This is a delightful campground. The staff is cheerful and accommodating. The pizza delivery service was a treat. No cable TV; however, the WiFi worked fine. Unfortunately, it was difficult to get level on the gravel site. Will return if ever in the area again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice KOA, but a long way from anywhere, something like 20 miles East to Des Moines. Nice long wide pull throughs. Free Wi-F,i but very slow. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The spacious sites are actually quite level to begin with. Able to order the pizza and wings in the office, and they will deliver or you can pick them up when ready; convenient if you don't wish to cook on arrival. The staff are friendly and helpful. This would be a great place to stay with kids because there are weekend activities planned. Would stay again if in area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is under new ownership and they are intent on making improvements. This sites are level but mine was not fully packed down, so I would use my jack pads next time. Order the pizza and they will deliver: it is great! Electricity voltage is on the high side and my surge protector kept kicking off during the stay. However, the owner was responsive in understanding my concerns. As I was leaving, the power company truck was arriving to look at the issues. The staff are friendly and helpful, laundry was clean and affordable. This would be a great place to stay with kids because there are weekend activities planned. Unfortunately, our grandkids were not with us to enjoy the experience. While in the area, be sure to see the Living History Farm. Both adults and children will enjoy it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed for 5 nights while attending the State Fair. Just fine for us, great staff (owners) and escort to site. No problem with levelling, site was actually quite level to begin with. Clean laundry and reasonable price. Not much shade but great satellite TV reception and quiet at night. Would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites were OK. The showers were outdated and small. The park was OK for an overnight stay but not as a destination. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large pull Through but not easy to level our 38ft fifth wheel. Lots of permanent campers. OK for over nite but not one I would stay in more than one night We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
About one mile off the highway, quiet. Sites are gravel, some leveling needed, picnic table, fire pit, a few with shade. Wi-Fi worked well. Antenna TV got 5 channels. Showers were clean. They sell pizza and have a limited selection of items in their store. Staff was friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We used this campground for a two day stop over while traveling west. The campground is convenient to I-80. All sites are pull through and are reasonably level. Our site had good voltage and water pressure. Sites and roads are gravel. Campground has a nice pool and play area for families with kids. I would have given it a "9" rating if cable were available. Would stay here if traveling through the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We arrived here minutes before the office closed but the staff was more than willing to guide us to our parking spot. There is a large dog run area and the kids enjoyed the playground. The only complaint I have is about the uphill sewer connection for our assigned parking spot which made for a rather unpleasant dumping experience. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed overnight. Very clean. Management very attentive. Good stocked general store. Good water pressure, good power. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice clean KOA. Gravel interior roads and sites. Site have a very slight slope probably to help with water run off. We had a very late check in and the office put the map in a very easy to locate spot. Had no trouble finding out site in the dark. Not many trees, but very well maintained and mowed. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Older KOA, but in very good shape. The sites are mostly level and most are full hook up, pull-throughs. The staff is very friendly. The pool needed a cleaning due to leaves in the water. The store has a very nice stock of local wines and hot pizza on site. The park was mostly full on a Thursday night attesting to the local popularity. It is easy on and easy off I-80 but far enough from the highway to eliminate any road noise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All pull-through sites. The first row sites are somewhat unlevel and required me to unhook our 5er to obtain leveling, inconvenient for an overnight stop. The owner is very helpful and friendly. He helped us in every way possible. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park with good access and level sites. Very nice grass and tree area for the tent campers. The store is well stocked and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They had done some utility repair and the ruts and some other places in the park road need a load of gravel in the low spots to keep the mud down since it had just rained while we were there. Not a fan of KOA pricing, but would stay here again if I was in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The office was not open when we arrived, but there was a map with available sites in the laundry room. The sites were long, but had a slope at the back. We had to unhook to get level enough. Shorter rigs probably would be fine. The restrooms and laundry were clean. Verizon, electric, and Internet worked well. There were a few over the air channels. We met the owner later, and he was very pleasant. This is a good overnight stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed only one night since we were simply passing through Iowa. The park was well maintained, and the managers offered good advice about local restaurants or pizza places; we arrived late so this was helpful information. We thought the price was a bit high given the time of year and the occupancy of the park. We found the Wi-Fi access to be very slow, but it was no better or worse than any other RV park we stayed at during our vacation time in September. The parking sites were big and well maintained, and since the park was about 2 miles off of the Interstate the park was very quiet. If we were looking for a park in Iowa on another trip we would stay at this park again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great for our grand-kids and us! Enjoyed wine tasting Fri. & Sat. nights. Nice store with lots of essentials and gifts. Very clean, landscaped grounds. Owner present at location to ensure satisfaction. Will go back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Overall a nice KOA as compared to the KOA's we have stayed at in our travels. Had a well stocked store, very friendly and helpful staff. Site was the normal crushed rock site and roads. Our site was level and most sites looked level or very close to level. A few sites has trees. The pool looked like it was closed for the season and was somewhat green. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an awesome KOA. The new owners have put so much work into this place and it shows. A very nice dog park was just added next to the playground. All the staff are more than willing to help and make your stay enjoyable. New owners are doing a wonderful job & trying to plan events for kids/families on weekends. We can't say enough good about this KOA. Check out their videos/pics on their website and see the new dog park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Top notch! Best KOA. Level, gravel sides with picnic tables on nice grass that are not next to your neighbor's sewer! Good Wi-Fi. Far enough off the interstate so there's no noise but yet convenient. River Valley golf course is about 10 miles away- 3 star golf digest rating. There is a small pond for fishing. And unlike a lot of KOAs, it was reasonable for the facility. We wish the new owners many blessings in their adventure. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Under new ownership. Park is best KOA we have stayed at. Pretty landscaping and friendly, helpful staff. Labor Day Weekend they had free wine tastings each night from several different local wineries--how fun! Best store for souvenirs we have seen--not tacky but nice gifts to be found especially if you love bears! Highly recommend it! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park, we expecially like what they have done to the park. The best site maps I have ever seen. Great people and great owners! We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed at this park several times a year since 1989. It is about 100 miles from our home and even though it has changed ownership several times, each time it has improved. It is family oriented, even has a fishing pond. Now that our grandchildren have grown up (we have had them with us through out the mid-west and the western USA), we still enjoy this campground. The sites are level and clean, restrooms are immaculate, all personnel are great and very, very helpful. I would recommend this RV park to anyone. I really can't think of any recommendations I could possibly make. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a great campground and is still close to the highway (1.5 miles) but unlike a lot of KOA's, there is no traffic noise! It's in a rural setting and the restrooms were extremely clean. The new owners are putting a lot of money into the park and are very friendly and helpful. We will be camping here during the John Wayne/Bridges of Madison County festival and looking forward to another great visit. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Park was as advertised with no surprises. Good utilities. It was a bit out of the way for us as we were heading south. Not much close by to visit. Good overnight on I-80. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We are a family that traveled with our two kids, ages 9 and 6 in a motorhome. We stayed here for only one night. For us, this was a typical interstate overnight campground. Nothing terrible about it at all but a place we would only want to stay for one or two nights. Although there is ample room between sites, they are all pretty much in the open. Not much privacy. The pool and playground were good. The kids liked the newer basketball hoop. The new owners just purchased this in April of 2011. I talked with the one of the owners for a while as he was working on improving the playground. They definitely spent some money improving the grounds and amenities. They are working hard to improve the park and doing a nice job. Just working with a limited asset. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a nice park. A bit pricey, but that's KOA. We would have rated it an 8 if it had cable TV. The antenna brought in a number of channels though. The roads and sites are gravel with grass between the sites, fairly level and decently spaced. It rained hard for a couple of days and for the most part the water drained well. It is a bit out of Des Moines but not all that far. Wi-Fi was good. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very friendly staff, close, gravel, all pull throughs. Sewer connections are not really aligned so you can stay hooked up to trailer and use, unless you have a very long connection. Close to being level sites, good stop over off of I-80, as it's 1 mile away, so was nice and quiet. We will stop again, but rate a little high for not being able to hook up sewer. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice and very big rig friendly. Rest rooms being worked on while we were there, not sure why. Excellent base for seeing the bridges of Madison County and Des Moines. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very well kept, staff friendly and helpful, great pool. Choice of sites near activity or away from the check in station and pool. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice staff. Accommodated our need due to not fully equipped new trailer. Very nice guy escorted to site. Clean, quiet. No businesses near. Chinese food delivered every day, pizza on weekends. Would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Peace and quiet was available here when we moved to a site far from the road. The campground lacks any trees so sites have little privacy although we were so late in the year that hardly anybody was here. We'd definitely return here another time. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Pricey for a parking spot way outside Des Moines (20+ miles) but quiet, much to our delight. Holiday weekend was packed but mostly local families and travelers passing through the area. Easy I-80 access to Des Moines, John Wayne area, and Bridges of Madison County historic area. Park has a pool and playground, plus a store and a good laundry. Sites are wide and pull-thrus are good sized to meet all needs. We had plenty of space for our 40 foot motorhome and Honda. We camped here for a couple of days a year ago and will return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly helpful staff. Large pull through sites. After a long travel day we were guided to our site. Our toad was dead, and were helped without asking for a charge. When I offered a tip for their service, it was refused. That's what makes you come back over and over again. Would recommend this campground without question. Only a mile off of 80, with no road noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
One of our favorite KOA parks. Very friendly staff. They make sure everything is right. The hostess knows were the good local restaurants are. Has level sites, is quiet and has a fishing pond. Good sky for Dish, Verizon cell and air card works well. Close to Bridges of Madison County and the John Wayne Memorial. We would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent for an overnight stop or longer stay. Very well maintained gravel sites with plenty of length for our 40 footer and toad, with ample width. Sites are not level, but our leveling jacks handled it OK. Far enough from the interstate to be quiet, although there is occasional truck noise during the day from the county road passing the campground. Rate reflects KOA card discount and tax. Swimming pool is quite small but kids did seem to enjoy it. Would get a higher rating if sites were level and paved. Verizon cell and air card worked well. Would stay again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stopped here on our way out west. Had a late arrival. The staff had our reservation on a white board with clear instructions. Could not have been easier. Sites are level, pull-throughs. Campground seemed clean, we were only there for about 9 hours! Nice stop over. Would do it again We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very nice KOA. It is far enough off the Interstate to be quiet, yet close enough to be convenient. The owners/hosts were very friendly. The store is wonderful and has a great selection of local wines. The only negative: there were no shade trees at our site. But overall a wonderful campground with great, friendly hosts. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The pool was nice and so was the laundry. WI-FI was poor at site # 9 even though you could see the antenna 100' away. It was easy to find just a couple of miles off I-80 @ exit 106. Sites are gavel and sloped to the rear so you have to at least block the back tires. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a lot like many other KOA's, (clean showers, Wi-Fi, standardized amenities) but what made this place so great were the owners, and staff members. While all trailer and RV sites were pull through, they made sure you pulled in your site the right way by giving you a golf-cart escort! These guys were hilarious, very personable, and seemed to genuinely care about who we were, where we came from, our travels, and made sure our camper was level! Unbelievable service. The campground owners checked us in, and were great. The most memorable personalities, really. They loved what they were doing! They had a little gift shop and mini-grocery store as well. They stocked many local wines, which was nice to see. The personalities and niceness of this campground made us think about coming back to that place, as opposed to just driving through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was an overnight stop for us close to the highway but not too close. Has big spaces, helpful staff, clean restrooms and grounds. Only negative was the pool. It was green and was not clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice campground about a mile north of I-80 at exit 106. Very friendly staff. Not a lot of shade but sites are spaced out far enough to keep you from feeling like your neighbor is on top of you. Definitely would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Wow! What a great camping experience! First, the campground is set about 1.8 miles off of I-80. Their add says, "All you'll hear are the birds in the nearby meadow chirping," and boy are they right! Easy access off of I-80 and QUIET! Second, the owners / managers are extremely customer oriented and friendly to the customers. I felt like I was camping in a relative's backyard! Third, this campground and the bathroom/ shower facilities were extremely clean. I'd not only stay here because I'm traveling, but I'd consider this a good location to just get away. Put this one on your list if your traveling I-80 through Iowa! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Same comments as others- nice personal service upon arrival, clean facilities, nice location, decent Wi-Fi- everything you should get from a KOA considering you are paying somewhat more. This is our 2nd time at this KOA and would stay again if passing through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice KOA. Has friendly staff. Better than most KOAs with noticeably wider and longer sites. Has gravel roads and sites, but very level. has good facilities. Wi-fi was OK, but the strength varied. No Cable TV available. Has nice grass around the sites. A very well maintained park. Quiet and has nice surrounding farmland. We paid $37 for a large pull-through motorhome site with KOA discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here on May 11, 2010. My wife and I both agreed that it is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed in. They have a nice gift shop and well stocked pantry for items needed. Staff was very nice and helpful. One of the things we liked best was that all utility hookups were in the same area so did not have to unhook towed car at all. We will stay here again We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park about 25 miles west of Des Moines and less than 2 miles north of I-80. Most sites are nice, open pull-throughs with full hookup and WI-FI. Since they don't have cable, we requested a dome satellite friendly site. Unfortunately, the site they gave us had a tree perfectly positioned to block our dome. There were plenty of empty sites that were more open, but I didn't want the hassle of changing sites, so I stayed in the assigned site. Antenna reception from Des Moines was fine. There is absolutely nothing near the park. The small town of Adel is a couple miles north and even the interstate exchange to the south has no facilities - not even a gas station. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This KOA is a nice quite campground with super owners. The restrooms and showers are very clean. A good overnight country spot. When in the area we will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice wide pull through site. We did not get in the area that we were promised but the site in the 60's was fine. When we checked in there was such a line that we had to wait on the side of the county road. Once in, we were told someone would guide us to our site. The guide never showed so we made our way on our own. A very narrow turn later (barely missed having to disconnect our toad) we found our site and were pleased with the width, length and levelness of the site. You should wait for the guide who later explained he would never guide us in the way the check in person marked on the map! We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very quite here: no road noise as most KOA's. They had very helpful staff and the kids enjoyed the playground. Came in too late to use the pool but it looked very clean and they put a cover on it at night. The only problem was the very strong smell of raw sewage coming from an open pond, in the back of the campground, that had a blue green color to it. It was fenced in with warning signs saying "no swimming" (no @!#*!). Do they allow open sewage pits in Iowa? We felt sorry for the family camping in the back campsite. I thought I was going to puke! We camped here in a Campground Cabin.
This is a great campground. We used it as an over-night on our travels, and we would definitely stay here again. It is a clean campground, well laid out, nice, heated pool, clean restrooms, well stocked store, and has friendly owners. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
The staff was nice to me as the person paying but my children found them a little gruff. We stayed two nights, enjoying the pool and using the laundry room, both very well kept. The grounds are maintained well and overall this was a good place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It made for a nice overnight stop and has easy exit from the highway. It is far enough down the road to be away from the freeway noise. You feel like you are in the country. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was our first time at this park and would definitely return next time we are in the Des Moines area. The park is about a 15 minute drive from West Des Moines but its all highway. The park was clean. Our camp site was reasonably level with a gravel pad and a generous amount of grass. All of the camp sites were 75 feet long. Very few trees but the surrounding countryside around the campground was very nice. The staff was very nice, upon checking they will guide you to your site and help you get all lined up with your connections. The owners were fantastic people. After talking to them for 5 minutes you feel like you've known them for years. They were very helpful in giving us suggestions on what to do in the area and provided us with all the information and directions we needed. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Check-in was quick. Led to park by helpful staff member. Gravel in-roads and parking pads with plenty of grass between sites. Great length pull-throughs. Few trees which allowed great access for our satellite. Free WiFi added plus. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed here overnight on our way through Iowa. Easy to get to from the highway and a beautiful setting. Nice large sites with plenty of grass between them and quite a few with open views of the sky for satellite internet or tv dish access. It's expensive, like most KOAs, but has lots of facilities and the whole campground is very well kept and neat. The rules on guests seem a bit excessive but, at least at this time of year, it's a very quiet, peaceful place and I guess they want to keep it that way. The "fishing pond" shown on the map was covered with algae and looked very unappealing. Nonetheless, we'd stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a beautiful park. I don't know how much space some people need, but the sites are at least 70 feet long and 30-40 feet wide, with nice grass, picnic tables. all level. Some sites have fire pits as well. This is the third time we have stayed here and elected this time to stay four nights since it is such a great place. For tenters, there are beautiful grassy areas. There are also cabins for those who need them. There is a fishing pond, beautiful landscaping, lots of birds and not even a scrap of paper to be found floating around. It couldn't possibly get any better than this. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This has quickly become one of our favorite places to stay when visiting central Iowa - owners really care for the place and staff is great. Just this past year they have invested more in the playground area and they keep the grounds in great shape. Very friendly staff - last visit we arrived later than planned, about 20 minutes after store closed - but owners came out and asked if we needed anything and gladly sold us a bag of ice we needed. Very family friendly campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice campground. Long, level sites. Showers and restrooms were sparkling clean. Staff is super friendly. They showed me to my site and answered all my questions. Nice store. Basic RV supplies, some food and beverages and souvenirs. Excellent place to stop and enjoy the Iowa country side. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Site are so close together that you can't open car door because it will hit camper in the next site. No cable. Very expensive for what you get. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice, clean and level sites. We used this KOA as a one night stay on our way to Mount Rushmore. Very clean and friendly staff. Nice fishing pond: I caught a nice bass. I would stay here again if in the area! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and well maintained. 50 amp sites were very wide and spacious. However, 30 amp sites were half size and very very close. I don't think two campers side by side could both open slide outs. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park with two sections. One section has very tight, side-by-side sites. We stayed in a nice gravel pull through and our rate reflected a stay six nights, get the seventh night free Value Kard rate. The management and staff was very helpful and friendly. We were there during recent heavy rains and there was much attention to ensuring there was ample gravel on the roads. There is not much entertainment or dining in the immediate area, but we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground is in the open and not heavily shaded, but many sites have a medium-sized tree. Clean & tidy campground, friendly owners, escort to site. Good overnighter. Distance from interstate means less road noise. Campground is on high ground so wasn't affected by this springs floods. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Office staff was friendly. There are level sites, however, campground appears to be geared toward weekenders from Des Moines, not overnighters. Overall this is an acceptable overnight stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice, well kept place, far enough from the interstate that road noise is not a problem. Gravel roads & driveways, good grass between sites. About one quarter are shaded, rest are not. Pool nicely setup but small. WiFi service faded sometimes but was acceptable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We enjoyed our stay and will return to this park. It is a short (a couple miles) off I-80 in Central Iowa, on a paved highway. The staff was very friendly. They were accommodating and catered to our kids. The location is in the country. There are very few trees in the actual campsites. Our site happened to be one of the very few with a mature tree. The majority of the sites are open to the sky. I received all of the Des Moines, IA digital TV stations without even raising my Winegard antenna from the driving position. The swimming pool was refreshing and a nice temperature, even for a 80 degree day. There is a new basketball court and hoop. The playground was decent for our kids. The store had basic necessities for RV supplies, plus basic food and snack type food. This was a nice stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice place to spend a few day's. Sites were big and roomy. Bathrooms and laundry area were clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a fishing pond and plenty of things for kids to do. In all it's a well kept park. We were glad to find this park as we had reservation at another park but when we got there we couldn't get our rig level so we left. Would return if in the area again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice quiet park in a rural setting that is ideal for touring the Winterset/Des Moines area. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a store that has all the necessary items. They added 10 sites recently for big rigs. We would definitely stay again when in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We camped overnight after a long day coming over from Cheyenne, WY. Being tired and ready for comfortable accommodations, we found it here. Friendly staff, big pull through sites, plenty of space in between sites. For an overnight or weekend stay, this place was excellent. We would definitely stop again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Over priced. Office staff friendly enough. But sites not level and roads are rough. After we left six miles from the park we had a broken leaf spring and were stranded on the side of the interstate for 5 hours. There has to be better places at a cheaper price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Large sites, flat hard gravel pads. Some very large sites, lots of grass. Hosts were very nice, guided us to our site. Everything seemed clean and well kept. It looks like a fairly new campground, not much in trees but I think we may stay here an extra day just to relax. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites were small and tight, but the park was clean. New crushed stone on the sites made it hard to get 5th level. Not a bad overnight stop except I was charged $38. Wifi was extremely weak and only worked if you took your laptop up to the office. I now remember why I never stay in KOA's. Probably would not stay again, mostly because of the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I had stayed here before and have come to know the owners and staff quite well. They are very cordial and accommodating. Well stocked store and the sites were well maintained. I have traveled extensively and find this place to be one of my favorites. I highly recommend anyone to stay at this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Stayed twice, on the way to/from Colorado. First time, checked in with a reservation, coming back, just dropped in. Had a full hookup with the reservation, and only water and electric as a drop in. The guy that showed us to our site asked if we wanted a fire that night, and he went off and came back with a semi-wheel, buried the thing and dropped off some wood for us. They are in the process of upgrading the sites, and the sites are a little close, but for a one nite stay, a wonderful place to pull in. By 10pm, all of the kids were in bed, and it was quiet as a ghost town. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is the typical KOA -- very crowded and tight, back-to-back sites. The first site they tried to put us in was 50 amps, and they moved us when they found out we only needed 30 amps. ("50 amp sites are a premium.") The next site they moved us to lasted about 5 minutes. They then told us that site was reserved for a month and we had to move. (They did apologize for making us move.) The 3rd site they put us in was back-to-back with another camper and the only way we could get our trailer in and slide open was to park on the grass. We told them that wouldn't work as at that point we were near the camper in front of us. We eventually got our money back and moved on down the road. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Earlier comments about the location were correct saying that the sites are very close,
however, that was the only thing we found wrong. I found that the owner had purchased it from his in-laws last year and he, along with his wife, are trying hard to improve it. We called from Kansas City, telling them we would be in after office hours, and he stayed to meet us. Camp was very clean. Would stay there any time we pass through. Pictures on website are accurate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

It was late November when we stopped here and not to much else was open. The park was completely empty when we got there at 15:00 and we had to roust out the fellow that takes care of it from his home next door. The water was turned off but
the power and sewer were available. I didn't have a 30 amp connector but he did have a couple of sites with 50. The park was like real quiet since we were the only people there. Another motorhome pulled in later that night. This is a very nice spot, no freeway noise. Might be a little tight during the summer as the sites are side by side. The park is very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Over all it was a well kept campground. The sites were fairly level. It was not busy at all, but the sites were back to back; so it could get tight. We were here 9/3 and 10/7 of 2003. During our trip we lost our KOA card and the owner would not give us the discount on our return trip, even though he had checked us in a month before. I was insulted that he thought I was trying to beat him out of $3. The place was nice, quite and convenient but I won't go back: and it's not the 3 bucks. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park - level sites. Was about 25 minutes west of Des Moines, however. We thought by the name of the campground, "West Des Moines KOA" that it was a western suburb. But it is actually quite a ways out on I-80. But overall - a very nice
campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
