A nice park. We caught plenty of fish. The restrooms were rough but they were building new ones. We had a nice view. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This park is a fish camp on the weekends. We had a river site with 50 amps, the river view is beautiful. The road to the park from main road is paved a bit narrow with a few low hanging tree limbs. The road turns to dirt at park entrance as is the rest of the park. The sites are small with 7 river sites. The staff at the park are nice but this is a fish camp with little to no camping rules. If you don't mind some redneck fisherman on the weekend this is a cheap place to stay with great views. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park for the money, though the "out the door rate" of $30.00, which has been the norm for a year or more, was raised just 3 days ago to $32.50. This after I had already booked 5 months in advance for the $30.00 rate, even so, is still a good bargain for what you get. Very fast and free WiFi, huge pull through sites with full hookups. We were only here for an overnight, so did not hook up to sewer or the free cable. We were at site 96, the very last big pull through before the park exit. Was very quiet for a holiday night. Had fun walking down to the boat launch area to watch the "boat follies". What a show! Then followed up by the fireworks display in the distance to the East. Only complaint was the usual no hand soap in the bathrooms, plus they were not clean. Items of clothing, water and sand everywhere, but this could have been because the bathroom is used also by the pavillion picknick set which was very busy this weekend. Also a long walk to get to them, as there is no cut throughs in the various loops to reach them. Did not want to walk through campsites to get to them. Convenient place to stay on our way in and out of Florida. We will return each time we come through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park. It is well in a wooded area between trees. The sites on the back, we were in 86, are very long, about 80ft, and wide enough to put out your awning. Sites are very sandy but leveling was no problem. The shore services are good. The biggest problem is the sand. If you have a patio mat it will help stop the tracking in of sand. Shore services are good. Sprint air Card works best here. The trees and foliage block Satellite signal, but I was able to pickup Directv with a Bird Dog and a long set of cables. I would stay here again if I were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great stop over on way to or from Central Florida area if you want a short drive. Pull-through sites are roomy enough to allow you to say hooked-up. Very pleasant campground that we would stay at for a longer period of time if visiting the Brunswick area. County owned with better internet and cable TV than many private campgrounds. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Quiet park, even though it is located near I-95. Natural setting between sites helps with privacy. Drawback is unpaved roads and sites: produces dust when there has been no rain. Nice access to park facility with covered pavilions and access to waterway. Nice stopover on way south with convenience to Brunswick and Jekyll Island area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Clean, all the utilities work as expected, excellent Wi-Fi and cable which you don't expect in a municipal park. You could have parked two 40' motorhomes in our pull-through. We used it as a base to check out the Georgia Sea Islands. If you like wildlife there are excellent NWR's in the area. We would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very long sites, separated by foliage no problem staying hooked up if traveling through. The staff is friendly and the park is very quiet. Wi-Fi a little iffy at times. We stay here on our way to and from Florida each year. Only drawback for us is all sites are entirely sand and spring mosquitoes are also very friendly! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a well run park. We are local and camped for a weekend with a 3 year old grandson. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We needed wood for a small fire and, rather than requiring us to purchase a large stack, they gave us a few pieces at no charge. Fishing was fun: caught nothing big, but had fun catching small blue gills. Playground could use some updating but all in all a nice weekend. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a great find! We're on our way home to NJ from FL, stopped over for the night. Has friendly staff, great bathhouses, a good rate, accepted my American Express, cable TV and dependable WiFi. It's a good jumping off spot for the local area (Jekyll). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park was excellent. The entire staff was friendly, polite and helpful. WiFi was strong, water pressure was good and has steady electric power. Park was well maintained and we will return soon. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park has great electrical power. Wi-Fi was good. Liked the lay out very much with plenty of room between sites. Potholes have been fixed and roads are in great shape. The only problem I saw was the gnats. I guess it was that time of the year for them to be everywhere. They weren't just in the park, they were even lousy in town. I would return here if I'm ever in the area again and wanted a nice campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were initially disappointed we couldn't get into the Jekyll Island campground, but as it turns out, we found this one to be a much nicer facility. We found that we had to call in order to make a reservation, rather than on line. Sites are large, shaded, and well laid out. The park manages the sites so that different amenities (50 amp, seasonal, etc.) are grouped together. The campground is situated well off the road, but I-95 can be heard in the distance. At the time of our visit, there were many open sites. The dirt roads in the park were potholed but we noticed that they were being fixed starting on the day we left. The price shown is for full hookups. The Wi-Fi was excellent with good coverage. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Really a nice rustic type park. Great for those who don't need to be entertained with planned activities. Sites are large and really private. Close enough to other points of interest. We really enjoyed this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is nice with full hookups and the price is very fair. It is the closest to Jekyll Island and the spacing is better here than at the campground at Jekyll island. The lake is not very large but does add some nice scenery. The staff is very nice. There is a slight amount of road noise from 95 but I imagine when all of the trees are leafed out it would block some of that sound. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We found this county park to be an excellent addition to our list of RV parks we want to come back too. With shady sites and friendly staff it's hard to beat $30 a night for full hook ups with 50 amp service, water, sewer, cable and free Wi-Fi. Pull through sites were very large and would accommodate any rig easily. Navigation around the park was passable with no branches to get in your way. Road noise from 95 was minimal and could only barely be heard during the dead quiet of night. Only negatives were the pull through site we had was dirt, loose packed sand that kept getting into the RV and the cable was fuzzy, barely watchable. The positive aspects of this park would make me easily forget the negatives. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a great place this was! :) High speed reliable Wi-Fi, great cable, full hookups with 50 amp. Very large pull through sites with lots of beautiful trees. Friendly staff (thank you Marion!). It is a County park, but was like a State Park with facilities to spoil you in complete creature comfort. Large park, but with the trees all around, that you had the feeling of privacy. Convenient to the interstate but far enough away to not hear the noise. Very reasonable price at the flat 30 a night. Only thing I could find that I would have changed, would be to have hand soap at the sink, though the shower and restrooms were very clean and heated on a cold morning. Also would like to see gravel or shale on the pull through sites, as the dirt parking site made it tough to not keep tracking it in. We will most definitely stay here again, but more than just an overnight next time. Will bring my own hand soap to the bathroom, and will use our large mat to keep the dirt down. Situation solved. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One flat rate, no discounts. $30 tax included for 50amp, water, sewer, Wi-Fi, cable TV and a very large pull through site. This is the best park in the area and is just off 303 which runs near I-95. You either exit north (southbound) and pickup 303 and head south or vice verse. We took a day trip out to Jekyll Island, $5 parking fee required just to get on the Island. GA park passes are not accepted. The campground out here was not nearly as nice as Blythe Island and daily parking fee still applies. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Large pull thru sites, hard sand and fairly level. Free Wi-Fi that works and excellent Cable selection. Sites are also fairly private and very large. Great location. Would have given it a 10 if they had concrete pads. For the money it is hard to complain. Hard to believe it is a county park as it is better then most privately owned camp grounds. Would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice campground. It's very quiet and owners very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi doesn't work very well at all but is available. Good selection of cable channels available. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice large County park on south Brunswick river. All roads are hard packed shell with pot holes. All sites have a table and fire ring. Site was full hookup with 50 amps, water, sewer, cable TV with 90 channels, and free Wi-Fi that worked. Site was 150 feet long and 35 feet wide with trees around the site, level, and pull-thru. Others sites are on the short side. Office will put you in correct size site for your equipment. All sites are the same price $30.00 per night. New rates started July 1, 2009. You can rent by the week or month as well. Great place to fish, lay around, or swim in lake. Boat ramps and boat lift to put boats in water if you need it. Staff was nice at check in. Country Buffet in Brunswick if you enjoy great GA cooking at a low price. Gates are locked at 9:00 pm. The Flying-J is a couple miles south for fuel at exit 29. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a really nice campground but very dusty/sandy (we are used to paved roads and pads). We travel with 3 long haired dogs (cocker spaniels)and would have liked to have had grassy area closer to our site. Sites are very spacious. Everyone was friendly; campers and rangers alike. It was convenient to St. Simons, Jekyll and Cumberland Islands. Wi-fi worked well at the site mid-week but was real weak Fri/Sat/Sun. We stayed 5 nights from Tue-Sun. If in this area again would definitely stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is in a beautiful location! Very woodsy with lots of space to ride bikes and walk our dogs. The front desk people were very polite and helpful, as were the guys that came when we called about our electrical problems. It rained HARD most of the time we were there, but our site drained...no problem. WIFI was terrific at our site, satellites may experience problems as it is very wooded. We would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Plenty of room in our site. Lots of big trees. Lots of trails. Wi-Fi was spotty at times. Park was quiet and very relaxing. The front office person went out of her to be sure we had a nice stay. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This Regional Campground brought us back memories of our childhood but with all the modern amenities. There were full hookups, Cable TV and some WiFi. Walking, fishing and even just the fresh country smells were great. We would definitely stay here again but would request a back in site with lake view. All the sites were big and separate enough not to be crowded. We highly recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park with lots of room. Bike, hike, fish and swim. Very clean. The wifi was a little weak but worked well at the office. Roads can be dusty. There must have been a smoke ranger training class or maybe the smoke was too keep the no-see 'em bugs away. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We live in the area of Blythe Island Regional Campground, and for quick one or two night weekend getaways we go there. We find it very quite, spacious camp sites, and clean. The personnel are very friendly, and assist when needed. They know our name, and know the spots we prefer. One time our spot was not available when we called, and we were assigned another. When we got there our spot had become available, and they reassigned us there. One night $27.00. Money well spent. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were greeted by courteous, friendly Rangers who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The site we were given was large and clean and while walking our dogs we took note that everything we saw was well maintained. We've stayed in more expensive private campgrounds that didn't have the amenities that this campground offered. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We picked this campground based on reviews on this board. This is a wonderful spot - close to Jekyll Island and driving distance to Okenfenokee Swamp and Cumberland Island. Sites are large, private and well treed and the the campground is very quiet. Staff are very friendly. There is a park/playground for kids and a nice walking trail and pier. We would come back in a heartbeat! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was our 1st time RVing. We tried to stay at Jekyll Island Campground but there was no vacancy. Boy did we luck out. This site surpassed our expectations. The individual sites where large and we were not crowded next to our neighbors. The campground was very lush and our sites where separated by thick trees and bushes. The campground was very clean as was the bathrooms. Each site had a picnic table and a fire pit. Unfortunately no grill were available at individual sites, but were available throughout the campground. The campground offered firewood for $6.75 for 15 large pieces which they delivered to our site in a timely manner. The staff was extremely pleasant and always helpful. I am already planning another trip back to this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has recently upgraded the site utilities, and most of the sites now have sewer, as well as water and electric. There are a number of very long pull-throughs. The park is very clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space between sites. Most of the sites are quite shady. There is a marina in the park (not in the campground, but adjacent to it). You can sometimes catch the odor of the paper mill a few miles away, but it is not strong enough to be really objectionable. This park was a delight to stay at, and is easy to get to from I-95. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here because Jekyll Island was full and after comparing the two, we think we got the best place. The sites are very spacious and private. The park has lots of lush vegetation. The restroom facilites are a little dated, but clean. Internet access was slow but adequate. We enjoyed watching Cardinals and racoons. Park staff was very friendly and helpful. We were able to tour the surrounding islands and area easily from this location. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed Feb. 6, 2009 and we enjoyed it so much we stopped on our way back home and stayed Feb. 11, 2009. The restrooms and showers we extremely clean. It was so very quiet at night. We built a campfire. It was a wonderful place to take our dogs for a walk. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This a really pretty park with lots of pines, live oaks and palmettos. Our site had a view of the fishing lake and wooden pier, and you can also fish in the river or bring a boat. Canoes are available to rent. There's a small swimming beach, flat hiking and biking trails, pavilions for cooking out, pelicans and squirrels. Sites are flat and fairly wide. The wi-fi signal is fast and you can get dozens of cable channels. There are two bath houses, with two showers and three stalls in each. They are older, made of concrete blocks, but they were cleaned several times a day. There's a playground and lots of places to sit around, like on the big porch by the office. Although alcoholic beverages are prohibited (at least in public), it probably gets rowdy when the weather is warmer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is truly a lovely campground. It has very long and wide pull-thru sites. What a pleasant surprise for a county park. What a bargain a beautiful site, full hook-ups and cable TV for $25.00. I would camp here again and look forward to doing so. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Cannot say a lot about this park, it was a good over night stay for us, we really didn't stay long enough to enjoy, wished they had a later check in time, but we made it do, thanks, will try it again at a later date. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped here for the night on our way to FL based on other reviews. The roads are narrow and our 42 ft. coach with TOAD made all of the turns. We did have to ask a fellow camper to move his truck so that we could leave. Sites are large, electric amperage was on the low side of our meter, water pressure was good. The cable worked great, but I could not get the Wi-Fi to work consistently. Some road noise from I-95 but not enough to bother us. Great room to walk the dogs, but some campers were not considerate picking up after their pets. This campground would be a 10 with wider roads and good Wi-Fi. My husband says that we will not return due to the roads. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice family campground with lots of space. Individual sites were large by any standard and there are lots of nature trails to walk with scenic views of the lake. This is a more rustic site than usual but it is well maintained and cleared. At night you can hear the park is dark. We would come again in a heart beat. The park is off the interstate quite a way but not so far to preclude a visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground. We were in need of a place to stay at the last minute and we arrived just before they closed for the evening. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We like this campground it has shaded sites, full hook-ups; and many are spacious. here is a lake for fishing but it costs $5/day. Two complaints: other campers don’t play by the rules: noise, cutting through occupied sites, but the campground has limited control over this. What they correct is the and potholes. Driving a rig---even at 5 mph--- is an exercise in rock and roll. Several cubic yards of gravel could easily solve this problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We LOVED this park. VERY quiet with lots of privacy. Spacious oversize lots. Shade Trees, Lake for fishing and swimming, nature trails for biking and walking. My only advice is for them to update their playground, I hope they would put stuff in for the smaller kids. Staff was very, very pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back and hopefully would like to stay longer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice County park. Roads and sites are hard packed shell. Some sites are very large and 200 feet long. Site we were on was pull thru had 30 amps, water, sewer, 80 channels of TV, table, fire ring, (fires OK here)and free Wi-Fi. You can fish in couple of ponds or salt water. Playground equipment for the kids, picnic tables, boat ramps. PC in office to use if you need it to check e-mail. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park. Would give it a 10 if we had a sewer site and the sites were paved. We had water and 50 amp electric, and cable TV. We had a very very long pull thru site with trees separating us from our neighbors. The sites and roads are packed sand. The staff was very friendly. We could not get the wifi at our site, #86. We where here over Labor Day and the park was full, but still very quite. The next day we had 6 empty sites on each side, no one in front of us and woods behind us. Convenient to I95. Their is a small lake with a beach. Also a river with a fishing pier and boat launch. They also sell bait. They do have a small laundry, with 2 or 3 washes and dryers. Close to the beaches at Jeykll and St. Simons islands. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The new pull through sites are huge but they don't have sewer yet. We did get to move to a full hookup when it came open. The park has a lot of nature trails you can walk, ride a bike or golf cart. The roads inside the park are dirt with potholes most of the time. There are a few tight turns because of trees. (800) 343-7855 We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was very reasonable on it’s price, which included water, electric, sewer, cable tv and wireless internet at the site. The internet was slow, varying from 1 Mbps to 54 Mbps at times. The office staff, which was very friendly, said other campers were complaining and they would contact their tech people. This is also a county park and had a lot of boaters/fishing people during the weekend. The roads are not paved and are sandy and have a lot of small pot holes. It rained once while we were there two nights and there were many puddles. It is not a "friendly" motorcycle campground due to the roads only. The sites were level and there also some long pull throughs at the far end. A few mosquitoes, but not bad for as much woods as you are staying in. Sites have a lot of foliage between them and you have more privacy than most campgrounds. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We liked this campground. A bit like a State Park, but with fullhooks plus cable. Tropical Vegetation, but not as close as some Florida Parks. I asked if I might wash the motorhome, and was told "Sure". We will return for a longer stay, most likely during the Winter of 2008-2009. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Conveniently located off I-95 between exits 29 & 36 so you don't lose travel mileage for stopping. The full hookups, Wi-Fi, and cable TV make this a comfortable overnight stop. The campground is heavily wooded and has dirt roads which would make it muddy when wet. It would make a nice base camp to explore Brunswick and Jekyll Island. There are many outdoor activities: a fresh water lake swimming area, salt water fishing pier, boat launch, archery range, and nature trails. The bathrooms were outdated and dirt, but there was a sign saying to excuse their appearance while they were being renovated. (It hadn't started yet.) We will use this as a stopover again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground is nice. But they redid the camp sites and have fewer tent sites available. Which is not nice if you have a group that needs RV sites and tent sites. The park employees are not helpful either. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you don't need to use the bathhouses, you'll likely be well satisfied with the campground at this scenic, conveniently located county park. Unfortunately, the bathhouse is inadequate and poorly maintained -- for example, only one men's room toilet, which didn't flush; no toilet paper dispenser, and the tissue roll is placed on the dirty floor; no towel racks; no soap; no paper towels. Charge an extra couple of dollars if you must, but campers shouldn't have to put up with this sort of condition. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Hard to beat the combination of full hookups, cable TV, & WIFI for the price. Not sure if they have a laundry, we did not notice one. The campsites were large compared to commercial parks. The sites are sand which seems to be very common in the Coastal Georgia area. The roads are not paved, but are well maintained. Lots of trees everywhere that we saw, so for those with satellite requirements it may be difficult to get a signal. We had a very large back in, full hookup site (#8) directly across the street from the lake. A very nice County run park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a beautiful park in shady setting. We couldn't get satellite here, but they do have cable. The park is convenient to Jekyll and St. Simon Islands. We found the park staff to be helpful and friendly. When I called for a reservation, they told me no sewer sites were available, but when I arrived they found one for me. Trash pickup every morning. Bring your insect repellent, as there are sand gnats and no-see-ums. I don't know if they get more plentiful in the summer, but they were out in force in early March. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a very good size site with good space and trees separating us from neighbors. Gated and secure. Quiet and secluded from highway noise. Convenient to everything and just fifteen minutes to Brunswick of any of the Golden Isles. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a gem. Good base to visit the Golden Isles of Georgia. The space between the rigs is just OK for a public campground but just do a little walking or biking around the park to get away. I was going to use this park as a base to visit the local sites but ended up spending more time in the park. If you like biking off-road this place has many trails with lots of twists & turns (not many hills since this is the Georgia Coast). Cable TV is good (to check on the ever changing weather) but the Wi-Fi only worked in the office, not on our RV site (and we were pretty close to the office). This is the only reason the park did not get a 10. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Campground is run by the County; the employees could take some lessons in being more helpful and the younger employees do not display any sense of work ethic. Therefore, the campground is not as good as it could be. The dirt roads create a lot of dust by the speeding County vehicles. The sites however are great. Excellent size, privacy yet friendly between sites. Easy to move around the campground. Wi-Fi spotty at sites, but great at office or another pavilion. Kids would be okay if swimming, fishing to keep them happy. We would stay again, but would also explore what else is in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I have just re-read all the previous reviews and well I agree this is a nice park I am not as excited about it as everyone else seems to be. The sites are large but not particularly private as your neighbors are in view - we could hear & see our neighbors TV every time we stepped out of our RV. Of the 96 sites 19 have sewer. All sites have some type of electric hookup, 30 or 50 amp, all have cable and water. Wi-fi is being offered for free on a temporary basis ( while being tested per park staff ) and did not work at our site ( #11 ) The dump site is accessible on exiting the park but is located on very sandy soil. It had rained prior to our leaving and we were hesitant to travel through the dump area for fear of sinking or getting stuck. We travel/live in a 41 foot class 'A' and had no problems traveling the roadways to the park as well as within the park. Who ever laid out this park understood the need to angle the sites to make backing into them easier - it was well done. The park offers hiking/biking trails, river access, fishing and swimming. It is also close to Brunswick, St Simon & Jeckyll Island. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great county park. We have stayed here several times and will return. Dirt road and sites. They are building more sites with sewer. We will stay here again We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We loved this park. The sites were spacious with considerable vegetation providing quite a bit of privacy. There were also fire rings unlike many campgrounds we stayed at in the south. This park is sort of like a botanical sanctuary. There are many nature trails with lots of Spanish moss, we rode our bikes through several of them. The park sits on a river and has a boat launch and docking areas where you can fish from. There are also several ponds, one of which is for swimming. It was too cold in March to consider that option. The town of Brunswick is just a couple of miles away from this park. We want to come back to tour that area. We enjoyed this park immensely and would definitely return. We had full hookups including wi-fi/cable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Reading previous reviews is why we camped here. It was nice but not all that. Dirt roads and camp sites made our stay not as pleasant as it could have been. Speed limit of 5mph was not honored even by staff vehicles. This is what made it so dusty. We will not be back unless they can pave or put some rock down. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I can't say enough good things about this park. The earlier reviews have been dead on. The campground is within a county park, so the rate is reasonable, and they have 50 amp electric, water, sewer, free cable, and free WIFI. For a really nice view, park in sites 1-12 which face the lake. The whole area is so picturesque. While there are no organized activities, the park has boat rentals, a playground, a boat ramp, and plenty of walking and biking trails. It's also very conveniently located to explore nearby Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island. Staff is friendly and helpful. There are fire rings/pits at the sites, and you can buy firewood in the office that they will deliver to your site. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is because the sites are dirt, and the tree canopy is so heavy that we couldn't get a satellite signal. Will definitely stay here again. If you like a park with bingo in the rec center every night, this may not be for you. But if you just like to get away from it all and be surrounded by nature, you'll love it here! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great campground! We used this website to research campgrounds in the Brunswick, Georgia area before deciding on Blythe Island Regional Campground. It was a good decision. The campground is laid out very well. We were in site #11 which faces the pond on the grounds. There were many beautiful trees with Spanish moss. We travel with our two dogs. The park is very pet friendly and there were many places to take the dogs for nice walks. The bath houses were kept clean although they were a little outdated. As previous reviews have stated, the roads and sites are dirt. It would be perfect if the sites were paved. We rode through Golden Isles and the campground on Jekyll Island while we were in the area. Blythe Island is definitely much better than either of those campgrounds. There is a great little restaurant not far from the campground - Country Market at the Flying J Travel Plaza. We ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner on different days. It's a great value with very friendly people. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice state run campground. Lots of trees and dirt roads. Most sites are level. There is a lake with seasonal fresh water fishing and right around the bend there is a salt water inlet/boat ramp. The campground is well maintained and repairs are made very quickly once reported. We were there for over a month and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place. Big sites, very clean, great staff. We we're intending on just a overnighter buy decided to stay over. Previous post said not big rig friendly because of roads. We did not have this problem with a 38 foot coach pulling a 20 foot car trailer. Can't wait to go back! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This may be the best campground we have ever stayed in. We arrived on Thanksgiving Day and got the last RV site. It has water and 50 amp power, with the water right across the street. Free WiFI and cable TV in a campground! Plenty of room for big rigs like ours. Lots of easy trails to hike or bike. Very large level sites with trees between them for some privacy. No highway noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a really lovely park. Two small issues. 1. No camp store. 2. WiFi is odd. Strong signal, but could not connect to internet until I was right near office. Still, a great place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great county managed CG, they have FREE WiFi good speed and strong signal, they even have free cable TV. Very helpful staffs. The only complain is the mosquitos, we were there on September, it might be better in the winter season. We will come back to this CG. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We only stayed here one night on our way to WDW, but wished we could've stayed longer. Our site was shaded and across the road from a lake. The campground was attractive and we saw an area where boats were being launched. Easy to get to, looked like a nice place for an extended stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped here for a week in April 2005. The park is absolutely beautiful, if you enjoy the outdoors, this is the campground for you. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We have reservations for the first week of April this year (2007), and we are looking forward to it. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 are the sand gnats, they can be tough to deal with early in the Spring. One tip for gnat relief, use Skin so Soft from Avon to keep them at bay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park was a great find. Very clean and well kept, friendly staff. Roads are packed
sand and crushed rock. Many large shade trees, but they are not in the way when backing or on the roads. About 6 miles off of I-95. I'll be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

A very nice family oriented park. No alcoholic beverages allowed. Fire rings at each site.
Firewood is a bit expensive, $11.50 for 20 pieces hardwood. Fresh water and salt water fishing available. Very friendly staff. Rest rooms were clean except
for the mold and mildew on shower curtains. Lots of area to walk and enjoy nature. We camped here in a Motorhome.

True campsite with fire pit (yes, we roasted weinies by the fire in 36 degrees temps!) E/W only at site. Would be a great place to camp in warmer weather and well shaded with access to private lake. We were there in mid January. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is O.k. for small class C motorhomes or small class A motorhomes. Very hard to drive to site due to small roads and low trees. All sites were sand and shell, you track this inside. Park is very quiet at night. Lot of land to walk around on. Staff was very nice. We camped here in a camper.

One of my favorites. There is just too many amenities to list them here. No pool to swim in, but a nice lake with beach. This is one place that will appeal to you, whether you have a tent, a pop-up, a trailer, a motor home, or even a Prevost. Well, the latter may not like having gravel roads and only 30 amps, but everyone else will like this. Very clean and tidy. We camped here in a camper.
This new RV Resort is one the best places we have stayed in! We traveled cross country and have found maybe 1 or 2 that is equal to this! The staff is friendly, knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile to assure that your stay is the best! The sites are concrete, well lit, and larger than the average park. There is also a dog run for our little four legged "children"! I would highly recommend this resort to everyone looking for a stay in Brunswick, GA. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great place to spent some time in. All new and everything is in the correct place. Sites are cement, long, wide, level, have 30/50 amp power, water, sewer, cable TV with 32 channels, BBQ cooking equipment and table. Most sites are pull thru and rest are back in. You have plants on each side plus lots of space on each side. Roads are blacktop and very wide so no problems with turns. Nice pond with boats, super nice pavilion with cooking equipment and bathrooms. The pool looked very nice. You have two bathhouses that look like ones in a five star hotel. Lights come on as you walk in. Two laundry centers for all your needs. Playground equipment for the kids. A bark park for the dogs to play in. Shuffleboard, horse shoes, game room, propane and places to sit near the pond. Flying-J and TA near here for your fuel needs. Verizon cell and air card worked well here. You can hear a little road noise off I-95 but it was very little. Wi-Fi was free and worked well on your site due to a number of antennas in the resort. Staff was very nice at check in. Lots of planning went into this resort and it shows. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a great park! It was a year old as of April this year. The staff is very helpful and knew the area for site seeing. The previous reviewer describes the park exactly. We have never been in a cleaner and better set up park. If you are using a GPS and coming off of I-95 the address will show the park on the opposite side of the street than it is. Use N31*08.025 & W081*34.947 and that will get you right to the office. We would definitely stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an amazing RV park. We all believe that we could design the ultimate RV park with everything just right for the RVers. Well, this park is it. The roads are all paved, the sites have a concrete pad for the RV and picnic table at every site. There is also a BBQ at each site. Sites are extra large with thick grass: no dirt here. Next to the lake there is a large (open on two sides) pavilion has stained cement floor, restrooms, ceiling fans, very long counter top, sink, wood burning fireplace, nice gas grill and three briquette grills. The trees are not mature yet: otherwise this place has it all. The bathrooms in all of the facilities have marble sinks and travertine floor tile in some areas. The game room has two new pool tables and games. There is a large screen TV room and a book exchange. Few RV parks have as many accessories on-hand as this one. The location is close to 5 fuel stops and the islands; Jekyll, Blythe, St Simon and Sea Island. We will be back here every time we are in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a brand new RV Park, one year old, all the buildings are spotless including the office. Staff in office - friendly, helpful and concerned that your stay be okay. Park is beautifully landscaped with concrete - level pads, full hookups, including cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Lots of space between sites. We will definitely stay here, again, and highly recommend this RV park. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Beautiful RV park that is about one year old. Level concrete sites with picnic tables and barbecue on grass. Interior road is paved and wide. Landscaping is new and very nice with lots of shrubs, flowers and small trees. Lake has fish in it, and there are small boats and paddle boats available. Laundry, toilets, and showers were clean and conveniently located. Some highway noise but not bad. Look for Martin Palmer Drive on the left across from the small fire station. If you end up on the next street, South Port Parkway, keep going since it is a half circle. Great location for exploring Jekyll and St Simons Islands. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Brand new CG. Excellent facilities - paved pads, good grass, comfortable spacing, large pavilion on lake (great for rally's). Wi-Fi (Free Tengo) is cumbersome. I-95 noise looms in the background. Good spot for overnight or base camp, but not as "destination." We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped here for an overnighter on our way north. This is a brand new park not far from I-95. It has everything you will need for a great stay. Wi-Fi is free and great; also great cable TV. No dirt here; park is all blacktop, concrete and luscious grass. Price is not a lot for such a great park. We will definitely stop again and hope to stay over to tour the area. Park is very pet friendly with lots of room to walk along the lake. Anyone looking for a great place to take a group or club, will find a great pavilion to party in, with built in kitchen and fireplace. We will be back; this one's a keeper. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We agree with all of the positives posted here. When driving a 40-42' diesel pusher it is important for us to have adequate clearance when accessing parks from highway to campground. This is certainly the case here. The owner himself drives a large d/p and it shows in the design of this park. The level cement pads are always a plus. The cement pad in the patio area is only large enough for a picnic table. Again what we appreciate is the ease of accessing and setting up on the site. No problems here. We stayed here on the way to and from FL. Our next visit will be for a longer stay to see the islands and surrounding area. And it's primarily because of the draw to this (resort feel) facility. Marble floors and tile throughout the showers and baths. The cleanest we've ever seen. The pool is kidney shaped with nice patio sets and shaded overhangs on the adjoining building. Hook-ups were all placed right at the service bay of our motorhome. No extra hoses and electric cords needed here. If you are traveling with young kids they will be hampered some with activities as we did not see much for them. This place will be our annual stop when coming through this area again. Just what we expect and hope to find when pulling in for a good nights rest in a quality campground/resort. This place wont be a secret for long!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is only 1 year old, so everything is new and works well. Rate is simple: $40/night including taxes. Weekly rate is $240, 7th night free. No discounts, but an excellent value. Most sites are pull-through. No shade sites, so satellite friendly. 50 amp FHU with cable at all sites. Some noise from I-95 but not significant. If you have slides on the curb side there is not room to walk on the pavement. Patio is very small, just large enough for the picnic table, but all sites are nicely landscaped. We will definitely stay here again. This park would be a 10 if we had never stayed at Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort, which is absolutely the best, but more expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice new campground in the Brunswick area. Easy access from I-95 with the noise from the interstate not a factor. Paved roads and sites with most of them being pull-throughs. Sites are available on a small lake. There is a very nice, open air pavilion with a fireplace, gas and charcoal grills, and 2 open fire pits located by the pavilion. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the resort was immaculate and well-landscaped. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
New and very nice sites with exceptions. Pad were not level; noticed at least two other rigs with levelers under wheels; and pads were just a touch too close. Turns in and out made you have to cut across lawn. TV cable is limited. Otherwise OK. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground was well designed and is first class. All facilities are new and spotless. The office staff are well trained wonderful. There was a comment about highway noise. We were in site #210 close to the lake. Across the lake is a large berm and woods. The sound, when noticeable, sound much like surf or "white noise". It was never objectionable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
New Park. Easy access from I-95. All sites have concrete pad, table, excellent utility connections, and landscaped. No large trees but in time the landscaping will grow to a nice size. We stayed 7 nights, paid for 6 and 7th was free. This made the total cost close to other competitors in the area but this facility is by far the best that we have stayed at. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Brand new campground. The management team is very helpful with everything. The sites are all paved and level. There is very pretty planting around each. The hookups are all in great shape. They have pavilion, lake, fishing. Easy on and off I-95. Signs to camp are well marked. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A beautiful new resort with all the amenities. Restrooms are elegant (all tile), large showers, clean as a whistle. Flat cement pads, beautiful landscaped. Lake for fishing, paddle boats for kids, swimming pool, covered pavilion with fireplace, grill, propane heaters and multiple picnic tables for gatherings. Firewood available and propane gas. We'll definitely be back! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Used this new park for an overnight stop on the way to FL. Don't use your GPS, use their directions. There are well placed campground signs as you exit I-95. Easy on/off. Very friendly staff and easy check in. The staff mentioned that next year they will be a Good Sam park, as of now, there are no discounts. A little pricey for an overnight, but a nice park and we would stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Above rate reflects a monthly rate. This is a brand new park with great amenities that seems to have been designed by an RVer for RVers. They have the best bathrooms I've seen in five years of full timing. Two pristine bathhouses with laundry rooms have large tiled showers with changing rooms and individual rooms with toilets, not stalls. Sites are cement - large, level with wonderful grass lawns. Shrubs separate the sites. Streets are wide and paved and easily navigated by Prevosts towing trailers. There is some highway noise due to the proximity to I-95. Close to beautiful Jekyll Island and shopping. Friendly owners/staff are the icing on the cake. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is absolutely fantastic! If there was a 12 on the rating, this would be it! Owner/developer really knows what he is doing. Level, concrete sites with very easy hookups, grass everywhere and it's rich, thick, golf-course style grass. Showers and bathrooms are tiled, beautiful and very clean! No cement floors and cinder blocks walls at all. The pool is clean: but closed for the season when we were here. Great laundry rooms too. Nothing has been overlooked here. Each site has picnic table and charcoal grills. Night lighting is excellent: enough to see well, but not enough to disturb anyone. Wi-Fi has excellent coverage: not a dead spot in the whole park. Close to a good grocery store and restaurants. It has it's own small lake with great fishing: large mouth bass and "pan fish". I just can't say enough good about this park. It has spoiled us for anything else! If you haven't tried this park, please do so soon! It's great! We are full time Refers and we'll be back here soon! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped all down the eastern coast of the United States and this is one of the nicest campgrounds we have found. Although some of the reviews mention road noise from the I-95, we can barely hear the traffic: even outside. This is one of the best designed campgrounds with large sites. We have only found larger sites in state parks. We have found that the Wi-Fi has worked very well, even though it is Tengo Internet. We have had problems with Tengo Internet at other campgrounds. All the facilities are spotlessly clean and the laundry is reasonably priced. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 12 days in a 40' coach, towing a Jeep. We easily pulled through the park and into our site with Jeep attached. As mentioned in other posts, the sites are a little narrow for a "resort" but the park is very well laid out. It is close to I-95 and noise is evident, but was not a bother for us. We toured through the other RV Parks in the area, and this is by far the best park if you are looking for more of a resort environment with big rig accessibility. Although we didn't use the restrooms and showers, we did walk through: they are very nice, however could have been a little cleaner. This park just opened in April 2009: it is very well built with quality buildings and sites. The strip mall that is being built is owned by the park owner and the intentions are to put in businesses that will be a convenience for park guests. We would recommend this place and will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
First class RV park! Has super nice staff and owner. Our coach is forty five feet and we had no problem getting around this park. It's a brand new park with easy on and off access close to interstate. There's some road noise but could not hear it in the coach. Close to all the Golden Islands, St. Simon's, Jekyll Island and Sea Island. There's no other park in the area like this. The lake stocked with fish and paddle boat's are available. There's a nice store on site. We felt safe at night as the park was well lighted. Has concrete pad and paved roads. Can't think of a thing they left out. Will definitely go back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an excellent campground that I can recommend. It is new, well-designed, fully paved even including concrete curbs throughout, all-new buildings including pool, bathrooms, etc., and is well landscaped and cared for. Great for a long stay or a stopover on the way to Florida on I-95. It is reasonably close to Jekyll and St. Simons Islands. I only did not give it a 10 due to a few small issues. It is close to I-95 and there is road noise which may bother some. The sites are a bit close together for a high-end park, probably the inevitable result of today's economics of creating a new park from scratch. The lake is OK, but not clear water--rather, it is full of vegetation as is typical of the area. Insects are also typical of the area--they do spray to keep them down. The cable has a limited choice of channels, though probably adequate for most. The free Wi-Fi is odd--we finally got it to work by moving the location of the computer inside the unit. But in the end these are not deal breakers, and overall this park is a good choice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Despite the other reviewers this park in not a 10. The park is located behind a new strip mall, that the owners are also building. This park is extremely nicely laid out with all concrete slabs, very nice power pedestals, perfect electric. It's obvious that no expense was spared building this park. The cons to this park: It's close to Rt. 95 and there is a lot of road noise. It's nice they have a "Lake", but it's more like swamp marsh and you will get attacked by no-see-umss and mosquitos. The Wi-Fi was poor most of the time. I had to wait until after midnight to get a usable speed. The price is high for SE Georgia. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice campground. Park layout is extremely good. The owners are friendly, level sites with all hook ups. Good basic cable here at no charge. The Wi-Fi service was great. Very clean, well kept campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park will only get better and better as the landscaping matures. Everything about this park is first rate. Wi-fi is great, cable is good, sites are spacious and level. Nice fishing dock and lake that actually has fish in it. Right off I-95, easy in, easy out, and suitable for either an overnight stay, or even longer. Centrally located to visit the coastal islands. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was one of the best layouts for a campground we have seen. Concrete pads that were level and paved asphalt roads. This park was just a short exit from I-95 and had no road noise. They have long pull through sites that will accommodate all size rigs. This is an excellent park to have a rally as the facilities are all new and top notch. Fuel prices are excellent at this exit and were the lowest we found on I-95 in Georgia. We will stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here on a fluke. Got off I-95 to buy peaches and stumbled on this park and am grateful that we found this jewel! What an absolutely gorgeous place. Chatted with the owner-builder of this brand new facility and it is obvious the pride he takes in the place and well as in the construction of it. Everything was done and laid out perfectly. Completely first class. It was a bit more than we wanted to spend but one look changed my mind and it was so completely worth it. Will undoubtedly return!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice play for an overnight stay. Says they have free WiFi, but when I asked I was told it was not working. Restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch. Pool was nice. Sites are gravel and we had a pretty level pull through. Had a picnic table. Some older permanent units and a number of overnights. People in the office were friendly. Would stop here again, but not for more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has friendly staff; with dirt, level pull through sites. Were close to the bath house, laundry, and a maintenance shelter. There is continuous grass cutting, and cleaning of pool. The restaurant was closed while we were here. Not a place for us long term, but would stay again for a couple of days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The place was clean and close to I-95. Its a good stop off for the night. The staff was nice. We pulled in around 8 pm and pulled into a spot and payed in the morning. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We chose this park because it was close to I-95 and about our halfway point on our trip. It was OK for an overnight stay, but we probably wouldn't choose it for an actual visit to the area. The pool wasn't open yet and it was green and smelled pretty bad when you walked by. Might be a good idea to drain it when it's not being used. There was an odor to the water supply, since we didn't intend to stay long, we didn't attach our water filter, so there was a sulfur odor. On the plus side, having the restaurant on site was great because we didn't want to pull out the grill to cook for one night. We were there on a Friday night and they had a seafood buffet which was pretty good! Overall the campground was neat and clean, but I can't imagine there is much to do there for a visit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We needed a place to get away from the traffic for the Easter weekend and stayed here because of Passport America pricing. The park was only a few minutes off I-95 and around the corner from the Flying-J. The Wal-Mart was nearly 30 minutes away. There are a couple storage sheds that seemed to be rented out as cabins. There are several older trailers that look as though they've been there for years with people living in them. The no see ums kept us inside for the weekend. There is a restaurant on site. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed at this campground as a stop over on our way home. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would use this campground for a stop over again but would not stay here for any length of time. The grounds and the sites were un-attended. Campground needs some TLC. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We chose the Golden Isles RV Park because Woodall rated it with a 4 Star for Facilities. They completely missed the mark on this rating. It had rained and the dirt roads were full of mud and water filled potholes. The sites were very muddy. There were a considerable number of travel trailers that appeared to have permanent residents living in them with broken lawn furniture, junk, and dogs tied up in front of them. The trailer across the street from our site had a person in a loud vehicle drive up approximately every half hour until 1:00 am, slamming car doors and talking loudly. We would rate this RV park with just a 1 Star because it had good cable and internet and Fran's Restaurant on-site served excellent food. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is ok for an overnight stay, but I think there may be better places to stay. We arrived to a site that we had to go through two large puddles. Then speed up so as to not get stuck in the mud as we pulled into the site. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to leave the next day without a tow. The area had a lot of rain but the sites could be improved by adding stone to make it better to eliminate the mud. I think we will look for a different place next time through. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stay away from this one. Good Sam dropped the ball on rating this park. We were to stay for three days, but left after spending two smelly evenings. No toilet paper, no paper towels in bathroom. Had a hand dryer, but this didn't work either. A creek ran through a section of the park and it smelled like an open sewer. Bad, bad, bad. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here using our Passport America discount. Sites are pull thrus and are level. Staff is very friendly. Will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Only stayed here one night. No gated entrance. Sites were pretty close to each other where I stayed. Long enough to where I didn't have to detach my toad, though. Restaurant was not open at 9:15 AM for breakfast; seems they're only open from 8-9 AM. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I have stayed in many camp grounds from FL to AK and this one has to be the worse by far..If you like parking in a swamp, then you will love it..I was afraid I was going to bog down when I pulled into my "site". Don't walk in your motorhome with your shoes on or you will be cleaning your rugs or tiles all night long. I didn't report on the bathroom or showers because if they were any example of the "park" they had to be a mess. They also rent out so called cabins. I have seen better on the sugar fields of FL. How Woodall's can give them 4 stars is beyond me, and GS also sponsors them. I would never stay her again. Staying in the Flying J parking lot would have been better. Even my dogs were afraid to venture out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an ok park to stay in for an overnight. It is close to the Interstate and Flying J. The sites are level, inner roads are paved and all sites have a gravel base. I would stay in this park again for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Although this campground is convenient to I-95, it is full of old, derelict, permanent campers. We walked around the campground with our dogs and observed one grubby man cleaning his rifle in his doorway; ancient blue tarps covering roofs; junk piled up outside doors, unleashed dogs and rough looking characters. This was the worst place we ever stayed. We slept with the outside lights on and our gun handy. Better choice would be Jekyll Island Campground. Scary place. Very dirty. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This place was a rat hole. It is the worst place we have ever stayed. We parked next to a "permanent" trailer. Most of the "permanent trailers were falling apart, dirty, cluttered and unkept. We were literally squeezed in next to the next trailer ("permanents") front porch and could hardly get in and out. There was supposed to be a restaurant in the office area, but it was closed which was probably a good thing. The staff was pleasant, but we won't stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Passport America Rate. Park is in a good location near I-95 and many tourist sites/stores. Had tried to book via e-mail and no response. Upon checking they indicated they don't respond to E-mail. Park has a good layout but the roads were narrow. Some Washroom plumbing was worn out and smelled while the restaurant had limited hrs and served mainly a brunch type of meal. WIFI is good while the cable TV had many channels but quite afew were spotty. Some beatup RVs were nearby which made the place look abit rundown We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stopped here several times, and the park is a nice overnight site with several large pull-thru sites. The hookups worked, and the bathrooms were clean, even though the bathrooms were starting to show a little age. The streets/lanes were gravel, and there were a few potholes, but not too bad. There were several rough looking campers (on junky looking sites, one even with the 3-legged cloth Sofa sitting beside the camper) that obviously were rentals and never meant to leave the CG except to a junkyard. Each time, we were towing, and leaving the next day, so we used a pull-thru each time. They were easy to get in and out. But, they were grassy, and needed mowing. What they don't mention is that the Buffet and any other food on site is shut down on weekends (in the winter?). The real plus of this CG to me, is the fact that it is only a mile from US-95, and when you want to pull-out in the morning there is a very nice Flying-J along with a couple of other re-fuel and food stores before you get back onto US-95. Overall, a nice CG; clean, but sagging in places. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice location, which is easy to get to and back on the interstate. It has everything I need for traveling, full hook ups and a place to park. The place is worn, and needs updating but sufficient for the traveling public. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
There are many grungy rusty camper bodies with people living in them. Still, it is quiet at night and only ten minutes from the ocean. The WIFI is good. There is a Restaurant on site. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park has not improved much since our last stop In April 07. Park fine for just an overnight stop or a day or two to visit the Islands, would not want to spend much time here. We noticed many long term sites that definitely needed attention and clean up! Most folks did not obey the posted speed limit and it was difficult to walk without a careful eye to the drivers. Office staff were abrupt and acted as if we were imposing on their time. Park appeared to cater to their long term folks, and the office was always full of everyone ' chatting all day.' We used Passport America so price was right for overnight stop on our way south. Would probably stop again just because it's easy off I-95. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We did not feel good about staying in this park. We left not sure we would get a refund. We did less $5.. The place needs a lot of cleaning up. I would not recommend this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an old ex- KOA that appears to cater more to permanent residents. All the dumpsters had doors wide open and there were lots of flies. It makes a convenient overnight stop if you don't mind slumming a bit. When I dumped tanks I had to do it slowly to keep sewage from sloshing out of drain. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We would not use this as a destination park, but it is not a bad park to stay for overnight or if sightseeing in the area. Sites were level and easily accessible. Bathrooms were not great, but not terrible. We stayed as Coast to Coast members. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a very pleasant stay at this campground. While the campground is somewhat small and does not have tons of amenities, the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the place more than made up for it. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice place, though I used it just for a stop-over while whizzing north. Seemed to be nicely laid out. easy to get to. Am sure to keep it in mind again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I was expecting a lot worst campground based on the previous reviews. It does have some older units and some shading looking characters walking around, but it was ok for the money. For $17.00 you get cable, pretty good wifi, and full hook up. We decided to stay a few extra days to visit Jekyll Island .. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a passort america park. Paid $15. Old park with too many long term residents. One guy started up his old clunker at 8am and revved the engine for a hour. There is also a torn up looking tent shelter that has someone living in it. When we walked the campground one night we witnessed a drug deal and then the seller started banging on his camper door as his "lady" wouldn't let him in. Lots of old decaying campers at this campground. Wifi was good, electric good, water and sewer good. Tight spots, but pull through. IF you're looking for just an overnight and are in a tight spot this is worth it using Passport America. At regular price there are much better choices to be had. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I give this park a 4 simply for its location and the free Wi-Fi and cable. The sites are narrow, the campground has not been improved in the two years since we were here last and the same tired trailers of permanent residents are still here. At lunchtime the parking lot out front is packed for the noon buffet, the staff is friendly and the price using Passport America is very reasonable for a full hook up 50 amp site with cable and Wi-Fi. We were next door to a family with several children and a pit bull. Enough said. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We wintered in Brunswick , GA. at Golden Isle. Spent 2 months there. It was enjoyable. Park had a lot of construction workers so a little noisy in the morning. Lots of things in area to see & do . Our lot was spacious. We will return to this park . Owners are friendly, staff is very helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was one of the times when I kick myself for not stopping in front of the campground, asking to go walk inside and see some of the sites first. I would never, ever stay here again. I wish I could post some of the photos I took. I did hear the restaurant was good but it was closed by the time we arrived (only for breakfast and lunch). There seems to be a lot of activity during the day when many people are working. Seems you can earn your site free and daily buffet lunches if you work 20 to 25 hours a week. There were a lot of long term rv's here and a lot of OLD ones. Most should have antique license plates on them! The staff was very nice during check in. I reported a serious water leak coming out of the top screw of the water handle and they said someone would come fix it but no one did. I just let the water flow. There is a lot of road construction nearby on I95 and it also appears a lot of workers are staying in this "campground". There were not hardly any children there and I would not recommend you taking yours there...(we have none)..Enough said! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sites were close and cramped. Lots of live in workers. Good overnighter but not a destination place. Other side of this was friendly staff and great little restaurant. Would stay overnight again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites are very narrow and not kept up. Coke bottles used for sewer plugs. An awning may be covering the utilities of the adjoining site. It appears that renovations were started but are either stopped or very slow. The bathhouses were clean. Wireless was available and working. There are a large number of permanent residents in rundown travel trailers living in the park. There are several other parks close by that are much better. We would not return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
My comments about this campground may be obsolete and I hope they have upgraded their act. They would not honor my reservations (passport America) claimed they were full and wanted full price. I would not pay the full price to stay there. It appears their interest in the on-site restaurant was of greater importance than the Campground. Don't use their restrooms. We camped here in a Motorhome.
