Kansas State parks now have on-line reservations available through their website which makes them much more appealing to those traveling from a distance. We found this to be a very nice campground with large well-maintained campsites with an abundance of shade. There are several different camping areas within this state park with varying amenities in each area. But every area looks to be very nice. Many sites are right next to the water of Melvern Lake, which is a beautiful lake with nice clear water. The sites in our area (Black Jack) had a wonderful shoreline with small pebble gravel and not mud. There are nice showers within short driving distance to each area, and each area has modern flush restrooms available within walking distance. This was our first time camping at Eisenhower State Park and it will not be our last. Modern playground, large clean beach, cabins and yurts, large boat ramp with boat slip rental. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
