Some sites extremely tight and difficult to back into based on angle of approach and lush vegetation. We had a difficult time backing our 28' Airstream into a site designated 35'. Most sites are very private due to vegetation. Sites are dirt. Firepits. Water and electric only. Dump station. Beach is close walk and delightful. Bath house well maintained. Laundry equipment malfunctioned. Very quiet and comfortable setting. Dark at night. We enjoyed our stay and will likely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here the sites are for the most part secluded but are not level and very sandy. Be prepared to track sand or mud if it rains. The bathhouses are old and in need of repair but where clean. Only one trash bin in the park and its a hike if your site is in the back. The beach is beautiful with easy access and plenty of parking for both cars and RV's. I would stay here again but not sure that I'd want to stay for more than a couple of days. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a week. We have walked/drove all the camping circles and here are our Pros and Cons. Pros: Nice Beach, small store with minimal supplies, and camping loops are paved. Each site is secluded with heavy Shade, three dump sites, ample parking at the beach, and laundry at each restroom. There is windsurf, kayak, and canoe rentals available. Cons: Sites are dirt and below road level (expect mud when it rains), bathrooms old but clean and need upgrading. One bathroom services 2 loops, and could be long walk, forty campsites for each bathroom and only three stalls in each bathroom. Many sites are very narrow and there are low tree limbs in many campsites. No trash bins in the loops, no full hookup sites. The play area for children is quite a distance from campsites. Small picnic area, near the beach. You might need electrical cord extension on some sites. Site NOT level. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed a two night stay here. The campground, while large, has more tent and small camper unit spaces than larger units. Having just left Walt Disney World, driving the curvy paved roads, heavy with vegetation, was like a continuation of the Disney trip. The staff was excellent to work with. Gave lots of good information. We didn't use the CG facilities so can't comment. CG is well maintained and clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The camp rangers and camp hosts here are great, and the beach is popular. However the sand is now messed up with the recent dredge out bringing in coquina sand that covers up the former soft sugar sand. The campground (we were in Coquina loop) is starting to really show it's age. We have stayed here many times before, but things are really in need of renovations at this loop. Can deal with lack of 30 amp (though that really could be updated too), but sites really need some gravel or crushed limestone as used at many other state parks now. The dirt sites are: well dirty, and tracks everywhere. Ants are bad too. When it rains, many sites flood and become a muddy mess. Bath house was closed for 6 weeks for remodel just prior to our arrival, but no idea what they did during that time. Toilets clogged, both mens and womens hand dryers were broken (and no paper towels), plus both clothes dryers were out of service. The poor camp hosts/volunteers do everything they can, but don't have a choice when needed repairs are ignored. Even their camp cart was in dire need of repair or replacement. Street lights out at the single dumpster that serves the whole 139 space park, and also at the dump station. We will try other parks until they can get some much needed maintenance and updating done here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Anastasia State Park has a huge campground. It is a mix of RVs and tents. The park is well run. Restrooms were clean. All sites are shaded. Anastasia is an excellent base to explore St. Augustine and, of course, to use the state park's beach. Wi-Fi is available at the camp store/cafe at the beach (free). We camped here in a Tent.

We stayed in this park six years ago when we were new to RVing and rented a Class C. At that time we didn't know what we were doing. ASP was just a blurred stopover. With six years and about 50 parks behind us, we can comment much better on this park. The park is very clean with a mix of large and small sites. All sites are heavily treed which gives shade but makes one feel a bit claustrophobic. On the upside, the beach is wonderful. Olde Town in St. Augustine is a great visit. There is an excellent beach which allows dogs on Ocean Trace Rd. Camping World is about 15 minutes away. St. Augustine amphitheater, a good concert venue, is within walking distance. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campsites are very secluded since they are surrounded by a large quantity of understory. Most sites are fairly narrow so don't expect to put out your awning and spread out. I think any unit over 35' would have a very limited number of sites to fit into. Low overhead clearance is also an issue in some sites. If you have a larger unit, I would call the park directly before reserving a site. The park is in a great location since you can ride your bicycle into the town to do sightseeing. There is a beautiful sand beach which is very isolated for 2+ miles walking north from the park. Nice bathrooms and a well thought out dump station in the park. We would return here! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first stay at Anastasia. We've already made reservations for January. The campground is very nice, especially for a "beach park". Sites are deep, secluded and shady. The beach is nice. They own a ton of land. St. Augustine has a wonderful historic area. Great food! A great park! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Spent two nights at this nice campground. Good roads entering and throughout the park. Friendly staff worker at check-in. Good size site and fairly level with good water and electric hook ups. Beach was a long walk in the Florida heat so we used our bicycles. Lovely beach for swimming and we saw dolphins. Public area with store, bait, souvenirs, and snack shack were all very quaint. Our stay here was near perfect BUT I wish the park rangers would have driven around and checked on camp sites.. The one next to us looked like a little village with 2 tents, 1 large screen room, clothes lines strung on the entire perimeter from trees and about 12 people staying there. Fortunately our air conditioner drowned out any nightly noise. We would return to this nicely maintained campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The rate is Florida Senior over 65. This is an older park but is a great place to camp. You have the beach down town St Augustine a few miles away with lots of things to see if you have never been there. The sites are spaced out with under growth between them so your camp site is private from the other campers. Most sites are full shade and rest rooms are clean but old. The rest room on the loop we were on in site 109, will be closing for remodeling next month I think. So check the web site for the notes on the park as it is a long ways to the next rest room from this loop. There is Wi-Fi at the store at the beach. For the bad. Sites are dirt so you will track in your RV when it rains. There is full shade so very few sites can set up Satellite TV. The local channels are not that good of reception from Jacksonville. They are pumping sand on the beach and if you have little kids or are not strong ocean swimmers: the beach drops off fast at high tide in most places. The rangers are nice and they do work to keep the park nice, as this is a big park. We will be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A little tight getting our 37 ft motorhome in amoung the trees, but well worth it. Sandy and level sites. Lots of shade and privacy. Had some trouble with the electricity as the campground was full and our breaker kept tripping with our AC running. We called the ranger station and someone came out immediately. No trouble after that. We drove our car to the beach area as it was a little far to walk. A lot of people on bikes. The beach is great! Wide open and no buildings in sight. Each loop has a bath house with 3 showers. Nice and clean, but had to wait in line to use on women's side. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park draws you to outdoor activities - bike riding, fishing,walking, and etc. The sites are separated by natural vegetation and fairly private. Good variety of sizes to fit the need from tent to 5th wheel. There is a lot of tree coverage but did not seem to interfere with the taller rigs and they were trimming while I was there. Great farmers market at the amphitheater on Saturday morning - nice selection of vendors and typical prices. St Augustine is a short ride by car but can be reached by bicycle and is a very easy area to walk around. It is very commercialized-lots of little shops with tourist 'junk' but there are a lot of art stores with great treasures to offer. Nice variety of eateries - inexpensive to break the bank. The beach at the park was closed to swimming due to rip currents - weather didn't cooperate anyway. Facilities were always clean, staff very friendly and I hope to return again to enjoy everything to offer. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wonderful park for couples, kids, or family groups. Lots to do in the park and in St. Augustine. The showers were nice and clean and the water didn't get too hot. Very close to St. Augustine. Playgrounds were not so good. Will return. The lots are very private and you can barely see the campsite next door. Not a lot of fuel stations for diesel nearby. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great park. We rode our bikes on the beach at night with our lights. We stayed in the Coquina loop which we liked. Site was easy to get into. We biked over to the lighthouse and other areas near the park. Took our bikes into downtown St Augustine and rode around on Chrismas day. Park was quiet at night. Restrooms were older in our loop, but clean. WI-FI at beach pavillion, but not real strong. Grocery store (Publix) several miles south on A1A. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great location for visiting St. Augustine. Site was level, tricky to back-in because the site was at a right angle to the narrow road but once we were in, there was lots of plants around the site to provide privacy. Water and electrical were fine. Bathroom was nice for a state park - well maintained. Our site was .7 miles from the only dumpster. We drove to the beach but you can walk around the CG and see lots of birds. Dump station had three separate dumps which was very helpful. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is not big rig friendly. Personnel standoffish and monotone when giving information as only a bureaucrat can. The entrance to the park is tricky, we went by 1st time. It is a hard v type turn into campground area. Site 87 overgrown and we had to not only watch sides but overhead as well-I even checked roof to make sure it was not damaged when setting up. We won't come back and left 4 days early. The town great for things to do; the American Legion at foot of drawbridge has a great prime rib. It you get to Palatka go to Angels diner (oldest diner in Florida) it's great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice place to stay. You have to be careful if you drive a big rig though. The loops are narrow and have tight turns. We own a 34' 5th wheel and had a hard time backing into our assigned site. Walking around after I was done I spotted some sites which would have been much easier to get in. In fact some sites are very spacious. No trouble with low branches whatsoever. Anyway, we liked to stay here. Water and electric, no cable and Wi-Fi, but all people with laptops gathered at the beach grill to catch the Wi-Fi there. Sites offered good privacy, the bathrooms were clean and the traffic noise died down at night. We will come back in spring and stay again for a few days. Beautiful Spanish fort and historic district by the way. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground of this Florida state park is in need of a makeover. An upgrade for this aged park ought to be a priority. Big rigs beware. I would not recommend any RV rig over 38 feet to make an attempt to stay here. Every site is in a heavy wooded area with numerous tree limbs hanging low. There are many good size trees or palm trunks directly alongside the narrow access loop roads. Every site is a back-in and most are not nearly long enough for the average size RV. Just because the site length is indicated on Reserve America does not mean the rig will fit under the tree branches. Our rig is 36 feet and I'm not sure how we managed to get into our assigned site without doing any damage. This is a great place for an RV under 30 feet. The Coquina loop is the nearest one to the beach. Yet the only access to the beach was by way of a paved road to the beach day use parking area. The restrooms look 100 years old and for us not cleaned. The beach is great. The campground is well over-rated and there is little feeling of camping on the beach. We stayed just one night. If we get a smaller RV we may come back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the park for a week. Sites are very private, lots of tree so need to be careful when backing. The park is on the beach, however sites are on the parks interior. The drive to the beach is 5 minutes and a short walk if you don,t drive. They are also next to an inlet water way that joins the marina so there is kayaking and sailing available. On the same road you take to the beach. Beautiful beaches and not full of people. Park staff were very friendly and helpful. Sites were very nice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground is not right on the beach, but the beach is within walking distance.(less than 1/2 mile) Also, there is plenty of free parking at the beach, a sandwich/souvenir shop, which has free Wi-Fi 24/7, and picnic tables in a covered breezeway. There are sailboat, kayak, etc. rentals on the property. Everyone was very cordial, and helpful. A 15 minute drive will take you to downtown St. Augustine,or driving South about 20 minutes will take you to Marineland. It was an enjoyable area and campground, and we will be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stay here a few times a year.It is and older park but is very nice to bike ride, ocean swimming, kayaking, canoeing, This is a very wide and clean beach for walking, bike riding. and the park is close to sight seeing the nations oldest city. The sites are hard packed dirt and most are level with in reason. There is all most 100% shaded sites. For the bad if you use satellite TV there is about a 90% chance you will not be able to use it for the trees but there are some good TV stations from Jacksonville. Depending on what site you are on it can be a good walk to the showers. The rest rooms are old on some loops but are kept reasonably clean. As this is a busy park on the weekends. So expect the normal trash in the rest rooms. They can`t be there 24/7 to pick up everything people can drop on the floors and in the showers. Not just this campground but you wonder how some people live like pigs at home and let there kids do what ever they want to. As all ways the rangers and other people here are friendly and helpful. They go out of there way to please the guest. There is a camp store and grill at the beach with free Wi-Fi called Island Joe's. The grill is not all ways open after the summer brake. Just on weekends part of the year. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites at this park are spaced apart and nice and private. The roads in the camp ground are paved so no dust when it's dry. The sites are level and was clean. I would have scored this park a 10 but the bathrooms were never really kept clean and it looked like a hurricane when through them at times. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We make this park our first night out on our trip. A great park with lots of trees and your site is mostly private. The beach is wonderful and there is easy access to downtown St. Augustine and all the tourist attractions. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Wonderful place to stay, offers activities at the beach and in historical St. Augustine. Great for bike riding, especially at low tide on Conch Island which is a 8 mile round trip. We hardly saw another soul during our ride! The last two loops (sites 71-105) are best suited for larger campers. We stayed in site 41. We rated this a 9 due to the extreme dry conditions which added to the dusty environmental on the sandy site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I understand the popularity of this park. Sites are well separated with lots of trees. Our site was tight for us at 36ft, so it took some maneuvering. It was acceptably close to the showers, which were older but adequate and clean. The beach is wonderful, clean with lifeguards most of the day. Only lack of sewer brings down the rating, but they do have three dumps. They could have a better plan for a holiday weekend, but everything was fine by Tuesday night. There is so much to do in St. Augustine, and so many restaurants we were glad to find a good mom and pop "Seafood Kitchen" off the beaten path. Will certainly return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very excellent beach campground on Florida's Atlantic coast. Nice well-shaded sites of sand. The coquina loop seems to have larger sites and are in a beautiful area of oaks and palms. No waste on sites. The beach is nice, although a ways from the campground, and has a nice store with a free Wi-Fi hotspot. Particularly nice about the campground is the proximity to St. Augustine town with the historic building and site seeing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped here so many times by ourselves and with the kids: it is one of our favorite parks. It is a good first and last stop in Florida. This state park has 139 sites in seven loops, all with water, electricity and shade. That is why we love it! Some of the most shaded sites that we have camped in, which are a walk away from the beach. The beach is beautiful and one can kayak, fish, surf, and wind surf in the inlet. This park is an easy ten minute ride into the historic town of St. Augustine where you can visit historic sites like the fort, shop in the quaint shops and eat at a number of good restaurants many with tables outside. They now have a parking lot for RV’s a few streets back from the visitor center, which is free. We will always stop at this park when driving through Florida. That is, if the present governor doesn’t sell all the Florida State Parks like he plans on doing. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I loved this State Park! Nice big sites that are extremely clean, very private with large trees and bushes to block the view of your neighbor. We had site 138 and thought it was a great site. The loop we were in was pretty close to the beach so it was a short bike ride. The beach was clean and not crowded. We were only here overnight but would love to go back and stay longer. We were on site 76 which was plenty long enough for our 27' trailer. Width of site had slopes on the side and hardly any room once your trailer is parked. You will need plenty of cord to plug in at this site. Trees over hang your camper and if you have a slide out like we do it is hard to get around it when out due to width of site. This is perfect for two tents per site but anything bigger than a pop up you are not going to have much room. Rules said no clothes line but everyone at every site had one put up. Do not gather wood but rangers said wood at store does not burn good so everyone collects some wood. Positives, Beach is a good bike ride away but if you have a lot of stuff to set up at the beach better drive. Store staff at beach was friendly, Wi-Fi at store was very good as long as you sat close to the building. We stayed here a week of Easter, other families not as friendly as other places we have camped but we still had fun. Rode our bikes into town for Easter Parade, to the fort, and the lighthouse, all on sidewalk. Farmers Market was good and the local flea market was OK. Sites that we thought were wider and more room for a travel trailer with slide out were 38, 58, 59, 66, 69, 70, 36, 77, 80, 87, 101, 117, 123, 124, 136, 137. First two loops are for tents only. Any other site is OK if you just have a tent or a pop up camper only. We would definitely stay again but at one of the larger sites. Did not rate a 10 due to sites are most sites are tight for travel trailers bigger than 24'. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a gem. If you value privacy and the remote feel of a campground you will love this park. It offers hiking and bike trails, windsurfing, rentals, beach access. I rated this a 9 instead of a 10 as we camped here in a 35 foot motorhome and we towed a car. We were in site 82 and it was a large circular site, sandy, well groomed, with picnic bench and fire ring. Surrounded by lush vegetation. The entry was narrow and we could not open our awning. The entry roads into the various loops are over-grown and we could not enter without scratching the top of our motorhome (12 ft 7 inches). We would not camp here again for that reason. The park is well suited to smaller campers, trailers and tents. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Cheerful and helpful park staff at the front entrance made an excellent first impression. Sites are spaced far enough apart and there are many shade trees and plant growth to give the impression of seclusion. Sites are kept meticulously neat - sand was raked prior to our arrival. Restrooms were clean and unheated. Beach is within walking distance of the closest RV site cluster (Coquina). Snack bar and sundries shop at the beach was open ("Island Joe's"). No dogs allowed on the beach. Beach was exceptionally clean, wide and hard-packed. Just a handful of people at the beach when we were there on a sunny 60 degree weekday. We would definitely stay here again, but probably would avoid the high summer season and crowds. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Anastasia continues to be one of our favorite parks. Like many of the older Florida state parks, it is suffering from aging infrastructure and decreased funding and staffing. That said, the staff and volunteers do a great job of keeping it clean and enjoyable. Although it is only blocks from AIA and many stores and attractions, the park itself manages to stay secluded. Campers who enjoy Anastasia are usually, walkers, bicyclist, boaters, birders,etc. In short, people who like to enjoy the out-of-doors. We hope to stay here again and again. Didn't like it! Dark, gloomy, roads are cramped and in the boondocks. NOT beachfront: a short walk, but you don't feel like it. It's like you're in the boonies! Checked in and out in the same hour. They said no refund, but gave us one anyway. Never stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Unfortunately, I don’t agree with previous reviews of this State park. $31 a night for 30 amp electric and water is a bit expensive at a state park in my opinion. And the senior rate is for Florida residents only. Yes, the sites are rustic, fairly flat, and you will track dirt into your rig on a regular basis but the bathrooms and showers leave a lot to be desired. Yes, you can “get the job done” but it appears cleaning is minimal. Corroded sink fixtures? Why?? Dead bugs in the overhead lights (and there were a lot of them) and the trash wasn’t emptied during the three days we were there. And who’s responsible for the feral cat population? While 40 foot rigs could fit in the sites, it would be a very tight fit, especially with slide outs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Senior rate shown, tax included. Great place, great time. Free use of "Sand" wheelchair, good beach, beach or lagoon fishing, kayaking or sailing as well as surfing. Literally miles of beach to walk, a nice little store, rental kayaks, canoes and windsurfing. There are no really bad sites, although, avoid those at the head end of the loops. We were at site 58 which was huge. We were entertained Friday night by country music from the St. Augustine Amphitheatre which abuts the west property line. There is a great farmers market on Saturday just a couple hundred or so yards down a service road. Tried a new restaurant for lunch on Friday after a tour of the nearby St. Augustine Lighthouse and Museum. It was very interesting. Did not climb to the top. (The restaurant was The Conch House Resort and Marina between the park and downtown, on Salt Run lagoon near the lighthouse. Outside dining includes a dozen or so thatch huts elevated above the water, a large wood deck and both semi-indoor and indoor dining. Prices were medium.) Sites here at the park are all private and well-shaded. Some may be difficult to get a trailer into. The beach is a long walk, or short bike ride from the sites. Once here, be sure to walk the mile or so North to look across the bay at downtown St. Augustine and the Spanish fort. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Super state park, only thing that would make it better would be sewer hook ups. There is a good dump station with 3 lanes. There is Wi-Fi at the store Island Joes. Many sites are tight for big RV's. The first two loops are for tents and small RV's only. Bugs can be a problem, but this is a state park. Two week limit. Super super beach. Super clean rest room. We agree with all the previous post. Absolutely beautiful park! The campgrounds appeared to be carved out of the forest! We stayed in site #87. Very deep site, and totally covered in canopy oaks. Each site has a lot of privacy with underbrush and trees. The beach is beautiful, and a short drive from the campgrounds. There are two boardwalks to the beach from the parking lot. There is a restaurant at the beach which had some good Mahi Mahi sandwiches. The restrooms are older, but clean and easy to access. Some sites can flood when it rains, so you may need to ask which sites do that. The state employees were all very nice and helpful who we met at the campgrounds. There is a 3-lane dump station. The right lane did not have a nozzle on the end of the hose, but we just turned around and used the middle lane. It is a short drive from the campgrounds to St. Augustine. It was a wonderful first trip and we plan to go back again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the Coquina Loop, Site 130. We spent a week enjoying the park and the area. The site was fairly tight but managed to accommodate our 28ft trailer and our Excursion. The water and electric were very good. I heard from other people in our group that they had similar experiences. We did not experience a drop of rain during our week-long stay. The beach was spectacular and we were very pleased with the parking and snack bar. Since we have young children we would have benefited from cable. We brought our blue tank but never used it as the bathhouse was next door. The Bathhouse was very, very clean. The only downside was that without air conditioning, when you took a bath and toweled off, you were instantly sopping wet with perspiration. Since everyone else had similar conditions, it wasn't a big deal. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Another wonderful Florida State Park. We stayed in the Shark Eye loop, site 38, I believe. It was fairly level and easy to get in to. The sites are huge with good separation between sites. The beach was about a 5 minute bike ride away, and was never crowded. We are definitely looking forward to staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our site in the Coquina loop, #122 was raked clean by the camp hosts like a zen garden, as were all sites after each camper left. It did rain heavy after we got here, and the back of our site was like a small lake. There were other sites that were completely filled with water. Need to choose sites carefully, though they drained well by the next morning. The bathrooms were always spotless, with regular cleaning and many "spot checks" to tidy up and add tissue when needed. Thanks camp hosts! Was very quiet at night. Rangers patrol on regular basis, and we saw one police car come through also. Our site was not as private as some others, as we easily could see 7 different units in their sites near us. There are other sites that are much more private, as all of the sites in this park are very different from each other. The loops to the north were all much smaller, and I would not recommend a large rig in those. They are also quite a ways from the beach and the camp cafe/store. The coquina loop was an easy walk every morning to watch the sunrise. The beach was always clean and beautiful. Easy access to St. Augustine's touristy area, just 3 miles away. Only one thing we disliked was one camper had 5 noisy, yappy dogs. They did not bark all the time, but were quite vicious and barking during their multiple walks around the park, and any time someone would walk by their site. Did not think sites were allowed that many dogs? Otherwise, a perfect camp to enjoy life. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Didn't have a reservation but Florida SP's apparently keep some number of sites open for drive-ups. The sites were somewhat open to the sun but the view was great and kids could drive their bikes to the playground. Our entry pass also got us into the beach parking lot across the bridge which allowed us to play all afternoon on the beach for with only a 2 minute drive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were assigned to the Coquina loop and ended up in a site that was well shaded and reasonably private due to surrounding foliage. We needed to carefully watch the live oaks when backing into the site to avoid damage to the motorhome. We were able to set up the satellite TV tripod in the trees. The sites in other loops seemed better suited to tents or small RVs. No sewer hookups, but the three lane dumping station was a pleasure to use. The campground is only about 2 miles from St. Augustine. The history of St. Augustine is fascinating; we recommend the Castillo San Marco and the former hotels downtown, now converted to City Hall and Flagler College. Walking on the streets closed off to vehicles was enjoyable. We'd stay at this campground again when visiting St. Augustine. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the Coquina loop: the sites are sandy and well shaded. There were lots of Live-oaks hung with Spanish moss. We had to watch out for the numerous tree trunks and overhanging branches when backing in our fifth-wheel, but the site was roomy and had enough length and width to easily accommodate the RV and pick-up. There was never a wait at the three-lane dump station. The bath house was conveniently located in the center of the loop. It tended to be sandy but it was cleaned on a regular basis. Three stalls and showers (one handicap accessible) plus several sinks were basic but sufficient. There were also two washers and dryers and a laundry sink outside the bath house. They had recycling bins next to the dumpster just outside the loop. The camp store had some limited supplies, a Wi-Fi area and a book exchange. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The second time camping here, previously reviewed July 2007. Had site #123 in Coquina loop which is across the road from other 6 loops, so it's much quieter. Loop has a small playground in it with swings only. Bath house is older but it was clean. 30 amp sites only, very shady. We were there on holiday weekend and it was quiet. Rangers did patrol about every hour. Beach was not crowded and had lifeguards. Store was adequate (had ice cream). Can rent surfboards, catamarans, kayaks, etc. on Salt Run. Hiking trail was very short but shady. Biking is good. Lots to do in St. Augustine. Went to Farmer's Market on Saturday which is outside back gate of park. Wi-Fi is available at Island Joe's. Only problem encountered was people who would leave their dogs tied out day and night. It caused a ruckus at 4am with their barking. Ranger came by next day to let them know they need to respect quiet hours: no more problems. Last time we camped here the water was nasty but no problem with it this time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is for Florida seniors (50% off). This is a large park with many different sized (mostly sandy) sites. We were on site 53 which is huge, private, and paved with good Dish satellite and Verizon wireless reception. Beautiful beach, fishing, bike riding and walking, very close to Ancient City, with a grocery and dollar store nearby. Many fine restaurants are available. If you can, do a drive through first and check out the sites ahead of time. We'll return. Plan ahead as this park stays booked up. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed only 1 day, but wish we could have stayed longer. This is a great state park campground with very private wooded sites that fairly spacious. Park is very quiet and an easy bike ride (it'll feel longer if you walk) from most sites to a beautiful Atlantic Ocean beach. There is a small shop with limited supplies and a small lunch stand for the beach. Only downside - be sure to have insect repellent (like for most FL parks). We highly recommend this park. OK, so what's with the entrance gate? If you have a class A and try to get thru there, you might break a mirror off doing so...ridiculous! The gate needs to be modified to accommodate big rigs, this is not 1960! Park was nice, but rained the entire time we were there. The sites are back in only and are hard to do unless you have help and the campers across from you move their vehicles. The bathrooms need updating. Be sure to bring a bike or scooter, the beach is a nice walk away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is our second visit to this park... We find it to be one of the most beautiful of the Florida State Parks. The only reason that I would not give it a 10 is because the restrooms have a ceiling fan on at all times and keep the area VERY cold. Since the weather for February was unusually cold, it was not the best spot to take a shower. Everything though was kept very clean and well maintained. We will definitely return. Beautiful park. My only complaint was that the bathrooms had no heat and no glass windows, only screens on the window. It happened to be unusually cold (27 degrees) and it was difficult to get out of the warm shower into a cold room. I am looking forward to going again in warm weather. A nice state park that is well maintained. The sites were good size, but is a very fine sand. A rainy night made quite a mess. The dump station had three lanes and was well designed. A negative about the showers were that the top four feet of the outside wall of the shower room was open screen. It made for a quite chilly shower experience in 40 degree weather. Anastasia is probably the nicest park we've stayed in. The areas are not that large, but the sites are well separated by the vegetation. There's plenty of privacy here. The staff of the park was very friendly, and as soon as a camper left there was someone on the site cleaning and raking for the next camper. It was very windy the night we stayed, but the campground just had a light breeze due to the shelter provided by the trees. We will definitely come back here! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We camped in the Angel Wing section the first two nights and Coquina section the rest of our stay. Both were very spacious and the campground its self was very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the camp store had anything you could want, even souvenirs. Even though you are in the middle of town you hear no traffic, just the sound of the ocean in the distance. The only drawback was that dogs aren't allowed on the beach and since we had a Labrador with us we had to go outside the park to let him swim. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a very nice park and the rangers are very friendly. We had trouble with our 30 amp plug as who every was there last had burnt it up. They went out of there way to get it fixed. Even after I told them I could get by with the 20 amp. They have Wi-Fi at Land Joe's at the beach. The grill is only open on week ends this time of year but the little store is open every day. Some sights may not fit your rig if a high fifth wheel on motor home due to low limbs even if sight is long enough for you. Rest rooms and showers are very clean as is the camp ground and park. This is a beautiful park to stay in. The trees could pose a problem in getting in to some campsites, but if you choose your spot carefully you should be ok. Our 34 foot 5th wheel fit into our spot on Shark's Eye very nicely. The beach area was wonderful, and the internet access at Island Joe's was fast and a pleasant surprise. Reservations are needed even though there were sites open when we were there but on the weekend the ranger said they are full. I love this campground. It has a beautiful beach, a wind surfing and surfing section, boat rentals, picnic area, a snack bar and a hot spot for Wifi at Island Joe’s 24-7. Bikers can also bike around all the loops in the campground as well as on bike trails along the main road. In the campground there are playgrounds, hot showers, electricity and a pathway to the campfire circle. There are 139 sites and every restroom also has laundry facilities.. There is a bedtime lending library for ages four to nine. All the sites are nice with a lot of shade and over the years I have stayed in almost all of them but have not been back in over twelve years. I would choose the Coquina loop if you could. It is the closest loop to the beach so has the coolest breeze and if riding your bikes to the beach it cuts your distance down by over half than from some of the other loops. The rangers were nice when checking in. The only problem that we had was finding the right road to turn in to – there are signs but deceiving. We turned into the lighthouse road twice before we got the right road. It is near Historic St. Augustine which is one of my favorites places to visit with a fort, mission and quaint downtown. Definitely one of the best little towns in Florida but it has changed in twelve years and has the traffic and sprawl with it! The beach is great with waves that are very strong. We drove around all over and this town is no longer RV friendly. Therefore we got the heck out of there and I don’t think we will ever be back. Too bad – it was my grandparents favorite city in Florida and we always stopped there on our way down from Rhode Island. Not any more I guess they don’t want or need campers! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice state park campground. The sites are very wooded, shady and well maintained. The campground roads have all been paved in recent years which is good in the rainy seasons as they often used to get muddy. The beach is within biking/hiking distance and is large and beautiful. You can not drive your vehicle onto the beach. There is a large parking lot next to the beach and you have to carry all your chairs and supplies in. You can walk a short distance or as far as your legs will take you to get away from the crowds if that is what you want. As in all Florida state parks no alcohol is permitted and any glass on the beach can result is a fine. You will need to book months in advance to get a site during the summer unless you get lucky and grab a late cancellation. Enjoy. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is the "real Florida". Beautiful foliage between the sites makes it feel like a tropical paradise. Where else can you stay within walking distance to the beach, kayaking, biking and walking trails? The TV reception was good enough to keep two teenage boys happy when they weren't fishing, kayaking or sightseeing. The park is conveniently located near old town St. Augustine so if you aren't towing you can use "the beach bus". It did rain heavily but our site drained well so we did not have a problem getting out. This is our second time here and we will be back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a beautiful campground with so much to do and explore. I usually reserve my 10's for a place with sewer hook ups, but this placed excelled in so many ways, I had to bend the rules. When we first got to our site, it was cleaned and raked smooth. We were close to the bath house and it was your typical Florida State Park bath house that is open at the top so it can be very chilly in the winter to shower. There is a camp store and a walk up grill right in front of the beach area with VERY friendly people working there and very good food. The grill is only open on the weekends in the winter. There is a windsurfing area, canoe and kayak area, many pavilions for picnics, playgrounds throughout, a fishing area, a long boardwalk to the beach, an overlook to the beach, a fishing area with a fish cleaning table, a nature trail through ancient sand dunes, a coquina quarry, I could go on and on. On Saturday there is a farmers market in the amphitheater behind the CG. If you go, you must buy a cinnamon roll with powdered sugar on top. It was the best! There was a fishmonger there with fresh local seafood and plenty of beautiful produce at a few stands. The only thing I wish is that we had stayed longer. Even the Volunteer work campers are extremely friendly. This is a very large state park that is spread out, so I would definitely recommend bringing a bike to get around. Go to O'Steen's Restaurant up the Anastasia Blvd. (out of the CG and to the right) for really good fried shrimp and southern vittles. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This was our first time at this campground. We were in site 123 nice deep site and we had plenty of side room to use as well, we have a 36 ft MH with slides on both sides. Sites all have 20/30 amp and water h/u. Fire rings with grills attached and a picnic table on each site. Sites were either sandy or some gravel. Plenty of shade and vegetation. Playgrounds need updated, all of them had only 2 baby swings and 2 regular swings, nothing else. Bathhouses were clean but old. Plenty of hot water when we used them. Bugs were out in full force but that is FL in the summer. Beach was very clean and had lifeguards. You could bike or take a car to beach. Board walk from parking lot took about 5 minutes to water. Beach not very crowded in state park area on weekend. Public access further down at pier. Park had rental concessionaires for canoes, kayaks, windsurfing, surfboards, boogie boards, etc. Small store on premises (ice cream), and snack shop next door. WiFi offered at Island Joe's as well as pay phone modem. No wait at dump station as they have a triple access to dump. There is also a farmer's market on Saturday's at the St. Augustine Amphitheater at 8:30 am on A1A. They also show the play Cross and Sword every night. We will be back again. After reading all the reviews, I was ready to see a really great campground. What I saw was a nice campground. The sites are tight and not easy to get in with a 34 foot motorhome. After I got in site 80, I found out that the electric was at one end of the site and the water at the other. If I got close enough to the electric I was right at the front of the site and could not open the door or awning. If I got in the center, I could not hook up electricity. I checked at the camp store and they suggested a 16 guage extension cord, I was not really sure that would handle 30 amps. So I was able to move to another site. Site 84 was a really tight squeeze. Lots of overhanging limbs and trees at angles into the site. But by taking it slow and having some help I was able to get in the site. Now everyone has touted the beach here. The only problem is the beach is about a mile or so from the campground and then you have to hike over a boardwalk for about another 1/2 mile. When it is 98 degrees this is a chore! But the beach is very nice once you get there. There appear to be a lot of things to do here-- they rent almost any kind of water toy you might want. There are some bike paths and it is very close to downtown St.Augustine. I think the campground needs updating and you have to be careful booking your site. It does not have sewer, but does have a very large dump station. Lots to do, but not close to the beach! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was one of our favorite campgrounds. We were in a travel trailer in the Shark Eye loop. The sites are wooded for privacy. No lines are allowed tied to trees. We arrived just when the fire restriction was lifted, so we had a nice campfire. The beach is nearby and beautiful during the day and night for moonlight strolls. The salt run is a good fishing spot and the kids enjoyed running after the hundreds of tiny crabs that live in holes in the ground there. Historic St Augustine is nearby...the negative thing we experienced was the busy bathrooms and lack of hot water...I guess we were there at a busy time, but this being the last stop of our 21 day 6 state camping adventure, it was the first time it happened. Anyway the water was lukewarm not cold so it wasn't horrible. We still loved this place so much we are talking when we will go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We used Reserve America (RA) to reserve our site (62). The site was a lot bigger than we needed. RA did a good job matching RV size to sites. We enjoyed the park. The staff was very nice. Rangers drove though many times a day to check on facilities and campers. The one drawback to this park was the packed dirt sites. We had a heavy rain on our first day and there was a stream under our travel trailer. They good news was that the water was soaked into the ground by the next morning. We highly recommend this park for visiting St. Augustine. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great CG very close to the historic city of St. Augustine, and also to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. The sites in the Coquina loop are closest to the beach but it's still a little walk, but you can park in the day use lot and then walk across the lovely boardwalk to the beach. Very nice long beach, great for walks and for playing in the water. Overall, a very nice place to spend a night or two, the only thing we found difficult was the fact that the entrance to the park was a tight fit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nicely shaded sites with a good bit of jungle between them making for great privacy. We stayed in the Coquina Loop which had a centrally located bathhouse that was convenient and clean. The mosquitos were very light late April but the water was too cold to swim (to us). Beautiful beach with fluffy white sand was a hike with chairs and stuff, better with a bike or easiest by car. Playground was dated but safe with baby swings available. 5 minutes from town. Highly recommend. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

One of the most surprising places to visit. If you have a trailer don't park near the top of the loops...small sites. It seemed like there were only a small group of people allowed on the beach. Space goes fast so reserve your spots. It you don't need to go into historic St. Augustine go south and west to get out to Rt 1 and you miss most of the tourist traffic. We camped here in a Tent.

This park is in some very dense woods and very secluded from the nearby town. The beach is only about 1/4 mile from the campground and there is a lighthouse close by. The campsites are compact dirt and most are under a canopy of dense trees. There are three reasons I not give this park a higher rating than a 6. First, the mosquitoes were bad. Second, the mosquitoes were really bad. Third, the mosquitoes were terrible. If you go here, take several bottles of Off. We went in mid October and the temperatures were fairly cool. One of the park T-shirts features pictures of two large mosquitoes. That should have been an indicator of what we were about to experience. The park was very quiet and the park staff nice. Finally, did I mention the mosquitoes were bad. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed there in 01 & 03. The beaches were great and big. They had a problem with the rainwater drainage in a lot of the sites. The first time in 01, when it rained, we had a lake for a front yard for a day an a half. Finally I got my shovel out and dug a trench down the side of the RV so the water could drain away. The 2nd. time we looked for a site with a mound in the center so it would drain itself. It's a nice place, but the beach is a little to far to walk, so you have to drive over about 1/4 to a 1/2 mile. We will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very quiet and secluded campground, if it had sewer is would be perfect. You can drive or walk to the beach or to the fishing area. They have bike rentals as well as fishing gear and canoes for rent. My only problem was trying to open the combination lock in the dark for after hours access. You need a flashlight. About 2 blocks from the beach, this campground is OK, but not really a $60/night sort of location. Our site was not paved or gravel, just weeds that should have been mowed a week prior. Sites are close. Approx. 10-20 ft. between each site. Picnic table at each site, but no fire ring. Lots of trash dumpsters located in convenient spots throughout the park, but no recycling facility. Our site had no trees, so satellite was not an issue. They have a very large pool area, but unfortunately it was too cold and rainy during our stay to enjoy it. We have Passport America; however, it was not accepted. I never really understood why, but I assume we stayed during a time period they were not accepting it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First time we have been to this park. It is very well maintained, has a professional staff and is in a good location with several restaurants within walking distance. The Intracoastal Waterway is behind the campground, there is a “small” boat ramp that I launched my kayak from the major concern is the tides.... it gets “really low” and the ramp in very slippery with mud. It is a very easy 5 minute bike ride to the beach. The park is open not leaving much privacy but is ok for people watching. The pool was closed or at least very cold but the hot tub was nice. The cable TV wasn't very good quality at our site, but was good for the weekend. There are numerous park model trailers going up and one of these days it will be a trailer park if they keep going like they are now. I heard a lot French spoken while we were there. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our third stay at this park. Very well maintained, friendly staff and a good location with several restaurants within walking distance. The campground backs up to a creek that runs off of the intracoastal waterway and has a small boat ramp that would be very adequate for a flats boat, kayak, canoe, etc. LP gas refills onsite. Many of the sites have concrete pads, ours did not. We had pretty hard packed sand which wasn't a problem. This is a pretty open RV park so you don't have much privacy in between individual sites. They don't allow open campfires. A nice playground and a very nice pool. The office has a roomy card/game room and when we were there, several people were taking advantage of it playing scrabble, bridge, etc. The location is in close proximity to the St. Johns County pier which hosts an annual "Beach Bash" for New Years Eve. This event is very well done and Ocean Grove is a great base for attending this event. Several of our neighbors were there for this same reason. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here while visiting St. Augustine. The park is fairly nice but a little run down where the permanent residences are located. They do seem to be doing improvement on the sites for short time campers though. The pool and spa were clean and well kept. Each site has a picnic table but they are quite small. Even the bench part of the table was small, consisting of a 2 X 6 board. We never did use the table, it was so small. The cable TV wasn't very good quality at our site, but local channels are available over-the-air and come in quite well from nearby Jacksonville. We would probably stay here again if in the area. Clean fairly well organized park that appears to see its fair share of use due to the lack of parks in the St. Augustine area that can allow easy access by larger motorhome. The price is high at $60 for daily fees considering it is approaching the price of much nicer resorts in places such as Las Vegas, but location appears to be the reason. Power and water was good, Internet access is extra, and I did not check the cable TV. Trees are plenty, but cut back of easy access. No problems to speak of and the office was friendly. Reserved a spot the day before with a credit card, but upon arrival was informed they did not have any of the information provided other than my name and time/date of arrival. The bad: lots of ants in my site started up my camper within the 3rd day. The REALLY bad: bath-house with overflowing toilets, no ventilation, no air conditioning, nasty showers. We stayed here for eleven days in March 2011. Called two weeks ahead of arrival for a reservation and asked for a pull thru. They would not reserve one (even though she stated there were several open) until our arrival. Upon arrival, we again requested a pull thru, but were assigned a very small back in site at the back of the property (we could barely open our slides). We were very disappointed with this campground. W were here last year and understood it was being renovated and upgraded. We decided to return this year to see the improvements, however it seemed more run down than last year. The grass was not cut in places, the cable TV box had three connections, two didn't work. The bathrooms were terrible: the soap dishes were falling off, could not set anything on them and the shower heads were so low you had to duck to use them. No bench in the men's room to place clothes. The staff was not too friendly, very abrupt. The location of the ocean was more like a mile or so, not 500 yards. On the way home we found a nice park on the ocean for a little more. We will try that new park next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in June 2009 and while the people who live in the park are nice, the personnel at the front desk are in need of a serious attitude adjustment. I called the desk about wifi and they told me it was available at the office bldg. so I went there only to be told it had been down for a few days and wouldn't be up til the following week. I could not understand why I hadn't been told that when I called from my site. The park is in need of a lot of work, they are supposedly selling lots there but it's crowded and no one follows any of the rules. Boats and extra cars are parked everywhere and when exiting with my motorhome I had trouble making corners because of all the excess junk sitting on people's lots. We paid $33 through PA and would never spend their normal amount of over $60 for a site in this park. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Resort? That's a stretch. We came here for one night to meet some friends on our way north. We were given a site that was very short. We had to use a 30 amp extension cord to connect our electric. Should have listened to all the posts here. I made the reservation before I checked for comments on this web site. Won't make that mistake again. Anyone coming to St. Augustine, go to Bryn Mawr not Ocean Grove. Reasons: 1) No access to the beach that we could find unless you drove up the road several miles and found public access areas. They advertise 400 yards from the beach, however, that's by helicopter. 2) No discounts unless you pay cash, didn't say that until I was checking in. 3) Crowded, sites aren't very easy to back into and they have some sort of lottery system I think for how they hand out the pull throughs. They put me, a 35ft TT with Large Tow Vehicle in a space that would accommodate a 30ft rig, then they put a class C, in a pull through and he could have parked three of the same size rigs in that area. 4) Service Stunk!! Nuff said. Very unfriendly staff. 5) No campfire, not even in a fire ring. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

There reservation treatment was just plain terrible. I was about 400 miles from St. Augustine and called them for a reservation for the following day. I asked if they had one on the water and viewed there sites on their web page. They confirmed site #209 on the water for two nights and I paid in advance with my visa. I arrived around 5:00 pm to discover that they had given away my camp site and booked me into site #202. Site #202 was a soft, soft sand pit that nobody in their right mind would drive a large rig into. I got a refund and left to find a suitable location. I found a better property available a mile or so down the road. In addition to their poor handling of my reservation, the property appeared very junky and would not hold a candle to Bryn Mawn Resort down the road. I stayed 3 nights and noted that no rig ever used the sand pit during that time yet they were full. Ocean Grove Resort in St. Augustine Florida will never get my business ever. If you are going to be in that area, Beware. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The sites are small and most are pretty close together with many semi-permanent units and
park models. We were very diappointed when we first arrived and saw the site that we were assigned. It was tiny and the worst site in the campground, next to an old motor home on blocks with a permanent resident and junk all over the site. The site was not even big enough for our little 24 foot trailer. We saw at least 10 other open sites and my wife went to the office to request another site but was told none were available by an employee who is either rude or was having a very bad day. We were only given another site after I returned to the office and said I was leaving and wanted a refund. The site that we ended up with was nice and probably the second best in the park. It was in the back of the park with a nice view overlooking the dock, creek and marsh. To give them the benefit of the doubt, it was Memorial Day weekend and they were busy and two other employees later apologized for the bad site and the other employee. Overall we had a good stay in our site in the back of the park but it would have been awful in that tiny site close to the pavilion and pool with the Karaoke contest and crowd. Sites 308E-308H, 223, or 319 are the best ones. I think I will checkout Anastasia State Park next time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an older park and not really geared for big rigs (40'+) although they say they welcome up to 45'. The streets are narrow and the majority of the sites used for nightly check-ins are mixed in with park models. You have to be careful which streets you turn down or you can find yourself stuck. The site we had had many anthills and soft dirt to set up on. But overall it's a quiet place, clean and residents are friendly to overnighters. I just would never bring my 40' coach here again due to tightness. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After reading many of the reviews posted, I was not sure how our stay might go. I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised. The grounds are clean and well kept. During our stay, the staff has been busy keeping everything clean, painting, planting flowers, etc. Some of the sites are more level than others, but none are so bad you cannot level your rig with the normal items you should be carrying. Each site is separated by a natural area of plants/trees. On some sites this does limit the patio area. WIFI is good, cable is OK with limited channels. Bathhouses are older but clean. The far end of the campground appears to have a fair number of permanent sites but most were not occupied. Those that were are mostly out of sight. At check-in, I was quoted a different rate than what I had booked at. I had my conformation with price and staff corrected, so no problem. The one real negative would be the foul mouth of one of the workers. On more than one occasion he could be heard dropping "F" bombs and really did not seem to care who heard it. Would I stay again? Great location. Great staff. But the park needs remodeling. Clean the lake of debris, old fountain, and over grown vegetation. Plant flowers and take care of them. Remove rotten wood from planters, bath houses, lake side pickings. If they spent $10k, they could really make this park a premier KOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Convenient to downtown St Augustine. Easy to get to. Lots of restaurants close by, too. Stayed a week. Good walk around pond for dogs, and there is a dog park. Paved sites. This is a great campground for overnight use, but I would NOT recommend it as a destination. The campsites are very close together; so close that I had to keep the shades drawn for privacy…we were just able to open the awning and the slides but our pull-through, lakefront, premium site was in a hole so we could not use our lawn chairs nor our outdoor kitchen. To be fair not everyones site was as bad. This KOA is located in a high traffic area so you can hear road noise and smell exhaust all day. All the sites have non movable ground level grill and are very close to the road; so close that if you used them for grilling any vehicle driving by, would get road dust on your food, any dog walking by has a free meal. The pool was closed and green, the activities were nonexistent. The club house was locked up and looked as if it hadn't been used in years. The "lake" is very sad, it is actually a duck pond. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this KOA. Staff were very friendly! Spend the extra money to get the lake side. Nice dog run and cute homemade lake. Enjoyed watching some strange bird swim underwater. Some good shade. The reason I did not give it a 10 is because the site we were in was pretty cramped if you have slides, which we do, and could be a little more level. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Be sure to eat at the Italian restaurant in walking distance! Great scallops! We camped here in a Motorhome.

One of the better KOAs we've been in. The place is clean and quiet. The staff is friendly, and you are close to everything St. Augustine has to offer. There is even a shuttle bus stop in the campground to take you sightseeing. Most sites are in the shade, the pull-through sites are paved, level, and relatively spacious. The price was with the KOA card. My husband and I camped here for one night to see St. Augustine. The park is in a great location. The people who we ran into seemed very friendly. My husband did catch the biggest bass he has caught in years at their pond so that made the stay worthwhile. Overall the park is just OK. It is a little older but not terrible. The office staff was not very friendly. Not bad, just not super nice. I went to the store just after 5 and it was already closed even thought the sign said they closed at 6. Park is behind a run down looking strip center but we didn't hear any noise or have any problems from it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Site was a level asphalt pull through next to the lake where we could watch the fish jump and ducks paddle. Staff were friendly and the outside workers kept busy on general grounds maintenance. Evidence of someone trying to improve grounds appearance with new plantings. Services worked well with good voltage readings and Wi-Fi was strong from our site each of the 4 nights of our stay. The washrooms/washrooms as well as the laundry facilities located in the center of the campground are not in good condition especially the latter; however, the ones located next to the office appear in good condition. This campground is a great location from which to visit St. Augustine as Old Towne Trolley tickets can be purchased at the office and their shuttle makes stops at the CG on the hour during the day and drop you at a trolley stop downtown and return you to the CG. Pass is good for 3-days and offers a great way to explore the City. A great bargain by any standard. Not sure about some of the highly negative ratings by others as we did not see where warranted. We definitely will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is going to sound more negative than I intend. We stayed here last year and it looks like there's been some investment in the property. It's nice park. That said, the Wi-Fi is terrible unless you're just looking for email and a quick check of the news. Once you get logged in you're good for a few minutes, but if you're looking for any kind "usage" like youtube or even downloading pictures on FB, you're in for some really slow internet. The pad was paved and pretty level. All the hook ups are in good working order. The staff is nice, but they know the park will be full and have that kind of take it or leave it attitude. A little cramped. St Augustine is the true star - a great place. We'll almost certainly come back to this location. It's really close to both the old town and the beach. We arrived here at 4:30PM, having called for reservations for the week while on the road. We were greeted with a list on the wall of available spaces to choose from, not a documented site or packet, as usually done. We chose a pull-through from the list, and got settled in. The next morning, as usual, we went to the office to pay, and were greeted by a very grumpy lady who said we had not gone to the "right" space, which, after we checked the site she had assigned us, we could NOT have gotten our rig into it. After I told her that we would be happy to leave and relocate elsewhere, she frowningly, and reluctantly allowed us to stay where we were, but assured me that, "Now she would have to change some things around to make it work." I felt very unwelcome! The park is tired and ragged, the laundry closes at 5PM and if you need to do laundry later, you use an open shed in the middle of the park, with old, rusty, barely working equipment, and the bugs eat you alive! Trash was piled everywhere, and seldom picked up from our site, as directed. The park is weedy, and our site was not mown, even after asking a young man weed-eating other sites to weed-eat ours anytime. I am happy to say that we were gone most of the days from here, as it was not a clean, typical KOA at all. We would choose another park in the event we stay in St. Augustine again. This park is a blackeye to all KOA's, as we have relied on these campgrounds for over 40 years, and never have been treated so shabbily as this. Too bad! Won't be back! We spent 2 nights here in a class A. My backin site was within a few feet of a wood fence that was between us and a strip mall. Quite a bit of night noise, was warned by staff when I made the reservation. They claim that they have Wi-Fi, but it is the most difficult that I have ever experienced to get logged on to. Thank goodness there is a lot to do in St. Augustine, because this KOA was cramped, not level sites and noisey. The sites are very narrow and short too, not much room for your vehicle. The campground is behind a shopping center, there is a bar in the shopping center and we could hear their music until 2AM each night. Wi-Fi only worked in the mornings and it was pretty weak even then. The staff was friendly and the grounds were clean, but this KOA is very overpriced for what you get. This was our second Thanksgiving at this campground, and we'll probably make it a tradition. It's close enough to the downtown attractions of St. Augustine to bike, and even closer to bike to the beach. This is not an 'out in nature' campground. THE GOOD: Clean bathrooms. Hot and clean showers (open late). Long pull throughs, a clean lake, a clean and unheated pool and a good location. Has a friendly check in staff and a well stocked, small Camp Store. Dog waste bags and trash cans are available. Site has trash pickup. THE BAD: Not pet-friendly. Virtually no place to walk your pets, and the Kamp K-9 is the worst I've seen. The dog run is about as big as a pop-up tent, and loaded with old human furniture. Staff regularly comes up to dog owners wanting to chat. (Even if your back is facing them: over friendly lot). Streets are narrow, and don't even think about bringing anything bigger than a compact car near the Kabins: you will either hit a tree/pole or fall in the lake. Spaces near the entrance are more spacious than those at the rear. Spots are very skinny, and the placement of sewer cap can be odd: up to 20 feet away from other hookups. (A pain if you have a toad and need to back up.) Very tight turn into CG from Pope Road. PS: US-1A is also known as A1A. If you miss the turn, the lanes get really tight and skinny. Use 16th street, to get back to A1A, it's a bigger road than the rest. Sites are not level. They are rounded near the entrance and exit to the space, easily correctable. Other notes: Cable TV is OK. The over air channels are the best. Wi-Fi is quick with 3-4 bars out of 5, (ask for the code). Cable TV attachment is located on the water hookup pole, not the electric hookup box. Park is right across from restaurants, grocery store and less than 1 mile to the beach. They have paddleboats to rent. This is the closest CG to the beach. Have a 37' Class A MH w/toad. It's hard to have a bad time in St. Augustine. This park is typical of all he KOAs we've stayed at. The pads were a little cramped but were paved, level pretty well maintained. The staff was incredibly nice, maybe too nice. We stayed here on a crowded weekend and the place was completely booked. When we arrived we were assigned our spot and at checkout time the previous customer was still there and in no hurry to leave. We waited about 45 minutes for them to leave and they didn't really hurry until I said something to them - I kept waiting for the staff to do so, but they didn't seem to care that I was parked in waiting. Overall a great trip, and a nice park - it could have been better if the staff had been more attentive to their checkout times. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a pleasant CG that is very convenient for sightseeing in St. Augustine or wandering on the beach. The site widths are typical for CG's in urban areas and tourist destinations, but they are a bit on the short side. With our 40' MH we had to park our toad sideways to ensure it was off the road. The roads and sites are paved and are fairly level. Sites have concrete pads for picnic tables, but ours was the one of the ugliest concrete paving jobs I have ever seen in a commercial establishment. There was free Tengonet Wi-Fi which exhibited the usual annoyances of reappearing welcome screens. There is also free cable. We used our Verizon air card which worked well. A significant number of large live oak trees will make it difficult to get satellite TV on some sites; we were ok on site 66, but just barely. The CG is set on a pond that can be fished without a license (catch and release only) which is something kids might enjoy. The CG is a bit on the expensive side but it was our decision to stay here. This close to the beach in prime FL season, one really can't complain. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a return trip to this KOA and unfortunately the place is not as nice as our last visit. I had forgotten how narrow the sites are. The site is concrete but the area around your rig used to be grass but is now dirt/sand. You could not avoid it when you step outside your RV. Rain made things even worse because then we had mud. It seems that the landscape is not a priority. There is a pool to swim in and the distance to the beach is just a short bike ride. These two things keep my review higher than it would be otherwise. Very disappointed in this stay and fortunately we only planned on a few days here. We were anxious to move on. Not sure if we'll stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

It is pricey but in line for the area. The site was a narrow pull through but we had no problem with our 40 foot Class A. The best part is this is one of the only parks with paved sited and paved interior roads. The pool is very small and there are no other amenities, but we were able to walk to restaurants in the area in under 3 minutes. It is also on the shuttle route and for about $20 per person we had free shuttle service back and forth to downtown for three days. We plan on going back this fall. This is a great location if you want to explore historic St Augustine, by taxi it was about $10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We found this to be an older KOA but well kept. The grounds were very clean, and the staff was helpful. Nice pet walks. Most sites were tight for big rigs so make sure you ask for a larger site if needed. Mostly shaded around a small lake with green water. It's about a mile's walk to the beach but not bad. I decided to try this park out since I live and Jacksonville and have to work in St. Augustine 6-7 weekends a year. First the check-in staff was very unfriendly and 2nd since my job requires me to be there till noon on Sunday I needed to have a 2 hour late checkout. The staff person said that "she" did not allow any extensions for late checkout. I asked if I could pay a half day - answer "she" did not allow this either as was busy season. Since I was there I had to pay an extra night just to stay two hours. While I understand "busy" season most people checked in around 3 or 4 and I was long gone by then and it was a Sunday. When I left there were at least 8 or more spot available. Personally I will never stay there or recommend this camp ground - obviously repeat customers they are not concerned about and I would have been there during the "Not so busy season". Thank goodness there are other campground nearby way more friendly and actually like repeat local customers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA raised it's prices from approximately $40 per night to over $70 per night due to the holiday. We found a great RV park nearby that did not have a price increase due to being near a holiday. Easy to find. We came here because Anastasia State Park was full. Location close enough to historic St. Augustine. When we arrived, the clerk was a little snotty because apparently I didn't indicate that we were towing a vehicle. This was the first time I made a reservation on KOA's website and I didn't realize there was an option to check this. The clerk made a big deal about it to another clerk. Anyway, they put us right at the front of the campground. We have a 39' motorhome and it took some maneuvering to get it through the pull-thru. Not a bad little KOA. Sites are a little cramped for the most part but I was able to get our 33 foot with tow dolly in with room to park the car. Water pressure was very good. Campground workers were friendly, electricity was a little shaky with minor brown outs that lasted about 1 sec. Great room to walk the dogs. This park is in a great location for exploring St Augustine, right in town. It was more expensive than we prefer to pay but the value is there in terms of location. Sites are a bit cramped. Our biggest complaint was being in a site covered with trees when we had asked for a more open site to be able to get satellite, which we could not. We come to this KOA park for various reasons. One, its very convienant and close to old St. Augustine town, and second we just love the way we are always treated here. From the courteous check-in lady to the various staff through-out the park they are always very nice. I did see the owner of the park inspecting and instructing his workers of things that he saw. But overall the park is well kept. The sites are clean and manicured. The dog park is a nice size and clean. Almost all the people pick up after their dogs, but you have your few who don't believe in picking up after their dogs. I would highly recommend this KOA park to anyone. Very friendly check in, a packet of local things to do and see provided. There was a problem with sewer gases, so couldn't run our roof vents and our neighbor had problems with dumping his tanks as the system seemed to slow and pause. The sites are about a 90 percent sand mix with black dirt, so this is tracked in easily, especially when it's damp outside. Although this was a little pricey, we would stay here again as it is so convenient to the sights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We arrived late here about 10 pm and could only find 2 options available at the office for late arrivals. One was taken with a car, and the other too small. Was a very nice KOA, in a great location, handy to stuff both in St. Augustine Beach, and not that far out of the old part of St. Augustine. It is about a mile from the beach. Nice paved, mostly drive through spaces - a little close together, but I have seen worse. Some were a little uneven, but nothing you can't handle with typical leveling blocks. There is a nice duck/fish pond, and the ducks and egrets were fun to watch. In general, the grounds and landscaping were in fantastic shape, as was the pool and bathhouses. Pet friendly. We were going to stay at nearby Anastasia State Park which would have been half the cost, but it was booked up, and you can't take your dogs on the beach in the state park anyhow. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent site. Centrally located to St Augustine. We had a deluxe site and it was worth every penny. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our reservation was originally for four nights but we loved it so much that we added a fifth night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very solid campground for a KOA. VERY clean and neat and the staff is constantly cleaning the grounds of trash etc. Even tiny pieces of paper are quickly picked up. I had a pull through site which was plenty large enough for my 37 foot Class A with room to spare. The sites are spaced nicely and the location is good too. Easy in an out plus close to sight seeing areas. Pool was clean and the laundromat area worked well too. The lake is small but nice. Overall a very good place but of course not a luxury RV park but then I didn't expect that. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park near the beach and St. Augustine. Check in was great and pleasant. Staff very friendly and helpful. Park is clean and welcoming. Bathroom were very clean. Stayed here 4 nights over Memorial Day weekend. Excellent location with friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms and common areas were always tidy. Staff were constantly going around in golf carts picking up garbage. Very close to the beaches and a 10 minute ride to historic St. Augustine. Wi-Fi worked great. An example all KOA's should follow. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground was clean and well maintained. Lake sites were paved with concrete patios,some had tables and outdoor fireplaces and grills. Quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife.Weather was warm and pool not heated and could have been used if it had been heated. Office staff friendly and helpful. WiFi signal strong. My original reserved back in site was way in the back along a residential fence in the mud. I complained and was given a pull thru for $5 more a night. My 34 foot motorhome barely fit in a pull thru site. Site was uneven , but nicely paved. Vegetation is nice, animals are every where including pesky mallard ducks panhandling constantly, all day. Lots of birds, turtles. Staff was very unfriendly along with workers. Overpriced to say the least. Public Beach on the Ocean is mile and 1/2 away which was the nice. I've stayed here 2 years in a row but the price is way too high now. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff was friendly. The location is convienient to St. Augustine attractions and beaches. The locaton of the park is in a congested business zone, not a relaxing location. Most sites are pull through with full hookups. The sites are small and this is more of a "parking lot" than a campground. Not a place for a long relaxing stay, but ok for a home base for night or two if you are there to see the sights or spend the day at the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this campground last winter during Daytona Bike Week. Not having known that when we made reservations we found the entire campground was filled with bikers. For the most part quiet time was observed. The sites were ok. I think they were a little closely spaced. There was a bathroom/shower building near our site. The laundry area only had 3 or 4 machines, so if you needed to do laundry you had to wait until the machines were free. This was an ok campground but I don't think I would want to stay here for any length of time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

While there was some traffic noise during the day we did not notice it at night. Very convenient to most attractions in the area. Campsites were overpriced for their size. When our car was parked I had to exit it under our neighbors' slide-out. While the "dog waste stations" were convenient when walking our dogs, there was very little space for walking them. The crowded conditions outweighed the clean campground and friendly staff. The park is in a suburban/highway setting. The noise and surrounding commercial area detracts from the park's trees and small pond. The RV sites are too, too close together. Our site was next to a storage and trash dump area. For the daily fee you would expect a less crowded and more serene RV camping area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I have mixed feelings about this park. It is clean and conveniently located. There is a lake in the park with lots of birds, making for an attractive setting. The sites are typical KOA size. However the site we were assigned to was on the end of a row with no room for a picnic table. We asked to move but they were full. There is wifi throughout the park, but the connection was so flaky as to be next to useless. When we complained to the office, we were treated poorly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground. The staff in the office the first night were a bit standoffish, and after the friendly reception at the last park we stayed in, was quite a disappointment. However, the rest of the staff were nice during our stay. Though located right in town, this park is a little oasis, with its own lake and great tree coverage. The outdoor, 24 hr laundry was a plus for convenience, but stank given that the floor was alway covered in dirty water. Don't drop any clean clothes! (They do have another laundry in the the store.) Wifi worked great. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Long paved pullthrough sites with some nice tall trees between. By maneuvering up and back a bit, we were able to receive satellite. We could not get their cable to work. It was convenient to beach, lighthouse, town. $75 night seemed high as we had very close neighbors. We had nice site on lake - There are a few bad sites in front next to building - The laundry machines were adequate and there were plenty of them. The showers were nice with good water pressure and clean. We would probably stay in a state park rather than here, but none was available as it was a holiday weekend when we were in the area. Overall, we were satisfied with this campground, but we believe that it is way over-priced for what you get. We found the staff to be friendly & helpful. Also, we did not feel crowded on our site, as some reviews have stated. The large majority of the sites are newly-paved pull-through sites, but those along the eastern edge are dirt back-in. Be sure to call them to confirm your size and pull-through requirements, because the folks checking in before us had trouble with their reservation made months before on the Internet. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall Nice , But pricey for the place. New asphalt throughout, my site was very uneven off by 10 inches in the rear. Restroom and showers near the office immaculate. The other one was dirty not clean and was closed for 2 days while I was there. Sites are very tight. Very little room even for the awning to be out. I found the staff Ok , but the desk clerks just doing their Job. The beach is 1 mile across A1A down Pope street. Historical St Augustine is great and the Fort is a must. A request at the KOA desk calls the courtesy van to pick you up for the red train trolly tours around town. Its worth the $18 ticket for 3 days. Last shuttle to KOA at 3:30 from town or your on your own. I would probably stay here again only for the history, lighthouse and beach , but I would like to find an optional place. The grounds were well groomed and alot of wild birds, turtles and ducks and egrets along the narrow lake shore. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not the most pleasant but could be great if only the managers enjoyed what they do for a living. This is a people business and customers come 1st but not it seems at this KOA. The park needs some serious maintenance and the managers need to change their manner - not curt, distant and cold as we found. We were given a very cramped plot with others within 2' and we had a mini dust bowl in the middle. Swimming pool had a grey scummy ring. Toilets and showers -hmmmm. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were disappointed after reading the reviews on this site. This campground is crowded and they try to put big rigs into small spots. There is no room for maneuvering. The work campers are over zealous and are rude. The deck surrounding the pool is patched with concrete and rough. There are holes in the pool bottom. The entrance and exits were blocked at night with overflow. This is a very dangerous situation in case of emergency. The office staff was not familiar with the computer system and check in took far longer than it should have taken. Even with the so called improvements, this park has over priced itself for the condition of the park. We will not return until some changes are made. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Sites were very comfortable and staff very friendly. Little islands between sites was a nice touch!!! Location, relative to downtown St. Augustine was great, and beach was a few minutes away also. Plenty of places to eat around the area. Only complaints I have was some road and park noise, which wasn't that bad and what appeared to be an alligator in the lake. I dont mind the alligator as long as we were told, which we weren't. Other parks by beach were nice , but suffered from heavy traffic. This place is in the perfect location. Definitely will be back! This KOA campground was a pleasant experience for us. When we arrived, we found the staff friendly. A staff member escorted us to our site. All the roads and sites appear to have been recently paved. We were asked to use pieces of wood under our jacks, so as not to damage the new pavement. They stated that they would supply some if we didn't have any. We had no trouble using the Wi-Fi. We also used the laundry with no problems. Located only a few blocks from the beach and of the Alligator Farm. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park has been recently renovated, and it shows. The roads and sites have fresh asphalt, and there is enough room for the biggest rigs. It is very clean and nicely designed, and the staff are friendly, patient and helpful. The campground is located on Anastasia Island, about 10 minutes from downtown St. Augustine, where all the congestion is. You can drive here via State Road 312, which will get you to the island without going through downtown tourist traffic. Winter is a good time to explore the area unless you really want to swim at the beach. Biking fans would enjoy Guana River State Park, about 30 minutes north of the campground on A-1-A. There are very good restaurants on the island as well as down town. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park has received some unfavorable reviews in the past, but overall, it was a great campground for the location. They recently paved all the sites in blacktop and also the roads. The site we had was level and after they "fill in" the difference between the sites, it should be great. The people were very helpful and showed each camper to their site. The staff was friendly and just went out of their way to be helpful. The foliage had just been trimmed back, so next year, it should provide a little more privacy. The location of this campground made it worth the extra money. The WIFI was also a plus. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As others have said, the sites tend to be rather narrow, but we had no problems with extending all four slides. Since it is January, we have not spent much time outside where we would use the awning, but it looks like we would have enough space to do so. The staff led us to our site, and gave excellent directions helping us get situated where all of the slides would open without interferrence from the trees. They are marking various trees to remove to make the sites more useable. Depending on your neighbor, exiting your site could be a problem if you leave before they are out for the day and are inconsiderate as to their parking habits, as the interior roads are also rather tight. The campground is convenient for exploring the area. We are here for a week, and would come back if in the area again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a nice clean park. We were able to make the turns to get back to our site, but we ended up backing in and moving over a site due to some tight spots in the back of the park. The staff was helpful getting us into the site. There is a nice lake and good dog walking area. The rates are a bit high (even with the KOA Value Card), but it we stayed there during the October Daytona BiketoberFest which drove up rates on all camp grounds within a 75 mile radius of Daytona. We would stay here again to explore the St. Augustine area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park was clean and had great access to St. Augustine and beaches. Agree with other reviewers that sites are too narrow, and uneven. We enjoyed the trees and palms, but had to move three times to find a site where we could extend our slides and awning. Pull through length is ample for rig and toad, but width is too narrow for slide equipped rigs. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped at the St. Augustine Beach KOA twice and experienced problems both times. It seems the worst problems occur when the two elderly ladies are on duty. The first time we stayed there in November 2004 in a one room cabin, the people next door had a pre-teen and teen boys that were loud and getting into everything all night long, from climbing fences into "Staff Only" areas to getting in the locked-up paddle boats. When we went to complain, the office was closed and locked up. Not allowing an isolated bad experience influence us, we stayed a second time August 2005, this time with our daughter and grandchildren, so we needed a larger cabin. We found out after we arrived that none of two room cabins are on the lake, which was something we specifically requested in our online reservation and was not told to us in our confirmation letter. Again, the two elderly ladies were on duty and this time, they decided not to open the paddle boats for rent. The paddle boats are only available from 1-5 PM daily, if they decide to let them be used. Since it was after 5 when we checked in, the first day was out and checkout is before 1 pm, so the last day is out. The afternoon of the second day, the elderly ladies decided that the boats were not available because "We (they) have a tour bus coming in". This KOA could definitely benefit from a course in Customer Service. By the way, we never saw a bus visit either. Two complaints were filed with KOA and no response was ever received from the campground. This was the very last time we will ever stay at this campground. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.

Easy bike ride to historic old St. Augustine and the beach. Nice lake/pond, with small alligator and plenty of native birds; catch-and-release fishing o.k. Sandy sites narrow, but sand berms and plantings give some privacy. Some sites may be difficult to open awnings, due to overhanging branches. Close to highway, especially sites along wall adjacent to strip mall. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we arrived we were asigned one site , pulled rig in couldn't open awning & picnic table was sitting on a slope. Tried to get back out & trees were so low that ended up ripping the frig vent off the roof! Moved to another site , still couldn't open awning or use picnic table. Sites are way to small & uneven! We found campsite clean and accessible. large shade trees/tropical plants. Although daytona 500 race weekend, area peaceful/clean. Sites do have cable/tv. Staff pleasant, helpfull. Quiet area. One staff member told us prior to arrival, she was too busy to accept a "fed-ex" for us. We picked it up elsewhere. We almost cancelled. Glad we didn't. Not going to blame KOA for one bad staff member. May stay there again. We camped here in a camper.

Convenient location but the highest price for a non-oceanfront site in area. Small older sites difficult for slides and bigger rigs with lots of overhangs. Lots of seasonals. Check other area campgrounds first and stay only if neccessary. We camped here in a camper.
