This is a rustic campground in a beautiful setting. It's more than a little outdated in terms of site size, restrooms, etc. The park looks like, at one time, it had a lot of care. But that is no longer true. Too bad. The river is beautiful. The road in is awful and dangerous. Maine should do better than this. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is great for anyone with a tent or small camper that wants the wilderness experience. We found the access, 9 miles of narrow & rough dirt road, unacceptable for any motorhome. It took us 45 minutes just to safely navigate the road and now are a muddy mess. I did not see any place along the road that we could turn around or even enough room to pull to the side if we met another camper. The staff were extremely friendly and I do hope for the future of this city park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
