We called in January of this year and requested a site where the dish could get a signal. Check-in was easy and the roads were nice to the grassy area that was our site. But we drove by the site because we could not see any hookups, we thought it was a parking area, a very well shaded parking area. The power and sewer were way down the hill by the site which shared the water pedestal with the site on the other side. After hooking up we found out the roof mounted satellite dish would not work. Why the people in the office don't know the sites is beyond me. We found out later, after we left our water pressure regulator and water softener on the pedestal on the wrong side after we did our normal walk around before leaving on the usual side, we found out that the office people never go into the park. Makes you appreciate parks with owners on site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

For starters, we started calling this park during office hours (8AM-8PM), 3 days before our expected arrival and kept getting a message saying that they would return our call. We never got the callback and just showed up early Monday afternoon. We were able to get one of the last few FHU sites for 2 days. Several hours after we arrived we got the "promised" callback. Bad customer service. The park has 66 W&E sites in an area in the front section of the park. This area is very congested and includes many popups and tents. There are 2 FHU loops. All RV sites appear to be back-ins. The W&E area has a bathhouse with 2 showers and 2 toilets for each sex. The first FHU loop has a similar bathhouse. As previously noted, most sites have a lake view and some views are unimpeded. The only stairs to the shore are behind sites 23 and 25. It is only 1-2 miles to most of the sights (lighthouse, RR depot, ore docks, etc.) in town. Most customers appear to be locals (MN and WI) who book their 1-2 weeks vacations well in advance. So, call early if you are trying to get site in the summer and hope they get back to you. Staying here to see the local sights is worth the effort it may take to get a site in this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Burlington Bay was my first RV trip of the season. I had a site facing Lake Superior, which was absolutely gorgeous. A long rocky beach was just about twenty steps down. I enjoyed wonderful quite time down there. It is a city-run campground so amenities are few. The only critical comment was the condition of the bathroom on my final morning there, but I called after I left and they were very apologetic and said they cleaned it up. Let's just say that some people are just animals and the campground can't help that. I will be back, but next time I need to bring a bike so I can bike into Two Harbors or up to Betty's Pies. We camped here in a Motorhome.

While this campground has beautiful modern bathrooms, our shower experience ruined our opinion of the overall facility. The showers have no temperature control (ice cold water was only available). To take a shower you must continually push the single control button. The sites are wooded and nicely separated. However, the large number of mosquitoes prevented us from enjoying our campfire. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Great state park campground. Sites nearly secluded from each other, neat old CCC buildings (which have been updated with modern restrooms & showers), new visitor center, friendly staff, great hiking & bike trails to the shore, falls, and deep woods. Roads and pads are gravel, a bit tight with trees in spots. Some sites may fit a large unit. We had no problem with 30' 5th wheel. Close to town of Two Harbors. Would have gotten top rating if sites had views of water and electric available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Good place - no major amenities but just a nice, grassy level spot. Antenna TV does not really work, but Wi-Fi was great right at the 5er. Most sites do not have sewer, but he will pump you out for a very nominal fee. Very nice people. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice, well manicured, and heavily treed park. Owners live on site and are accommodating. Was surprised when we signed up that they charge $4.00 per day more for electricity (perhaps 50 amp service but that is not what she said). We camped here in a Motorhome.

This is a private RV park with no pool, golf, etc. But we did have lots of shade trees, grass and quiet. The owners live on site and are very helpful and friendly. They suggested where to visit and where to eat. She made sure we were on a good site and parked in the right spot for level and slides. Only a couple of miles from Two Harbors. Exceptionally clean and well maintained area. Bathrooms are spotless and showers are hot. We had to continually adjust our antennae for good TV reception. We would go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
