prairie. Make sure you come equipped with plenty of groceries and stuff because you are about 30 miles from the nearest grocery store. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Big place, friendly staff, older sites, hard to get the MH in just the right spot to level. Fire ants everywhere, but they were working on them. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed for 3 days and two nights. Fantastic time with our 4 kids. Showers clean. Staff very friendly. Reported a picnic table needing repair within 30 minutes a repairman came. Lots to do! Too much for just the short stay. No bugs! Fire-ants: well yes. I'd recommend this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

After rushing out of another RV "Resort", we travelled a short distance around the corner to the KOA. This is one of the best KOA resorts that we have ever stayed at. The adult pool was huge, the tiki bar was reasonable, and the grounds were kept impeccably clean. Although the WI-FI was not predictable, we would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This camp is very clean as with almost all KOA's. What I was not ready to see were how many snow birds call it home. We had two motor homes with 2 children (6 and 8 years). You would have thought we had the plague. The full-timers did not like us here and did not make us feel welcome. When we first got here, we walked around the park. We walked through the adult only pool area to see the restaurant and were told by two people that the children are not allowed here. WE WERE WALKING THROUGH. The kids were yelled at twice that they were not allowed to ride their scooters to the playground. There were others, but you get the idea. Through-out the weekend we were not made welcome. If you are older, this is a great resort, but young with kids, stay clear. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Big park, crowded sites, many sites flooded after rains. Wi-Fi was spotty. Mostly had to drive for shopping and food. Many activities in the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first visit to the Okeechobee KOA. This is a very large place, with an RV side and a Full time side. We enjoyed the golf course, swimming pool (nice and heated) and playground area. We saw lots of seniors, which we thought were going to clash with the kids in our group. it was just the opposite. We found other campers and residents very helpful and friendly. The restroom was right next to our site and it was clean and it great shape. Our favorite was "The Shanty" bar. loved to visit there and the prices were great for the drinks. We loved this campground and would love to visit it again. Just not crazy about the price, maybe in the off season. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Met some friends here for a week stay. Large park with it's own golf course. A nice, clean place to stay. Lots of Canadians while we were there but all seemed friendly. We enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Really a nice KOA. Very clean and roomy restrooms. Lots of activities. An adult pool. Nice gym, but they do charge. They even have a cocktail bar. Not a lot to do in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff was very rude and not friendly toward children. I requested a pull through campsite near the camp store because my children love to shop. The female staff employee in the store was very rude to my children even in my presence, as if they were a bother to her. The park grounds appeared to be well cared for. There were no activities for the children and a lot of signs which restricted them from having a good time. We left the park a day early. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The lower rating was due to our having to pay $70 a night when their season was over. No activities, the restaurant was closed and the park more than half empty. We had a site overlooking a drainage ditch canal and the golf course, and I guess that constituted a "waterfrontw." Way too much money! However, it was fun to watch the golfers play and the pool was very nice. The town had many restaurant, a lot of chain restaurants, and good services including supermarkets, drugstores, movie theater,etc. We had never seen the lake and were told we would be 1/4 of a mile from the lake. That meant that we were 1/4 of a mile from the berm that you drove up and over, and then there were small canals and water streams leading to the lake. Without a boat, we had only a very distant view of blue of the lake in the background. We have been told of other locations to stay to see the wide expanse of the lake. Some of the full time units in the park were a bit rustic, the electric a bit erratic, but the office personnel were very friendly and helpful.For the price, we would not return, especially after their main winter season. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Facilities are getting a little run down looking. You can tell this is a corporate owned location. Does not have that pride of ownership feel that many family owned parks do. Have camped here several times because of closeness to my home. It is nice weekend trip. Every time I felt like it took forever to be waited on upon check in. Does not set the tone for the weekend well. Camp frequently and understand sometimes parks get busy but to never have enough staff for check in. To me first impression is a lasting impression. Adult pool area is very nice but pool needed to be skimmed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoy this location. But at $70.00 a night it's becoming prohibitive. It shows in the many empty sites that were everywhere. On the weekend and in season it should have been full. The events and the Shanty are always fun. The staff are great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This our third year here in Okeechobee. The first year we arrived we were amazed at our choice of parks and how wonderful this KOA was and how much they had to offer. This is now our third year and the price keeps going up but many of us have found that the social calendar does not have near as many activities nor entertainment as it did in the previous years. The workers in this park or wonderful and kind and the showers and washrooms are very clean. We didn't even bother going to some of the dances this year as the entertainers weren't appealing. They used to have entertainment around the pool not just on Mondays with the volunteers but on many other days and that is not the case anymore. We have had a lot of problems with the showers not working properly in the ladies washrooms on several occasions you were either getting ice cold water or scalding water. The washer in in one of the area laundry facilities was broken over 3 weeks ago and still hasn't been replaced. Many vacationers use this facility and two washers are not enough. It is a known fact that a lot of people who have been here in the park for a number of years are not coming back due to the price and attitude of some staff and lack of things that used to be. In most cases if there is a price increase you usually get more amenities but this year there is less. We are booked once again for next year but we will be checking out other possibilities. It seems to me there is a lack of consideration and responsibility there never existed before. Corporate should be checking out just how many vacationers are leaving and why. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our Cub Scout Pack camped here under the KOA Scout special of $5 per day. We had 20 people, and everyone loved it. The staff was friendly, and they gave us enough sites to comfortably put up our tents, kitchen and fire pit. The showers and bathrooms were very clean, garbage was picked up frequently, and the kids pool was great. I have stayed here many times in a cabin and my trailer, and I this is the best KOA I have ever stayed at. We camped here in a Tent.

This is a very nice park. It is one of the largest KOAs in FL, we stayed on the fourth of July weekend. I liked the fact they have 3 pools, and one for adults only. The negative was noise at night from an irrigation system. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA was great! They have golf cart rentals, golfing, swimming, (adult only pool and children's pool)and what a beautifully kept campground. The staff was top notch and could not be any friendlier. My kids got to feed some horses that were in the pasture right behind our RV. The only reason I did not rate this KOA a 10 out of 10 is because it was expensive! $65 a night was way too steep even if it was Memorial Day weekend. We would definitely return to this campground when the prices come down. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground itself is okay, the pool is nice, campers are friendly. However, when we checked into this park, which was about 60% full, we were given the absolute worst spot in the place, right at the entrance, where all rigs, cars, etc. passed by, with a view of the maintenance vehicle parking lot. We didn't take the site and when we asked for a different one, the response from the very diffident employee was that the computer just gives him the first one available. We got a better site and spent 2 okay nights but wouldn't go back because of the attitude at the desk. The park was clean, however, and generally well maintained. The area around the park was okay too. Just check the site map when you check in! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean and friendly park. We were in a pop-up and we were put right up front in between two huge motorhomes and it was very tight! We didn't have any room to let our dog out to play. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice park. The people who run it are very nice. The only negative is the extra charges they impose. Cable is $3.00 a day; Wi-Fi is $3.95 a day and if you have over two people you pay extra. That aside, the park is well kept, the pools are nice, the rest rooms are clean and well kept. The sites are not very wide and some of the back in sites are bigger than the pull through sites. But they tried very hard to accommodate me and my unit. My site was a pull through and paved and level. Had a nice patio and table. It rained fairly heavily and the site was well drained and we had no problems. The resort has a golf course and it is easy to bike to stores and places to eat. There is a nice bike trail around the lake (150 miles +) that is near by and paved. I would guess the place is a crowded from Jan - March. We camped here in a Motorhome.

KOAs continue their downward spiral with me and this place is no exception. The grounds are nice, the worker bees are nice, without all that follows I would have rated them a 9-10. Our experience, despite being only 1/4 full, they stuffed us into a backin spot that was good enough for a 25' trailer, we are in a 40', right at the entrance way, my front bumper is at the curb, my rear jacks are in the grass behind the pad, the tree behind the MH tore up the roof because it wasn't trimmed properly, the sewage run was uphill, requiring you to hand wrestle your hose, cable is $6, WiFi is pay via Nomad, great when we finally got hooked up, but the 1st day we tried and couldn't, spent an hour on the phone with Nomad tech staff, they were unable to resolve, later that evening were were told by another KOA worker bee that WiFi had been down for a few days, yet no one in the office seem to know about that when we checked in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

By far one of the nicest camp sites we have had. Of coarse you pay for what get. Level paved, nicely kept, friendly staff, easy in and out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Camped here for Father's Day weekend and they had a bunch of activities lined up. They had a Sunday morning pancake breakfast (free for Father's) and a mini-golf tournament. Unfortunately, the mini-golf tournament was on Sunday after most people left and the person running it was over 30 minutes late. This is our 3rd time coming here and never had had, a bad experience. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great destination/resort park. Stayed 5 months and were busy all the time. 9 hole golf course was great amenity. My wife's favorite RV Resort. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a big and well organised camp ground but we couldn't help finding it a bit officious for our tastes. That could be because while technically the site is family friendly (with a separate children's pool) in practice this pool is a long way from anywhere (next to the entrance) and there are no showers or changing facilities there. In contrast the adult-only pool is big and has hot tubs and a bar close by, making it a nicer place to be. So if you're child free then this site will work for you but otherwise I'd go somewhere a bit smaller with more to do nearby (rather than walk round the lake!). We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is by far the largest and most luxurious KOA we've seen. The sites surround a nine hole golf course and pond. There's a snack bar, general store, large clubhouse, Shanty Bar on the GC, and two large pools. The adult pool often has live entertainment. There is a section off by itself for park models. The campground is extremely well kept; standards are high and the rules are enforced. I would have given this a 10 if the wireless worked. Considering how WiFi is advertised on the website, this was a real letdown. Other than that, we really liked this place and will come back next year provided the WiFi is up and running. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The state of Florida is investigating Okeechobee KOA's use of unskilled labor for electric repairs. We are sending this posting as a safety information bulletin for a potential hazard to life and property that exists at Okeechobee KOA Florida. On June 4, 2004, less than 24 hours after purchasing a brand new 2004 Newmar Dutch Star Diesel Pusher 4010, our site (#419) at the KOA Okeechobee FL Kampground, experienced a power failure. The KOA Okeechobee employee who was sent to fix it mis-wired the 50-amp power pedestal and sent 220v into the RVs 110 v and 12 v systems, resulting in numerous current electrical problems with the potential for additional future electrical problems. We later learned from the General Manager that he was not an electrician, not certified in electricity or electrical repair, had not received recent training in electrical repair, and had not received any continuing education for the work he is doing. (The Okeechobee County Building Department later informed me that electrical repairs to the power box are required to be performed by a licensed electrician.) On June 5, 2004, a technician from our RV dealer told me that there had recently been 4-5 other RVs that had their electrical systems damaged by the power supply while at Okeechobee KOA. He said that the other RVs had more extensive damage than ours (including inverters, electronic equipment). We received a communication dated June 23, 2004 from Okeechobee KOA that contained a letter, an Incident Report, and a statement by the supposed electrician. The letter and Incident Report were signed by the General Manager. The 6/23/2004 communication contains admissions by the electrician and the General Manager, that the electrician had made electrical repairs to the power box that was supplying power to our RV. I then called numerous officials at Florida's Okeechobee County Building Department and Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation regarding the regulations for electricians and campgrounds. I learned the following:1. In Okeechobee County Florida, electrical repairs at RV campgrounds are required to be performed by a licensed electrician, and a permit must be obtained. 2. The state of Florida and Okeechobee County Florida have no record of him as a licensed electrician. I then filed a formal complaint with Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) in Tallahassee, FL. DBPR reviewed and analyzed my narrative and the Okeechobee KOA documents that I provided. DBPR then forwarded my complaint to the regional office for investigation. The investigation is ongoing. DBPR has informed us that the documents are "public record""not confidential". My next goal is for Okeechobee KOA to be inspected by electrical experts from Florida. The General Manager previously stated to my wife and me that the electrician had been conducting electrical repairs at the kampground for "years". When we were there, he lived at the facility in an RV and performed like "the in-house electrician". I can only imagine how many electrical code violations there must be at the facility. Our brand new RV has been so damaged by the mis-wired 220 v that it has ongoing electrical problems and guaranteed future electrical problems. We do not trust the RV anymore. We have told by our manufacturer that the warranty will not apply to electrical problems, since they know about our zapping at Okeechobee KOA. And the resale value has diminished greatly. We have attempted to notify KOA HQ several times by e-mail and phone but were referred back to Okeechobee KOA. We sent a letter to the head of KOA, but we have had no reply from him. So, what does a dissatisfied consumer do in a situation like this where KOA Okeechobee and KOA HQ both ignore us? We are posting this so that hopefully there will not be a next person in our situation. We have posted about our Okeechobee KOA experience on Woodalls Campground forum, but the posting was deleted after a few hours (KOA may be a protected advertiser). We do not know whether or not the electrician is still performing electrical repairs at Okeechobee KOA. Even if he is not, until a complete electrical inspection of the campground occurs, there may be many hidden electrical problems. Stay there at your own risk! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The folks at Okeechobee KOA are a great group of people. We stayed for four months while working in the area during what was the worst hurricane season in recent memory. And not only did they keep the park in wonderful condition, which with the damage they sustained was amazing, they did it with a smile on their face. The wi-fi system worked wonderful before the hurricanes, but after Frances we never could get it to work. Granted, it's the most expensive campground in Okeechobee, but we would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Previous comments about KOA not using a licensed electrician need to be corrected whereas the State of Florida does NOT require licensing of electricians. They did away with that a few years ago. That is why you sometimes get substandard services. My husband is an electricin in the union and that is how I know this. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Huge park with friendly staff. Located 1/4 mile from Lake Okeechobee. They have their own 9 hole golf course, tennis courts, shuffleboard, 2 pools, hot tub, basketball, bocce ball. They could use more shady sites as there are not many at all. The pools are separated by family pool and the adults only pool and hot tub area where there is a cocktail lounge. There is nothing else around the area, but a really nice campground that we will return to. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We love this place. This is what a resort should be. They sell lots, but allow transient as well. Lots of activities and dinner was great. Upscale setting, without the pretense. The staff was great and the area, well, it's Florida. The pool in December was fantastic! Look forward to returning next Christmas! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Silver Palms is about as close to perfect as one can find. Extremely clean and neat. Everything one would want in RV resort and more. If it had cable hook-up and a few more trees I would have given it a 10. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a resort not a campground. Our review reflects a "transient" view. We were missing cable TV and reliable Wi-Fi. Everything else was topnotch. The community is super friendly. And you get paved level sites, full hookup, pool, library, card room, tennis and much more. Everything is new, clean and well maintained. We would come again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an upscale five star RV Resort in every way. This resort is close to everything and has everything you can think of to do and play with here. We have been in a lot of upscale resorts across the USA and this place rates very high on our list. The bathrooms and laundry were like ones you find in a high class hotel. The owners put the money into this resort. Sad part is now the bank owns this resort but in time someone with pick it up. Site count is now 167 but will be 512 as soon as all work is completed. The other reviews are on the money, gorgeous resort full of friendly people. Resort has dinner on Saturday night and lunch by the pool at other times. The Wi-Fi system is by Tengointernet and you have five antennas in the resort, all weak, good for four hours and you pay past that point. We did not use it. Verizon cell and air card work well here as cell tower is close to resort. Gates are locked day and night and you have a code to get in. We were here on a three night come and check us out so rate was zero. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Without a doubt, the nicest RV Park we have ever stayed at. Nothing we can say bad about this park. Nicest pool and amenities we have ever seen as well. All of the lots will be sold eventually, so sites may not be available for rent in the future. The only thing that concerns us is the area of Okeechobee, FL. Once you leave this park, the only thing to do is eat out and fish. The only restaurant chains here are the fast food types and Pizza Hut. Shopping is very limited too, Wal-mart. It's about an hours drive to the ocean. It is an awesome, quiet park though. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Palms is a beautiful, new RV resort. The price quoted reflects a 3 night "come check us out" package rate. This is a resort that is well worth looking at if you are RV site shopping. They have lots for sale as well as long term rentals. All the facilities are new and fit the up scale image they want to project. The staff and other campers were very friendly and willing to answer any questions for you. Silver Palms is high up on our park choice list. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a gorgeous RV village, with large lots and awesome amenities. The park is new and has a few short-term rentals available (40), and is primarily designed for ownership or seasonal visits. The clubhouse has billiards room, card room, library, fitness center, commercial kitchen and ballroom. Laundry and showers/restrooms are clean and beautiful. Game courts are plentiful and include access to the necessary gaming tools. We would recommend this park to anyone for seasonal stay or for ownership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the first time in over 30 years I left a campground or RV park. It is really an older mobile home community where RV's are squeezed into slots that they might fit. It reminded us more of the many Alaskan campgrounds that have such small sites. We were backed up against an older manufactured home, next to another home with another fifth wheel on the other side. Being late for a ballgame in Port St. Lucie, we left after dropping our rig. When we returned, we just left. The next day we called and asked for a refund as we paid for three days. The woman at the desk became argumentative, and I was not going to spoil my own vacation for the sake of $90. I suggested she needed the money more than I did and could use it to improve the many overcroweded "campsites". We are not overly critical and have stayed in campgrounds in Alaska where we had to plug into a beauty parlor for power. At least we could walk out of the campground and enjoy the scenery. We have many friends and older children who RV around the country. This will not be on the list of recommended places We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Lot's of permanent units some that needed the bulldozer. Manager is a very nice lady easy to get along with. Tight turns in and out. Nice pool and fishing dock with cleaning area. Very peaceful at night with the sounds of local birds. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent the month of March here in a riverside site. The $23 rate is single night, non-riverside Passport America rate, we paid $715 for the month. Okeechobee has more RV resort/trailer park/campgrounds (they kind of overlap here) than anyplace in the world, I think. Most are on the rim canal around the lake; Zachary Taylor is 300 yards from the lake on Taylor Creek, and it is a gorgeous spot. It's a real bird lover's paradise with egrets, blue herons, storks, ibis, osprey, and much more. The fishing's good, either from the park's dock or from a boat. There is the typical mix of residents, snow birds, and transients. If you like to join the group for pot-luck suppers, etc. there's lots of planned activities, but we didn't join in much and everyone still seemed to have a smile for us. The manager and her staff could not be more accommodating. Even after a month I had to drag my wife away, we really loved it here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. Daily rate reflects Passport America rate. We have a semi/5th wheel rig and we were able to fit our 70 foot rig on our pull-through site. Water pressure was the best I've seen. Management very friendly and accommodating. They had a pot luck dinner the night we arrived, and then gator races (bobblehead toy gators) the second night. We had so much fun that they agreed to add a second race night that week. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park. Clean, VERY NICE BATH-HOUSES. We were close to the waterfront. Would stay again. We used the Passport America discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Passport rate of $23.50. Most sites are either permanent or seasonal. They did have quite a few available for short term stays. We had a somewhat tight pull through grassy site. Overall place is well kept. People were not all that friendly. We were between two perm/seasonal sites so I don't think they care for transients. They was a better area where the sites were all short term sites. We would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
