Sutter's is mostly a seasonal campground, but also has many sites available for weekend
and holiday camping. We can't say enough good things about this campground. It was clean, the bathrooms were always kept clean with full toilet paper, hot showers with good water pressure, a nice swimming area, great playground for the kids, a campstore with arcade, firewood, Saturday Bingo and an over-all friendly atmosphere. Many trees provide shade and wonderful fall colors. Security and rules are always enforced making for a safe and secure vacation. Family, holiday events and planned activities fun for the whole family. Yes, you will see decks and sheds on the seasonal sites, but you also see the pride and love these campers have about their homes. Everyone made us feel so welcome. A friendly wave is a must and very common for everyone at this campground! Located just north of Lapeer for shopping and things to do, it is ideally located in the middle of the woods away from all the traffic sounds and hustle bustle of the city. Fishing, and county walks make this place our favorite place to stay away from home. We recommend this campground to anyone looking to stay in this area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We had a great three night stay. The golf course was well groomed. Everyone was friendly, both staff and guests. The showers were very clean but could use a little updating. It rained all night our last night there and all the roads were quite muddy when we left in the morning. We will be staying at this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground was everything we could have hoped for considering it was our first time out with our new Travel Trailer. The owner might be the nicest lady I've ever met, you can tell she loves this campground more than anything. The rates I thought were quite reasonable considering you got free water and cable service. The sites were a bit close together, but we had no one on one side of us so it wasn't all that bad. There are several seasonals at this site, a couple of which looked a bit run down, but everyone we ran into were very cordial. There is a very nice 18 hole golf course right on premises, which was a nice touch. They do run activities, such as fishing and euchre tournaments. The bathhouses were old, but well maintained. A small camp store was available with a few odds and ends. Not much of a fire pit, but we made do. The only real complaint I had was that the flies were insane!! You would have thought there was a rotting animal under our trailer, because they were just all over. My guess would be the ranch just down the road could have something to do with the fly population. Overall a pretty good experience, we would stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
