We arrived without reservation, asked for a site that might get WiFi and were pleased to be cheerfully accommodated. Sites near the office can use the park's should have a usable connection. We had had a strong and stable connection via our WiFiRangerSky, and had a fair, useable connection direct from my Nook inside out unit. The staff was courteous and helpful. The restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access off I-95, gated entry, paved road. Lots of seasonal sites. We were here during the week and it was very quiet. You will hear the hum of traffic from I-95 but with a fan on inside at night it was not bothersome. Has a mix of open grassy sites with some shade as well as woodsy sites. If you want to be in the Wells/Ogunquit/York area and don't want to spend $50 and up to be out on Route 1, this is a good choice. You can be at Wells Beach in less than 10 minutes after a short drive on Route 1 south. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Convenient to I-95. Many local activities within driving distance, though the park itself offers few if any activities. Lots of open space for tenting groups. There seem to be no laundry facilities. Not sure about area laundromats, as we just waited to do laundry at our next stop. We'd stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a small campground but very nice. There aren't any activities, but when we go to this area we are visiting family and are not at the CG much. We did not notice much highway noise. We have stayed at other CGs in the area where you are packed in like sardines and they charge for anything they can think of. Not here though, our site was a good size and the staff was friendly. For the price you can even get cable TV. The only odd thing is that you have to send a check for the deposit and pay in cash for the rest of the balance. It is also close to so many beaches, shopping and restaurants. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Close to beach and many activities. Nice campground. Some highway noise because it's close to I95. No activities at campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Stayed one night as overnight park opened Mid April. Lots uneven, lots of trees, state of disrepair. In the middle of the campground badly run down vacation cottages. Not an impressive park. No Internet at site, no cable. Water and sewer were available. Stayed thru passport America discount. Would not stay there again. There are lots of campsites in the area. On the plus side, park is close to beaches. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We were excited for our trip but were unfortunately disappointing. The sites are tight to say the least. Showers and bathroom was dirty with no hand soap ever in our 5 days. We never once saw bathroom closed for cleaning but did see some hair in shower drain. The train that passed by and blew their whistle at least twice during the night and woke us all. Playground was enjoyed by kids. Poor weather made it easy for us to decide to leave early. The amenities in our own driveway far surpassed these. Won't be back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
PERFECT! We are seasonal camper trailer residents and absolutely love this campground. Could not be better! The owners strive to make the park better with every day: and succeed. The park is very clean and the staff is very polite and helpful when needed. The CG is located near the Rachel Carlson Wildlife Preserve and consists of beautiful tree shaded sites for cool afternoons and seasonal views. The fall is breathtaking! The seasonal campers like ourselves, welcome and enjoy the company of the weekend camper and do everything to make them feel at home and assist them with solving even the most simple camping dilemmas. Children and pets are plentiful and add to the wonderful ambience! Stop in, spend a night. You'll want to spend the season. We did and will continue to enjoy a truly awesome campground! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Moderately priced park in the woods, with nice atmosphere. We normally don't like to be in the trees to protect the roof of our motorhome, but decided that two days was OK. Was tight entry to our site winding in and through the trees in our 40' motorhome, as we followed very nice guide in golf cart. Made it OK, however. Friendly here, with stop on trolley at entrance, owner gave us (at our request) a recommendation for an excellent restaurant which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would stay here again, although we are just passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is a small campground on the trolley line on Post Road in Wells. It is a good location. Most of the sites appear to be seasonal sites and they were not well taken care of. The roads were narrow (not enough room to easily navigate my pop-up camper in the site) and had pot holes. We had friends come to visit the first night and there were so many bugs that we could not comfortably sit outside (even with the fire, citronella candles and bug spray). On the second day, we packed up and checked into a local resort motel because of the bugs! The staff is friendly and apologized when I told them we were checking out early due to the poor conditions. I stated that the river was "stagnant" and was told that I was wrong and everyone had bugs this year. I have been camping for a long time and this is the WORST campground I have been too. Spend a little more and go somewhere else! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
I had a wonderful experience camping at Riverside this year. I am a return customer from last year year and was so delighted to see the changes that were made throughout the past year. There are new owners this year, and they really seem to be improving the park. All of the people that worked there that I spoke with were friendly and helpful. They painted all of the buildings, which really gives the whole park a really nice touch. The bathrooms and showers were MUCH cleaner than last year, which was extremely nice to see as well. I have a teenager who was very excited to see that there was internet access this year, and the wi-fi was very fast. I also have two younger children who enjoy playing on the playground, and one of the new owners said that the new playground that they ordered will arrive in early September. They have a pool, which is also a nice convenience, especially for my children. They also have plans to re-do the pool which should be happening sometime later this year. They are also putting in laundry facilities this year, which will be greatly appreciated. They also have added on to the store, which only had ice cream and candy last year, and now holds many things that tent campers(as I previously was) would enjoy having. The owners went around and checked how everything was one morning, and we had a very nice conversation. Two of my children slept outside in a tent, and they said that it was quiet all night long, and that they slept straight through the night. We came on one of their busiest nights of the whole year, according to one of the women who worked in the office. I would recommend Riverside Campground to anyone, as I have to my friends, and they have already made reservations. I was very pleased with all they had to offer, and will definitely be returning next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Small CG with way to many tents (everywhere). Seasonal sites where not taken care of, some overgrown. The roads where rough with pot holes. Location is good as it is on the trolley line. It is a place to overnight if you have no choice. We where not able to book anything else due to holiday in Canada. Owners are friendly and new so you may see change. We will check in with them in a few years and see how things go. We just fit in our site. We camped here in a Motorhome.
First time camping in Maine and we stayed here with 10 other family members in three RV spots and one tent site. The staff went out of their way to reserve three adjacent slots and a tent site very close by, when we all arrived everything was ready. Very quiet, and very cool during the day with all the shade at the site despite a hot sunny day. Very conveniently located, good Wi-Fi signal, clean restrooms. Looking forward to our next visit already. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Nice clean place, lots of seasonal campers, but plenty of room for visitors. You can see the river, the park is level, nice to walk, large office with a camp store. The pool is wonderful, actually one little on for the kiddie too. There are 2 other "Sea-Vu" cg in wells, but this is the best. will go back next year. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The tenters actually get a "sea view". The bathrooms always closed for cleaning??? Clean baths are great but not if they close them for cleaning all day. It is a long walk to open bathrooms. Nice sites but no picnic table at ours. The Park clean and staff very nice. We would stay again. They have their own mini-golf that's affordable!! Secure gated campground makes you feel safe along with your belongings!! We had a good time!! We camped here in a Tent.
Park has very friendly office staff. Has wooded, level sites. No escort to the site, but they are plainly marked. Fires allowed and rings provided. Water pressure and quality good. Some road noise from US 1. A lot of 'permanent settlers' but all very well kept up. WiFi available but we had a tough time staying connected. Has beautiful ocean views. Only drawback was the ever present train rumbling close by every hour or so. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here recently and I must say the name is a little deceiving, there is no view to the sea at this campground. Our campsites were positioned in a field with not shade and not a tree to be found. The pool and all other campground amenities were located across the field and then across a busy road. The campground indicates it is secure but in the field it is not secure, anyone can just drive right in. We did not allow our children to go across the road to the pool or playground because of the traffic. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Staff very friendly and helpful. They gave us many great recommendations. Many seasonal sites but all are very neat and clean - many park models and mobile homes. Many of these sites have a nice view of the marsh and ocean beyond. Most of the rvers do not have this view. Tenters have the best views of the marsh/ocean. Sites are all back to back with pine trees. Sites are decent size - ours was about 44x35 - we have a 38ft MH and could park the toad sideways in front of the MH. Even though the sites are of decent size, due to the back to back sites, I felt very "closed in" and many "eyes" watching. This is the reason for the 7 rating, not because of anything else. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful, new park with very strong hook-ups and lots of room. Close to everything but still in the woods. Clean, friendly and one of the best in the area. would stay here again! Price reflects area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park, great location: away from hussle of Route 1 but convenient to Kennebunkport and Ogunquit. Park was very clean, staff was wonderful, pool and hot tub were great. Sites were VERY large but offered little shade. Great playground and game room. Wood and ice not overpriced. One of the cleanest campgrounds I have ever stayed. If you stay make sure to bring your bike it is the best way to get around. Traffic can be difficult so use bike or trolley service. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sea-Vu West advertises as a premier RV resort with amenities for big rigs. When we were there there were more pop-ups than big rigs. It is not premier by any means since even though the pool and playground are nice, they are not outstanding in our opinion. Price of $60 per night is an over charge for what you get. They advertise a distance from Wells Beach of over one mile. This is not correct, it is easily closer to three miles to Wells Beach. The desk staff was discourteous, there was a lot of partying and loud music on one night we were there. The fans did not work in the showers, and there are only two bathrooms for the entire campground. If they are going to allow pop-ups, they will need more bathrooms. Overall disappointed with the campground, since web site and price makes you expect a much nicer environment We camped here in a Motorhome.
Tight spaces but adequate. Stayed overnight awaiting space at Membership Campground down the road. Good TV system, water was good as well. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
As an alternative to the higher priced parks in Wells, this is acceptable. Owners very nice and helpful, which helps make up for the limited facilities. This is an older, totally wooded park, with most of the sites occupied by seasonal units. The pull-thru site we had was narrow, but we got in ok with our 30' fifth wheel. We were camping with another couple who had a 25' travel trailer. They were not able to pull forward out of their site, and had to have 2 men plus wife guide the husband as he backed out. Don't know if this is common place or not. We had our 2 adult daughters with us, but their rates are based on 4 people, so we didn't pay extra. We enjoyed our stay and would probably go back, if only to save money. Most of the other rv parks in Wells are around $50/night. Our daughter brought her car, so we only paid $29 plus tax per night, for full hookups and cable TV. If you're comfortable handling your rig and want to save money, give it a try. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
