Camper review in 2010 is very accurate. This is a nice quiet campground with really nice restrooms/showers. The Kalona City Park (in front of campground) is well-kept and has a newly updated swimming pool. The sites were built before campers had big motor homes, so spaces are tight if the park is full. Most sites are 30 amp/water. Dump station is easy to use. No reservations are accepted. Kalona has a wonderful downtown area with good places to eat and shop. Area has many different types of shopping. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nice quiet campground just east of Hwy 1 on Hwy 22. Located next to the Kalona City Park and swimming pool. Although there are technically 28 sites, in reality they are not set up properly so it is more like 14 pull-through sites. Only a couple of sites have 50 amp but most are dual 30 amp. Restrooms/showers are new and clean. Single dump station at the entrance, $10 if you're not staying here, only issue is you have to block the single lane in/out for the campground. No reservations accepted, and if you are paying cash you can run down to City Hall and hand it over if you're uncomfortable stuffing it in the box as we were. We'll stay here again (if we don't buy something first). We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
I disliked that the sport place was directly in the front of us - was not quiet! The bathroom was not clean at all! There is only one dump station and not a full hook up. I was missing Wi-Fi connections. I don't know if I would come back again...sorry. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very well kept city park. The sites are level and long enough to handle large units. The restroom and shower are newly constructed. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
