Being right by Hwy 10 made it convenient to drive to the start of the IronMan race that I competed in at Lake Pontchartrain about 6 miles away. It is located 1 block north of the french quarter so it is perfect for those wanting to explore, eat, drink. The facilities were immaculate & staff very helpful & friendly. Pool area was small but beautiful. Hot tub was great. Would give this place 5 stars if not for the location in the projects & right next to major highway. Sirens are constant & the small park right next to the facility had a fund raiser to raise money for crime prevention while blaring offensive rap music for 4 hours. Thankfully, the staff new about the event and assured us that it would be over at 8pm...which it was. Walking outside the walls of the Resort was unnerving but felt completely safe within...a beautiful oasis amongst the thorns. Would stay here again for another New Orleans event but wouldn't make it a vacation destination. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here the first two nights we owned our new 40 ft fifth wheel. This park is surprisingly easy to get into considering it is in downtown New Orleans. Spots are easy to back into and the park is immaculately kept. It feels very safe inside the walls of the park even though you are right on the edge of the French Quarter. I found there was plenty of area to walk my poodle. Bonus is several French Quarter restaurants will deliver to the park. My main complaint was the costs, we were not allowed any discounts because of a basketball tournament in town, even though I seriously doubt any of the people I saw were there for that event. Seemed to be just an excuse to charge the higher rate. Also, there is a lot of city noise and traffic because you are right under I10, but you trade quiet for location. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is GS with taxes. Location for this park is its best attribute as well as its worst attribute.... It is an easy walk into the French Quarter which is great, but it also sits almost directly under I-10 and down a street with warehouses and closed shops that you need to go down to get to the FQ, which is not so great. The sites are great though in that they are nicely paved with brick and the pool area is nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A true "Urban Park" right next to the French Quarter. This is its major redeeming value, as it is extremely noisy 24-7. Sites were well paved, but almost no green areas to walk the dogs without going outside the fence; something which is not recommended at night. Well lit at night, with security fencing and pass gates. We stayed on site #50 for 3 nights and experienced major electronic and RF interference with everything from auto-gen start to Tire sensors system. Probably will never stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is Good Sam. Love this park and it's downtown location. This is our third time and we'll do again next year. Walking distance to the top of the French Quarter. Great amenities such as a rec room with large screen TV, exercise room, and nice pool and hot tub. Very nice Wi-Fi and cable TV. All sites are back in but are nice and wide and properly angled I highly recommend this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The proximity to the French Quarter made us select this RV park. We felt very secure even though it is next to a low income housing project. Electric gates are password protected. The park was full. The bathrooms were very nicely designed - individual large units with private showers but there were only 4 and need more frequent cleaning as they were quite dirty. Reception area nice but no store. They did have very small pool and hot tub. Free ice machine was also available. You had to call reception desk in early hours to access showers before the open time of 7 am. Frequently a wait to use them otherwise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. The woman at the front desk was very helpful. She answered all of our questions about the French Quarter and gave us some great recommendations. The French Quarter is 3 blocks from the park. I would give it a higher score if it wasn't so expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Oasis in the ghetto. Nestled between the projects and a cemetery, this lovely RV park with superb staff, beautiful pool, clean bathrooms, an outside bar, work out room awaits. Pavers distinguish spaces. Very secure but take a cab into the French quarter at night, day is fine to walk. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 5 days at this park. The sites are very easy to get into and overall the park was very clean. It takes a 10 minute walk to get to Bourbon Street and 20 minute to the Riverwalk area. The park has a lot of security and we felt very comfortable leaving our rig for the day while we sent sightseeing. We would return to this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There were pros and cons. Pros: the owners are very friendly and the grounds were clean. Nice pool and hot tub. Cons to this was: they have 11 cats that were roaming around, which I felt was a little too much. The cats messed on our out door carpet that we had to clean, plus in 3 others places by the picnic table. Therefore we had to keep our door closed more than we wanted to, due to the smell. I was most upset to find paw prints on the hood of our jeep. The laundry room needed a lot of up dating, and it was not very clean inside. I had to clean the top of the dryers, and the table before I could fold my clothes. I wasn't all that excited about the location, but due to the security gate I felt comfortable. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Other reviewers have pretty much said it all: this park is close to the French Quarter well within walking distance, the amenities are great, staff are very helpful, the sites are paved and level. The location is not the best, but the security provided is way above the norm. It is definitely the place to stay when coming to New Orleans. We knew of the noise from semis and buses just outside the rear wall (we read the reviews here before booking it); we did not know the back of our motorhome would shake each time a large vehicle went by. The best we could determine is that we were situated on one of the drain culverts located beneath the city that drains water out of the city, and this culvert ran under the park, our site (52) and under the adjacent roadway. We stayed here 4 nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All back in sites in a very new, modern looking campground. Price reflects location to the French quarter (less than 1/2 mile). You are downtown New Orleans, so there is a large wall surrounding the campground, but there is very good security with guards driving around the campground 24hrs. on a golf cart. Prices go way up during events, but when we come back we will certainly look this place up first. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If you are coming to New Orleans for a couple of days and especially want to see the French Quarter, this is the place. It is a beautiful park with full amenities and large sites. The staff is outstanding and very helpful (always had a dog treat ready). The only down side is the close proximity to I-10 and that noise, but it is tolerable. The other concern is the location which is next to a public housing project. The RV park is shielded by an 8 foot wall with decorative razor wire. Coded gate entry/exit. Felt very safe. French quarter is a few blocks and easily walked or biked to during the day, at night a cab ride cost between $8-$10. All in all a great place to stay for a short visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very convenient park while visiting New Orleans. Walk to French Quarters. Nice large level lots with excellent utilities and easy access. Only thing we had problems with was the dogs. Not a lot of space for walking them. There is definitely noise from the highway but it doesn't keep you awake at night. They even have free ice. What a perk. It is a bit pricey but it fills up every night!! We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Location, Location, Location. One well lit block from the French Quarter. Felt very secure and had no issue walking back at dusk 3 nights. Would take a taxi from the French Quarter if late at night. Noise and light from city and the I-10 kept me awake, but I can't blame the resort for that. Great base camp to explore the French Quarter. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a perfect spot for staying in your RV and visiting New Orleans. It is surrounded by a tall brick wall, gated, and is a few blocks walk to Bourbon Street. The office is a lovely brick building in keeping with the architecture in New Orleans. The sites are roomy and paved. The staff was very helpful in getting cabs, if needed. We were there for the Final Four, and we never felt unsafe at all in the area. In fact, there were probably 100 police officers next to the vacant building mentioned in a prior review. We asked the police about our safety. They just suggested we walk around the Visitors' Center beside which was a police station rather than walking near the projects which were on the other side of the area. I would highly recommend this park and would go back. We were not bothered by road noise, nor sirens. In fact, I don't even recall hearing any excess noise. Our site was about midway down the road. After reading other reviews, I have to admit that I was truly surprised about how lovely this park is. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground is clean, sites are paved and level. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Only 15 minute walk to French Quarter. In my opinion, the only reason to stay in this park is to be able to walk to the French Quarter. The area around the park is considered, by the staff, to be safe during the day and not at night. I would agree. Traffic noise from I-10 is intrusive; however, the sirens from ambulances are, quite frankly, ridiculous. It never ends, 24 hours a day. My coach is well insulated and minimized the noise in the bedroom. With the air conditioners running I was able to sleep; my wife had difficulty. I would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice campground, we felt safe here, it is all gated and security is on site at all times. We walked to the French Quarter from here in the day and it was fine. The pool was closed when we were there - that was disappointing because it looked nice. It is all paved and was clean. The price was a bit high I thought. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 5 days just before Mardi Gras. The RV Resort was clean, and well maintained. The shower/bath rooms were spotless and very large and roomy. With about 60 sites at the park, they we always clean and comfortable. They had a hot tub and pool but it was a bit cool to use. The RV Park was walled and secure and an easy walk to the French Quarter, through a 200-300 yard parking lot through a closed-down grocery store and by a Police station and down 3-4 blocks on St Louis St to Bourbon St. During the day, all is well. At night it gets dodgy walking from the Police station through the empty parking lot. I parked near Cemetery #1 across the street from the Police station and drove to the RV Park. Walking up St. Louis Street felt safe. The evening noise at the park is loud in the early evening and drops off later in the evening. It gets noisy about 6 AM with a factory next door and I-10 traffic picking up about 6AM. Plan to get up early for an exciting day at the Big Easy! Overall, it is a great park, clean and well maintained, friendly staff and fellow campers, but it is a city RV Park so expect some noise. Well worth the extra price for being so near the French Quarter. We gave it a 9 only due to the noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price represents average over 8 nights. It is $79 weekdays, $139 weekend. During special events it gets much higher. It is a beautiful place. Large paver parking (no picnic tables) with grass in between. Staff were very helpful and anytime we asked for information they either had it or found it. We stayed here so we could walk to the French Quarter. They give the best route to take to/from and recommend not doing it at night however we walked it at night several times with no problem. If you don’t want to walk the 7 blocks it is a $7 cab ride. We were in a 5th wheel (generally surrounded by big, new motor coaches) and would stay here again. Wi-Fi was available but speed wasn’t as fast as my Verizon 4G MiFi. Hot tub is fixed. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is one of the most expensive we have stayed at, but the staff is very nice and the park is pretty nice. The hot tub was broken when we were there and they said it needed to be replaced. That was a bit of a bummer since we paid so much. The park is pretty close to the French Quarter, but you are near the projects and you do have to walk through an abandoned grocery store parking lot to get over to the French Quarter. I give the park only 7 stars because it is so expensive and the hot tub was broken. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is extremely clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location had me a bit worried but the campground is pretty secure. The only reason for the 8 was because of the sirens that are constantly going and if your site is next to the I-10 bridge it's not easy to sleep. Overall we would stay here again for a day or two! Stayed 3 nights. Everything was professional and well done. Girl came out of office for initial contact; told me where to park, how to check in and asked the initial questions. Quite nice. Wi-Fi was around 120k/sec speed, cable TV was limited to 12 channels. Sites were extraordinary; wide, deep, w/paver bricks including a paved space for toads. I was a little hesitant about the rate (Good Sam), but adding in shuttles, parking, French Quarter traffic and inconvenience, this isn't too far from other CG further out. Definitely would repeat here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park and considering its location, it makes it even better. The sites are spacious, with some grass at each site. The pool is beautiful, albeit not heated so cold. However the hot tub/spa was wonderful. The office and maintenance staff was very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was free but not real strong. Overall a great park. Pricey: but its location, location, location, so they can get away with it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice, clean, safe RV resort right in downtown New Orleans. Easy walk to French Quarter and easy access to all the sights in this wonderful city. Right next to I-10, big billboard inside so you will always know the Powerball jackpot. No trees, but that's OK. We came to see the city, not to "camp", all paved sites with grass. Great staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Good signs off 1-10. Can see RV Resort from 1-10. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION..within 3-4 blocks of Bourbon Street..but do not walk or ride a bike at all outside of the fenced and gated compound. The resort next door to a HOUSING PROJECT and considered very dangerous to walk on streets even in day time even though a police station is just 2 blocks away..take a $7 cab. The resort is 5star, paved streets and pads, grass cut, very clean and seems to attract the big motorhomes. We understand about 5 of the pads are privately owned. The resort is 5 years old. Staff very friendly and helpful..can suggest cabs, tours and restaurants. 24hr/24/7 security guard, high brick wall and electronic gate. There is a beautiful illusion pool area. No landscaping except about pool area. There was no shade. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very expensive. Right downtown, walk to Bourbon St., so you know the neighborhood. Very well manicured park with security fence and gate. Nice little pool. TV at pool so you can watch the game or race. Tricky to find when you come in, but we had no problem. Just go slow and don't miss the turns. Right next to the the Interstate bridge, so there is some noise, but the AC's were running so I could not hear that. I liked it fine and would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful RV Resort right next to the French Quarter. It is all new. Everything is clean and nice. The only negitive is the bathrooms didn't have A/C, which seems small, but with the humidity in New Orleans, the showers were hard to enjoy. Even though it is right in the middle of things it was very private and we felt very safe. Our rate was PA. I had a very hard time leaving here, my wife wanted to stay. Very convenient park to the French Quarter but we had chosen it because they said it had high speed Wi-Fi. They actually had extremely slow and out of date Wi-Fi and no hard wired connection available at the sites. Also, we were told not to walk back from the French Quarter at night because it was not safe. On the positive side, the staff was very helpful and thoughtful. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

Very nice park within walking distance of the French Quarter. Clean, secure, and well maintained. Friendly staff and very pet-friendly. Our kids played in the pool, and we walked and biked into New Orleans each of our three days here. Like most facilities within a larger city, there is not much in the way of greenery. We stayed here right after Hurricane Katrina when it was new and the owners were looking for investors. Then we had a nice social hour reception and they were particular about the type RV's coming in. None of that this time. All RV's big or little, rented and even a semi. Location to French Quarter is great, good security and good info from staff. For the price, breakfast would be welcome. Access winds around closed buildings but is marked and close to I-10. Likes: Proximity to French Quarter and Jazz & Heritage Festival Dislikes: Prepaid with credit card a month ahead for Jazz & Heritage Festival weekend, reconfirmed 48 hours prior to scheduled arrival, arrived on Thursday evening after driving 900 miles, and were told "sorry, we have no available spaces". The Manager did credit our credit card for the amount we prepaid, Called Ponchartrain Landing (another RV place nearby) got a space and was told that we were not the first that had called that day after being denied a prepaid space at FQRV. We are very glad we found the PLRV park because the spaces were bigger, were not as cramped, the staff was very helpful, and they included a free shuttle to and from the festival. We will not return to French Quarter RV ever again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a great site in the middle of the campground. However had we been closer to I-10, that could have impacted my scoring as we were never bothered by traffic noise. Everyone working at the French Quarter Park was terrific. My wife and I felt safe, we really enjoyed this park. All utilities were excellent, sites had pavers and the grass was excellent. If we get a chance to come back to this area, we will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful place and we didn't mind paying the money for it. We stayed 3 nights. The sites are large and level. mostly patio in front, but a patch of grass at every site. (Good for my doggies). Very pet friendly. There is a "doggie treat window" for when we took the doggies walking. This is a gated resort within a few blocks of the French Quarter. There is still one apt buildling from the old projects just beyond the resort, but I DID feel safe there. Pool and hot tub area is beautiful. Bathrooms, laundry and reception is A+. It is a bit noisy with traffic and sirens... but I sleep with earplugs so no problem for me! Would definitely stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This RV Park is 2-3 blocks from the French Quarter and was a great place from which to base our New Orleans visit. Signage from I-10 was clear, and but we would suggest avoiding rush hours 7-9a and 3-7p for arrival and departure. The park is gated and we felt very safe. Site surface is pavers, and the park drive is one-way. After entering the gate, pull forward, rather than turning. Concierge service has been very helpful: in fact, they made our city tour reservation complete with pickup at the RV park, and suggested a great pizza delivery restaurant. Walking to the French Quarter has provided needed exercise. The food in the city is fantastic! Wi-Fi works well from the site. A very small pool, laundry, and hot tub are available. No activities for children, including no bicycling within the compact park. Since this park is in the city, expect to hear traffic noise from I-10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is $69 per night, but for that you are very close to the French Quarter. You get a hot tub, Wi-Fi that actually works, a nice workout room, lounge, common outdoor grill area, a free paper, and a free shuttle close to the quarter. There are always a lot of very very expensive rvs and buses there. Safety could be an issue there, you are right next to the projects. I only give it a 7 because of safety concerns and also because it is expensive. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Price reflects one night at half price per Passport. Regular $ is $70. We stayed here only two nights, passing through, but this was the way to do it. Easy walk to the French Quarter (about a quarter mile), and "stalag-like" security, which is necessary in that section of town. Great level sites with easy hookups, cable TV, pools, great staff, all the amenities you would expect for that price. If you're going to see the Big Easy, and can afford it, stay here. No heat in bathrooms or laundry room and it was below freezing at night here in Jan. Unacceptable at a high-priced "resort!" Perimeter fence is under I-10 and hwy noise is high at all hours. No picnic tables. Gigantic bill board rose above our site: a unique feature of this resort. We would have moved but were trapped by conditions on cancellations and stuck it out. Pluses: walking distance to French Quarter (but not at night due to personal safety concerns). The saving grace for this camp ground: it is right down town and the grounds are well kept. WiFi generally good but choked while writing this review (maybe they are watching?). Mediocre rating based on not getting good value, unheated facilities. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice newer park. I couldn't give it a ten because of the freeway noise but it does fade into the background. The park is clean, friendly staff and great Wi-Fi. It also has a small pool, hot tub, work out and rec rooms. It is super convenient to the French Quarter. We walked both to and from. It is just 4 blocks, partly past the information center and the New Orleans police department. They do recommend you take a cab late at night but we did not have any problems. I gave this park a 5 since we didn't sleep for two days because of the noise from Interstate 10 which is about 100 yards from the park. The constant sound of sirens does not make you feel any safer. It is definitely one of the most high class parks we've stayed at. The price reflects that. However, you must like the city feel of this park. There is not a tree anywhere. It is a parking lot with pavers. A step up from concrete. It is within walking distance from Bourbon Street. About a half mile. Don't do it at night though. Just west of the park (next door) is a housing project. They will tell you up front not to walk the area at night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I very rarely rate a park as a 10 but this one qualifies. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They arranged a city tour and called us in the MH when the van arrived. Rate reflects Passport America for first night and Good Sam discount for second night. Not quite walking distance to Bourbon Street in the Quarter but quite close. A marvelous RV park, a few blocks from the French Quarter. The owner of this park also owns most of the empty land around it, but the area is undeveloped. Very friendly staff and reasonable rates, considering how close they are to the heart of New Orleans. The price started at $69 for two, plus $10 for each additional person, with some allowance for kids (we had 4 adults and three kids.) A couple of issues we had: 1) No shade. We arrived during a hot, hot month, and without A/C we would have died! It is one, big concrete RV slab, with grass and buildings. Nicely laid out though. 2) Security. Outside of the great security in the Park itself, residents and staff warned us many times against walking to or from the Park after dark. While nothing happened during our stay, that implies a real issue with local crime. 3) Something that seems a real shame with almost every place we stayed at in the U.S. was the lack of recycling. It was very hard for us, after years of putting bottles and cans into recycling, to just throw them all away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

To be fair, this park is very convenient to French quarter and looks very nice. We had reservations since December 2009. Upon calling to confirm reservation and arrival date, we were told park had been purchased in late May, early June by new owners and that NO reservations were carried over. This includes deposits. Were told that we would have to bring proof of payment, still pay full price and wait for the refund which they would have to confirm and then would send us. Additionally we were told that we would have to pay full amount prior to our arrival which does not match what they advertise on their website. Be careful here: too many changes for our comfort. Park is about 3 blocks from French Quarter - very convenient. It would seem that the park is located close to a bad part of town - but no problems walking to the French Quarter. All sites paved - no shade though. The park is just off a major highway with high walls and a Coded Security fence. Stayed 4 nights (rate $69 -paid $34.50 PA 1 night only). We loved this place! It was very close to everything in the French Quarter, though the area is a bit unsafe. Because of that, the staff were very helpful and gave us rides in the golf cart to Canal Street without a problem. Like everybody in New Orleans, they were polite and welcoming! The pool was great, the laundry facilities very neat and nice. There is a free ice machine that works great and is a big plus in New Orleans! We would all come back here anytime! This is a very upscale oasis in the heart of New Orleans, just a few blocks away from the French Quarter (+) and I-10 (-). All facilities are in excellent shape, with paved interior roads and large sites done in paving bricks with grass in between. All sites are back-ins but there is plenty of room to maneuver even the largest rigs. Other than the large billboard pole in the center of the campground, there's nothing to block satellite reception, although cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and security is provided 24/7. Their business model involves selling sites (owner-improved) and then providing rentals. Although it's not clear how many they have sold, we did see some "patio not for use of renters" type signs. Rates vary by weekday/weekend, and spike greatly during special events. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OK, you have heard the reports about how the traffic is loud. Well, if you want convenience to the interstate AND the French Quarter, you ARE going to have a little noise! We found it well worth the price of a little noise. Ask for a campsite close to gate and office which are AWAY from the interstate. Oh, yes, if you have a Passport America m/s, ask for that also. The pool and hot tub are so nice and located in the sweet little courtyard. Not much grass in the campground, but there is a park across the road to walk dogs. Some sites near the gate have screened-in gazebos. Looks nice, but we didn't know about those until we arrived. Oh, yes, the place is very clean, 24 hour security. We did short walk to the French Quarter with a brief look at the old cemetery and then took a taxi back: as suggested. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Park is very convenient to the French Quarter. This is an inner city location adjacent to an interstate highway. Some people are not comfortable in this environment. My wife and I have stayed here several times. We have walked all over the French Quarter and the local neighborhood touring cemetaries, etc., and have never encountered an unfriendly face. Great park for enjoying the French Quarter without having to drive one's own vehicle. We have a small Class C, no tow vehicle, so this place was a real treat. We walked and walked (and took a cab back if after dark. The driver delivered us right to our site), and had a great time. Now, of COURSE it's noisy, but that's the price one pays for easy access off the interstate. I sure don't want to drive my motorhome very far on NOLA streets, so it was fabulous to just exit and get parked for a 3-day stretch. Just use some headphones at night, and have a daiquiri or two, and you'll sleep quite well ;-). We found the sites to be far enough in between to not feel like sardines (a rarity in most commercial campgrounds), and there was grass for our dog (plus a public park right next door). We enjoyed the hot tub and pool, but thought that the bathrooms needed more frequent attention. The laundry room appeared to be quite functional, and the front desk staff couldn't be nicer. If you ask for a lift, they will save you the .2 mile walk to the edge of the Quarter with their golf cart. Useful when one is walking for many hours a day. So, laissez le bon temps rouler! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Location. Location. Location. It's what this park has. Easy walking distance to the French Quarter. The park itself is well maintained and the staff friendly. The Wi-Fi worked great the entire time we were there. The courtyard is very pretty and relaxing - providing fitness room, pool, hot tub, laundry and private bath suites. The spots all provided ample room, we didn't feel crowded at all. We were warned to take a taxi at night to get back to the park, but we felt extremely safe walking around the area after walking 15 miles all over New Orleans. (They apparently no longer offer golf cart service as previous reviews indicate). There's graffiti on the building next door that says 'TV Off. Brain On.' We found that clever, not scary! The neighborhood kids we met were all charming. The downsides include: - Pricey. You *pay* for this location. This was a splurge for us (we're full-timers), and felt it was worth it tho considering the other options. - They lock the courtyard from midnight-6a. Which is annoying if you want to use the bathroom or take a shower after a late night on the town. I guess they presume everyone has ample bath space in their rigs, as they generally cater to luxury class rigs (which is not us). - It could use some landscaping - while clean, it feels a bit barren. - Right next to the interstate. We stayed midway in the park - it wasn't too bad. They seem to place older rigs at the back of the park under the interstate, keeping the shinier ones up front. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were lucky enough to be here for the Saints Super Bowl parade. The sites are great: level with concrete pads. Hot tub if you need it and it was cold and damp during our stay. Back of resort is under the interstate and noisy, so ask for the front sites. It was very clean and friendly. Hopefully they will get rid of the old pink Winn Dixie building as it was a terrible eye sore. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was an amazing park with incredibly easy access to the French Quarter. We stayed two nights: one at the PA rate and one with the 10% discount for Good Sam members. It was totally worth the money as we were able to walk wherever we wanted or could have ridden our bikes. One of the Visitors Centres was right across the way for easy access to tours. We would definitely stay here again. Although it's more money than some of the outlying parks, you do not have to drive in and out whenever you want to venture into the French Quarter, it is right on your doorstep. I arrived at this park after hours and, using Mapquest, pulled up to an empty lot in front of an abandoned building complete with stray dogs running in the moonlight. Welcome to the French Quarter. The RV campsites are through the lot and behind the dilapidated building. The rates are very high, much more so on special event nights, but this doesn't bother me as much when I can tell that the park owner spent good money on high quality facilities, fixtures and professional employees. The sites in the back end of the park are right under the freeway. Overall this small park was immaculate. Pricey, but, (to me), worth the thrill of camping in the French Quarter. My big problem is calling it a resort, there are no resort type activities here. The walking is around the small park. The park is trying to sell all the sites to turn it into time shares. The cable system has only 10 channels. Good Wi-Fi and you can use your satellite dish if you are in the right spot. We were given a spot with a huge billboard behind us which blocked the satellite. There is no store, and no reading library. There is a small game room and a nice pool. Given the price I will find some where else next time and drive into the quarter if I have to go there. Made reservations 8 months prior to stay. These greedy people did not want to honor it because of HUGE rate changes. Stayed 1 night after arriving late. When owners came in the next day, they tried to charge 4X what I had paid for in full in June. They left me in New Orleans on New Years Eve without a place to stay. Stay away at all costs, a reservation means nothing. Bayou Sagnette State Park is only 10 minutes away for only $18, not $200 per night like these scalpers charge for big events. You can cab it to the Algiers Ferry if you want to drink in the quarter. The ferry is free and let's you off right by the Hilton Riverside. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

However, you are warned not to be out at night between Bourbon St. and the RV resort. With this in mind, we still felt very secure while in the park as it has very good security and is gated. This is certainly not your typical campground. After proceeding to the back of an abandoned grocery store parking lot we were greeted at the gate by a nice young gentleman clad in suit and tie. We camped under the light of a highway billboard in an adequately sized site on brick pavers. In the daylight we were able to walk leisurely to the French Quarter. We didn't spend the night, but rather, paid $30 to park for half a day. The campground is right off the freeway in the French Quarter. It's all concrete and no shade trees, but extremely clean and some sites have nice gazebos. The clubhouse area is small, but very nice. Clean bathrooms, nice pool and gym. Staff was extremely friendly. You can walk to the visitor center from the campground, and to the French Quarter if you don't mind a little hike. We walked to the aquarium but took a cab back. I would recommend this place if you want to be close to New Orleans and are willing to sacrifice shade and grass. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Loved the FQRV park. To start, the staff was very kind and helpful and will even give you a golf cart ride to the visitor's center 2 blocks away (covers about 1/2 the distance to the French Quarter). The park is a very short walk to the French Quarter and is less than a mile from the French Market at the river's edge. Makes going into town very easy. You do have to walk across a big empty parking lot, but we felt safe walking this distance (we did not however make the walk after dark just because we were never out late since we have an infant). The price is high and does vary by season/event, but it is worth the money for the close distance to town. Our site was perfectly level and the other sites look to be that way too. The grounds were very well kept and clean. The pool is a salt water pool and is warm and clean. The showers and restrooms were also very nice and clean (not your standard public restroom stalls). The park wi-fi worked well and there is also a printer/fax machine if needed. The office is open 24 hours a day, and the park is gated with codes to get in and out - felt very safe the entire time. The park is next to the freeway, so you can hear traffic noise. We ran our air conditioner most of the time, so the noise wasn't a problem. Sirens can also be heard going by, but again, with the air/fans on it was not a problem. We would gladly stay here again and wish it was closer to home. We camped here in a Motorhome.

However, the sites are spacious and the park was designed so that it is easy to back into your site. It was very very easy to get into the park from I-10 and the signage and staff help exceeded our expectations. The roadways are wide and the sites are spacious. The security seems more than adequate. The cost is more than the average campground, but this place is not average! The cost is certainly far, far less than a hotel room in the French Quarter! We will certainly come back - what a great way to visit "The Big Easy"! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful place to stay, located within walking distance to the French Quarter. Taxi service to and from the front gate is available. The sites are large brick paved areas with room for your vehicle on an adjacent pad. The roadway is wide, the entrance is gated with security codes for access. It has a excercise room, small unheated pool, and a hot tub, laundry facilities were like new. The CG is located right next to I-10 overpass but didn't notice the road noise at night. Rate paid reflects FMCA discount. Given the traffic noise and area this park resides in, a "10" is just too high. It's certainly the best bet in the city, and we'd stay here again. While I hesitate to say the combination restrooms/showers are not clean, they need to be serviced more often. Not mentioned in any earlier review I've seen is the enormous pole holding two huge billboards facing I-10 and rising 75 feet above the park - several sites are directly underneath it, a little unnerving. Ask for a site that faces east, then you will have shade in the afternoon. It's nice to see all types of RVs here, not just big class A's although they are plentiful. Sites are level and spacious, and arranged so you are not back-to-back with another unit. There are some super-premium sites up front with screen gazebos - they must cost more and would likely need to be requested in advance. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is located close to the FQ, but it is still a few blocks away. I would NOT recommend walking at night back to the RV park from the FQ. A cab ride is about $7. The campground folks will bring you as close to the FQ as they can in their golf cart, but even when they do, you still have 2 busy streets to cross with no crosswalks to get to the FQ. The sites in the rear of this park should be nearly free. I say this because if you get a site in the rear you will likely not be able to sleep at all. The freeway noise is so loud, it will drown out the noiseist a/c unit avaiable. And the ambulances run constantly ... and the 18 wheelers driving on the overpass will literally "shake" your motorhome. The rear sites are awful period. The rate is too high for what you get here. The cinderblock wall with RAZOR EDGE will give you a sense of protection, but also an idea of what you're dealing with in the neighborhood by this RV park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a first class park located in the middle of the city. The park is gated and surrounded by a large, attractive, concrete fence. The place is secure, with employees making the rounds often at night. If you are wanting to visit the French Quarter and downtown NOLA, then this is the place to stay. The employees are friendly and very willing to answer tourist questions. They will even give you a golf cart ride half the distance to the French Quarter, which is only about four blocks away. There is traffic and city noise here because you are located in the heart of an urban area and right next to IH-10. The park easily accommodates big rigs, and access to and from the interstate is easy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is an oasis in the heart of a very boisterous city. Everything here is first-class and very well done. Although the sites are not pull-through they are very spacious and well maintained. Security is first rate. We used the golf cart shuttle to the edge of the French Quarter several times and it was a very efficient way to get to and from the neighborhood. Newspapers and coffee are free each morning and the staff is pleasant and welcoming. We stayed here last year and this is our repeat visit for 5 days. This RV park is in a great location for visiting New Orleans. You can walk to almost all places in the French Quarter, although we did take a cab after dark as we did not feel safe walking and it was suggested by the camp hosts. Camp hosts and manager were very hospitable and ever so helpful in suggesting restaurants and answering our questions. The place was spotless clean and manicured all very appealing. We felt very safe once inside this gated community and in knowing there was 24 hr security. First class resort amenities, even the daily newspaper was provided. There is a little park right beside the resort that we used to exercise our pooch. The only downfall was that there were no picnic tables at the sites and the sites 14-19 are very noisy due to the freeway above. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to others. A gorgeous and amazing RV park within two blocks of the French Quarter! We were welcomed at the gate by the manager and immediately escorted to our site. The Grey brick interior road and the red brick sites (with patios) are extremely pleasing to the eyes! The entire park is meticulously spotless. All of the staff members were so helpful in helping us out with our first time in New Orleans. I have to admit that I wasn't too certain I wanted to stay there when we first exited the interstate and entered a "not so welcoming" area of New Orleans! However, once we got to our site and settled in, we felt safe, secure and right at home. We look forward to staying here again and again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is so close, yet so far, from the north edge of the beautiful French Quarter. In between is a large, abandoned (since Katrina) supermarket property, that is adjacent to low-income ‘projects.’ The friendly, helpful staff here believes that it is probably OK to walk through the supermarket property during daylight, but not at night. They offer a free golf cart ride through that property and drop you off at a Welcome Center next to a police station, 24 hours a day, as long as someone is available to do it (i.e., don’t count on it). We were just passing through for a one-night visit of "N'awlins" this time, and being so close to I-10 and the French Quarter was perfect for us. Their option to pay $5/hour for late checkout was also appreciated. We took the golf cart ride in the afternoon to see what it entailed, but on the way back in the early evening there was an event going on nearby and several cops were around to guard the parked cars, so we just walked with no incident. I’m not sure just how dangerous it really is (due to the proximity of the police station and the fact that it is well-lit), or if the management is overprotective. You can of course take a cab to and from the heart of the French Quarter, and a company is recommended by the camp. The camp itself is a fortress, surrounded by walls topped with barbed wire, and security gates for both vehicles and pedestrians. After midnight you need to call security to get back in. Inside are large, paved sites, with grassy areas, and ample place to park your extra vehicle. A few sites have screened gazebos. The perimeter sites seem nicer than the ones in the interior lot that back up against each other. The modern central facilities have several individual bathrooms with showers (the best/most modern I've seen at a campground), a small heated pool and spa (the spa was not working at the time), laundry, workout room, big screen TV room, a large BBQ, free morning coffee, and a nice computer room with two computers. They claim to have free wi-fi but the system was being ‘upgraded’ during our stay and never worked. All in all it was worth the $62 (Good Sam/AAA) to be in a new, secure, modern campground within easy walking distance of the French Quarter. Passport America will give you a bigger discount for one night Monday-Thursday non-holiday only. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Unfortunately, this is the only campground within walking distance of the French Quarter and therefore their price reflects that. It was built on part of a parking lot of an old Target store that closed after Katrina. It is adjacent to the freeway (noise) and directly adjacent to the "projects" (welfare housing - drug dealers etc). It is gated and has 24 hour attendants. The campground is clean and reasonably well kept. The employees told us it was a bit risky walking from the park to the French Quarter due to the "projects" which is why they provide 24 hour golf cart rides between the park and the New Orleans visitor center (about 1/4 mile). However, we, like other visitors, found this to be available at the whim of the employees. Several times we found we had to walk because they would not answer the phone only to find two or three employees sitting at the desk chatting about their girlfriends or whatnot. The attitude of the employees are hit or miss. Some are friendly, most communicate through body language that customers are merely a burden. On new years they were very booked and raised their rates for that night to $169 and had no spots available. They told us we would be able to stay in the vacant lot just outside the gate and dry camp for $100/night. Although rather outrageous for dry camping, we were told we would still have full access to Internet, showers, etc. and since it was only about 100 feet from the gate we didn't mind. On the day we had to move, they told us we could NOT park in this spot but rather had to park on the other side of the closed Target building which is nearly 1/4 mile away and actually right next to the projects - no Internet and, of course, a very long walk to use the pool or showers. Of course, the price was still $100. Needless to say, we feel we had been mislead and duped. This place if fine for a quick visit to the French Quarter because of it's proximity but that's all you get for your money because the service (and honesty) is definitely not consistant with the price. On our next visit to New Orleans we plan to find somewhere a few miles away and drive to the visitor center ourselves for our visits to the French Quarter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very enjoyable stay here. Yes, it is lots of concrete but it's right by the quarter and there is nothing else comparable that prevents you from having to drive into New Orleans. Pool and club house are well done and everything is brand new. The owner is friendly and helpful--full of good advice for restaurants. My only complaint is that we were told the staff would pick us up in their golf cart anytime we called (no need to make arrangements early) and when we called around 9:30pm for a pick up the line was busy. After a while with no luck getting through we finally just went ahead and walked. The walk is not long but it is through a bad neighborhood with a long abandoned building and parking lot to cross--my New Orleans friends were not happy with us doing this once they found out! Despite this I would gladly stay here again--the park itself is quite well-secured. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a fine little park, smack dab in the middle of New Orleans. The French Quarter is indeed but a few blocks and they do give you a ride to and from the main street; for your walk to begin. The owners and staff were great, we really enjoyed visiting with them. As I read through some older posts, I see very few complaints. It's hard to beat an oasis in the concrete jungle! I do have a suggestion or two. Lower the temp on the hot tub 2 or 3 degrees. Maybe, the last hour of the day the pool and spa could be adults only? Make the laundry room a "dry feet" zone, and yes, some barrels of flowers and plants would make this place more beautiful. And while I'm dreaming, how about an on call masseuse. But then, our rating system would have to go to at least a 12, in order to rate this park. In my opinion these fine folks will have recycling on board as soon as the City of New Orleans gets it's recycle program back on track from Katrina. Go visit, the city needs our support! The park still feels new, and the amenities were greatly appreciated by us. We have already made our reservation for Mardi Gras 09. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Although this park is in a rough area of town, my wife and I felt very secure here. The tall brick wall surrounding the park is topped with protective metal spikes. Also, the park appears to be manned 24 hours per day. If I would suggest an improvement, it would be a security gate keypad that did not require the guest to have to get out of the car to use. However, every time we drove up, they opened the gate for use. So, I can’t really complain. The sites are quite large and level. If you run your A/C fan, the noise is not really that bad. If you want to be in town, this is your only option – and it’s a very good one. The park staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground was a real gem. The management was very willing to drive us in a golf cart the 3 blocks to the end of their property when visiting the French Quarter. You simply cross the street and walk a couple of short blocks and you are there. Very easy and we felt very safe and secure. The salt water hot tub was fabulous. The campground is great for visiting and walking all around New Orleans, a straight walk into the main area of the French Quarter (St. James), worth the extra dollars. The campground is very secure - security gate. The staff will drive you out to one of New Orleans visitor's center in their golf cart to the end of their property line. It is not a far walk, but it was in the 90s when we visited, they will also pick you up if you call them on your way back in, it was very nice extra. I would stay here again in a minute. The grounds felt very secure, very well monitored and maintained. The 4 bathrooms are "suites" private sink/toilet/shower, that are clean and pleasant to use. The "workout" room looked very nice, but we did not use it. The pool and hot tub area was great. The laundry room was clean and always accessible. We would definitely stay there again. This park is very different from any we've stayed at before. It is within walking distance to the French Quarter, so very conveniently located. The sites are all very big and well kept. The pool and hot tub are very nice and the laundry and bathrooms are beautiful. The staff are all very nice and helpful (though they might want to take a few of the local tours to give better advice on which to recommend (try the walking tours that start at Cafe Begnet)). The only downside to this place is its location (it is both a plus and a minus). It is right below the freeway, so there is a lot of traffic noise. Also, being on the edge of the French Quarter, it is right next to a not so safe part of town (the area across the freeway). Given that, the park is surrounded by a large brick fence topped with sharp spines and is patrolled by security 24 hrs (both reassuring and disconcerting). They do offer to reimburse you for cab fare back from the French Quarter, but we ended up walking both ways when we went, never feeling unsafe (it was early in the evening, as we have kids). We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is absolutely one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at in our two years of travel. Tight security within a walled compound and an electric gate. The interior roads and pads are all paved. No trees which is a positive to us as both of our satellites worked perfectly. Some sites have gazebos. Great staff and amenities. Friday and Saturday night there is a two hour (fee) cocktail party. We enjoyed meeting other travelers. The park is within walking distance to the French Quarter and it is easy to access from I-10. Although we paid more than we usually do, we did not have to pay for taxi's, buses or parking (which is about $20). We highly recommend staying at this campground. I am usually very picky about the campgrounds I stay in. It was amazingly clean. The people we very nice. It was close to every thing in New Orleans. I was there for a convention and arrived faster to the events then my counterparts who rode buses from the hotels right next to the convention center. If you are looking to spend a few days exploring New Orleans and do not want to have to drive in from the subburbs, this is the place to stay. The daily rate is higher than most RV sites but compared to the price of the hotels in the area, the cost of transportation in and out of the city it is well worth it. Highway 10 is right above the part so there is a constant steady noise so I used my AC fan to block out the noise and slept without issue. This is not the type of campground to stay in if not planning on getting out and seeing New Orleans. I doubt they have many campground events as there is already so much to do in the city. We stayed here for 5 nights. We chose to stay here because of the convenient location to the French Quarter. The French Quarter is approximately half a mile walking distance. Other attractions like the WWII museum and the Aquarium of the Americas are also within walking distance. The park is clean and the amenities are great. There is a fitness room, a lounge area with big screen TV, a pool, and a hot tub. The hot tub needs to have controls at the tub itself. Even though there are always folks around, it is sometimes hard to locate them in order for them to cut the hot tub on, or regulate the temperature, especially at night. The restrooms and showers are also very nice and clean, but the shower area is lacking a tray for your soap and shampoo. The price is somewhat high, but they have a lot to offer. We also got Good Sam discount for all the nights. Wi-Fi was good and they had a few cable channels. Obviously, though, you don't come here to watch TV. Access to the park and the sites is very big-rig friendly. Security and safety is a high priority for the owner, so armed guards are always present and very friendly. As some others already mentioned, they provide you with cab vouchers for a cab ride home at night. You get one voucher per day. One night the owner himself gave us a ride into town. The park is a bit noisy due to the noise from the interstate, but we found that at night it wasn't a big issue. The owner and the staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The only downsides for us are the road noise (unavoidable and not that bad at night) and the absence of an off-leash area (not really enough room for one here but essential for us to give a place a ten). Lovely salt-water tiled pool and hot tub, beautiful facilities and exercise room. Friendly hosts. If you're going to get "concerned" about armed security or "spooked" by the beauty of a New Orleans cemetary, why are you here? And those housing projects are for people who need to live here. We stayed here for 2 nights (over Halloween). Nice, new, clean park, close to the French Quarter. Expensive at $69, but they honor several discounts for 10%. Good wi-fi and cable (free), easy in and easy out (back-in) and full hookups. Good security, but it was a bit concerning to see armed security guards patrolling the park. There is a nearby housing project which could, possibly, cause problems. Also somewhat spooky, on Halloween, to look over the fence and see one of New Orleans above ground cemetaries. The owner was present a lot of the time and they provide a cab voucher for a free cab ride back from the Quarter. We were on the north end, close to I-10. It was definitely noisy. In October, 2006, New Orleans needs another 18-24 months to get rebuilt and on it's feet. We'll return again, but it will be a while. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent location, near the French Quarter. 24 hour Security Guard. Closed facility, with security gates. Well lighted, New Complex with all the amenities of a Resort. My wife and I stayed here for one night. We enjoyed the new resort. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. The owner is on duty all the time and goes out of his way to make sure you have a safe and pleasant time. I gave him my cell phone number and told him we would be back around midnight. We were running late from having such a good time, my cell phone rang, and it was the owner just checking on us to make sure everything was O.K. Now, that is customer satisfaction. We will be back for the other festivals, now that we have found a safe and secure place to stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are wanting to get close to the French Quarter without paying through the nose, this is a great RV Park. They offer shuttle service to and from the French Quarter from morning to around 10pm. Great WiFi and Cable TV. The RV Park is very tight though, and while they are pet friendly, there's not a lot of places to take your dog, other than your own area and up and down the single road in/out. Would recommend to those wanting to spend quality time exploring New Orleans. We marked "do not know" on family friendly simply because of the tight space. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed at this park for almost two weeks. Good things about this park are the very helpful owners and the offered shuttle service. Also, despite the fact that it's not located in a nice area, I never felt insecure at this park. The machines in the laundry are working OK and the bathrooms' condition is also OK. In general, it's rather clean. I didn't use the pool and hot tub. I only saw people using it - since they had smiles on their faces, I suppose it can't be that bad. Wi-Fi worked very well most of the time. Negative: The park is not what you call beautiful and indeed a little small so when the park is full you're a bit crammed like sardines. The trains are really noisy and I'm not sure if they have anything like "quiet hours" (in an older review someone suggested they may stop at 11 pm). At the time I've been there, there was a very noticeable smell of propane coming from the neighboring property. As mentioned before the restrooms were in good condition but at that time were cleaned irregularly and not daily. I still give this park seven points because the price/value ratio is absolutely OK. I'd definitely stay here again and it's a good alternative to the maybe fancier but more expensive RV parks in NOLA. Yes, there are a lot of cats (around ten) but those are not stray cats; they are all well kept and if you don't like cats, you can still just stay out of their way. They'll most likely stay out of yours unless you leave your trash in front of your rig. Price reflects the weekly rate including tax. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

This is a small park and the sites are very close together. There is a railroad switching/siding behind the park which can occasionally be loud. There are lots of cats running loose. The owners are friendly and helpful. It is conveniently close to the attractions in downtown. Rate reflected is weekly. If your dogs need space to run, there is a large lot next door behind a union hall that is fenced on 3 sides. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We chose this park because of recommendation and proximity to where we worked with the St. Bernard Project in New Orleans. The park has easy access from I-10. It is gated for some additional security. The spaces are very close together and all of the spaces are back-in, but the park owner helps all big rigs get parked and they are very good at guiding anyone into a space. Park management is very helpful with questions about the New Orleans area. Cable TV worked very well with an extensive channel selection. Wi-Fi was slow at times, but generally good. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. The laundry is well maintained. The pool and spa are well maintained. We stayed 11 nights and the daily rate ($26.79) included a 10% AAA or Good Sam discount and added taxes. The park is adjacent to the CSX rail switching yard, but the noise from the trains is very negligible. We will stay here again on our next trip to New Orleans. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were greeted by extremely pleasant staff who were anxious to ensure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They provided handouts and info geared to enhance our specific plans. Washrooms were very, very clean. We were safe and secure and within 10 minutes of French Quarter. The owners take real pride in maintaining the facilities. We enjoyed the pool and adjacent gazebo as well as hot tub. We intended to stay 1 night but felt very "at home" here and decided to stay 3 nights. We would highly recommend this RV park. One of my 1st impressions was wow! The check in process went super fast. The entrance was a bit on the tight side. The salt water pool was cool, fresh and clean. The hot tub was hot and in good operational order. The fencing around the campground leads one to have an overall safe feeling. One huge positive or negative is the abundance of cats in the campground. I counted at least 8-10 of them. Most are friendly but they do leave their droppings behind in odd places. The owners go out of their way to be of assistance for you. The camper next door forgot his water hose and they came right out with one. The shuttle to the French Quarter was fast and efficient. The cost to go there and back was $5 each way. We gave them a call and they were right back to pick us up. This campground has a picnic table at every site. However, there are no fire rings. They have this gazebo near the pool that is great for just sitting around and talking with others. Most all sites were very level. The electricity, water and sewer worked fine. The Wi-Fi worked magnificently and I never lost a signal. The cable TV worked according to others. We did not use it. Insects were not a problem here at all. There are not too many trees here. There are several fruit trees and a small garden near the dumpster. There were security lights at night although they are not really needed. There is a small restaurant just a block away. I was told they have decent food. The bus runs right by the campground. The city noise did not brother us too much. The only 2 reasons I would not give this place a 10 is the cats (droppings) and the need for more shade trees. Lastly, I would stay here all over again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate based on one month stay. Great Find. Owners are friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable with itineraries and bus routes. Bus stops right in front or I just took their shuttle to French Market for $5.00 (each way). Clean bathroom and shower facilities, nice pool and hot tub for relaxing. Everything is included in price. Wi-Fi, full hook-up and cable… really nice place. Also, they threw a complimentary crawfish boil on Easter. Nice touch for being away during holiday. Like a second family! Owners go beyond the extra mile. Will return next time I'm in New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very noisy urban campground. Front half gets road noise from busy highway, back half gets train noise from multi-track switching station. Tight grass and gravel sites but owner helps you park. Not a great neighborhood but gated at night and we felt comfortable. Best feature is the small but deep swimming pool and very nice hot tub. Easy 12 minute drive to the French Quarter, or you can take public transportation and/or the park's shuttle. Excellent value for the location. We would definitely return. Our rate was based on a two week stay. This is a very convenient park to New Orleans and the French Quarter. You can take the bus right across the street. While the neighborhood looks a little sketchy, the park is clean, secure and run by two of the most accommodating people you'll ever meet. They even had a crayfish boil for all of us to celebrate Easter Sunday! Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners were very helpful during our stay. All of the sites are back in. The road is gravel and some of the sites seemed small, but they were more than willing to accommodate us and help. The campground is kept up and clean, it is gated and I felt secure staying here. It takes no time at all to get the the French Quarters. VERY reasonable price for New Orleans camping. We enjoyed our 5-night stay. The owners, Marla and Kevin, are very friendly, knowledgeable, and like the rest of New Orleans, laid-back. The grounds and pool/gazebo area are nicely tended, landscaped. They will drive you to the French Quarter for $5 each, each way. Which is good, because major taxi companies will not pick up from that address. Yes, it is in a marginal area of East New Orleans. The park is gated after dark, and we never had any reason to feel unsafe. It was a very comfortable, homey kind of place. If you want to see New Orleans, it will give you a very hospitable place to stay without paying an arm and a leg. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is an amazing value. In a town where I was very put off by what seemed to be lack of cleanliness at "budget" hotels, which even at that, cost $80 a night; for $18 a night I had my own private place, with my own sheets and towels, so I knew they were clean. I also liked how this park is locked and secure, unlike some seedy-looking places I could have stayed. There are trees and flowers everywhere. It's really lovely, and even has plants in the dog walk area. The owners are on-site every day and clean the showers, bathrooms, and laundry impeccably. I also liked how it was possible for me to see all of New Orleans from this park without renting a car. I caught the bus across the street and came back to right in front of the park. There is a great New Orleans-style fish and BBQ eat-in, take-out place next door that is just addicting, too. If you are on a budget, or even if you're not, you will do well to choose Jude Travel Park. I would not stay anywhere else in NOLA now that I have found it. We camped here in a Tent.

This park is just what it says, "an oasis in the city". Lovely flowers, clean restrooms, clean pool and spa, new picnic benches and good security. We were concerned about the neighborhood but after meeting the very nice owners (who came outside to greet us), all our fears were gone. They were extremely helpful in directing us to some fun things to do, even helped us find a good vet. We are staying here again next year! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an adequate place to park when visiting New Orleans. I would have rated it higher if the restrooms and showers had been clean The same litter on the floors was there for the three days we stayed. The host and hostess are extremely friendly and helpful, however. Sites are quite close together and it's located just next to a railroad yard, but it's quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The rate we paid was higher than usual, since we stayed here during the weekend prior to Mardi Gras. I'd stay again, due to the convenience in driving to the French Quarter and Uptown areas. The spaces are close but I wasn't here for the park. I was here to enjoy New Orleans and surrounding area. New Orleans is 10 minutes, white sandy beaches are 50 minutes away. Great little place close to downtown. Train switch yard at the rear but not noisy and reminiscent of an earlier time in New Orleans history. Very friendly owners. I will stay here again when passing through in our travels. They gave 10% military discount too. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Spaces are tight, as is maneuvering in this park. Front of park is transient and back is permanents. This park is over run with cats. Leash rule is not enforced for dogs, including the owners dog. We walked out our door one day to find a fresh dog pile at the bottom of our steps. Laundry needs a good cleaning as do the showers. Soap that was left in the shower prior to my using it the first time was still there when we left a week later. Security gate required because of the neighborhood it is in. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great older city campground with new amenities: bathrooms, showers, pool, and spa. The owners are terrific, always available during normal hours and offer a very, very reasonably priced shuttle service to downtown or the French Quarter. The city bus stops right outside the gates and the rate for that is unbelievably cheap but use after dark is not advised. Yes, there is some noise. The noise from traffic from the street is not noticeable but there is a railroad yard in the back where trains are made up in the evenings. I have ear plugs for "bad" situations and didn't find them necessary for sleep at all. It feels very safe and we were quite comfortable and pleased with our experience here. We positively would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Yes, it is noisy because of trains unloading right there but I felt safe there. Traveling as a single girl it was ok. I stayed 2 weeks. Now anywhere outside the gate is another story. I did take the bus 2 times and it wasn't very comfortable feeling. 16$ cab ride to downtown. The bathrooms very nice, owners very nice to. I would stay again. Probably the noisiest RV park I have ever stayed in in 350,000 miles of RV travel. Trains in back, boulevard in front. The Wednesday night motorcycle races were particularly noisy. I don't know why the local cops let it go on for over 3 hours, but it was NOISY! We camped here in a Motorhome.

The owners are friendly and helpful. The park is clean and well kept with excellent laundry facilities. We visited the area for several days and had the opportunity to compare this park to others. This park is gated and well lit, we felt safe, although we would not walk the neighborhood after dark. There is a convenient bus stop in front of the park. The proprietors of this park made our stay very enjoyable: helped us in every way that they could. The campground is on the bus route into downtown New Orleans.The rates are very reasonable, especially for the level of services. The bathrooms were newly renovated and very clean. We stayed longer than we thought due to needed mechanical repairs on our motorhome: stayed in one of the two guest rooms for the night that our RV was in the garage. The guest rooms are very tastefully, newly renovated with queen bed, TV, internet, fridge and microwave. They are very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to see New Orleans. It may be a bit further from town but it's not really a problem. The great services, prices and lovely staff make this the place to stay when you come to New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

OK, so the neighborhood is "not great" but why are you coming to/through New Orleans anyway? Best go back to Orlando or Anaheim Hills if you require quaint and immaculate landscaping. The restrooms are new and clean, there is coin laundry, wifi works great, and so does the cable. Yes, there is a pool, but not heated. The park is really just a 5 acre lot behind an older home/office, gated, with RV sites lined up along both fences and a gravel drive down the middle. It is clean' the people are nice, and it's 10 minutes by car to the Vieux Carre, and that's what you come here for, no? We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Recently stayed at Jude Travel Park and found new owners cleaning and repairing the site. Many upgrades have been made. Sites are clean and neat. Pool is crystal clear and inviting. Bathhouses are very modern and super clean. Wifi access worked well. All utilities were available. Security gate surrounds the site and is well-lit. Found new owners to be very friendly, accommodating, and a wealth of information on touring the City. Overall a great experience and a great place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Because of business in New Orleans, we stayed here for two weeks. The area of town is not a good one, although there is a Winn-Dixie within a couple of miles. However, the gate and fence gave a good amount of security. There were no seedy looking people or units within the park. Office was usually locked and staff isn't always available. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Better parks could be had for a lot higher price. For the price in this city, it was adequate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We called to make a reservation here after seeing their ad in Trailer life. Once we arrived there, my wife was afraid to stay. It was in a dangerous part of town, and had to be surrounded with a high fence. We intended to be coming and going at night, so we decided not to stay at all. We were unable to actually report on the inside conitions at all. There were lots of FEMA trailers in the area, and it certainly did not appear to be safe. We went west about 25 miles to camp in a traditional campground in LaPlace and drove in via I-10. We camped here in a Motorhome.

All four of the New Orleans parks are located in a "not great" neighborhood on the very busy Chef Hwy and back up to Railroad tracks. Makes for very noisy spots. We chose this one because they offered WIFI. It was not working except every now and then. The owners were not helpful except the day that a "reviewer" from a guide book was there. Then they could not do enough to help out. Place is for sale so that probably contributes to the attitude. We looked at the other 3 parks and the Parc D'Orleans appeared to be marginally better. The state park was booked so we could not stay there as previous reviewers of New Orleans parks have suggested. We also suggest that you drive to the French Quarter. We did the bus deal one day and it is a real hassle. There are plenty of parking lots in the Quarter. Costs about $18 per day, but more than worth it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is not in a good area. There is a gate that closes at night and we felt reasonably safe in the park. The parking lot of the on site convenience store is full of 'Ladies of the evening' up to mid morning. There is nothing to do in the park itself but I guess that's not what you go to New Orleans for. Rate was for a monthly rate while we were in the area working. It is close to the Interstate for access. Depending on traffic the French Quarter is 15 minutes away. Construction on the nearby drawbridge makes access tricky depending on the direction you come in from. The manager of the park knows nothing about the RV lifestyle. I was dumping the holding tank before we left and he said 'So that's how you dump the tanks'. Not bad really for a few days of sightseeing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here once before during the first Jazz Fest after Katrina, so were anxious to see any improvements and to save some money. Not a big change other than it is cleaned up, the motel is repainted, a security gate is installed and there is a new office outside the gate. They list sites at $20 per night on their web page. We were charged $30. Our neighbor paid $20 and they had no reservation either. Print out web page and take it with you to get the $20/night rate. Couldn't get a refund. Now they rent out about 20 former FEMA trailers. Had a loose pit bull which campground owner said had broken its chain, so he is aware of what goes on. The campground rules say that dogs are not to be chained outside unattended, just like any other campground. One of our dogs is blind and my wife was very intimidated. There are several dogs chained outside. Will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The majority of the sites are fair. This is a older park, but in a better neighborhood than the nearby RV Resort that you pay big bucks for. The pool has been filled in, so no more swimming pool. The electric was good as we have 4 roof a/c units that never tripped the breaker. Not much for shade trees - a few trees, but not much. Many local workers live here. All in all pretty quiet. Yes you can hear some of the I-10 road noise, but not as bad as the nearby RV Resort! Remember, you get what you pay for. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I disagree with the previous comments and didn't consider staying here last year b/c of those comments. I have stayed here 2 weeks and except for the fact that the swimming pool does not work, this park is typical of RV parks in the moderate price range. The park is secure with an electric gate that's closed during the night, has easy access on and off I-10, and is only a few miles from the French Quarter, unlike the KOA which can take you more than 30 minutes to get to the Quarter depending on traffic. I definitely will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is the worst RV park I have been in 10 months of full time RVing.I just came in for Jazz Fest on 4/24/09. The pictures looked OK and the price was the lowest in town. That should have told me something. Not a single RV was in the park for Jazz Fest week. It was a dump and is in a very bad part of town. I did not stay one night but the manager charged me for two nights. I will have to dispute my credit card charges. Wi-fi is $5/day. What a rip-off. I moved to the Pontchartrain Landing RV park. More expensive but worth the money. We did not stay at this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

After leaving another in town park, we drove to this park on the same street, about 2 miles away, and were disappointed to see that the area itself was not good. My wife was afraid to stay, and as we would be driving back and forth to the French Quarter at night and she felt unsafe. I did not actually stay here and keep that in mind when making your decision. This place isn't half as bad as some might make it out to be. We've been here 7 nights and plan to stay 5 more. At this time most of the park is filled with FEMA trailers. There are only a half dozen or so RV sites. Maintanence is good and there is a locked gate at night (accessible by a key card). FEMA residents of the park have been friendly as has been management. Understand that there are thousands and thousands of FEMA trailers all over the city; they aren't just for undesirables, but rather for people who are stuck with no place to live as a result of the massive undertaking to rebuild this city. You'll see FEMA trailers on the front lawns of houses costing in excess of $500K pre-Katrina. There's a new Winn-Dixie supermarket just down the street along with plenty of national fast food restaurants and you can drive to the French Quarter in less than 10 minutes. WiFi costs an additional $15 per week, but worked well for us. The only complaint I might have is that they should make WiFi available on a daily basis for those who are only in for a couple of days. It's worth noting that we are here during Jazzfest 2006 and the rates are slightly higher. We are paying $45/night and are are glad to do so. As all others have commented - MG RV Park is no Yosemite NP in terms of scenery. Hello...we're in a City. We came here knowing that this was a post-Katrina RV Park in NOLA. In terms of ambience we were expecting that environment and that what we have. Hurricane torn and beat up. The neighborhood is trashed and empty. No businesses are open within a few miles. It took us an hour to find a grocery store when we got here. Scenery? You want Yosemite - drive to Yosemite. You want 'Nawlins? this joint ain't bad. We're ten minutes from the French Quarter. Yes the place is managed by an ornery gent. Once you break through his outer crust you'll find your host to be loveable. Yes the owner of the Park is from India, so what? He and his family are quite pleasant and have taken a chance and invested in the American dream. Oh yeah, he's trying to pay off his loan to the American bank that lent him the money to buy the place at pre-Katrina prices. I don't see why people complain that they charge to dump your ****. Don't like it, make your way to a Flying J. Water works, laundry facilities work, internet works (as I'm posting this from my site in the Park), and the sewer works. TV rececption is not bad. What else do I need to sleep during the day and take in the best music in the World in downtown NOLA at night? We've been out listening to the greatest music going til five every night for the past week! I think people need to chill and put themselves in others shoes before trashing a place online. We're quite safe and sound here in Mardis Gras RV Park. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We drove in, and drove out! Simply placing this review to avoid anyone else falling into this trap! The park is right off the 10 in the GHETTO! A gang was hanging out in front of the open "security gate", drinking beer and smoking pot when we arrived. Razor wire is on the fence if that tells you anything! I saw more police cars than automobiles coming into the area. In short, do yourself a favor and stay at the New Orleans East or West KOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A Passport America campground. This park is an in town campground and not in the best area. Once inside the security gate it is a typical private campgroung. Some of the sites are tight to get into. Half the park is paved, the rest is grass and gravel. Rather noisy being near an interstate highway, train tracks and next to a truck depot. They do offer guided bus tours from the front gate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed in this campground in 2004. It is in a really crime ridden part of town. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. After Hurricane Katrina, I was doing disaster relief through the church about 3 miles from this campground and had been staying on the church's property in my RV. I needed to dump my black tanks before the drive home, and I remembered this campground. I went to it, and the campground was in shambles. The office was closed and the power wasn't on in that part of town but the water and sewage worked. I pulled into the campground (which was empty of RVs) and this East Indian guy ran up to me and told me that he was the owner. I explained that I needed to dump my tanks for the ride home after doing relief work in his community. He informed me that I would need to pay $15 to dump my tanks. I guess he felt it necessary to profit from hardship. I left without dumping the tanks and went to another campground where the owner let me dump the tanks free of charge. I will never stay in Mardi Gras Campground again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Was concerned about the area of town the New Orleans West KOA was located in, however, it turned out to not be an issue at all. Felt very safe walking over to,the levee and around town a bit. Fairly level spaces. Tight backing in. Our major complaint was that we were not able to be next to our cousins whom we were traveling with. First was told it needed to be noted in the note area of reservation, was able to,show that it was listed that we were traveling together, the story changed that we needed to state specifically we wanted to placed together. Other than this inconvenience, we would stay here again but be more specific if traveling with others We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I can't say enough about the friendly helpful owners of this park; they go the extra mile. This isn't the typical KOA though; there are many long term campers, and what appear to be rental homes on the property. The road that brings you to the rear sites is horrible, uneven with large potholes; no easy way to get around them. There are sites near the pool that appear to be a bit close together. A little shabby, but very clean with 24 hour staffing. Laundry is large and reasonably priced. The neighborhood isn't too bad compared to others in NOLA. There is a paved recreational path on the levee across the street, though access is up a steep incline. Wi-Fi is fairly slow and spotty. We didn't use the shuttle but it seemed to be full every day. The pool was due to be open in April. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Be careful using your GPS to navigate here. They tend to take you some very obscure and long ways to the park. Ask the staff for directions before venturing here. This is one the most different KOAs I have ever been to. I suspect it was a privately branded park and then bought a KOA franchise. There are no pull-throughs, very little maneuverability within the park, no play areas or amenities you would expect at a KOA. The staff was VERY friendly and eager to help. Although my back-in space was next to a telephone pole and a rig was parked in the drive in front of the space, two staff members said "trust us" and proceeded to get me backed into the space without hitting anything. What I didn't like about the location was that it's easily 20-30 minutes or more from the French Qtr. As I drove into NOLA, I spotted another RV Park and checked it out. The long and short of it was I would have much preferred to stay there rather than the KOA. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park was OK. It seemed to be in a bad area, but we never felt unsafe. The concrete pad was nice. Some have shade; others do not. Ours did not so it was a little hot, but level. Wish they had grills and or fire pit. Plently of room between sites. Kind of strange having houses inside the park, but I guess they rent those. Staff reall friendly! We did not let them take us to town because we felt we did not want to stay that long. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park is located on the west side of New Orleans. The people at the park are wonderful. Right from the start they were helpful and even booked our tours for us. They had lots of suggestions and recommendations. The park is all back-ins but they have plenty of room to maneuver. They also guide you to the spot and do a great job of spotting for you to back-in. The spaces are long and wide. They have a shuttle to the French Quarter and as previously mentioned do a great tour themselves when taking you in and out. We had a great time in New Orleans and staying at this park helped make it a great time. We will be back when in this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is a distance from downtown New Orleans and is not easy to get to. Takes 20-25 minutes to town. Sites are wide enough, but are all back-in and were shorter than normal. Park appears to be an older park shaped like a horseshoe. We were placed on the back side and appreciated the help backing in. The reason for the 7 instead of 8 was the potholes. Some were over a foot deep. Staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't use the shuttle and chose to drive downtown. Parking is very expensive near the French Quarter. We would probably stay here again, unless something closer was available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were very pleased with this KOA. The park was well maintained, spacious sites, level cement pads, quiet neighbors, fast Wi-Fi and reasonable rates. All staff members were very friendly and offered good suggestions for restaurants, etc. They offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the French Quarter with commentary along the way. The roads in the park are in dire need of repair and most individual pads are cracked and uneven. The park is surrounded by run-down neighborhoods. However, the managers are very friendly and quite helpful. The free shuttle to downtown New Orleans is a great benefit. We paid $42 per night with the KOA membership discount. We arrived here very late at night, with reservations made from the road, and were greeted at the office by the manager. He was friendly, helpful, and had us in our site right away, and we were made to feel very welcome. The pool was very clean, the staff was so very welcoming to our 4 doggies who travel with us everywhere, and the shuttle was great! Everyone made us so glad that we had chosen the KOA they manage, as they were helpful in answering all our questions, and when we extended our stay by two days, they were awesome! The staff is suburb and the office is friendly. It is in an area of town that feels safe and it is clean. We enjoyed our stay and if we are in NOLA again, we will certainly stay here! The prior ratings seem to be all over the place. We took a chance and stayed here primarily because of the free shuttle service to the French Quarter. As KOA's go, this was pretty good. It is located right within a neighborhood and (excluding the occasional train & jet) was quiet (the trains seem to stop after 11pm). You can ride your bike 1/2 mile to the levee and ride an excellent bike path along the Mississippi River. Our site was level and shaded from the afternoon sun. The electric was fine, as was the cable and wi-fi. They also allowed you to wash the rig! The road, at one point, was a little rough but no problem - we've seen worse on state routes. The shuttle was excellent with a little tour on the way to the French Quarter. It left at 9am (be certain to get on the list in the office asap as it does fill during peak times) and picked us up at 5:45 pm. Yes, it's a long day but we sat in several parks and listened to live music and had a cool drink top pass the time. We would return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Planes, trains and automobiles, it's not very quiet. Typical KOA, tight lots but level and clean. It is downtown, so handy for site-seeing. It seems as though all KOA parks have sites close together and narrow roads. Although, we've only been to 2, one in N. Little Rock and one in New Orleans, which is actually River Ridge, outskirts of Kenner, LA. The one in N.L.R. was much nicer than the one in Kenner and felt safer; it wasn't in a neighborhood; it is right off the interstate. At River Ridge, the park is in a horseshoe shape as another viewer said and would be more feasible driving if you could go out the other gate facing Jefferson Hwy, but I guess for security reasons, they keep it locked although the other stays open all the time, so I don't see the point. There are houses on both sides of the metal fence and all around the park. The ending road to the locked gate (sites 68 to 91) is in very bad shape and narrow. There's only one way to go, then you have to struggle to back into a very unlevel site and hope you can find a place to park your truck where no one will hit it pulling in and out. The water hookup is far from the site towards back of camper. All hookups worked fine for us; but our relatives next to us could not use their 30 amp hookup due to the park; instead, luckily they had one, they had to use their 50 amp. Good thing ours worked because we did not have that capability. The best sites are the row in front of the office. They save those for big coaches and rigs, although still tight to get in and out. The pool looked OK but not great. The water was not as crystal clear as I've seen at other parks. Staff is very friendly; they do help you get in and out of your site, thank God! We had gone for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Treasure Chest Casino is a straight shot back up Williams Blvd. pass I-10 to the end of Williams. They also have a Cafe du Monde on Williams after you pass under the overpass of I-10 coming from Jefferson Hwy. Nice little St. Matthews Catholic Church on Jefferson not far from the park. I don't know if we'll be back to this park unless we can get a front row site. Still had a good time. Weather was great! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park is located in a quaint New Orleans neighborhood, which makes it quiet. A good place to ride bicycles across the street along the levee. We were about 12 miles from the French Quarter but they provide free shuttle service. We did not use it because we wanted freedom to return whenever we wanted. There was plenty of parking in the Quarter so we had no problems. The park has 2 streets, and one of them is full of potholes, luckily we were parked on the smooth one. We probably will not go there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Narrow roadway and trees can make backing in a "big rig" a little bit of an adventure but patience wins out. Staff are very helpful and the shuttle service to downtown New Orleans is a guided tour on its own. We agree with another reviewer's comments about following the campground's directions I-10 exit 223 and Williams Blvd ... there is an easy left turn off Jefferson Avenue into the campground. The park is actually in River Ridge, LA. A very nice park overall. Very quiet with only occasional train whistles and rare airport jet noise but not bothersome to us. Friendly and helpful staff. Well stocked store with a variety of items. Good selection of sightseeing brochures and information from the staff. Free shuttle to French Quarter but we did not use. Excellent scenic drive recommendations to FQ: which we did use. Typical LA: hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms. The electricity (30A for us) was very reliable with no outages. Water, sewer, cable TV, all good and dependable. Several WiFi repeaters with typical fair performance but we used our Sprint broadband "card" most of the time and received max signal strength. Pool looked clean but did not use. We did not use laundry but other folks did. The one entrance / exit (2nd one had a locked gate) is best approached and signs are better seen ahead coming from the west (park is on the north side of Jefferson Hwy). It's doable from the east but KOA signs not as easily seen and a wide turn into the entrance might be required. We concur with the KOA website driving recommendation that if coming from I-10, use exit 223 and head south on Williams Blvd. A minor detractor is that most sites are not level so a little extra leveling effort might be required. Some sites have concrete that is broken but we did not see any RVs at those sites for the 9 days we stayed, so perhaps those sites are not actively used. The asphalt road is a bit busted up in a couple of sections but still passable. We will come here again, and already plan to. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent campground, close to the city. Everything is well kept and clean. Sites are back-in but are easily accessed. Staff is available to help guide you in. The camp maintains some foodstuffs and supplies. Some cable TV channels were poor but Wi-Fi was excellent. It has several showers and large rest rooms. Several shuttle vehicles ferry guests to the French Quarter and run well after dark. The park is built in a large U-shape. Streets and sites are paved. The curved part of the U has sunk and has been repaired many times. It is very bumpy to go over it and the rig driver should "crawl" through it to make sure glassware stays intact. We have stayed here several times and will do so again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spent two nights here and it is our first KOA experience. If they were all like this, we would be very happy campers. They told us when we called that GPS directions will take you down some brutal roads, but their route was a kidney-pounder too. That appears to be an area-wide problem so be prepared. Staff is very friendly and helpful: a pleasure to deal with. We didn't use the amenities because we were sightseeing around New Orleans most of the time, but they all appeared to be in good shape. There is a lot of maintenance and upkeep going on: from new slabs to adding fill to low spots. All sites are back-in, but ours was level and wide with full hookups. Wi-Fi has been quick and reliable. Park is fairly quiet, but you do hear the occasional jet traffic taking off from the international airport, and train horns just north of the property but nothing too disruptive. Overall, the park is not perfect, but much better than many, so we would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great for a short, sightseeing visit to New Orleans but the noisiest place we have ever stayed. Train whistles, planes, traffic, leaf-blowers; and of course the Xmas and New Year's fireworks which went on all night. We never slept more than a few hours at night. There was a lot of rain while we were there and much flooding in the grounds. Also the power fluctuated quite a bit and we could often smell sewage outside. The "dog walk" is about a 25 ft strip by a fence with a small garbage can and waste picker-upper, but luckily the tenting areas were empty so we walked our dog around there. On the positive side, the daily shuttle into the French Quarter was great and the staff offered dog-walking services which was really helpful. The staff were very kind and helpful and we were sorry to say goodbye to them; but not to the park. We would not stay here again except for an emergency overnight and only with ear plugs! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is about 30 minutes away from the French Quarter, but the park has a deal going with one of the local taxi companies charging a flat rate to the city. Would stay here again. Park is in River Ridge, about a half-hour drive to the French Quarter. They have a free shuttle but only twice a day - 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. So that only works if you plan to stay all day. Otherwise, it's a hefty cab fare or taking public transportation which involves two changes. Parking in the French Quarter is $15. Nicely kept-up park. Not your usual KOA, but adequate. No pull-throughs but the park personnel helped us back in our large fifth wheel. We were on the front row -- I don't think we would have been able to maneuver around the turn to the back row. Pool was well-kept and I really appreciated that the personnel enforced the "no children under 14 in the pool without adult supervision" rule. Pool was never crowded. My only complaint about the pool was the loose handrail on the steps - it scared me the first time but after that I knew to watch out for it. Our site was level, well-drained and shady. Concrete on the front row looks relatively new but I saw some not-so-good pads on the back row. Bathrooms and (private)showers were immaculate. Nice laundry room (washers and dryers $1.75). Some noise from the trains and nearby airport, but not excessive. Park was otherwise quiet at night. If you like riding bikes, there is a wonderful path along the top of the levee which goes for miles and miles. Nice little shaded playground for the kiddies. Wi-Fi a little weak -- sometimes it took several tries to get on. I had read complaints about the electricity strength, but everything worked fine for us. I think the price was maybe a little high for a small KOA like this, but I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

As KOAs go this is a small one. The owners are friendly and there is fantastic security 24/7. We rode our bikes and walked about at ease. Everything was well kept... the pool was small but clean, amenities at a minimum. No drinking or eating in the pool area so forget about a nice cocktail in there. Really my only complaint is the name... insinuating that this park is IN New Orleans is a real stretch. It's about 1/2 hour drive ... freeway is the fastest but watch out for work-day traffic, accidents and jams which will greatly extend your travel time into the tourist district. We tried to side street route and that wasn't any better but a lot more scenic. I'm not sure I would recommend this campground. The price charged $43 was not comparable to others we've stayed in. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed 5 nights, weekend rate is 13$ more than shown. Rate is with KOA 10% value Kard discount. This was a good campground, the roads are OK and we had a new concrete pad. It is true that some of the concrete pads are cracked but this is New Orleans and there is no bedrock here, so subsidence is part of life. We had plenty of space. We took the free shuttle into town; you do have to put your name down the day before as there is only one trip each way. We also enjoyed riding our bicycles along the Mississippi River levee nearby. Nice air conditioned laundry with good book exchange too. Friendly helpful staff; we had a great time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is like 187 years old. The concrete pads and asphalt roads are torn up and upheaved by the big trees. The utilities are above ground criss crossing the park. We had a difficult time backing in our 33' fifth wheel since the street was so narrow and lined with parked cars. The staff was great, the facilities are nice, and the location in nice. KOA Corporate needs to level this park and rebuild it from the ground up. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We checked in and were given the welcome information as well as a packet of information on what to do and see while in New Orleans. We arrived in time for the shuttle downtown and were given a wonderful overview on our way into downtown. The driver/owner was very knowledgeable about the area as well as the history and other points of interest. We have taken other "tours" and received far less information if any at all. This campground was very clean and the management and staff were very helpful and friendly. We are workampers and know the importance of hospitality and cleanliness in a campground. Called ahead as we were not sure if we would arrive before the office closed, and were told that is not a problem as staff lives on site and to just call them and they would come over. Good instructions on web-site, arrived before office closed, given information hand-outs, escorted to site, concrete pad, nice layout of hook-ups, 3 miles East to Winn-Dixie (grocery), all in all a good location. Site 88 is on rough interior road, but otherwise interior roads are good. Staff is helpful, and looking forward to a few days of seeing New Orleans using their shuttle and tour reservation system. We stayed at this park based on previous reviews which had comments about their free shuttle into New Orleans. When we called to make the reservation, we asked them if the shuttle was running the next day and the staff told us 'yes'. We got there at 7:30 PM and again asked about the shuttle and was told I had to sign up so I did. The shuttle driver was there listening, and told us that it was full. The staff person argued with him and said there were still two spots left,(thankfully she was right). You would hope that they would be thoughtful enough to let me know when I made the reservation that I needed to sign up for the shuttle in advance (apparently, if it is full - too bad for you!). The shuttle leaves the park at 9 AM. We were there early, and watched a couple who showed up for it (but obviously wasn't told they had to sign up) get turned away. Fortunately for them, there were some no-shows. So make sure when you call for reservations that you sign up for the shuttle, and then make sure your name is on the list when you get there! The park is nothing special - very close quarters, but we were there to go into downtown so we didn't care. Although the staff was very friendly and we were given history on the area on the shuttle drive in, they didn't impress us with their customer service (or lack thereof). This campground is about 10 minutes off I-10, and around 15 minutes from the French Quarter. People in the office are very nice and helpful. The concrete pads are wide and level, some have stove warmers to take the chill off at night and tables and chairs for around the heaters plus picnic tables. Bathhouse is clean and well maintained, laundry is very nice: we used both facilities. Wi-Fi worked well. We would stay here again when in the area. We stayed in site 55 across from the office and across from the pool that was still open. The laundry was directly behind our site: very convenient. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Concerned for neighborhoods in the W. New Orleans area, we reluctantly decided to stay at the New Orleans West KOA. Much to our pleasure, it was located in a nice area. We were pleased with this RV Park. The family who runs it goes out of their way to welcome their guests. It's clean and comfortable. They add an unusual feature that made our stay great...they take guests to the French Quarter twice daily for no charge. The best part is they drive you in their van through an interesting route in areas we'd never have seen otherwise, and make the ride enjoyable by sharing tidbits along the way. The office/store is worth a shopping trip. We'd stay at New Orleans West KOA again with pleasure. Don't hesitate to stay at this fine RV Park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is an older park and like all of New Orleans needs some repairs, but over all the condition is good. The concrete pads are large but over the years has settled and are not level any more. If you are going to the French Quarter it is about a 15 mile trip. The staff was friendly and eager to assist you in any way they could. A young man that was assisting us in backing in nearly got us hit by a pickup truck that was coming by and he got us on the wrong site, but we didn't have to move, they just changed out sites. Just was a close call. There were a lot of campers coming and going during our 3 day stay, this is a very busy campground. If using a GPS or Map Quest you will be taken through some back narrow streets which is not necessary, just get off I-10 at Williams Blvd & go south to Jefferson Ave. We would stay at this park again. We spent 4 nights here will visiting New Orleans. This is the best campground in the area for visiting the French Quarter. The campground will provide a shuttle in the AM and pick you up in the PM. You can also take the bus which will pick you up across the street from the campground or take the trolley. The sites are level, and close together, but do not hamper slides or awnings and there are no side by side hookups. Cable TV and Wi-Fi worked great. There is minimal room for dog walking, but crossing the street and a short walk will let you walk them on the levee. There is some noise from a train several blocks over and the airport, but that did not bother our sleep or stay. There is a lady who provides a dog walking service if you plan on being gone all day and she also makes some wonderful tamales. We will definitely stay here again if in New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here four nights. It was about a 30 minute drive to the French Quarter. The staff gave great tips on what to see, restaurants, and directions to get there. The campground provided a free shuttle to the French Quarter. It was worth taking one time just for the drivers wonderful narration of the sights along the way and a residents view of Katrina. The shuttle left the campground at 9:00 AM and returned to pick you up at 5:45. The sites were cement and some had patio furniture and swings. Although they lost some trees during Katrina there was lots of shade. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Most sites here are super large and wide, but the side section where we were had very tiny sites crammed together with no cable TV (our site didn't even have a picnic table). Considering this, the nightly rate was really excessive for these little sites (even if it was Mardi Gras). A parking lot-type of campground in a residential area west of New Orleans. The bathrooms were warm and were kept very clean. Each shower is in its own little individual room, very nice. The store stocks souvenirs, ice, RV supplies and groceries. The owners and employees were all very accommodating. Best of all is the free shuttle, which you can take into the French Quarter at 9 a.m. and back at 5:45 p.m. It's as good as a guided tour. There's also a bus stop across the street, with the bus connecting to the Carrollton streetcar. We had a lot of rain, so there were some big puddles and soggy grassy areas. The Wi-Fi was good. It's close to the airport and there was some road and train noise, so don't plan on sleeping too late. Our rate was with a KOA discount for 3 people, during a Pre-Mardi Gras weekend, so it seemed fair. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Stayed on site 59 with a 34 foot trailer. Barely was able to park TT and TV there. Sites are short but wide enough. If it rains then there are a number of sites that are under water plus the road floods badly. They come out with sump pumps and hoses to pump out the water. Staff was very helpful. Their van broke down so we drove down town. New Orleans is fantastic. There's other tours beside Gray Lines, so look around. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I stayed a total of 6 days in July enroute to and from Florida and found the park to be very nice. The owner gave me several sugestions of things to see like the WWII museum and had a great time. We stayed there for the Sugar Bowl and were charged $46 per night and with tax it was
over$50 per night so if you like inexpensive campgrounds this is not one. If you are in one of the sites like we were in right across from the office look out so as not to get electrocuted when you back into your site because the utility lines are really low hanging although the sites on the second road didn't have that problem. Also this park is just about exactly 12 miles from downtown so it is not in New Orleans it is in Kenner. I would not suggest the city bus service either. If you are just passing through and need a quick overnight there is a Wal-Mart about 5 miles closer to town on the same road as the campground which is Jefferson Highway and the store is right before you go across the Huey P. Long bridge. That would be a cheaper option for a quick overnight but as with anything in this city you have to be conscious of your safety because New Orleans is not I repeat not a safe or clean city and I did feel a little safer in the campground. The wireless internet access costs about $8 per day and you would think at the rates we were charged to stay there that internet would be included. I will say that the campground was quiet at night and that the staff was friendly and that the main reasons I am rating this campground so low is the fact thatI feel it was extremely overpriced for the services received and that it was not highly convenient to downtown as I had though it would be. Next time I will try the state park which is about the same distance from town but is only $12 per night. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The trees, concrete slabs, and grass are nice. Not a bad place for overnighters. However, we have been here for nearly two months and have been stolen from twice now. The first time about a month ago. A $3,000 piece of equipment was taken from under our 5th wheel. It was in a black case and looked like nothing special. That same night five bicycles were stolen from within the park. A few weeks later more bikes were stolen. Three nights ago our truck was broken into and a $50 inverter was taken. That same night our neighbor, three sites down had his truck broken into also. We thought our truck was locked and our neighbor said he knew for a fact his was locked. The thieves evidentally have a tool of some sort to get in. This park has a tall fence all the way around it, but on the back side of the fence there are 2x4s running lengthwise and the theives are climbing over the fence and then going out the front gate. Some campers have actually seen this happen. The owner just shrugs his shoulders and says to call 911! He doesn't seem to care at all. On two sides of the park are very, very bad neighborhoods. We drove through them looking for the equipment that was stolen and they looked like drug havens. I suggested that he put wire on the top of the fence. He said he would not do that. The sheriff has asked him repeatedly to warn his campers. There have been muggings when campers have walked outside of the park. I'm really tired of the stealing and am so ready to go someplace else. Also, the owner took our satellite dish down and brought it to us because he didn't want anything at all on his grass. We had permission to put it up from the manager but the owner didn't care about that either. There is cable here but it is not very good. It comes and goes. One night we lost it for hours. The monthly rate here is $360 plus electric plus a $50 electric deposit. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Visited park in a 40' motorhome. Most sites are large concrete pads long enough to accommodate any size motorhome and number of slides. Most sites are back-ins. Tow vehicle must be unhooked and plenty of room to park by site. Park is maintained very well. It is very quiet & clean. Pool is very nice but only heated by sun. One thing that is usually nice about camping at a KOA is that you know what you are getting.
We have camped at several KOA sites across the country, and without question this was the most disappointing. The sites are extremely close to one another and there is very little privacy. The first site we were in had sewer problems, ie. the sewer kept backing up when we dumped. We moved and the next site had the same problem. The park is run down and the owner doesn't seem to be putting a lot of money into it. Given the high quality and price of local state parks (Bayou Segnette @ $12 per night), we would not stay here again. Even the security was better at the state park! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice park for visit to New Orleans. Some of the sites are not very level, but were easy to deal with. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again only if couldn't find somewhere better to stay. The shuttle that takes you to the French Quarter only leaves and 9:00 am and returns at 5:00 pm, so you had better want to stay the entire day away from campground. I would have given better rating if this had been more flexible. We travel with our dog and would not like to leave him for that long. park runs a shuttle to the French Quarter and there are two tour companies that pick-up daily. The "neighborhood" is mixed (some upscale houses and some the opposite) and a few apartments. Campground is located in an abandoned run down industrial waterfront park. The first items covered by park staff were, "This place is safe. The water is good. And we have entertainment 5 nights a week. The Rock Band is loud." Well, they were right about the band. The music was so loud you could not hear the TV inside the motorhome, and the bands played until 11:00pm. Quiet time was 10:00. I went to the office, and they agreed with my assessment and said there was nothing they could do. I asked to be moved away from the bar where the bands were and was told no. No space was available. We stayed an agonizing week, and the park was never full. We will not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate is PA for waterfront back in. Park is about 7 miles away from the craziness of New Orleans. We were on the marina side, and actually saw a gator in the water, which was cool. Park's outdoor bar and restaurant are fantastic--food, drinks, and view. Would've given the park a 10 if not for the airplane noise from nearby airport (though not frequent), the noise from the adjacent boatyard, and train noise (also not frequent). Spots are gravel and wide and long. Cable worked well and free WiFi, too. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Such a wonderful place. First class operation. Not in the best location but once you get there it feels safe and secure. Park staff efficient and friendly. Excellent BBQ joint with bar. Internet system needs upgrade. For the price of nightly rate it should have been better. Bathrooms around the outside were the best I have seen yet but they could have used a few more as they were always full. Shuttle cost $5; we assumed it was complementary . Outbound only runs at 10 am, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Last shuttle leaves at 8 from New Orleans. A few more shuttles would have been convenient. Still a first class operation will stay here again. We really enjoyed this park. Don't be concerned when getting off the highway and driving through an industrial area. It's located next to a boat marina and the park is gated. The sites are all gravel, which is why it only gets an 8 rating and not 10. The staff is very friendly and will help you into your site. They have a really nice pool, which we did not use. They also have a bar and restaurant which serves really good BBQ. We picked this park for the ease to the Quarter.. They offer a shuttle for $5 per person round trip. Rate reflects Passport America rate for each night. The WiFi was really bad. We had to pay Verizon so we could use our phone as a hotspot to go online most of the time. My wife met and talked to the owner about this, and he expressed concern and said he would contact the WiFi provider to look into this. We hope he does for future visitors. The grounds are gravel and dirt. There is a lot of dust that kicks up when vehicles go by. Speed limit is 7mph. I found that the staff are the worst speeders in their four wheelers going around. Right opposite the RV Park is a levy all along France Road. Probably a one time thing, but some teenagers threw rocks at another person staying here, as he drove by the levy in a pick-up, probably around 4pm. (The teenagers were on the other side of the levy where people have homes. They broke his windshield.) This park has a shuttle that goes right into the French Quarter as mentioned, for $5 per person. Our last night we listened to a great jazz band in the RV Parks bar/restaurant. Not sure if we would stay here again, but for us the rate was good. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here on a Saturday and Sunday night. I asked at check in if the park was quiet. I was told that there was no way you could hear the band at night where we would be set up. We went and saw the band, and they were okay. Not too loud. We could hear them in the coach when we got back, but it was not that bad. Beware of this place.. It would take too long to list the things you should think about before NOT staying here. First, the false advertising on their web site. You would think you are staying on the lake, not true, the lake is a mile away and the park is on a small canal. Next you wonder what is on the other side of the sea wall on the road down to the park. Well, it is a subdivision of homes and most have bars on the windows and doors. That should make you feel really safe. In six days there we never saw their claimed security; they might have been afraid to come out. The Wi-Fi was down more than up. They give you rules to follow, and they don't do anything about violations. Trucks double parked in the streets. When we left we had less than 4 inch clearance. They say quiet hours start at 10pm, yet the music from their bar covers the park till midnight. They say the back in sites can handle a forty footer, I guess that is right, but with the sites across from you sticking out in the street and the cars and trucks in the street, it took us 25 minutes to get into the space. Their rates are really high, and I think they are hurting for business as it looks like they have made long term deals with workmen, who rev their diesels at 6:30 in the morning and drink and talk loud till late at night. On a positive note, the water pressure was fine. We will stay at another place next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Review of campground: Sunday & Monday, March 3 & 4 -Pontchartrain Landing Campground: This campground is a New Orleans waterfront RV park. We loved it. Sites are close but bearable. Full hookups with cable, Wi-fi, shuttle service to French Quarter ($5.00 round trip), pool, hot tub, boat ramp, fishing, Lighthouse Bar, entertainment nightly, dog run, and restaurant (excellent food). Tours do take off from the park, and there is plenty of informative materials at the main desk. Cost varies, but our $32 was with Passport America. This park has the potential to be a great park. However, they need to blacktop the primary gravel roads in the park. There is too much dust and gravel. They have bands on the weekend that play too loud, too late. There is not enough laundry facilities and too few restrooms for this size park. And why the toilets in the main building are so high off the floor I do not understand. Don't get me wrong it is a nice park with well spaced sites and large enough roadways to maneuver. There is reasonably easy access to the freeway and downtown. We will definitely stay here on our next trip, but hope they blacktop by that time. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This is a nice park located so it's easy to get to attractions in the New Orleans area. They even provide a shuttle to the French Section for $5 return. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff were very welcoming and the check in was very quick. Staff guided us to the site. This is a great location right on the water. Very friendly people from all over the country. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant (BBQ). They had live music which was great. The weather was chilly so we did not use the pool, but it looked great. We wanted to stay here much longer and will go back. They have a shuttle that goes a couple of times a day to the French Quarter. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Basically, this is just a big gravel parking lot in an out-of-the-way industrial area. Sites are close together, with no shade. Security appears non-existent, although they do have punch-code operated gates. Most of the time at check-in is spent taking you through the many rules, and then promoting their other businesses. They do have a shuttle available to French Quarter ($5), but little else going for them. Wi-fi is the worst (slowest) we have encountered in the last thirty nights of traveling in our RV. Faster to mail a letter and wait for a reply. Would not stay here again - there are better options available in the New Orleans area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We give this place an "A for effort", but we wouldn't stay here again. Pros: Well maintained sites; nice little bar/restaurant; decent band 4 nights a week; shuttle round trip to the French Quarter for only $5. That's about it for pros. This place is WAY overpriced. The whole campground is a lake of mushy mud. It is in an industrial area that is mostly abandoned and full of rusty, empty warehouses. Yes, there are "waterfront" sites, some of which face said warehouses, but many that BACK to the water leaving you a view of the rigs parked in front of you. The place is gated, but I never saw the gate closed. The Winn Dixie (closest grocery) is in the ghetto and is outrageously priced (over $6 for a gallon of milk & $4 for a loaf of CHEAP bread). There is just nothing about the place that would justify a repeat trip. There are better choices. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a great park. The employees were always on duty. The sites (waterfront site #17) are clean and landscaped. The sports bar had live bands during the weekend. The menu at the restaurant was limited to BBQ. There is some industrial noise, but this is New Orleans. Shuttle was $5 RT to the quarters. After 3rd time shuttle was free. There is also a dog park. Only downside was the park road turned to concrete gumbo mud during the rains. Our rate was based on Passport America membership. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I was scared. We entered through an industrial area then shipyards. What a pleasant surprise once we hit the gates for this RV Park. Immaculate, nice staff, beautiful waterfront site. Restaurant and bar on site. Pool is awesome and the Jacuzzi is huge. Can't say enough good things about this place. It was a $20 cab ride to the French Quarter where we hit restaurants and the casino. I'd stop here on the way back but have to stay in Baton Rouge for a meeting instead. This was a great stay! This park is a hidden gem in the middle of a semi industrial area. First impressions when we were driving into it were 'oh no way!' but once we got in through the gated complex our fears were allayed! The park is right on the waterfront and has a restaurant and a bar on site, a great place to meet fellow travelers. The sites are full hook up, quite, and level. Staff was so welcoming, showed us to our site and helped us back in. That was just the start. They also came by every morning and picked up our rubbish and even filled our propane bottle for us. Thank you mate! The shuttle bus takes you into the heart of the French Quarter and picks you up right where he dropped you off! The free hurricane Katrina movie is a must, enlightened us on why New Orleans flooded so badly. It was a great stay, thank you to all the staff for making our stay in New Orleans so memorable! We liked this park. The best part is the shuttle back and forth from the French Quarter ($10 round trip). They have a bar and a restaurant on site. Rate shown is PA rate. We originally were booked for 2 nights but enjoyed it and stayed another day as an extended stop on our way home from Texas. Nice facility, plenty of spacious pull through sites, easy full hookups with cable TV and Wi-Fi. Staff very friendly and answered all our questions about the area, and escorted us to site, then came back by later to ensure all was OK. All roads and sites are gravel with nice plants and foliage to provide some privacy between sites. There is a cafe/bar at the park with live music on weekends, and big screen TVs for watching ball games. The park is on a major waterway near the south side of Lake Ponchartrain. It is expanding and not yet to full capacity. The picture on their website is an artist rendering, not a real picture, but they are getting there. They have houseboats and cabins for rent, a marina with boat launch. Right across the canal is a bigger marina and a yacht yard. It is about a 15-20 minute drive to the French Quarter, and they also have a shuttle that is only $5. It is convenient to many very good restaurants in the Metairie area close by, and in New Orleans. We look forward to returning to this RV park next time we're in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Hook ups are fine, cable works, sites are level. Generally quiet, but there is an airport nearby. Staff are friendly. The shuttle is a good deal and you can get $3 per person discount on tours they book for you. However, it is overpriced. The security gate is seldom closed. Wi-Fi is brutal, bring your own. Back in sites are not overly long. They promote "cancellation insurance", the only park we have experienced doing this. For that reason alone I would not recommend reserving a site. Just show up. The best park in New Orleans, but that doesn't say much since there's very few to chose from. Very dusty and dirty, but secure and well lit. We paid extra to have a canal site and it was roomy and and laid out well. Gravel, with a small grass area near the water. Shared hookups, picnic tables, and nice landscaping at each site. Very nice marina and dock area, as well as a boat launch. Playground for the kids and a very uniquely designed above ground pool with a waterfall. Large puddles (small lakes!) formed in the roadways after a rainstorm which made walking difficult through the park at times. Young office staff are polite, but lack knowledge of the area, attractions, and services. Park has a shuttle ($5 per person) that will take you to French Quarter 3 times daily and pick up as well. Driver is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Park is still in the process of development and introduced a BBQ menu while we were there. No one to wait tables, food was cold but tasted good. With improvements, hopefully the kitchen should soon be able to produce better quality. We felt the park was overpriced, but due to the limited choices in the area, they seem to have the corner on the market. Would stay here again if ever in New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a clean, friendly park. It is located on the New Orleans industrial canal and is surrounded by yacht associated businesses, not heavy industry. The sites are large and spaced well. This is a pretty little park. They are trying very hard to make it a top notch park. Wi-Fi was very slow. The sites are adequate, gravel surrounded by grass. Roads are gravel, but they are working constantly to groom them. This rate is Passport America. Safety was not an issue at all. They road is very rough, but that is not their fault. We enjoyed our stay at this very clean and well maintained RV park and marina. We opted out of staying near the French Quarter, but found this location to be just right with our plans to head to Slidel upon our departure. The drive to the French Quarter was about 7 miles if you did not use their $5 shuttle. The pool, hot tub, and utilities, including Wi-Fi, were all top notch and in great working order. The bathrooms were sufficiently spacious and sinks provided more than enough counter space for shaving. I would definitely stay here again to take advantage of their facilities and water activities. My only compliant was the roads just outside this campground were rough and need improvement. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Park is fairly new. It's crushed gravel that is raked out pretty often. They planted a number of trees and palms all around rock outlined gardens. The sites are mostly pretty large. I easily put our 38' camper and pick-up end to end with some space left over. The electric was perfect, the water pressure was good, the cable TV was outstanding, but the Wi-Fi was completely useless. It's located in an industrial area, but the other options in N.O. are either far more expensive or just horrible. Rate reflects Passport America discount. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ponchartrain Landing. Check in was friendly, fast and informative. We were given lots of information about the area, local tours and the shuttle service the park offered. It was pouring rain and the afternoon we arrived so we opted to stay right there and enjoy the bar. The bar was nice, offering food (primarily reheated burgers and pizza) and live entertainment a few times a week. The shuttle service was great, taking tourists to and from the city at 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM Never used the bathrooms so I can't comment on the facilities. The sites were a bit tight with zero shade and the small, sharp stones made it hard to walk, even with shoes on. My dogs feet wound up swollen from having to walk on the stones to the dog park at the entrance. Other than that, it was a great stay and we will definitely be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Mother always told me if you can't say anything nice about something or someone don't say anything at all. The only good thing about this park were the people on either side of us. In the few hours we stayed, we made friends with them and have arranged to meet them in Quartzite in a few months. The park is basically a gravel parking lot with a few small palms. The spaces were small and close together. Utilities were grouped at the mid point of the sites requiring us to pull forward until 5 feet of our 40' coach stuck out into the roadway. And this was specifically the solution from park personnel. The park is located within an industrial area and we heard the whine of machinery running all hours and back up beepers. The place is over priced but admittedly nicer than other parks nearby. The aerial photo their website displays is a less than accurate portrayal of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Likes: Near NOLA, site big enough, office nice, bar on deck with food nice. Dislikes: narrow roads with vehicles parked in road. Tight turns. With 80,000 miles on my RV I do not need an obstacle course and test to get in or out of my sight. They say no parking in road, but they need to enforce it and widen the turns; dodging a gas pipe line and a bath house is not fun. This park is in an industrial area and the water views are not scenic by any means but we felt safe inside the fenced and security gated park. The park staff were all very friendly and check in was a breeze. We did not use the pool or hot tub but it looked very nice and clean. The park is convenient for touring all New Orleans has to offer and a shuttle is available through the park to the French Quarter daily (we did not use this service). The road coming to the park, as posted in other reviews, is very rough but this is not the fault of the park. The sites are decent but close together and ours required about 2 inches of leveling, we did have a breaker pop one day but it did not happen again during our 4 night stay. The park roads and sites are a crushed white rock/gravel and it does track into your rig, we can only imagine what a mess it makes if it rains. Overall it is one of the nicer parks without the high price if you plan on checking out the city of New Orleans, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is probably the nicest friendliest park in the area. There doesn't appear to be much for kids but the park is clean, little curvy roads nice back in sites right on the water fish from behind your rig can't beat that. Quiet and well lit at night. This was a very nice campground, and without a doubt the best we have stayed in until then. It's apparently on reclaimed ground since Katrina, and they have done a nice job landscaping each site with a divider of palms and foliage and rocks, with nice gravel level sites. The high rate we paid was due to Mardi Gras season, so they feel justified in charging. A shuttle bus leaves for the French Quarter three times a day for $5 per person per day. A nice marina is off one side, giving the place a water feature. Downsides: the cable TV was basically worthless. Most of the channels had heavy snow, and the channels advertised as HBO were not HBO but some were the HBO minor channels, like HBO2 and HBO familly, but not the real HBO. I called to request help after hours for a couple of reasons and each time someone answered and actually helped. So that was great! Including getting the real HBO to appear one night. I tried again a few nights later and it was not HBO again, it had been switched. I know this because I was able to get online with my iphone and check the HBO schedule. Also, for all their bathroom gorgeousness, there are only 2 bath houses for the entire park. The one in the back of the campground, which service at least three dozen campers, have only a one stall bathroom for men and one stall for women, each with a toilet and shower in one room. That means anyone taking a shower monopolizes the room, making it impossible for anyone else to use a toilet unless they walk clear back to the main lodge building. The campground needs more showers/toilets built, or they should have separated them when the building was constructed. The Wi-FI signal is very unreliable. We tried it during different times of the day and it cut in and out, but the last day we were there it didn't even show up on our network connection. But despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay there and hope that they can work out these kinks. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The rate of 33 bucks is for passport members. They give that rate for up to 2 weeks of stay. I stayed here last year and this year there are a myriad of improvements. There is a very nice lounge here that has a lot of tables and heaters and affords a great view of the water. The landscaping has been updated and they say they are in the process of drastically expanding the park. They offer a lot of concierge services, tours, 5 buck trips into town, etc. That personal service goes a long way. I remember the same employees from last year and an experienced staff helps you get checked in and out easily. The park is very very safe and is in a gated area. You are only about a 5 minute drive from downtown. I gave them a 10 because I couldnt think of anything I would improve. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The best thing about this park is its proximity to the French Quarter and the shuttle available to get you there. The park itself is in a very industrial area on the river so there is no walking/biking available and no access to Lake Pontchartrain. But let's be real...we weren't there to walk, bike, or swim! We were there to experience the French Quarter, and that we did. The shuttle was a wonderful way to get there and back safely, timely and save money and frustration trying to park in the Quarter. The price was PA and we thought it was very generous and reasonable for the area. The shuttle was $5/pp. We took the 10 a.m. (first of the day) and returned on the 8 p.m. (last of the day) but you have the option of cabbing home if it gets late. The park itself is neat, clean but sites are TIGHT. if we had even a foot more of RV or truck we would have been SOL (we have a 36ft fifth wheel and 1 ton truck). The laundry room was clean and functional. There is a large bar atop the main building that we didn't go to but it looked nice. Clearly there were guests enjoying that area as they did keep kind of late (and loud) hours. The pool was very well kept and pretty but not heated. The hot tub was your standard home version that was warm if anything. The staff was very nice, very efficient and helpful at all times. We would definitely return to this park. This is a great oasis close to a devastated city. The staff is friendly, the campground is clean and the sites are adequate. You can catch the shuttle three times a day for $5 return or get a taxi for about $20. The bar serves great pizza and chicken wings ($16 for a loaded medium pizza and 10 wings). Both the swimming pool and hot tub were open in January. They are accommodating a number of trailers filled with male workers and at times, on Sunday, I felt like I was staying in a migrant labor camp. But they really weren't a big problem. Don't be intimidated by the rough looking neighborhood when you leave I-10. It's only a short drive to the gated park and you have to remember that New Orleans is still a devastated city. We considered staying at a French Quarter park but they would only give us the Passport rate for one night, and they insisted on a 50%, non-refundable deposit when there were only a few sites occupied. This is an excellent park. We stayed here in December 2010 over New Year's and again this November. Our kudos to the owners for the great changes they have made to the park in the past 11 months. It gives you hope for the recovery of New Orleans. They have added palm trees and rock gardens between the sites. They also have a proper little marina with water and electric. They have also built a houseboat that you can rent as well as a couple of cottages. Well Done! It's kind of nice to be surrounded by million-dollar yachts! We used our Passport America which gave us a rate of $33.00 There is still a shuttle service which takes you to the French Quarter for $4/person round trip, 3 times a day. The outdoor (covered) bar/restaurant that serves great pizza is still there and even the same bartender. We'll stay here again - regardless of the price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

New since Katrina CG. First assigned site was much too small for a 35' fifth wheel and tow vehicle, but we were moved to a larger pull-through site at same price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Shuttle to French Quarter is handy, but only makes 3 round trips a day. Negatives are surrounding neighborhood is run-down industrial with many derelict structures, and the road in is very rough. Park is security fenced and gated, but I would not feel comfortable outside the fence after dark. Sites are gravel as are interior roadways, which are narrow. All said, still probably the best choice near the French Quarter. We will probably stay here in the future because of its easy access via shuttle to Brennan's. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

New park since the hurricane. Beautiful but cold pool & waterfall. Nice office & entertainment balcony, clean laundry room. Site was right on the water and was large and clean with a beautiful Oleander bush and landscaping at every site. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was worth the drive to the French Quarter to stay here where there is space to move around, cookout, fish and enjoy the boats coming & going on the bay. From what we could see, it's the best in the area. We'd recommend it highly. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I don't know if there is a safe location close to New Orleans where you can park your RV. This place tries. It is gated, and the staff was very helpful informing us about places we could go and could not go safely. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. The park was well laid out and we used their laundry facility which was clean. Lots of dirt and crush and run. They did have a nice dog park and some grass areas where you could walk. Had a problem with another RV park in the French Quarter, that did not honor our prepaid reservation, called Pontchartrain Landing RV at about 11;30 pm, and they graciously accommodated us with a large spot right on the water, the place was clean, spaces were not cramped together, staff was friendly and helpful. They had a nice bar open on weekends (with great Pizza) and provided free transportation to and from the Jazz & Heritage Festival. We will always come back to this RV park while in New Orleans area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is not a 10. It is "paved" with crushed white rock that was hard to walk on, messy (white dust all over). There is a view but of a ship yard and old crumbling buildings. Between the sites are piles of mulch with very nice plants, but the rocks and mulch are fighting to see who wins the edges. The result is constant adding either mulch or rock. Couldn't find an appropriate spot to put out a chair. We were in a pull-through. Had we been on the water in a back in site we would have had a bit a level grass. Also, had to take our laundry in town because they didn't have enough machines. This park has a long way to go. Luckily we used Passport America. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground was a lovely surprise. Very clean. Friendly staff greeted us at our late arrival and showed us where to park. We had a very nice river view site. Nice and quiet and not a far drive into the French Quarter. Clubhouse and pool area was very nice: our kids loved the pool. We stayed here overnight on the way to Destin and would definitely come back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here four nights on the Passport America rate. Gravel with some grass. Long sites make it easy for Big Rigs. Convenient to downtown: either by car or the shuttle located in the campground. Nice pool and bar. Located on the river in a not so scenic area but fine for a short stay. We checked out other campgrounds while we were in the area and found Ponchatrain Landing to be the nicest. Unfortunately, New Orleans does not have much choice in CGs. Pontchartrain Landings is supposedly a new resort, but it shows much older. Is is all dirt with some gravel. We are expecting heavy thunderstorms tonight and expect a lot of mud tomorrow. Therefore it is VERY dusty. The sites are not in strict rows which is a plus since they promote privacy. The sites advertised as waterfront, look over industrial canals with heavy industry just across the water. They have a nice bar open several days per week. The pool is very nice. The staff is friendly. Wi-fi is weak. We did not use the cable TV. Electric and water are strong. The reason I rate this CG low is that it is not worth what they charge. And it is VERY dusty. We would stay here again, but only if we couldn't find something else near New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

With the PA discount this RV park is a good value. We found the "amenities" to be less than good. The cable TV was noisy so we used our antenna which was excellent. The WIFI did not reach our site even though we were within 10 rigs of the office. The shuttle service into the French Quarter does not run frequently and we had to take a $30 taxi ride back to the park. The park tended to be a bit noisy with workers leaving in the morning and revelers returning very late at night. The later probably goes with the New Orleans "ambiance". Having said all that, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We loved our stay there! I can't wait to go back! The staff there are incredible, very informative and helpful with everything we needed. The Northern couple that manage the place have captured southern hospitality at its best! The shuttle bus was perfect as we weren't familiar with New Orleans. The campground was very close to all the attractions and yet felt safe to bring the whole family. The bar/pool area had an amazing view which made it a very relaxing area to sit at night. This park started off great and was a big disappointment at the end. When we checked in we said we might like to stay 4 nights and the office personnel said they would charge us for 3 and hold the 4th day. They did not give us any time line to make this choice. Upon calling to add the 4th night we were told we would have to move as they had rented it out WITHOUT calling us or making any form of contact. The person checking us in was friendly and so helpful. They offer a shuttle to New Orleans and that is nice. The gate is closed at 6:00 p.m. and we liked that. However due to their renting out our space we have scored them low. Newest campground in New Orleans 6001 France Road. Waterfront on Lake Pontchartrain in gated park. Very friendly and helpful staff. Don't be alarmed as you pull into area. Ship building area. Hot tub, Sun heated pool, fenced pet area, boat ramp, fishing, pool tables, pub service Thurs to Sun, shuttle service to French Quarter $5/person each way, ask about shuttle times, taxi approx. $19 one way. The interstate coming into New Orleans from the east is very bumpy and your cupboard items may shift. Currently have daytime noise in area due to work on a bridge across the lake. Showers were unpredictable with hot water, our only minor complaint. We stayed in a Premium back-in waterfront site with truck/camper with slides and cargo trailer(40'total) and had lots of room. The park has gravel roads and is very dusty if it is dry. Some of the camp sites are a bit narrow. We used the shuttle service to get down town and liked that very much. Wish they offered a few more trips. We would have liked to go down town in the early afternoon one day and we had to take a cab back one evening. There is some heavy construction on a levee near the park and we were kept awake by the noise of a pile driver all night long, one night while we were there. We paid 31 per night because we are Passport members. Regular rate was stated to be 51. I do not know if this was before or after taxes. The park is conveniently located about 5 miles from New Orleans French Quarter. They offer daily shuttles for 5 bucks a person. In my rating I am considering price in the rating: I mean it is not fair to compare a 31 dollar a night park to a 70 dollar a night park. For what I paid it is a nice, safe, convenient park. I feel like the park is ultra safe. The park is in an industrial area and not a residential area. The park is also fenced. This makes the park very secluded. There is a very nice outside bar that looks like it would be fun, but it was windy and cold when I was here and not many people were using the bar. The park was gravel and I know that bothers some people because you end up with dust and dirt is easier to track into your coach. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our second stay at this park. It is one of the newer parks in the New Orleans area and is gated. Had a river front site, very clean, sites well maintained and you are guided to your site. Very nice park. Maybe our expectations were set low by some of the other reviewer's concerns about the neighborhood, but I really didn't mind being surrounded by million-dollar yachts! The rate varies by season and by day, and is a little high. There is a shuttle service to take you to the French Quarter for $4/person round trip. Had a really funny "temp" driver whose real job was NOPD undercover cop at night in the French Quarter. Great stories! Perhaps even scary stories. There is an outdoor (covered) bar/restaurant that serves great pizza. If we are ever back this way, we'll stay here again - regardless of the price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I want to settle some things for your readers. There have been quite a few negative posters on this site. What their problem is I don't know, but something is wrong. We are full-time rv'er and have staying at 100's of places, this will be among our favorites. Several have mentioned the size of the sites. We saw a few that were on the small size but the management does their best to fill them last. Our site is just fine. Lots of hibiscus and oleander. And yes, you can definitely see the water. There is a common area at the very end of the park. The pool and the pizza were amazing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

First the good. It is very convenient to the city and fairly quiet. I disagree with a previous reviewer about the security concerns. There are million dollar yachts close by with no apparent risks. Now the not so good. This place has cut and sliced the sites so precisely that there is no way to enjoy the little space given to each rig. It lacks appeal. You are given a spot designed to maximize the owner's profit. If you are not on a waterfront spot, forget about getting a glimpse of the water because there is no common area where you can enjoy it. First trip to New Orleans, and this park. Based on other reviews, we knew that the park was not located in a "typical" RV park area, so we were not surprised by the industrial surroundings. The park was very quiet on the canal with fishing opportunities. All the sites are gravel and ours was not level. Don’t be fooled by this park’s website. The industrial location in the Harbor area does little for one’s sense of security although there is on site security and after hours security gates. The layout of their 105 sites makes the most use of their real-estate with minimal utility for RVs. The office staff is clearly not knowledgeable of big rig maneuverability nor site capabilities – trying to assure us that a 40 ft MH with 20 ft trailer and an additional vehicle would fit in a 20 x 40 ft pull through which required a 120 degree tight turn to access. Wi-Fi was marginal at best. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very interesting RV park. Its located along a very industrial shipping area. Our site backed up to the water and we had a view of a canal and boat dry storage, which was actually nice and peaceful. Plus it was enjoyable looking at the beautiful boats. It was very clean and secure, gates lock at 6pm. The landscaping between sites is lovely. Everyone we met from our fellow RVers to the staff was friendly. It's very close to downtown New Orleans, about 6 miles. They offer a shuttle but we chose to drive our own car. We would recommend this to anyone, it's different, but different can be good! Excellent choice of parks to visit New Orleans. Park is off the "beaten" path in East New Orleans but don't let the industrial area scare you away. The park staff is extremely nice and helpful offering the only bar / lounge of any RV park we have stayed at. The park also offers a daily free shuttle (please tip the drivers) directly to the French Quarter. Last shuttle runs at 8pm so if you're going to be late seeing the sites, cab fare is less than $20 to get you back to the park. The co-owner is on-site daily. This is a great place to stay while visiting NOLA. There is a shuttle that runs guests back and forth to NOLA, and the shuttle stop is in a great downtown location. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Our RV spot faced the river, so the fishing was right out our front door. Each RV park had a fire pit ring, and the RV resort has a bar on site. This is where we met other guests staying at the campground for drinks and movie watching. It was a wonderful experience staying at this campground. Friendly staff, they provide an escort to your site and he makes sure you understand the hook ups they have, and points out locations for walking your pet. They have a large grassy area in the middle of the park and a fair good sized fenced area to let your dog off leash. There is a free shuttle that takes you to the French Quarter so you don't have to hassle traffic and parking. There is a bar area that opens about 5pm that also serves pizza and wings, or you can order them and they will deliver the food to your RV. The park is gravel with landscaping between sites, there is ample room between sites. The cable TV is adequate with 4 HBO stations. The WiFi is the best I've ever experienced. Spent a week here and really loved it. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I broke my foot just before arriving here so had mobility issues. One of the staff members delivered ice to our camper and then delivered a wheelchair to me that I'd rented from a local service. When my fridge went out, the front office recommended a repairman who came out promptly and dealt with me fairly. The pool is sparkling, and you don't have to have a site right on the canal to have a view of the water. Laundromat is clean and in working order, and my two dogs loved the dog park. We haven't availed ourselves of the on-site pizza and wing delivery or the bar, but they seem to be pretty popular. Wi-Fi is pretty weak, and we were only about halfway through the park from the office. We didn't use the shuttle, either, but saw plenty of people who did. It's an appealing feature of the park for those who want to visit the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Entrance to park from the freeway will have you wondering if you selected a decent campground. Once you get into the gates its probably one of the nicest parks in the French Quarter area, that is not a campground on a parking lot. The staff was excellent from check-in to the driver. They had a shuttle that went into the French Quarter three times a day. I didn't care for the shuttle times, but we were able to convince the shuttle driver to take us down there on his off time for a small fee (excellent). The last shuttle pick up is 7pm which should be later but who can complain if its free. We had a river view which was in the canal of a industrial area. Saw some dolphins at sunset. The entrance road to the park might make you think twice but once you get back to the Park you will find it is a good location, friendly and safe. The area is under redevelopment so this will be improving. You can actually see the skyline of New Orleans from the upper deck around the office. Pool, pavilion, and bar are very nice. My wife after retreated to the A/C in the camper due to the heat and commented she wished there was an air conditioned work out room. The very next morning I saw work being done on a new work out room under the office. The park is also pet friendly with a dog run and clean up bags in the park. The best surprise was a free shuttle running to the French Qtr's daily. The Quarters is only 6 miles away. This will be our destination when we want to visit New Orleans. Great campground. I was a little worried when we pulled off I-10, but I sure was glad I kept going! Pulled though the gate and vacation started. Reservations were correct, and the staff guided me to the site and helped me back in. In no time we were at the "LIGHTHOUSE BAR" having a Margarita. We spent a few days in the quarter. The park has a free shuttle back and forth to the quarter: fantastic no parking hassles and all the bar hoping we could handle. Some guests were here for the fishing. The park has a boat ramp and storage on site. The wireless Internet was easy to connect to and pretty fast. The only thing that keeps me from giving this park a 10 is the interior roads needed a little maintenance. I noticed the staff working on them when we pulled out. The sites were level and the park was quiet. I would camp here again anytime. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a very pleasant RV park. It is more like a fish camp that one finds along the Mississippi river. If you pay extra for a waterfront site it comes with people walking through and sitting on your site fishing. And if they are successful they will clean their fish on the spot. The road to this park made us wonder where we were going, but after reading other reviews we pressed on and boy are we glad we did. Very nice gated facility with their own bar onsite. We booked this CG based on price and the fact they offer a free shuttle service to and from the French Quarter 3 times daily. We checked out the one right in the FQ but they wanted $69 a night, no discounts, and it was heavily fenced with razor wire and armed guards at night. We were told by the management of Ponchartrain landing that they often get people leaving there and coming here - after they stay one night in the FQ and hear the 5-10 gun shots a night. This park seemed in an odd place, sort of industrial boat yards. But after staying there it is quiet, friendly staff, great showers, clean bathrooms, and more. We used the shuttle 2 or 3 times and it was very handy - a taxi back was only $20 if you stay out past the last one back. We will stay here again. There is a pool, hot tub, outdoor bar and movies outdoors. There is no indoor clubhouse, but that's about all that's missing. They just finished their boat launch too so you can hit the lake right from within the park now. Thanks to manager for a great stay. Rate reflects Passport America discount. Nice campground find in New Orleans, fairly new and they are in the process of adding a small boating facility. Punctual shuttle service to the French Quarter three times daily (cabs are about $20 each way and daily parking is also about $20/day). Fenced dog walk, hot tub, friendly helpful people and they have an on-site bar that serves good pizza. Both the drinks and the pizza are moderately priced. We have been traveling the US for 3 months now and this is our favorite park so far. They offer a free shuttle service to the French Quarter: very handy. This is the first and only place that has a bar and a very friendly manager/bartender. They also do pizza and wings at the bar or delivered directly to your RV. The pizza is really good. We stayed here for a week at Mardi Gras. Great staff; very helpful and friendly. There is a shuttle bus 3 times a day to French Quarter. Yes, the last road to the camp was rough, but so are most of the roads in New Orleans. The area might look bad, but we had no problems. Once again it is an urban city. Sites were gravel but nice. Stayed here 3 days. Staff was very nice. Rate reflects Passport America discount. Called and thought I reserved a canal site, however, was given a pull through with no view. Updates are in process. All roads and sites are gravel. For the price charged without a discount, I would expect paved roads and cement pads. Propane is available which is a plus. There is a beautiful pool and a nice bar area. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful and very safe, secure, and gated RV park. The park is close to the French Quarter. Shuttle service is available for guest convenience. The outstanding, attentive, caring, and knowledgeable staff make staying here a real joy. We heartily recommend Pontchartrain RV Park and will stay here again and again. This was our second time coming to this park and we were surprised by the amount of progress this park has made since our last stay. They now have a bar located on the pavilion deck overlooking the canal, and soon it will be accessible by boat. We were sad to see all the brown landscaping, but it was explained to us it was a result of temps in the teens 3 weeks prior to our stay. We came for Mardi Gras and love the free shuttle to the Quarter. We chose this park the first time based off reviews on this site and returned because this park went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. This park is in an industrial area, but we found the area serves as a buffer to the city so it was very secure. The last post about this park talks about an "unruly" guest. In all fairness to the park it should be known the person in question wasn't unruly at all; however, he was drunk and depressed, and the park staff dealt with the situation swiftly and professionally. I have stayed both here and the resort downtown and both are nice parks but in the future will only stay here because of its location and very quiet nights. Mardi Gras was a great time, and we look forward to our next trip to NOLA. 10+++ We camped here in a Motorhome.

The website must have been for a different park. This in in an old industrial area, not very secure. Police had to remove some unruly guest. They charged $114 for a waterfront site but you just look across a canal at some abandoned building. We booked 2 nights but left early due to security issues. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Above rate reflects weekly rate, basically the same as Passport America daily rate. The only real complaint we would have here are the gravel/mud streets due to heavy rain two days during our week-long stay. It's not quite what we expected from the web site, but tolerable. The free Wi-Fi was very fast and fairly reliable with only rare and brief drop-outs during periods of heavy use. Sites include landscaping between, and each site we saw has a least a small grass area. Management is very management and helpful. There are only a few bathrooms and showers, but they are very well maintained. Park is gated. Very nice free shuttle 3 times daily to and from the French Quarter. When we return to New Orleans, there is no doubt that this is where we will stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

First class!!!! The free shuttle to the French Quarter made it well worth the price. We used Passport America for 2 nights and had a site right on the water. Clean, roomy sites, excellent service!!! Ponchartrain Landing is the place to stay when visiting New Orleans. The rate is about $30 with Passport America. Bathrooms were extremely clean and well cared for. Staff was extremely friendly, and very helpful when it comes to things like finding grocery stores. From Ponchartrain Landing it's about 15 minutes to the French Quarter. The park has two vans (one large, one small) and shuttles campers back and forth at no charge. Be advised the campground is situated in an industrial area, on a canal. The surroundings area is hardly beautiful, but the campground - and sites - are first rate!! Also note there is a pool and hot tub here, though we didn't use them. We will stay here whenever we're in New Orleans. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our 6 night stay here. The park is located in a mostly abandoned industrial area along a canal near the edge of Lake Pontchartrain. Some would see that as a negative but we found it a nice change of pace from the high energy and "who dat" volume of downtown and the French Quarter. Don’t waste your time looking for a better park in the area. I don’t know what could make it any better. Especially if you compare prices. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here using Passport America. Overall the park is great, however, still under construction. Gravel throughout, no concrete pads. Expect a lot of construction throughout New Orleans on your way into the park (plan ahead!). Excellent features in this park - shuttle to the French Quarter 3x per day, fenced dog park, restaurant and bar on site. The area surrounding the park is a warehouse/industrial area. We stayed here using Passport America's discount. Easy to get in and out. Staff is very friendly. They have a restaurant and bar on site. We didn't use it, but they give you a free drink ticket when you check in. Riverfront, with a decent view. It's not the prettiest park you've ever seen, but it's better than some. It's about 5 miles or 10 minutes from the French Quarter. Good location. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park, nicely landscaped, helpful staff. The pool with waterfall looks over the river. Security is good with a coded gate. The park is 15 minutes from the French Quarter where parking is impossible, but the park provides free shuttle service three times daily and a taxi number for late returning. There is even a park guest who offers dog sitting services. A good choice for a safe and convenient stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Pontchartrain Landing in October. Our $29 rate was with Pass Port America discount. Their free shuttle runs 3 times a day to the French Quarter. That, combined with the daily rail pass for New Orleans streetcars, meant that we never had to unhook the towed car from the motor home. The campground appearance is lovely with well-maintained gravel roads, and lush tropical plantings including flowering oleander and hibiscus. The views outside the campground are less than ideal, surrounded by an industrial shipping and warehouse area. The pool area was very nice with outdoor bar serving beer and soda at night (but may have different hours during their busy season). The access road from the highway to the campground is rough pavement, so just take it slow. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall a very nice experience. The park was clean and well managed. The staff was very helpful. On the way into the park you wonder what your in for but once there it's actually very nicely landscaped. The fishing on the canal is great. The shuttle to the French Quarter ( 3 x day) was a very nice plus. Would like to have stayed a little longer but only allow Passport Sun thru Thur. otherwise would be a bit expensive. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A very nice park although I was a little concerned what I'd find as I drove down the industrial harbor area. The staff was very nice. Everything was very clean. There was a nice pool area. Free shuttle 3 times a day. When I had a problem with the cable TV at my site, the manager came and fixed it. Wi-Fi worked well. Price was for Escapees which I thought was very fair for the city and amenities they offered. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for jazz fest weekend and couldn't be happier. Weren't sure about the place on our way there but what a diamond in the rough. Ship traffic to watch, super yachts going by, and the dolphins capped everything off. I couldn't believe this park is in the city because at night you hear nothing!!! The staff was a 10+++ and we would recommend this park every chance we get. What an awesome experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The actual charge for our supersite, as they call it, was $128 per night. The site was right on the industrial canal, not river, and the sites you see across the canal are derelict and shuttered industrial buildings and barges. We could barely get our slideouts out due to the closeness of the site to the adjoining sites, but the worst was that adjoining neighbors were permanent campers and had spread out all over the site including our site. The campground is in an industrial area with a very broken down access road and lots of stored campers and boats. This is not a place that you would want to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I disagree with prior posters in that this park is not scary at all andthey are working to repair the road leading to the park (about 1 mile long) and the park is gated. It is in the harbor area, so some of the buildings on the road leading to the park are warehouses. The park however, is nice ,gravel roads and sites and right on the water. All new landscaping and office building since the storm. The park is a work in progress, but we liked it. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They do run a free shuttle to the French Quarter 3 times a day. We drove it today ourselves, takes about 15 minutes to get there. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The location is a little scary. You're down by the river located by old warehouses and Industrial buildings. The front gated is locked at 7PM and you must use a code to open it. There is a free van schedule to the French Quarter is 3 times daily. Cab fare is $20 each way. All day parking at the French Quarter is $20. Sites and internal roads are all gravel. The only grass is by the river sites. They are full hook up sites. The outside pool was open but too dirty and cold to use. They have 3 washers and 4 dryers that work well. $1.50 per load in washer & dryer. Management was very nice and accommodating. They also have a dog run. Overall a interesting campground. Last year we stayed at the KOA West and when it rains there it floods their streets and sites. Here you can watch the boat traffic on and the occasional launching of water craft. We would return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great access to the city. The shuttle was invaluable for the casino and French Quarter. WiFi was spotty to non- existent. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. This is a new and constantly improving park. The staff was FABULOUS. They were more than accommodating and helpful. Came to our site to help us get around New Orleans, give us suggestions of where to go / places to see. Shuttle bus service 3 times a day which saved us driving our car into busy downtown for sightseeing. Only draw back is location. But very safe as gated community. Park is a work in progress. We were skeptical about staying in this part of town, but the park is well secured and the staff is very friendly. Not much grass, if you have a dog, but they do have a nice fenced in area where the dogs can play, unleashed. There is a shuttle to the French Quarter, but we chose to drive. Had no problems finding a parking space. Shuttle is free, but only runs at designated times. Having a dog, we preferred to come and go as we pleased. We had signed up for one night, but renewed for 2 more nights. Restrooms are large and very clean. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The park management went above and beyond to make our stay pleasurable. We had a waterfront pull in that looked out to a large ship not necessarily beautiful but it was definitely waterfront. We stayed here in a travel trailer and we did so because they had shuttle to the French Quarter (Mardi Gras) it was a very nice plus. Didn't understand why after midnight they would shut down the park lights making it difficult to see!?? It was gated but it needed to be it was in an industrial area away from anything in a scary part of town. We would probably stay here again but only for Mardi Gras. The showers/bathrooms were clean well maintained. Didn't use the laundry but saw a few campers utilizing the facility. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is definitely one of the better RV parks in the New Orleans area. Be sure to request a water site. The park provides free shuttle to downtown, but if you stay at home it's fun watching yachts go by. They've suffered a bit from recent hurricanes, but working to keep the park restored. This resort is truly a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the friendly courteous staff. Your stay begins with an escort to your site and assistance with backing in if necessary. So many little extras like trash pick up each day made our time here a pleasure. The free, three times daily, shuttle service to the French Quarter is a real time and money saver. The cost of parking in the French Quarter is around $20 to $25 a day and at times not easy to find so this free service was great. Sites are very level, well landscaped, and large enough for any sized rig. Hook-ups include 50 amp service, and cable in addition to water and sewer. I found only two minor drawbacks. The city street leading to the resort needs improvement and climbing those stairs to the office/clubhouse, several times a day is not fun for people with knee or leg problems. Overall I would recommend this resort and I will definitely stay here again in the future. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 1 week with a cost of $218 including the taxes. This is a newer park and is now called Pontchutrain Landing. They have a free shuttle to the French Quarter and it is well worth it as parking is $20 a day if you can find it. The negatives are the area(its in an industrial area-a yacht building company and a tough neighborhood to shop) and the pot-holed road to the park. There is noise from the RR track. It is safe and clean and patrolled by the Harbor Police. We would stay there again. The wifi was sporadic but the staff was excellent-a 10+. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent 3 nights here. Sites were clean and level.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The manager is fantastic as is the staff, very friendly and helpful. We used the free shuttle to the French Quarter which ran 3 times a day. The manager even decided to pick up folks on New Years Eve at 1:00 which wasn't on the schedule. The campground has only been in operation for 18 months but they have done a fabulous job of creating a fabulous site. Pets can enjoy lots of walking space and a large fenced play area. Free Wi-Fi and cable were great. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. Passport America discount was good for 1 night. Cost does not reflect this discount. Campground was completely rebuilt after the floods and is in very good condition. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to the French Quarter was very much appreciated. Yes, the drive to the campground through the damaged industrial section is not pretty but once in the campground it is very safe and secure. The gates are locked at night. We never had any concerns while here. We will definitely be coming back here next year and stay on the waterfront again. Their new name is Pontchartrain Landing. Check out their website, they have big plans for the campground. We paid Passport rates. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very clean campground (although one new section is under construction which creates a little understandable, acceptable mess). Nightly rate was for Mardi Gras. We stayed here for 4 nights. They are also expanding about 30 more sites. This is a good park for exploring downtown New Orleans. It is a very safe park despite the drive in to get there. The shuttle is very convenient to the French Quarter. Cab rides if you miss the shuttle should be ~$15 (Be aware during special events. New, one year old and built after Katrina. Spacious, level sites: adding another 60 sites to accommodate growth. Owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and can't do enough for you. About 5 miles from the French Quarter with easy access. Located along the west side of the Industrial Canal in an area of heavy industry, which poses no negative concerns. Very quiet. I would select it over the RV park downtown due to a safe and more secure feeling. No street people around here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed the month of Feb and enjoyed being close to downtown and near the Mardi Gras parade routes. The campground was quiet and secure which was important to us. Being new motor home owners we appreciated CJ, the manager,helping us set up and answering our numerous questions during our first outing in a campground. We will definitely be back. This park was renovated by the owners after Katrina, the restroom/shower house was remodeled this year. The campground is clean and luckily close to the French Quarter, safety was not a issue as the park is enclosed and the owners are always around, additionally it is a comfort to know a New Orleans policeman lives on site. The Food plus store on site has everything you might need. The swimming pool is sparkling clean and well maintained. The owners are pet friendly but do expect you to keep the dogs leashed and pick up after them. The place called city park is just a few miles away if you wish to take pets for a long walk. For the price this place is my choice in New Orleans. Basic rate is 30 per night except when Special events are going on such as Jazz fest, and that rate is for any size bus or RV. The owners welcome AAA and Good Sam for a 10% discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is definitely not a family park. They are a Passport America park also. It has a working salvage yard on the west side, US10 and a Super 8 Motel on the east. It is fenced with a high Cyclone fence but that does not keep the noise out. It does have a swiming pool but it was filled with green slime and tadpoles. They offered the Passport America discount and than charged for cable TV and sewer
hookup after the discount. It is located in what has to be the worst neighborhood in New Orleans with lots of Goverment housing around the park. Once you
get in the park, you have to disconnect your toad to get turned around. Several full sized mobile homes at the south end with engine hoists and junk cars and
engines laying around. Also several year round residents in those trailers. Stay away. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Not much there. It is a Good Sam Park, but it is in a very bad area, and it backs up to I-10, therefore it is very noisy. About five miles to downtown, and the French Quarter. Not much to look at. Not much choice in New Orleans proper. There are three other RV parks within three or four blocks of Riverboat RV Park. None of them looked any better. I wouldn't get out and walk the streets in that area of town. We camped here in a camper.
