According to the owner this is the oldest campground in Kansas and dates from 1886. There are many huge Sycamore trees which provide the sites with lots of shade. The sites on the West side where we stayed are not well marked but they are all grassy. There are more sites behind the roller rink which seem to be more popular. There are many things for children to do such as roller skating in the enclosed rink, and miniature golf. The buildings are all interesting as is the hotel and the Spring. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We moved here on Sunday of the Memorial Day Weekend. Even though they don't take reservations, there were several nice sites to choose from. The restrooms are old and small, but kept clean. Most of the park is old, but has a lot of historical interest. Family enjoyed the skating rink. No TV, but Verizon worked marginally. The sites are all grass side by side and fairly close together. Great, I suppose, if you're with someone. We were able to park on the end and had plenty of room. Enjoyed touring all the old buildings and hiking the 1/2 mile trail. Very nice, quiet campground. Would definitely come here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here for 9 days while visiting family in area. Nice, quiet campground. No AT&T cell phone service, very limited TV, no internet. Nice level grassy site. Very friendly staff. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Wonderful setting with a view of corn and bean fields. 3 1/2 miles off of Hwy 75, north of Sabetha and south of the Nebraska/Kansas line. You park your rig on grass and have to be careful with the low hanging trees in some spots. A lot to do for families with tennis, skating rink, playground and hiking; too bad the pool is no longer available. The two negatives about this resort for us was no cell phone or internet service. We will probably stay here again since this is where the family holds its reunions. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Two shaded campgrounds along Pony Creek. Includes a roller rink, snack bar, mini golf, horseshoe pit, tennis and volleyball court, hiking trails, and many facilities for group gatherings. Also included are cabins, a hotel (adults only because of the historic nature of the hotel) and other historic buildings. Very quiet and pleasant. About five miles from nearest town. Cash only accepted. Very friendly and helpful owners. We camped here in a Motorhome.
