Maybe it's the wrong time of year. It was muddy and filthy. Dog poo all over the place and dirty diapers in the fire pit. No internet and my phone only worked part time. It was quiet. That is the only positive I can think of. We will not stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This CG is a bit out of the way but we have family here and it was the closest CG to them. The road leading in is narrow. If you have a big rig, watch out for anyone speeding towards you. The interior roads of the CG are packed dirt and extremely bumpy. Hold on! Some advice, call ahead. We usually do, but at this time of the year we knew it wouldn't be full and didn't bother to call. As expected, there was plenty of space, but call because this property is gated. At the gate you are instructed to use the phone above the keypad to call. The phone DOESN'T WORK! The other option was to call the number listed there. A note ...Verizon does not have coverage here. Thankfully we had another cell phone, a cheap Walmart phone, and it worked. The woman at check in was very nice, the CG accepts PA, we paid $16.50. All the sites are grass. Hook ups were fine. No cable, the free wifi was poor. The restrooms/showers are huge and clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a generous rating and although we were not impressed, it may appeal to other campers who are looking for this type of campground. The site was large and got excellent satellite reception and the owners are very friendly and helpful. But, the roads are so dusty that everything is covered with a layer of dirt which will be a layer of mud had it rained. There are NO RULES at this campground. People pretty much do as they please and dogs roam free everywhere. It is loud and caters to the tent campers who have the best sites and camp in large family groups. The road leading to the campground has MAJOR potholes so beware and luckily it was dry but during rain this could be very hazardous. The river is beautiful, however there really is no access other than traipsing through someone's tent site and slipping down a precarious path. The beach area is all tent campsites so not truly accessible for getting full use of the river. It is what it is, a rustic, river campground with few amenities, 1 bathhouse with 2 stalls in the men room for throngs of tent campers, so it is as clean as you would expect under the circumstances. We were expecting more and would have given a higher rating had the one drawing point, the river, been actually accessible and viewable from the campsites. We will not be back and actually left 1 day early from our holiday weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground nestled in the hills of the Georgia mountains. It is a gated community with security. We made our reservation using our Passport America membership. Our site was in RV5. Located in a small valley between two hills the area was beautiful with vibrant fall colors by day and starlit skies at night. Our pull thru site was a concrete slab, level and large enough to hold our 40ft travel trailer, tow vehicle and another vehicle. The slab was also wide enough that everything under the extended awning was able to sit on concrete. We had full hook up, 50amp, 30amp, and household plugs were available on the pedestal, no cable. TV antenna reception was marginal on 6 channels. If you want a fire bring your own fire pit, no ground fires. There are horse stables on the property and trail rides are available. We saw two playgrounds, a lake and a nice looking chapel. The Staff we met were friendly, kind and courteous. Just a suggestion!! When driving to R Ranch from Dahlonega which about 7 miles away. Take the left fork onto Yahoola Road off of 19. From Yahoola Road turn right onto Stone Pile Gap Road and R Ranch will be on your left as you approach. The entrance is in a right turning curve so you almost drive straight into the main entrance. There are 3 slots for parking while registering. If you drive on 19 until the R Ranch signs you will turn left off of 19 and your next turn is a tight hairpin turn to the left as you drive to the R Ranch. From this direction as you approach the entrance you will be in a left turning curve and have to make a 120 degree right turn to enter. Arrival from Yahoola Road also provides a milder grade, not as steep as directly off of 19 at the R Ranch signs. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed our stay at this park. Beautiful location tucked in the mountains. Stayed in the RV-5 area with concrete pad. Only drawback is the swimming pool is at the lodge, quite a distance from the campground. We booked through Coast-to-Coast. Campground charged an extra $2.50 a night user fee. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OK, I called this place. It is a "PRIVATE" resort only, so unless you are an owner or guest of an owner, or Passport America member: you are not camping here. Previous reviews leave this small detail out. So, this is not a pull up or make reservations kind of a place. Just FYI. We camped here in a Motorhome.
