The owners took a narrow wedge of land between the railroad track and the river, and converted it to an RV park in 2006. The RV park is only 100 feet wide and 200 yards long. The PRO's are the road inside the park is new, the showers/laundry are spotless, the river view is great. The manageress,is a sweetheart. The Con's are, the site is built on the entrance road to the City Works Dept, and the access road for all that traffic runs through the park, within feet of the RVs, commencing at 7 AM SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! There is considerable road noise from highway 12 which runs on the other side of the river. The rail cars are an eyesore, and are only 50+ feet from your RV, and on the days that the train comes in, which is not too often, it arrives at 6 AM blasting it's horn yards from your RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice new park. Asphalt roads, level gravel sites with nice picnic tables. The bathrooms and showers were about the nicest I have ever seen and we were full-timers. Most sites line up right on the Clearwater river. The sound of the river all night was a plus. The sound of highway traffic across the river wasn't. Hookups were solid. Wi-Fi was good -- solid but slow which is typical of most RV parks. The park itself is a 10. Unfortunately, there are no amenities and the entrance to it is over rough railroad tracks and thru a seedy industrial area. Unless you are a steelhead fisherman, there isn't much to do in Orofino either. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This is a relatively new park. Roads are asphalt in very good condition. Sites have concrete pads and tables in very good condition. The view of the river (almost all sites are waterfront) is great but was surprised that there was no river traffic. Electricity, Wi-Fi, and water pressure were strong and consistent. The only thing that keeps this from being a 10 is the location. You are between the river and some railroad tracks (with numerous RR cars parked there) and the road across the river that has heavy truck traffic. The noise from the road is rather loud at times. The other issue is the entrance to the park. You have to go over some very rough RR tracks and through an industrial type area. But the minuses are far outweighed by the positives. This is a very, very good stop over or place to spend a few days. There are other campgrounds in the area, but from from our viewpoint this is clearly the best. We would definitely stay here again. Did I mention that the manager was super and went out of her way to help us and made several very good suggestions as to where to go and what to see? We camped here in a Motorhome.

This Forest Service campground is in a gorgeous area of the Clearwater National Forest right off of scenic Highway 12 on the Lochsa River. The Lochsa Lodge is nearby with an excellent restaurant. There was only one reason for the rating of 8 and that was due to personnel. The campground was about to be upgraded to 50 amp, but the camp host could not give us any information as to when this would be started or which part of the campground they would start on first and did not seem to really care if we were inconvenienced. Consequently, on our third night there, the construction crew set up shop in the site right next to ours and so instead of the birds being our alarm, the sound of heavy equipment woke us at 7:30am. Other then that small inconvenience this would definitely be a park we would visit again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an outstanding USFS campground located 12 miles west of Lolo Pass. Site 22 in the electric loop is a very large pull-thru with direct access to the river. Lots of trees and space between sites. Very quiet and peaceful. Only problem is the low voltage of the electric and fluctuations in current. Campground Host said this is to be improved. Several nice trails nearby and a lodge, restaurant and store within walking distance. Some sites can be reserved. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here many times and will again. Campground sits along the Lochsa River which is a great fishing river and known for its class IV rapids. Asphalt pads are generally deep and level and the sites are well separated. Do watch for voltage drops in loop A (loop with power) as they can be significant. We camped here in a Motorhome.

An excellent choice for an overnight or longer. Only downside is that there are no showers. Half-price for us more "mature" individuals. We camped here in a Motorhome.

WOW what a nice camp ground. What can I say. BLM did a good job on the camp ground and the host was so helpful. Great beach. Clean Clean, good job BLM. This camp ground is better than the so called $50.00 a night camp grounds for only $9.00 for the older people. It needs showers, but the rest rooms are very clean We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best Federal Campcrounds I have ever stayed in and I have been on the road for 5 years. The host is great and very helpful. This camp ground is very well kept and is a treat to stay at for anyone who looks for a clean well manicured. The bathrooms are very clean unlike a lot of places I have stayed. There is a clean beach where you can relax and take a dip in the Clearwater River. I just can not say enough about this camp ground, great job BLM. It is very quiet and the host checks the grounds at night to ensure the security of the campers. GO THERE, I will again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
