We were on an end site that had hardly no room to park our tow car. At times I had to park it at the bathroom site. No pool available, I felt for the price that we paid for the site was a little steep, bathrooms and showers were clean. Our overall stay was okay if I couldn't get into any other park we would come back to stay at this one. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground staff is friendly and helpful. We arrived asking for a new site since I made the mistake of booking the wrong type of site and did not realize this. The woman at the front quickly gave us a new site and we were off. The sites are level and easy to hook up to with a lot off space. They are pricey but we had to remember we were in a tourist town and the hotels were far more outrageous. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Bring plenty of bug spray as the mosquitoes arrive in hordes as the sun goes down. We would stay here again if we were to decide to go to Bar Harbor again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were disappointed because there was no pool on the grounds. You had to drive a mile and a half down the road to KOA Woodlands to use the pool. It is advertised as pool access for both campgrounds which I felt was misleading. There was a sewage odor from the leech field which we would smell if the wind blew in our direction. The camp sites close to the field complained. Hope they resolve the problem. Staff was friendly. We would return if we were there in the spring or fall but not in the summer since we enjoy a pool. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Campground is in an excellent location. Bathrooms need work, kind of grungy even after cleaning. Honey wagon forgot to come by and empty my tanks, I wasn't charged for it, but really needed them dumped that day. My biggest gripe is that I made these reservations a full six months out and they put me in the most uneven site I've ever seen. I was supposed to be next to my father's rig and at check-in was told that I was, but this wasn't so either. No biggie, I can walk a hundred yards. The problem was the site itself. I gave it my best but could not get level. Took them 1 1/2 hours to get me a slightly more level site even though I pointed out plenty of level, empty ones. When told they were booked I took note. No one moved into them the 4 nights I was here. The staff is friendly enough and you can't beat the free shuttles taking you everywhere, but I feel with a six month reservation at a campground that was never more than 3/4 full during my stay, that I could have been granted a better site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff were very nice. We got a spot near the water where there is no Wi-Fi, no sewer hookup and no cell phone reception. They have a dog park, but it is very tiny (my guess is about 40 feet by 20 feet). Dogs aren't allowed in any of the buildings, including the office. You cannot actually access the water where we were. There were bushes and large rocks between the RVs and the water. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has a friendly and accommodating staff. Our site was located within 20 feet of the bay. Level, clean and a sunny site. It was fun to watch the seals from the window of the motorhome or the picnic table. The daily fish fry and lobster fest says Maine all over it. Transportation to the National Park is available for those who do not want to drive into Bar Harbor. I would recommend this campground to friends. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground provided an excellent view, staff was friendly, site was level and the park as a whole is very pet friendly. Great location. The reason for a lower rating is due to a lack of communication. We had a confirmed reservation for a: "Your Campsite Back-in, Water/Electric, 30 amp, Cable, Wi-Fi. Beautiful campsites with water/electric service, cable TV & Wi-Fi at no charge." However on arrival we were told they do not have cable TV. Staff, although friendly, wouldn't even look at our confirmation email. Said the web site is confusing. Included our concerns in a "rate your stay" email as well as an email to KOA to remove cable TV from their reservations. Still not done a month later and no contact from them either. Great campground, however no follow-up on concerns. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We were lucky enough to snag a coveted waterfront site when we stayed here, but unfortunately for only two nights. The alternatives available after we had to move, were weak enough that we decided to change campgrounds instead of taking a poor site. Seafront sites have no sewer, but a “honey wagon” is available for a reasonable cost ($7 for one tank and $12 for both). Our oceanfront site was truly delightful, with the sea, tides, birds and shrubs making us feel quite disconnected from the rest of the large campground. There is something about this park that seems to encourage a friendly interaction among campers that we enjoyed a lot. Dog owners (which we aren’t) will really like the enclosed run that allows friendly dogs to frolic without leashes. The middle of the park lobster pound was another feature that we thought added to the Maine ambiance. We would stay here again if we could get the right site. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I liked this KOA but there are some issues to be dealt with. Probably the most notable is that some of the sites are very out of level. We were in site #112 and to level the coach our front tires were completely off the ground. The sites are also not very big. Due to the length of the site we were very close to the row of rigs behind us and we nearly touched the back of our neighbors rig (we have a 35' motor home). A few of the sites are lower than the road and one across the road was in 6" of standing water after a night of rain. None of the sites close to the water can have sewer. In fact no sewer sites are within 250' of the water. However all of the sites have at least a partial view of the water. A very nice dog run is fenced a gives them a chance to run and play off leash. It is a bit pricey here, but so are most KOA camp grounds. Good activities for kids though. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

10% discounted rate. Assigned a site in the 215-220 row but it was six inches out of level to the side. Had to pay $10 more for one of the improved sites with gravel and sewer in the 118-122 row. I suggest that motorhomes without levelers examine site before accepting it. The previous two reviews are accurate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I have a love/hate for this park. I love everything about it and hate to share the review because it might be hard to get a space once word spreads. We decided to stay here for one night after being depressed at the "atmosphere" of the previous campground we were at. I wish I would have known about this campground to begin with. I loved the ocean view. We were not directly on the ocean but a few sites back in a "partial" view and it was just as good as ocean front. There really isn't a bad spot in the whole park and you can take your lawn chairs to the oceans edge for viewing and relaxing. Wonderful social events for the kids. Fantastic dog park for the furry buddies to exercise. New playground equipment but watch out for those hot slides in the summer. Store was small but stocked with plenty of essentials and the camp host and all the workers made the vacation so wonderful. They all were charming and fun. There were so many nice activities for kids of all ages. Loved the on site Lobster dinner. 40 bucks for two meals. You can't beat that. We didn't get to stay for the Sunday pancake breakfast but I'll make sure to do that next year. Kids loved when the tide went out leaving behind lots of sea creatures in the tide pools. You could spend hours exploring them. Laundry rooms was clean and the park grounds are spotless. The only thing that could make this park a perfect park is the addition of a swimming pool- you can use the one at the sister site. I really enjoyed staying here and will do so in the future. Just staring at the ocean for hours from our site was better than any 5 star hotel. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was a great park and the campground host we worked with the most was great. She booked our reservation and provided a wealth of info for out visit. The park had everything. Location, waterfront, activities, and more. When we arrived, a motorcoach on one side of us was parked at an angle, partially in our space. The travel trailer on the other side was parked in their space, but extended their slide outs into our space, and had their visiting friends park their vehicles in our space. Needless to say, we were only able to use about half of our space. We paid a premium rate for a nice waterfront site, but we were unable to extend our awning or put our chairs out for the first three days of our five day visit. The KOA campground hosts should have taken it upon themselves to correct this problem prior to our arrival. The only other issue was the repetitive failure of the Wi-Fi router. The park deserves a 10 rating, but we can't give them one for this visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is a true jewel! The only reason I didn't rate it as a 10, is that $95/nt for any campground is too much, IMO. We had site 344 which is right on the ocean, with plenty of room to spread out. Campsites just do not get any better than this! There are a whole row of sites right on the ocean and even the Ocean View sites, which are a row back, are nice, but still pricy at $89/nt. As other reviewers have noted, the lobster man is there every night, steaming up fresh lobsters for dinner. It's a great deal at $40 dinner for two. Acadia NP is a short drive from the CG and the park is not to be missed. Spectacular! We will be back next year, as long as we can manage to secure a similar ocean front site again. GREAT place! We absolutely loved the park. We had an awesome view and the other campers were super. Enjoy clamming, kayaking or just kicking back. We will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really like this campground and try to visit more than once a year. When you arrive, if you don't get the type of site you wanted, just wait until the next morning and watch for those that are opening up. Put a chair or a "TAKEN" sign (available at the office) on the new site and move your rig immediately. We like the sites at the "back" of the campground overlooking the water, near the laundry and huge wild blueberry patch. There are nice pull through sites near the office, but we have found these are far from level and often require extra blocks. Pool is advertised as "heated" but always very chilly. Bring your own beach chair to the pool; there is almost no seating available otherwise. The price for the park is very reasonable for the area; it is a short drive to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor; and the free bus makes half hourly pickups at the park entrance: dogs and bikes are permitted on the bus! If you're in Bar Harbor, this is a great place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We've been traveling across country for over six weeks (and six weeks to go). We only make reservations a few days in advance, but ending up in a beautiful national park, Acadia, with the advent of the 4th of July had us scared. For once, not taking reservations, this park allowed us to camp since it's first come, first served. Our site was under a shade tree, without a view, and somewhat slanted. Our jack hitch was to it's lowest setting to get us level front to back. This park is the closest to Bar Harbor, is family friendly, and we paid $40/night for full 30-amp hook-ups (a few 50-amp sites are available as well), staying 6 nights gets you the 7th one free. Good security, and I've heard from a former employee that they don't tolerate any loud noises during their quiet hours - maybe one warning, and then you're escorted out, so it is very peaceful at night. There are a variety of sites from ocean views, under a dense tree canopy, and even out in the open. Most of the interior roads are paved, as well as some sites; the rest is coarse gravel. I'd stay here in a heart beat again if it wasn't so far from San Diego! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Great location to do your Acadia NP excursions. Road from Bangor to this park is under construction in a few spots. Resulting in slow, rough and narrow travel. Roads in the campground were a little narrow and required an alert mind. Campground is basically an open grass field with very few sites being level but with a great view. Counter staff was very helpful all the time. WiFi was excellent. Will look for another campground in the area as cost was a little much for this early in the season. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We made reservations here months in advance, hoping for a view of the water. We were disappointed after checking in because our site only had a view of the group camping in front of us. It took three trips to the office trying to get the clerk to let us have a different spot closer to the water. The park is ok but it is no way worth the price. The showers are spotless; the laundry is nice. Our spot had a nice view but it was on unlevel grass and mud. We would check out other campgrounds if we returned to the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Where we stayed on the water, this place is a 10. Convenient to Acadia and other Mt. Desert locations. They cook lobster every night and the pie lady comes through and sells pies out of the back of her station wagon: outstanding! The Wi-Fi is strong. Cable RV would have been nice for this price. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We loved it here. We had two different sites at this park. The first two nights were were at site #268, which is classified as "ocean view." We were amazed to find that we had a full ocean view, and could walk out to the ocean by just walking a few campsites down. The second site was #340, which is classified as "ocean side", and was a spectacular site right on the ocean. We had sort of a terrace tight at the water's edge where we could put our chairs and relax. We bought the on site lobster dinner one night and it was fabulous. Blueberry pancake breakfast was great. No pool or cable; access is available at the "Woodlands" park up the road. The Island Explorer free bus system has a stop right inside the entrance to this park, which was very convenient to getting to Acadia. The only reason I did not rate this park a 10 is because there were not enough showers near our first site. There was a line both mornings. An employee was very graciously offering golf cart rides over to the bigger bath house, which was nice, but I still thought that particular bathhouse needs to be expanded. Once we moved to our second spot, and used that bathhouse, there was no problem. There were plenty of bathrooms/showers in the bigger bathhouse. Both bathhouses were very clean. There are no sewer hookups allowed near the ocean, so plan to use their pump-out service if needed. We cannot wait to return to this KOA. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

There are two sections of this campground: actually two "separate" campgrounds, about 2 miles apart. The "woodlands" section is wooded and quite crowded: sites are very tight! We spoke to campers who said they would only camp on the "ocean" section. We were three sites back from the water and the view was excellent. There is a lot to do here. They have a lobster dinner each night that is comparable to the local lobster pounds. Need to look carefully at the map and know which site you have. We would definitely stay there again. Kayak rentals are cheaper in Acadia park where the waterway is on a lake, but if you want to kayak on the bay, then it is very easy here. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I’m partial to this campground because I like a small, clean, waterfront campground. The staff is very nice and helpful, the bathrooms are clean, the laundry room is clean, the showers are unisex, single showers and clean, the bus stops at the office. You can also book whale watching trips and other activities at the office and receive a discount. The view is beautiful and we saw seals several times from the shoreline. In 2008, they built a small but nice off-leash dog park. The downside for a family with kids is the location lacks a pool, however, you can take the bus or drive over to the woodlands location and use their pool free. The price is steep, especially if you wish to be waterfront. Our site was not level and quite “buggy”. The mosquitoes in Maine are bad everywhere, however, this location seems to have a high population of bugs. If you are on the waterfront, the breeze helps alleviate the Mosquitoes issue. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was ocean front. That's why its so high in price. The ocean front sites have only water and electric and no sewer. To my wife and I that didn't matter. Just the view of the water, the seals and other aquatic wildlife is worth the price. A "chuck wagon" has daily specials from succulent lobster to pancake breakfasts. Small playground, laundry area and a small motorized train that cruises the campground for all ages to ride. Free trolleys that take you anywhere you need to go on the island. Something for everyone at the Bar Harbor KOA. We will definitely return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice location. Horrible insect problem. Mosquito's everywhere. We couldn't even sit outside. It was like swarms of them. Nice kids playground and the train ride was fun. Some of the spots require 4 wheel drive if it rains. The Wi-Fi is iffy at best. They have spots packed in so tight you wouldn't think there was space for an RV and yep, that's your spot. We moved sites and were one of only 2 campers on a 20 sight stretch, but somehow they assigned the site next two us to the next RV that came in. Why? they were all the same size options and all open grassy sites. They should have spaced it out. If it wasn't for the bugs I would stay there again, but it is just ridiculous how horrible the infestation was, and we have camped from Alabama to ME and this is the only place I couldn't stand to be outside. Not sure if they could spray our do something about them We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We stayed here four nights. This has to be one of my favorite KOA campgrounds. The views are beautiful, particularly if you have a water view lot or one nearby. There is lots to do, including a blueberry pancake breakfast (for a small fee), a lobster dinner (lobster steamed right in front of your eyes which you can eat there or take to your rv), and all of the typical KOA activities such as tye dyed shirts. They escort you to your site. Some sites are very unlevel though, but ours was ok. Convenient free shuttle to Acadia National Park and town of Bar Harbor. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We reserved a waterfront site and what a great decision! This campground was the fifth we stayed in on this trip and our favorite. After a stressful day, we enjoyed the onsite lobster dinner. We will be back next year... We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Staff was friendly, and we lucked out by not getting a floodable site. As with much of Maine (I think), the main problem was the mosquitoes -- we could never sit at the picnic table or lounge outside. We had a good site and will be back next year. The hi-light of staying here (or in many of the campsites and motels) was the free shuttle service in and out of Bar Harbor and all over Acadia. We parked our truck and could have gone everywhere on shuttles. What a beautiful part of New England, and this KOA was a nice place to stay. You will get a better deal on Lobster (if you don't mind eating out) at Gaylin's in Bar Harbor before 6 pm. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived and were greeted warmly by staff. Although they were scheduled to close the office for the night, we were escorted to our site. It has been mentioned that sites are not level, and that was the case with us. We didn't find it too difficult to set up, however. There are some sites that were sitting low in a rain storm, and got very wet. The staff came over with pumps to clear out water. Pancake breakfasts twice a week! Restrooms very clean! We will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent campground. Camped right on the water and had beautiful sunsets. Lobster and pancakes cooked on site. Free city shuttle right to the front door. It also helped that we had excellent weather the whole time we were there. It was expensive but worth it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Something just isn’t right at this campground, which we think could really be a nice place to stop. We stayed here a week with a fifth wheel toy hauler. When we made our reservations we discussed sites using the site map and what the employee told us was available. For a whole week we needed full hookups and the campground is limited on these with none available by the waterfront. The first site was so small, behind us was a pickup truck with a slide in that had the fire pit where the back of my RV would be. That didn’t work and we were shown other sites available and picked one that was fairly level. Some of the sites are terribly off level and it would seem some work could be done to make them more attractive. We watched, during the week, many RV’s come in and escorted to their site to look at it and then jockey around looking for another site. It seems the worse sites are the ones they want to put you in. One site next to the bathrooms was a mosquito ridden area with no view and several people backed in and before setting up pulled out. The hosts that work there are very friendly and that should not reflect on how the campground is maintained. The second day, a large bus came in with and a “tent city” was setup in one section with a busload of pedal bikers and kayakers that would be there for several days. Needless to say, the bathrooms were very busy. The lobster man, mentioned in other reviews, was there but not doing much business. You have to supply your own plates and butter. For $ 36 you get two small lobsters, two ears of corn, two cole slaws and that’s it. We opted to buy a pan at Walmart for 20 dollars and bought lobsters at a lobster pound nearby for 24 dollars and they were bigger. We camped here in a Motorhome.

In general my wife and I were quite pleased with this campground. It is in an excellent location with spectacular views. The sites however are quite small and "there isn't a level site in the place" to quote the gentleman who escorted us to our site. We arrived after dark so this service was much appreciated. We found all of the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The Sunday morning pancake breakfast was very nice, allowing us a chance to meet and chat with other campers. The rates are high but this seems to be a KOA feature. We camped here in a Motorhome.

What a fun place to stay!!! The staff are fun and helpful; we enjoyed a blueberry pancake breakfast they offered on Saturday morning. There's lots of places to walk and view the north end of Mt Desert Island, which is beautiful! We appreciated being able to use the free shuttle bus to visit the city of Bar Harbor; and to catch other tour buses from there to Acadia Nat'l Park. And since the shuttle stops at other campgrounds, we were able to see that we were glad we stayed at THIS one!! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Our "deluxe ocean front site" that we booked in April for an August visit was poor. We overlooked a small finger of the bay and had a great up close view of the Trenton bridge that everyone must use to enter and exit Bar Harbor and all of Mt. Desert Island. Lots of highway traffic noise! Other sites were very close together in an open field without any trees. Some so close that awnings could not be opened up. On the bright side it was clean and lots of staff to answer questions. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Another parking lot camping! Really amazing to see how the KOA is more and more about the number of sites as opposed to the quality!. We had a "Deluxe W/E Oceanfront/Oceanview". For me, Oceanview/Oceanfront means that I see only water in front of me and not the Maine main land at less then a mile!. The site was very small, barely enough again for the trailer and the awning. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first trip to Bar Harbor and we absolutely loved it. We could not have selected a better campground. Our site was on the beach and we had absolutely breathtaking views of the sunset every night. We do not have children, but there were many activities for the children to participate in. Full-hook up is not available on the waterfront sites, but there is a "honey-wagon" that will come and empty your tanks. This KOA does not have a pool at it's location, but you can use the pool at the sister KOA down the road. The winds picked up in the evenings for an hour or so, but after the sunset the winds calmed down and it was quite pleasant being outside. All of the campers were very friendly and we enjoyed taking walks around the campground and talking with our fellow campers. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. This campground is definitely on the expensive side, but very well worth it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Our favorite KOA second only to Sugarloaf Key KOA Florida. We come back every year and enjoy a waterfront site that showcases harbor seals and many types of sea birds. Paved roads, helpful and friendly staff. LL Bean sponsors shuttle to city of Bar Harbor as well throughout the whole Isle of Mt. Desert. Great kids program. This is a corporate owned KOA and they do it right! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We lucked out with a pull-through site, corner lot, right across from the beach access, with a beautiful view of the bay. Our fellow campers were all very friendly, with an interesting mix of Americans (from as far as FL and MI) and Canadians (many from Quebec). We found the campground to be exceptionally quiet and peaceful, and our kids had a great time on the pebble beach. Beautiful sunsets also. Free buses run continuously to other points on Mt. Desert Island, notably Acadia and Bar Harbor. We drove to the top of Cadillac Mtn, and experienced the breathtaking views of the ocean all around us. We did a 2-hour lobster boat tour (the Lulu) out of Bar Harbor, pulling up some lobster traps and seeing seals near the light house. There is so much to do and see in Acadia, and the KOA was a nice home base. We'd love to come back here again some day. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We were extremely disappointed to find that our deluxe waterfront/water view site was 2 rows back from the bay with non premium sites in the row in front of us (This site was reserved in January). It was classified as a deluxe water site because if the site in front of ours was not occupied you could see the bay. Incidentally the row in front was not considered premium since it could only fit a 24 foot trailer, but it still had a water view. The campground did refund our deposit. Be very careful about what site you get since the deluxe sites are $84 plus a night and only include water and electric. We will stay at Blackwoods in Acadia since it also doesn't have a water view but is only $18/night. We will NEVER try this campground again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This review is to make it clear that there are 2 KOA Bar Harbors. The main park is this one, on the water and it looks wonderful. Great location. The other (Woodlands)is 2 miles down the road and deep in the woods and does not compare in anyway. It does have wifi and cable, but there any benefit ends. It is definitely the poor relation although the rates are still sky high. Be really sure that you want to go to KOA Woodlands - we never would again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

A little pricey. We had an ocean view (sort of), not ocean front and site was $50, less 10% KOA discount. We had to use our levelers and it looked like most people had to as well. The ocean front sites were spectacular. Hard to find the site - we were not escorted and ended up parking in the wrong spot. Excellent wifi service. Reservations are kind of confusing because the Woodlands campground is part of the same business. We wanted the non-Woodlands campground in order to be a little closer to the Nova Scotia ferry. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This CG is expensive at $65.00 per night but worth it! We were right on the Western Bay of the Atlantic Ocean. Beautiful scenery every time we stepped out of our camper. During low tide you’re able to walk far out along the rocks looking at all the “sea creatures” that you can find. More of a high end CG probably because of the cost. There were quite a few large motorhomes and 5th wheels in the park. I don’t think there were any seasonal campers. Well stocked store and extremely clean bathrooms. The bathrooms and individual showers had piped-in music and foam soap dispensers in each stall. Never saw this before. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful when asking questions about the area for sightseeing and eating. There was a shuttle bus that came right to the CG and it would take you to different parts of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This would be an especially nice perk if you had a motorhome and did not have a car to travel around in. Overall, I would highly recommend this CG. I seldom give a CG a “10” rating but I think this one deserves it! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Without a doubt the nicest campground I have ever camped! We had the "Deluxe Oceanfront" site. It cost a few more dollars but waking up to the sound of the ocean was priceless! Very nice and friendly people and of course great lobsters! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at the Bar Harbor KOA and were thrilled with the service and the location! We stayed here after a terrible experience at a different campground and were welcomed with open arms. Staff were friendly and accommodating and helped us with everything we needed. We thought the rates were a little high at first, but it was well worth it! The restrooms and showers were very clean and we will definitely go back here when we visit Acadia National Park again! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Don’t be fooled: there are 2 KOAs in the area, and this is NOT the one with TV, WIFI and a pool. If you want those amenities, go for Bar Harbour Woodlands KOA. This is a nice enough, standard KOA which would have rated a 7 had it not been for the ridiculous $64 nightly charge for a 3-way hookup requiring a 20 foot sewer hose. I know it’s Bar Harbor and the area was founded by the wealthy, but most other parks here offer much more sensible rates. Washrooms were very clean and quite nicely configured, the staff was very friendly, and as with all other parks here, it’s served by an efficient, free shuttle bus service to downtown. Altogether a good CG which should charge about half what it does. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Terrific oceanfront campground with direct access to oceanfront. Lots of exploring for children and adults, close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We would definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for almost a week, Got lucky & caught a site right on the water only calling 4 days before. The reviews on this place are so true! Let me metion the Bluberry Pie Wagon..YUM!! Free Shuttle service around The Island & Lots of great Lobster, One place even delivers the Lobsters to your site. Had the honey wagon Stop by every other day (3kids) & I left a tip taped to the Valves. It was never accepted!! Try that in NJ...lol We camped here in a Motorhome.

Spotless bathrooms. Beautiful views. The kids had a blast along the shore and kayaking in the bay. Outdoor movies, pancake breakfasts, ice cream socials kept us all busy and stuffed. Convenient free bus service throughout the island from in front of the store. Absolutely one of our favorites with some lasting memories. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Very nice campground. Some of the nicest people both working and camping we have met since camping. We had a really nice site looking out over the water. They have some nice activities for the kids. Outdoor movies, pancake breakfasts etc... Great location to all activities. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice and very clean campground. They escort you to your site and give you boards for leveling. We had great seafood at Beals in Southwest Harbor. We loved the oceanarium touch tank, learning about and holding sea cucumbers, star fish, sea urchins, horseshoecrabs, snails and sand dollars. We have been to many touch tanks but learned the most and enjoyed this one the best. We also enjoyed the lobster hatchery. A highlight of the trip was going kayaking at the campground and seeing the seals. I highly recommend it. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park with great views. Great park to stay in while visiting Acadia National Park. Kayak rental on-site as well as an Arcade and very nice playground for the kids. Many of the site are wide open so both satellite TV and Satellite internet work well. I see that previous reviews listed the park having WiFi, but I don't recall seeing a WiFi signal at my site. I did see an Internet booth near the office. (Maybe the WiFi works up there. ) Staff was always friendly and helpful, some paved roads and some gravel. The sites were gravel and grass. We would stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground is very clean and well maintained. Nice playground and game room for the kids. Clean showers/bathrooms and laundry room. My only complaint is the sites are not very private or big. It is kind of like camping in someone's back yard. However, overall good experience. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A really nice park. The LLBean shuttle is free and takes you were ever you want to go for free and leaves very frequently. Employees are great; there is an escort to your site who carries their own leveling blocks. "Honey wagon" is expensive ($30.00). Lots of mosquitoes. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very easy access to all sites on Mt. Desert Island. Super friendly staff and beautiful scenery & waterfront location. Evenings walking around the rocks near the water was wonderful. The bathrooms have to be the cleanest, nicest we've seen. We'll definitely stay here again on a return visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground for a commercial one. It is very well managed and the staff is extremely friendly, eager to please and helpful. The restrooms are modern and kept very clean. The campstore is well stocked. Location is good (first campground when you get on Mount Desert Island). The water views are wonderful and the bay is only minimally impacted by the tides (so your not looking at a mud pit half the day). I highly recommend this campground. This a great campground for easy access to Bar Harbor. The sites are large and the park has a great layout. The transportation system will pick you up at the campground and take you to Acadia National Park and the town of Bar Harbor. Camped here in August of 2003. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed for one week (week of July 4th) at this campground and it was simply beautiful. We had a spot on the water which made it unforgettable--however, it was pure luck that we got the spot, they recently were purchased by KOA and moved some sights around so when I called in Jan. there happened to be one available. Restrooms were sparkling, people staying at the campground were extremely nice. Sunsets over the water were unfortettable. We'll definitely be back (in spite of the lonnngg drive from Ohio). We camped here in a camper.

We stayed for one week here in August 2012. Unfortunately, as I pulled into the campground, I got the trailer hung up on one of the large grey rocks lining the driveway in front of the office. It was in the shade and I didn't notice it as I should have. The maintenance crew was outstanding and came out with boards to build a ramp for me to get the axle over the rock. What a help! They even escorted me to a site for my trailer and helped me back in. As a mom on her own with 2 kids, I really appreciated the extra help. We had a wonderfully-quiet spot (K-18). Although there was no sewer service, we were very happy to trade off the quiet and extra space with having to use our dump tank. I thought the sewer sites were rather closely spaced, but our spot was divine. We picked wild blueberries on the hillside each evening for the next morning's pancakes and took the very convenient bus into Bar Harbor or Acadia each day. We took our bikes most days, and it was very easy to load them on the bus. The CG was very well maintained, bathrooms were clean with no long waits each evening. The guests were pleasant, no rowdiness that we observed. We will definitely return, but perhaps earlier than the 2nd week of August--it turned out to be the peak vacation week for the area. Can't wait to return! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Enjoyed our stay here very much. No credit cards but they accept US checks. No reservations but a big place and we saw empty sites go unused, so don't be discouraged about trying. Excellent location next to Acadia with free Explorer bus. Wi-Fi inside our RV. Got 8 channels on our antenna. Lots of variety and you pick your own site location. Our backin site was very woodsy with a fire ring. We noticed sign at office for lobster dinner delivered to your site and enjoyed that one evening, arrived right on time. Up the hill (required driving because it's a big place) there is a pool, laundry, play area all with a great view of the bay. Laundry a very reasonable $1 each for washing or drying, with lots of machines. This is a peaceful family place with friendly office folks and everything you need at a great rate for coastal Maine. Would stay again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

What's not to like? Sun or shade sites, view or not. Good space between sites. Great facilities. Walking distance to restaurant, ice cream, lobster pound, and camp store. Reasonable rates for the area. Wi-Fi worked great. We will stay here again the next time. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park, we stayed here on the last weekend. It was very quiet and clean. Despite not having waterfront the ocean views are great. A wide variety of site choices, FYI no reservations allowed 1st come 1st get. We will definitely be back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is different I'll say that. First, you pick out your campsite and then you have to come back to the office to pay. On the subject of paying they only take cash which is also unusual. The sites out on the hill where you can get satellite TV reception are not level. We had to try a couple to find one I could level up on. The sewer connection is at the far back of the site--so my 20 foot sewer hose would not come close to reaching it. The laundry room closes at 8PM. The manager was in the laundry room at 7:30PM to remind us it closes at 8PM. As though we couldn't read the 8 different signs inside and outside the laundry building about closing time! Also, there are no exit signs in this large meandering campground with many loops. Try driving out after dark on a drippy and foggy evening like we did. On a positive note, the campground is quiet inside and out (there are no noisy roads, freeways or trains nearby). The campground is in a nice setting and many of the back-in sites are in the woods which is nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoy this campground very much and return once or twice a year for two or three weeks. Contrary to a previous reviewer, we find there are plenty of level sites for big rigs. We prefer the WES sites at the rear of the campground overlooking the water and the blueberry field. However, this year we moved for a couple of days to one of the X sites near the office during tropical storm Irene, where we felt sheltered from the wind. The lower sites are not level but with a little effort, they become satisfactory -- and the advantage is 50 amp service for a big rig. I always rate this campground five stars, but this year I feel compelled to comment about the general rudeness of the worker who chastised a very nice couple in a very humiliating way about a few barks (just yips, really) from their dog. It was totally uncalled for and made a number of us who overheard the exchange feel angry and uncomfortable. I have met this same couple at the campground in previous years and have always found them to be courteous and responsible when it comes to controlling their dog -- but I doubt they will return in the future. Really a shame and I hope the management of the park takes note. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No reservations and pick your own site does not always work well when you camp in a large motorhome. Bar Harbor campground has very limited level sites for large motorhomes . We were kind of lucky that we came in after hurricane Irene and that the park was basically abandoned. Otherwise it would have been very hard to find a spot to park a 40ft motorhome. This campground is in a great location with wide overlooks on the bay. It is very serene, peaceful and quite. It just happened that a neighbor parked next to us that had to run their very loud roof fan 24/7. There was absolutely no need for AC or heat. I asked them if there was something they could do about this and they were just very snooty about it. After this confrontation, I went to the office and asked if they could do something about it since they have a big sign next to the door saying ‘’ for any disturbing noise you will be asked to leave “. According to the staff nothing could be done about that. I really felt sorry for the guy on the other side in his pop-up. They offered us to look for another site, but without reservation and pick your own site we could have done that ourselves. Luckily these people left after 3 days, so the serenity and quite came back. I liked the place a lot, just had a rather bad experience that I thought the staff could have been a lot more helpful about it. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Had a nice site at B-20 very private and large. Shady conditions. Pool was in good shape and staff were great. Shuttle bus was nice and good area to explore. Bar Harbor is a nice place with many shops and good prices overall. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great campground. We camped here with our grand kids, who loved it. We had one of the pull throughs near the office and at least there the Wi-Fi worked well. The kids loved the playground, pool and their meadow that had tons of ripe blue berries. It was a walk from the pull through site area for larger rigs up to the pool and playground. The kids loved the walk and we got great exercise. I looked in the restrooms and they were clean and neat. The Bar Harbor trolley stops at this campground. In 10 minutes you can be at the Acadia NP visitors center and in 20 minutes you can be in downtown Bar Harbor. They don't take reservations which turned out to be OK, since when we decided to stay another day we knew we could just stay on our spot. We would look forward to stating there again. Thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful campground! After traveling 1700 miles, it was a pleasure to drive into this charming place. Very well maintained and clean with nice views of Frenchman Bay. Very helpful and friendly staff. It was great to be able to drive around the CG and choose our own site. Good cell reception with AT&T. Pleasant dog walks which our two Bostons enjoyed! Sites are spacious and most of them shaded. We even saw a deer one evening, about 75 feet from our site, grazing in the woods! What a treat. Definitely recommend this campground and look forward to staying there again! We camped here in a Motorhome.

I like how this campground does business. No reservations. You drive through and pick your site and setup. Then you go back, register, and pay. Stay as long as you want and no one can bump you off your site. If you end up staying six nights you get the seventh night free. You do NOT have to pay for all six nights in advance to get the seventh night free. They only accept cash or checks. Nice view of the ocean from the top of the road. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I love the philosophy and history of this park. Owned for over 40 years in the same family. Takes cash/checks, no credit cards, no reservations, price the same-both season and off-season. There are a few sites with magnificent views of Frenchmans Bay. Many pull-throughs, many wooded, as flat as possible considering the location. Clean restrooms, showers, laundry. Closest park to Bar Harbor and Acadia National park. The owners and the work campers were incredibly nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again. Note: All cell service is a challenge on Mount Desert Island. Consistent cell service ends before getting on the Island in Ellsworth. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Plenty of space, clean and close to Bar Harbor. Has a rustic feel yet close to amenites. Moved easily to an ocean view campsite when it became available. WiFi was intermittent; has hot showers with good pressure, reasonably price at .25/5 minutes; clean restrooms. A wonderful vacation for us and we would definitely return to this campground. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We come here every fall and wouldn't stay anywhere else! The ocean views on top are wonderful as are the sunrises. We stay in the pull through sites, although none are 50 amp, which are nicely sized but you do need a couple leveling blocks. WiFi is now available right at your site, new this year, but cell service is iffy. This is the closest campground to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice clean park. Not fancy, but a great place to explore MDI and Acadia NP from. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. They don't take reservations so call ahead to make sure they have empty sites. This works well if you are not sure how long you want to stay, because once you are on a site you can continue to stay until you are ready to move on. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this park. While the spaces were a little closely packed for my liking, they offered the 7th night free for our stay, making the relatively high price worth it. The park smells WONDERFUL! So many pine trees offering their beautiful scent to the happy campers, and I have to say, this park is super convenient to Bar Harbor. There are FREE shuttle buses into town and around the island. Our stay was fairly quiet, and we enjoyed that the park was so close to a convenience store and ice cream parlor. The only slight minus is that the ocean view wasn't as spectacular as we hoped. Oh yeah. Almost forgot the numerous blueberry bushes that grow all over the campground. Amazing! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We come here every September and each year there are more campers. They don't take reservations and although it is a large campground, sites with full hook-ups are fewer in number. If they would only invest in more full hook-up sites, it would be a ten. The pull through sites are a bit unlevel but you can't beat the ocean views and the trails through the wild blueberry fields. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Great place to stay, we were allowed to pick our own site and found one we really liked with full hook ups. Verizon air card worked well. AT&T phone was iffy. Site was well kept. Unfortunately, our Border Collie barked at a person that did not like dogs when we were checking in and we were sternly warned against a dog barking. She was in the truck and the person walked up to the truck to quickly. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

It gad everything we wanted. It is close to the entrance of Acadia National Park, has full-hookups, beautifully wooded natural setting, well-equipped laundry facilities, helpful hosts. It was much less money than the competition. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground was nice, but we had a complaint about our dog barking so decided to leave. It was the way they confronted us about it that upset me. We were on our bicycles and the "maintenance man" chased us down in his pickup truck. We were already on the way to the office. He then started the conversation with: "This isn't the campground for you." He could have been polite. This is another campground that I don't think likes people from the south. Everyone else had dogs, and they were all unattended during the day, which was fine, but they chose to single us out. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Lots to like about this campground: reasonable rates, large sites, and location. Cash only, stay 6 nights get 7th free! Sites are large, but not a lot of fhups to pick from, but we found a nice site in the C loop. If you are a tenter- this is the campground for you, lots of nice spots to pick from. As far as location, some sites with water views (not many), but the big plus is the campground is on the shuttle bus route. A MUST way to travel, and it is free. Now, the what not to like: many sites are not level, free wifi is a joke-the only way I actually got online was at 5AM, never during the day or evening. The showers were $.25 for 5 minutes (not bad, but remember your quarters). I didn't mind their check in, drive around and pick your spot, but they don't want you to unhook near the office. We have a large motorhome w/tow, we prefer to unhook before we enter an unfamiliar campground-you never know, so we unhooked anyway. Just got a "glare" from the staff, oh well. Overall, a very good location to visit Acadia and Bar Harbor. We camped here in a Motorhome.

There are no reservations allowed in this park, but we liked being able to pull in and pick out a site we liked rather than being assigned to one. We ended up with gorgeous views of the ocean. It is also close to Acadia National Park. They do not accept credit cards, but they do have an ATM on site. We really enjoyed our stay here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the 4th year we have camped here. The CG is clean and easy to move around in. It's cash only at check in. It's a family oriented CG close to Bar Harbor. This year there were an unusual number of annoying little yappy dogs. The morning and evening serenade was a pain. Owners are not investing in anything new or any extensive maintenance. Sites need leveling, etc. While the rate is excellent, it might be time to test drive some other CG's in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice clean and quiet campground near Arcadia National Park, the sites are clean. The campground is well kept. The play ground could use a little work. They only accept cash and don't take reservations, you go in and pick a site and then pay for it. We camped there at least 10 times through the summer and fall of 2007, and we always found a nice spot. Free buses to just about anywhere in Bar Harbor and Arcadia. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The campground is a very nice campground, paved roads throughout and the sites were level. The shuttle system to Bar Harbor and Arcadia is outstanding and free. The only downside to this campground is they do not accept credit or debit cards, cash only. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay here but wish we could have had an ocean view. A sign at office states 7 day limit but the RVs near the water were there more than 7 days. Sites are first-come and you find your own spot. We couldn't find anything with full service. Most lots are unlevel but not a problem. WIFI is only assessible near the office so you must sit in your car or bench to have service. We were there during blueberry season and you can pick all the blueberries you want. Whatever you do don't disconnect your vehicle at entrance or the office will come out and get after you. Depending on the spot you find there aren't convenient disconnect spots. Would stay here again due to the proximity to Acadia. We used the park transportation--we had to sometimes wait for three buses if we got a late start (10-noon) since we were the last stop in before the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 11 days in early June. The weather was a bit cool for us but we totally loved the campground and area. We got one of the few back-in sites with clear ocean views. The ocean and mountain views are exceptional. It is not waterfront property and you cannot walk to the water. They take no reservations so you drive up and go find a space and set up. Then you go to the office and pay the people. They have WiFi at a central location up near the office. There is a TV room near the office which has cable TV service. In that same room are modem connections. Their WiFi broadcasts very well for approximately 100 feet so you can drive up, sit in the car and access the Internet if you don't want to go into the TV room. The laundry room is a separate building on the back side of the park that is impressively large, older and very well maintained. Laundry room closes at dusk. The restroom and shower facilities are very clean, but old and you have to pay for hot water. We did not use the pool although there were hardy souls using it. My cell phone (Verizon) did not work at this park and I had to drive up the road almost 3 miles to find service. There were quite a few tent campers coming in towards the end of our stay. There are camper workers who work in the office and everyone we met there was very helpful and informative. This RV park is one we would return to for an entire summer. Expensive park to stay in but well worth every penny. Our waterfront site was awesome and if your looking to be on the water this is the place for you. Kayak right from the site or simply sit and relax while watching the sunset in front of you. Want a pool or WiFi go up the street to their sister resort The Woodlands and use the facilities there. This is our 5th stay and we will go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The campground was well maintained. There were wild blueberries everywhere so we enjoyed picking them. I had a similar experience with our small dog - upon checkout this very miserable work camper insisted that Rags NEVER be left in the RV alone. It was 90 plus degrees, he is 13 years old and doesn't bark. I was ready to pick up the jacks and leave - but my husband went into the office and just agreed to take him everywhere - lip service. Really put a bad taste in my mouth and I wouldn't stay there again. Wi-fi is available in the "tv" room at the entrance to the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Really nice spot. We stayed here for 5 nights and had site T-36. It was private and wooded. Nice, level gravel spot. Very well run and nice people. We got to the campground late and there was only 1 spot remaining to accommodate my 34' rig. A great one, nonetheless. We will camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Contrary to the above reviews we found it to be pretty average or below. If you are in a tent or popup it would be wonderful with very wooded, secluded sites. The RV sites, however, are in uneven, treeless, gravel parking lots. The lady at check in was unfriendly and rude with a permanent scowl. She informed us that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES were we to EVER leave our dog unattended in our RV. (In other words, never ride your bicycles, go out to dinner, etc.) Maine has been and continues to be very dog friendly every place we have been except this campground. Lulu is even welcome in most shops downtown. We saw other campgrounds in the area that looked much nicer than this one. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful cg. The sites are spacious, the bathrooms are some of the cleanest and nicest we've seen. This cg is close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. We loved it here! Maine rocks! We can't wait to go back! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This campground is well managed. Very clean and everything is in good order. It's close to everything. They do not take reservations and we did not see this as a problem. It gave us the option to pay day by day and stay as long as we wanted to. Fees need to be paid by cash or travelers checks only. We plan on returning to this campground the next time we visit Bar Harbor. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful Campground with sites in Sun or shade, private or open water views or in the trees, enough to cater to anyones preferences. Plenty of room and clean facilities. Workampers at the desk were friendly and helpful. I liked the speed bumps to keep traffic speed way down. Clean laundry. Nice pool overlooking the bay. Another great thing about Mt Desert Island is that there are no skunks on the island and thus none to bother the campers at night :) One word of warning--avoid the nearby Log Cabin Restaurant if you value your health. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This was our first trip to Maine and I wanted the perfect campground. This was it. This is one of those rare privately owned parks that have the look and feel of a state park. The sites are spacious and the scenery beautiful. All types of sites available: shady, sunny, pull-through, tent sites. Knowing they do not take reservations, we traveled in early June to beat the rush and we had plenty of sites to chose from. Great location on Frenchman's Bay and close to all Bar Harbor attractions. We would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The heated pool was a little on the cool side for me. My husband enjoyed it though. They don't take reservations, so it is hit or miss on if they will have a space for you. The owners are very nice and helpful with area information. The scenery is spectacular. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This was one of the worst parks I ever stayed at. The site they gave us was so small we couldn't even open our awning. It smelled like sewage in the area. The staff was friendly. When I got home I complained to KOA and to KOA Bar Harbor and KOA corporation agreed that the site we had was a poor site and refunded us our money back for the week we stayed there. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This is the "other" campground of KOA that is not on the water, but 2 miles down the road deep in the woods. Roads are dirt tracks and sites are rough. 60% of sites are under a tree canopy that makes them very dark and a breeding ground for bugs.The only plus is that this park has wifi and cable, whereas the waterfront park does not and we needed the wifi.Big mistake, and one you should not make.Restrooms are in a 50 year old hut. At $60 for a site with sewer it is way over priced. It is a measure of the park manager's confidence when she said "you'd better have a look at the site before we confirm things". The place is an afterthought and way over priced. We would not return! We camped here in a Motorhome.

We can't say enough about the staff here. They were very accommodating, hard-working and friendly. We stayed here for a week in a 27' travel trailer. There are limited sites for full hookups so reserve early. Stay for a week and get the 7th night free. We stayed 4 days in the S section with full hookup which was very quiet and had to move to the A section (E and W) by the pool when we added 3 more days. That was our fault because we first booked 4 nights and then added 3 more because we liked it so much. The free bus service is very useful, but if you stay at the front of the campground in section A it can be a little annoying with buses running in and out every 15 min. They do stop running at 10 PM. Section A is a little tight, but the rest of the campground has spacious sites. The sites are grassy and mostly level. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The laundry is a little expensive at $2.50 for a wash, and the dryers are $.50. There is a honey wagon that comes to your site for $10 and a separate dump station. It can get very crowded on the weekends, so arriving on Sunday and staying a week worked great for peace and solitude. The owner is on-site and tries very hard to make you feel welcome. We would definitely come here again and stay in section S. It is very convenient to all the attractions with great lobster pound restaurants nearby. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park was was clean and staff was accommodating. I would rate however, as satisfactory. Entrance to campground is tight. It was congested during mid-day due to the close proximity of the pool and a lot of kids running around. Camp sites are lined up one after the other with not a lot of room between. Did not care for the layout. A lot of locals use this park which was a plus because they were helpful and friendly. We used our own bathroom and shower. Glancing at facilities they looked clean. Bus service to Bar Harbor was a plus. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Fabulous sites, wooded and shady. Staff amazing!!! Very helpful and knowledgeable. (We had an issue with our camper and the owners and staff were incredibly helpful!) The distance to Acadia and downtown bar harbor was convenient from Hadley Point and the campground is clean and has every thing you need! Great experience, absolutely love this place. Also a short walk and you are on the beach! I would stay here every summer if I could. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

We loved this place! We will be back! Our site was barely long enough for our 40' rig but it ended up being fine. Be sure to mention your length when you make a reservation so you get into the right site. We parked on the grass sites which turned out fine. We were in an area with 30 amp and water, no sewer. The showers were nearby and for $.50 it was not a problem. We spent 8 days there and our black tank was 35% full and our gray tank was 60% so it was completely doable. Folks that wanted there tanks pumped out were charged $10. That too seemed completely reasonable. I wanted to mention these things up front and say that in spite of these limitations, the campground was great! It is very well run and a very friendly staff and work crew. They are always mowing and out and about interacting with the campers to make them feel welcome. We got a fire ring as did most others (at no charge) and enjoyed many wonderful campfires. The swimming pool was great for the kids and I got in a couple of times which was refreshing. Free buses stop at the campground each day that go into Bar Harbor and into Acadia National Park. You can take your bike on the bus. The campground is well run, the price is right, the atmosphere is great. We will be back! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Easy to find and convenient. Level site. Unfortunately, you can have 30 amp with sewer, or 50 amp without sewer, but not 50 amp with sewer. Barely big enough site for our 40ft rig. Very quiet and pleasant. Clean and open. Friendly and helpful staff. Interior roads satisfactory. Facilities are not plentiful in this area. Inspected a couple of other RV parks, but they were even less adequate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Highly recommend this campground. We made our reservations in January for a two week stay and asked for a shaded site with full hookups. Our site was perfect. Shaded and well maintained. The whole campground was well laid out and fun to walk around. There is a site for everyone's personal needs. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere of the campground was pleasant and family friendly. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall a nice park, well laid out and convenient to all the attractions of Downeast Maine. The Wi-Fi could not reach to the D area, however. The staff members, especially the older ones, were friendly and helpful. Very nice grass sites in the center area. Showers were very nice and clean for 25 cents. The restrooms were satisfactory. I would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

The park was clean, check in was friendly, close to the national park and Bar Harbor. Reservations were for a "big rig" site, but was given a site in which my mirrors hung out into the road. When I told the office my rig would not fit they sent out an employee to help me shoehorn it into the space. The gal in the office said they have had 40' units in the site, the fellow that helped me said a unit that large could not fit. Even though they had no sewer sites available, they do have a pump out service for $10.00 per time. I wish more campgrounds would do this, it is a great idea. Fellow came around pulling a large plastic tank with a pump and hose. He was done in 10 minutes. The campground is large, but broken up into areas, included an area for group camping. The price was good value, but if you decide to go make sure they give you the physical measurement of the site reserved for you We camped here in a Motorhome.

The people that run this campground could not be any nicer or more helpful. The bathrooms and showers are spotless. The sites are very spacious and well shaded for the most part. You have to go to the laundry to use the WiFi, but they provide a nice table and chair space for it. The water is about a quarter mile away and it is spectacular. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This park was clean, near Acadia and quiet. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The sites were a bit close, but had enough room to open bump-outs easily. We stayed on pull through site #55. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed in the (s) section, which was pull through and had sewer hookups. We booked this early in the year and traveled with several other RVers. Our sites were pretty good, however fire pit and sewer placement needs some reconfiguring. WiFi was only available at the pool and laundry area and was ok at best. Pool was clean and enjoyable when we used it. This park was a very good alternative to the high priced places around Bar Harbor. We were out every day anyway exploring Acadia National Park, which is awesome. The free shuttle into the village or park was a added bonus. This feature is available throughout Bar Harbor. Hadley point waterway within walking distance, great for launching kayaks or jut having a fire on the beach at night, we did both. Staff very friendly. All in all nice place to stay at a very good price. Would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Pros; Very nice people in office, pool, public free bus service in campground to Bar Harbor, clean restrooms. Cons; Electric power very weak. Voltage was dropping below 90. Had to shut off A/C. Open field camping with perimeter trees. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For you big rig owners, this park is not the pretty view you are looking for. Large fifth wheels and Class A's are crammed in open fields with no privacy, no shade and honey wagon service for the septic. Pop ups and tents get the more typical wooded private locations. Wi-Fi is hit or miss based on your location. We were in the "C" field which is close to the office and pool area and we could not pick up the signal within the coach. The campground has a basic pool and some of the friendliest fellow campers and owners but they need more social activity ideas offered at other established campgrounds. This is a busy campground with lots of children which is perfect for families but if you are seeking a quiet peaceful picturesque setting I would look elsewhere. Hits, the pie lady who travels around selling pies/baked goods. Public transportation to nearby towns and Acadia park. Cons, horrible sites for big rig. Dirty picnic tables and small fire rings. They need to do general upgrading for the open sites. Big rigs park on the grass. There is a parking lot feel to the Class A sites which I dislike and do not consider camping. Basically it's a campground to just "sleep" in and head into town or the park for action and not a destination unto itself. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great family campground with very close access to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Office staff was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips. Nice swimming pool. Had a lovely shady site which was easy to get into and private. It was not the most level site we have ever had, but it worked out just fine. Quiet hours were well observed. Bathrooms/showers were clean as was the laundry room. Would definitely camp here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Efficient staff. Sites ranged from full shade (tents, small tent trailers) to partial shade and full sun. Full hookups were in one loop, all were in partial shade. If you had just electric and water, a honey bucket wagon was available for a fee. Wi-fi was available if you sat near office. Laundry was kept clean. Dogs were welcome. We stayed 5 days; thought the park was above average. Very busy in summer; you should call well in advance to get a site. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You can order a lobster dinner delivered to the site from nearby business. We picked up ours. It was delicious. Very friendly staff. This is our 2nd year camping at Hadleys. We enjoy the laughter of many children, as this is an affordable, family campground. The outdoor heated pool is the big attraction and is open into late evening. Wi Fi is available at no cost in the upper sites, and at the laundry room. The showers were always clean and the staff very friendly. We liked the free bus service to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Quite hour at 10pm is politely enforced, and we will be back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our site was quite roomy and backed up to a woodsy area. A bit pricey for a space without sewer, but they do offer a honey wagon service for only $8. The Wifi worked for a little while when we first got there but never again. The Shuttle bus to Bar Harbor and Acadia stops right in the park, which was very convenient. We just came back from a week visit. The campground is very well maintained, and has very friendly staff. Some of the sites are small and close to each other, especially by the pool, other sites are fairy large and private. The pool is quite nice, a very deep 12 feet, and has a diving board which my kids loved. Quiet hours were respected. There is small beach very close to the campground at the bottom of a fairly steep hill. If you stay there get a pie from the pie lady, she comes around 6:00 p.m. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed the campground, the maintenance people were excellent and the paid showers were very cleaned. We were told that there was Wi-Fi but not were our site was located which was in the field. We had to go to the laundry room to plug in which was very inconvenient and very hot during August. Even if we didn't need to plug in we were out in the open and was still warm for this time of year. Our cell service was none existent. So basically we were in the DEAD ZONE at this campground. Otherwise then these two inconveniences it was perfect. But since I have two elderly parents and couldn't communicate with them unless I left my site, I was not a happy camper! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This is a medium sized, well maintained park convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Our "S" section premium, full hookup site was shaded and level with a gravel pad and only 30 amps of power(no 50amp avail). It was a back in site that was too far from the office to get the wifi connection. One nite, we had a good lobster dinner delivered to our motorhome for only $35. It rained most of the time we where here. Our site was dry enough. The roads in the park are paved asphalt and in excellent condition, although some of the turns are a little tight. The full hookup spaces are roomy. Many other sites in the park are a tad close together. The pool was in great condition but packed with kids all day long. This is definitely a family park. We would have enjoyed it more all the campers gave up on the notion of burning wet wood. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I don't understand why this campground was relatively empty when we were there in early October. It is well kept. The Wi-Fi at our site worked well. The staff could not be more helpful, & the cost is considerably less than a chain campground not far away. There is no water view; the campground is in the trees, but that was just fine because the few days we were there were windy, & I would not want to be exposed to rig destroying salt spray. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Camping in Bar Harbor s expensive. This is one of the least expensive places near town. We paid $35 a night for water, electric, and sewer. The people at the office, and the owners could not have been more friendly and helpful. WI-FI is only available near the office. One pet peeve of mine is muddy sites. I don't think we should have to ask for this, but having done so, a maintenance person had new gravel laid down within 15 minutes, in the rain! Great place near town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This place is top notch in every way from the super staff to the beautiful grounds. The Wi-Fi is very good here. The free local bus comes right to the campground many times a day. Our only complaint would be there is not tons to do here. The local sights make that a non-issue though. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

They take credit cards! There are few parks in Maine that accept them that I almost ran out of cash. As to the park, a very nice place to stay. Staff was very helpful. Find a spot and tell them. As previously reported, the have any kind of spot you might want. Field(full sun), completely wooded or a combination of the two. Wi-Fi is only available on top of the hill, but worked well. The FREE shuttle bus stops at the campground and runs to the village green in Bar Harbor where you can connect with other shuttles for trips all over the area. A little cool for swimming, but the pool is large and well maintained. Speaking of maintenance, they are constantly doing things to the property. Looks like a full time employee devoted to it. From the prices I have seen and the conditions related of the other campground parks in the area, the is a pearl. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Convenient to Acadia NP. Shuttle bus on site on half hour. Lobster pound across road with good prices, free delivery. Office staff very helpful. Restrooms constantly monitored and kept clean. WiFi worked well in area around office. On the downside, the sites for smaller trailers like ours were close to each other and the neighbor's fire pit was almost under our window...not a lot of privacy! Big laundry with new machines. Beach was a few hundred yards away down a very steep hill! Overall a good stay from which to tour the Bar Harbour area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

When we called this campground for a reservation they asked us whether we wanted to be in the field or by trees. We chose the field. The field has very wide sites but you are literally out in a field with no privacy between sites. The sites were not level at all and, although the sites were wide, once we had people on either side of us and right in back of us, the sites started to feel very small. The sites near the trees looked a little smaller but with a bit more privacy. The pool was nice, but there were a ton of kids and it was loud and crowded all the time, so it is not a place to hang out and relax. There are also no chairs by the pool, so bring your own or prepare to sit on the ground. The showers were coin operated - $0.25 for 7 minutes. The water pressure was great, the temperature was hot, and they were pretty clean. The only problem was that the number of showers was not adequate based on the number of people staying at the campground. There was always a wait anytime I went to shower - it did not matter if it was 3 pm, 6 pm or morning. You also learn quickly to ignore the "men" and "women" signs as showers are unisex - I am not sure why they bothered to label them. The staff was very helpful and nice, although we did get admonished for going over the 5 mph speed limit. Wireless was only available near the office, but it was free (you just have to ask for an access code) and it was a very strong signal near the office. The campground is in a great location - 4 miles away from Acadia National Park and another few miles past that is the city of Bar Harbor. The buses came regularly and are free. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Our weekly rate includes sales tax for a W/E site out in the field - satellite access is important to us. We were escorted to our site, and they helped us position for best leveling. Site wasn't officially a pull-thru, but the layout was such that we used it as a pull-thru. Location is good, staff is extremely cordial, and the free shuttle bus is wonderful. DW says laundry was spotless and reasonably priced. We'd stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects weekly rate. Normal rate is $35 per night for E/W site, $40 for full hookup. Very pleasant and helpful office staff who are eager to please. Very efficient service. Lovely large immaculate swimming pool. WiFi service at some of the sites. The campground is on the Island Explorer free shuttle service to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The shuttle will pick you up at your motorhome and runs every half hour during the day. This is even better service than we received when we stayed in the Park as then the bus ran on a circular route and it took 15 minutes to get to town but 45 minutes to get home. We would definitely stay here again and in fact have extended our stay beyond what we had originally planned because of the convenience of getting around and overall sightseeing. This is a great campground for access to the Bar Harbor area. The staff was very helpful and friendly on numerous occasions. We had a wooded site with plenty of space due to the campground being pretty empty during our stay, however some of the sites we saw were pretty tight with each other. There is a great lobster delivery guy across Highway 3 that is well worth the money. We also noticed some of the other, more expensive, borning and tight campgrounds on Mount Desert Island and were very happy that we chose Hadley's Point. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

We visited this campground so that we could do some hiking in Acadia National Park. The campground is approximately 3 miles from the park entrance. We were in site #56, a pull through. While we had enough room on both sides for our slide out and our canopy, there is no privacy at all, HOWEVER, we asked for this as a Nor'easter was forecast and we did not want to be under anything that could fall on our unit. This campground has beautifully wooded sites that we normally would have asked for. The only improvement I would ask of this campground is that they put in more sewer sites. The only ones they have now are these open pull throughs. They do have honey wagon service, for a fee of $8, but it is nice to not have to wait for the wagon to come and be able to dump tanks on our own schedule. The campground was very clean, the owners very friendly and helpful, and it is located very conveniently to the park. We will definitely go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoy staying at Hadley Point Campground. Very nice family run campground. Nice and quiet at night. Great staging area for Downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Very nice sandy beach down Hadley Point Rd. Good launching point for sea kayaks. Close to Bar Harbor Airport. Hadley Point has many wooded sites. Sites are good size and can accommodate most trailers. They could use more full hookup sites. Great price for the area. We will camp there again. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

This campground makes a nice home base for touring Acadia and Bar Harbor. It is much more reasonably priced than others in the area, and only one other is closer to the Acadia Visitor Center. The shuttle bus stops right in front of the office every half hour, which is nice. We stayed in a site with full hookups. These are close together but since we spent most of our time at Acadia it didn't matter to us. If you can do without a sewer hookup there are some really nice big sites here. They have honey wagon service for $8 per visit. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Again, I am told I can get satellite but it doesn't connect. We stayed here to culminate the purpose of our trip from Alabama. That is, to eat some Maine lobster. When we asked about a good place to get lobster, we were told about a man across the road from the campground who would deliver the lobster. We actually went to his place and ordered it. He did not have any place to sit and eat so we took it back to the MH and ate it there. Total price for two lobsters, stone crab claws, and two ears of corn: $35. We priced lobster in Bar Harbor at $35 a pound. This is a pretty good place to base from to tour Acadia Nat'l Park. Saw a couple of others that might even have been better and closer to Bar Harbor. I would probably stay at one of them if I go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Owners are 3rd generation and take pride in their facility. Very family friendly, but still pleasant for adults without children like us. It's large, but grouped in separate loops with visual treed separation. The bigger loops consist of a large open field with hookups for big rigs in the center, but numerous sites around the perimeter each tucked into the trees that you back into. Very cozy. Only 15 sites have sewer hookups, but mobile service readily available. Owners and staff super friendly and accommodating. Very knowledgeable about the area. On check-in, without asking, gave us a map, told us all the must-see sites and marked them. Good location in this area. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Hadley's Point Campground has grass sites and gravel sites. Most of the roads are paved. There are some sites with full hook-ups, but most have water and electric. They accommodate groups in several areas. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Staff was very friendly. The location on Desert Island is great. That is all the positive I can say. The park is too big for the facilities. We stayed in an overflow field...about as attractive as parking at WALMART. Had to stand in line to shower and do the morning duties. Had 2 men showers for about 70 sites...Pay showeres often were cold. I will not return unless the facilities are doubled. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Warm, Friendly, Courteous staff. CG is away from busy Rt 3 so it is very quiet. Laid out in several sections with each section surrounded by trees so you don't feel like you are in a big park. At first I was disappointed that there was no waterfront but they are within walking distance to the beach. Looked at some other parks in the area with their own waterfront but they were open and crowded and noisy. Hadley's had a nice atmosphere. We definitely recommend it. We camped here in a camper.

This park has full-hookup sites with electric, water and sewer. We enjoyed visiting the Acadia National Park. It is close by. Sites are averaged size. Access roads were wide enough for our motorhome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathroom facilities were very clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Depending on what you are looking for this is an excellent park. I don't think I'd call it a "Resort Park" but as a base campground for exploring the area its perfect. With a Passport America membership we stayed for two weeks and with all taxes and fees in it was $23 a night. No problems with our 38' rig and toad, clear line of sight to the south for satellite, a 3rd party offering Wi-Fi at a reasonable price, nice views over the ocean. The bathrooms and showers were basic but very clean. The staff were super friendly. We'd stay here again in a hear beat! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Mt. Desert Narrows is operated by a group which runs two other campgrounds in the area. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since we visited very early in the season, but the grass needed mowing, many of the sites weren't ready, and the lower bath house was boarded up. The waterfront sites do not have sewer connections, and there are a limited number of sites with 50amp power. The sites are grass/dirt/a little gravel, and some appeared to be not very level. Our site, 150, had giant tire ruts, but they were far enough away from where I parked to not cause a problem. The sites are big enough to handle most any size rig. The one open bath house was clean, although the showers were quite rustic. The park is convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and guests are provided with a comprehensive packet of local guides, maps, and information. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here with a 33 foot rig. This park has full-hookup sites with electric, water and sewer. Spent a week here in late September while visiting Acadia National Park; great location for this. The free shuttle bus stops here too. Excellent restaurants close by. Sites are averaged size. Most have some view of the Frenchman’s bay. Both full sun and shaded sites are available. We had a full sun site which allowed us to enjoy the incredible night sky on Mt Desert Island. Nice laundromat with ample machines. Access roads were wide enough. The campground was very big so there were plenty of roads for walking the dog. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were given a 10 minute orientation of the area when we checked in. Bathroom facilities were average but very clean. Staff was frequently seen tending to bathrooms and campground. We recommend this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, Location is what brought us to this campground. We stayed on one of their premium sites, which cost more money. It was to be a big rig, pull-through site. This particular site had a large tree in the way which caused us to back out. Campground seem tired. Sites need gravel and dressing up. Floors in bathroom were painted and peeling. Wi-Fi is extra $$. For the money I would expect a better campground. Would check out other campgrounds if returning to this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

A little pricey but considering the location and campground amenities, it was OK. It was a typical campground with nothing that would create a lasting memory. The restrooms were OK but the tight toilet space in the main restrooms is worth noting. The restrooms near the tent area is bigger and better. The staff seemed a little inexperienced with my reservation through Reserve America. I'd stay there again even though it was a pricey campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The staff was very friendly, but sent us to a 30 amp site first. We did go to a 50 amp site next. The sites were a bit small and not very level. The water pressure was low. We were in a 40 footer and were able to squeeze in and get level. There was a great area to walk the dogs. A bit expensive for what we got. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We were some what disappointed in this campground after high expectations. The sites for RV's are extremely small and tight fitting. There were quite a number of big rig motor homes in the 40ft range. Talking to one family, I guess they give a nice discount to Family Motor Coach members. Otherwise I can't for the life of me figure why large rigs would be staying here. You have no room at your site to "set up camp" with your awning, mats, chairs etc. One set of "waterfront" sites had the fire pits about six to eight feet apart! This campground is very old with very little up dating. Our picnic table seats were four inch wide boards. Though the wash/shower rooms were clean, there is no heat in them and again in desperate need of updating. One restroom facility was already shut down for the season even though their RV sites were about 2/3s or more full. My wife and I would not stay at this campground again. If not for the friendly folks who checked us in, I probably would give the campground itself a lower rating. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground right on the ocean that we have camped in many years in a row. We shortened our stay here because it is too expensive. It seems like they are behind on their maintenance as the grass was quite long and the picnic tables were in poor shape. They are short handed so the wait in the office was longer than it should be. I'd hate to see it when they were busy. I also don't like the resort fee they tack on to your bill. The staff was courteous but not friendly. We won't stay here again, it's really too bad. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We did not actually stay here, although we had made reservations. I called and made reservations in January for a 50amp site with sewer for August arrival, and even discussed site selection with them. They told me that while they could not guarantee any of the specific sites we discussed, they did guarantee me a 50 amp site w/sewer. However, when we checked in, we were to be assigned a 30 amp site, unacceptable for the unseasonably warm temperatures they were expecting during our stay, which would allow us to only run one of our A/C units. When I protested, I was told that our reservation had been changed by an assistant manager and there was nothing that the front desk staff could do to move us and that this was not the first time such changes had been made to reservations. Nor would they let me speak to any management staff. They did eventually (after much protest) offer to send us to their sister park, Narrows Too, which had all 50amp w/sewer sites, and the staff there were very friendly & helpful, the facilities nearly new and clean, and the campsites much more spacious. Would stay at Narrows Too again, but never at Mt Desert Narrows. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Overall this is a nice campground. Initially we had booked an ocean front site, but the sites are so close together that our neighbors with kids were spilling into the site, so we asked to move elsewhere. The office staff were very accommodating and very friendly. The ocean front sites are not very water accessible and during low tide the beach is muddy, so it didn't matter to us that we weren't near the water. The view of the water from this campground is beautiful. There is shuttle bus service into Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, you can put your bike on the bus too. The staff were pretty much invisible during our stay, but we didn't stay at the campground much as there is so much to do in the area. The bathrooms/showers were clean, the pool is heated, but a bit too warm during warm weather. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great park! You are right on the free bus route to downtown Bar Harbor and throughout Acadia Natl Park. Big sites with some trees. Nice pool and laundry. Wi-Fi you pay for, Tengo. Works great. Staff was very friendly and always helpful. Clean bathrooms and showers. We liked being near the water. If we come back to the area we would stay the season at this park. Highly recommend this park for this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a large park but does not seem so as it is stretched out along the bay so that there are many waterfront sites as well as those with partial views of the water. The bay is quite shallow here though, so it is mostly rocks and seaweed at lower tide levels. The campground has been carved into a sloping and rocky terrain, but the sites are grassy and level with some shaded sites. Some of the sites on the level nearest the waterfront were pretty muddy from recent rains. There is shuttlebus service to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor, but the drive is about 20 minutes. Nice evening activities as well. We would return to this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

I could live at this campground. The view was stunning and the location was perfect. There is a free shuttle around Mount Desert Isle that allowed dogs on it. We didn't use it but it is a great service for getting to Bar Harbor and to the various points in Acadia National Park. I wouldn't camp anywhere else on MDI. The pool and playground were nice, but the playground could use some updating. The entertainment was only so-so. This is a campground that you should use as a base of operation for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. It's not full of things to do on its own. If you like entertainment self-contained in your campground, this isn't it. They do offer canoeing/kayaking off their shores for a reasonable rate and Wi-Fi is $15 for the week. It was a bit pricey, but we had a great time and would go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

There were activities most every evening and a local free shuttle to Acadia National Park as well as Bar Harbor. Well stocked store and all facilities kept both attractive and clean. Definitely would return again and again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park was clean and quiet. The sites were plenty wide but barely long enough for a larger motorhome, and they were barely level. The 50 amp electric service worked well. WI-FI is through Tengonet, and very weak at the bottom of the hill, and as posted before, cell phone signals border on being nonexistent often. There were no major issues, but we will probably not return to this campground because of the small things. There are plenty of other campgrounds in the immediate area, including one affiliate of this campground, which will more than meet our expectations. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Multiple sites had issues with stripped threads at the hose bib connection, but the maintenance staff were very responsive to provide a temporary plastic adapter. All sites are gravel but the ground was saturated from recent rains causing a muddy experience even with the grass. Cable was excellent but cell phone coverage down the hill in the campground was extreme fringe to no coverage. The laundry was clean but on the expensive side for both washers and dryers. We used this campground as a base for 7 days to explore Bar Harbor, Acadia NP, and take a lighthouse cruise tour. We camped here in a Motorhome.

The park was about 50% full on Columbus Day weekend. We had a nice site with view to the north overlooking the bay. We would have stayed longer but they closed on Tuesday. It is a good location and has good access. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We camped in Sept after school was back in session. Only a dozen or so other campers. We picked a site with a great ocean view, water and electric for under $35. Staff is great. Close to Acadia and all its attractions. This place would be very crowded at the peak of summer however. Don't bother with the Wi-Fi. TengoInternet is extremely slow and their Customer Service was less than helpful. We would stay here again in the off season. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We had a great site overlooking a bay. The staff was friendly, the campground clean, and overall we had a great time there. The "heated" pool was nice for the kids but way too cold for me. Other than that it was a good time! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I am happy to report that our weekend experience at the Mt. Desert Narrows was completely positive. We arrived Friday early evening, 6:00ish. Our camping companions had arrived earlier in the day, and the kids were already in the heated pool. We have not made reservations for the weekend for the last 5 years as the campground has never been full and space was always available. While it did seem busier this past weekend than in past years, there were still ample adjacent spots. The office originally put us in two spots with little shade but as our friends got to the sites, they paused to look. Someone on a golf cart stopped and asked if there was something they could help with. Our friends asked if the couple sites across the road under some nice shade trees were open this weekend. The person left and returned and said they are open and we were welcome to them. On the map, it's the sites 10,11, and 12. We had 11 and 12. Best non-water sites in the park. Pool was warm (perhaps a bit TOO warm) and clean. Baths were as normal, clean. Staff was friendly. There were a few changes we noticed - no complementary morning news paper delivery and since they are now open until the middle of October (they used to close after Labor Day) there was no Pajama madness Sunday night sale at the camp store. The pie lady still makes deliveries from her car, bell in hand. We had blueberry. The lobsters we picked up from the little shack just down the road were still incredible. The weather, aside from a quick 30-minute rain storm Saturday night was near perfect. We camped here in a Truck Camper.

The campground was very convenient to Acadia National Park. The sites were tight. The staff was very friendly. The truly ocean view sites are the first row along the marshes, none of which have hook ups. I called very early to book so our site was the closest one to the water with hook ups. We could not see the water. There was usually a waiting line for showers. My kids tried the pool once but it was packed. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with some beautiful spots on the water. We had a waterfront site and you should know that you won't get waves since it is in the "narrows" between the island and the mainland. But you can get some beautiful sunsets and it is great to look out over the water (it looks like a calm lake). The water recedes quite a bit when the tide goes out and the bottom is fairly muddy. The showers were very nice (especially at the larger bath house between the RV and tent secions) with plenty of hot water. Some of the stalls had some peeling paint however. The pool and playground were clean and in good shape. This is the most I have ever paid for a campsite, but I just loved to sit out and look over the water. We camped here in a Motorhome.

For those of you that have had wonderful experiences at Mt Desert Narrows prior to 2008, this is not the same place. It was sold during the winter of 2007/2008 and is under new management. I camped here as the wagon master for a group of 7 RV's from July 18 to July 25 of 2008. The problems started in late January when we had trouble making our reservations. We were finally given a special extension (220) to call for reservations and assured by their call center in NY that the 6 RV's in the group requesting premium sites, would be together. This was confirmed multiple times by people in the group calling them in the six months prior to our arrival, including a week before our arrival. When we arrived, our group was not together and management refused to put us near each other. Apparently, they had given our sites away to other campers who did not like the sites they had been assigned prior to our arrival. It gets worse. Those that did not pay in full (due to their “No Refund” policy) in January/February, were charged a $3 a night "Resort Fee" surcharge. I have no idea how they figure this average campground is a resort. Since the surcharge does not appear on their website and the surcharge was added after I made my reservations in late January, I did not feel that I should have to pay it. The workampers at the reception desk were not able to help me, but they assured me that since the "resort fee" was not being charged when I made my reservation, it would be taken off when I spoke to the Facilities Manager. His attitude was that everyone had to pay the surcharge, regardless of when you made the reservation. After you agree to pay their absorbent nightly rate in January/February, they feel they can up the rate with a surcharge. You are supposed to pay it without question. At this point I should have let my credit card company deal with it, but I had to say that I would mention all this in a review on RVParkreviews. He immediately told me I had 1 hour to leave the campground and then called the police. The police officer suggested that I just move up the street to Hadley’s Point Campground or Bar Harbor Campground. In retrospect, both would have been 1/2 the price of Mt. Desert Narrows. I was told to stop by the office on the way out and they would refund the surcharge. They did, but I still had to leave. Even though the skies were blue in the west, I packed up in a ferocious rainstorm. This ruined our vacation as the family had been looking forward all week to a planned kayaking tour which had to be curtailed. This campground has huge problems. I will never stay here again and I will not recommend this campground to anyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Just returned from this campground. I would not recommend it to anyone! For the price paid, we expected clean, great sites. The water did not work for 2 days, which means you could not wash clothes either, the site numbers on the ocean were incorrectly numbered, the pool by the end of the week was green! I would recommend you look for a different campground if considering this one. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent Campground. People are very friendly and helpful. The site was absolutely level. Power, water, Cable all excellent. WIFI works well, but is provided by a service for fee . We camped here in a Motorhome.

We spent a week and a half here. The views are great but the sites are tight. They also cater to motorhomes so our fifthwheel faced the motorhome door to door, not nice. Also this park is overpriced at best, its not a $70 (primetime) campground. The bathrooms are clean but small and there are only two, one was closed for the season. The people here are nice but are quicker to take your money than tell you there are no refunds if you don't like your site. If coming in a fifth wheel stay in sites 10B or 9A, they are a little cheaper and are just as good and even better for privacy. I would look at alternatives if I return to the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

We had been scheduled to stay a week, but due to car troubles we could only stay 3. We were told originally, when booking, it would be $70 a night but at check-in it was $80. We don't know if that was because we had to stay less time. We had a slight bay view out our passenger windows until neighbors put up a large screened-in room which completely blocked it unless you stood in the motorhome step-well. Roomy enough sites, good 50 amp, but water pressure a trickle. Would stay somewhere else if in Bar Harbor again. We camped here in a Motorhome.

I called to book at this park and was booked into their sister park of Narrows Too instead. Narrows too is more expensive than the Mt. Desert Narrows and not a scenic as Mt. Desert Narrows. They stated to us the WIFI was free upon reservation, but when we arrived we were told it would cost us additional $4.00 a day. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Nice campground. We chose to stay in a site with water and 50 amp electric right on the Mt. Desert Narrows. The sites with sewer are up the hill and we wanted to be right on the water. If you choose to do this, be sure to have jack pads since we sank in without them since it was late May and rainy. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This campground has many amenities and can be categorized as full service. They even deliver a daily newspaper to the door of your camper. They advertise Wi-Fi, but this is through a third party vendor and does entail credit card charges. The front desk staff is friendly and more than helpful. This campground is located directly on the road leading to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Thank goodness when we checked in, there were no other rv's. This place would be a nightmare due to such a small area to park your rv while registering. This campground offers many site options for every type of river. Sites that are right on Fisherman's Bay that are W/E only. Ones with view of bay that are full hook up with extended cable and just W/E. This is nice since everyone has different taste. Since we only called a day in advance, we were lucky because we got a great full hook up site overlooking the bay. I was worried because in looking at the Woodall's book, the typical site width was listed as 24ft so assumed sites were going to be very close together. On the bay, they are, however our site was very spacious pull thru - probably 45 x35. The site beside of us was position where it was more on our back side than beside of us. Staff very friendly. When I called to make the reservation, I told the person I wanted to make sure I had a site that I could see the water and she lived up to her promise. We also asked many questions of staff while there and all were friendly. Staff was on golf cars going through the campground all of the time. A paper is delivered every morning, which, to me, is a nice touch. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great location, sites a little tight but not bad. Bathroom facilities need to be updated. View is great. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place. Very clean and well kept. We had a pull through site with full hook-up's, cable TV and a phone line (for my laptop) that was very nice. There was an ocean view when the tide was in, but just a muddy sea bottom when the tide was out. This didn't bother us at all as we thought the tide coming in and out was pretty neat to see. Some might think the nightly rate to be excessive, but considering where we were, I didn't think so. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

For the amount of money they charged, I expected the type of site we requested, clean facilities and an enjoyable atmosphere. We camp in a pop-up without a/c so I requested a shady site when I made our reservation back in December. When we arrived, they gave us a full sun site, we went back to the office and reminded them we requested a shady site, we were told that it was all they had and that they wouldn't refund our money. We decided to stick it out. The next morning I waited about 30 minutes for a shower just to find that it had human waste on the wall, so I waited for another shower and it was filthy with soap scum build up. I mentioned this to an employee and he said that they have had a problem with people smearing their waste on the shower stalls and that they can't use anything strong on the walls for soap scum because the owner said it eats away at the paint. We were very careful not to touch or bump into the walls from that point on when we showered. Their brochure and website state that they are oceanfront. We only saw water for about three hours a day just before and after high tide, otherwise it was clam flats and mud. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

I never give anyone a top 10 rating as I am can almost always find room for some improvement. The staff here was top notch. The restrooms and shower facilities were also clean and above average. The waterfront sites border a beautiful cove and if the camp were full it would be difficult to get to the waters edge without crossing over an occupied site. We visited as a family of 5 (3 kids ages 9, 8 and 5) and being late in the summer season many families with children had already headed back to school. This left the park with many larger camping vehicles and retired couples. There were activities each night at the recreation center which we enjoyed when not enjoyed Acadia nighttime programs. One small drawback could be the proximity to road noise but even that wasnt too bad for most of the night. We used the pool once and it was clean and well kept. We didnt need the laundry facilities but they never appeared crowded when we passed by them. The National Park impressed us much more than our expectations and the option of using the Island Express shuttle busses (free) was a welcome treat. We will head back again at some point after exploring other parts of the US. We would not hesitate booking with this campground again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed at the "Narrows" each summer since 1996, we love camping at this campground. This is a wonderful family campground, with friendly employees and the quiet hours strictly enforced. They have hayrides each evening, nightly entertainment, and some spectacular sunset views. The Island Explorer shuttle bus picks you up and drops you off right at the campground, this is a free service that makes many stops on Mount Desert Island. Our site was a waterfront site with electric and water for $55.00 per night, they do have other sites with other amenities at different rates. The rates at the Narrows include two adults and two children. Even though we love the "Narrows", I did not rate it a perfect 10 because of the laundry facilities. It costs $2.50 to wash and $2.50 to dry a single load of clothes. They only have four single load washing machines and six stack dryers. We have two daughters that change their outfits at least two to three times a day, so we wash our clothes at a laundromat in town. If you are planning a trip to the Bar Harbor area, I suggest that you make reservations. Bar Harbor is a very popular vacation spot with many points of interest. We camped here in a camper.

Stay away from this park if you don't want to be dissapointed. It is ridiculously overpriced, no grass to speak of, the ocean is just a back bay that is nothing but a mudhole at low tide. They have a no refund policy and a policy that if you booked 5 nights you are going to pay for 5 nights. I now know why: because everyone would go to the several, lovely, resonably priced, surrounding parks and campgrounds. I guess you can tell that this review is a BIG THUMBS DOWN!!! From the advertising we were expecting a top notch place. I guess he with the largest ad gets the most inflated rating, something has to be done about the directory rating system. Loved Bar Harbor just hated this campground and would have camped elsewhere after we saw it. We camped here in a camper.

Ok campground but ocean sites were disappointing. Pull thrus large enough but not all were that level. Despite Bar Harbor location, it's overpriced. Though it was early in the season, staff was not knowledgeable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
