Nice park with a great owner and very friendly staff. Concrete pads with grass. All back ins but plenty of room for our 34 ft RV. Nice small park with a small dog run. Wi-Fi didn't work very well and neither did our AT&T hotspot but our Verizon Mi-Fi worked OK. We used this park to visit Boston, Rockport, and Salem. Worked very nicely. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very nice owners, but a very small and tight park. The sights are so close together you can hear your neighbors talking inside of their RV's. Salisbury Beach is Filth with many tourist businesses boarded up. We wound up going into New Hampshire to beautiful, clean beaches. The nice owners cannot make the park larger or clean up Salisbury Beach. I would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had a nice stay. Owners are very helpful. Great security, close to the beach, a little tight pack, clean rest rooms and laundry. Pool was very nice. It is kind of close to the main road, but all in all nice. If you want to take in the beaches, this place works. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We had tow car issues and couldn't disconnect. Management shifted us to the (only) pull through and we stayed there throughout our visit, no extra charge. Owner and personnel are very friendly and helpful. Park is a bit tight, but staff helps you park. A locked gait across the entrance requires an electronic key for entrance after 8:00 pm (office closing), so we felt very secure in the park. Sites are level and have a concrete pad. Trash is picked up many times throughout the day. Laundry seems expensive compared to other parks, but the washers and dryers are much larger than most parks. There is a charge to use the showers. We found out this is the same at all the parks in the area. Very close to Salisbury beaches, Seabrook beaches (and Markey's), and Hampton beaches. I drove through 3 other parks in the area and this park has them beat hands down in almost every aspect. We will definitely stay here again. It is the ONLY park we will stay at in this area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beach Rose was a very nice campground although a little tight. The owners where outstanding in assisting you getting to and out of your site. We could not get satellite access from our site #47, however the owner came over and gave us cable to plug in for cable vision. The park did not provide discounts during our stay. We would recommend and stay at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very tightly run and clean campground. Small and quiet. No big playground or scheduled activities that I saw. Trash cans around the sites were emptied two or three times a day. Stayed 3 nights. Close to shore towns. Power was fine even through a record heat wave. Mine and all sites appeared level, with a concrete pad. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great owners that are very helpful and run a tight ship which was very nice. Very, very tight fit. Close proximity to the beach in Salisbury. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a great little RV park. Park is clean and well kept. The owners are friendly and helpful. The sites are level, the water pressure is good. Some sites might be a little tight for big rigs, but the owner will guide you into your site. Nice pool and game room. Near to local attractions. Plenty of sea food restaurants. About a mile from the beach. Train station is close enough for a day trip to Boston. The only reason I couldn't give this park a 10 was of the dog park. It consisted of a 20X40 gravel lot, scattered with weeds and dog waste that was not picked up. It is surrounded by a make shift fence. Nasty. There is very little other space to walk your dog. Excellent ice cream shop within walking distance outside the park. There is also a secured gate at night to limit access. Nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very present experience. Manager was very attentive, recommended a pizza delivery restaurant that was wonderful. Park was neat and clean. Easy in and out, with the manager helping us into our back-in site. Very close to the beach, which was a unique area for shops and restaurants. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed at Beach Rose in May and found it to be very nice. Its a small campground with 50 sites, but very well taken care of. Unexpectantly we found it necessary to arrange for a site for a 4 week stay during July and Aug. The owners of the campground couldn't have been more helpful and bent over backwards to accommodate us. I can't thank them enough for their help.If your looking for a nice quiet park and friendly staff, do not hestitate to go to this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park located near Atlantic Ocean as advertised. Lots of things to do in Salisbury and surrounding area. We stayed 14 days in the park as we were visiting our daughter in Burlington, MA. The park is very well-maintained and staff was helpful with info as well as being very friendly. The staff takes pride in keeping the park clean and well maintained. They are always very happily working! We will be back to the park as often as possible to visit our daughter and enjoy this area and facilities. Ice cream shop within short walking distance as well as several good cafes and restaurants. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stay at this park on our way to and from Florida. The park has a nice feel and has the fresh coastal air. Good for our purposes as the park opens early in April and closes in mid November. All hookups including cable TV, are easy and well positioned on the lots. Access to the park from I-95 and I-495 takes some maneuvering with a large rig, but since last year there have been upgrades to the route. We plan to stay at this park again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The exorbitant fee lowered the rating on this park. In addition, their wireless network didn't work at all for me. I had to plug in to the wired connection in the games room. The park was jammed full and the sites are jammed together. Some of the sites might have a good satellite shot, but not on the site we were assigned. Not a great experience, all in all. We would not stay again, particularly at tis rate. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The sites were very small. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was no where to walk the dogs except out on the main street. They had a fenced in area to let them off the leash, but that doesn't work well with my dogs. We only stayed there 1 night. Would look elsewhere before staying again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very tight: every available space is used. Inconvenient bathroom, use it if you are parked, as we were, away from checkin. $1.00 charge for a shower seemed excessive. There is nothing, at this site, that would inspire us to return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park is well-maintained, neat, clean, quiet with nice sites and friendly, helpful management. The location is convenient to beaches and city locations. Altogether, an excellent park! We camped here in a Motorhome.
First the complaints: Everybody is packed together pretty tightly and only a few of the sites can connect with satellite dishes. OK, that’s it. The good news is that this is a very well maintained park with good utilities, level, clean pads with a nice pool and limited, but good, amenities. Garbage is picked up at curbside with easily recycling available too. We were in a 45’ big-rig and the owners saved pull-through space #43 for us. The park was quiet (except for one occasionally barking dog) and was in a location that was convenient for us. This is not a Grand Lux park, but if you want to be near the Northern Beaches and towns of Massachusetts, it will be a good choice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice medium-sized park in a good location. The park is set back from the road to reduce traffic noise, and has few perma-rigs. The interior roads are paved in a loop that encompasses most of the back-in sites. There is one long pull-through site (#43). All sites appeared to be FHU. The friendly owners are on-site and he is a master at directing people into their spaces (more than just a site "escort"). All sites are well-packed gravel with reasonable spacing of grass patches. About 60-70% of the sites will accommodate rigs to 45'. Most of the sites on the eastern side of the park should be satellite-friendly; park Wi-Fi was reasonable fast and mostly stable. Cell service was strong. The park include a large pool, a game room for the kids (didn't see that many kids on our visit) and adequate laundry facilities. We didn't experience any issues with our pets as others have noted; we used the dog run to the rear of the park and walked the loop for exercise twice a day and staff was uniformly accepting of our dogs (of course, we always pick up as well). While we were here, one rig pulled in late in the evening because they were turned away at another park (40 pound dog weight limit), and they were welcomed here. Rate noted is standard peak-season price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
From what we saw this is the best campground in the area. The pet issue noted by other reviewers was not an issue for us since we do not have pets but the owner has put up a sign noting a new pet area in the park. The park is small and very well kept. The manager is the owner and that makes for personal attentive management. If you want to know anything about the area, just ask him. We did not find the noise to be a problem but we were here off season. Another plus for this CG is that they open earlier than anyone else. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a well maintained campground well suited for an overnight stay. Sites are on the small size, but not to excess. Cable and Wi-Fi work well. On the other hand, this is definitely not a dog friendly park. There is a very small dog area in the back near the dumpsters that is also where they keep junk and dirt. This area is fenced on three sides. There appears to be no maintenance in this area. We walked our dog on some gravel near the road and someone came out of the office to see if we were allowing our dog to do his duty out there. We would stay here again overnight if passing through. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Greeted by the owner at site and then told we could not back up so that the sewer hookup would be close. He did not want the rear of trailer hanging off of pad as he was trying to grow grass. This made the awning area which is towards the front of my trailer, covering a gravel area where parking was encouraged instead of over the nice grass. The pads either need to be bigger or he needs to give up on growing grass under the where most trailers are going to sit. They also advertise a pet area which is just an area by dumpsters where dogs can do their business. The place was clean and well kept. The sites are very close together and fire ring placement has you staring at neighbors as you sit around your own fire. I would not camp here again. They are only pet friendly because they were losing business. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice, clean, quiet, well maintained campground. Yes, it's a glorified parking lot. However, it has paved roads, level concrete pads, strong Wi-Fi, and reliable 50amp service. It's location is as close to Boston as you can get, and Salisbury beach is just 3 minutes down the road: an easy bike ride. The pool is warm enough to get into, and isn't packed with kids. This park tends toward adult campers. The only downside is the highway out front. It was a little noisy: about a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very small campground that is good for an overnight stay. The owner is a really nice guy. One of those guys who likes to carry on. It's very clean. The sites are all on concrete pads which is very nice to set your rig on. They have a pool and you are not far from the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in the area. This is not a campground for family activity. Cheers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We didn't care much for this place. They advertise big rig sites, but the road was narrow and sites not spacious at all. The pet walk consisted of a section about 8 x 8 behind the dumpster. We won't be returning. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a small campground, but very nice. The sites were paved and level. There was plenty of room to park the RV, the tow vehicle or toad and still have plenty of space for outdoor furniture. The road to the beach gets very congested, but you can walk or bike instead of drive. The pool is heated and very clean and nice. The staff were all very friendly and nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. This campground is not really pet friendly as they have an exercise area that is just rocks and dirt. Fortunately we found a drive-in slightly up the street where we could walk the dogs, and they even offered us a free ice cream for them when we stopped by on Saturday evening. It was the highlight of our trip for the dogs. Wi-Fi was generally inaccessable most of the time, except after midnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rose Beach is a very clean, quite campground. It only has 50 sites. They do not have a playground. Salisbury Beach is near by, about a mile away. Nice friendly staff. We will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a small park! We arrived in a group of five 36' fifth wheels. We called ahead to get clearance to come in early and the owner was there to greet us, get us off the street and to park us individually. The park was immaculate and the folks were most welcoming. The facilities were great. . . the voltage was good and the water pressure was good. You will park on concrete pads for the rig. There is lovely grass for the picnic table. Great quiet park!!! We would definitely go there again!!! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I agree with earlier posts - this is a very nice CG for bigger rigs. The brochure states that they allow motorhomes and 5ers. Staff is accommodating and friendly. Late season rate was $35, much less than in season ($51). These rates include extended cable, 3 point hookups, free Wifi. Satellite reception depends on the site. We had no trouble getting in without a reservation mid week in September for a stay through the weekend. 42.84050N 70.83513W We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy in and out for big rigs. Great staff provides assistance backing into sites and will go out of their way to help you with any problems. Morning curb side trash pick-up makes it easy to take the trash out! Emergency "Salisbury RV Repair" master mechanic will come to your site if you need anything fixed. I would give this place a 10 out of 10 except that the lots were a "little" close together for me... but it's also a great way to meet new neighbors, so there's good with the bad. We had some fun "cock tail hours" here. I would definitely stay here again. It's about 1.5 miles from Salisbury Beach. Walk to ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, fried clams & fish , etc. right next door at a local joint - very good! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners and staff extremely nice. The owner makes it a point to personally greet every camper who stays at his park. Campground is so meticulously well kept and clean! The pool is nice also. It is refreshing to have owners and staff who treat you so well with anything that you need. Will definitely be back! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We only stayed here for the night, not extended stay. It's a smaller campground a short drive from the ocean. We liked the fact that it was very neat, clean and had level cement pads. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Immaculate RV park. Staff was very friendly, and it had all amenities. Back to back sites in the middle would be congested if the park was full. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was spotless, both in terms of grounds and restrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The park was about half empty while we were there, but sites are very close together and back-to-back. If you seek privacy, then this is not the place for you. It must be really "jumping" in mid-summer when full. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very small spaces, basically a parking lot. Mostly locals, a little bit of a party atmosphere on a weekend. Very close to beach. A little hard to find. We camped here in a Motorhome.
What a gem! Clean and secure; close to the Atlantic Ocean. We arrived late on the first night and they would not accommodate us which was the only disappointment, no late check in. But the RV park is one of the nicest we've ever been to in so far as cleanliness. You won't be disappointed for $35 per night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly well kept park. All utilities worked well including WiFi. Although the roads were wide, parked cars made it very challenging. The sites are nice but with our 40 footer there was very little space to park our car. We had to have cars moved to get our rig in and out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our trip here started as just a stop on the way to Maine, but we just LOVED Beach Rose! This is a lovely little park, with friendly owners, and a super clean big pool. There's a bicycle path from the park to Salisbury State Preserve Beach, which is beautiful. (as opposed to the Salisbury town beach with isn't great) We'll definitely return on our next trip north. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
No complaints at all, (although it is pricey but you get what you pay for), especially in the middle of summer. Very tidy park with all the amenities. Wifi and cable great and included in site fees. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sealed roads and concrete pads. Would disagree with earlier comment about Salisbury Beach. It would need a lot of work before raising its status to "Dump" level. Would stay here again, handy for Boston and Salem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Loved, loved, loved it. We came in late and they were waiting for us. Very helpful getting us to our sites. Kids had a blast participating in campground events. Owners and staff were eager to help with local goodies. We will stay here again. Ray - keep up the good work. Eat at "Markeys" We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean campground, Concrete pads, full hook ups, good for big rigs. Good home base. The train to Boston is an hour ride and $7.50 from Newbury Port. Did laundry in the AM did not have hot water. $1.50 a load .25 for eight minutes of dryer. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean park with large full hookup paved sites.Owner was very friendly and accommodating. The pool was not open this time of year but it had cable tv and free Wi-Fi.Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground, nice pool and pleasant owner. Only one pull-thru space next to electrical stuff. I would definitely stay here again. Good location to explore North of Boston and Salem, Cape Ann area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean park, not much to do there. Ok, pool that you need to shower before uses, and you need to pay for! Nothing much else there. Salisbury Beach is a Dump, stay away, Hampton is a very nice beach, Salisbury State may be nice, but we did not see it. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was planned around big rigs. All sites will fit the biggest of rigs. Roads are wide with plenty of shoulder space. Staff will guide you to your site and help you back in if you have any problems. The entire park is spotless. Owners are on site all day and always available for questions or concerns. We did see some well behaved pets and a couple of short stay tenters. All sites are 20/30/50 amp service, sewer, cable, and phone hookups. Gated security. Well thought out and planned activities on some weekends. Shuffle board, horse shoes and a small arcade for the teens. Wide roads and enforced speed limit make this park safe for little ones to ride their bikes all day. Minutes away from some great state parks on the beach in Mass. and New Hampshire. One of the best parks we have been to. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Shouldn't campground employees have some sense of measurements? We called ahead to verify that they had LARGE pull-thru sites that would accommodate our 40ft rv WITH a 20ft trailer. They said no problem. THEN when we parked outside the gate to register, I specifically asked "You see how long we are, will we definitely fit in the site?"; the lady said yes, no problem. So we paid our $50, looped around to the site only to find that we had to squeeze between trees and then after we did, we hung out into the road on BOTH SIDES. This required us to go back around the campground, drop the trailer (where we couldn't see it) and pick it back up on our way out. We are full timers and have been to many campgrounds. When we are just stopping for one night we like the convenience of not having to drop the trailer. Especially this night when we got in later in the evening and had to check out (mandatory) by 11am. This is why we are very clear when we call and explain we are the size of a tractor trailer. We don't expect everyone to be able to accommodate us, but at least tell us the truth. We usually stop at parking lots when just going through for the night but we paid the $50 this night for the convenience; which we didn't get. For the price, I would expect more. Like updated bathrooms, appreciative helpful staff, a level site etc. We wouldn't stop here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Conveniently located to I-95, grocery shopping (about a mile or so) and beaches (about 3 miles). Nice people in office, very helpful. Cable & Wi-Fi good. Coin-op showers, which is unacceptable in my opinion in a site that costs $50 per night. Sites varied in size, but ours was long and wide enough and easy to get in and out, but low-lying sites need a lot more gravel or mulch as they get extremely soggy when it rains. Ours was all mud pretty much the entire week we were here. Laundry adequate and reasonable. Very nice playground. It looked like there was an area to walk dogs. Two small pools in same enclosure; both looked clean but were cold. Quiet at night. Water pressure was quite low. Gate access in and out. No mosquitos as far as I could tell. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Bathrooms are old and in need of updating. Showers are coin operated, small, and old. Privacy doors on stalls don't latch and many have protruding drywall screws. Supposedly, the electrical power has been upgraded. However, it is three phase 208 volts, which is industrial/commercial. Our surge protector kept shutting our camper down, as one leg of the 50 amp service was only showing 106 volts. We could not run our water heater, one AC, and the refrigerator on electric without the surge protector kicking in. Others on our camp road saw us after getting help and said they also had some problems, but did not have surge protection. For the price, I would not be inclined to return to this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here because of the ratings in the Trailer Life Directory of 9/9.5*/9. The length of our stay was from 9/14/2011 until 9/20/2011. We were very disappointed with the facilities for the price of $45.00 a night. There was trash and bottle caps all over the sight we were assigned, and also in the surrounding sights. The restrooms were nowhere near as clean as they could be. The grass all needed to be mowed. My husband and I spend most of our time in State Parks around the country volunteering as campground hosts and we would never let a camper move into a site that was as dirty as this one was. We, also, are very particular about restrooms and know how they should be cleaned. It is a disgrace that they would charge to use showers when the showers are not very clean. It is also wrong to be charging for showers when you are paying $45.00 per day to camp. When we first checked in the girl at the office was very friendly and helpful. Later when my husband went up to notify the office that we were not receiving the correct amps at the sight, there was a different lady and she was very unfriendly, and did not seem at all concerned about the problem. On the night of Saturday/Sunday the 17th/18th we were awakened by campers in a tent across from us. They were talking very loud, drinking, and playing loud music. This was at 1:00 am. We called the office phone numbers and only received a recording. We left a message; there was no way to reach the campground management. We finally called the local police department for disturbance of the peace. They finally arrived about 2:30 am. This is totally unacceptable that we should have to put up with this type of noise when quiet hours begin at 10:00 pm. On the 19th we went to do laundry, we were washing 3 loads of wash. Two of the washers were working fine; the 3rd one would not agitate. I went to the office to report the problem. The girl in the office said she would track down the person responsible for them. She came into the laundry room about 10 minutes later, she said the washing machine company would have to come out to fix the washer and she told me I would have to move the clothes to another washer. She gave me the money for it, but did not offer to help me wring out the clothes or move them. So I had to wring out all the clothes and move them to another washer. The laundry room does NOT have a sink or any paper towels to dry hands off, so there I was with drippy hands. During the whole time we were at the campground we have not seen any cleanup of the grounds. We would NOT recommend this campground to anyone . We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is easily accessible and the spaces are not too crowded. The Wi-Fi was pretty reliable at our site. The dirt/gravel/wood chip site was fairly level. That being said, this is the least friendly park we've ever stayed in. The woman who checked us in had no interest in us what-so-ever. The other residents, mostly seasonal, don't even make eye contact. They have a long list of rules, most of which are broken by the campers. The owner/manager had a dog tied to the back of the office and clothes lines are everywhere. The trees are so thick that mosquitoes are a problem. There are many primative sites with tents. You have a security code to get in, but I still didn't feel comfortable here because of the other campers' distrustive attitudes. I wouldn't stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Shady sites, beautiful swimming pool, easy access from I-95 but: you have to pay to shower. No problem if it is clean, but it was NOT. And if you consider the price of staying: we have to pay 10 dollars extra for a guest, so the price for one night $55, it is overpriced and strange you have to pay for the showers! Wi-Fi was available but not constant. Owners are very friendly but they have to do something about the price. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
When arriving, we asked for a site where we would not be surrounded by other rigs. Although the campground was barely full, they gave us a site right next to another rig. The cable TV didn't work, but they did refund the money we had paid for it. The bathrooms were very old, relatively clean, but cold water only in the basins. The coin operated shower required a number of coins for just a normal amount of time, and the water was lukewarm at best. The campground was not particularly clean: litter was everywhere. The best part of this campground is its proximity to a seafood dive called Lena's, delicious and very reasonable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great playground. Friendly staff. Shady sites. About 30 minutes to bike to the beach. Beautiful beach. Less crowded beach than many in the area. 2 nice pools were closed early. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The camp personnel were very friendly. Our site was large with mature trees which obstructed our satellite. There is a $10.00 per person charge for any guests that come to visit (even if it is just for dinner). We were here for a week, and enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed a campfire most nights. We would return to this campground. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I left before the darkness came. I called 3 days before to get reservations and asked for a pull through. Upon arrival, they had me in a back in. I asked to be changed and they obliged, reluctantly. I was sent to a site where there was a nice large tree on each side of my motorhome. I had to back out when I left. Under the motorhome was a freshly dumped pile of rock that had been barely scattered. My motorhome sank 6 inches. I unloaded my bike to take a short ride to the beach. Upon return, I was informed that no motorcycles were allowed in the park. I asked could I just push it back to the site where I would load it on my lift and would not interfere with any campers. They said no. I had to park it on wood chips besides the office. I explained that if I had known the rules, I would not have unloaded the bike to begin with. That did not matter. There were no signs or anything whatsoever to let one know of this rule and the lady (used loosely) did not tell me when we checked in while we were parked in front of the office in full view. I explained the problem with having to take the hitches loose in order to load the bike and move the bus to the bike to no avail. After calming down, we decided to leave. While loading my bike in front of the office, another biker pull up, put in the code for the gate and drove right in! When asked about the double set of rules, we were shrugged off. In short, rude staff, camp not kept up, too narrow sites for big rigs, golf carts and bicycles everywhere, double set of rules, pay showers and so forth. Never again for this fellow. Fellow campers and bikers beware! I tried to stay in a motorhome. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is the pits. Sites are close, people are Rude. Wal-Mart is better and 1,000 times friendlier. Stayed there twice and will NEVER be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were given a shady spot in the back of the camp in between permanent RVs that was very nice. The owners are working to make improvements to the roads and sites by putting in gravel and woodchips. The showers were clean but older. This park is OK for an overnight stay but we would not want to stay longer. The beaches close by were beautiful, but watch out for Sunday night traffic. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Terrible. Never again. I will never ever ever go back there again. The staff is very rude. They think they own the world. Never take your kids there NEVER. This place was the worst campground I've ever visited. The bathrooms were gross. The arcade was a joke. The Pool is the size of my pick up truck. We camped here in a Tent.

This campground was tacky the minute we pulled in with artificial flowers stuck in the ground. There was trash left on our site, and was almost impossible to maneuver with trees. There were no activities and no way to set up our satellite with all the trees. They even charge for the showers. We were glad we only stayed two nights. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

This place was horrible. The people were rude and miserable. You could only have 1 tent per site so all of our friends had to pay for different sites. The sites were covered in wood chips and there was a highway so close we could hear cars going by! The showers were coin operated and barely worked. Despite the bad sites the worst part was by far how rude the owners were-really miserable people! This place was basically a trailer park-never give them your business they don't deserve it! We camped here in a Tent.

The only good thing I can say was they have a super playground. Now for the negatives: 1) There is no camp store. There are not even soda machines available. 2) The sites are very tight. 3) There were many seasonal/permanent campers many of which were in need of repair. 4) They allow dogs but, judging from the staffs attitudes, don't really like them. 5) The sites are mulch so many were muddy. I saw a class A who couldn't back into his spot as he kept sinking in the mud. We were only there 1 night and that was enough! We camped here in a Motorhome.
Upon check-in we requested a site that we could renew beyond the three nights requested should we decide to stay longer. We were told no problem, and the camp had many open sites during our entire stay. We went to the office to renew and they refused to renew our site. The staff said that it was rented and if we wished to stay we would have to move to another site. NOW. We decided to just go on to our next destination if we had to pack any way due to the work involved. Nobody on the staff had bothered to warn us that we needed to move or leave, and we found out accidentally by going to the office to renew despite our previous request to potentially stay in that site longer. Instead of heading to the beach we now had one hour to pack and move our unit. We told them after packing that we would like to park the camper in their acres of empty parking lots while we went to the beach since our plans had been disrupted and they said NO! Yeah, I love good customer service. Frankly it wasn't worth renewing any way since our site was pathetic, way too small even for a pop up, and afforded zero privacy. We had to encroach on the neighbors to put out our tiny awning. Further the toilets were overflowing daily and the baths were not clean. The showers cramped my petite body, and my husband could barely fit into them. Quiet hours were not enforced and kids roamed late into the night, smoking, lighting fireworks, and cussing. A woman of mature age walked into the bathroom one night, smacked a beer down on the shelf, used the facilities and walked out. Tacky. I now see why the other campgrounds are booked every night of the summer and this one has tons of vacancies! Steer clear, as we will in the future. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This is a campground with close proximity to Boston. There is a commuter train nearby for access to the city. The sites are relatively close together but the grounds are covered with wood chips and look nice. We did not use the pool, the rest rooms were clean and tidy. There are many 'seasonal' sites here and on the week-ends the place is busy. However, during the week everything quiets down. The location is right off the I-95 but there is no traffic noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This camp ground was just OK. There are no activities for kids at all. The pool area is a Joke. Also, they have a 35 lbs. pet limit. ( or so they say ) We have a Yellow Lab and when I called to see if I could bring her they asked me if she was over 35 lbs and then they said no, she or us will NOT be allowed in the campground. They said they are very strict on this. So I put her in a kennel which was $200.00 when I get there the first thing I see is a St. Barnard way over 35lbs. Then I see a golden Ret. again over 35 lbs. I say something to the office people and they are like we will take care of it, Needless to say the dogs were still there all week. So the people who work there in my eyes are all frauds and lies. Will never go back there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a family campground with lots of kids around, that is what they advertise as. It is so so for motorhomes and older couples with no kids. Our site was ok, not good but not bad either. Both of the young women we talked with in the office were very friendly. Good location to visit Salem and/or Hampton Beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Ridiculous price if it weren't for the slight proximity to the ocean. Our awning touched the back of the RV next to us and they were quite small! Very crowded with tent campers, so many trees, we had scratch damage and no satellite. Not a friendly staff and very unlevel gravel site. People next to us had no sewer and begged to use ours. Would not return or recommend for any reason. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park was OK, pretty much as advertised. Nothing special, Lot of seasonal gusts, but generally kept nice. Spaces are a little tight. But again that's what the guides said. Lots of children, Wi-Fi barely worked at our site. So used our Air Card and that worked fine. We selected this location because of the WI-Fi and it proximity to the train station at Newburyport for travel to Boston and Salem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was by far the worst campground we stayed at this year. Pool does not open till 1pm. NO activities for kids or families. You are on your own. Quiet campground...does not sell out or even come close to that because of the lack of anything. Bath house is clean. Showers clean. Campground tried to charge my family, 4 members, to come in to check if I was there that weekend. Wouldn't even let them in to check. Campground has a Warden who harasses those staying. Stay away. Check the State Park at Salisbury instead. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This campground needs new management. They are rude and not at all helpful. We arrived to find our fire pit full of garbage. We camped next to our son. His electric did not work properly and the campgrounds answer to fix was to call the power company. The sights were nice but sure needed grooming. The pools were small and was full of leaves. Don't think I would go back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park has potential with right managers. There is nothing to do in the park. No rec or activity schedule and while I was there the majority of the time it rained. Seems to be mostly seasonal people. Pools are very small, deceiving from their website. They are also only open 1-7pm which is unacceptable. I could understand if they had a lifeguard but this is not the case. Also no camp store so everytime you need something you have to leave. The laundry facility is in a trailer and the showers you have to pay for. Also no urinals in the mens bathroom. Sites are spacious but all covered in large wood chips. Even with a mat over them they poke you in the foot. No garbage pickup that I was aware of, but the dumpster area only had one over filled dumpster. Not a bad campground just to park your rig at, but I don't think I would ever go back We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice place to park. Pool is only open for six hours. (1p-7p) This is unacceptable. Not much to do unless you leave the park. Area beaches very nice. Close to Kittery, ME. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We camped here three years in a row, and each time we ask ourselves why we keep coming back. The staff is so rude and uncaring, and not very helpful at all. The old guy driving in a golf kart was continuously yelling at the little kids, when confronted by an adult he would step off. The pool is only open from 1-7 and when we returned from the beach and wanted to keep swimming we could not, even though it was 90 degrees outside. The advertised shuttle to the beach takes an hour even though the beach is a 10 minute drive. There is no camp store on site, and have to leave to get anything. The game room is old and out dated and needs a serious upgrade. Showers should be free, are $ 0.50 for 5 minutes: unacceptable! If not for its close location to the beaches and other attractions, we would never camp here AGAIN! NEVER! It's not the campsite that is bad, I believe that it is the management. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.

Small sites in the sun. Two unclean small pools. Hours open 1-7 even though weather was over 90 degrees all day. No urinals in men's room-unsanitary. Rude uncaring employees. No quiet hour. No supervision of the playground or equipment. Playground in direct sun. Constant traffic on large gravel and sand roads. No recycling. Garbage picked up at 4 AM, loud trucks. I-95 nearby. No free shuttle to beach as described in brochure. Area is very nice, Hampton Beach is great, just don't plan to spend much time at the campground or don't plan to sleep. We visited Black Bear Campground in Salisbury, Ma. July of 2005. The Campground was very clean. The lots were spacious and level. The whole campground looks very modern, and well kept. A large playground for our children to play. Two pools and a nice reck hall. We really enjoyed our stay and would return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

I have been at this campground several times over the past five years. I have noticed some negetive reports on this site that do not match this campground. There is a Blackbear Campground in NY so I think some people may have them confused. This campground in Salisbury, Ma. does not have a junk yard and is not near New York City. It has nearly 200 sites not 145. I find this campground very inviting and close to the ocean. They have lots of trees for shade, great new play area for the kids and every thing is always nice and clean. When making your reviews please make sure you are in the right State, Thank You. This campground is fairly new but has not been maintained. Bathrooms are dirty and look like they have been there for many, many years. Campsites are not level and there is minimal privacy between sites. Will not stay again.. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Could be a nice campground. Seems run down. Lots of repairs needed. Seems to have a lot of seedy characters as permanent guests in sites and cabins. Reminiscent of Deliverance. Stayed over July 4th long weekend Thursday - Sunday. Campground was full actually overfull. We had premium pull thru site since that was all that was left. OK with us in our Class B. Neighbor only had pop up and small tent. Seemed like nice family with 2 young kids. By next night they had large group of rowdy drunks and lots of obnoxious rude kids that encroached on our site. When we got up they had all pitched tents on our site since their site was overflowing. Went to owners to protest. Another neighbor on other side also had trespassers. Complaint fell on deaf ears. In my opinion they got their money and could care less about us. They did drive by in their golf cart but did nothing about the group. We were outta there early Sunday morning and made lots of noise packing up our stuff. Tempted to drive straight out, but didn't want to commit homocide. Had to back out of a pull thru. My advice never stay there unless really desparate. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Could be a nice park, but junky, and full of permanents. The NY City Tour, however, is
fantastic and well worth the money. Be sure to ask for a tour driver by the name of Al. He is the best! We camped here in a Motorhome.

Getting up the hill to top of this campground is tight if you have a big rig, and tree limbs and branches do a number on your rig. When you get to the spaces, you are immediately turned off by the large number of "permanent" sites, occupied by units that are rusty, dilapidated, taped or glued together, and the number of junk cars sitting around. One guy tried to sell me a used truck, and I saw others changing oil, working on vehicles, etc., in empty RV spaces. Old junk wires, pipes, cables, etc., are lying around everywhere. It could be a nice campground but, as it is, if you have an option of staying here or in a junkyard, pick the junkyard. You'll be happier. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We have camped for the summer for three years now. We have been vary happy as the
campground is clean and friendly. There is a laundry mat, family room with tv in case you are tenting!! Gameroom with pool table and games, two pools and great play area for the kids. Horseshoes, basketball and volleyball. We are impressed with the cleanness over all. Would recommend this campground to everyone. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This could be a decent campground if they had better electricity. It was 90 degrees when we were there. We paid extra for 50 amp service. The voltage was so low we couldnt use the A/C. Roads were gravel. Sites were gravel and mostly level. There were a lot of trees, but a big rig should not have too much trouble getting around. There were quite a few seasonal/permanent residents. We would not stay there again because of the bad electricity. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were planning to rent a spot for the season. We were told we could pick a spot from
the 3 or 4 they still had available. We picked our spot, went back to the office and told them which one we wanted. Staff was very friendly at this point. They explained we needed to pay a months rent plus security deposit all in cash.. We asked them if they could hold the site until the next day and we would return with the cash--even offered to give them a deposit to hold the particular site we wanted, they said they would hold the site no problem. Returned the next day and while filling out the paperwork noticed that the site was not the same one we picked...in fact the site they were giving us was located next to the bathroom! Sure didn't want to spend the season next to the bath house. When we complained they told us that was all they had and we could take it or leave it. We left it. Would not have stayed there if they were giving away sites! Drove a few miles up the road to New Hampshire and found a lovely cg with very nice office staff. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Overall this cg is decent, but when we went to the office to report a problem of low voltage (104 volts) we
were told that this was not uncommon because there are a lot of "brown outs" etc. in the area. The sites on either side of us tested their electric and advised they had 120 volts (ok). Advised the office and they promised to send someone to check it out. That never happened. We also found sites in the area that we were
extremely small. We camped here in a camper.

There were new pull thru sites which handled 36' 5th with p/u though not all the sites would be large enough. Some of the interior roads were tight turns due to trees. They had just put in a lot of wood chips so everything looked nice and fresh. The office staff, however...There were site prices posted on the door and on the windows of the office. When we registered, they tried to charge more. When we pointed out the signage, they said those were out of date - too bad. I told them that they were their signs, not ours and that they should honor them. They told me they didn't need me as their guest. It was the end of a long day so we decided to stay. Then they insisted on cash stating that they wouldn't chance a "stop payment" on a charge. Mass. and the RV industry would be better off if this place became a factory site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park was a disappointment. They charge for the showers that weren't clean ,they charge for visitors, they charge for the gate pass. We had the site across from the bath house and the sewer dump. There works go around cleaning the permanent sites then bring it to the only dump station. If you are there when they do this you will lose your lunch because their hose leaks, even the workers were losing there lunch. I will never stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The campground was ok. It has crowded sites. Kids could not wear life jackets in their pool which closes early. Fires must be out by 10pm even if your quiet. The restrooms could use some basic cleaning. The workers were not that friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
All in all, a pretty nice park. Our first site was downright cramped. My husband had to climb on our roof to trim branches so we could fit (36-feet) into the site. Even then it was TIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHT. There was no chance of getting satellite through the dense trees. If you look around, you'll see pieces of taillights stuck in trees and left by people who thought it was much tighter than we did. I would strongly recommend big rigs stay in the upper area. The roads are narrow and corners tight. After a couple of days sweating it every time a big rig squeezed by, we moved up into one of "Z" sites in the upper row. Much better. We were able to run a long line along the fence to the hole in the trees for satellite. The only downside there was the house in our "backyard" had a small dog that barked constantly during the day. The pool was nice and the folks at the front desk were nice and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
What a great park! Most site are the largest we've see. Most have trees, shrubs separating you from your neighbor. Nice (but small) arcade with video games, pool table, ping pong, pin ball machines. Nice pool. Volleyball court, mini golf, shuffleboard, horseshoes, basketball court, teatherball even a kiddie playground/sandbox all right on site. Pizza house right next door. About 10 minute drive to Salisbury State Park & Hampton Beach. Very strict about 10pm quiet time. Many seasonals who are very friendly. No cable TV or wifi, but hey, we're camping, right! Love all the trees. They really give you a sense of privacy. All in all a great spot! One of the nicest we've ever been to. We will be back again and again! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Location is fantastic. Easy access to ocean and river beach. Sites are well laid out and hookups are more than adequate. Pedestals are to the rear of the sites and are quite far back. We needed to use two 25' hoses. This an excellent location to explore Salisbury and Newburyport, MA as well as Hampton Beach, NH. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We loved this place. Big and clean and not crowded. Lots of beach and riverfront area. Nice hiking nearby. very good value for the price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We've camped here the past few years, always in September. The trailer sites were all full the weekend we were here. The location is perfect. It's where the river meets the sea. Flat roads, small sites with concrete pads, fire rings, and charcoal grills. Very pet friendly. The store is small, dingy, and not well stocked but does have firewood, which you may not bring in. The playground is great. We'll be back next year. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was our third year in a row here. It is an absolute bargain if you want to be at the beach. Legitimately walkable. The very end of the Merrimack river ends here, and prior to the ocean beach you have a beautiful river beach with plenty of sand. This is a great place for easy biking as the roads are tarred and dead flat. My wife was kicking herself that she didn't take her bike, but I and the little ones brought ours! We camped in a 17' Hybrid Trailer. I gave this place an 8 instead of a 10 because there is no shade (you are at the beach) and there are virtually no activities; although there are some nature programs and plenty of boating and fishing right here at the park, and nice playground for the little ones. Also there is plenty to do in Salisbury, Hampton Beach is about 10 miles to the north and Newburyport is 10 miles to the South! We camped with two adults and two children ages 6 & 7. We love this place and will be back again next year!!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Typical beach area camping; place flat with little shade. Camp sites are grid style and on the small side. Our site hookups were okay. Noticed place very crowded with lots of extra cars, boats with trailers, tents, and people, but found everyone very respectful. Was here 4 yrs ago and again I had checked off that the bathrooms and showers were clean, but to be honest I’ve seen better. Price per night makes this place a good value, would certainly return again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
3 Days of beautiful weather, but we love this campground for the level sites, clean area, next to the beach. Friendly staff at the gate close to major beaches in New Hampshire, need reservation way in advance. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is a very tired looking place. When we were there only one washroom building open. It is ideal for the July August crowds who just need the essentials! We will not be going back. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We come back here as often as we can. The ocean breezes reach most all the sites and the views of both the ocean and river are wonderful. It's a great, level place to walk and ride your bikes for great distances with beautiful views. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great beach accessible campground near the delightful town of Newburyport, MA. We had some difficulty with a blown electrical outlet, but the electrician came out on a Sunday and fixed it. Otherwise, our stay was quiet and uneventful. If you like geocaching, there a couple of caches in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We like the State facilities because of the price and usually situated on some prime real estate. If you like the ocean, can't beat this place for convenience. In spite of all the sites (100's), we've been lucky to usually have decent neighbors. Each row has management or host campers so things don't get out of hand. It's older and has some limitations but I go for the beach. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground is maintained by the state; all sites are level and provided with a pad for RV's. The area is policed by staff and state police on horses. Drinking is controlled as well as other contraband. Access to the beach is great as well as access to a boat launch. Drawback is the campground does not have any full hookups, however, there are pump out services as well as an onsite dump station. This campground is convenient to Salisbury center, Newburyport and its fine restaurants, and Hamptonbeach, NH. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great location near the ocean. The trees & shrubs need to be trimmed back. It's almost impossible to back in or drive on the roads without scratching up the RV. There are a limited amount of sites with 50 amps, but in many cases they are given to tenters or popups. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We live in Massachusetts and this is the first time staying in this area. We were very happy with the campgrounds. This is on a nice clean ocean beach. I enjoy fishing and this was a great area for saltwater fishing and recreation. The sites were very clean and well laid out, level. Each had a fire pit and cooking stand. We plan on returning this summer and have reserved a few weekends. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Awesome location to visit beach area! We camped next to a large group of fisherman that were kind of loud at night. We also experienced a night of very severe thunderstorms and the staff was very good about making the camper aware and checking up on everyone. We also experienced a lot of ticks right at our site location. Hampton Beach is very close and has many fun activities. We will return again, but in our travel trailer! We camped here in a Tent.
This park is very crowded and is very difficult to get a reservation at. The good news is that it is a clean campground and the no alcohol is strictly enforced. We saw several campsites get tickets and have the alcohol taken away. Everyone we met was nice and my wife just loves going to the beach and hanging out. Our kids also liked the beach and the really big playground. The store is really expensive but there are grocery stores nearby. We will try and make reservations for next year but will have to wait 6 months before we want to arrive to be able to make them. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The day we arrived we saw trash bags falling from the overflowing dumpers and no one in the registration office was aware there was an issue. Once we notified the office, the dumpers were emptied that same day. Four dumpers near the dump station were inaccessible due to a large wet muddy road that crossed in front of them that should have been paved. The dump station design was from the 1920s and not maintained or cleaned. Just point your dump hose toward the horizontal grate and hope it all goes down. The bath houses looked so unkempt from the outside with weathered paint that we chose not to go inside. Other than a trooper that drives through once a night, we saw little effort to maintain this wonderful river front and ocean front campground. In addition to the daily camping fee, there is also a one time transaction fee of $9.25. They give away their few 50 sites to campers in tents and/or small trailers that don't need 50 amp service. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice campground. We have stayed here for the past 4 years. It is very clean and comfortable. The host campers are amazing. It is patrolled by policemen on horseback. I only wish we didn't have to make our reservations so far in advance. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

We liked this park! Has wide open, level, sunny paved sites with easy beach access. There is a boat launch. Excellent bicycling into Salisbury beach. Power is only 30 amp, but worked fine, no problems. Mid week in June, the park is mostly empty. It will be completely full Saturday evening. If it had 50 amp, Wi-Fi, and sewer, we could give it a 10. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stay here quite often and have taken advantage of the State Boat Ramp on site. Use is included in your camping fee and there is an excellent ramp/float setup that makes launching and retrieving even the biggest boat an easy task. Parking at the ramp is tight but we have always taken the trailer back to the campsite. Dogs are allowed on a leash on the riverside beach but not the ocean. The seals early in the season are fun to watch. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a very nice, quiet campground. Granted, we camped here in the off season and it wasn't full. The streets were quite narrow and if the campground had been full it might have been difficult to maneuver. My kids loved riding their bikes, walking the beach, seeing the seals out on the rocks and playing at the very nice playground. I think my only disappointment was the fact that they had two stations for dumping. Even on the off-season there were very long lines, we gave up after two hours and drove home with full tanks. That might be the one thing that keeps us from going back. With 481 sites and none have septic, they need to add more dumping stations. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great location for a campground - spacious sites on basically open ground with paved streets and pads. Plenty large for even the largest RV with slides. Streets are a bit narrow but careful driving will pay off. Staff was helpful. HOWEVER, we did have a major problem which some of you may encounter. Our motorhome could not stay connected to the electric due to the GFIs tripping. It is unusual that campgrounds have a GFI on the pedestal. We tried to connect to 3 separate pedestals without success as a consequence we did not have electric service. There was nothing obviously wrong with the pedestals or our rig, just some unexplained incompatibility. We have never encountered this before. A trip to the office for a refund (which was granted) and there were knowing remarks about some RVs not being compatible with the electrical in this park. Bottom line, if you can connect, this is a great place to camp. We left after our first night and connected at another campground without a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great campground for the beach or fishing. One small disappointment was that we were expecting to be able to boogie board at the beach but life guards wouldn't allow it. We had to walk about five minutes to get off the state beach property to go boogie boarding. Found staff friendly and seemed to be experienced. There was not much going on in the Salisbury area as for things to do, but it was a short drive to NH and ME attractions. It was very pet friendly with lots of dog stations through out the campground. Campground store was decently stocked, but everything in the store was way over priced. I had checked off that the bathrooms and showers were clean, but to be honest I've seen better. Also had our cooler stolen the first night we were there, which I found later. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We camp here every year. Big sites, walk to beach and excellent fishing. Pet friendly, nice little store. Book early in season if you want 50 amp We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very nice park, although quite large. We called one day ahead, and there were plenty of spaces since it's not summer season yet. The ReserveAmerica booking fee is $9.75, and there is no other way to make reservations! Friendly and helpful girl at check in gave us a choice, oceanview site. Verizon cell and aircard work at full signal. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very nice Campground. Nice level site. Size is good, Liked being close to the river front. It was our first time here and we arrived after dark. Had a bit of a problem finding the turn into the campsite. We like the campground, we like the price $22 per night. We think the Reserve America fee of $9.25, 42% is exorbitant. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a good low cost campground for visitors to Massachusetts to stay to see the local area and sights. The only problem is that all 481 sites are reservable. On local festival or vacation weekends, out of state visitors are at a disavantage if showing up with out reservations. We lucked out and got a tent site to situate our 31 ft 5th Wheel on. With a little judicious maneuvering, we managed to park the RV and truck on the site. The 30 amp service worked great and didn't drop any voltage while the air conditioner was running. The water connections were very crappy looking and the water was salty. We used the water in our on-board fresh water tank during our stay. We had to leave 1 day earlier than planned, due to not having reservations. Very crowded park even on the weekend after Labor Day. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I have been coming here for almost 30 years. It has turned around in the last 10 years. We enjoy the beach, the sunshine and NO mosquitoes. Often called parking lot camping, as your neighbor is close. People are always friendly and willing to help. Dry park - Alcohol prohibited, which helps keeps the rowdy kids out. The bathrooms and showers need to be updated. But all-in-all, we go 2-3 times a year. Nice place to relax and watch the water and boats in the mouth of the river. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The best part of this campground was the location. We had our dog with us. Dogs are allowed on the "fishing" beach. The worst part about this campground, is the bathrooms. I actually told my daughter to hold off on a shower until be returned home! It was only a 3 night stay. Store prices are high! The campground is policed by the Massachusetts State Police, which we found to be very friendly. We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
This park was pretty clean. Easy to get around (grid park). No sewer but dump station on site. No cable, no Internet. Sites are right on private beach bordering ocean belonging to park. Sites are a bit tight but you can fit camper w/2 vehicles easy. Pets allowed. No limitation on visitors. 7$ a carload of visitors. Store on site but rather costly. No activities. Boat launch in park. State police patrol park in car and on horse back often. Very quiet park. Fire pits on sites. Very good deal for the money. Can't beat this one. We were satisfied and will definitely return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Considering that the main attraction of this park is the beach and boat launch, the campground is quite nice and is much nicer than several of the local private campgrounds. It is near to both Salisbury and Seabrook, NH which have ample restaurants, stores etc. We were there a few days before Labor Day weekend and again a few days after. Naturally, it was more crowded before the weekend, but we were able to get a site without a reservation and could have stayed the entire holiday weekend if we wanted to. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We noticed a park ranger (or possibly a State Trooper) on horseback, patrolling the campground one morning. The sites are flat and generally open with little shade but they are level and well laid out so you don't feel like you are on top of your neighbors. The campground is kept very clean. We didn't use the showers or restrooms, so we can't comment on those. We saw a surprising number of people camping in tents. Many campers had dogs but they were generally well behaved and you didn't hear a lot of barking. There are some 50 amp sites, some 30 amps and some 20 amp. Bring extension cords because the boxes can be quite a distance from the site. Ditto for water - you definitely will need extra long hose. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table and some also had grills. We certainly would go back there again and can recommend it either as a stopover or for a longer stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an ocean park nice beach, good fishing, only have water and electric but easy in easy out. The staff did a very good job of keeping everything clean. Great for kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Location-Location-Location...is everything. This park is huge and located right at the mouth of the Merrimack river and the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Awesome spot. The park itself is in need of some clean-up. Rest rooms are filthy and the grounds are shabby. The work campers can't seem to keep up with the needs of the campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I guess it’s what to be expected from a beach campground: small sites, very noisy, no trees. You are “cheek and jowl” with your neighbors, small level asphalt pads for your trailer or vehicle if you are tenting. The bathhouses are nothing special, but seemed to be clean. Luckily when we were there it was cold and rainy. We had a non-electric site and four days without shade would have made the trailer unbearably hot. The cold did seem to put a damper on the rap-music-playing car-top-dancing folks across the street from us and quelled the sand fleas that have infested the campground. The campground has no view of the beach, or any direct access to the beach. A short drive does get you to the beach, which was very nice. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This was our first stay on a crowded weekend (Memorial Day). We were very pleasantly surprised at how quiet things were given the campground was pretty full. The store was decently stocked and open long hours. Bathrooms were fairly clean though the showers are a little dingy. A big plus was each evening, a couple of state police would ride through on horses, making their presence known. A negative is that there are only two dump stations - making for long lines at the end of a busy weekend. Just as an FYI - they are upgrading the campground to have electric at all sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We admittedly stayed here after the season was over and there were only 20 or so campers
in the whole park. Access to the ocean is a short (5 minute) walk away. There is also access to two rivers, including the Merrimack. Restrooms were well-kept. Price is reasonable. Very nice state campground on the ocean. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Not bad and for the price!!! Just wish they had sewerage and it would be much better. The sites are large and level. Friendly and helpful staff. We camped there for the first time this past week and really loved it. Will be going back there as much as possible. Great ocean only a few minutes walk and very friendly people who camp there too. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Excellent State Park, although there are no "Ocean Side" sites, they are a quick 5 minute walk away. The site is nestled between the Ocean and a river. There is boat access, excellent fishing off the river and the ocean is quite nice and a quick walk away. Since it is a state park there are interpretive programs for adults and children to tak part in. A nice pavilion for picnic lunches just off the beach. Rest rooms at the beach are nice and there is a small snack shack at each parking area (there are 3 parking areas: due to the fact that it is open to the public who are not camping as well). The campsites are not large or wooded, but they are paved, level and large enough for privacy or to talk to your neighbors. Electric is 20 amp, and water. Sewer at dump station. This is a very family oriented place, many children, lots of bikes: lots of fun. Plenty to do for everyone. If you like the ocean, you will like Salisbury SP!! We camped here in a camper.
Spent our first weekend at the camp. Site was clean, bathrooms were clean, and pool not opened yet being only April. We are there for the season. Neighbors were friendly and very welcoming. We love our new summer home. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
What a great place! The owner and his wife were wonderful, friendly and worked very hard. It was there Halloween in August weekend full of events. The wife did games for the children and they had a ball. The restrooms were very clean and always were stocked even during a busy weekend. The pool was warm and very cleaned also. The site we had was very clean and large. The store had a little of everything you would need in case you forgot something. The wood was 2 for $10 and the bundles were large. Our family had a ball and are going back next year for 2 weeks. Great owners! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The campground is surrounded by marsh. It has a lot of huge tree which provide plenty of shade. The ground is mainly sand which turns into mud when raining. The pool was closed when we wanted to use it. The sites are quite small. The restrooms really need some rework and were barely cleaned. The free WiFi only works at the office. We will not return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place is ok. Close to Salisbury beach. The site we had was very tight. Not a whole lot of room to move around, trailers and tents just looked like they were put whichever way anyone wanted them. Quiet hours were from 11pm to 7 am which no one enforced them. We have a young baby and the people in the next site were up drinking all night and loud. Some people even had their dogs barking for all hours of the night. I wouldn't recommend this campground unless you are into partying until the early morning hours. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
