Large beautiful state park. The only negative I found was that the campsites are not well kept. I had to clean broken glass, burnt upholstery, and other trash out of the fire ring and pit just to use them. I rated this park a 7 because of the un-kept campsite. Since they charge a fee for these sites, they should make sure they are well kept for the campers. The pool is large, great fishing piers available, and a very nice playground area. We stayed in the South Loop. Most of the sites I found were level in the loops. If you are on the main road through the south loop, watch out for the unlevel pads and sites where you have to walk down a steep hill to your pit/fire ring. We drove to the north loop. There is a very nice Comfort Station there. The only laundry facility in the park is in the North Loop; 4 mile drive from the South Loop. Finally, our site did not have a 50 amp connection so be prepared. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great place to go camping. Well lit campground. Park rangers constantly patrolling keeping an eye out for people doing wrong or even on our kids. Didn't have any problems letting my daughter ride her bike around the campground. Great pool with lifeguards on duty. Concession stand. Wi-Fi available. This was a great place and we will be back. I think they must have even sprayed for mosquitoes. We had no problem with any bugs of any kind while we were there. And in Louisiana, that's saying something! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground with lots of trees and beautiful lake. Staff at the front gate were very friendly and knowledgable. I would have given the park a 10/10 but we lost electricity one night for almost 4 hours, no bad weather. The park has 2 emergency numbers for after hours, the first number was disconnected, and the other number was for the on call park ranger. It was a pager, and my phone call was never returned. We camped here for 6 nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice place to stay with beautiful trees covering sites. The old section A is the nicest with lake views. Police used to patrol a lot to keep things quiet. Lately golf carts have been allowed and less patrolling by police and it gets out of hand. Police had to be called out all three days to quiet the drunks driving carts with trailers and loud music, well into the middle of the night. Very irritating. If things do not change we do not recommend unless you go during the weekday it is quiet then. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved our stay here. We went along with a few friends and had a great time. At the time the park was almost completely empty, so we were able to choose the perfect spots we wanted, which were right on the lake. There are tons of shade trees, swings for the kids, a laundromat and showers, which were very clean. There are also cabins for rent, and some good fishing, too! The Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming, which is very important, in our opinion. The only downside to this park is the fact that there were no sewer hookups, and we had to use the dump station, but that really wasn't a biggie. Otherwise, we would have given this park a perfect rating. We will definitely visit this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is in the pines on the shores of a lake. There is a small beach and a boat ramp. The bathrooms were old and a little buggy, but there was hot water. The sites are paved with asphalt. Ours was a bit narrow but there were a lot of rigs much bigger than ours around, so they may vary in width. It does look like a popular party place, and we had to clean up our site (beer cans, cigarette butts, various detritus) before I felt comfortable sitting outside. It poured early the next morning and the amount of standing water indicated that it's really in a low-lying area, i.e., the dump station area was full of water. We camped here in a Motorhome.
