We are full-timers and we stay in this area in the spring and the fall for a month each. Heartland is roomy and easily accessed. There are seasonal areas, but we stay in a section of shorter term stays and with pull-throughs. There are several amenities like a camp store, swimming area, miniature golf, and par three golf. The laundry room is a little hard to get to and small...only four washers and dryers. The highway noise is there, but not terribly intrusive. This is a good place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a huge place, but eight miles off freeway. Wi Fi is a no go and you would have to rent a modem!!! Gravel overnight lots. Not worth the rent, even with Good Sam discount. We will not stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good place for just overnight stay. MUCH interstate noise, but we did sleep. No shade, water pressure so-so. Zero activities. Gravel spot requiring some leveling. Next to storage. No view. Closest to our objective and we have used before. Need cable or something to be more attractive to campers. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As one reviewer said, this place is huge, and with the temperatures hovering around 101 we didn't venture out to inspect all the amenities. We are in a full service pull through that, unbelievably, took us less than a minute to level. First priority was hooking up the electric so we could get the A/C going. Second was to pull the drapes and lower the shades because there is nothing of any beauty or interest to look at here. The gravel sites are overgrown with weeds, there is no shade, we're by the storage yard, and did I mention it was blazing hot? The voltage is marginal running two A/C's. The water at this site is clear. With the A/C's running we can't hear any road noise. All we really wanted to do was to get through Indianapolis on this holiday, so we could leave out from this side of the city in the morning. There aren't many choices of RV parks and this one was the least expensive. At one time this was probably a nice family resort. We wouldn't want to stay longer than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We needed a home base for visiting family, since we were traveling with our 8-mo-old puppy and we didn't want to stay in their house with the rambunctious pup. Indy-area campground options are very poor. We had planned to use the fairgrounds, but learned that pup wouldn't be able to exercise there. So someone recommended this place. Oy vey. So much awry, from the mix of really trashy vehicles, poorly maintained sites, and brown "drinking" water (seriously brown) to site assignment. Why assign a short-term visitor to the site farthest from the entrance (the place is HUGE), smack-dab against I-70 when there were so many open sites during our visit (mid-week, before "the season" began)? Noisy, unlevel, too far from Wi-Fi to get signal, and way overpriced at $35. The only ray of sunshine is that we discovered an enormous meadow, surrounded by trees, where no one was looking and we could break the rules and throw tennis balls for the pup. He loved that. I imagine if you are there "for the season" as many seem to be, you might be happy with the leafy trees. But that interstate noise just ruins any state-park feeling that might arise. I will add that we were politely accommodated at our late check-in (after 9 PM), but sure could have used an escort in the dark across that huge property. We camped here in a Motorhome.

As others have said, this is a "use to be" resort. It's ok for an overnight if you're not too fussy about the landscaping. Our pull-through site had a pile of junk on it that appeared to the remains of a metal fire pit. The grass was long and trim areas around the utilities were even longer. The Interstate noise is constant, with a bump that sounded like thunder every time a truck hit it. The Wi-Fi works, but it's very slow. The Verizon voice and data signals were good. We would over night here again only if there were no other nearby options. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a poor choice. A 'Resort' it isn't although it is evident that it tried once many years ago. The place is huge. The transient plots were weedy, loosely packed gravel and not mowed. The tennis courts and 'miniature golf' courses were broken up and overgrown with weeds. The pool had conveniently 'closed' 15 min before we checked in although they did have a small swimming lake with a nice sand beach. The sites were fairly level but many of the sewer connections were broken (including ours). We appeared to be the only overnighter in the park but there did seem to be many full time residents or at least seasonals and their area looked better maintained. I would not stay here again We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy access on east side of Indy off I-70. Stayed in June - so indoor pool closed. Parked by lake - it was nice. Quiet in the eve. Wi-Fi - never were able to connect even though we were told we were in a very good spot for reception. Par 3 9 hole golf course was fun to play - well mowed. This looks like in it's 'hay-day' it was quite the place to go - needs new life and repainting done. All in all a good place to stay. Lots of families as kids loved the "swimming' hole" We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed at Heartland many times but probably no more. The relatively new big rig section (the 700's) is deteriorating quickly. Our site last month was not level, the sewer pipe was broken off below ground (as are several), and the water pressure dropped so low on several days that we had to use our fresh water tank and pump to take showers. There also is continuous interstate noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No cable, sites not level, and power ran a little low. Nice area and would be nice for an extended stay, fishing pond and small golf course. But for an overnight stay it is not a resort. it is easy in and out, about 4 miles from exit on narrow country roads, and you are within sight of the interstate when you are parked. You can hear it. I rated this campground a 2,there was something wrong with the water, it was very rusty, and smelled bad. The bathroom were very dirty and also smelled bad. I'm glad we had our trailer to shower in. The Wi-Fi cost $4.99 for 24 hours, the signal was very low, and the time was only 21 hours. The only good thing about this campground was that we could pick up satellite TV. Will not stop here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We've stayed here before: the pull-through sites are easy to access and pretty level. I think the service could be described as minimally acceptable. Office staff are efficient, but seem to feel inconvenienced by customers, even for arrivals. I'm glad we didn't have serious issues! The water is full of minerals, (Park's pipes are seriously rusty) and the grass must have been allowed to grow pretty high before it was mowed since we had piles of clippings everywhere. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I will say what I read in the last two reviews pretty much says it all. To add, the water was so bad that it left brown stains on our shower floor. I felt like I was washing dishes in dirty water. We had to pay another $4.99 for Internet service. You could only get a Good Sam discount if you stayed two nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate given Good Sam discount. This campground is not what I would call a resort. What it looks like is a former classy place that has been run down over the years. The campground road has holes in the concrete that will damage your tires. The laundry is filthy and half the washing machines don't work. Three pay phones on site looked like they haven't been used in years. Wifi was not strong enough for a usable signal at our site. The only positive, our site was nearly level and had a big shade tree. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Here are 125 acres that could be made a showplace for a campground BUT they can't seem to figure out how to do it. There is a lower level across the stream that is inhabited primarily by seasonals. They are (mostly) kept very neat and tidy and they are very friendly. Lots of shade in this area. Other areas have less shade and are rather randomly parked. There are many near the fishing lake: many seem to be there for the duration and the swimming lake is filled with the children of the families that live here. Several other buildings have names but one has no idea what is in the building. One could have been a gift shop or grocery store but it was unidentified and there was no supplies in the main office even though several people seemed to work in there and there was lots of room. Again, they just don't seem to know what to do with all the space! They even have a par three golf course with plenty of clubs for your use. No one played all the while we were here and it used up lots of space that could have been used for something else. WiFi is available FOR A PRICE, with no guarantee of it working. I paid the daily rate ($4.95) but was unable to get on their site. Seems like a money maker for them: whether it works for you or not. Garbage is collected at your site but no one ever said when they might come by. One day they came by around 3:00 and the next day at 8:30 a.m. Often times bags of garbage just laid by the roads until they did come by. If they ever get their act together, this could be one of the premier campgrounds in the midwest. Until then, I think I'd try the KOA right at the exit instead of maneuvering your rig 4+ miles down a NARROW two lane backroad. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was an "OK" park. It was clean, but we were put in a slot that was out by I-70, which was a little noisy at night. The fishing was so-so. Did not find the attendants to be overly nice. They did have a small playground which was clean and had a small retention pond for fishing. There is an indoor pool, but it was not open when we were there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We weren't overly impressed with our one-night stay at Heartland Resort. The park wasn't visually appealing and looked a bit run-down. The staff seemed all right, but the RV sites left something to be desired. While they do have decent-looking sites in some areas of the park, those in the area where we camped were some combination of grass, dirt, and gravel and would make for some very interesting camping during and after a rain. The thing that really left us with a negative opinion of Heartland, though, is the proximity of the campground to the Interstate. Many of the sites in the park are no more than 1000 feet from I-70, and we got one of them. The traffic noise made sleep almost non-existent. If you are in a pinch and need a place to crash for the night Heartland Resort would work. However, I am not recommending this park to anyone who cannot sleep through the nearly constant pounding of vehicles (though, a handful of sites are further from the freeway, and might possibly be a bit quieter). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were visiting family over Labor Day. This park was clean although it could have used a bit more TLC in the mowing department. Quite a few permanent sites: campers were not very friendly and we tried. Office staff was friendly enough but not very professional. Our site wasn't very level. The stream, ponds and golf course were pretty cool. Visitors were charged $4 admission to sit with us at our site (not by us!) They weren't using any facilities or activities. For one thing the swimming pool was a disaster. It got the job done for us, but wasn't very impressive. We would stay here again only because of the proximity to our grandchildren. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park appears to be more suited to the permanent residents than travelers. The people at the office were not very friendly or knowledgeable. The park is divided into three seperate areas and the two bathhouses are both located in the area where the permanent residents are located. The site we were given was approximately 1/2 mile from the restrooms/bathhouses. The washers and dryers were filthy, the tennis courts were overgrown with weeds, the pool was dirty and the nearby interstate highway traffic sound was very loud. When we arrived at our site, the 50 amp plug was damaged on our power pole, but usable. The second day of our visit, we returned from touring the area to find that the power pole and entire meter box was laying in pieces next to our motorhome with our power cord lying unplugged next to it. When I went to the office to inquire about what had happened, I was told that the handyman had left to find a part and would be back soon. I asked why we were given a site which needed repairs when there were several sites adjacent which appeared to be in good repair. Our overall impressions were, obviously, not good and we could not recommend this campground to anyone. There are two other campgrounds witinin a mile or so which might be a better choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were passing through, so all we cared about was a quiet, flat, level site we could get into and out of easily. We were satisfied, but no further than that. Surprisingly high amount of highway noise from I-70, even though I estimate we were almost 1/2 mile north. With the windows all shut, it wasn't an issue, but sitting outside in the evening it was intrusive. The one shower I used apparently was the one out of 3 that had almost no water pressure. AFTER I finished (dumb me!) I tested the other 2 and found good pressure in each of them! Shame on me. Other than that, we were not upset with much, but won't make a point to go back, unless it turns out to be exactly where we decide we simply must pull off the road for the night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We made last minute reservations at Heartland Resort. We stayed for two days. The park offers a lot of activities, but there appeared to be no real effort in the up keep of the park. Great potential, but poorly run. I've stayed there 3 times prior and this was their last shot. They blew it. The workers just aren't nice, and the campground needs work. Even worse, the long term residents seemed to have the same attitude as the management. I can't name one specific thing that they did, but you just kind of get the feeling that you are not wanted. No problem at all, you don't want me, so long. It's too bad because with a little imagination and hard work, this could be a really nice camping facility. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Ok, I will start with the bad first: only bad thing that I didn't really like was the water at this park, it smelled and had alot of iron in the water. If you stay here buy some Iron Out for you sinks and your white laundry, etc. The staff was OK: not really friendly and not really unfriendly. Some sites do have shade. The small fishing pond was nice to have. They pick up your garbage every morning if you leave it out at your site. If you stay monthly then you do have to mow your lawn. All in all not a really bad place to stay if you can handle the water. Walmart is close by also. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the 50 amp pull through section which has sites that were roomy. Very nice separation between RVs. Roads could be a little better and perhaps a little TLC on the grading of the sites, but it was a good place. You could see there is a lot of seasonal visitors and activities for them to enjoy. We only stayed 3 nights and the park was adequate for our needs. Do have one negative comment, the water is terrible! We camped here in a Motorhome.

In all my years of camping, by far the worst experience ever. We called ahead to see if the pool was open for the kids and they said yes. We got to the pool about 6:45 and it was closed although it was posted to be open until 8:30. When I talked to the owner he said, "If you don't like it, don't come back!" No problem there! This park is a mixture of good and bad and that depends on where you park. If you park in the area with 50 amp service the park is pretty good. If you park in the 30 amp service area, the park is a pit. We chose 30 amp service because of the time of year and felt like we were camping in a dump. The sites were not mowed, there was trash in the fire ring and there were monthly residents whose sites were just horrible. The manager was OK when we checked in but nothing special. Might stay here for an emergency overnight but with other parks in the area, it would be only if I had no other choice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Large park with easy big rig access - close to I70 and you can hear the freeway quite well. Very convenient to Indianapolis. We have stayed there 4 times and would return. Suggest asking for a site as far from the freeway as possible if noise is a concern. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is named the Heartland Resort. It would be more appropriate if they named it the Heartland Slum. When we arrived, although we had reserved a site long enough for our 41 foot motorhome and tow car, the site they put us in had both hanging over the road. The site itself was filty--trash all over the ground, the fire ring full of trash that hadn't been emptied in weeks, grass up to your kneecaps, a very rusty water connection, and dust, dust, dust everywhere. Calling this place a resort is like calling a rowboat the Queen Mary. And, on top of their healthy overnight fees (with no cable TV), they charged $5.00 per night for wi-fi, and charged also for use of miniature golf, plus a $4.00 per day charge for any guest you have stop by. A terrible place. Stay away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 7 months until it got too cold. Very nice campground. The owners are friendly and the campground is well kept. It has very nice lake views and a beautiful 9 hole par 3 golf course. There are fire pits at every site and a small swimming lake with a sand beach. It is very crowded in the summer months and very family oriented. They have a golf cart parade every weekend for the kids, as well as hay rides. Very nice park and would highly recommend it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a very nice park with a lot of amities. They have a nice sandy beach and indoor
swimming pool. Sites were shaded, however it looked like the newer area w/ 50 Amp hook-up was all gravel? The parade of "gulf carts" was hilarious. Large bathroom / shower facilities, however we did not use them. The interior roads were a little tight but manageable for our 33' 5'er. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Quite a few seasonal RV's there, but we didn't feel out of place as most were friendly. The campground is just a few miles from Indianapolis, and close to shopping and restaurants. We will use this facility again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here from March 02 to June 03. Had to mow our site in the summer but they
provided a mower to use. They plowed the onsite roads during the winter months. Enjoyed the par 3 - 9 hole golf course and the indoor swimming pool. The bigger pull thru sites (no shade trees) were put in around the fall of 02. We had a telephone hookup at our site but we had to call the local phone company to come out and activate it. The golf cart parades during the weekends were a kick as were the festivities during the holidays. We really loved Elvince the Elvis impersonator over the
4th of July weekend. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spent Labor Day weekend at the campground. All in all, it is not a bad campground. I really felt they misrepresented the site we got. They said it was a new pull through site that didn't have shade. It turned out to be a gravel parking lot. No trees or grass. Not my idea of camping. There were sites in a wooded area which looked really nice, but mostly seasonal folks there. If it weren't for the people running the place, it would be a nice place. We got to our site and after being disappointed because it was a parking lot, I started to hook everything up. Our sewer connection was about 3 feet off the ground (about a foot and a half higher than the drain on my camper.) They just hadn't cut it off. I didn't have a problem with that as long as they took care of it. When my wife went to the front desk to explain the situation with them all they wanted to do was argue with her and tell her she didn't know what she was talking about and that they would get to it the next day. When my wife suggested that we not pay for sewer hookup that night, their reply was, we didn't need to hook it up that night anyway. So much for customer service. The next day a friend of mine we were camping with had brought along a go-ped (motorized scooter) to ride up to the camp store and back (not all over the place.) I will say the rules were a little grey in this area as to if it was allowed. Well one of the seasonal "security guards" pulled him over with his golf cart with siren and hollered at him to get that thing put up. My friend (who I heard) explain very calmly that it didn't say anywhere in the rules that he couldn't ride it and that he wasn't hurting anyone or anything, the guy lost it. My friend then pointed out they should be more worried about letting 8 year olds drive golf carts all over the place than an adult taking a leisurely ride on a go-ped, the man yelled some more. My friend said he would put it up and not ride it any more then. That was that, we thought. The man then went to get an owner and bring her, back for round two. I guess he thought he had his authority questioned. They seemed more worried about their seasonal campers than anyone else. We both stood there and talked to the owner and worker and explained, we had enjoyed the park so far, but because of their attitude we certainly wouldn't be back, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone we knew. Again, if it wasn't for the staff I would rate it much higher. We camped here in a camper.

Something for curt, nitpicky campground owners to keep in mind: "They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel." Wi-Fi is spotty. A couple of the campground volunteers are outstanding. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is KOA Value Card Rate. This campground in my opinion does not measure up to the standards of KOAs we have stayed in before. Sites are all gravel as are the roads which have some potholes. We stayed in E24, this site was not level. This campground is in dire need of maintenance and updating. NO cable and Wi-Fi is very spotty. Campground is divided by a small creek. It is best not to stay in the section close to the office as there is very little shade. The other section does have shade. There is a RV sales and service facility next door for supplies and services if needed. The price we paid even with the 10% discount far exceeds the price that should be charged: this is probably a $30 - $35 campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have stayed at many KOAs, and am a KOA member. If you do not care about WI-FI and don't mind spending nearly twice what you should, then this park is for you. Sites were nice size with connections in the right place. TV is from antenna which was fine. They should not even say they have WI-FI. We stayed at another park last night that had super good WI-FI with the same services except a pool and it was $28. I am usually not cheap, but $53 with no cable TV or workable WI-FI is ridiculous. This campground is easily accessible from I-70. We had a long, level pull-through site which was quite roomy and we liked the fact that the sites were offset and approached from alternating directions. However, we would have preferred not to have shared utilities even though they worked well, with the exception of low electrical voltage due to the high use of air conditioners, because of the 95 degree weather. Even though we didn't use the pool, it looked sparkling clean and inviting. We would definitely return to this park if in the area. We stayed one night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice campground, but I can see where it might get some mixed reviews due to the variability in the individual sites. Our site was in the northwest section, right next to the creek (the campground is divided in half by the creek), and is probably one of the best sites in the campground as we had no neighbor sharing our green space and there was plenty of room. However, some sites are very narrow and share space with another RV. The pool was great and it had a nice playground. The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner, but not bad at all. We would definitely stay here again as long as we could get one of the nicer sites, but not if we could only get one of the narrow, shared space sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We are very disappointed with this campground, and our decision to stay there. $52 is outrageous for what is offered. First, the good - the staff was very friendly, long pull-through so we could stay connected, and good Wi-Fi. That is it, and not worth anywhere near what they charge. Our site was long, but very narrow and not level. The shower was disgusting, wads of hair blocking the drain that served both stalls. One stall did not even have a curtain. We are fulltimers, and have stayed in lots of places over the years, ranging from free to lots of money; we don't mind paying if you get good amenities, not the case here. We will not come back. Stayed in a back-in site with full hook-ups. Site had a concrete patio which was nice. There was no shade: few of these type sites have shade. Some road noise from interstate but not bad at this part of the RV park. When we were ready to leave, we had a slide that would not go in. The near-by RV dealership would not come out to repair but the KOA staff helped to find a mobile repair service. RV park staff very helpful and friendly. Wi-Fi at site worked well. Nice campground, some sites have cement formed patios but cost more. Stayed here over the Indy 500 weekend. Sites were full but folks were courteous, no loud noise at night. Wi-Fi did not work all that great. Biggest complaint was all the workcampers speeding around on the golf carts. Signs posted 5 MPH: folks in the carts drove much too fast kicking up dust as they drove by. Convenient to I-70. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As with my last comments on this park, it is a nice park. The employees were much nicer this time. You will still need a good filter and a water softener will work wonders on the rust stains you will get if there for a little while. Sites are very long; we have a 34 foot with a dolly towing a Pontiac Vibe. A little difficult on the turn at the office but we were able to complete it without hitting anything. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a hard one to rate. Owners are trying to update and improve and seem to be doing OK at it, but it still is an old KOA with a real tight turn by the office. If you are a regular you can take the back gate to your site and then go to the office by car or on foot to check in, but if in your coach stay as far as you can to the right when you get to the office as you have to go left and clear the rec room. Very do able just stay to right. It is in the woods so watch for limbs also, particularly when going around playground in new section. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lovely, lovely! This large KOA is well maintained, and has two big RV sections. We stayed in an RV spot, while other family members stayed in one of the darling cabins. Bonus was the friendly horse near the cabins, who enjoyed our company. Some highway noise is discernable at night, otherwise this CG was quiet and comfortable. Good check-in, and accommodating staff. This is a nice choice for an overnight stop, or if you have plans in the area north of Indy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were in the newer "deluxe" section which is very nice. Our site was a long and wide pull-through. The small concrete patio was a nice addition. This KOA is clean and seems to be well maintained. Because we were only staying overnight, we had sufficient length for our motorhome and our towed car. 50 AMP, Water, Sewer & WI-FI, but no Cable. This is a nice campground set a little ways away from the city; it is near an interstate, but we did not find the highway noise terribly obtrusive. Restrooms were clean and in good repair, and the showers were hot, and with adequate water pressure. The wi-fi was excellent, and plenty fast. We got a spot that was a little on the small side for our big tent, and lacked shade. It wasn't a deal-killer for us, and when I mentioned it at checkout, the management said we should have spoken up--they'd have moved us! Great place to stay; we'll be back! We camped here in a Tent.

Very dissatisfied with this campground. The restrooms and showers were dirty and out of date. Flies were everywhere in the laundry. I was scared to use the pool because the water was dirty and green. In addition, young children were in the pool without an adult in attendance. The staff was unfriendly and would not allow a tent at our site for children, while we could see other nearby RV sites with tents. There were few cold items available in the camp store. Not sure if it was due to all the rain this spring but the campground looked somewhat unkept or maybe just an older KOA. Most of the roads are gravel along with sites. Many of the sites actually have grass growing where the units pull in – coming through the gravel. Surprised to find our site to be level. The deluxe sites will surely accommodate any length of unit with toad. Due to placement of water/electric we actually had to back up our TT in order to use our cord as it was not long enough and added hose length for water. This put our steps into grass area vs next to patio. Very disappointed in WI-FI – why advertise WI-FI when it does not work even on the deluxe sites. They stated if your laptop had Vista or Windows 7 there have been problems. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall though, we will likely not return unless really need to be in the area. Will not visit if just to get away for a weekend etc. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here before and it seemed like a good place. However, we will never stay again. The owner does not consider the safety or rights of his guests. We requested a site across from the playground so we could watch our child play while sitting at our trailer. On a Sat morning, we witnessed the owner spraying weed killer on the playground. He did not display any warnings that this was done. This is against the "Right to Know Law" from the EPA. Would you want your child to play in this playground? We payed for two nights and needed to leave because of the spraying. We had someone with asthma and the child could not play in the playground. We asked for a refund for the second night and was refused. I have read other reviews that commented on the owners poor customer service and witnessed this first hand. We really enjoyed our stay at this campground. The staff greeted us warmly upon arrival and escorted us to our site. After a long drive this was very much appreciated. There are many large pull through sites that could accommodate all size rigs. There are many shady sites or also open sites if satellite is needed. Our site had a nice concrete patio and was a good size. The campground was very well maintained and landscaped. There was a pretty waterfall by the main entrance and a recreation room with video games, ping pong tables, and a nice area for groups to meet or to play cards with friends The bathrooms were very clean and air conditioned. The location is near the highway, but the traffic noise was not very noticeable. It was very convenient to downtown Indianapolis with access to 465, 70, and 65. Our kids loved the activities over the weekend. They really liked the hay ride, cotton candy, and root beer floats. We also enjoyed the breakfast on Saturday. The pancakes were yummy! Plus, I didn't have to cook! We will definitely stay here again, In fact, we have made reservations again in October. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This place is horrible. You have to share the side by side hook-ups. The water faucet leaked and caused a large mud puddle by the hook up area. We never could get straight because of being on an angle. The ground was not level at all. The water smells like blood because of the iron content. Very heavy smell. The sinks and toilets in the guest area were stained very badly because of the iron content in the water. We were very unhappy with our site. The grass is at least 6" tall; and the gravel on the site that you park on, has not been replaced in probably 10 years. The picnic table was so badly warped you could not use it if you wanted to. We had registered to stay two nights; my first night had to be paid for when I made the reservation. I asked that they please refund the second night because we had changed our minds and did not want to stay two nights. I was told NO. I had made the reservation, they had me here for two days and needed 48 hours to cancel. I left the next morning because the site was so uneven and had very large tree stumps that I had to drive over. It was difficult to even walk inside my 40 foot unit because the site was so uneven. Even though I paid for it, I did not want to spend another night here at all. I will never go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We made this a quick stopover on a 900-mile two-day trek on I-70. We appreciated the easy freeway access and proximity to Pilot. Signage could be a bit clearer. We thought we had missed a turn, but we didn’t. Swing wide as you approach the office, as the turn is a bit tight around the building. Our pull-through was long and level. Plenty of shade and we still got satellite. We were up and on the road early, so we didn’t take advantage of other amenities. If we find ourselves in need of an overnight in the area in the future, we would definitely stop again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate indicates a monthly rate for a deluxe patio site in the lower level. These sites are large and mostly level. Regular sites are a lot smaller and not as level. 50amp electric, water (40-50#) worked well for us. Water had a high iron content-stained commodes and sinks so they will have to be treated to re-whiten. Wi-fi was good most of the time. We were there for two flood events; one when an overnight rain the weather service called "a 50 year event 48 years early" that caused the river to overflow, and another when road construction messed up drainage and allowed a lot of water to flow into the park. I thought park management did a poor job of handling the inconvenience for us - basically no comment. I felt manager (owner?) could definitely use some public relations/customer service improvement. All the roads and sites could use a lot more gravel and pot hole fixing. Maybe this park would be not too bad for an overnight as it is very convenient to highway. Can't echo the sentiments of prior reviews enough. The male manager, who is an independent owner, is difficult to deal with and doesn't care about good will. Stayed here one night, but was lumped in with 5 other late arrivals. Because the signage was poorly done, one unit pulled in the wrong direction and ended up hooking to our water and sewer. We could stretch enough to use electric, but couldn't use water or toilet. We, too, were issued the "deluxe" sites, which had been graveled maybe 15 years ago, and it rained and flooded. There were NO bathrooms at this lower level with 60 sites: you had to cross a foot bridge over a creek to get to bathrooms. We asked for a $5.99 credit (for water/electric rates) and were refused. KOA Corporate couldn't get him to budge. This is an owner who is exploiting the location and KOA's name. Even though it's a good stopping off point, if you can, drive a little farther and skip this stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Here is another tired old KOA. We camped in the flooded spots like the prior reviewer discussed. The grass at our site was 6 or so inches high and the site was not level. The 50 amp power started failing on the 4th night we were there. On the 5th night the 50 amp failed and we were required to move to a 30 amp site. We paid $43 per night after a 10% discount. It was a holiday weekend but the place is WAY over priced. We will not stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Access into this campground was not very big rig friendly. There was road construction around the entrance making access difficult. We had to squeeze our 40 ft. motorhome between two buildings after we had registered, then across a very narrow bridge into the lower campground. We booked our "deluxe patio site" in advance. We were not told until after paying, that the lower campground where the deluxe sites were located had been flooded by the creek. The site we had was muddy, not very level and it smelled like rotten grass clippings and sewage. We noticed at least 10 other spots that were in much better condition that weren't filled. It seems that they try to fill their worst sites first and save the better sites for late comers. We stayed inside for the entire stay. Upon leaving we found the eastbound on ramp closed and had to go west 5 miles to go east again. The only good thing I can say is the young lady who checked us in was friendly. Large sites with lots of grass. We stayed in a deluxe site that had a patio which we use for workouts. The staff was friendly and helpful. The negative would be that while most of the roads are in decent shape, some spots need fresh gravel. We had some severe weather while we were here and moved sites the last night in case the stream that runs through the middle of the property flooded over it's banks. A few of the sites got pretty flooded that were close to the stream. The laundry had 7 washers and 6 dryers and all worked well. The pool looked clean and well kept. I would stay here again. This is our third stay here. They have put in more gravel and seems to have taken care of the potholes on the entrance. The dog park is still great but the pools was a little dirty while we were here. Staff isn't as friendly as they used to be, but I also only recognized one employee. Overall nice camping experience. They have a new section with premium big rig sites. We pulled our 43' foot in without any problems; opened up our slides and walked out onto our paved patio area with picnic table and fire ring. The new section has several large sites and not a lot of shade trees which was good for our satellite reception. The older section has paved roads, and the new section does not. That was our biggest concern: kids and bikes don't ride well on gravel. Pet park was large and very clean. There are two playgrounds: one large playground was recently updated and very nice. They have a decent pool and a nice campground store with essentials. There were activities for kids. The Wi-Fi was available, but we did not use as our aircard worked great. Even have a couple horses to hand feed if you choose. Well kept campground: grass was kept cut and staff was friendly. We would camp here again. Also, this place was very easy to access from I-70. This KOA was flooded in the storms of August '08 and it's not hard to see why. The stream running through the middle is obviously an overflow for lots of development close-by. The big-rig sites are in the lowest point and the older pull-thoughs are higher up, closer to the office. Not hard to see how a good rain could cause the stream to overflow it's banks. The pool is very small, but clean. The store is a typical KOA with minimum supplies or foodstuffs. Some of the sites near the office are back-ins that back up to a cornfield. Not much shade anywhere. If you stay in the big-rig area, the walk to the pool and office is about 10 minutes. The traffic noise from the interstate was not a problem but there is construction repairing the flooded areas right next to the campground and the equipment noise and dust was a nuisance (albeit an obvious temporary one). Would stay here again for an overnight but not much to do for longer stays. Downtown Indy is about 20 minutes away during no rush-hour traffic. There's fuel and fast food across the interstate. The entrance to the campground was a little tight in our 40-footer. The worst thing is the roads are all gravel and full of pot-holes. Bouncing into the campground at only 5 mph was not a good first impression. We camped here in a Motorhome.

When we made reservations at this park we indicated we needed a site clear of trees, and at minimum a good gravel site. The reservations were made about 36 hours before arrival. When we arrived we found the entry road with large chuck holes, the sites with many trees, and the sites were mostly grass. In short, we have never stayed in such a poor park. We stated this to the office on arrival, and they said they didn't care as they had charged our credit card we we made the reservation. Tight turn to get to the sites - club house to close to office. We had a pull through site perfectly adequate for overnight stay. WiFi good - we camped in a 43 foot motor home. This is a nice enough park with nice plantings. The sites are large enough and pretty level. The staff was pleasant. But $40 is a lot for a place without cable (lots of over the air stations) and very poor wi-fi. It is however well maintained and close to I70. Nice Park, but no cable. They have nice pull through spots, we just happen to get one right past the bridge to the right and it was a bit tight. If you plan to stay more than a night and you plan to swim, it is a good walk from the bridge, which is the back of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Bearing in mind that this CG suffered through major flooding and a tornado in June 2008, the narrow interior roads were in horrific shape which I'd guess were present before the flood. We requested a 30amp site with no sewer and were directed to the very back of the CG. The grass hadn't been mowed and was ankle high, and the sites were only defined by the water/electric post. That being said, I feel that we were overcharged for our stay as we paid $34 a night with our KOA discount! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy access from interstate and friendly/helpful check-in process are about the best comments for this CG. Really surprised there were no planned activities for Independence Day weekend. To no fault of the owner/manager, they've rec'd a lot of rain so plenty of standing water, mud, run-off at site and throughout grounds. The pool was good size. Not much else in the Indy area and we drove past the nearest competition and were not impressed. Mainly due to the weather and lack of any planned activities we left halfway thru the weekend. My next trip will be better planned so my overnight stay is either in Dayton or St. Louis. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Poorly laid out campground with the office off to the side and a 180 degree turn required with rocks all around down low. I did fit 42 feet in, but it was tight and not worth it. The entry way was narrow and the road down from the office had holes in it 3 feet long and 2 feet wide. I think this could be a wonderful location with a bit of updating. It is not a destination site for us but there were 20 units there in the middle of the summer.. Interesting. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Considering this place had suffered a tornado one week prior to my arrival, it was in great shape. To my surprise, the WiFi worked great but the gameroom was closed since the storm had torn the roof off the pavilion. Have been here enough times to know this was obviously not normal. They have a huge new dog park which was open and was the best we've seen. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Old part of the park needs major updating. The sites are now mainly grass and mud. A little gravel and they would be greatly improved. Sites were level. Didn't care for the layout of the sites, your door is on the same side as the others next to you, claim your fire pit and table when you arrive. Staff was very friendly the whole time. Great location for us as we were visiting family and toured Indianapolis. There is a large and clean pen to let your dogs run and play. Wouldn't object to staying here again if we couldn't find another place, just would ask to be place in the new section of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is one of the best KOAs I've ever been too. The staff were really friendly which is a huge plus. It is a nice quiet campground surrounded by trees. Very clean and well kept. They have beautiful flowers this year! Also they have 2 little horses to pet and feed apples. 24 hour laundry!!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Pretty nice stopover. There is not a lot of quality parks in the Indy area, IMHO. This campground is on the East side of Indy, but I used it for a base to visit relatives on both the south and the east side, as there isn't much else. There was another campground at the same exit, but the I could not find that campground by following the signs. The KOA was right next to the exit. Recommended for visiting Indy for a few days. I will visit again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an adequate park in a town with not many options. There are two sections and we stayed in the newer section which has sites suitable for big rigs. We were in a deluxe site which was near a dusty entry road and our bus and tow car were absolutely covered with dust. The newer section has significant road noise from the nearby freeway but with air conditioners running it was not a problem. It was Labor Day weekend and the park was full, hence the restrooms were given heavy use and were not very clean. The registration office is oddly located on one side of a very tight 180 degree turn which we found challenging to negotiate with our tow car attached. I would stay in the park again, but only because there are apparently no better options in the Indianapolis area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

They have had massive problems with their water this week. The water is full of metal, which causes everything to rust and it stinks badly. They have had trouble with their lift station this week so we have had brown water and loss of water at times. We will not be returning to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Took my two young girls camping with me for one night. Enjoyed the clean pool. We had a very good experience. The campground was very clean overall and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Office closes at 7pm. wiFi available at or near the office. Over half the sites were grass. No pad of any kind. This will make for an absolute nightmare in wet weather. The grass sites were not easy to distinguish where one ended and the other started. As with most KOAs, the price seemed a bit high, but in line with other KOAs. Lots of freeway noise if you are on the north half (grassy) area of the grounds. It was neat and well kept. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a great KOA nestled between cornfields right off of I70. We went up there for the Brickyard race; so that is why the nightly rate is high; I'm not sure what the regular rate is. This is a family owned campground with every family member involved. It is so well run and clean, clean, clean. The store was well stocked and also had laundry facilities. We will definitely return not only for race weekends but just because it was such a great campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Not real impressed. Wasn't able to connect with WiFi at all, bathrooms not the cleanest, cramped sites, mostly permanent yearly campers, great place for kids and teenagers. Staff was not friendly, the store is way over priced and very limited. I suppose it would be a nice park if you were a regular and a seasonal camper. Just not a friendly atmosphere if you're not a regular. We will travel the extra 20 to 30 minutes east to stay at New Lisbon. The seasonal campers and staff were not friendly what so ever. Not far off of Rt. 70 just east of Indianapolis. Very steep hill to access the pull through site. Internet very spotty. Very difficult to exit as there were not signs indicating how to leave and we were not given a map when we arrived. OK for one night. Lots of seasonals with older trailers. Price reflects PA discount. We liked this RV Park overall. Definitely a family park with a pool, water slides, horseshoes, etc. A lot of full timers live here, but the sites are well kept. Sites are level and long enough so as not to have to unhook the truck. However, our site was narrow with side site sewer hole very close. Thought the regular price is high for the site, but not for the activities this park offers families. But our main complaint was leaving by following the exit signs. I had to stop twice and climb up on the roof to pick up the overhead wires - unbelievable! If you do decide to stay here, be sure to go back out the one-way road you came in. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This camp ground had turned into a weekend get away, many permanent trailers, with all sorts of trashy add ons. They are working to clean it up. Lots of fun activities for the kids, Inflatable playground, pool, homemade ice cream, shaved ice, hayrides (no hay just a wagon with seats). Pet friendly. Fishing in a lake and river. And new this year 'Archery Tag', think paintball but with bow and foamy arrows. Lots of weekend events for families. Wi-Fi worked very well at our location. Road to campground is very bumpy. Lots of families and kids on the weekend. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Easy to find;very narrow road getting there. RV sites VERY narrow. Our picnic table for eating was over the dump/drain for the camper next to us! UGH! Smelled of sewer gas all over. Pond was covered with scum. Pool was okay. Weekend activities for kids seem good. Store well equipped. Bath house/showers okay. Buy firewood. No cableTV, but able to bring in local stations with antenna. Lots of dogs. Many long term campsites made it look like vagabond city. Easy RV access to sites, but felt like sardines packed in a tin. We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend. No matter, this park has very narrow sites, and parts of the park have fulltimers, and they really make the park look run down. If I were the owner all the fulltimers would be in one location so the short term customers wouldn't see some of the eyesores. On the plus side, the electric hookup we had, provided very stable voltage during 90 degree weather. Seems to be a lot of activities for children. We would not stay here again, just not our kind of park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We went to S&H because the KOA down the road was closing for the winter, we lucked out, this is a much better campground in our opinion. I do agree that the office is closed more times than open but we didn't mind that so much. We were placed up the hill and found the park to be clean and the sites fairly level, we did have to drop jacks. Plenty of room for the dogs to roam. Hookups were in a nice spot. Getting in and out was no problem for our 33 foot with tow dolly. Campground owner and workers were top notch, very friendly. Looks like spring to fall there would be plenty of shade as there are trees everywhere. We will always stay here when in Indy, we do plan on staying long term. Only wish there was cable TV hookups. Very quiet at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lots are long enough for a 40', but our 35' got in OK but it would have been a challenge and possibly expense in trying to navigate going out the twists and turns, missing trees, cars parked and ruts. Going out by way of the exit, do not enter did work for us. Others acknowledged they also were concerned but had not told management and were not "mobile" weekly. Clean and well kept. Utilities located well. Management and reps. were very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I would estimate 70% of sites are permanent party; very old rigs, home made decks and porches, old refrigerator on one porch, trash and clutter around the permanent sites. Lot of rigs/sites look abandoned, unsightly. I'll stay here annually for a couple of wks due to family visits--quiet, feels safe, the areas I need are clean. Attentive managers. I like it better than the other viable campground here, and the monthly fee makes a longer stay attractive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We then checked out the other two parks in Greenfield, both of which were 100% better. We ended up staying downtown at the State Fairgrounds because Greenfield is just too far out of town. Overall, a nice family owned park. Lots of activities for the kids, with swimming pool and putt putt golf. Store has limited groceries and supplies. Many of the sites are seasonal and I'm sure it can be quite busy during the summer. We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend. The park is very convenient to Indianapolis. There are 2 areas of camping, the sites up on the hill are much nicer. We were down below due to an RV Rally. Do not expect to get a satellite signal as the park is very shady. You probably could get a signal up on the hill if you got a site on one of the end spots. The park does not have cable. We even had trouble getting cell phone reception with our Verizon service. The secondary road after leaving I-70 to the park is very tight which was sort of scary when we met an oncoming vehicle. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Camped here for about 3 months. Overall, fairly nice but park has two distinct areas. Nightly campers seem to be placed in a different area for the most part. Newer facilities in that area. Store has limited selection Staff friendliness/competence is all over the board. Some are helpful and nice, some clueless and rude. Large section of the park devoted to seasonal or permanent residences. Many not well maintained, giving the park a "junky" and dated appearance. Water quality in this area is poor IMO. I highly recommend a water filter of some sort. Lake is really more of a shallow pond, but there are fish in it. Saw several people catch panfish during my stay. Bathhouse in the area where I was staying was fairly old. Needs to be updated. Quite a few activities on weekends in the summer and early fall. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
