Last year's reviewer pretty much hit it on the head. When we arrived, our reserved spot was occupied, but the owner put us in another OK. It is an old campground, but clean and scenic. We did not use the bathroom/shower, but when I checked one, the floor was soaked from all of the showers. The owners grandson tore around on an ATV: annoying, but otherwise quiet and serene. Good location for touring local sights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is located right on Lake Superior and it is a beautiful setting!! While this park has been around since the 40s, it shows its age but the owner keeps it clean and functioning. The bathrooms are in outhouse looking buildings but there are porcelain toilets and fiberglass showers and a sink in each one, small but functional. There is a dump station, but it would be nice if there were full hookups, that's why I gave it a 9. Owner is currently working on building 6 pull-throughs. State is very strict on sewers lakeside, so full hookups may never come to fruition. Lots of Pine and maple mix of trees just about all sites are shaded. All sites are back-ins except maybe 13 could pass as a pull through. Entry from 5 Mile Point Rd. is a fairly narrow dirt road among the pines,so watch for on coming traffic, locals don't obey the posted 20 MPH. If you want peace and quiet, listen to the wave lap the shore and sit on a small rock beach, this is the place. There are a few seasonal campers, but by and large are pretty quiet and older. I would come here again in a heartbeat. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Our RV was 38' and it was a challenge to negotiate some of the bends in the road. Only 4 sites for the big rigs. View of Lake Superior was tremendous. An old campground but nice. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
