Nice park. Sites are not created equal, and this park fills up on the weekends. Suggest you get there early and pick your site. Manatee viewing is just 20 minutes away, and this park is very convenient to Tampa. Staff was very courteous, and we enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This a beautiful park located in the country on Tampa Bay. Sites are all level grass, but roads are paved and it is easy to get large rigs in and out. All sites back up to the river which leads to the bay. Some of the sites are easy to launch canoes or kayaks from and boat camping is also available. Shower houses are new or recently remodeled. The showers are hotter in the west campground than the east side. There is a beach area with picnic area and all sites have tables and fire rings. Great park. Rate reflex senior discount, so regular rate is $20 per night. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Very friendly. Very clean. Great layout. 1/2 hr drive to observe manatees. County park system has many other top quality parks. Close to stores and restaurants and laundromats. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Supper size County park on Tampa Bay. Roads are good asphalt. Sites are all gravel & sand mixed and have a table, fire ring, 30 amps with water. Most are close to level but pick your site with care as numbers are very short and only good for tents or popups. Lots of room from side to side with large trees on small number of sites. Fishing from your site or you can go over to the super size fishing lot and use the two boat ramps. Park has new shower/bathrooms, screen room for large groups, two fishing docks in RV side, and playground for the kids. Gates are locked from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Picnic tables all over the park with parking space. Dump station was set up in correct way. No noise or overhead lights here. DTV will pick up numbers of channels over the air. Verizon cell phone was to the top. Lots of places outside park to shop or eat out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Everything was fine here except the burrs and pine spurs all over the property. They were extremely sharp and got stuck in the dog's paws. We found that only walking the dogs on the pavement was an improvement, but not a cure-all. Human bare feet were also a no-no. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very pleasant county park in Mangrove swamp and fronting on Tampa Bay. Popular with fishermen and small boaters. Slide your canoe or kayak right into the water from your site. Sites are back in grassy. Small beach area on the bay. Piers for fishing. No-see-ums can be a pain in warm weather. Raccoons everywhere but they didn't bother anyone but the bird feeders. $10 for 55+ We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the most friendly park we have ever been in. Most of the sites are permanent park models that are well maintained. Short term visitors are made to feel very welcome. The streets are wide and paved and have street lights so you can walk in the evenings. The pool is Olympic size and has four dozen loungers and chairs around it and was well visited. There are four computers in the rec hall for public use and Wi-Fi in the rec hall as well. Cable is only available if you are staying long term and pay to have it hooked up. Our only complaint was that the nearby town doesn't have many services and it's a ten mile drive to groceries, shopping, Wal-Mart, etc. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park, that is south of the Tampa area, our rate was a PA rate, the WI-FI is very good, we were only there for two nights, but if we are ever back in that area we will stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Older park. VERY friendly management folks!!! Lots of group activities and dinners! Spent two weeks at this park. Tight for a big rig but we managed. Centrally located to where we wanted to visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A perfect park to relax. Although it's an older park with mostly full time residents, if you need a place to just "do nothing" for a while, this is it. The pool is beautiful and well maintained and the river view and gazebo are very relaxing. The laundry room is clean with an adequate number of washers and dryers. The park is located in a rural area so the drive is about 5 miles to limited restaurant choices and activities. If you want awesome Italian food try Sarducci's in Apollo Beach. If you're looking for an RV park catering to children, this is not it. We will definitely stay here again. The management is more than friendly and accommodating. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights at this park, and, frankly, that was long enough. It was poorly maintained, although not dirty. It had the feeling of a poorly kept mobile home park. Our site was must have been close to the sewer as we got a terrible sewer odor for the two days we were there. We intended to stay longer in the area, but we felt we had to move. I would definitely not recommend this park. The staff was friendly, but that didn't make up for the condition of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We visited friends here who have a park home in the park. While there are a few older, unkept park homes they look to be on the way out. The vast majority of the seasonal residents have very nice homes. The staff was friendly and helpful during our month long stay. We did not use the park's restroom facilities often but when we did they were clean and tidy. Our lot was level and the power level was excellent. Laundry was very nice. We did not have a need to utilize the WiFi. Pool was clean and nicely heated. Good restaurant nearby - try Popi's V. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is not the best place we've ever stayed, but it is better than a 1. We were given a level pull through site and had no trouble with insects. Yes, there were many permanent sites, but they were all neat and clean. I would say that it was a little pricey compared to other places we've stayed, but comparable to south Florida in the winter. Terrible management and pool policy out of the dark ages. "I will open it if I like to, and will not open if it is below 65 degrees." was the general policy. Trash pickup was terrible, and the place looks tired and well worn. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Poorly kept crowded sites, uneven, some with cement patios, others just sand, minimum grass. Big problems with sand fleas and no-see-ums as well as ants. RV sites mixed in with seasonals where ever they could put you. Recent problems with water and smell from sewer. Definitely would never return or recommend this campground. Sites have seen little attention in years. Water and electrical connections are not secured causing the water line to crack and the electrical connection to move inside the box when attempting to plug in. Sites are a mix of remaining pieces of concrete slabs, dirt, and a little shell fill. The manager did say he planned to add more ,however, this park has been rode hard, and is probably a shadow of what it used to be. The access road into the site is scary as we rode the fence on our right and I swear our outside left dual was off the rode over a pond that was three feet below. There are better places available. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They have all of the restrooms locked up as well as all of the showers. They have a swimming pool, but it is only for the use of the park managers, the fishing dock located on the little manatee river is sinking into the river, and the place is old and run down. The staff was extremely rude. I decided that it wasn't worth any money that I would have to shell out on a space. DID NOT STAY THERE. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed for month of Jan. Staff was/is very friendly and helpful. I will stay again. I found no Wi-Fi while there, however was offered cable for TV. Plan to visit again in 2009 We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent quite park. This is our second year we spent here. Nice park, activities for the adults. Park is next to a river, (Little Manatee River) also has a pond in the center of the park. Park attendant is extremely helpful, and a really nice person to deal with. I will be back here for sure... We camped here in a Motorhome.

River front campground, new owner 2005, friendly staff. Lots of items in disrepair, run down. Wireless did not reach campsite. Few other amenities. They do not encourage kids. Manager states improvements and a pool are anticipated. About half permanent or seasonal residents. I would rate it as adequate but no particular reason to return unless passing through the area. A nice small park with friendly & helpful owner. We stay here when we visit my mom in Sun City Center. Quiet and well off the highway. As others said there is no shade. Easy access with a big rig - 35' fiver and heavy duty truck. Extra charge for cable TV, but works well. Clear shot for satellite dish though. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at this park several times and it is well maintained. The owner is most positive and helpful to his guests. There are some park models. Conveniently located near I-75 and Sun City and lots of shopping. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice clean well kept small park. It is convenient to the Interstate, but far enough away that there is virtually no highway noise. Not sure it really deserves the "Resort" classification. There are a number of newer very well maintained park models around the exterior loop of the park. There is access to a small lake for fishing. The short term sites are in the middle of the park with no trees for shade. The grass sites were well maintained and very level. The laundry was clean and equipped with relatively new machines. This is a Passport America park and is a good value for the area. Located close enough to Tampa, Saint Petersburg and Sarasota for day trips to the attractions in those areas. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Above rate reflects Passport America discount. We hesitated to come to this park based on previous reviews advising of train noise and bad smells.We opted to take a chance and found neither of the above to be a problem for us. I would however recommend requesting a site towards the back of the park. We were very close to the road and road noise, particularly on the weekend from motor cycles was rather unpleasant. The park was clean, pool a good temperature and seasonal campers were friendly. We would not hesitate to return as we enjoyed our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice RV park on the river and with nice amenities. Friendly staff helped us to our site, utilities worked well, and we had a clear view for satellite. Access to and in the park was easy for our larger RV. Park was FULL during our 2 week stay, our site was small and very close to our neighbors, as we expected for south Florida during the winter. The snowbird residents were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Nice park sponsored events on a regular basis (pot-lucks, dances, golf outings, etc) and the park faculties (roads, pool, etc) were all in like new condition. There is a pretty river that runs beside the park and we were lucky to see dolphins in the evening as the tide was going out. The downside to this park, and it is a BIG downside, is the railroad that runs very close to the front of the park. And the engineers blow the train horn several times during every pass, night and day, and it is LOUD. During our 2 week stay I never got used to the train horn, it woke me up every night several times. If it weren't for the trains, this would be a perfect park. As it is, I don't know if we would stay again just because I didn't get one full nights sleep during our entire stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very well kept urban RV Park. Aside from two very important points that need to be emphasized, most of what has already been written is still true today concerning the rest of the parks offerings. If you should find when making your reservation that you will be in over flow, you might want to reconsider staying here. These spots are not much more then 15 feet from the edge of very busy SR 41, the Tamiami Trail. In addition you are not more then 50 yards from an active rail line that feeds coal to the Tampa Power Plant. And yes it runs throughout the night. In fairness when walking farther into the park it is significantly less noisy. Just don't expect not to hear these things even from the back of the park. The other issue is the effluent treatment facility in the front north side of the park. It can and has given off odors while we were here. There are also numerous signs throughout the front of the park saying that it is a effluent disposal sight. While I'm probably one of the last people you would ever call a tree hugger, I'd want to find out more before I'd feel comfortable staying here for longer periods of time. The overall facilities are otherwise wonderful and the staff and campers are all welcoming. This is one of the nicer urban parks I've stayed at. I'd have liked to stay farther back in the park to get a better feel for the overall noise level in the park. As full as this park is, however, I bet would be a rare occurrence. Very nice staff, clean campground. Good cement pad with picnic tables. Incredibly beautiful boat dock/fishing area. The seasonal campers there were friendly as well. Interior roads were good, pool looked clean. Nice access to highways to get to beaches, etc. LOVED viewing the manatees! We would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This a well maintained RV Park on the Little Manatee River, a few miles south of Ruskin, and adjacent to Highway 41. The majority of the occupants during our stay were the early Snowbirders and a few long term or seasonal residents. Everyone we met were very friendly and helpful. The staff here is accommodating and professional. We had a deluxe site and they are much more spacious than the standard sites. Our site like many other deluxe sites have a few well placed trees providing periods of partial shade. Each site has an extended concrete patio. The RV pad is grass or packed crush shell based gravel. The access lanes are paved. There is an attractive moderate size pool adjacent to a functional clubhouse. We really liked the well maintained docks because they provided us with a safe place to fish the river. Across the highway there is a rail line with activity three to four times a day. There is a rail crossing across from the RV Park so the train horn is loud. There is also, periods of traffic noise. We stayed here at the Passport America rate for five days. We would stay here, again, only at the discount rate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This clean, well-maintained park is directly off of US-41 but is not particularly close to anything. It is mostly occupied by long term rentals in well-kept units, but transients are made very welcome. The campground overlooks the Little Manattee River by way of a two-level deck with picnic tables and fishing facilities. There are long, level pull-through sites which accommodated our motorhome with car on dolly with room to spare. The interior roads are paved and our site, of crushed coral, had a concrete patio. The large clubhouse has great facilities and a large library. The only two negatives: 1)there is no on-sight campground store and the nearest Walmart and food stores are approximately 20 plus minutes away; 2)a major train line runs parallel to route 41, with several crossings near-by making you aware of the several trains per day and night passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff at Tampa South RV Resort were great, very friendly and helpful. We wanted the Passport America rate and ended up with a local rate which was even better. The sites seemed a little tight when we first looked at them, but no problem moving around with the motorhome. The sites were nice and wide which was nice since we had family visit while we were there. A lot a permanent people there, but all of the units were fairly new and kept up very nicely. They are located right on a river with a great little dock and viewing platform. Next door is a local park that offered a great place to walk our dogs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is a nice park, it isn't Fort Wilderness but it a nice place to stay. We stayed for the month of March, though most are seasonal and yearly campers. This year the monthly rate was increased by $150, to discourage people for staying such a short time I suppose. The management would like to rent out all of the sites to long term 3-6 month campers who get a better rate. We have camped here for several years and like the campground and its location. But if the rate continues to increase to penalize the short term campers, than it maybe time to look elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is on US Hwy 41 so there’s constant road noise. Very clean and maintained park. We were guided to our site and the help was appreciated since the interior roads and sites are narrow. Many permanent/seasonal residents during our stay. The permanent homes are well maintained with nice landscaping. The sites are very close together and it was crowded, as can be expected during winter in Florida, but it was a surprisingly pleasant park. Each site has a concrete pad and a large, good condition, wood picnic table. The park has very few trees so there would not be any shade in the summer. Free Wi-Fi at site with a steady connection and decent speed. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a very clean park. We spent about 5 days at this park. They have cable TV, but it is for the people who spend the winter, so each person has to call to have it started which says you'd have no cable if you were just there for a few nights. We were invited to come for a Friday night dinner at the rec hall. Apparently, this is a normal thing they do during the winter months. We didn't use the pool, but the area and pool looked very well kept. They have a lovely boat dock on the river. We'd definitely stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a very clean and well maintained park. They had both potlucks and community breakfasts during our four night stay. Boat docks and a nice picnic area with fishing was available on the river. Sites are mostly sand so you will have to deal with a little sand in your rig. Our only complaint was no cable TV We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park located near Tampa area, Bradenton, and Sarasota. We stayed here for a month and toured the beaches up and down the coast. The sites are packed sand and shell with a concrete pad for sitting. The roads are paved, it has a heated swimming pool, laundry has 5 washers and dryers in good cond. The staff is very friendly and they offer many get togethers for breakfast and entertainment. One drawback was the no see-ums that came out mostly at night when there was no wind, I guess being near the river may have something to do with this. It is a great place to stay and will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners were very nice and the clubhouse was neat and clean. Unfortunately, the grassy areas were weedy, clumpy, and needed mowing. Due to the time of year and proximity to the river, the "no-see-ums" were vicious. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Really pretty view if you get a site on the river. The pool is sparkling clean and the owners are very friendly. Having said that, we were glad to leave the sand and scrub. It got into everything. Our dogs had to be bathed twice in two days. We wouldn't go back unless there's some sodding done. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We are completing a 9 night stay here and we've thoroughly enjoyed it. If you love to fish, this is the place for you. Tampa South RV Resort is located directly on the Little Manatee River with docks available for your boats. They also have some really lovely fishing docks here with cleaning stations. The pool is lovely and kept at the perfect "walk-in" temperature. Some of the sites are snug and there are some folks here year-round, but their rigs are, for the most part all in good repair. The view is priceless. The managers are wonderfully friendly people ready to help in any way they can. The park is lighted throughout with 50amp available everywhere. I would love to stay here for a couple of months next year. We loved it here! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Passport park and very reasonable for this area. Helpful host and site guidance. Dusty and closely-spaced sites. Dumpster overflowed and close to sites. Dumpster very smelly even when empty. Required long walk to restrooms to avoid walking through sites. The campground did refund 2 of the initially-paid 5 days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
