This campground is right on Lake Madison (although you have to walk down 50 stairs to get to it or walk down to the man-made beach). During the summer there are lots of people at the small beach area. There are a couple very nice shelters as well. It is flat and spread out. No water hookups which was an issue because the water in the campground is rusty. When we stayed here in August the dump station was not working either. The park ranger is friendly. A big word of warning: when they say they close the gates at 10:00, they lock the gates and you will not get back in! Because we stay here to visit friends, we will return. Even with the lack of water/sewer it is a pleasant campground. The majority of the sites are small back-ins, but there are 15 or so sites that work fine for bigger rigs, although they can be tricky to get into from the road. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
