This park only gets an 8 because of other parks we have been to. If you are over 55 you get the 18 rate. This park has a dump station that is easy in easy out. The sites are huge, walking is great and it is a very quiet park. Perfect for some down time. Easy to travel to the Manatee Viewing Center, Lipizzaner Stallion winter quarters, Ringling Museum in Sarasota and Siesta Key. Loved our stay here and would go again especially if I had a MIFI for internet. Have to have my email! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice large fairly level sites. For the most part grassy. Many sites along channel leading to Tampa Bay. Good Sprint service and local TV. Very clean. Close to lots of attractions, yet in the country. Not at all crowded. Only reason this gets a low rating are the bugs. Big bugs, swarming bugs, itty bitty biting bugs. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums left me covered with welts and miserable. Only way to see campground or beach was to go in car with windows up or very fast on a bike. Spent most of the time in the trailer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice campground outside of Tampa/St. Pete. Large, deep sites, some shady on grass (sandy where grass has died). New well kept restrooms/showers including a large private room handicap accessible room. The only drawback is no-see-ums. It was breezy so they weren't much of a problem but it is probably buggy in the rainy season due to the mangrove brush. Some sites waterfront on canals leading to bay. Great for fishing - nice boatramps. Lots of parking. Several playgrounds and small beach. A very cordial young man at the office let us select site before paying. Fee is $24/$18 for over 55. There are 2 camp areas. Water was hot enough on the east side - don't know what someone meant in a previous post. First come basis so this was a good choice for us since all the other state parks (that take reservations) in the area were full. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a big park, most of it is park models and mobile home units. There are some spots available for motorhomes and fivers. Lots to do. Nice for walking and riding bikes. The staff and residents are friendly. I stayed there one week, used the time there to scout for other places for next winter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They bill themselves as an RV resort, yet 90% of this park is for mobile homes and park models. It is also more of a retirement village than a campground. It's totally sold out to snowbirds in winter and they make a little extra money renting empty spaces out to transient RV's off season. They have ton's of activities here and the 2 clubhouses seem to have something going on every day. They have an excellent walking trail that features alligators. It's about 2 miles to a gas station and 6 miles to a grocery store or fast food. It's located close to I-75 and you can drive to St Petersburg in about 20 minutes. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice clean park, mostly permanents. Not too much to do in the area we were just passing through. Probably would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I cannot believe the previous reviews. Maybe I am just too picky, but this place is a dump. The staff was friendly and cooperative, but the place is cramped and has lots of permanent residents, which I understand this is how campgrounds survive, but the site they gave us was impossible. They misrepresented the site, saying that it was a nice back in site and they could help with getting our camper into the site. The gentleman realized that it was impossible and suggested that we disconnect our truck and then he would get some guy across the way with a short bed to back it in. The site was very narrow and the concrete pad for the picnic table made getting into the site worse. They gave us a refund and we went elsewhere. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here four nights going to and coming from the FL Keys. It is a very nice campground, with friendly staff who lead you to your site. We had a great pull-thru site both times. It is pet friendly, and we got the Good Sam rate which was 10% off the regular price. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Given the previous reviews we decided to stay here a few nights on our way further south. We were very disappointed. Yes, the folks are friendly, but the campground is run down, sites are close together and mixed among them are shabby mobile homes. There were a couple of large coaches there but, I wouldn't say they are big-rig friendly. Entrance and roads were narrow. There are no showers and although the restroom was clean, the laundry machines were dirty. You can fish the river from the campground, but there's no lake just a little pond. It's located way off the beaten path. There are nicer campgrounds easier to get to on US41. We wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, clean park. We had a large, level, grassy site with a good-sized concrete patio. Hookups were good and easily accessible. Strong 50-amp power. One of the nicest things about the park was the people. Everyone was very nice and seemed to go out of their way to make us feel at home. We only stayed for a short time (and in the summer), but I can see that this would be a nice place for a winter/seasonal stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Was more out of the way then we planned, but was very quiet and had very friendly managers. Actually my husband really liked it and said it was a place he would stay at for a few months. The people that stay here seasonally, were very nice and made us feel right at home. You are right on the Little Manatee River and our site was on a small lake. An older park but the people keep it very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites are level, but crowded. It's not very pet friendly, because they insist on dogs being taken to a poorly maintained Pet Area, which is at the park entrance, far from most of the sites. The rigs are parked nose to back end in the monthly sites, and diesel rigs are allowed to idle whenever they wish, with no notice to others with open windows. Price is reasonable for Florida, but at the expense of our health! Owner is at best dry, and fussy. Any services available are offered with a frown. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice, well maintained little park. The rate is a Passport America Rate. The owner was not happy to see me check in under PPA. Tried to sell me cable and phone. Also charged me a 3% service fee for using a debit card, the whole time badmouthing PPA. Also asked me if I would show a 5th wheel where to park as he had a dinner engagement, thought that was a little weird. Would go back, but NOT at $40 per night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice little park located adjacent to the interstate (but you will not know it). Next to a beautiful little lake the park has well kept lawns and incredibly friendly neighbors. Verizon signal is 3 bars on cell phones but EVDO is on the slow end. Shade? Don't we own RVs to have our own shade. The park is reasonably priced and provides great services in a nice package. The owner will try to nickle and dime you with extras $2 for cable $3 for electricity but with Good Sam and no cable we paid $30 per night. During peak season in Tampa that is a great rate. Laundry was $1.25 for wash and $1.25 for dry all equipment worked very well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great campground with nice roads, nice pull-through sites and only a sprinkling of permanent residents. The staff helped us greatly with a site after being disappointed with a nearby campground. The laundry room was immaculate and reasonably priced. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A friendly park right off of Rt. 41. The roads were tight, sites are close together and there is train noise, but we managed with a 42' rig. Everyone made us feel very welcomed. Some of the sites are right along the river with a great view. You cannot kayak directly from the campground, but there is great paddling right down the road. Close to produce markets and shopping. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice place. Big rig friendly NO the roads are tight and hard to maneuver backing into a site was like impossible. The staff were great and helped. First site was blocked by a car from another site. Then on to a smaller one but we made it. Just wonder how to get out. The area is nice, but a ways from shopping. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
