There are 2 loops: an older loop, where the bathroom is being remodeled right now, and a new loop. We stayed in the newer loop, which has paved roads and crushed stone at the sites, except the handicap sites which are cement. The bathroom in the new loop is new and super clean. Most sites are not level, perhaps to aid in rain run-off. Many larger motor homes have used their leveler-jacks, and their tires are completely off the ground. The older loop has compacted sand roads and sites, and that road has some major dips. Nice to have sewer at a state park. The water is good, and so is the electric hookup. The staff is super friendly, and the dunes are beautiful. The beach is 3/4 mile from the campground. We would return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is one of our favorites with a beautiful beach and rolling dunes covered with golden sea oats and sugar sand beaches. There are two loops in the park a newer one with full hookups and bathhouse and a smaller loop with a bathhouse that is being updated. One can swim, fish, boating, hike and bike at this park. There are bike trails along 30A that go into Seaside which is an adorable little town. We stayed in the smaller loop and really enjoyed it. This park has 2000 acres. The cost was around $24 for just water and electricity. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great state park on the gulf with small number of RV spots. Stayed in January, off season so it was quiet. I wonder what its like in summer though. We had a huge concrete site right next to the bath house and laundry facilities. Picked up local TV with the antenna. Everything is close by, and you can drive a half mile to the gulf beach. I would like to stay in again if return to the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It is going to be hard to find a campground with a better location than this one. It sits between the beach, a coastal lake, and the quaint town of Grayton Beach. Access to all three places is easy and fun. Nature in this area is absolutely beautiful. The park has two loops. The sites in the old loop are shorter and narrower, but are very private with large shrubbery. The sites in the new loop are mostly big rig compatible and are less private, but the landscaping is adequate and the sites are well spaced. Note that our site (#44) and a few others backing to the lake were not level and we had some issues with that. To level we needed 4" of shims and had to be so far forward that we couldn't connect to the sewer. We would choose a different site next time. Note that the site appeared to be basically level on Reserve America, but those sorts of things are tough to discern in a photo. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful quaint campground very close to the beach. We stayed in the newer loop. Some sites were concrete; however, ours was very deep gravel that sunk immediately. This was our only complaint that it was very difficult to level our coach and after more settling, leveling multiple times with rather poor results. The site was large with fire ring, picnic table & view of a lake. Full hook-up, extremely well kept campground with very nice amenities. Tremendous location on Hwy 30-A. Highly recommend this campground if you are fortunate enough to get in… We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has 2 loops - an old one without sewer connections and a newer one with sewer connections. The old loop is extremely overgrown to the extent that a motorhome will catch the vegetation on both sides going on the main road. Many of the old loop sites are an absolute nightmare to get a large rig into. We stayed at site 18 as it was listed as suited for a 40" motorhome. We got paint damage on both sides of the motorhome due to tree branches sticking out way too far. We would strongly suggest that large rigs not make use of the old loop and stick to the new loop only. We would like to come back here some day now that we know where our rig will fit in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great State Park. We stayed in the older section which has smaller sites but we backed up to the lake across from the beach. We had a great time bike riding out on 30a from Grayton west one day and then east the next. Restrooms and showers were fine but much older than most of the other parks we had stayed in. They did have a newer set of restrooms in the other section. Newer section did not have a lot of areas with shade so we were happy with our choice. We did get lots of breeze and did end up turning off our a/c one day. Roads in older section had lots of potholes mainly due to all the rain that they had had. The last day we were there they were coming around and leveling the roads out and filling in some of the holes. Rangers offered us a map of the area that showed all the grocery stores as well as local shops. We even had a Starbucks less than a half mile outside the park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Wow! What more can be said. Water and electric sites are very private, some back onto lake with view of sand dunes. Full service sites are in open area with no privacy. Restrooms were very clean. Beach was about 1/2 mile on the camp road and never crowded. Bike paths, local shops and restaurants (and a Starbucks) within a mile by car or bike. A really super park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were on site #39 in the newer loop. The only bad thing about this loop is there is very little shade available. Campground is quiet. Bathhouses were clean, with washer and dryer. Our loop had the FHU older loop is W/E only. All sites had grills and picnic tables. The ones in the newer loops cannot be moved around. There are 2 pull through sites. Rangers were nice and helpful. The ads on the campground map were extremely helpful when we needed an RV repair. Only about 5 TV stations available on digital. Area has many restaurants, stores and grocery. Beach is clean, but same as last year there is green goo in the water and this year there were lots of biting insects in the seaweed. Campsites in newer loop are gravel and in older one they are sand. Lots of sandspurs even if you walk on the concrete you will have them on your shoes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

About half the sites have sewer/50amps, and are more open than the others. As with most of Florida you have bugs, but the 1 mile of beach nulls that out. You have to drive about 1 mile to the beach area or ride your bike. No camp store but plenty of local stores and eateries. I have stayed here 5 years. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground with full hookups. Sites are reasonably sized. Bathhouses were very clean and easily accessed from all sites. There is also a washer and dryers available at the bathhouse. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful, uncrowded beach is 1/2 mile away on property. As another reviewer stated, if you have dogs, a downside was the sandspurs. They don't seem to affect short-hair dogs, but we have a Yorkie and it was a major problem no matter where we walked him (off pavement). They do have a dog area with woodchips, as another reviewer noted, however it had numerous sandspurs mixed in there also. Would also like to note that there IS NO TRAM, nor CAMP STORE (the other reviewer obviously had it confused with Topsail); however, there is bagged ice available at the check-in area and there are many stores and restaurants nearby in Watercolor and Seaside. Great value for the price. I only gave it a '9' because of the sandspurs; otherwise it was a solid '10'. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great State Park. We stayed in the newer section that has sewer hookups. Not much shade but sites were very large. Everything was very peaceful and clean. Bathhouse was also very clean. Only two negatives where there are a lot of sand spurs that the dogs get in their paws. They do have a dog area that is covered with wood chips. And the lack of TV reception. Only could pick up two channels with the antenna. The beach was beautiful and not overly populated. Will defiantly stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We love this park. Great beach, great fishing, quiet and peaceful. Sites in the old loop are separated by trees and vegetation so you don't feel like you are on top of your neighbor. The new section has been planted to achieve the same effect in the next few years. We plan to return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A GREAT campground with a terrific staff. The campground is clean and well maintained with beautiful landscaping throughout. Our site was perfect for us and our dog. Bikes are available for rent and were fun. Easy walking distance to everything. Trams are provided to and from the beach. I would have rated this a 10+ but the restrooms near our site (35) were not clean (paper on the floor). My wife went to the restrooms in the other camping area and said they are much better: so it's just the staff responsible for that bathroom. The lady who worked in the camp store was fantastic. She gave us lots of information and seemed to enjoy her job. What a breath of fresh air! We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Chose this state park based on others' reviews and was not disappointed. Registered on-line at ReserveAmerica and chose site 8 in the older of the two campgrounds. Older section has more shade and sites are somewhat secluded by trees and vegetation. The electricity in the older section is limited to 30amp service, so big rigs are assigned to the newer section which has 50amp service, sewer hookups, large concrete or gravel pads, and much less shade. The weather was cool (high 50s) during our stay, so we somewhat regretted not picking a site in the newer area with full afternoon sunshine. We preferred to use the restrooms/showers in the big rig area. Park rangers at the gate were extremely helpful and polite. The "no dogs on the beach" policy is prominently emphasized. ("No dogs" policy applies on all the nearby town beaches; only exceptions are for residents, who have to have a dog-on-the-beach permit.) Beach was wide, flat, hard-packed sand, clean, and empty of people. No surprise considering the cool weather. But beautiful sunsets every evening. Beach is a 1/3 mile easy walk from the campsites. Dogs that won't walk in the asphalt road to the beach will pick up burrs in their footpads. Not nice. There's a bike path that runs along Route 30A outside the park entrance, eight miles east and 8 miles west. Give the county and towns lots of credit for creating the bike path, which is designed more for easy meandering than for hard core racers. We would visit this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Love the old loop. Trees and bushes surround the sites so neighbors are difficult to see and hear. Loved watching the squirrels. Clean bathrooms and shower. Fun just walking to the bathhouse by walking on paths cut into the trees. No cable TV or internet. This is the park to relax for a few days. Great beach. Easy walk from the site. If you wake up before sunrise, walk to the dune lakes. The birds' songs are amazing! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped in site #47 which was a FHU PT site on the new loop. Our site was gravel and had a fixed picnic table and a combo grill/fire ring. Our particular site was quite tight with just enough room to park the RV but no real room to spread out. Sites in newer section were very unlevel most sloping toward Western Lake. Most sites in the newer loop have no shade and lack privacy. Other sites in the new loop were more generous on space. The older loop is sand based and has w/e only but includes a clothesline to hang items from. It also has more shade and privacy. The park has 1 trail which is in the day use area near the beach. There are other trails that do lead outside the park boundaries into the Washington Nature Preserve to hike or bike. Also 30A has a large paved bike trail that leads into nearby areas. Grayton Beach has a picnic area and beach and that's about it. The beach is clean and the sand is cool and white. We had some storms the week we were here and the waves were rough. There was also a green goo of seaweed floating everywhere in the water. It seemed to stick to everything. There are no shells on this beach so walking along it was comfortable. Did not have to wear water shoes to keep feet from being cut. Park beach was very uncrowded unlike public beaches east and west of park. Park also rents bikes and canoes. We saw several people paddleboarding in park so I guess they can be rented nearby. Firewood is for sale in park. Park Ranger lady was very helpful with information of the area. She also gave our child a Jr Ranger book to work on while in park. Then, awarded her pins when she completed it. Bathhouse in new section is very nice and clean but could use AC and ceiling fans. It becomes very humid when inside it. Older section has a bathhouse that needs replaced. It looks like an old construction trailer. But it does have AC and fans. ATT and Verizon phones worked fine. No Wi-Fi in park. Did not find anyplace nearby that had it either. TV reception was spotty we were able to get 2 stations most of the week. The towns of Seaside and Watercolor are about a mile away and have shopping and food. There is a nice farmer's market on Saturday mornings in Seaside. We also toured nearby wineries and tried local wines. There are 2 Publix, one in Watercolor and one on 30A about 4.5 miles away. There are Wal-Marts on 30A as well if you forget anything. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is beautiful and a nature lover's paradise. The negatives are the sites do not have many trees, not very private and the sand spurs are not pleasant for the dogs. Was $24 plus tax for water and electricity in the older loop. The newer loop cost is $30 plus tax, with full hookups and a newer bathroom, but this loop does not have much shade or privacy. We stayed in the older loop with gravel roads because these sites are smaller and we can fit with a 25 foot RV. The site we had faced the bay and you could see the dunes of the beach across from the bay. It was a beautiful site with shade, privacy, views and we really loved it. It felt like “old Florida” with the palm trees. We could walk or ride our bikes over to the beach and it was another beautiful Panhandle beach. This park is in the coastal lowlands and it has three dune lakes within the park. One wakes up to birds chirping with great sun rises and sunsets. The little town of Grayton Beach is quaint with small restaurants that have outside seating under umbrellas. There is a bike trail just outside the park going along the highway into town and beyond. We enjoyed our stay at this park and would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this park. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The facilities are ultra clean. The beach is lovely and never crowded. This is a state park not a resort so don't expect pools, grass or amenities like cable TV. If that is what you are looking for, just stay at Watercolor Inn next door. If staying here, relax and enjoy camping in the great outdoors! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The camp host was terrific and even though pets are allowed, we found most areas pets could use were covered with sand spurs. We were on a completely concrete location directly in front of the comfort station. I was less than happy with this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Wow! This park is totally suburb. Complete renovations were completed several months ago. The complete hookup sites are big rig friendly, long and wide. The sites are partially shaded to fully shaded. The roads are paved and the sites very level crushed stone. The bath houses are new, heated and air conditioned. Maintenance is exceptional. The beach is just beautiful and at sunrise and sunset is nothing short of spectacular. There are 20+ miles of paved bicycle trails and multiple local attractions and villages with excellent shopping. We stayed here several days and were sad to leave. This is one of Florida's very best State Parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park. The staff is helpful and friendly. The restrooms are immaculate. It is disappointing that they don't allow dogs on the beach at all and it is difficult to walk your dogs due to an abundance of sand spurs. I would give this park a 10 if they put in a small area with grass for dogs. We walked everywhere we visited because of the convenience of the location. It was an easy walk to the beach every morning. Watercolor, Seaside and Grayton Beach for longer afternoon walks. Our favorite place to eat is Hurricane Oyster Bar in Grayton Beach, it is good prices for great food. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are two camping sections to this park; the old which has smaller sites without 50 amp service and without sewer hookup; and the new which is full service with some concrete sites and others with gravel. Most of the sites in the new area require a good bit of leveling and most are back in. There are not a lot of bigger rig sites, so call to check. The bathrooms were clean and nice. You can go in and lock the door for a shower. The showers had short shower heads - very convenient for some. The washer and dryer were outside the bathhouse; I didn't like that, but overall the facilities were adequate, clean and accessible. The park was great for either walking or bicycling for good distances. The beach is quite a long walk, but beautiful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OMG this place is wonderful!!! Perfect: the best campground we have ever stayed at. We were in a travel trailer and stayed in the old loop they don't have full hookups but it was worth it to have all the trees and shade. (Very private.) Yes there is a lot of sand and we did see one small snake, but you are in a wooded area. We have two small dogs 5 lbs and 9 lbs and we felt safe here. The sand spurs were around but we did not see many on the camp site. So many things to do! A quick walk or ride to the beach area, which is beautiful! Hardly anyone on the beach but 3-4 families. The bathrooms were really clean and the park was spotless. Very, very nice with huge lakes and sand dunes. Beautiful sunsets. Can't say enough good things about this place. The people that work at the campground were all very friendly. Not that we saw them very much. The campground was so huge and private you hardly saw anyone. Another great thing was the location! Perfect! Nice area of town with cute stores and also 1/2 hour from Destin and 1/2 hour from Panama City. We went to both and honestly loved the Santa Rosa area the best. Visit Seaside and Watercolor. The houses and area was amazing and very quiet. The perfect vacation for a nice relaxing get away. And close enough to the bigger cities to check them out also. Would go back again and tell people to go! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for 4 nights in the newer section of the park which offers 50 amp service and sewer hookups. The older loop has only 30 amp service and no sewer hookups. Our site was concrete, very spacious, but with no grass and no shade. Immediately off of the concrete, the lots were covered in sand spurs, which made walking a dog very difficult. We asked to move to another site which offered more shade (the temps were 90 degree plus), but the park rangers said the site we wanted to move to would not be available for the entire period of our stay so we stayed put. As it turned out, that site remained empty throughout our stay. The beach area was beautiful and was a good hike (or bike ride) from our site. When walking our dog one night, we encountered a huge snake; however, we didn't hang around long enough to determine if it was venomous. The park is very near the tourist areas of Hwy 30A (i.e., Seaside, Watercolor, Grayton Beach, Blue Mountain, etc.) which offers shopping and restaurants, but are a bit pricey. There are two Publix supermarkets close by (one within 2 miles and another about 4 miles). Destin is within 20 miles and Panama City Beach approx. 30 miles from the park. We probably will not return to this park during this time of year due to the lack of shade and grass, and because of the presence of black and yellow flies. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lovely sunset on the beach, easy walk from our water/electric site in the older part of the park (no cement pad). It was level, but a tight fit for our rig. Best value on a gorgeous beach. We only stayed one night but will certainly go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the newer section with full hook ups. We moved around some because we didn't have reservations, so one site was gravel and one was concrete and they were large and private. The first night our site fronted the lake and was beautiful. There are bike rentals at the office. This is one of our favorite state parks and will go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice state park located in a very nice area of the panhandle. It is more secluded than both Henderson and Panama City State Parks. There are two loops, one of which is older with shaded, somewhat narrow 2 way sites, while the other is new, paved and all sites are open and three way. There are about five lakefront sites on the older loop. We stayed on site 18, which seemed to offer the best views out of a large back window of all the lakefront sites. The sites in the older loop are visually very private, but close to each other. They can also be challenging to get into and are not big rig friendly. We were able to get into site 18 without difficulty in a 33' fifth wheel. It is a nice site. The older loop is dusty, but if you stay on the lake side of the loop the prevailing breezes keep the dust away from you. The inside sites on the loop get lots of dust. The new loop is very nice but does not have lakefront sites: although there are a few lake view sites. All of these are three way sites with the sites themselves being crushed stone. New, nicely done with lots of room and easy access for bigger rigs. Waterfront sites get a great breeze: but I suspect the inside sites are hot. We really liked it. Was very laidback. We will be returning next year. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful SP campground with clean restrooms and friendly staff. There is a wonderful paved bike trail right from the park where we were able to easily ride 10 miles in either direction. Could walk our kayaks from our site to put-in, found kayaking interesting but somewhat limiting for us. Restaurants, groceries, laundry, etc. all close by. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park. It was our first time here and only stayed one night, but we were very impressed. The older sites do not have full hookups but are great sites with privacy and nature all around. The newer sites look larger and have full hookups that are graveled or paved. Beaches are great and we did not have a lot of time to explore but rate this park one to go to again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an outstanding State Park in a fantastic location. The park in next to the Point Washington State Forest. This combination gives you great beach and great forest to explore. Hiking and biking make for fun activities. The park is close to some of the Gulf Coasts best resorts. The shopping and eating is out of this world. The campground has two loops. The older loop, sites 1 thru 35, are water and electric. The new loop, sites 37 thru 59, are full hook up, 50 amp sites. The older sites are smaller, but shady. The newer sites are larger, but more open. We stayed in site 53 and found it fantastic. This is a must visit park! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great RV Park. Bring your bikes for the ride to the beach as it is a ways. It is one of the nicest beaches around. Put your food away at night because the raccoons will rob you blind. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The new loop is now open and is very nice. Full hook-ups too. Not much shade since they cleared out a lot of trees putting in the new sites. Nice hard surfaced road there too. However, we camped in the old loop. The no sewer hook-ups, gravel road, and some very small sites. None of this was an issue for us as we knew going in what to expect. Our popup could fit in even the smallest of sites. The sites in the old loop are gravel unless you get one of the few ADA concrete sites. The park was very quiet except for a couple people with yappying dogs. Not a huge issue though. The old loop is best suited for tents and popups and there were plenty on this trip. The only issue we had, and the reason I rated Grayton a 7, was the cleanliness of the bathhouse. Whoever was assigned to clean must not have had their heart in it. The trash was emptied daily but the sinks had the same dead bugs, spiders, and human hair in them all 3 days we were there. This was the first time we experienced this at a FL state park. However, this will not keep us from going back. The park is in a great location for biking to some of the nice local communities. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Grayton Beach State Park is definitely a Florida State Park gem in the Emerald Coast area. Conveniently located, it’s about halfway between Destin and Panama City Beach on the panhandle of Florida. The camping facilities there are less than a mile from the most pristine sand and water in Gulf. Because of the location this park is an RVers dream come true for those that love the beach. Our 3 night stay there in the end of September 2009 was terrific. Upon arrival at the park office to check-in, the Rangers/staff were very friendly and made us feel completely welcomed. Having reserved site 20 based on a recommendation I read on the internet our check-in was smooth and easy. The site was located in the older loop of the park and was very nice but I would say most nearly all the sites are as equally as nice with lots of trees and privacy. A negative on the site location is that the older loop of the park could use a little TLC. This is a heavily used park so the restrooms/showers are showing some age and wear. The interior road in the older loop is unpaved as well as the sites with the exception of the ADA pads. The newer loop is paved, sites are graveled and there they offer both 30amp and 50amp service. Now for my favorite part, the fun stuff in the area. The best part is the beach being so close and since it is a state park beach it was less crowded then the Destin and Panama City Beaches. There is a lot to do in the area from sunbathing on the beach to bike riding the local trails to kayaking on the lake. Just beware that there may be an alligator or two in the lake. I personally never saw one but it is posted. As an avid bike rider, I would like to add that the paved trails as well as the off road trails in the National Forest area are awesome here. If you come here to visit you should bring your bathing suit and beach stuff, your bike and a kayak (or rent them locally) and the desire to have a great time because at Grayton Beach State Park there is plenty of fun to be had. Great rustic park. Very nice location and can bike to Grayton Beach and Watercolors. If you haven't been to Watercolors, you owe it to yourself to take the Mrs. She will love it. Sites are secluded and shady. New section with paved sites and 50 amps just fixing to open. Great staff and more of a natural wilderness park than modern park like Topsail. I like it a lot and can't wait to go back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Each site was secluded, making it feel like you were in the coastal wilderness. Hookups were well located. Water pressure was perhaps a little high so a regulator would be a good idea. The dump station was well equipped with a clean-up hose on a reel that made the process much simpler. Some sites were a little short and some would be tight to get a bigger rig into, so some care with site selection would be advised. The staff was great. We would go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park with alot of deer roaming thru the area and sites right on the water (recommend 20). We rode our bikes around the park - really pretty. The restrooms are clean. Wow! This was an amazing campground. I loved everything about this place. It was gorgeous, clean and very charming! We camped in site number 33. This is one of the three that can be used for people with disabilities so it is all concrete and has a sidewalk directly to the restrooms. The restroom are placed in the middle of the park and there are little trails to the restrooms. Most of the sights have there own path. If you want the prettiest sight with a lake view i suggest sight 18 or 20. They were great! If you want to fish the lake there were tons of fish and the beach was just a walk a way and barely anybody there. This park comes highly recommended by me! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This was a great park! We can't wait to get back. We stayed here for a couple of days, until our trip was interrupted by Hurricane Gustav. The sites are about 3/4 of a mile off the beach, so it is a hike if you have kids, we drove. The sites only have 30 AMP services and no sewer, so if you have a long stay, reduce your water consumption. The sites are wooded, so at least you have some shade and one A/C kept our Motorhome bearable in the 96 degree days. Make sure you have room for your slides when making reservations, some of the sights were really tight, but they have many that will accommodate slides. The sights are very private. If you plan to use the public bathrooms, get a sight in the middle because they have walkways to the restroom, otherwise you have to walk around the drive to the entrance because the sites to heavily wooded to cut through anywhere. The beach is unbelievable! My boys kept thinking the white sand was snow. My youngest kept laying down in the sand because it was so soft. The water was crystal clear, it was amazing to see the fish and crab right off the shore. A man was literally catching big crabs with a hand net. This is a wonderful place to camp. It is off the beaten path, so the beach was not over crowded, or commercialized, and you really felt like you were in nature, yet all the amenities were only a short drive away. We highly recommend it!!! Lots to see and take in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our favorite kind of campground; widely separated sites with brush and tree privacy screens. Our favorite low round steel fire rings with grates. Heated bathroom. Beautiful beach. Friendly staff. Good Verizon and AT&T signals. ReserveAmerica reports several sites are too narrow for slide outs. We did a careful inspection, found nothing of the kind. Most sites can do slide out and awning, a few slide out or awning. Some sites can accommodate big rigs. Turning left out of the campground, there are two small shopping areas on the left side of the road about 1/2 mile away; one with Starbucks, the other with Another Broken Egg Cafe, an outstanding breakfast and lunch cafe which is closed on Mondays. We'll come here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites and roads are packed sand and can get messy in wet weather. The park has a very nice beach on the Gulf Of Mexico. Very nice quiet SP/CG. I liked that it only had 37 sites. Sites are partially/fully shaded but there is lots of brush separating each site -- you can't even see your neighbor. I'm not sure you could get a "big" rig in there, but I did see a 35'er diesel pusher. Plenty of room for slides/awnings, etc. Some concrete padded sites for handicap-accessible. Most sites gravel/crushed shell. Only one restroom/shower combo for all sites, but we didn't have a problem with lines. Restrooms are cleaned religiously every day from 9-10AM so don't expect to 'go' then!! Roomy showers/plenty of hot water. There is an inner loop & outer loop. Restroom is in the center, so some inner loop sites have the restroom 'paths' right next to them with lots of foot traffic going by your site. I believe those are the 'odd' numbers. Even numbers are in the outer loop, & some of those are on the inland lake on the site. We could drag our 'yak right down from our site (#16) to the water. CG is not right on the beach. 2 min. drive or 5 min. bike ride. Beach is beautiful, white sand, and turquoise water!! Lots of 'day' visitors so get to the beach to stake your spot out early !! Can bike to small town of Grayton (10 min. west) or Seaside/Watercolor (20 min. east). Both nice quaint towns. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We actually like this park better than Topsail Hill State Park (10 miles away). It is much smaller and there are no sewer hookups, but the overall feeling is much more natural. And, the rate is half what Topsail Hill charges. Sites 6-20 (even #s only)are about 20-25' from Western Lake, a natural dune lake, which are found in the Florida Panhandle and few places elsewhere in the world. A big plus to us was the fact that one could drive to the beach area and not be dependent on a scheduled shuttle. The sites are very private and nicely shaded. We saw several smaller Class "A" units here, but I expect a 40-45' unit might have a tight squeeze. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Hard to believe this is a state park. It has the amenities of a private park yet the large sites of a state park and a nice shuttle to the beach (.7 miles away). While we were here there was a resident astronomer with a daily time to use his telescope/knowledge! It is very busy, though, so make sure you have reservations - we made reservations about 2 weeks before we went and had to move each night as there were only a few available each night. Everything is clean and well-kept. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This state park is different in that it's also a "resort"! There are miles of white-sand beach (a one-mile walk from the campground, but there is a shuttle service), miles and miles of hiking trails (mixture of forest and dunes), and Lake Campbell on which to paddle and observe wildlife (rental kayaks available). The campsites are generally well spaced and most are separated from their neighbors by natural bushes and trees. Full hookups with no problems (up to 50-amp service), level concrete pads at every site (although some are starting to show their age), plenty of sites large enough for big rigs (but not all sites). Full AT&T 3G coverage. Everything is available within a short drive from the campground, from restaurants to outlets to grocery stores and more. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our second stay at Topsail and this time, our site was not as nice. We were butted up to a retention lake and surrounded by thorn bushes. The site was paved, but roots had really created serious issues in the pad. The site was full hook-up and would have been better for enjoying the outdoors had the thorn bushes not been so intrusive. The location is just off Hwy 98 & 30-A with tons of conveniences nearby. Of the state parks in the area, this campground offers the most amenities and is usually the easiest to get into. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A great place to be able to park your RV "in the woods" and have access to a beautiful beach on the Gulf. Most sites are level, have plenty of room and privacy. All utilities worked well. We found the park to be over-rated for the price. Wi-Fi is only available if you are staying near the Camp Store. Cable is great if you have kids when they are bored. We did not care for the road to the beach; the only way to access was to walk, take the tram or ride your bikes. If you are wanting to take chairs, umbrella and cooler it can be a challenge. Biking was good for rides with your kids or for seniors. Sites are a little close but most are very pretty with the foliage and trees, but the pine sap was heavy while we were there and had to be removed before we could bring the awning in. We had heavy rain one day and the street in front of several sites was completely flooded to the curb. The only way to get in or out was by our truck or bikes with the water being over our ankles. We will stay again, but we are now better prepared on what to expect. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Heaven! We were just intrigued and delighted with this place overall. It was once a private RV resort and they are still maintaining that atmosphere. The place is manicured with a regular moving schedule and workers who blow the pine needles off your concrete pad. Many sites are very private due to the landscaping between them. The back loop especially. It seems the closer you are to the pond and/or office the landscaping is more minimal and so some sites are open and/or close to others. When you reserve your site there are pictures to look at so take advantage of that. Also, plan ahead that the campground is not on the beach and the place is nature preserve. Because of this there is one road to the beach and you can walk it, bike it or take the once-hourly tram to the beach. It's a little over a 1/2 mile road so many people say you "need" a bike (walking is ok if you don't mind the distance or the heat: 10-15 minutes one way). We didn't have bikes and never felt the need to have them. We walked the trail a few times but otherwise took the tram which we found very convenient and quick. We loaded all our beach equipment on the tram and others even loaded full wagons! The campground has a rule that you are not to put any stakes in the ground because, I assume, there is a sprinkler system. We wanted to put up our screen tent but didn't due to that rule, and no one else had one up. I'm still surprised. Mosquitoes were there, not horrible, but my daughter would get bit each time she stepped out the door and the screen tent would have allowed her to eat outside. Almost exclusively the place was full of big rigs and fancy trailers. It was crazy! I can't say we ever stayed in a place where you didn't have someone's moldy, aged camper somewhere. The beach is to die for. Clear, warm water, white sand and a very unbusy beach. Pick your spot close to the boardwalk if you want some company or spread out and you can get a section all to yourself. Saw stingray, schools of fish and dolphins. It's beautiful! Bathrooms were nice, too. Clean, AC, warm water. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The only drawback is the beach is so far away you can walk, ride a bike or take the tram, we rode bikes but is was still hard to take everything you needed for the day. Wonderful state park with many things to do. There are new cabins, a new bathhouse in the tent section, and a kids club that met 3 times while we were there. One major change is that everyone now enters through the former day use entrance and you now need a code to enter the park. I would advise getting there to check in before the office closes for the day. I do wish they would run the tram later on the 4th of July. If you go to the beach to see the fireworks, it is a long and dark trip back to your campsite. Otherwise, it is a wonderful park and we will camp there again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

One of the nicest state parks I have ever visited, but very hard to get a site or several days without booking 11 months in advance. We moved several nights to string together a two week stay, but well worth it. Very different than most FL State Parks: lots of trees, shade, full hook ups, a walk/bike/tram to the beach. The beach is sugar white powder sand with water that is crystal clear. This may have originally been a commercial park, but now state owned and operated. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our first time here, and it won't be the last. We will be making reservations well in advance (needed) for choice sites next April. If you are here in the warm season, be aware that the sites on the east end of the new section, along with the sites towards the front, get full afternoon sun. With back in sites your patio awning won't shade you. Sites near the pool and little lakes are older and very condensed. Sites in the back (rear section) are better for bigger rigs, though we also like the ones from 78-84. Sites 74 and 75 are nice on the waterfront of one of the little lakes. I was able to get a wi-fi signal in both sites #81 and #119, but weaker back here in the rear section. Bathhouses are always clean and temperature controlled. Rangers are fantastic!--welcoming, helpful, and always friendly. Special thanks to one in particular for his chats with us! Beach is an easy bike ride to the boardwalk (no cars allowed). We did not use the tram system, as most just rode their bikes with little carts for their stuff or walked. The beach is downright gorgeous. We also enjoyed a bike ride to the lakes (though not sure why you can't canoe in them right now, even with canoe rentals available). We walked the long dune trail to a totally empty beach area down there, too. Very nice! Only thing I found fault with is indeed many sites have broken concrete, many burned out street lights, and too many of the people coming in to the cabins are speeding down the main roadway through the campground to get to that area. They could really use some speed bumps. Also not all campers were picking up after their dogs, and many had 3-4 dogs..not just one or two. Not the park's fault. Otherwise we had 2 weeks of pure heaven here, and can't wait to return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We would stay here again. For a great barbecue and heavenly bread pudding, try 98 Bar-B-Que, 5008 Highway 98, not far from the park, great food, great service and great ambiance. What's not to like about Topsail?! We love it! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are landscaped and maintained beautifully. Plenty of biking trails both in the park and on Hwy 30A. You can ride all the way to Grayton Beach on a separate paved bike path if you're so inclined. The road to the beach is a nice 3/4 of a mile and bicycle carts (and bicycles) are available to rent from the campground store. There's also a tram that runs hourly all day back and forth to the beach. Plenty of room on the 3.2 miles of state park beach even during spring break. As for the Wi-Fi complaint of a previous reviewer -- yes, have to be in the Wi-Fi "hot spot" area near the campground store but it's super fast and efficient. Considering this is a state park, the fact that Wi-Fi is even available is unusual! The swimming pool is small but clean. There are shuffleboard courts with equipment to use and rules posted. The laundry room is very nice with 8 top load washers, 1 commercial large load machine, 8 large dryers and a large folding table. Lots of hiking trails here too. Nearby shopping and restaurants are handy. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A great campground with a terrific staff. The campground is clean and well maintained with beautiful landscaping throughout. Our site was perfect for us and our dog. Bikes are available for rent and were fun. Easy walking distance to everything. Trams are provided to and from the beach. I would have rated this a 10+, but the restrooms near our site (35) were not always clean (paper on the floor). My wife went to the restrooms in the other camping area and said they are much better: so it's just the staff responsible for that bathroom. The lady who worked in the camp store was fantastic. She gave us lots of information and seemed to enjoy her job. What a breath of fresh air. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the prettiest parks we have stayed in. It has beautiful landscaping. It has a nice paved path to the beach and another to a small lake. Great for walking and riding bikes. There is a tram which runs every two hours which carry you to the beach. You can rent kayaks for the lake. All sites are FHU and level. Nice laundry house. Lots of campers here and not our normal type of park. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice park; we always stay there when traveling through the area. All amenities were first rate. Only negative comments involve the poor condition of some of the concrete pads and the inoperative night lighting. Otherwise a great place with lots of privacy and lots of shade. The sites are very private and all concrete. This is our 6th year to stay there and we look forward to staying here every year. We have introduced friends to this park and they have made plans to return. The maintenance is on the ball as we did not notice any areas that were left unattended. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful state park! Very clean and well planned/maintained. Had "Breakfast with the Ranger" A volunteer money raising event for the park and learned a lot about controlled burns, gopher turtles and so much more. Great paved walking/running/biking paths, fishing ponds and even trolley rides. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is very well maintained. The bathrooms were cleaned every morning. There were maintenance people who drove golf carts around a few times a day to pick up trash and paper. There is a tram that will take you to and from the beach. Its use is highly recommended. Our daughter lost her glasses at the playground. Before we knew they were gone, someone had turned them into the office. Positives: Bath houses were well located. Just a few feet from any site. Very nice beach. Nice size sites with tall pines for shade. Negatives: Backing into sites by the laundry facilities is tricky, even with a short trailer. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is only an update to my last review. Only changes we see from last year is park now has Wi-Fi at the camp store. Camp store has rocking chairs you can use. I found a 120 VAC outlet if you need one. Speed was fast at 6.5 MB down and 1.0 MB up, will work best on sites 1-56. Other sites may or may not be in range. Also works well at the club/meeting house. Talked to staff and found plans are in place to cover the hold park soon. This will be the only park in FL to get a Wi-Fi system. Camp store has a jar to help cover the cost of Wi-Fi so stop by and drop a little money in it. This park is beautiful yet, staff works hard all the time to keep it that way. Park was close to full in late Oct. Rate were due to FL seniors. It would great if all parks were as nice as this one. New small size Wal-Mart store 1 mile west of park on Hwy 98 is now open. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love this park. Brought family that had never been here and they fell in love with it. Very clean place with friendly people taking care of the campground. It is a "walk" to beach or you can catch the trolley and it is a pleasant ride. Bathhouse very clean and sites we've stayed at are clean and taken care of. Always have had shady spots. This was our second stay at Topsail. Some things haven't changed. Beautiful beach, great camp sites, friendly staff, good laundry facility. However, there are a few negatives. First, my flip flops were stolen from the boardwalk at the beach. Maybe my bad for leaving them on the boardwalk instead of taking them out on the sand, but who steals flip flops? Also, someone took our shower caddy. I left the caddy in the shower and went back for it about an hour later. It was gone. I checked everyday with the office thinking someone might return it. No luck. Again, who stills a shower caddy? Also, the bathrooms were not clean. There was seaweed stuck on the shower wall and it stayed here all week. Speaking of seaweed, it was really bad in the ocean. You can't blame the park, but be aware that seaweed may be a problem. Overall, we had a great time and are planning on returning next year. I'll keep a better watch on my flip flops and shower caddy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first stay at this park. We loved it. We brought our bikes and rode to the beach every day. It was great exercise. There is a shuttle for those who can't or don't want to bike or walk to the beach. We never rode the shuttle. The beach was wonderful. We always brought our lunch because it was too long a distance back and was very hot. Lovely grounds, quiet atmosphere, but very family and pet friendly. Had a small pool as well. Would highly recommend. We have already booked for next July 4th! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

OK, this is actually one of the best state parks I've been in. Very large and accommodating for large RV's with good power and electric. Well kept and clean. Volunteer staff were very friendly if needed. Now for a family this is a great place, has beach access (more later) small pool and lots of level roads to bike. Overall very nice. Negatives, well getting to the beach. Yes they have a Tram that takes you from the Tram Station to beach at 2 hours intervals. The distance is apx. 1/2 mile. You can walk or bike it also. Its fairly level. But you still have to get to the Tram station which has a parking lot for your vehicle. You will need to take umbrella, cooler, chairs, etc and I'd recommend planning to stay for your days interval as its just too much trouble to lug all that stuff. The distance to the beach is a real negative for us. On the plus side the beach is about 3.5 miles long, clean and nice. Kids, did I say kids. Yes this is a family oriented and accommodating. That's good for those with kids, but that being said they are all over the grounds on bikes and in the roads. I am shocked that over time some have not been injured by darting in front of autos and even RV's. Very busy park and significant traffic throughout the day and late evenings. Not good for us. Again, for a family or a few days its great, but has negatives for certain campers and pluses for others. Again for a state park it is excellent. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is the best of both worlds: beach and woods. Bike riding is wonderful: lots of roads and trails. The beach is immaculate and private. There are no homes or condos within a mile on either side. The campground and bathrooms are clean and pleasant. We stayed here Memorial Day week of '10 and for 2 weeks this Memorial Day week ('11). I would highly suggest bringing a lock for your bike if you leave it at the rack at the beach. Some have been stolen and some have been taken by accident, I'm sure. Also, I would not leave your shoes on the walkway leading to the beach. My son's were stolen. HOWEVER, I do love this place and would highly recommend it. Please note that it's a .7 mile walk to the beach (private campground road, no cars) if you do not ride the tram or rent a bike. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Park has an excellent Trailer Life Rating: in the top 1% of the nation. 154 RV sites plus tenting sites and cabins This used to be a private park before it was bought or given to the state. It has everything: full hookups, cable TV, underground water sprinklers, laundry, basketball court, swimming pool, shuffle board, club house, cabins, tenting area, camp store, playgrounds, shuttle to the beach, bike trail to the beach and their fresh water lake. The park has 1,643 acres including over 3 miles of beach, some coastal dune lakes, cypress domes, and wet prairies. Easy checkin and the person that checked us in was very nice and informative. Nice campground and we would return. This campground is big with a lot of sites and can be confusing at first, but it does have that Florida resort feel to it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this park! We enjoyed the landscaping with privacy from our neighbors. The ponds were great for fishing. There are wonderful places to walk or bike. Close to shopping and restaurants. Be prepared to walk a distance to the beach or be on time for the tram that runs every hour on the hour. Bring a wagon or cooler on wheels to take your stuff to the beach. We have been to this park several times. It is #1 in our books despite the high price. The park is kept immaculately clean and neat. The fabulous beach is accessible by foot (20 minutes) or bike (7 minutes or tram). It is close to several golf courses, loads of shopping for everything and many, many restaurants. Be sure to check out the nearby town of Seaside for shops and restaurants. The staff at this park are extremely friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Price state includes sales and local taxes. Topsail Hill continues to be our very favorite state park. The park is clean with paved streets and is both family friendly and adult friendly. The beach is beautiful and without commercialism, though this year jelly fish were problematic. This park is very Big Rig and bicycle friendly. We love its tall pines. The laundromat was clean and functional. Wi-Fi is not available, and we found ATT service to be limited as well. The pool is small but was heated this year. Just outside the park, a paved bicycle path makes riding or jogging into the village of Oceanside very pleasant. Nearby restaurant and seafood market, Goatfeathers, is our new favorite and Lucilles's Gossip Parlour, a coffee and ice cream shop, had free Wi-Fi. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall, this is a beautiful campground visually. Can't rate it any higher with the daily price and no Wi-Fi. There were SO MUCH staff, both paid and volunteer, that it seemed maybe they could save a little and provide an internet service. The tram to the beach ran every hour while we were here for 10 days and we never saw anyone on it; maybe a waste of gas? There were concrete pads at sites which were in total disrepair. I visited the laundry room twice in 10 days and there was always a few machines out of order. Would I return? Probably if passing through town. It is a gorgeous setting. After spending almost six weeks wintering at various Florida state parks in the panhandle area, we thought we should at least check out the highly praised Topsail for a few days before heading home. It is a very nice campground and we enjoyed it but it has very different feel from other Florida state parks in which we've stayed. It is definitely a resort type campground. We did a lot of riding our bicycles and walking. We checked out some of the nearby nature trails but spent most of our time on the really nice 3.5 mile private beach! Amazing to find that much private beach on the busy gulf Emerald Coast! There's a tram available for rides to the beach but we opted to ride our bikes. The laundry is one of the best state park laundries we've found! Plenty of machines, folding table, very clean and everything worked! We plan to return here with family who will rent a bungalow while we stay in our RV, but other than that, we'll probably opt for a more private and natural looking state park on most trips to the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

When I was here a year ago I had a site in new section which was a very roomy back in and really nice. This time I was given a pull through in the older section that was very treed so just had room for slides and no sat service. Stayed one night and we were very happy - the nicest Florida state park we have stayed at so far. Friendly staff, spotless park, plentiful amenities. Still some oil spill cleanup going on on the beach, but since it was January it didn't impact many people. Full hookups with CATV is surprising in a Florida state park - only thing missing was Wi-Fi. Volunteer warned us about being there during Spring Break if you don't like noise. Highly recommend the park, and we will be back - just not during Spring Break. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you have stayed at the park in awhile the entrance has changed. It is on 30A but is closer to Hwy 98. Park is great, but no Wi-Fi. AT&T and Verizon cards work well . This is beautiful facility operated by the State of Florida, and the only reason I couldn't give it a 10 was because there is no internet available. The sites have concrete pads and are comfortably spaced for a resort. I was disappointed that the small swimming pool was closed (Dec., Jan., and Feb. according to the ranger), but there were lots of walking trails and a pristine white-sand beach just a short walk away (3/4 mile). Our site had 20/30/50 amps (good power), water may have iron rust, sewer, cable TV with around 86 channels, satellite systems will not work on a lot of sites, deep and wide cement sites, plus level. Park has pull-thru and back in sites. All big rigs will find sites 101 thru 168 are more open and roads are wide here. No bad sites in this park. Number of sites need repair work due to old age. Roads are good asphalt. Playground equipment for kids and older people as well. Staff was nice at check in. You can hear road noise from Hwy 98 most of the time outside but inside it was not a problem. Verizon cell and air card work well here. Park was very clean, neat, full of large trees and plants and lots of shade to park under. Staff work hard to keep the grounds clean and nice. I checked all three restrooms/bathhouse and see all have A/C, and are very clean. Rate were half price due to FL residence. It would be nice if park had Wi-Fi but I did not down rate park due to this item. All way around this is a great park to visit. You have 168 RV sites, 34 cabins, and 22 tent sites in park and all are in different zones. Beach is all snow white sand and oil free. Great shopping plaza is close by for all your needs. Gates are locked at night. Park is very dark at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is a great park, you would think that Florida would upgrade other state parks to have full hook-ups and cable TV!! I did not give a 10 as I would like to see WiFi added throughout park. Plus, how about something for our pets. Somewhere that they can run and play without being a pain to the people that don't like pets. Fenced in area with water bowls and even an area they can get wet when it's HOT. Some pads need repair as they were cracking and falling apart, we are getting bigger and heavier RV's. As for the trails, how about collecting the pine needles that fall and get blown into the grass, and spread these on the trails? Will help for riding and walking in the sandy areas. This Florida State Park has good full hookups. If this is all you're interested in, then you will be pleased. For the park to be so big, there should be more room between campsites. The pool is tiny. It is .8 mile to bike to the beach. There is one 2 mile round trip bike trail. There are lots of hiking trails, but why not pave some of these for biking? Insects are an issue. We were here in May and we still have big welts on our legs from biting flies. Wear good insect repellent. If you make a reservation, try to get into Palm Circle. The sites are bigger and the restroom/bath-house is air-conditioned. The first bathhouse in the park is old and not air-conditioned. Beach is nice, just takes a while to get there or you can wait every hour to ride to the beach and back on a free tram that is operated by the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Exceptionally well maintained. Facilities are very clean. They even blow the pine needles from your site. Huge sites that are big enough for the largest RV's and tow vehicle. Landscaping around each site lends to privacy. There is a pool, shuffle board and ponds. The beach in this area is a pleasant walk and they do have trams you can take instead. There are deer in the park. Beaches in this area are amazing. No Wi-fi but there is a McDonalds down the road. Lots to do in the Destin area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Overall nice park clean & very well manicured. However, quite pricey for what you get. A non heated pool in November is not fun. No Wi-Fi come on people its the 21st century. Wi-Fi is available in the nearby town at Miss Lucilles for free. Oh yes they forgot to tell us that the tram to the beach goes every 2 hours not every hour as posted. We were standing there waiting for awhile. Luckily a very nice ranger gave us a ride to the beach, which is quite a distance if your disabled. The park did a very nice Halloween display for the kids and anyone else that happened by. The bike trail along the road just outside the park is amazing (about 20 miles one way). It goes through all the little villages which are very scenic. All the camping site are quite spacious with some privacy and shade. All hookups are within reach. Nice level concrete pads with enough room for tow vehicle. Staff on the most part were quite friendly. New gated system needing key entry. If you are going to be later than 6pm call ahead otherwise you won't be able to get in (no guard on duty). Laundry facilities were adequate, clean and tide. I don't think I would stay here again, I prefer Grayton State Park just down the road. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, what a wonderful state park! We give this place our highest rating. I suppose the only thing that might we might have wished for is being a little closer to the beach. As it is, you take the park's hourly tram on the .7 mile path down to the beach. It's a nice walk, but may be a bit far for those who don't wish to walk that far when and don't want to wait on the tram. There is no Wi-Fi available in the park anywhere, so getting online is out of the question. But there are otherwise full hookups. The sites are just beautiful with vegetation around most campsites to give the camper the feeling of seclusion. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We planned on staying here for one night and ended up staying for three! We are already planning our return visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our impression of this campground is the same as most others - just truly awesome. Beautiful, well run park. Efficient check in and easy access with the motorhome and tow. No Wi-Fi. This is a great RV park and value! We will return. The spaces are shaded and private. There was plenty of room for our vehicle. The space was large enough for easy in and out the slide out. There are no fire rings. We spent most of our time at the beach. They provide a free tram to and from the private beach just .7 of a mile away. We thought it was easy to load up for the day and walk to the tram stop at the top of the hour. But if you don't want to wait you can ride your bike. The walk wasn't bad if you don't have a load. We spent one day at the pool. It was clean and well maintained. The campground location is close to grocery, bars, public beaches, golf resorts, and restaurants. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park from August 27 - August 31. Overall, the park is awesome and beaches are very beautiful. The tram to the beach is a nice touch although I wish it ran every half hour instead of every hour. You can leave your beach umbrellas and chairs under the boardwalk. We left ours every day and nothing disappeared. Bathhouses are clean and had 3 stalls, 3 regular showers and 1 for the handicapped. We had a problem with a couple staying two campsites from us. They complained about everything, and I've since then sent a letter to the director of State Parks and to the Manager of Topsail. Even though I gave the Park a 9 rating, we will never go back. If you have pets, children, or like to have a good time and enjoy being outdoors after dark: stay away from this park. These people hibernate at dark and since it's more like a resort, most of the campers we encountered were sticks in the mud. Not our kind of park, maybe yours. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The site are concrete with lots of room, the trees give you some privacy, It has a bike path to the beach with tram available at top of every hour. This is our favorite RV spot! We even own a RV resort site and like this park better only because it has a lot of woods and shrub. The park is very well maintained and has an excellent crew running operations. It is state owned so though it needs to make a profit, that is not the sole motive here. If you have a big rig, try to get back into the 100 loop in back, which should be reserved for the larger rigs anyway, but it is definitely the nicest area of the park. If you are heading out to Destin, this is the place to stay. It has it's own beach, nice pool, though it needs either a 2nd pool or a larger pool, it's way too small: my only complaint! Park was very nice and clean as always. Staff very helpful. I did notice a couple of problems this trip. Emergency #s need to be given out at check-in. There was a bear (yes, I said bear) in a tree behind us and it took forever to find someone. I was told contact #s are posted in the restrooms. Most people with motorhomes use their own. The only other thing was the kids on bikes are getting out of hand. We had kids almost run into our car passing us and swerving in front of us until 1am. This is more of a parent problem than the parks but it needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt. This is still my favorite park and the new bike path to the lake was great. Can't wait to go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our first stay in the cabins, and we had a wonderful time. More cabins are being built at the park along with a tent camping area that should be finished soon. We used the restroom facilities on more than one occasion while out in the campground, and they were spotless. Campground staff was very friendly, and there were lots of things to do. What a park! Beautiful park close to it all. We really enjoyed our stay at Topsail. Short drive to Destin with plenty of activities. The tram to the beach was nice and the beach was beautiful. We found that loading up the truck and driving just a few miles down the beach to Dune Allen Beach was better than taking the tram. We parked right at the boardwalk and schlepped our goods from there. We were without the required bikes and trailers to make the 7/10 mile trek to the beach from the campground and while the tram was nice, it was a little inconvenient when traveling with a two year old. The playground was closed. But the pool was nice. The bathrooms and showers were kept spotless. The sites are neatly maintained. This park is on our short list and we will be back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Yea - clean and pristine - probably GREAT for families - but just not our 'cup of tea'. We prefer more 'nature' oriented. The sites here are REALLY close. I had a great view of my neighbors sewer hookup! I now know what an 'RV Resort' is...and won't be staying at others... We have camped at Topsail the past several years during the month of July and this still by far is our favorite place to stay. It is a former converted private resort campground and the sites are very spacious and well landscaped. The private 3 mile beach is never crowded and there is plenty of room and privacy if wanted. Our kids love this place as there is so much to see and do. Bike riding is great and the short trip to the beach area is easily covered on a bike or by taking the tram. Of all the states and campgrounds we have visited up and down the east coast, this is by far the nicest and most scenic ocean place we have been. Book early as sites are hard to come by. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Absolutely fabulous...the nicest place we will probably ever stay at! Warning...site 10 has an electric pole which also has a huge light on it that will shine all night long. We seem to be the only site in the place that had this..other sites had a nice light pole at the end of the site at the street. No biggie, but a nuisance if you want darkness at night. This is an awesome park. The sites are very well maintained. Paved pads & paved roads throughout the park. Nice pool; shuffle board & outdoor ampitheater for nighttime movies. You can either ride your bikes to the beach or you can ride the tram or you can ride your bike to the beach & throw your bike in the back of the ranger's truck and ride back from the beach on the tram. It has a very nice paved road to the beach that is only for the use of walkers, bikers & the tram. The staff is very friendly. This is a very great place to go. I love this park! Will always go there when going to Destin. It's just down the road from Destin in Santa Rosa Beach. Also, you can go out the campground entrance, cross the street and there is a nice paved bike path you can ride that takes you down into the beach community of Santa Rosa. This was our first time at Topsail, and we will return again. The sites are paved with a paved patio. There are trees around each site, providing shade and privacy. The tram service to the beach is an excellent amenity; they even allow you to put a full beach cart on the tram. The pool is very small, but we had no use for it. The beach is pristine. The rangers and volunteers definitely have the personalities to make everyone happy. The children (13, 8 and 5) were able to ride their bikes everywhere, since every road is paved. WiFi would have been nice and the fish weren't biting, but that's the end of my complaints. We have always stayed down the road directly on the Gulf, but never again! This is a deluxe campground that was in high demand in March when we stayed there. We had relatives visiting in the Destin area so we stayed for 8 days. I was able to use Reserve America to find sites but we stayed in 4 different sites over the eight days. There are two parts of the park, an older section and a newer section which was nicer. There is good shade in most of the park. The interior roads are smoothly paved and are wide enough for the biggest of Class A. There are level, concrete pads throughout the park with nice, paved patio areas in the right spots. The campground is very well maintained by a large staff of state workers and campground host volunteers. Full hook-ups plus cable TV. Heated pool and fishing pond. No WiFi. There is a 20 mile bike trail just outside the park. We would definitely come back again but make reservations in advance. The only negatives are that there is no WiFi and the daily rate is high for a long term stay of 14 days maximum. We stayed here in a 31 foot Class C motor home. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wow, this place is wonderful. Only concerns are there is no wifi available, and it just doesn't seem quite right that the state would so directly compete with private campgrounds at this level. I mean, cable TV, 50 amp service etc. I believe in keeping government in the government business, they shouldn't be running private enterprises, but, hey it is the 21st century and we are entering a new world order, so stop in and enjoy one of the best private campgrounds owned by a government. Beautifully landscaped campground with wide roads and level concrete pads. Plenty of room in our back-in site for our 40-fter with tow. Adequate buffer between sites. Wonderful walk to the beach, though a long 7/10 mi. Tram is available every couple of hours if you don't like to walk or bike. Showers could use a shelf inside the actual showerering stall for soap and shampoo, as well as more than one hook for towel and clothes. Not a 10 because no wi-fi, but certainly would return. This park is now my favorite place to go. You are out in the country, but minutes from the beach and more minutes to a large town with all the conveniences. Everything was clean--the staff was continuously paroling the property and picking things up or checking on things or removing trees, branches, etc. The tram available to go to the beach was an excellent touch, but I usually walked the 0.7 mile down there. The beach was clean and the water was the turquoise blue that I love about the area. The 5 mile nature trail was not very well marked after a certain point and I ended up going to the lake when I didn't want to, so it was a longer hike. We traded sites after one week so that we could have one with sun and the staff was accommodating, although we still had to contact Reserve America for our friend to extend his cabin stay a week--it could not be handled in the office. The volunteers we encountered were all friendly and the Saturday programs provided by knowledgeable staff were interesting. We were reprimanded for having a fire on the ground, but we learned a lesson and will buy a fire pit for the next time. I would definitely return to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground with nice large paved sites offering nice privacy. Bike riding through the park and along the .7 miles trail to the beach was very nice. The beach itself was stunning and very private. My bird feeder was picked clean every day by the wonderful variety of birds in the park. I would have given the park a 10 except for the location. Shopping and restaurants were quite a drive away, and the beach was further away than we had hoped. However, I would definitely stay here again while in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

When one hears about the wonders of Topsail, however, one might wonder if there is maybe a little too much hype. The high accolades are well deserved. Topsail is the Cadillac park with Cadillac prices. It has beauty, cleanliness, shade, great staff and volunteers, clean washrooms, close shopping, close golf, close Wi-Fi, cable TV, pool and a magnificent beach just for starters. This park never disappoints. We camp here often but wanted to post a review again. The Rangers need to be commended for their work in running this outstanding campground. We wanted to attend "Breakfast With A Ranger" Saturday morning but when we got there the place was packed. Standing room only. Seems everyone wanted to eat with a Ranger. We ended up going down the street to The Donut Hole, which is also good. Constructions is ongoing but we never heard anything. Probably not working the weekend. As always, a great time at Topsail. As others have said, this is the nicest campground we have ever seen. We camped on Palm Circle and it felt like a private cul-de-sac with beautifully landscaped sites. Sites were nicely spaced with plenty of room for big rigs and privacy. Very clean restrooms and showers. The beach didn't seem far as we biked, but the tram was also available for those who chose not to bike or walk. Staff was very friendly. Since this was our first trip to the Emerald Coast we were in awe of the sugar white sand and the crystal clear waters of the gulf. A beautifully clean campground in a state park. They are adding tent sites and a playground. Even though construction was going on every employee would stop and let the campers go first. Great place. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the nicest campgrounds we have every stayed in. Loop 101 thru 158 is the nicer side of the park. Sites are slightly larger and more private. The beach is wonderful with small crowds. On a "busy" afternoon there may have been 200 people, all within 100 yards of the boardwalk. But if you wanted to walk down the beach 200 yards you would be by yourself. Bicycles are handy and you can rent a small trailer at the office to carry your stuff to the beach. This campground is a must visit if you want to go to the beach. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a perfect campground, in our estimation. It has all of the amenities, plus the beach a bike ride away, which is totally awesome. We stayed here 2 different times for a total of 8 days on our trip to Florida from MI and had to force ourselves to leave the second time. Very clean, nice people, although we noticed the second time near the end of April that the weekend crowd is much noisier. We will plan to go back next year. Definitely the most expensive State Park I have stayed in but one of the nicest. It was once a private park and ours was surrounded by vegetation and had a park lamp which made it homey. They even allow washing on site or there is a guy that comes around with a power washer (we washed it ourselves). Nice, clean and only a short walk or bike ride to the white sand beach. Definitely a place to stay. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great place. Park was well maintained. The walk to the beach took about 15 minutes, but was pleasant, at least in December. Park staff were great. They did mention that they were going to use this park as a pilot for WIFI. We had a back in Site #57. This was convenient, but slightly difficult to back into as the site line was blocked a bit. There was a massive thunderstorm one night, but it just added to the atmosphere. Water was drained by early the next morning. There is not a lot of activity other than the beauty of the park. I look forwarding to returning, as well as trying other State Parks in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is awesome. The pine trees near (site # 36) us are about 40 foot tall. The little scrub trees are about 10 to 20 feet tall. They are scattered everywhere in this park. There is saw grass all over the place too. It is tall and green with little white flower like things sticking up from the top. Of course there are beach trees (palm). However, I do not notice that many of them. There has been loads of landscaping done around here. I even noticed a park person going around picking up dead branches. I guess they were also picking up trash too. I gather this because I have seen no trash anywhere in the park. This place is spotless. The bathhouses were in good repair and clean. The laundry facility was open and located in a good spot. There is a tram that runs every 2 hours to the beach. It is about 7 tenths of a mile to the beach if you walk it. There is a camp store that stocks the bare essentials. There is a club house that contains facilities for cook outs and family get to gathers. There is a heated pool. All the sites here are paved. The roads are all paved and in excellent repair. The concrete pads (RV’s site on) are mostly level and there is space between each of these. This park has full hook ups to include water, sewer, cable and power. Now here are the drawbacks: I have noticed no playground equipment to speak of. There is no wi-fi in the park area. The only bad sites are in the very front of the park. These sites contain little landscaping and seem to be close together. Plus, every vehicle coming and going would pass right by you. The best sites in the park are in the 100 loop. These sites are more private and have an overall better landscaping. This park also offers some of the best cabins I have ever seen. These cabins look like small homes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest parks we have stayed in. Plenty of room between the sites and easy to get into the back in sites with a big rig. We stayed in the 100 loop and it was fairly quiet. Nice bike rides to the beach and around the campground. The only negative is that there is no playground ( who needs it with a beach), and during our stay our dog was covered in ticks. Overall the campground is clean and well maintaied and the bathrooms and common areas were immaculate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is top notch!! The sites are meticulously landscaped and there are shrubs between all of the sites for privacy. Everyone here was very friendly. We rode our bikes to the beach and really enjoyed it. The cottages looked great although I didn't see the inside of one. My only complaint (if I had to have one) is that the pool was very small. It wasn't a problem when we were there in October but I could see that being a problem in the summer when the kids are out of school. I can't come back to this campground soon enough. My second visit here with my wife, two dogs and a 42' Allegro Bus. It's easy to bring the coach in and back into the slip. The park is immaculate and the people here are not only very pleasant, but they take a lot of pride in the RV park. Having been to a couple other nearby parks and now TopSail twice, TopSail will be our #1 choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed at! The facility was beautifully landscaped and very clean. We stayed at site #123 and would highly recommend any of the sites in the 100's which are in the back of the park. There are plenty of places to ride your bike either inside the park or outside on the sidewalk. There were so many breath-taking views of the Gulf from the clear blue water and white sandy beaches to the moon glowing on the waters at night. We definitely experienced God's creation at its finest. We cannot wait to return next summer! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent park. It was our first time there and we were very impressed. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Very clean and well kept. The only detriment was no internet or wi-fi available at the sites. If you are going I would recommend getting your reservation at least 4 months in advance as the park books up fast. We highly recommend Topsail Hill Preserve as a must stay, if your are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

You are close enough to Destin to visit if you want to or you can choose to stay busy at the campground. We just wish the shuttle to the beach ran every half hour instead of every hour. We love Topsail. This continues to be our favorite campground along the Gulf and maybe of all locations we have visited. Grounds are aways keep immaculate and the extra vegatation between the sites offers additional privacy. Sites are concrete and level so no side to side leveling has been required on any of the sites we have used. Bathhouses are alway clean. Campground staff are always friend and very helpful, giving directions and recommendations etc.. We have reservations for Oct 2007 as well as June 2008 already on the books. The only negative comment I have is the modem line at the club house is very slow and since there is only one it make it difficult to use it. I have heard rumor that wifi is on the drawing board and will be welcomed addition. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The only 10 I have ever given. Excellent park, nice concrete pads, fantastic landscapes, very good water pressure. We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and found it to be perfect. Warning.. Snakes were out and in full force. Several cotton mouths and 2 rattlers. Park guys said it was that time of year. Nobody was hurt, but they are scary to find in your camp. It's very hard to get reservations here, but we found that they always keep 10% available for first-come, first-serve drive-ups. That's how we got to stay a week of Memorial Day with no reservations. Topsail certainly set the bar! I had no idea a public park could be so beautiful and well maintained without charging an arm and a leg. Apparently we were fortunate to get reservations with only a month's notice. Our site #20 was small and near the alligator pond (they say he's friendly) and travel trailers fit in the small sites. When we walked through the park, I was amazed at how spacious the sites in the 100's. It was like walking in a suburban neighborhood! The biggest RV is easily accommodated and welcomed. I also loved being able to walk less than a mile to the beautiful white sand beach. If you can get reservations, you are guaranteed an amazing experience. Everything about it is top notch (including the price). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park and unusual for a state park in having full hook-ups and paved pads. About 12 of the sites back up to two of the small lakes in the park. We had site 73, which has an excellent view across the lake. We had a small alligator visit us one afternoon when we were grilling chicken; he (she?) seemed to have smelled it across the lake as he made a sharp turn and headed straight for our site. The down-side of the park is that the gorgeous beach is about 3/4 of a mile from the campsites. A shuttle runs back and forth every hour but it does force you to a schedule We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

No fire rings is a drawback. The shuffle boards were fun for the children. I would recommend the camp sites in the back of the campground. Beach access is a long walk or a tram ride every hour. This park was very nice, like a resort. The sites were spacious, paved access with very large picnic tables. Some of the sites were in the open but still had palms and other vegetation to separate them from one another. The shaded sites were a little more private. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The beach was gorgeous. It is about 3/4 mile from the campground which is accessible by foot or bike. There is also a trolley which operates every couple of hours. We biked down and hauled our paraphernalia in back packs and bike racks. On the way to the beach it is downhill so the return could get a bit warm in summer months I would think. We also biked into The Dunes, The Gulf, and toward Santa Rosa. There is a paved bike path which allows for nice riding. Lunch at Goat Feathers was great! The whole area is very pretty. We would definitely stay here again. Reservations are a necessity though! We camped here in a Motorhome.

A perfect 10. Concrete pads, landscaped sites, swimming pool, cable. These are items you would expect from a five star private resort campground. This State campground has it all. If you like bike riding, a paved bike path along higway 30A provides an excellent excuse to ride your bike each day. The ocean/gulf is .7 mile from the campground which you could walk to or take the tram that is provided. The State of Florida should be very proud of this location. This park will also allow up to sixty days to camp. The only improvement that I can see would be if the park had WI/FI. We will be back next year for a longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our third visit to this campground as it is one of our favorites. There are large sites with cement pads (was formerly a private CG). There is a trolley to the beach which is pristine. It is a beautifully paved park with miles of biking areas. Close to Destin which is filled with restaurants and things to do. We will definitely be returning to this campground. Concrete pads w/picnic tables. Full hookups with cable TV and night light at each site. Pool, game area, fishing lakes & wooded trails. It's a 7/10's of a mile walk to the beautify white sands beach. Topsail is what I wish every campground was. It has plenty to do for the kids. Shuffleboard was very popular as was the pool. There's fishing and of course the beach. You can ride your bikes along the many roads or head down to the beach. The beach is gorgeous and reminiscent of old Florida. The staff is friendly and when we had a problem they fixed it immediately. Unlike a lot of beach parks this one is in a wooded area with pine trees all around. Restrooms were clean each time. I consider myself a 'cult member' of those who like Topsail. We have stayed here numerous times over the last four year. This is our favorite campground. The beach is fantastic and NEVER crowded. We have not found another campground that is maintained better. The sites in the 100's are all landscaped and VERY well maintained. That is not to say the rest of the sites are not maintained, just that we consider the sites in the 100's nicer. There is only one site I would consider a bad site and that would be site 17 - very small. You really can't go wrong with Topsail. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We love Topsail! It's such a good campground for the children to ride bikes anywhere they want to go. Adults too! The campsites are clean and well-manicured. We loved the paved pads. We prefer the sites in the back of the park. The bathhouses were conveniently located and kept very clean. The biggest negative is the distance to the beach. I rode my bike every day, and it's about one mile to the boardwalk, and I'm not sure how long the boardwalk is, but once you make it there, it's quite a hike. There is a tram service, but it only runs on the hour (it needs to run every 30 minutes), so if you miss it, you've either got a mile hike or you wait another hour. We hauled our beach equipment to the beach on the first day and left it there safely at the end of the boardwalk for the balance of the week. If Topsail Hill was closer to the beach, it would be the ideal campground! But if your family members all have bikes, it's not that big a deal, and we will definitely go there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Yes this is a nice RV park, but it is not luxury. It is still a state park. We were very disappointed in the pool. It is small and water was always cloudy and not clear. The bathrooms by the pool were yucky. The park is nice and well manicured. The beach tram is awesome and runs every hour in the summer. The path to the beach is great for bikes. A wagon to haul stuff to the beach (attached to your bike) would be great. The laundry room is good. Many sites are landscaped and shady. If you can, do not rent sites 2 thru 7. They have almost no shade, lots of traffic and office staff all over them. We will go back but know now more what to expect. Other reviews made it out to be a real luxury type park. We have stayed in some luxury parks and this wasn't what we expected. But it is nice and definitely go if you can get a space! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park isn't our cup of tea, but I can see why folks love it. Apparently this was originally a private campground, and if we could find private campgrounds like this one, we'd be more willing to try them. Spacious sites, clean, quiet, organized, lots of activities. We played tennis which was great, as this isn't usually available in state parks. What we didn't like is the beach access. Very long hot walk if you don't bring bikes. Tram available, but running only once an hour, requires considerable attentive planning of your day. Not much fun to walk the park, and the day use area, although it borders a nature preserve, is absolutely sterile. It would be great if trails were readily available and publicized. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very clean rv "resort". I wouldn't call it a campground because of the lack of ground campfires and not having any playground equipment "except shuffle board and a basketball hoop". Besides the beach and pool there was a lack of entertainment for our 2 year old granddaughter. I would recommend Topsail, however we found that St. Andrews suited us better. We stayed in site #6, and had no shade or privacy. I would recommend any of the other loops though. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Well, I'll agree with everyone that the campground is beautiful, landscaped, and just perfect. But also very, *ummm* "sanitary". All the sites are concrete, no fire rings or built-in grills available. We stayed in the Pampas Circle loop in a travel trailer and felt like the Beverly Hillbillies with all of the fancy motorhomes surrounding us. Make no mistake about it - this is definitely a "RV Resort" in every sense of the word. Just don't confuse this with camping. On the other hand, if you use your RV as a hotel room, then this is a great place to stay while visiting the Outlet Mall (huge!) in Miramar Beach or bringing the family to the beach in the summer. We're just more into the "camping" end of things rather than the "RVing" side of the tracks. We came down for the seafood, and had some great meals: be sure to try "Pandora's" in Grayton Beach; but we were disappointed in "Goatfeathers" in Santa Rosa Beach. Plenty of great places in Destin for fresh seafood. As for the campground, we were impressed, but probably won't be back. Just not our style. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

One of the finest campgrounds my family has visited. The grounds are in top shape, with sites that are full hookup and level. Bring your bike, as there is a paved road (no private vehicles allowed) from the campground to the beach. The beach is natural and undeveloped. There are a few trails through the forest that offer nice views of the dunes, ocean, and freshwater lakes. We spent Thanksgiving week there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Extremely nice state park. The sites are concrete with blacktop drive way and very large, we have a 40 ft 5th wheel with 4 slide outs. We had no problem backing into our site and had plenty of room on both sides for the slides. They have nice pull thru sites also. The rest rooms and laundry rooms are very clean. This is the best campground we have ever camped in! The sites were very well manicured with shrubbery/trees between each site for privacy. Each site also had a small lamp post. Campground is completely level which made for excellent bike riding. I would recommend bringing bikes to ride to the beach, although there is a tram available. The beach is beautiful and not crowded! We were there over Spring Break and there were no more than 15-20 families on the beach at any given time! We had some very successful days surf fishing. Caught/released several varieties of fish. You must have a "saltwater" license to fish in the Gulf. There are plenty of activities to do in the campground. Our children (ages 10 & 8) were thoroughly entertained. The heated pool was nice but a little crowded since we were there in March and the gulf was not quite warm enough for most to swim in. There was also shuffleboard right next to the pool. There are several ponds throughout the campground for fishing (requires a fresh water license). We loved exploring the coastal dune lakes which are part of Topsail Hill State Preserve. There are 2 large ones. One had a self-guided tour complete with a brochure that you picked up at the trailhead board. You had to leave the campground and access the coastal lakes at a separate Topsail entrance off Hwy 98. We are already planning our next visit! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This CC was just excellent and a bargin at $38/night. We were there for about a week in March/05 and enjoyed the site. I think we walked to the beach once and it was about a 30 minute walk but there is a tram in season. All paived sites and well landscaped. 40' coach We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is top notch! The sites are concrete. Landscaped and shaded. A good distance
between each site. The beach is a distance to walk. There is a tram schedule to the beach. Be sure to take your bikes. You will be glad you did. We
would definitely return to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here after rave recommendations from others. They were right on. Very nice,landscaped, level sites. This is the nicest cg we have ever stayed in. The beach is a short 1/2 mile by bike or tram. The beach is beautiful and deserted. Couldn't ask for more. We will definitely return. Have already made reservations for this September. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. This has to be one of the most
beautiful cgs in the U.S. Large, level sites with shrubbery between sites for seclusion. Very well manicured, and only short bike ride to beach. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent campground -very clean and well-manicured. Has a swimming pool, tennis and shuffleboard court,& 4 lakes. It has a campers only beach path which is apprx 1/2 mile from the campground. It was a wonderful experience; we made reservations to return in mid-August. Lots to do in the area - good restaurants, a outlet mall, movies, waterpark, etc. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We love this park and are coming back this year. The bathrooms are spotless, with ceramic tile floors and walls. The private walking path to the beach is great for roller-blading and bike riding. There's also a trolly to take you to and from the beach. The beach is a protected dune area. We have a pop-up and had a wonderful time. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Fee included $2 for pet. We were there in Nov. and did not have or need a reservation.
Only there one night, reason for 9 rating is when we went to dump, the sewer was plugged. Waited for ranger; seems all the sewers in our area were plugged.
It says it happens a lot in the area. We think a discount would have been appropriate for this inconvenience. Also, they do not offer any discounts like the other state parks; and they only honor Good Sam, not FMCA etc. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This has got to be one of the best campgrounds in the entire U.S.A. It is actually a State Park sitting on 1,600 acres of prime gulf front property with about 2 miles on pristine beach. You must take a shuttle to the beach or take your car to one of several public access areas. Well manicured grounds and excellent staff. We live about 4 hrs away and go there often. We camped here in a camper.
