We camped here for one night, mid-week in a fifth wheel. There are mostly seasonal campers in this small park. At mid-week, there were very few people in the park. It is and old, but well-maintained. The shower facility was very clean, although outdated. The pool was beautiful, and looked very clean, although we did not use it. Our lot, was level but narrow The owner assured us that the adjacent lot would not be occupied; it wasn’t. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. We stayed here at a Passport America rate and would recommend it for a one night stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rates reflects military discount. This was a quick stop for us we stayed only 12 hours. The park host was very nice and stayed open late so that we could check in very late due to an accident. The Wi-Fi was patchy. The site was not level has to break out he blocks to get as level as possible. The park is beautiful in the daylight every site is fully shaded with tons of wildlife present. I wish we could have stayed longer to explore the park a little more. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We paid the Passport America rate. This is an older park that is reasonably well maintained. We have stopped here almost annually, and find the PA-assigned sites to be clean and nicely shaded from the afternoon/evening sun. Campground staff are consistently courteous, but their moods are visibly "variable". We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped at Deer Ridge during the last two weeks in October. The sites were level and set up was easy. The park has Wi-Fi available and does work in the camper. The owner's were friendly and we would camp here next season. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of the worst campgrounds we have ever stayed in. Will never return here. The site assigned had no electric had to use electric at next site. Site was level, all of the others were not. Advertise as a Passport America campground would not honor PA for pull through sites. This was not stated in the ad in PA directory. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We paid the Passport America member rate. We seem to stop here annually on our way westward, and again found pleasant staff, decent, well-drained grassy sites with afternoon shade, and full hook-ups at a reasonable rate. We will gladly return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camped here and the owners were very rude. They told us if we went over 5 MPH they would shoot our tires out. While we were putting our awning up they come out and told us not to hammer anything in the ground cause their sewer line is only 3 inches in the ground. We will never camp here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Nice park, convenient to I-70. Well run with manager on site, lots of things to do at the park, putt-putt, pool, playground, trail in the woods and small fishing lake. Lots of seasonal campers, but it's clean with lots of trees and shade. Stayed for a week and will stay here again. Grass and gravel sites, ours was level. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park charged $41.00 for 1 night stay. We did get a big pull through with a deck and picnic table. They did give us a discount on Good Sams. The owners weren't too friendly. I won't be back We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park, with plenty of trees, and adequate sized gravel sites. Took Passport America discount (or Good Sam, AAA), but added $5 for 50 amp service. Pool, fishing pond, mini golf, playroom/arcade, and pavilion. Bathrooms clean, but smelled of mildew. Small laundry room. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an older campground with some seasonal campers. However it is very well maintained and the staff is very nice and friendly. I would call the bathrooms "vintage" but they were well kept with just a few daddy long legs to keep me company. We did not use the pool, but my daughter enjoyed the playground. This is a nice shady campground. You will have to go to the office/game room to use Wi-Fi, but all in all, a nice place to spend the night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We paid the Passport America rate for full hookups. This is the fourth time in six years we've stopped at this campground. A great deal of work has been accomplished in the past year, with upgrades to the buildings and facilities. The park staff was pleasant, and helped us back into the chosen campsite. We would comfortably return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
On our arrival, the campground still was showing signs of the Hurricane Ike winds the preceding day. While the staff was working at cleanup, branches still littered many sites and the blown-down entry sign couldn't be repaired until the electric company shut down the current. However, the electric power was on. This is a decent overnight park with a few negative "quirks". Overnight visitors must back up approximately 100 feet from the office to pull into an area which appears reserved for them (it was the same last year, too). The staff, while friendly and helpful with minor issues, appear unimaginative about possible improvements (such as making signs that have visitors stop about 100-150 feet from the office to avoid the troublesome backup process). (800) 578-5267 We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were promised a pull-thru site with sewer by a female employee at the park, as washing clothes was a priority. Upon arrival, a male worker over-ruled the decision of the female, and would NOT allow us to occupy the pull-thru site, and could only offer a back-in site with older sewer placement at the extreme rear of the site. The sites offered could not be accessed for sewer without 20+' sewer hose. Male employee rudely told us "you can get your money back and be on your way". WE DID. Deer Ridge Camping Resort could only offer us a broken commitment and rude behavior. We camped here in a Motorhome.
So-so campground. The owners were nice and even offered to help with a camper repair that I had to make while there. The grounds, pool, mini-golf course were in excellent shape, the restrooms could have used a little more attention though. The fishing pond wasn’t much of a fishing pond. It was full of cattails and moss, but we weren’t there to fish. They did have pull-thru sites, all two of them. Overall I would say that it wasn’t too bad for an overnight stay like we had. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is heavly wooded for the most part. We loved it. The owners are extremely nice and willing to help in any way they can. They put on a wonderful firework show for the campers. The facilities are kept clean at all times. This campground is a teen friendly place. They have lots to do for all children. The campground has fishing pond, pool, pavallon, heated club house for clubs, store, teen hangout which includes pool, arcade games, puzzles, family games, books, juke box, horseshoes, basketball, playground, and a rugged trail to a river for canoeing or fishing. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Just a quick overnight, but the park was good for a night to relax as we were heading to Mo. and had tire problems. Lady that checked us in was very accommodating and friendly. Grand daughter enjoyed the pool. The seasonals were very welcoming. The internet was nonexistent. Nice size pull through site, but a little noisy as the main road was right behind us. Good access to Rt. 70. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Shore Power 50/30/20 in our site #20. This site as well as others are right along side the road past the park. Daytime road noise is distracting. Water is good but from a well. Water pressure is 40 PSI. Sewer is good. Road into park is paved but short. Roads inside park are gravel. Sites are gravel. This park was a farm some years ago and was made into an RV park. The sites were carved out and squeezed around making them located in very unusual places. The site we were in you have to park the trailer back a long way and park up front. This provides easy access. If you park the trailer up front for easy access to services then you must park behind the trailer and back up along 4 or 5 sites to get out. Verizon and Sprint Air Cards have weak signals. Campground Wi-Fi work very well at our site but we are right by the antenna. AT&T cell phone signal is good. No cable TV. There are a number of long term tenants, which were very neat. Our location can get satellite access but those in the back of the campground will have trouble because of trees. Sites are close but have enough room to extend awning. Good Sam Discounts and AAA but that is all. Payment with credit cards accepted. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stopped for one night while returning home from the east. Park was very clean and well maintained. There is no store to speak of and we did not use any of the other facilities. We were disappointed with the Wi-Fi as it was less than reliable. About half the park appears to be permanent units, but they all looked clean and and well kept. Our site was easy to access and very level. We will use this park again if traveling through or even if we were staying in the area for few days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great location for over night stay. Easy access from Interstate. Pull through sites. Family own easy check in. Led to site by owner. Seasonal camper were all friendly. Will use this campground again for stop over spot. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Close to a road that was fairly quiet but every once in a while the noise was noticeable. The choice of trees in each site was questionable. Chestnuts and walnuts. You can imagine the sound of the fruits on the camper roof at night!! The other hazard was trying to walk on the walnuts in the campsite. The people were quite nice. It was fine for an overnight stay but that was all that I would want. The bathrooms were clean but only the basics. Two showers (one behind the other). Luckily the campground was not crowded. Laundry was nice and clean. Again, an overnight stay would be fine. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This CG is an easy on/off from I-70. There is a local road to the front of the CG but there is very little traffic. The office person was very friendly. The roads and sites are gravel but level. There are some long term residents but they were very nice and polite. The CG is very quite and dark at night. If you request a pull thru, don't go on #1. To the rear of that site is a burner that is used to heat the pool, hot tub and part of the owner's house. It constantly smokes and when the wind shifted, it came in the coach. We close the windows but we could still smell it thru the roof vents. They do recycle cans but not paper and plastic. We would stay here again but not on #1. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park convenient to I-70 traveling with an easy overnight stop. Pool was appreciated during these mid 90 degree days, as was a partially shaded pull through site with full hookups. No cable, but could get 22 clear stations on just the antenna. Wi-Fi quick connect and fast. Many permanents in the park. Only complaint was the noise of state road 227 only feet from the rear of our site. There are quieter sites towards the back near the tiny little shallow stream, but they are 30 amp and back ins. Extra 5 bucks for 50 amp sites, but was needed in the summer heat. Nice owners on site that guide you in. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed Grandpa's campground for 7 nights, that included the 4th of July weekend. The owners had plenty of activities planned, and the pool was opened for adult swimming in the afternoon. You feel right at home from the time you arrive until you check out. When we are back in the area we will stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here in a Class C for an overnight. It's fine for that. Sites were crowded, but clean, and the bathroom was clean. Friendly staff. We were right next to the road, which was a bit busy, but we managed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here in a 40' motorhome and were able to get into a site without disconnecting our toad. Sites are close together and the park is very crowded. We were here years ago and it was just a small, quiet country park, but that is not the case now. Road noise, as the previous reviewer stated, is definitely a problem, as we too are right next to the highway. There are several campfires going and we had to close all our windows due to the smoke. This must be a weekend getaway for the locals, as there are kids everywhere. WiFi works fine at our site. We would stay here again if we had to. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here in a 40 ft. Motorhome and that is the top length they should take. We had a couple of times where we barely eased through. Since we were staying two nights they put us in a pull through near front of park. Road noise was a real problem. The back of the coach was so near the highway we could tell what the driver was wearing. The lady in office was rather snippy when asked on the phone about road noise and was very unfriendly when we arrived. The other problem we had was the sites were so close to each other that our coach filled with smoke from a neighbors fire. The weather was cool so everyone had fires going snd we left after only one night just to get out of the smoke and noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground was very clean and quiet. Being a holiday weekend, we were thrilled to be able to not have to commit to a three day stay. The owners/staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the campground was lovely with all of its trees. It is a very family friendly campground, with a lot of scheduled activities. We were fortunate to get a site that allowed us to park without detaching the towed vehicle (we're in a 40 foot motorhome) and have satellite access from the roof antenna. I think that 40 feet is pretty much as large as the campground can easily handle, but we didn't have any problems, just some white knuckle moments. If our schedule dictated, we would come back here in an instant. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice shady, somewhat quiet park. Appears to have a good number of campers from the local area. Pretty good Wi-Fi considering what a lot of others have. Would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were here for a week over Memorial Day weekend. We had wanted to stay closer to Cincinnati to go to a ballgame, but due to the holiday weekend this was as close as we could get - and are we glad. This is one of the prettiest parks we have been in. The owners seem to never stop working. They ask you follow the rules which only makes for a very enjoyable visit. They went out of their way on a couple occasions to help us out and it was very much appreciated. They gave a hay ride across the river and into the farm on the weekend, which was so much fun. Our spot was on the road which had a lot of construction traffic which was quite noisy during the day, but that is by no means the owners fault. We will tell everyone we know about this place and we will absolutely return here when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped here with family. The park is nice and the owners are friendly and keep things under control, even on a busy holiday weekend. Quiet time starts at 11:00PM and it is enforced. Their rates are very reasonable, they have a game room with free ping pong, $0.50 pool, and all of their video games and pinball machines are only a quarter. The pool is nice and clean, although a bit small, but does have a diving board. They had a number of activities including a hay ride, garage sale, bingo, and free canoing on Saturday. All in all this is a really great bargain for a family oriented campground. The only drawbacks are: sites are pretty small, roads and pads are all gravel, and some of the seasonal units are showing their age. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here twice in 2008 and found the park to be clean and well run. The owners are very nice and very helpful, which is what made us return. There is a good sized pool and an interesting video/game room (popular w/teenagers). The pull-thru sites by the highway are a little noisy and automobile lights at night shine in your RV. The sites down by the river are very nice and much quieter, with good shade and easy river access. The WiFi is fragile. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is one of our favorite parks. Family owned and operated by a husband and wife that are friendly and active. Quiet hours enforced, lots of weekend activities for kids and adults. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
North on SH 227 2mi CG backs up to hwy and lots of noise from the many dump trucks going back in forth and they start at 7am CG has nice trees, sites are a tight with limited FHU. There were many junkie sites from weekender's. The campground appears to be a fun place for kids and grandkids with a small creek in the rear. I would not camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Friendly owners, older CG with lots of seasonals (kept tidy), clean restrooms, not much road noise due to country location. Most sites small & close together; those along stream have levee between them & water. Not much room for really big rigs. Camped here in a driving rainstorm so didn't have much opportunity to enjoy what it has to offer, just a good port in the storm. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed for 1 night in a pull-thru site, with full hookups. We have a 41' 5th wheel and a medium duty truck. We were escorted to our site, without any issues. They have narrow gravel roads and level sites. It is located 2 miles from I-70. The owner is very friendly. We would stay here again. Also the free Wi-Fi is being upgraded. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We only stayed one night while traveling thru on I-70, but this campground was very nice and only two miles off the interstate. The owners are quite friendly and welcoming. Park is located near several RV mega dealers in Richmond We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice campground. Friendly staff and clean facilities. We stayed here while passing through the area. Campground is well maintained. We were led to our site and had little difficulty maneuvering a big rig with tow. Wi-Fi is excellent. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites a tad close together. Length OK. Nice shady sites and luckily 'neighbors' were sedate. There was some road noise but tolerable in a closed camper. Very nice nature trail. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here one night on our way home from the east coast. The park was clean and staff was helpful. We did not use any of the facilities, sine we were in late and out early. However, it looked well maintained and we would stay here again if we needed a single night or if had reason to be in the area for a few days. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very convenient to interstate but also very noisy with many trucks. Bathrooms clean but could use updating. Cabin had overhead light as well as lamp over bed. Staff not overly friendly. We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
Great RV park built around a lake with lots of trees and green open space. Very friendly owners/managers who lead you to your site and help you park. Great pet walking area around the lake, and lots of space between sites and long sites so that you do not have to disconnect the toad. There is some highway noise, but not enough to be a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pricing includes KOA member discounts and point redemption. We stayed here overnight. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Even though it was pouring down rain, they led us to our site. When I asked for the laundry room hours, they told me to call when I was ready. They drove me from our site to the laundry room in their golf cart. Told me not to worry when it wasn’t going to be until after hours before our clothes were dry. Then, even though they were officially closed, drove me back to my site when I was finished. The laundry and rec areas are part of the main office/store and are roomy and clean. They have daily garbage pickup at each site. Also the sites were large, level, and the power was good. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Possibly the prettiest KOA we've ever been in, this park is located off I-70, but aside from some road noise in the front of the property where the office and the mini-golf course are located, we didn't know were so near a major interstate. The carefully groomed grounds have large pull-through sites and cabins are arranged around a small lake where campers can fish or rent pedal boats. There is an adorable pet playground and a nature trail and playground for the kids. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restrooms and showers are immaculate. Garbage is picked up from your site daily. Wi-Fi is free but the signal wasn't strong enough to reach our site which was at the back of the campground. The campground is very near a public golf course and not far from a Meijers supermarket and gas station. This is a great place to spend the night or longer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a smaller park with lots for the kids to do. Roads are gravel, and we had lots of dust until it rained a little. Our site was level with trees, but we still were able to get satellite reception from our dome. There is highway noise, and Garmin GPS attempts to bring you in and out the back way, so follow the directions from the website. There is a small off leash dog area, mini-golf, outdoor movies, fishing lake, pool, store, game room, etc. and we had lots of tenters during our stay. I did find a larger public off-leash dog park within a few miles called Hill's Bark Park. The owners are very helpful and maintain long hours with the office open between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a great little park. The roads were a little narrow, so though we didn't have any problems negotiating turns, we were worried that we would. However, the park is clean, quiet, and pretty, with two playground areas and a small swimming pool. Our rate of $39 was for a full hookup, $3 child charge, and KOA discount. WiFi was available at our site, which was about 300 feet from the pool. We leveled using one board. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Ok park, it's clean. It's trying to be a resort with lots for the kids to do, but could not get leveled. We ended up using boards on the front as the whole campground slants towards the lake (pond). The store and laundry are set up funny: as to use the laundry, the store must be open as the machines are in side. There is a fairly good stocked store, just nothing to brag about. No cable TV (which was showing on this site), and no TV without a portable dish as there's too many trees. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owners were very nice and took us to our site. The interior roads are dirt, but ours was level. It was very tight for a big rig. There is some highway noise, few TV stations, and Wi-Fi did not work. If you're looking for a complete get away, this is the place. It's fine, but a lot of money, for an overnight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We like this park. It's quiet and relaxing, and the dog loves to swim in the pond. The owners could be a little more friendly than they were. In no way are they rude, but they don't act like they enjoy the park much. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Like another reviewer we chose a site behind the pond. Although it is electric and water only at those sites, we prefer them. It is QUIET there and dark at night. The Space is level and more than long enough for 40ft rv and towing. Satellite reception is excellent. The Wifi is free and works well. It is a very enjoyable country setting. We will stay here anytime we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a small campground, located off the interstate. It is in a quiet setting, we took a site behind the pond. Our kids fished at the pond, and had a great time. There is a new, small fenced dog area which was nice. The owners are friendly and helpful. The campground was clean and well-kept. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is well kept. The owners man the desk and operate the CG, unlike many. Yes, the entrance is only about 100Ft back from I70 but if noise is a problem request a sight in the rear as I did, behind the Pond. Noise was thus no issue for me. Small pool but well maintained. Nice Kiddy playground. Have stayed here down through the years and will again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
