An older park, a bit run down (Like the rest of Vicksburg). When my husband requested a 50-amp site, the person at the desk said there were none available. But when he said we would not be staying, they suddenly found one. Very pet friendly. I guess my low rating is based not so much on the park as on Vicksburg itself. We had visited in the late 1980's and were saddened to see on our return how much the city has deteriorated. I'm not actually sure how much we were charged, but do remember the rate was reasonable. Will not visit Vicksburg or this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is really a nice place to stay at. I do not know how the negative rating got on here. The sites are level side to side and only had to adjust front to rear as in most places. The check in lady was nice and helpful and full of advice. The bathrooms were spotless at 11 am. I used Verizon air card and internet could not have been faster. The sites are close to gather but lots of pretty green grass between them, cut to golf course appearance. I would stay here gladly when coming through. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
The sites are very unlevel front to back and side to side. I had to put wood under back wheels to get level enough to run refrigerator. It was still too slanted side to side that I couldn't put out my slides. I asked for a different site, and the staff refused even though the park is only about 2/3 full. They couldn't be bothered. I would give this park a 1 but the cable and wi-fi did work. I camped here 2 nights and would recommend motorhomes stay away from this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pretty easy to get into this park. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Let us check out late so we could get a good morning tour of the Vicksburg Military National Park in before pulling out. Sites are level and gravel which lets the water run off well when it rains. Had a great thunder storm while we were here. All amenities worked well. Would likely stay here in the future when visiting this area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Very narrow cement pads that are not angled enough to prevent driving over grass to pull in. Sites very slanted front to back. WiFi was only fair. Roads sport broken pavement and patched holes. Sites are somewhat narrow with grass between. Utility connections well-placed. Nice lawns and woods around campground. Very quiet at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to stay overnight. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Concrete sites, grass, some small trees. Very clean. We had been driving in rain storms all day and had wet towels and clothes from walking and drying pups. The laundry is small, but nice and I did two loads of clothes. Would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The people at the park are very helpful and go out of the way to be sure you have a good stay. The one problem is some of the sites are not only uneven but could not come close to leveling the unit.. Other spots are och. The staff worked with us to find a spot we could be level. The spaces are OK for distance between. We did enjoy the town and the stay. We would use this park again, but stay in a different site. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Ditto to previous posts. Convenient but kind of hard to maneuver in. Pull throughs are tight pulling car with motorhome. And, like everyone else said, sites range from not-very-level to really-not-level. After two tries, we found one that only required three Lynx blocks under each wheel. Hint, if in a motor home, pull in backwards with your fronts down hill, then the two wheels will require only half as many blocks as doing it with the rears. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I have stayed at this park 3 times. Mostly it works, but there are a few things I would have liked that would have made my stay much better. First the negative: On my first stay here, I checked in late and did not receive the bath room code. I could not access the bathroom and showers. Since I don't have a bathroom in my Aliner, this was a problem. The next morning when I tried to access for a shower I couldn't get anyone to let me in without the code. I went down the road without a shower. Next stay, I had the code and it went a lot better. On my recent stay, I requested a space near the restroom and was given a spot on the absolute very back of the park. Bathroom and showers were at the top of the hill and it was raining and storming all night. Again bath and shower access was limited. Being at the bottom of the hill during the storm, I was receiving a flash flood in my space. Fortunately the spaces are paved or I would have been knee deep in mud. Warning: if it is raining I would recommend you pass this place up. I did notice an empty space right on the first row when I checked in, but I imagined that this spot was taken. Imagine my disappointment when it was still empty the next morning. I could have been in that spot very close to the restroom as I requested. I probably won't be back to this park as there is a better stop just a few miles down the road. Now the positive: The folks that work here are very friendly even though they didn't provide me the spot I needed. The rate is good, the showers and bath rooms are neat, clean and well kept. Coffee pot is on in the morning and the lobby area gives a home like atmosphere. Spaces are paved. WiFi is adequate and cable TV is good. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Nothing really special unless you like to spend lots of time in the casino, which I assume would get you a reduced rate. That being said, there is really nothing negative about this park. It is basically level with concrete pads and paved roads. A few potholes, but nothing major. Convenient hookups, with good cable TV. Staff were nice, and there is a sitting area with television and coffee available. Lots of places to walk dogs. Easy access to/from I-20. Will stay here every time we are in Vicksburg. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects GS discount. Clean park with friendly staff. CG Wi-Fi worked well (almost the exception rather than the rule). Sites are 60ft x ~25 ft with grass in between. There's a parking area nearby for toads, etc that won't fit. Roads & sites are paved with some muddy spots after rain. Some sites slope quite a bit -- I couldn't quite level my 5th wheel fore & aft. Pool in season. Cable TV + several OTA stations. A bargain given the rate. Great place to tour historic Vicksburg for a few nights. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Each of the 67 sites is pull-through, although the sites are a little short for a big MH plus towed. This is a Good Sam park and we missed our 10% discount by not realizing that. Pads are concrete, and some are slightly uphill but workable. There is a picnic table at each site, but not much else. No shade to speak of. As others have said, a convenient shuttle will gladly take you to the casino down on the water where you can make voluntary donations to Ameristar on the slot machines, poker, dice, etc. We stayed a couple of nights to visit the national battlefield, well worth the time to visit and take the driving tour. The rate without the Good Sam discount is $22.50 a night, including sales tax. A nearby train track had frequent activity, but was down in a ravine and not objectionable with the windows closed in the motorhome. We'd stay here again if in the area as it was a pleasant location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here for two nights on our way south. Very friendly check-in, level, good cable and Wi-Fi. We ate at the casino's buffet, $10/per person, assortment of food. Easy access and quiet at night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed in Vicksburg for 5 nights and found this RV Park, which is part of the greater Ameristar Casino, a great central place to stay at an extremely reasonable rate. The park has concrete slabs with full hook ups. The staff from first contact via the mobile phone to checking in and out were fantastic. Free coffee available in the reception area was an added bonus. The free shuttle bus to the casino is an excellent service, from the time of ringing to it being there to pick us up was about 3 minutes. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants at the casino but sat at the bar watching the NFL , once again the staff were very polite and welcoming . We would recommend this park predominately for people without children, there is no playground, not that that worried us in the slightest! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The rate we paid was a discounted rate. This is a nice park with full hook-ups and all sites are pull throughs. There is a free shuttle from the RV park to the casino and back. The Wi-Fi worked well. I would not call this a family campground. It is more suitable for adults. There is no playground and it seemed to us that most people who were there, were there for the gambling. We would stay here again if we are in the area but only for a night or two. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A good place to stop for overnight. All utilities worked well including WI-FI. All sites are paved/concrete and fairly level. Free shuttle to Casino/restaurants. Sites are a little close together but workable. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Big wide not so level spots. They were all concrete which was nice. Be prepared for some leveling challenges. That being said the park was very clean and maintain well. Close to the battlefield. We stayed 5 nights. Train was close by but didn't bother us any. At $22 a night it was a good deal for full hookups. They had a shuttle to the casino. The casino itself was very nice. The buffet was really good. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A nice campground but run poorly. We stayed four nights, the showers had only cold water, looked like some permanent residents in the back that hadn't moved for years. Now the bad part, upon checking out I was given a receipt for my four day stay. Two days later when checking my bank account they had charged me twice. I have contacted them several times but no-one wants to check it out or do anything about it. I am going to dispute the charges but this is something to watch here. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We hadn't planned on staying here on this trip, but an unexpected change in our plans led us back here. We have been here numerous times over the years and, as usual, we had a FHU, pull-through with 60+ channel cable TV and good Wi-Fi. I want to mention once again that the cement sites tend to be short with utilities at the rear of the site. The biggest problem is that most sites are very slanted (mostly upward toward the front). I guess some people don't notice the problem if they have a 5th Wheel or a large rig with push button levelers. Also, there are not enough bathrooms facilities for this size park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate reflects weekly stay / discount. No-frills type park; basically a full hook-up parking lot, asphalt roads and each pull-through site / pad is concrete. Most are level; the ones that aren't are deceptively unlevel. Active train tracks and highway nearby, but at least the trains don't sound their horns, so you just hear them rumbling past. Not great, not bad, but certainly far better than any of the other parks in the area. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sites narrow but level, close together. Easy to get in and out. Staff friendly and helpful. Convenient to casino, historic sites and downtown Vicksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The rate reflexes a weekly rate with a Good Sam's discount. The RV park is a good location for site seeing in the area. The most redeeming quality about this park is the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. The park itself was neat with ample room between spots. However the way the sites are setup makes it difficult to get level. The cable didn't work as well as the antenna by itself and the wifi was iffy at best. I was disappointed all in all. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access from I-20 and convenient to Ameristar Casino that provided a free shuttle service to the casino. Several concrete pad sites were sloped uphill to the point that made it difficult to level the coach. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The big problem with this park is that most of the spaces are not level, with a significant slope: making it a big problem to level the motorhome. Also the paved sites were very narrow. This made it a pain to get into a site and set up. We tried several before we found one that allowed us to get level. Obviously, this place was not laid out by someone familiar with RVing. The park is convenient to the interstate (and the casino), clean, with friendly and helpful staff. It was about a half hour from the park to access the northbound Natchez Trace. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pleasantly surprised by this park. At $22.50 a night it was the best value outside of some Nat'l and State Parks. Site was roomy, level and clean. Plenty of room to walk the dog. Didn't use any facilities, but did take the free shuttle to the Ameristar casino across the street and ate dinner and gambled a little. Shuttle is available 24/7. Next time will check out the history in Vicksburg. This campground is a keeper. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a nice place, not far off I-20. They have concrete pads with grass in between. The rows are easy to maneuver through with plenty of room. Friendly people in the office. Very convenient to all the casinos. Not much shade in the park and it is fairly wide open. Only other negative I experienced is I can't get a receipt before checkout. I am leaving before the office opens in the morning and they can't give me one. They say they will email it to me. Overall though it is a good park and I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park was easy and low stress. This park is right off of the freeway and was easy to find and navigate. It is also very close to the Vicksburg Battleground Park, as well as many restaurants and stores. We arrived late, picked our own spot, and hooked up. Spaces are level and a decent size. There is a shuttle that runs to the casino frequently. The only down side to this park is that they don't have any type of camp store (not even for ice). They tell you to go to the gas station down the street. Overall we were pleased with the park and the price, and will definitely be back when we are back in Vicksburg. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Sites are fairly level, some needs work to make them work for a big rig. Staff is super! Good water pressure and wifi. We always use this park when in the area. We traveled in a 43' motorhome and have no problem getting in and out of the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park but unlevel sites. Campground is very clean and staff friendly. Good phone service on AT&T and Verizon. There is a shuttle back and forth to casino was nice. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Like others have said: the best place in town to stay. Friendly staff, safe area. The pull throughs are a little short. We had to park our car perpendicular to our 40' RV to get off the street. No big deal. All sites face North, so you have shade on the passenger side in the evening. A big plus when it's hot! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground is clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and efficient. The sites are well spaced with adequate room. The sites have concrete pads. The campground is about 4.5 miles from Vicksburg Military National Park. The campground is very quiet. The cable channel lineup was extensive and the internet worked flawlessly, even during peak periods. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the best that Vicksburg has to offer, which is pretty pathetic. Easy on and off the 1-20, friendly check in and paved road. We had a fairly level concrete pad on site 33, but a lot of the pads are cracked, not level, not long enough, not wide enough for big rigs. Grass had been ripped up just trying to get on and off the pads. We were there for one night, and there was not enough space to park with the towed attached. There are a few shade trees between sites and a small pool, clean bathrooms and small laundry and dog walk. Wi-Fi was good and it is quiet. Restaurants and sightseeing close by, shuttle to the Casino. Ameristar really needs to update this campground. Despite all its shortcomings, we would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A good park in a convenient location for sight seeing. Easy on and of I20. Warning. Many sights are not level. Some are OK. Even the new sites are NOT level. Far from it. Someone wasted a lot of money relaying them as they are a joke. Our advice is to take a walk around and make sure your allocated site is good enough. We stayed here a week on a site that was just level enough for our motorhomes air leveling system. We watched many frustrated campers trying to get level on sites that should have been better built. Apart from the wayward sites this is a good park with good cable and excellent Wi-Fi at a reasonable price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
You have pretty much zero choices in Vicksburg, so just grab a spot here. Big place, just a parking lot feel, with tiny trees. It is part of the casino, so there are shuttle buses to go gamble, if that's your thing. Pool was nice. Not many kids here though. Good enough for overnight and to visit the battle field. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Sad, but this is the best place to stay in VB. Easy on/off I-20. Friendly people. Lots of nuclear plant workers, but that is about to end, so park may clear out more. Had 5 sites re-leveled while we were there, but all need re-done as we used more blocks to level our RV than we ever have in 5 yrs of full timing! Eat at Rusty's downtown -- excellent food. This is a good place to stay to sight see as it is so well located. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Simply stated if you are going to stop in Vicksburg this is the campground you want to stay at. Easy on and off the interstate yet far enough away so there is no road noise. Showers/bath were very nice. The only suggestion is be sure you get the access code for after hours. The clerk failed to tell me about the code. Luckily I found someone who would let me in for my morning shower. This is the place to stay!! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park is nicely located for seeing the sites and has very good free Wi-Fi and Cable TV. The restrooms were clean. It has a pool but we didn't use it. The price was reasonable and it reflects the Good Sam Rate. Our lot (22) was on a slight hill and it was a bit difficult to get it level. Other lots seemed more level. This CG isn't fancy, but it has all we needed for a two night stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Central location. Nice, easy sites, all pull-thru. Very close to casinos, with free shuttle to Ameristar Casino. Hot tub no longer available. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Glad to see park is open again but a lot of worker bees so it fills up very early even midweek. Recommend reservations. Staff helpful but this park continues to be problematic for fifth wheelers as most sites are very uneven. You would need to carry a lot of lumber to level some out! Park continues to have a bit of a scruffy feel. Sites need a good raking. Washing machines were dirty. Your best bet in Vicksburg. Glad you are back! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here 2 nights. Very clean, people friendly, perfect place to stay for going to the casinos and touring the Vicksburg area. A lot of history and nice downtown. We were in back row with view of a lot of trees and park like setting. Laundry room was clean. Good cable TV, but weak Wi-Fi. Very close to everything including some great overlooks of the Mississippi River. The Ameristar Casino riverboat was a sight to see as you drove down the steep hill to get to it. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice clean camp ground with excellent Cable TV. Easy access and free shuttle takes you to and from casino. Easy to find off freeway. If in trailer or 5th wheel, MS roads are in poor condition and RV really took a beating. Nice friendly staff. Great for pets. Most go the RV's we saw were long term or permanent spots. This campground would have earned higher rating but the downside are the sites are NOT level! Had to move twice to find a somewhat level space. We will stay here again now that we know which spaces are level. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good for an overnight if traveling on I-20. Close to some gambling on the river boats. You cannot stay hooked up if using a motorhome, as the pads are too short. Utilities were good; the Wi-Fi was good; and there were a lot of cable TV channels. There is a ant problem on some sites. There is some train noise. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park was completely full at 3 PM when we arrived, we've stayed here 5 or 6 times and never has it been even half full. Reason for being full, "snowbirds" per attendant. Offered us a no charge spot to dry camp in overflow parking, the use of showers and being able to dump & fill with water as soon as someone vacated in the morning. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great park for a stopover or for passing through. A basic casino campground with pull throughs. Fills up early but they have a large parking lot for dry camping if needed. Reservations are helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Easy access from Interstate, large sign with RV info . Our motorhome is a 45 footer and sites are around 60 ft. We did not unhook toad so we used all of 60 ft. We were just there overnight, but were treated like royalty. Dinner in steak restaurant was excellent, quality, service, price. Visited their casino after dinner and happy to say we left with some of their money. Doesn't get much better then that. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is affiliated with the Ameristar Casino which is across the street. RV park office has nice waiting area and clean modern restrooms. They had a free shuttle to the casino and offered 2 free buffet dinners at the casino. We used both services and found staff to be courteous, and buffet food was good. Sites are concrete but numerous ones are not level for motorhome placement. We had to move sites for this reason. Nice grassy areas are available to walk dogs. It is handy from I-20 on the western Mississippi border. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice enough park with all pull through concrete sites. The sites were a little short for larger rigs and you could not stay hooked on. Motorhomes hauling toads would need to disconnect in most cases although I did see a couple of inconsiderate travelers who refused and blocked the drive behind with their toads. Rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A clean Casino park. It was filled as many came to work on the local nuclear plants. The desk clerk said they limited the number for live ins, but there were plenty. Good access for our rig. It was quiet compared to many other RV places in the area. We'd stop here again..we were touring the Vicksburg battleground and area.. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was close to the interstate which meant road noise. Concrete sites are close to level with little work. Good campground for casinos and for site seeing. Not a sit and visit campground, most stayed in their rigs. If in the area I would stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It's really the only game in town in Vicksburg, but that's not a bad thing. The park is really well maintained, hookups are in good shape. Pads are paved/concrete and reasonably level dependent on your site. It's easy off and on I-20. Easy to visit the park or the downtown. Free shuttle to the casino. Good Sam discount on a good price already and I'll stay again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good park with easy access and return from/to the Interstate. Paved roads, fairly level concrete sites. FHU. Friendly office staff. We stayed a week. Enjoyed the Ameristar seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. Lots of history in the area. Probably the best park in the area that we've seen. Stayed at another park in years past, and prefer this park. We would stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Agree with prior reviews about not much more than a parking lot, but after looking at other local campgrounds, this would still be our choice because of location and the concrete sites. Wi-Fi was great until our last day. We came here with intent on sight seeing and some gambling and it served our purpose well. It is not a 'sit out and enjoy' campground, but we were not here that much. Area has much history and good restaurants to enjoy. Even Ameristar casino was fun, except for the smoke. Staff was friendly, but park is definitely a pass through one night place for many. It fills up at night and emptys out next day. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a park targeting those going to the nearby casino and, for that purpose, it is o.k. Otherwise it is not much more than a paved parking lot. The sites are level, and it is convenient to I-20. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Centrally located so you're close to everything. Sites aren't level so you have to break out the level and work a little. But still a great value and of coarse, they have a shuttle to the casino. The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The park was good for a one night stay. Sites are not very long. If you leave your toad hooked up it may be in the roadway a little bit. It is easily accessible from highway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice park for an overnight stay or for a few days if necessary. It is close to the casino and shuttle service is available when called. The rest rooms and showers are clean and neat. The parking space that I had was concrete, level, and short. I am 48 feet total length with the toad and we just barely fit. It had plenty of width and the grass was enjoyed by our dog. The sewer is at the very entrance to site and it took every bit of hose and extensions to reach it from my center coach drain. The water and electric were fine. There are few trees so satellite aiming is no problem and the crank up antenna will pick up the local channels. They have cable but I did not try it. They advertise WI-FI and it did work fine for a few minutes after we arrived. After that, it appeared to be shut off. We did go over to the Ameristar Casino to give away some money but because this is a full smoking facility, we left with our wallet intact. Apparently the ventilation system is marginal and in a matter of minutes the smoke was enough to cause us to leave and go back to our coach. Obviously this is a personal issue and I am only mentioning it because we stayed at this park with the sole purpose of enjoying the casino. We only stayed one night and did not spend any money at the casino for gambling or the restaurants because of the smoke issue. We would stay at this park as an overnight stopping point again if we are passing through but will not use the casino. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Like other reviewers remarked, the sites are short and narrow. We had a 40 foot and were just able to get our car in, but kind of sideways. The staff were friendly. It's not a resort, but a decent park. We toured the area and there is lots of history in Vicksburg. And the Casino is right across the street for those who would like to visit there. We would have no problem coming back to this park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park for an overnight stay. We selected a site that was fairly level - many sites need to be leveled, but they are all concrete which makes it nice. Restrooms were very clean and private. Good base camp for seeing the sites of Vicksburg. Make sure you take the historic auto tour of the city and of course, the battlefield. Park is near the freeway, but noise is minimal, actually there is more noise from the trains. We are not gamblers but we did go to the casino for the buffet. It was pricey but good southern food, if you like that type of cuisine. Would stay here again. Used the Good Sam coupon for a $5 discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I am glad to see that a few recent reviewers are commenting on the condition (short and out of level) of the cement pads on many sites. I have mentioned these and other flaws in some of my previous reviews of this park. Overall, the park delivers good facilities (FHU, pull-through) and amenities (60+ channel cable TV and free at site WI-FI). It still a good park at a decent price. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was fine for just a night or two. All sites are pull-through but very short. We were not the only campers with two vehicles, and it was hard to park and not "get in the grass," which was against the rules. Service to the site was good, but sites were unlevel and required a good many leveling blocks. There were no trees in site, so would be brutally hot in the middle of the summer. Also the garbage cans were the kind with tops and a narrow slit in the sides and was difficult to get your garbage into. We would stay here again for a short period. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
While this park has all the amenities listed, we found the pull through sites shorter than usual and extremely hard to level. The staff were very courteous and it was clean. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice RV park in convenient location. All the sites we saw seemed plenty level enough. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we would definitely stay here again. (Yes, it'll be even better when the trees get some size.) We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is always a great place with friendly staff and grounds maintained, but they really need to replace or repair their picnic tables. Many of the parking pads are beginning to crack and become un-level, but they are aware of the problem and hopefully working on a solution. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice facility. It is a casino's campground. We stayed 4 days. The roads are paved and the sites are level concrete with nice spacing in between. Wi-Fi works well, pool is very nice and the staff is really friendly. We have stayed here before and will return again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The good..the staff is very friendly and helpful. All hook ups are convenient and well thought out. The bad...there are no level sites in this campground. Not one. All concrete pads, but they just poured them with the lay of the land. Seems pretty strange to put in a campground from scratch and not level any of the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is clean and well maintained except for the wi-fi. It wasn't working at all for the two days we were there, and the employees didn't know when it would be fixed. Really disappointed in this. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A good campground that is centrally located. All sites and interior roads are paved. All sites are pull through, but they were not long enough for our 40 foot motor home to leave the towed connected. This was not a problem as we were staying several days, but might be for an overnight stay if you didn’t want to unhook. Cell phone and Internet service is good. There is shuttle service to their casino. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great overnight spot right off I-20, easy in and out. All pull through sites. Good power and Wi-Fi at the park and convenient to downtown. Price reflects Good Sam discount. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Yes! Clean, paved sites. Friendly staff. Nice park. Really a nice park. Great grass and trees for the mutts. Easy access to the Interstate. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Staff was very friendly upon making reservations no matter how many times I called to verify and to request a certain site, they did accommodate us. We were two travel trailers and were able to get side by side, although the park was only about half full (felt kind of lonely). The sites we had 55 and 56 were very unlevel that monitors did not register levels for gray and black, but good location near pool, which was very nice. Beware of ants in ground, pads were concrete; connections were at end of site pad, need long sewer hose; water faucet was about 2 ft high to connect; our other family camper did not have room for his slide out (had to move rig over to fit in). Wi-Fi and Cable free, pretty good reception. No propane and no complimentary coffee as amenities say. There is shuttle service to Ameristar Casino. Some sites had nice shade trees. Check out time is at 11 am. We stayed 2 nights. Garbage receptacles every other site were picked up regularly. Did not use shower or restrooms. Would maybe stay here again when in the area. Gave it an 8 because of unlevel sites, utility connections being at end of site, and ants that were eventually getting in our camper. Very nice staff though. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed 2 nights at this park. It is convenient to the interstate, and the facilities were very clean. I would stop here again if we were passing through the area. All of the spots are pull throughs, and our site was level. The only drawback if you have kids is that the pool closes at 7 p.m. when the clerk leaves for the day. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Park had long sites but no shade. Did not have ice. Pool was nice and showers clean but slippery. Laundry was $1.50 to wash and dry per load. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good access to I-20 and casinos. The sites are small and very close together. A large number of the site are unlevel. The park is in need of updating. It is good for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campsite for the price. Easy access for interstate. Across the street from the casino and shuttle runs 24/7. Nice pool and efficient staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The best thing about this park is the value. For $22.50 you have a pool, shuttle to the casino and Mississippi River, full hook-up, and cable TV. The small drawback is the park sits behind a small industrial park and it has few trees. For a night, it is a great place. We'll stay here again if passing though or staying for a few days. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We have stayed here many times over the last five years. We continue to stay here because it's easy access to I-20. The spaces are narrow and short and some spaces are very uneven. We have stayed here in a 5th wheel, and on two occasions had to move, we could not get level. If you have a large MH, the tow car must be unhooked or it will block the road. Our biggest complaint is that on the two visits prior to our last visit in May, our credit card was over charged both times. Once we were charged double for our stay, and once we were over charged $50. Both charges occurred after we had checked out and had our receipt. We continue to stay here. However, 1: We try to get a reasonably level space. (In May one set of our rear tires was off the ground.) And 2: We pay cash. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All drive-through spaces on a large asphalt lot. Across the street from the casino in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Full hook-ups with cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Close to downtown and attractions. Concrete level pads with small grassy area and trees. Quiet most of time except when train occasionally passed: some vibration. Small pool, 2 machine laundry room, and very clean bathrooms with 2 showers in central office building. Free shuttle to casino 24 hours. Friendly helpful staff. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here twice on this trip heading south on the 5th and heading back north on the 25th. As far as the review is concerned, please read my review from October of 2010. My opinion remains the same - nice enough park with good facilities but it does have some flaws (unlevel sites, aging hook-ups, small bath and laundry facilities, etc.) We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is 1/4 mile North of I-20 in Washington Street. There is a bridge out on Washington, but it is further north. Access is very good. Interior roads are wide. Sites are a bit narrow and somewhat short. A 43 foot motorhome will fill the cement pad, but there are lots of places to park a toad. Sites look level, but most will require some blocks to level the RV. Some sites are shaded. Each site has a picnic table. WiFi is excellent, as is the cable TV. Good water pressure. The park is very neat and clean and the staff was helpful. Although there is no fenced dog run, there are lots of places to walk your dog. If it had a fenced dog run, it would be a 10. Free shuttle to the casino. We stayed here before, and will again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy in and out. Sites are concrete; some are level, others are broken up and somewhat difficult to level. Sites aren't overly long - but with a bit of maneuvering, you can fit everything in. Clean restrooms/showers, laundry room, and pool. Casino shuttle will pick you up at the office and drop you off right at your site. Short walk across the street to a couple of viewing sites of the river - you can also stroll to the casino. Not far from the historical sites and Wal-Mart. Friendly people at the office. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
While hardly a "destination resort" this place was definitely worth the cost. The casino is handy (a free shuttle bus runs 24 hours), and the campground is easily accessible from the Interstate. Not too much noise, the Wi-Fi was good. All sites would have a very good satellite connection. We would probably stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It appears many parks in this area are not open on Sunday. Another park I called, I left my number with the answering machine; called the cell phone that was listed and never got a call. At this campground, I got a live person and one who said they'd be open until 8:30 pm, and on a Sunday. The park is within throwing distance of I-20 just on the east side of the Mississippi River. The sites had many trash receptacles close by and the sites were pull through. No problem getting in or out. No shade but we were here only overnight. Definitely will be on our list as a place to stay several nights when we come back to check out the historical sites. There was also a courtesy van to and from the local casino so if you didn't want to unhook your truck from your 5th wheel, you still had transportation to the casino for games and food. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Rate is daily rate for FHU 50 amp pull through site with GS discount, payment made at checkout. While part of the Ameristar Casino, it is on the opposite side of the road, with access through an area that may have semi trucks partially blocking the the road as they make deliveries which was the case with our arrival. The park is open with no shade, has excellent satellite and Verizon wire coverage. Free Wi-Fi which was excellent, plus regular drive throughs by the casino courtesy van. Close to the Vicksburg Military Park and downtown, which was why we stayed here. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Checked in to our campground the Ameristar Casino RV Park across the street from the riverboat casino. Interesting park with full hookups, Wi-Fi, pool, laundry, cable all for $22.50 and a free shuttle to the casino. Checked out the casino and the buffet that afternoon. Enjoyed the buffet and the casino even though we are not gamblers. This park is located right off interstate 20 and you can hear the traffic from the highway and the trains as they go across the tracks over the river. There are also five other casinos all within about a half of mile of each other. Vicksburg also has mansions to visit and two scenic tours to follow which go by all the interesting places to visit in the city especially their famous murals downtown. Close to the National Military Park, this battlefield can be an all day excursion. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Don't know why you would want to stay anywhere else in town. This is a nice park. The only down side: if the park is very crowded you may end up with one of the not very level sites. Other than that, it's a fine place to stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice and clean park. Friendly staff. Close to everything you want to see in Vicksburg. Good cable and wifi. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The sites were somewhat unlevel owing to cracked concrete surfaces. It was left to my discretion to locate a suitable site for my use (there were many vacancies). The staff was pleasant. All-in-all, the campground was good as an overnight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Location, location, location. Close to the Battlefield, right on the route of the scenic drive, yet tucked away in a clean quiet setting. Very well kept, office staff are very helpful. Level pull throughs, good hook-ups. Would have given it a "10", but there are only 2 washers, 2 driers, and 1 of each was out of order. We definitely will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a good location to visit the Vicksburg National Park and/or the 5 casinos. The interior roads and sites are paved. The electrical utilities, water spigot and sewer are located in the middle of the site. The electrical voltage was good. A large number of sites can accommodate a large rig without unhitching the tow. There is cable TV, but we did not use it. Verizon cell phone and air card worked well. The two bathrooms, located at the front desk, contained two showers and were clean. Train noise was apparent at night but only an occasional horn blowing. We used 'white noise' to block it out. The sites are long but the width is about 10 feet. It is almost impossible not to drive over the grass. It seemed to me that this park is slowing getting past its prime. The cement on many of the sites was crumbling and the interior road could use some maintenance. I wonder how long the shower head has been leaking. We did not see any maintenance crew in the 4 days we were there. We would probably come back here again if we were in the neighborhood. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We gave this park a 6 because most of the sites are unlevel although on concrete, many making it impossible to level an RV without twisting the frame or having one or more wheels off the ground. Other than that, it is quiet except for an occasional train in the distance and has grassy side areas, but unshaded because the trees are only large enough to scratch the sides of your RV. Given the options, stay here if you can get one of the few level sites as it is convenient to the Vicksburg area and is pretty well kept. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We first stayed here in 1997 and then again in 1999 when it was Isle of Capri. The rate was $15 and gas was $1.14. Rate now is $21.03 after the Good Sam discount and with tax you pay $22.50/night. There is gas north of town at $2.79. The breakfast buffet comp has been discontinued as of 12/1/10. The lady said the casino will soon discontinue the breakfast buffet. Most sites will require front to back leveling but the staff is very accommodating so seek out a site if you wish. Train noise was distant and a nice touch for one that lives near a track. The showers are clean, adequate, but need a mat out side the shower stall. Wi-Fi was super at site 24 near the office. Cable TV quantity exceeded quality. Office staff reflected the old south courtesy. Washers and dryers were only 1 Buck! This is the best RV Park Bargain I have seen in many years. No hot tub cuts into the final rating. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate shown Good Sam discount. Site was concrete with grass between sites. Water tap was protected by insulation which helped on one freezing night. Some site pads need to be fixed. Ours looked fairly new. Cable TV worked well at times, but some channels were fuzzy or distorted. WI-FI worked well. Laundry has only 2 washers and 2 dryers. Courtesy phone in office will connect you with casino shuttle. There is some train noise. Park is in good location for connecting with Vicksburg scenic drives. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate has a small discount. Office was very friendly and informative, very nice park. Most sites have a slight sideways slope but we pulled in level in the second site we tried. Vicksburg is a nice town and everything is minutes away. I wish more cities had "urban" RV parks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly folks at front desk. Great place for overnight. Some lots are more level than others. We have stayed here at least twice a year for the last five years and always have a positive experience. Great breakfast breakfast buffet included in price stay. We always recommend this park to people we know that are traveling through Vicksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very clean campground which has friendly workers, cable TV and free WiFi. The complimentary breakfast buffet was terrific and lacked nothing. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park was nice and clean, well manicured. Everything we saw and used was great. Great staff and all. I would give this park a 10 for that. But the sites are not for big rigs, I could not get into my site because someone had their tow vehicle sticking out in the road because there was not enough room in his site. I had to drive around and drive through the site behind us to get in our site. My 40' fifth wheel was slightly in the road on the back end and the truck was in the road on the front end. The roads where too narrow for a RV park. I had the camper in front of us move his toad so I didn't have to back out. That is why the low score. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Office staff was professional and friendly an available after hours by phone as needed. Site was nearly level, and everything works. Too pet friendly as dogs were everywhere on leashes and in temporary kennels. Wi-Fi signal was strong and fast. It is near train tracks. Three trains have gone by from 6 to 9pm. There is some highway noise. Why do so many parks come with RR tracks? We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed here about half a dozen times since I last (5/09) reviewed this park. I still don't understand the 9s and 10s some people give it. Yes, it has FHU, pull-through sites with 60 channel cable TV, and reliable free WiFi but certainly isn't perfect. Many sites are not level and the hook-ups are dated (we saw several in need of repair). The bath and laundry facilities are fine but too few for a 70 site park. We will continue to use this park several times a year as long as we continued to make our usual May and October trips. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stayed here two nights. Has very nice staff and great coffee. There is a shuttle service to the casino and the free breakfast buffet is very good by the way, lots of variety. Won a few bucks in this interesting town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great park! Here right now the WiFi works great! Breakfast available with a night's stay. Nice friendly staff and a good location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We said we'd never stay at this park again but it is a convenient along-the-interstate place to stay. This time we were able to level with boards under the back wheels and jacks (jacks fully extended). We went to the buffet breakfast that was so terrible last time to find the food and service had improved 100%. We will probably stop here again when traveling along I20. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy well marked access off I-20, located 1 block from the Mississippi River. Wide paved interior roads with paved level sites. Utilities easily accessible and all worked well. Close to casinos and attractions in Vicksburg. Wal-Mart about 2 miles away with several eateries close by. Lots of room for pets. Traffic noise was annoying and a train passes behind the park several times a day at all hours. The large level sites, easy access, friendly helpful staff, free buffet breakfast at the casino and the free shuttle to the casino puts this on my return list. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Price reflect a Good Sam discount for a site with 30 amp service. Long pull through sites, but not level! Almost every travel trailer or fifth wheel was unhooked due to the sites not being level. Some motorhomes had their wheels up off the pavement or nearly so. The restrooms were "OK" clean but could have been cleaner. The price includes a buffet breakfast at the casino. There is a 24-hour phone to call to have the shuttle pick you up. Friendly staff, Wi-Fi, easy access to I-20, and the buffet breakfast makes this a good stop. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Great place to park for sightseeing or gambling. All pull throughs and concrete pads and all face north. Facing north is great, makes nice shade in the afternoon to enjoy the outside on your patio area. The staff at the office was very helpful and friendly. Easy access to I-20 and very easy to find. Interior roads good and sites are wide enough that we had go problem with our 43' motorhome towing a SUV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The staff is very friendly so don't know why other review said differently and cost is only $27 with Good Sam discount. You get cable TV plus large, level site on cement slab and a free breakfast at Ameristar Casino. There is also a free shuttle to the casino. We used laundry facility and it was clean plus machines worked very well. Vicksburg is an interesting place and we would stay at this RV park again if ever in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Access is very good from I-20 (2 blocks from interstate). Although close proximity to the interstate, it was very quiet. Sites are concrete and fairly level. No shade, but lots of areas to walk dogs. Free shuttle to nearby casino and free breakfast at the casino included in the fee. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We drove in late at night. It's the perfect place to just pull over, easy off easy on. Nice pull throughs. Not much to look at as far as ambiance. They offer a shuttle to the casino which is nice. Will stay there again just as an overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Concrete level pull through sites. Could use a few more signs to get to the campground. We weren't sure if we were supposed to turn in where the hotel is but found it further down the road. Easy in and out and all pull throughs. Nothing fancy but the price is right and breakfast in the casino was included. Close to Vicksburg Battle Field Memorial and casinos. We only stayed overnight and it was a good location to the freeway yet quiet. Good areas to walk the dog. Staff was very friendly and helpful but we had to check out at the end of our stay since the campground uses the hotel's computer system. Good Verizon cell and internet connection. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the second time we've stayed at this park and we've had no issues with the debit/credit card. The park is well kept and the front desk people are very nice. You do get breakfast buffet coupons, which turned out to be a nice meal. This park is across the street from the casino and we had a great time here. We made a point of coming back this way so we could stay here. Last, but not least, the price is right. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a nice facility. But a lot of the sites are not level, even though they are all concrete. We had to turn our coach around to get close to level. Even though they are pull-through sites, our 40 feet took up the site with no room for the toad. Will not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This spot is great! We have stayed here several times and it's very cheap. One our way home this trip, we had an issue with our trailer and couldn't use our water and the showers were very clean and nice. Also the pool is very clean and nice! We paid $22 and used cash, not a problem at all. Since we didn't use a debit card, I'm not sure what that issue is. We did receive the breakfast coupons and only used them once. It was a little of a hassle to get to the casino and our kids didn't like the cigarette smell so we didn't go back. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Beware: this place is running an old hotel scam. They don't tell you this when you make a reservation but they do not accept debit/credit cards. When you try and check in with your credit/debit card, they warn you that in addition to the $27 per night (which was $5 higher than quoted with no explanation), that they would remove and hold a $50 security deposit PER day and it might take up to 30 days to be returned. We were supposed to stay 5 nights. That would have been over $300 that they wanted to take and hold for 30 days. When asked security for what, there is no TV, or refrigerator to steal (like a hotel room), they had no answer. They will reluctantly take cash, but they will not run your debit/credit as a credit card. They claim our bank is the who does this, but I work at the bank I hold a card with, and they do NOT do this. There are a couple of other good parks in the area. This place is just an old parking lot with some slots put in it. Not worth the price anyway. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We used #3 site (level). The Wi-Fi was strong. We received two coupons for breakfast (valued at $6.99 each). Water, electric and sewer hookups were good. Reception staff was very friendly. You can walk to the casino or take a free shuttle. We have stayed there several times and will do so again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Easy on/off I-20. No shade, no breeze, sitting on a cement slab. All the sites are pull-through, the bathrooms and showers are clean. They have a shuttle that runs to the casino. Would stay here again, if in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
If you are looking for a nice, clean, well-kept park with Wi-Fi, cable TV and a free breakfast buffet, then look no further. This park is easy to find, easy to maneuver and has all those amenities listed before. The only thing that might keep it from a 10 is the concrete pads are a bit narrow. You'll fit, and it doesn't require great driving skills. The spaces are very adequate in space. The breakfast is at the casino and it isn't one of those continental things with a few rolls and dry cereal. This is everything you could possibly eat and prepared fresh. Would definitely recommend this place for overnight or when visiting Vicksburg. By the way it's also close to all the historical sites. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
An overall nice place to stay a night or two. Good Sam discount and two coupons for the buffet breakfast. Has very clean restrooms and showers. WiFi and cable TV both worked very well. Easy on/off access to I-20. Has good sized paved sites. Program started to replace older concrete pads with new. There is a free shuttle to casino/restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Having been forewarned that the pull throughs were tight, we decided to give it a try. Yep, if you are 40 ft. and towing and not wanting to disconnect, you will extend a foot or so into the road. Also, the turns into the spaces are tight. The cable TV was good, also power and water. The staff was pleasant. The free breakfast buffet at the casino was wonderful (a $14 value for two). We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is convenient to I-20, has paved sites, paved picnic pad, full hookups, trash cans at every three sites, a friendly host, shuttle bus 24 hours to the casino, lots of security lights and propane available. Drawbacks: has narrow sites, some unlevel, just long enough for a 40 foot MH, narrow roads, and no shade. The goods out weigh the bads. We stayed for three nights. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
BC-Shore Services: 50amp, Sewer good, Water 40 @ psi - Wi-Fi: Good - AT&T Cell Phone: Good - Sprint Air Card: Poor - Verizon Air Card: Very Good - Cable: Poor Could not use on site 5 - Site: Poor. Concrete but broken. Un-level front to back and side to side. - Site Size: Some good - Site Closeness: Good. Can put out awning - Roads: Paved - Restrooms: Good In office - Laundry: Good. 2 W & 2 D $1.00 each - Long term tenants: Few or none - DirecTV Satellite: Open area good signal - Discounts: None - Payment: Credit Card - Additional Charges: None - Additional Remarks: This park has a lot of 30amp and a few 50amp. Come in early and get a better spot. We would stay here again when we come through. I would have rated higher if the site pad were not broken and very unlevel. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Great little park for overnight or day trips. Friendly folks, good rate, free breakfast buffet, free shuttle to Ameristar. Will stay here again We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We were in site #40 at the back of the park. All sites are pull-throughs about 40 feet long. Toad had to be parked across site since it would not fit. All sites are single width concrete, with a picnic table and grass all around. Park has a small swimming pool, but no playground anymore. Has a nice dog walking area. Office took Good Sam discount and gave us free breakfast vouchers. We did have to pay for drinks and for our child ($6.99 person). Water pressure was good as well as cell service (ATT and Verizon). Wi-Fi was intermittent during our stay, but luckily we have our own as well. Trees are small right now so there is not much shade. Office staff was very friendly and helpful with things to do. Shopping and gas as well as the casino are all nearby. I-20 is just down the road so there is easy access back on. There is a RR right behind the park, so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. I could hear it, but dh was dead to the world and he never knew it went by at least 5 times in the night. At least it didn't blow its whistle. We visited the Vicksburg National Military Park, which was the main reason for stopping in Vicksburg. Park is wonderful with 2 movies and the gunboat Cairo, they recovered from the river, on display. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The 2009 Trailer Life book has the pull through size listed as 45 feet long, which was not long enough for our 40 foot MH and our pick up toad. I scoured alternatives for about an hour and could not come up with anything that had good reviews and was close to I-20. I decided to call and found out that the pull throughs are 60 feet long. Still on the edge for us, but the lady said we would be fine. She did put us in a back row, just in case. Besides the free breakfast vouchers, our shuttle driver dropped us off at our site when we returned from the casino. What a nice perk. And, of course, she got a tip. Nice park. We will definitely return if we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great campground for an overnight stay or a weekend at the casinos. Convenient to the highway yet far enough away to be peaceful. It has easy access to all sites, is very clean and has a friendly staff. Wi-Fi and cable TV were excellent, and they had a free shuttle bus to the Ameristar Casino. This is the second time we have stayed here and we look forward to staying here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Flat, level, very clean and well maintained park. Received vouchers for a free buffet breakfast at the casino. No activities for children, but right across the road from part of the military park and a scenic overlook of the Mississippi River. It is also on the Vicksburg Scenic Drive route. An excellent base for exploring the military park, old courthouse/museum, downtown murals, and other area attractions. We intend to return to this park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park, but it could use some maintenance on the pads. Price includes 2 breakfast coupons (worth $6.99 each) which makes the stay a bargain. We got a Good Sam discount. There is a free shuttle between the park and the casino. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are train tracks that run by the park, but it was not very noticeable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park. Get 10% discount for AARP. You also get 2 breakfast buffet coupons valued at $7/person per stay. Buffet is darn good. Sites are level and there is paved parking for your unit. Side sites are grassy. It's quiet at night. Free shuttle to the casino 24/7. Excellent security. Check-in is a snap. Bathrooms are clean and heated. Cable TV is good but only standard definition. Locals off the antenna are good and in HD. Propane is available at $3/metered gallon. Lots to see in the local area. Was disappointed in Coke and Doll museums. Battlefield was good (especially Cairo exhibit) and the riverfront murals were excellent. Great place to spend one or several nights. Take time to tour the town. People are very friendly. Will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Not a destination itself but a great location for touring the Vicksburg area with easy access from I-20. The park is large, clean, well laid out with easy access to pull-thrus with w/e/s/cable & Wi-Fi. Laundry and shower rooms in office building (only) are spotless. Shuttle and breakfast coupons are a nice perk. Great tours through local antebellum homes and the Vicksburg National Military Park & Cemetery is impressive, scenic and sobering. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy and efficient check-in. We got a coupon for 2 free breakfasts at the casino buffet which was very good. There was a little noise from the trains at night. The sites were not as level as I would have liked but they were adequate. There was good TV and cable reception. It is easy to access off of the highway and there are two nice service stations nearby for gas. Will stay there every time we travel east on I-20 to Georgia. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Cement pads and good interior roads were just right for a really rainy day. The casino is nice and well kept. Park staff is friendly and helpful. The laundry is nice, but a little small. I would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Good level paved sites. A shuttle to the casino is available. There's adequate Wi-Fi. Good friendly staff. Getting around the Vicksburg area a problem due to bridge repairs. Vicksburg National Monument is an interesting stop. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
It is a nice clean safe place to stay while visiting Vicksburg. Everybody from the campground to the casino workers were super friendly and helpful, at check in you're given two vouchers for the breakfast buffet at the casino restaurant ($14 value). We will stay here next time we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice park although no shade. Roads and sites are paved, it was raining when we were there and the sites drained well. There was a free shuttle to the casino and a coupon for a free breakfast buffet. We camped here in a Motorhome.
With easy access from I-20 and to Vicksburg NMP, this was an ideal location. It was also a great value with the free buffet breakfast coupons received at check-in. The staff was friendly and helpful. We did notice some train noise from the railroad adjacent the park. It seems as if big-rigs with a tow-vehicles had difficulty due to limited length in the sites. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is well maintained and the spots are cement, level, landscaped with grass and trees, with good TV and internet. The park is located across the street from the casino on the Mississippi River. There is a free shuttle which is nice. There is lots to go see and do in Vicksburg. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We reserved two days ahead of our arrival. We asked for a level site and were assured that was not a problem. When we arrived about 3pm we got a site that sloped drastically to the rear and also to the drivers side. There was no way we could get anywhere near level, and we tried with boards under the wheels and jacks. Having a site that is nearly level is the one thing all campgrounds should have. There were no other sites available that would have been any better. We did get free tickets to the breakfast buffet - the food was fine, the service nonexistent. We were so ready to leave the place and will never return as our problems far outweighed any good points about the place. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent value for the money. Free breakfast buffet coupons at check-in. Staff friendly, helpful. Shuttle to casino. Would camp here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
An excellent place for an overnight stay. Its near the Ameristar Casino and there is a shuttle that circulates between casino, hotel and RV park. All amenities were great, even the laundry. They even gave us a coupon good for free breakfast. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Good park for a couple of days to check out the local area. We received the free breakfast buffet coupons and used them, a great buffet at the casino. The clerk at check-in was excellent, gave you any information you needed. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
After spending weeks in the woods, this was a welcome oasis. The personnel were friendly and very nice. As an added bonus, we were given coupons for a free breakfast at the Ameristar Casino. Delicious! Quiet, clean, and roomy describe this park. Wi-FI was quick and dependable. Cable TV was an extra added attraction and did not cost extra. We will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Excellent campground convenient to the highway. They have a free shuttle to the resort/casino and restaurants are nearby. Easy access to sites and plenty of room. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed overnight at Ameristar on our way home to Texas. I had made reservations. The RV park is about 2 blocks from the Ameristar Hotel and across the street from the Casino. It has very easy access from I-20. The rate reflects a 10% discount. The bath/showers were small but very clean as was the laundry facility. All were located in the Reception/Check-In building. All sites are paved and close together. There is a very small patio. The park was very clean and the staff was efficient. One nice benefit was 2 free tickets to the Casino breakfast buffet which was delicious. There is a shuttle that will take you between the Casino, hotel and RV Park. There was room for us to pull though our 39' 5th wheel and leave the dually attached. I rated it down for no shade and tight spaces. Otherwise it was a great place for an overnight. We would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We were pleased with this campground. It is very well kept, safe-feeling and secure. The campground has a small pool, and small laundry facility and all very neat. Also has concrete pads, very level sites, regular trash pickup and great internet. This campground is close to all the attractions and very near a Super Wal-Mart. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice, all pull-through spots with cement. Quiet with free cable and Wi-Fi that worked well. A shuttle to casino plus they gave me a coupon for a free buffet breakfast at the casino for both mornings I was here. This used to be an Isle of Capri Casino and RV park so my GPS didn't know it by name. I would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This our 4th time to stay at this campground, and it is great. Staff friendly and always ready to help, if you need help. We will always stay here when in Vicksburg. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Clean, well-kept park that is starting to show its age. Paved roads, with cement pads and patio. Sites are pull-through, but not real long if you're around 38 feet. Hook-ups at rear of site, so you must unhitch your toad. Good for satellite. Wireless works well. Across the street from the casino; shuttle service available. Good location to tour Vicksburg and the Battlefield Site. Stayed three nights. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Honors AARP 10% discount; we paid $25.23 plus $1.77 tax per night and stayed 1 week. Shuttle to casino. Quiet and clean. Convenient for sightseeing in area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice level sites, 50 amp service, no trees, HOT in the Summer, great free shuttle to the casino/buffet, nice smaller pool, all pull thru sites. They also give you two free breakfast buffet coupons for the buffet at the casino across the street. Overall, not bad for $27! We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park was nice. The Manager told us they had only a few sites available and only 30amp. However, the park never filled up and there were lots of 50amp sites available. Also, lots of gnats flying about day and night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the same park as is listed next (Diamond Jack's). It went from Isle of Capri to Diamond Jack's to Ameristar in the past 2 years. Since my opinion during this visit is the same as last October's, I will refer the reader to the 10/08 review currently listed under Diamond Jack's. It is still a good, but flawed park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access to I-20, very quiet to be so close to the highway. We used it as a stopover, just one night each way. An excellent value with free breakfast at the casino. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very convenient to Vicksburg and inexpensive. A great value and nicely maintained. Cement sites and good roads. All pull throughs. We would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the not the campground you want to go to if you are looking for a back to nature experience. However, if you a going through Vicksburg or staying here for the battlefield or casinos you can't beat the place. Nice pull through sites that are paved. Full hook-ups including cable. A small pool and clean laundry. Free shuttle to the casino and you can catch public bus at the casino to all the other casinos or downtown. Nice place although there is no shade and the sites are close together, but hardly a parking lot We camped here in a Motorhome.
Quiet (except for trains); nice woods and grass all around property; very pet friendly; cement sites with small patio extension -- some sites need attention to break down of cement; convenient on/off and to all you will want to do; behind a ridge on the east bank of Mississippi and across from the Ameristar Casino barge; propane at reasonable rate; no "junk" or long term RV's; few 50 amp sites and some flooding in middle of park when it rained; shuttle service but you can walk or drive yourself easily to casino (5 casinos in a row on the east bank with this one in the middle); nice casino with great food at buffet; free breakfast a nice touch; they say there is a 3-day limit, but can stay longer if not busy; great civil war national park 4 miles away and beautiful antebellum mansions to visit with quaint downtown shopping; Walmart, Kroger, Walgreen, and more very close by; rate is Good Sam discounted; have been told this is best park in the area and we would return. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was our second stay. The park is very convenient to the casino with an on demand shuttle. All sites are pull throughs. Many sites are pitched badly lengthwise and from side to side making leveling very difficult if not impossible. We couldn't level and we watched 3 or 4 people give up and move off the site they had been assigned. It has a nice little pool. The laundry is small but nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground worked fine, meaning wifi, cable, etc. Convienient to what we wanted to see in town and surrounding areas. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Beautiful, well maintained location near the Mississippi River. Easy access from I-20. Casino shuttle service. Civil War history and beautifully maintained older homes in the area. Sites are all pull-throughs and large. Great space for walking pets. Only two washers and dryers in the laundry. Internet worked in the office area but not at our site which was near the back of the park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Big rig access is a little iffy depending on the location and how full the park is. We had to pull through one site to get to our assigned one. The sites are paved, but turning radius is not fully paved for big rigs. We were hard pressed to park truck at either end of 5th wheel. The price is great and we were given two free breakfast buffets for the casino. The buffet was the largest and best quality food we've seen. Shower facilities were clean, but limited in number. WIFI worked well. We would definitely stay again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Campground facilities were very convenient. The staff was very helpful. The grounds were very clean and maintained. A shuttle bus runs frequently to the Ameristar casino, but the campground is very close to both the casino and hotel, the downtown area, and the national battlefield. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We have stayed at this park several times before. We got reservations in advance. There were no 50 amp sites available. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The park is convenient to the Vicksburg Military Park, the casinos and their buffets. In fact, you will receive free breakfast vouchers for 2 at the Ameristar Heritage Buffet. These were very nice. Our trip was marred because of an accident while we were there. One of the employees of the contracted lawn service ran into the side of our Motorhome with one of the large commercial mowers and we sustained considerable damage. We are in the process of getting estimates. So far over $3000 plus other expenses. As we live fulltime in our Motorhome this poses some very difficult logistal problems for us. Quite an inconvenience. Could have all be avoided with the exercise of due care by the lawn care crew!!! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This RV park is really nice for a casino campground. Lots of grass and great area to walk dogs in - very clean - most people pickup. The free wifi is excellent as is the cable TV with lots of channels including HBO. Friendly staff - only 2 W&Ds but they only cost $1 per load. You get 2 free breakfast buffets that were better than most. We will definitely come here again, and recommend this campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
725 Lucy Bryson Street. A good Sam park. Nicely separated sites that are extremely well maintained. There are frequent patrols by a marked security vehicle. There was little road noise, some railroad rumblings but no train horns. Complimentary buffet breakfast passes are given at registration. Friendly, capable, and competent staff. There is propane on the property. No recycling set up. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice, well maintained park that is convenient for those traveling on I-20. There is a helpful host and and lots to do in the area. We gambled some in the casino, and our camp site fees were comped, and we paid nothing for a 3 day stay. We will be back again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
A very neat and clean park. We enjoyed visiting the historical area, and played a slot machine or two. There are concrete pads and picnic tables. We will definitely go back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Sorry folks, I still can't see this park being more than an "8". I've been stopping here 2-4 times times a year for over 10 years. Because it has 60 channel cable, a pool, and now on site WI-FI, it meets my needs. I'm in the camp of those who think many of the sites are not level and have crumbling cement pads. Also, some of the utility hook-ups are poorly located (at far rear of the site), old, and in need of repair or replacement. I'd prefer to see money spent repairing or improving the sites rather than flowers or bushes. Many would consider the laundry (2 of each machine) and bathrooms (2 showers each) too small for this size park. At least they cut back on their initial price hike to $30 when they took over last year. A nice, adequate, but flawed park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean park. Leveling was not an issue. Got free breakfast buffets for stying at the park. These are $6.99 each if not staying at park or hotel. Easy in and out and close to the Interstate. Will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Our fourth stay at this campground. Love it! Friendly staff and most of the sites are level. Elise (staff) is terrific. Will always stay at this campground when in the area. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
3rd stay and Ameristar is putting a lot of money into the park. The staff is helpful, humorous and very pleasant. Has shuttle over to the casino, with great food in several locations. Sites are level, hookups convenient and the entire park is spotless. Will definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Visited in 36' rig and had no "leveling" issues. Were there 4 nights and enjoyed the stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed pool and casino.. We camped here in a Motorhome.
THE WORST site for level pads. Every pad is concrete but I tried everything I could to get level and could not (#62). They gave me 4 other lots to try. #49 wasn't level and the sewer pipe was crushed in. #48 better at level but again the sewer pipe was crushed. #47 good sewer pipe but not level. Each of these pad were at least a 4% grade off level. Small RVs or 5th wheels don't have my wheelbase so they could find a level patch. This is not a big rig friendly park. Other RVers parked their cars in vacant spots to you would have to go find the owner to get on that lot. Good Luck at that. We had a "Rent an RV" come in and they had a pitbull and another dog that they immediately tied to a tree and left them outside. The grass between pads was at least 6 inches high. Some picnic tables were destroyed. The train comes through on a regular basis and every so often it lets you know by blow its whistle. The park must be close to a high school because in the early morning you hear the drum band practicing. The staff doesn't answer the phone most of the time. There was a huge mud hole at the front left corner of the pad. You can not leave your tow attached if you are a big rig. This is the last time I will ever stay here. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean park (basically a large parking lot-trees not mature) close to historical areas. Staff super friendly--great, huge breakfast for free at casino is included. We were not visiting casino but enjoyed the park on our way to national park battleground and other sites. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Site was a little difficult to level. Office personnel were easy to deal with. Although we didn't use the casino offerings, the campsite was close to the historic areas of the city. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here for an overnight stop. The kids liked the pool. The place was clean, and well maintained. Someone mentioned the train that runs by the place slow, it went by around 7:30am and we were already awake so it did not bother us. It is close the I20 and easy to get to. They gave us free breakfast at the casino (but we did not use it) Cable TV was good. WIFI is only in the office, but she said they are working on adding it to the rest of the site. We would stop here again if we needed to. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice - large and long concrete pads - friendly staff one of the better rv parks if you need commercial services, fuel, restaurants etc. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very clean park with level sites and easy pull-thurs. Friendly staff, shuttle to the casino and close to driving tours and battlefield. They also gave us a free breakfast. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This was a very nice place to stop. We were greeted kindly by the staff. Sites were neat and the campground was very quiet. It appeared that the new managment was trying to improve things. We noticed several sites that were being repaired with new pads. Again, the site that we had was not level, so we had to shim one set of wheels. We were here after a big rainstorm, but only a small amount of water was on our site and offered no problem. Shuttle service to the casino was on demand and only a phone call away-nice. We would stop here again. I noticed as we left that the sites were nearly full here for the weekend. Wifi was available and free. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a very nice park that is located across the street from the casino, and just off I-20. All the sites are paved, just not very level. Every one is a pull through. The $21 we paid was with a Good Sams discount. We got two free coupons for the breakfast buffet at the casino. A shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off at the front door of the casino and when you are ready, it will bring you back to your site. There are lots of good restaurants close buy. Historical sites are just up the road and are a must see and visit. This was our first time there and we will stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This is a nice clean park with a nice small pool. The concrete pads are too narrow to park rv on and still step out onto. There is a concrete pad for patio but it is too small for a fifth wheel. The lots are all pull through but are too short to park and leave another vehicle attached. Nice shuttle to the casino and the food is good. If you gamble enough, you can get your lot rent paid. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We stayed here 5 nights. Liked the grassy sites and picnic tables. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry room was clean. Enjoyed the coupon for the free breakfast at the casino. Would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is the old Diamond Jack's campground which was bought out by Ameristar. Very convenient to I-20 exit 1A and to most attractions. We spent 5 days here, and plan to go back when we visit again. The staff were easy to work with. A lot of overnighters and weekend folks. 3-day limit on stay is dependent on how busy the park is. Train nearby was bothersome at first, but then got used to it - even the 3 am daily freight. We had our windows open throughout the stay because of the very pleasant weather. Did not really hear road noise from highway. Sites are paved and narrow, although ample room for sitting outside and barbecuing. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I agree with all that the last person said. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the staff, convenience, and cleanliness. There is a car rental at the entrance which is in walking distance. There are a few sites with shade, not many. There is a shuttle to the casino regularly so try not to get on the sites in the most northern road. There is quaint shopping down town and wonderful murals on the flood wall downtown as well. We would stay here again! We camped here in a Motorhome.
I really liked this park for it's efficiency, location, amenities, upkeep and the staff. Judging by the daily turnover and quality of rigs that stay here, I think many others agree. We stayed 5 nights so we could tour the battleground (3 miles away), visit the vet (Vicksburg Vet Hospital- very nice folks), see some mansions, etc. The kids liked riding their bikes and scooters around. The park is on a gentle slope so front to rear leveling was required but no big deal. I liked that you could choose between 30 amp and 50 amp. That saved about $5.00 a night. The two free breakfast buffets tickets saved us even more, and the buffet was good. If you get a players card at the casino and earn 50 points, they comp one of your nights stay (either in the hotel or RV park). They have propane on site and since we had to leave, the fellow brought the tank back to our site and secured it with our dog cable even! Very nice touch. All of the staff we met were very, very nice. The pool is heated and very clean, we enjoyed a few evenings of splashing around. It is 4 ft deep all over. There are two washers (dbl capacity) and two dryers. They are clean and worked well. They run this park like a hotel. You pay when you check out and can charge things to your site, just like in a hotel. It is well lit and they have security that drives around many times an hour. There are no dumpsters, but the there are trash cans throughout the park. Just lift the lid to the container to put your bag in. The entire edge of the park is for a pet walk and it was very clean. Grass is throughout the park and around it (lots of rain in these parts). Overall, a well maintained, well run, conveniently located park. They even have a large lot next to the park for overnighters (I believe this to be the case). We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Narrow concrete slabs, some in very poor condition, many somewhat unlevel end to end, a few terribly unlevel side to side, nice grass, picnic tables, 2 tickets for free buffet breakfast at casino ($14 value). Wi-Fi worked well. We might return for an overnight stop. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Received a free breakfast buffet at Casino, that made the stay even better. We stayed for one night, passing through the area. We enjoyed our stay, very quiet. They had a free 24 hour shuttle to the Casino. We would stay here again, and would stay longer if we had the opportunity. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Rate includes Good Sam discount. Were given 2 coupons for Breakfast Buffet. This makes the first night essentially free. Free shuttle to the Ameristar Casino. Took about 20 minutes wait. No lines at the Buffet at 7:30 AM. Beautiful concrete pads surrounded by GREEN kentucky blue grass sod. Picnic table on adjacent concrete pad. Great Cable TV selection. Wireless and Verizon connectivity for internet. Park was well lit. Lounge area open all night. Coffee available in the Lounge. Didn't check out the pool- only 50 degrees upon arrival - 32 when checking out. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very clean park great for staying with passing through. Will stay here again. Very friendly staff and great free breakfast We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park is OK and they have made some cosmetic improvements, (although the sewer connections are still broken and leaking) but the real issue here is the casino's utter lack of regard for the safety of the park's visitors. The casino shuttles speed through the park at excessive speed and then cut across the empty rv spaces rather than using the driveways. I brought these practices to the attention of Ameristar management last February when we visited here, and again today. They could not care less. All they seem intersted in is casino revenue, no matter how they get it. WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT RETURN. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
We received a coupon for breakfast at the casino worth $14, so we figure the site really cost just $13 so that is a bargain. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. The staff was friendly and the view of the Mississippi River from the casino was very cool. The park is just .3 miles off the interstate which is also convenient. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Camping fee includes two breakfast buffets at the Casino. Long unlevel sites with broken concrete, had to try three before, I could level. But it's about the best in the area if you are there for the history and casinos in Vicksburg. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. Free shuttle to the casino across the street. Sites were level and water and elec. were good. Everything was clean and well attended. Bathrooms sparkled the two days that we were there. Good place to spend the night after touring Vicksburg or the casinos. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here a few years ago when it was Isle of Capri and it was decent. It looks like no one has cleaned since Ameristar took it over. The bathrooms were disgusting, sooo much mold and mildew. The breakfast buffet was good and helped to justify the pricing for the site. We usually do a quick overnight here on the way across the country but I think we will look for another RV park next time. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Good roads, sites fairly large and level. They have a free shuttle to casino which has a good buffet. When we were there it was raining hard and the run off for the park was very good with a very few puddles. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great place to use for visiting Vicksburg. As Best Bets book says, the back row spaces are fairly level - some of the others aren't. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is my fourth stay here since my first review of this park 10/06 when I gave it a 6. I don't see any indication of Ameristar putting money into the park. They now have WIFI but there has been no upgrading of the aging utilities and the cement pads are still unlevel and deteriorating. The rate has almost doubled in 1 year with the only noticable improvement being the addition of WIFI. Thus, I dropped my rating one point. Still a good overnight stop with good cable and now WIFI - just more expensive than it was. We camped here in a Motorhome.
All sites were pull through sites, fully paved. The visit includes two free breakfast buffet coupons that can be used at the casino. Park was clean with convenient access to the freeway. We stayed here one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is ok and is well discribed by the previous poster. We had to steal a table from a vacant site though. The free buffet was very good. They have free coffee in the office. There is a shuttle to the casino, but it is only a short walk from the park. There is a very steep grade going down to the casino. So if you walk, be in shape. Some of the concrete slabs are slightly cracked and some sites have trees. We were assigned a site. We asked for 30A ($22.50)(50A $27.50) and were put at the far end of the park. Nice spot but the WiFi was intermittant at best. WiFi improved when the sites between us and the office emptied out Sunday night. It is easy on/off I-20 and about 4 miles from the Civil War Military Park. The railroad tracks were about 100 yards from our site and below a retaining wall I think. But I like trains so no problem. They don't run that many. Would stay here again. The staff was very nice as were all the folks we met in the area. Southern hospitality for sure. Nice little town too. Very easy town to get around. Take the Blue and Red Vicksburg, as it drives around town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park was very neat, clean and had nice size sites with grass, concrete slab and table at each site. All sites are pull-thru. A free buffet breakfast at the casino is included, 1 per person per stay. They have free coffee in the office. There is a shuttle to the casino. Some of the concrete slabs are cracked and some sites have trees so look around and pick your site. The ones on the far end of the park are the largest. Looked like there was some new landscaping. The WiFi was great. It is easy on/off I-20 and about 4 miles from the Civil War Military Park. Only negative would be the closeness of the railroad tracks. Would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Camped in 45 foot motor home. The interior roads and sites are paved with grass and picnic table at site. Many of the concrete slabs on sites are broken and not level. Ameristar took over the park in February 2007. No improvements have been made in years with exception of WiFi, which worked great. Free breakfast at the casino and free shuttle to it. Easy access from I-20 using Exit 1A, then north on Washington St. approximately 1/2 mile on east side of street. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Stopped by on the way from Dallas to Atlanta. Very good experience with the Diamond Jacks park in Shreveport. This park has been purchased by Ameristar and was priced accordingly. They quoted $27 for one night with no-internet, almost no space, and bad power. We ended up going to Magnolia about 1.5 miles away. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Excellent overnight campground or base camp for the Vicksburg area. Uniformed security patrol provided throughout the night. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Can't get over the money Ameristar is putting into this place: trees, shrubs, mulch. It looks great, and we love it. Its our 3rd visit and we will be back. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a great campground for overnight or longer. The lady on duty could not have been more helpful and nicer. We had a pull-thur,full hookups. We would definitely stay here again. We camped here in a Truck Camper.
Park name has changed to Ameristar Casino RV Park. There is a shuttle to the Ameristar Casino. Park is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Park is also located close to other attractions. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This place has taken a bad rap lately, so we went to Magnolia, and left after one night, due to the sardine factor. We like the room at Diamond Jacks, the fact that you can open your slides without worrying about knocking your neighbors' coffee off his picnic table, and that you can drive your rig in and out of your space without asking people to move their cars and pull in their awnings. Yes, the person in the office could be happier, but I am not reviewing, or paying, for that. The park is what I need, and I'm happy to give it an 8. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Pretty pathetic. Bare bones campground. Ok for an overnight, but not more. They had a pool that we did not use, and the facilities seemed clean, but the campground itself was just cruddy. Many broken sewer connections. Grass and weeds. Certainly overpriced for a casino campground. We were here in a 43' coach and it was easy to get in and out, but not if you were planning to keep your tow car connected. And we could not attach our sewer hose because the sewer connection was way in the back of the site and we had to pull all the way forward in order to fit (with tow car attached). The day of departure, we pulled forward into another site and dumped. Would probably not return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice staff, but generally poor park. Lots were not level and not big rig friendly. We reserved a 50 amp site, but when we got there the last one had been given away to a 30 amp rig. Train track nearby so noise all night. Don't bother with the Diamond Jacks casino-the buffet is pretty bad, go to the Ameristar across the street instead. The best thing about the trip was the giant cheesecake at Bourbon's restaurant in the Ameristar. We probably won't stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is no longer Isle of Capri. It is now Diamond Jacks. We had to unhook and park the truck around the perimeter of the park. The longest space is only about 50 feet long so if you are towing a toad or have a large 5th wheel you may have to park it somewhere other than in your space. Otherwise, it is a fine place to base for a visit to Vicksburg, and the price is very good. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I have stopped here dozens of times over the years travelling between Tunica and Louisiana. I agree with most of the reviews but wonder how such a "bare bones" place can rate an 8 or better. Additionally, many of the pads are a bit short and beginning to deteriorate. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean park with nice sized pull thru spots. Some shade would have been nice. The RV park is now under Diamond Jacks. We were very disappointed in the meal at the steak house at the casino. A good place to stop for easy on/off access to I20. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is nice, clean, and easy to get to off freeway. It is not a luxury or frilly type place. It is good for a few nights and visiting area attractions or casinos. Staff was nice. They have a nice pool and hot tub too. Also have small playground for kids and lots of grass for walking dogs. Our second (one night) visit and we will go back! Good stop over point for long trips. Casino shuttle is good and casino is nice. Casino manager even had the security van immediately come pick us up and take us back to our RV when the shuttle had stopped running. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Barebones campground. Friendly folks in the office. Every site is 30 amp, water, sewer, and pull through. Get a players card and the daily rate is only $14.50. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We agree with previous reviews. The sites are pull-thru, paved, and mostly level, but narrow and will just hold a 37 footer with toad. There is a decent grassy space between sites but no shade. The park is clean but pretty plain. The bathrooms weren't horrible, but could be cleaner. However, you can't beat the price. The $15 (actually $14.55) is if you join their players club which was no problem. We actually had a little luck at the casino, so we came out ahead. We would stay here again, and we would recommend it with the understanding that it is not great, but not bad either. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Gal at check in was cranky but everybody else was pleasant. Clean and neat with shuttle to casino, buffet was very good! Small spaces but easy to maneuver and hook up. Nice stop for overnight or short stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
This park has two main things going for it: price and location. The other reviews have it right. It is OK for an overnight or a base to explore the area, but if you want much more, keep searching. Management is pretty non-existent. The days we were there trash was piling up since it hadn't been collected recently and one row lost power for a short period. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
While there were no trees, the pads were very level and there was grass and picnic tables between each. There was a nice area to walk pets. It is on the same street as the casinos and an historical part of town. We recommend the military park. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is clean and has grass between sites. All sites are concrete pull thrus with a picnic table but are not level. There is a nice grassy area for walking pets. The pool and hot tub area were also clean. There is no shade other than what you get from your awning or the neighboring RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a very clean park. There is no shade but we had plenty with our awning out. There is a nice little playground for the kids, a pool, and a hot tub. The sites aren't on top of each other so this was nice too. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Nice park - has free shuttle to Isle of Capri Casino. Street address is not listed on their website. It is: (at the end of) 725 Lucy Bryson Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. GPS coordinates for Lucy Bryson Street are: N32° 18.991', W90° 53.858'. Don't miss signing up for the Isle of Capri IsleOne Card (at front desk of Casino). Lots and lots of free stuff!! Don't miss visiting the Vicksburg National Military Park (Civil War). We camped here in a Motorhome.
This campground was very nice and the price certainly was right. It's right off the highway, between two industrial-type buildings which seems kind of scary. But it's spacious, clean, seems completely safe and is fairly kid-friendly. It's across the street from the casino which means there are shuttles running all the time which can be kind of dangerous for kids, and there didn't seem to be very many kids, mainly senior citizens in the park. The pool is heated year round which is nice, the sites seemed to be all pull-thrus which is also nice. They were narrow, which is expected, but it was very quiet there especially considering the casino shuttles. The shuttle can take you to the casino to eat or play, also. Would definitely stay there again, $16 can't be beat! We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
A great overnight stop when passing thru. Friendly office staff. Hot showers. Concrete pads. Easy to get in and out. Close to casino, historical sites, restaurants. Definitely would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nondescript park with no real outstanding features, but nice facilities and is there mostly for the casino. Access is very easy and it is a great choice for a short or overnight visit. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Is now Ameristar RV Park (was Diamond Jack's and Isle of Caper). Very open; easy access to sites; Concrete pads but not very level; Convenient hook-ups. Within walking distance of the casino. Sites are short so if you're towing you will probably need to unhook. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Clean fairly well maintained, interior roads & pads paved, shuttle to their casino, discount coupons for breakfast, nice nite stop, casino access, and lots of historical heritage and points of interest in area. All sites are pull-thru's. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Right across the street from the Mississippi River. Paved roads, concrete pads and picnic table. Good cable with many channels. On site instant phone, but dial up connection (26.4bps). No shade trees, but area is clean. Very helpful staff and numerous perks for the casino. Very close to Civil War sites, Natchez Trace, plenty of places to eat. Very convenient to get to and easy access to sites. 3 day stay limit posted, but can be negotiated according to vacancy (and amount spent at casino!) Good place to stop either overnight or for a couple of days. Not an RV destination resort, but better than KOA for sure. Some grass, areas clean, place to park tow cars. We camped here in a Motorhome.

This park is nicely kept and provides the shuttle to the casino. It's not super scenic, but it's a fine place to stop for the night. They provide a coupon for a $2.00 breakfast buffet. While I skipped that, I did have the dinner buffet at the casino and the food was very good (but not gourmet quality). The only negative was a little bit of noise from departing casino guests in their extended parking lot next door early in the morning. We camped here in a Motorhome.

No shade, but the campground was clean and neat...the people in the office were helpful
and very nice...If you get a players card from the casino, they drop your nightly by $4...all in all, a nice, clean campground We camped here in a Motorhome.

Large concrete pull-thru sites. Sites are slanted uphill enough that it took a board under rear tires to level. Utilities well placed. Every site has a concrete pad with a picnic table. Nice pool. Park was quiet. Would suggest reservations as park sells out early every day--even during the week. We camped here in a Motorhome.

If the shade trees were bigger the park would rate a 9+. Shuttle service to the casinos (if you've a mind to gamble), near Vicksurg Nat'l Battlefield, some great vistas of the Mississippi River are nearby, and drives through the historical areas of Vicksburg are enjoyable. We camped here in a camper.

We like this park a lot. You can only spent 14 days here and you need to leave. The staff was very nice, you get free breakfast, rides over to the casino and back if you like, food was very good. On site phone service is set up as you check in. we had a very good time here. Vicksburg is full of good places to see. We camped here in a camper.

A great stop-over at a great price. Has shuttles to casino's. Bargain priced morning breakfast buffet with stay. Landscaping not the greatest and very hot in summer with no shade, but convenient to freeway and a fun place with friendly staff. We camped here in a camper.
This small, not especially attractive park has the additional burden of being located next to a busy street across which is a port-a-potty business and a storage yard for commercial trucks. On the plus side, it has easy access to highways and is a good location to tour this historically significant area. The park has drainage problems which made the enclosed dog run unusable and walking on the grass a soggy and muddy experience. The gravel pull throughs are long enough but not very level. When reserving the site by phone, the owner was pleasant , and the check in gal was friendly. Wi-fi was adequate with a laptop, but unreliable with a iPad. We enjoyed visiting Vicksburg, which made staying in this park tolerable. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Found this park on our GPS while traveling to New Orleans. The park manager was very friendly and helpful. The park was right in the middle of some Civil War parks we wanted to visit. I would stay here again, Not a fancy park but everything worked well. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We picked this park for its convenience to the Interstate and the rest of Vicksburg. The man at the desk is a little hard to understand with his accent. The park was okay but there were some questionable looking neighbors. We didn't have any problems with them, but will probably look for a different place when we come back. We stayed here one night. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The contact that I had with staff amounted to a terse exchange with the on-duty attendant. He had a strong accent, and we had trouble communicating. The campground itself is rather tight, and I pull a 32' travel trailer behind a half-ton. The cable television did not work, and I was loathe to complain because I did not want another encounter with the attendant. As for location, the campground is very close to Walmart, to Interstate 20, and all of the Vicksburg historical sites. While touring the area, I noticed about a half-dozen other RV parks. If/when I return to Vicksburg, I will try one of those. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Was surprised to read the poor reviews of this campground. We found the park to be clean and well maintained. Sites and roads are gravel with grass between sites. Restrooms are very clean as is the laundry facility. Very easy to get to the park and only about a mile off the interstate. Waffle house and Walmart are about 1/2 mile down the road. Sites are a bit short for a big rig and tow. There is a wonderful 7000 square foot grass enclosed dog run. We camped here in a Motorhome.
With very few options in Vicksburg, your choices are "slim to none". I had read previous reviews about how this place would be good to stay at for a nite or two...and I concur. We ended up staying 4 days...and that was too long. Most of this park is dedicated to long term campers...with run down facilities. It had just rained 10 days in a row and the muddy conditions of the gravel "interior" were unacceptable. The small size of the park, along with the ongoing truck traffic and megawatt outdoor lights detracted from our experience and didn't warrant the excessive price. I wouldn't stay here, again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very decent place to stay. We were traveling to Atlanta and needed a place to park for the night. The owner stayed late for us because we were running behind schedule. He gave us a site that was easy to get into and we didn't have to unhook. Wi-Fi worked well. If you need a place for a night or two, this one will do. A few restaurants two minutes away and easy off and on to I-20. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very friendly people running this park. Helpful about everything including tourism. The sites are gravel but level. They are a little short with toad and long motorcoach, but if staying more than one night, it is no problem. Very pet friendly. They have a large fenced in dog run that is supplied with waste bags. There is also plenty of room around the park to walk animals. Great free internet and many local television stations (cable is available). Free shuttle to casinos, but you are very close if you choose to drive. Concrete sites and a few more trees around would have garnered a 10 from me, which would be quite an event! Price reflects Good Sam/FMCA discount. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Just stayed overnight. Basically a field with close spaces. Not luxurious but good for an overnight. Odd thing was the manager's insistance I knew that once I paid my money was gone. I assumed that meant no refund. Nice dog walk area, small pool. Met some very nice travelers. Would stay here as an overnight again, but not long term We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We chose this park over the other rated parks due to the 9* rating given by Trailer Life. The front office, pool, dog walk area looked nice. But the sites are too close together for my taste. Barely 5 feet between RVs. Too close to put awning out. Also, too many long term residents for me. Most look like they work in the area. I don't know if a 40' rig could get in here easily. We checked out the other campgrounds in the area, and we would stay at them before this one again. I would not stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Why advertise wi-fi when it's this slow? Cable offerings are very limited. 'Security' lights were so bright I could read a book in my RV with all my blinds closed. Makes it difficult to sleep! Barking dog in nearby site didn't help. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice place for a short term stay. It's a clean campground, the sites are somewhat close together, but the staff was nice, and the bathroom clean. The biggest drawback was the truck noise past the campground. There's a large sand pit across the street and the trucks are in and out all day including Sunday. The noise is a bit annoying. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Close to the battlefield and historic downtown. Also close to the casinos. Good short stay place, clean and helpful manager. Would stay here again. Not a destination, but nice. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Perfectly located to Battlefield National Park. Easy in, easy out, very friendly staff and very clean and quiet. Sites are well maintained. This is a great base for visiting the area but wouldn't be suggested for those looking for a "camping" experience. There is a pool and playground but amenities are otherwise limited and vistas are nil. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here overnight on the way to Alabama. The sites are close and gravel. There are several full-time residents here. The area was very clean and easy to get in and out of. The Wi-Fi was good and it has a pet area. A downside was the next door RVs leaking water faucet which caused a swamp as we stepped out the door. They said there was a shuttle to the casinos. Okay for an overnight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
I stayed here six weeks while working at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. The location is convenient to US-61 and I-20, with a number of stores and restaurants in the area. This park is in a quiet location. The owners are pleasant and accommodating to travelers. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Just south west of Vicksburg off US highway 61, a very neat clean well laid out RV park with grass-gravel sites. Bathrooms clean, hot showers. No shade. A good overnight stop. Would use it again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Biggest complaint is why upon check in do they say they try to space each RV because the spots are extremely tight & then put another big rig next to you where your slides are practically touching and there are empty sites everywhere! Cable had a very small selection and they charge you extra. Just a gravel park with no view. Pool looked nice but didn't use. Best part was the huge gated dog park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
As per previous reviews, the park negatives are: no trees or shade, bright lights at night, store has next to nothing available. WiFi was so slow to be almost unusable. Park positives included a nice fenced area for dogs, friendly office staff, pool was small, but clean. The restroom and showers were small but appeared to be clean and reasonably maintained. Would only stay again if had no other choice available. We camped here in a Motorhome.
To start: I was dissapointed when we arrived. There are NO trees at all, very little grass if any at all, the pool was very small and not very clean. The sites are very tight and small. We were able to get level and the power appeared to be ok. We could never log on to the wireless so we just used our card. I did not see any other over nighters, all of the RV's here look as if they have been here for some time. The office is very small and cluttered with a few RV parts, nothing special. We were going to stay at least four days but decided to leave after 1 1/2 days. The staff was ok, kind of rough around the edges but helpful about the local attractions. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The design and set up of park was nice. However, I found the service to be very rude and disrespectful. My child along with some other children were swimming in the pool while the owner sent his daughter out to the pool area, too. The children began to jump off the side of the pool when the owner came out and started yelling at my child before I could reprimand him. (There was a sign for no diving but nothing about jumping) I spoke with my child about this and he stopped. The owner then made a comment out loud in front of the other adults standing around the pool that "your parents should be getting on to you and watching you". I never left my child and he didn't give me the chance to say anything before he rushed out there and made a scene. I allowed my child to spend another 30 min in the water until some other adults came to the pool with alcohol...drinking in the pool. There was definitely a sign for no drink or food but I guess the owner made an exception for this because he didn't say anything to them at all. We left shortly after the first can of beer was opened and we will never return!!! I am very disappointed that this park would treat children this way. I see on their site that they are pet friendly but apparently not kid friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This CG offers basic accommodations - full hookups, cable, Wi-Fi. It is a very plain setting with narrow sites (17' - just enough for slide and awning), no trees, only landscaping at office area, small pool. Very helpful manager; CD loaners for talking Battlefield tour. Perfect for an overnight or to see the excellent sights in Vicksburg, convenient to gas and shopping. Just not a destination. We would probably not revisit the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a nice park, not sure we would give it “resort” status, but nice all the same. The management is very helpful and friendly. The grounds, pool and office area were clean during our 5 day stay here, they have a charming little sitting garden you can rest in. They will lend you a CD or tape for the Vicksburg Battlefield driving tour so you do not have to buy one at the gift shop. The park is convenient to all the local attractions, getting around is easy by car. The park is a mile off the interstate so it’s very quiet. The downside would be that the spaces are very close together. Our awning touched the border of the next camp over. With the spaces all full, it would be a little tight. Our 36 motorhome had it’s front bumper on the front of the space to get our compact car in behind it, but it worked. This park is way nicer than the parking lot the casino calls a “park”. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great location to see Vicksburg battlefield. Helpful staff, rate shown is with Escapees discount. The site was only just long enough for our 5th wheel and tow truck, and you have to put the RV at the front of the site and the truck behind it. If the site opposite had become occupied after we parked we would not have had enough space to hitch up again. Modern and clean restrooms. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park has good Wi-Fi and cable TV. Sites are long and gravel. If the park is crowded, sites would be very close together, but campers were scattered out when we were here. Staff was friendly and helpful. The downside was that the campground was lit up at night with stadium type lights. Since we don't have blackout curtains, the inside of our coach was like high noon. We wondered if there had been problems making this lighting necessary. If anyone has problems sleeping with light coming in, you might want to rethink staying here. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Was easy in and out off I-20, without the noise from the interstate. Has gravel, roomy pull-through sites. WiFi strength was good. We would return. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is exactly what we needed, to stay one night to see the Vicksburg Battle Field Park. Only about 20 minutes away. Park is easy in and easy out and very clean. Has long pull through sites. Even had a very nice dog park to let the dogs run and play off leash. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is neat, tidy and convenient with a supermarket near by. Although the sites were a little narrow, they were easy enough to get in and out of. Laundry was clean although the first dryer we tried didn't work. Noise level was acceptable. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Rate reflects FMCA member discount ...we felt it was unreasonably high for what they provide ...no "resort" by any means. We have stayed here before (don't believe they called themselves a resort then), but this time they put us in "a big rig site" in the row closest to the road, charging a premium price for that "privilege" when all we wanted/needed was electric hookup for the night. But after paying for the premium site where we could leave our towed connected, we had to disconnect the car to get out of the park the next morning when we found the turn at the end of row one is too sharp for a 40' MH w/towed!!! Easy utility hookups with free cable & Wi-Fi, but we were unable to connect to the Wi-Fi inspire of following their instructions multiple times, even down to turning off the pop-up blocker. We might stay here again if desperate, but would refuse any site in the row next to the road. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is not the greatest park and we will not stay here again. The sites are extremely close together with barely enough room to step outside your door. Although they put us in a site supposed to be long enough to accommodate our coach and tow vehicle, we were actually in the road at the front and the back. The sites are gravel with slippery, muddy, grass between sites. Nice metal picnic tables but there’s not a picnic table at every site. It would be impossible to have a table at every site, there’s not enough room. Free WiFi but a very slow connection. On the positive side, the manager was very nice. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice campground. There are very few trees which makes it hot in the summer. The pool is very nice. The staff is courteous and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is not a resort. The rally (recreation) room was being remodeled, the basketball court was less than a free throw line and there was no spa. The bathrooms did not smell clean. The Wi-Fi was very slow. After the rains there were puddles all over and they did not drain while we were there. The positives are that the managers were nice; they had a free book exchange; they were building a new bridge; and they lent you a CD/tape of the military park tour. The dog park is grass and very large but it also pools water during the rainy times. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is the second time we have stayed in this park, and we feel very welcome every time we come here. I don't know why one person posted such a harsh comment on the park, but the only negative is that the spots are a little close. Other than that they keep the park clean and help you anytime you need anything. Lady and her family was very accommodating. It does get a little messy when it rains, but there's not much you can do about mother nature. It is a safe place and there is a Wal-mart is about 2-3 miles away. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This was a friendly welcoming RV park. They even provided us with a CD or audio tape to use as we took the Vicksburg Battlefield auto tour. This was a very nice feature at a very nice campground. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park was clean and the host was very helpful. Wi-Fi is slow and you have to turn off your pop up blocker to access it. Sites are close together and there are a lot of semi permanent workers staying here. Very extensive library of free movies in the office you can borrow. Also, books to trade. Pool area was clean although we did not use it due to rain. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The park looks like a third world country. 'Wi-Fi did not work. Site next to us had a broken trailer with no windows, flat tires and was occupied.. Did not feel safe and asked for refund. Received all but sales tax. How Woodalls rates this a four star is a mystery. Almost all the sites are occupied by permanents residents. The place is a dump and that is being optimistic. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Our stay at Magnolia was good. The place was well maintained. We all enjoyed making new friends. One lady was very helpful during our stay also. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Was here for over a month had a positive stay, place is well kept up. All staff very friendly and helpful, makes you feel like family. Nice cool, well kept pool and grounds. Nice bath house and restrooms. We will stay here again, had no problems with parking our rig and the awning was put out. No more cramped than living in the city. Recommend anyone to stay here, nice place and very close to everything. Thanks, for everything always a friend! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a crowded park with tight gravel spaces. They are narrow, maybe 6' between my slide and the neighbors slide. A bit tough to get in and out of as well. It is convenient to I-20 though, so not too bad for an overnight stay. We camped here in a Motorhome.
As previous posters have remarked, the only pluses for this park are the pet run, one of the nicest we've seen anywhere, and the friendly hosts. By no stretch of the imagination could this be called a 'resort.' We camped here in a Motorhome.
We stayed here while my husband was in town for work. We chose this park because of the dog run area they have. The fenced in area that you can let your dogs run is great. That is about the only plus that I can say about this park. The price for a months stay is $500 a month. You have very basic cable channels, with not very good reception. The wifi connection is bad, you don't stay connected long. When it rains it becomes a big mud hole. The sites are really close and you can't let your awning out unless you touch the trailer next to you. The owners were friendly. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Many more plus's than negatives. It is not a resort type, but very adequate for a day or two. Easy access from Interstate. Quiet, friendly office personnel, very nice dog exercise area. Pool was closed but looked to be nice. Wi-Fi worked good. On the negative side, you are really packed in here. Too close to open awning, but easy pull-throughs. Gravel sites, and close to your neighbor. Probably not a place to sit out and relax, but nice for an overnight stop, and to see the sites of Vicksburg. It is what it is, and if you're looking for a resort type place this is not it. OK. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Well run campground, very friendly, good utilities, relatively clean, simple. Small sites but for the price and alternative campgrounds in the area a good value. I would go there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Owners are friendly. No frills campground with easy access from the Interstate. Narrow sites okay for a night or two. Internet was useless because we either could not get connected or we could not stay connected. We would stay again for a night or two. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The new owners have really worked to spruce up the park. They are very friendly, helpful, proud of their park, and concerned about their guests. I was given instructions for a "safe" way to get to the casinos. I appreciated the cleanliness of the park. The wifi has worked well for us. They have discounts for Good Sam or for Escapees. The sites are narrow, and we didn't put our patio awning out all the way because we were afraid that it would hang over the site on that side of the coach. Since we are here for only one night, that's not a problem for us. We will stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
The only distraction on this park is that the sites are gravel and not concrete. We found this park on the internet and stayed two nights, one going and coming from Florida. We will definitely stay the next time we go to Florida or are in the area. The owners are very accommodating and are true to Southern hospitality. Great park !! We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
After much discussion, we decided to stay at Magnolia this trip. My wife likes to see different parks, and I like to stay at ones I trust. Although it was less convenient from the interstate than Ameristar, and the roads are more narrow than I like to get there(our rig is 40'). We arrived and found a small, gravel road, non-shaded, packed like cord wood, RV park with more room for a dog to run than a slide to open. Never again will we stay in such a place. There were only 3 other places (1 nite each)we have stayed that are this bad, and they don't get the occasionally "good" reviews this one seems to. On the second thru fifth night we stayed at Ameristar; what a joy! We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has easy on/off access to I-20. Park has gravel roads and pull thrus, but no shade whatsoever. The sites are extremely narrow but long. The electrical and water connections are located in the middle of the site which could make it difficult to put out multiple slides for big rigs. The park was clean and the staff helpful. This is a good campground to spend the night while traveling on I-20. You can select a site without cable TV which makes the nightly rate a little cheaper. Would stay at this park again while traveling on I-20. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Sites are definitely not big rig sites. We made reservation for 36 ft. with 4 slides pulled by dually truck. Site hookups located oddly at sites so that RV needs to be in middle of short site leaving no place to place tow vehicle. We inquired about parking sideways across site - no way. Signs all over office countertop about not parking in another RV site (there were plenty of empty sites available) and being charged for addltion site. We could not put out one of our slides due to electric pedestal so very close to RV and if we moved RV we had no place to park truck or could not reach electric connection. All sites are the same. Staff NOT helpful, sites NOT level (even though the manager swears they are. Heed these reviews about site size and hookups. For one night, if you have an RV less than 20 ft. with small tow vehicle, maybe okay for short stay. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
While on the way to Wyoming (from GA) we stopped here. The woman in the office was quite nice, and her son, a computer savvy young man) was busy looking at the various on-line review sites. The park was well kept, but very narrow roads, narrow spaces: which make for large rig problems. This was the first time I had a problem with the "Big Rig" book recommendation. My slide forced my neighbor to abandon his seat at the picnic table between us. I have been to over 200 RV parks, and have never been charged so much for so little. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a nice campground. Sites are gravel but level. No trees or shade around the sites. Area is clean. Has a large dog run for our 4 legged kids. Staff was nice. Sites are close and the sewer and water for the site beside me was right at my door when I stepped out. This is my main concern and why I did not give a better rating. Two Casinos are close by and there is a shuttle to one if you have them call and runs up till 10:30 pm. Casino's have large parking lots so it is easy to drive. I would stay here again if I were in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The park is on the outskirts of Vicksburg. It was very easy to get to all the sites in and around the city. Owners were very helpful with any questions. Campground was very quiet and well kept but lacked shade. Pets were leashed at all times and there was a pet yard provided for them. Sites were all pull throughs but our 40' fifth wheel plus long truck was slightly over the length of the site. Super Walmart within 2 miles. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The location and access is very good. The sites are very tight and the owner will not allow you to park tow vehicle on grass. The park is attractive and has good utilities. They have an excellent dog play area with several bench seats for the owners. It is the best park in the area. This is not an outstanding park, but the resident owners really work to maintain an above average facility. We would return again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Well run park with excellent management team - apparently husband and wife. Although some reviews have mentioned narrow sites designed before the 'big rig' era and multiple slides the management team attempts to space rigs in every other slot as available. Park is clean with updated laundry, shower facilities + a large fenced dog run. What a relief for our dog to be able to run free, exercise and play without the restraint of a lease. As fulltimers we appreciate the large dog run. We have stayed a week on our way to summer in Montana but will stay a second week. Vicksburg and the surrounding area is beautiful and the town offers a wide variety of sites, history and eateries. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice and helpful woman at the ofice, and nice grounds, but way too cramped for our big rig. I like the location, and the neighborhood, but I would not recommend this park to anyone with more than a 38' rig. Not only are the sites narrow (my neighbor had to pull his awning in for us, and we moved the picnic table to accommodate my slide, but the roads are very narrow. My guess is that this was planned before the 40' coach was on the scene, and they have everything in place, and it is too expensive to make changes. I will return to Diamond Jacks (former Ilse of Capri) rather than stay here another trip. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This started with just a 1 nighter, turned into a few nights. I wish there were more parks like this. Friendly, clean, accommodating. There was no problem with having a dog (my dog loved the dog park), children friendly( assorted playground for all ages) and most of all free wireless internet to my motorhome, wow it doesn't get any better. The owners are really nice and they are keeping this park at a top notch park. Great place to stay . It was nice to see the deer not too far from our site. The sites are level and do have plenty of room for slide outs I did notice that they first start filling ever other site thats nice. LP on site was great cause we were running on empty. The owners live on site and office is open 7 days. The owners were always see doing something to upkeep this park. I would definitely return and let other know., It is only 1 mile from interstate and so close within a couple of minutes to everything in the city, We camped here in a Motorhome.
We were skeptical about staying because other reviews noted that the sites are narrow and we have a 40' 5th wheel with 3 slides. I called the park and the owner was very honest and said that they are narrow and they do their best to fill every other site around large rigs who are staying longer term. She was also extremely helpful with questions about the wi-fi access. My husband tele-commutes and internet access is critical. So...we pulled in our site and had neighbors on both sides and no place to park our truck. Well, owners to the rescue! They explained that both campers where pulling out the next day and we could park our truck at the office for this first night and then we could use the space next to us to park! Wow...now, that is a save. So instead of thinking about only staying for a night, we are now signed up for 1 week and possibly 2. The campground is extremely animal and child friendly. They have a fenced dog park with doggie bags and trash receptical. Next to it is a playground with nice equipment. They even have toys in the lobby for little ones to play with. I haven't used the showers, so I can't comment, although the bathroom stalls were clean. The location is wonderful. You are off the main road, but not far. There is a Wal-Mart SuperCenter about 3 minutes down the road as well as food/grocery/shopping within 5 minutes. When we checked in, we were given some brochures on Vicksburg where the owners had highlighted points of interest and mapped them out for us. They also told us about a special Christmas event happening at the railroad station with Santa happening the next evening. My two year old will love it. The owners make you feel very welcome and like you are friends. As far as the wi-fi goes, we have a great connection from our site, it is a little slow, but so far reliable. Overall, I am very pleased with the campground and would definitely recommend to anyone. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
The owners are very friendly and helpful. We spent a month here. We were included in the Thanksgiving dinner at the community room. The laundry facility and restrooms are very clean. We enjoyed our stay at this park and would stay again if in this area. The park is also very pet friendly as we have a large dog. The pet fenced in area was very nice. They also furnish doggier bags through out the park. We camped here in a Motorhome.

We stayed here two nights and the hosts/owners are very nice and informative. The sites are kind of narrow if you have slideouts, but workable. The location is excellent for visiting Vicksburg and not close to the interstate. A little more enforcement on pets off leash would be nice. While starting out on my motorcycle one afternoon the campers next to us had their dog off leash and I almost ran him over and would have if he went three more inches closer. Would I stay here again, maybe. It was a little higher than other parks. I forgot to mention they had free wireless internet available from the campsite. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
We stayed here for two nights. Seems a new owner has taken over the site in the last three months and lives on site. First let me cover the minuses: no picnic table at our site - had to ask to get one, sites are small - anything over 30 foot with side slide outs will encroach on the adjacent sites // lockboxes were an inconvience but not a major problem // wireless web - first connection comes through real good but quickly deteriorates down to 1 mbps - dropped occassionally // no fire rings (we both like to have a small fire at nite) nor were any fires allowed Neutral: located approx 1 mile from the river you can definitely smell it (my wife at first thought it was a sewer smell, but we determined it was the river and not sewer - the owner strictly enforces the closed sewer connections // saw a couple who had to purchase a new connection because of leakage - Walmart is maybe a mile to the north) // there is a vet's office on the south end of the park - trees separate them- didn't really have a problem with barking dogs and we were very close to it - next to last site at that end of the park Plus: Since we travel with our aussie shepard mix (60lbs) she definitely is a consideration. The park offers a fenced dog park area where you can let your dog run loose // while didn't use it (kids are grown) there was a nice playground for children // close to casinos, shopping and dining (able to take a back route to avoid having to hit the freeways) without being right in the middle of them // pool was nice and well kept, had a deck area for sunning (if you are into that). All in all I would recommend this park with just a few considerations. One thing I learned talking with the new owner, the site is used by many of the pipeline companies to house their surveyors a week at a time (might be reason for lockboxes). Probably had 8 to 10 there when we were and things were quiet and nice and everyone was friendly. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice park. The grounds were well kept and the sites were level. In talking with the owner found out she had recently taken over this park. Pool was very nice, as was the dog area. It's nice to stay at a place that has a dedicated area for dogs to run, where you can take them off their leashes. The dog area was good sized with benches for the owners (owned?). Many of the benches were in shade areas. Definitely stay there again next time go to Vicksburg We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
First: AAA book for 2006 states price at $18-22 a night. We had Escapees: 10-15% off. So how was my cost $24.88? Yes, the strong order of sewer all the time. There is a dog kennel next door: a lot of dogs bark very early in the am, and thoughout the day! There are lock codes on everything: wireless internet, bathroom, laundry. Very small sites. Other than that, it was fine. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very pleasant and capable hostess. Park is clean and well run. Sites are extremely small, my 36' 5th wheel covered all the land at my site-had to park the pickup elsewhere. Neighbor had to move his vehicle to allow me to leave. There is a dog pound or kennel at the west end of the park and the mutts never shut up. There is a lot to see in Vicksburg so this place is tolerable. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Gravel roads and pads were in pretty good shape. Very quiet while we were there. Sites were too narrow for our liking. Neighbor's slideout was within 5 feet of our door. OK for a one night stay. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Visited this park while traveling thru. Nice and clean and accommodated us in giving us a site that was closer to playground for our child. Although we have 1 slide not a problem with neighbors still being a good distance. While down on waterfront heard the train but not at park, then again you can be on Biloxi beach and here the train no big deal. This is a nice quiet and safe park. Close to everything. Will definitely return and recommend to friends. The owners are nice and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.
VERY narrow site. Woodalls calls for 50ft. More like 15. You cannot have adjoinging sites with slideouts and/or awnings. Older park , the sites are just 40 ish ft each. Most had toads unhooked to fit in site. Level gravel sites. We were awakened at 4 am by a constantly barking dog...this didn't end. We left at 7 am. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I rate this park as a 10 because of the cleanliness of the park and because of the hospitality of the owners. We stayed there 5-6 weeks and felt like we were leaving family when we left. The owners are new and are enthusiastic about maintenance and improving the property. They are always on site and extremely helpful in every way. I never smelled the sewer smell that some other reviews have mentioned and I know that the new owners are trying to get something done about the barking dogs at the Vet's office that is on property next to park. Even though the spots were narrower than would have liked, the owners attempted to leave an empty space between trailers when possible. The dog play area is an extra plus. The laundry was clean. The park is very convenient to the casinos, shopping and all the sites of Vicksburg. To me, our stay at this park was an experience in Southern Hospitality. We hope that we have the opportunity in the future to spend time there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Older, clean park with all pull-thru sites which are gravel. Grass between sites and some trees. Sites are too narrow for modern motorhomes. Only had about 5' from the patio side of my motorhome to the slideout of my neighbor. The sites were so close that when I hooked up my utilities I had to walk across my neighbor's entry mat. Not any fault of management, but there was a slight sewer smell in the park--this was caused by several campers who did not use a sewer seal to keep sewer gas from escaping(very tacky!). The park personnel were very friendly and helpful. We camped here in a Motorhome.

A nice clean park, just a mile or so away a great BBQ place (Goldies Trail BBQ)
Only negative comment, Train horns in the night. We camped here in a camper.
Wide open, no shade, gravel sites with grass in between, lots of space between spots. Nice shower and bathroom facilities. Super nice folks. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice campground close to Vicksburg MS and museums and shopping. Sites were gravel and relatively level. Restrooms were OK and laundry was nice. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only complaint is the local police set up a speed trap near the campground at night and use their sirens occasionally. Would stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is an older park located about 6 miles south of I-20 off Hwy 61 toward Natchez so it is a good place for exploring Vicksburg and even Natchez which was about 50 miles away. There is no shade and it sits high on a bluff. Office staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even loaned us a CD for the driving tour of the Vicksburg Military Park which is an awesome, solemn place with an excellent visitor center. Veterans can get a card for like $10 to visit all national parks so we paid no admission fee. We also did a Haunted Vicksburg tour(driving) which was well worth the money--they also have walking tours and once a month a tour of the military park at night. Now, back to the campground. The restrooms were fairly clean, but old and smelled that way. There were some spider webs and small dead bugs around. The baths need to be updated; however, I'm sure money is a factor as of the 108 spaces only about 10 or 12 were occupied. 8 of those appeared to be long term and at least l or 2 were the camp hosts. We were the only overnight camper the lst nite we stayed. The sites are nicely graveled, but the hookups are too far to the rear of the camper which necessitates the rear of the camper to be in the road or to use several sections of sewer and 2 hose for water connection. We might stay at the park again due to the nice people or the quietness (we do not gamble), but we may also go back to the park nearer the interstate next time because it is really a chore hooking up in the summer humid heat and having to use all those extensions. If the hookups were further abeam the site and the baths were updated, this would be an excellent base from which to spend several nights. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
We were very pleasantly surprised with this park. It was very quiet, well kept and pretty clean. The laundry room needed some cleaning but all in all it was good. Wi-Fi worked great, no issues at all. No cable, but for us it was no problem. The one drawback for me was no mature trees. There are some trees, but they were too small to give any shade. The sites were quite large with plenty of grass. The sites also were gravel but were level. The managers were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This park is all gravel, the sites are decent size but not very well kept. Our main complaint is that their web site shows cable furnished at all sites, and after we reserved 2 nights and were parked, we determined that they do not have cable. This disappointed us because there were sports events that we wanted to watch in the evening. They absolutely do not give refunds for any reason. We will not stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Pretty basic CG with gravel roads and sites. Many pull through sites. We stayed here two nights while touring Vicksburg. Wasn't very crowded which made it pretty quiet although there was some minimal road and airport noise. Cable TV was very limited: 7 channels. Appeared to be well maintained. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
I stayed here six weeks while working at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station. This is a basic RV park with few amenities, but it does appear to be clean and well-maintained. It is convenient to US-61 and I-20 with a number of stores and restaurants in the area. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Gravel roads and gravel with a lot of grass in the RV sites. Big rigs have plenty of room. The pull through sites are somewhat unlevel front to back. The front end of the RV needs to be up in the air. Restrooms were clean and well stocked with soap and paper towel. Cheapest laundry I've had on this trip: 75 cents each on the wash and dry! We stayed here 2 nights. It is a quiet park. Would definitely recommend. The fact that you have to do a U-turn when heading south on 61 is not a problem at all. It is a big 4 lane road and the place to do the U-turn is just down from the RV Park. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This campground is located along Highway 61 about 5 miles south of Vicksburg. The large open campground (it could be very hot in the summer months) is situated above the level of the highway, so traffic noise is not a problem. After some initial difficulty in connecting, I found the Wi-Fi service to be very good. The cable TV service is a different story. No network stations are available and the signal quality is below non-HD over the air reception. All hookups are located at the very back of each site. Long sewer hoses are required. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Can't add to the report by the previous reviewer except to agree with all he said...except we didn't have any cicada problem. Great playground for the kids and a pool for in-season use. We would stay here again with no problem and would recommend it to others. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is a well maintained, very large CG with gravel access roads and pads. The access roads and pads are of sufficient size to easily handle the big rigs (45+). The CG is located approximately 6 miles south of the 61/20 interchange on the East side of Hwy 61, requiring you make a U turn after passing the CG. The electric (30-50A) water (60 psi) and sewer at every site has no problems. The CG has a three station WiFi that did not work when we first arrived, but was repaired after a short down time and worked fine with a strong signal (we were at the far end of the park). The CATV was not very good, only a poor picture could be obtained. The RV Site Map was professionally done and answered most all of our questions. There were no mosquitoes only a lot of Cicadas. The management lives on the premises and is very friendly, helpful, and quick to respond, they even pick up your set out garbage in the morning. We stayed here five days and will stay here again when we are in the area. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park has simi level gravel sites, with the hookups towards the back of the site. For our needs (42 footer) it was perfect. Nothing fancy, quiet and is 5 miles south of all the activities. The Wi-Fi works good and the staff was friendly. Most campers are working people and during our stay we saw two new customers. No one around for some reason. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice WI-FI, cable and clean bathroom. Pool was clean but lacked lounging chairs. We do have a serious problem with this park allowing dogs tied up outside, unattended, in this heat. As pet owners we couldn't enjoy our stay because of that. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Nice clean RV park. Has gravel sites and roads, great WiFi. Site was large and accommodated our 40' motorhome and tow car. The only complaint I have is that our Alltel cell could not get a signal. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Based on some of the previous reviews, this park was a pleasant surprise. Nothing fancy, but clean and neat with large spaces. Nearly all spaces are pull-through, gravel pads, FHU, and level. Gravel roads are in good condition. No shade, so there is good satellite reception. Many long-term sites appear to be workers who leave early in the morning. The park is 6 miles south of I-20, so it's very quiet. We will use this park again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
We chose this campground because we wanted to visit the Vicksburg area and we have a big rig. This is the first campground we have stayed at that we asked to move sites. Our original site was near the bath house (assigned by management) and the permanent campers walked right through our site right up by the door. We would not have been as bothered if they had used the perimeter of our site. We noticed they placed another camper in that space after we moved, and they also moved to another site. Verizon cell and aircard worked adequately. This campground is wide open so getting DirecTV was not an issue. Did not like the laundry. We would not return to this campground. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Clean, peaceful campground with very large pull through spaces. Everything worked and the staff will loan you the Vicksburg Battlefield CD if you let them know you are going there. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in. The rates were reasonable at $27 a night. The bath/shower house was one of the cleanest we have ever been to. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff were OK, but the office small and smoky (cigarettes). Very tight spaces, but level. No atmosphere as we like for camping. OK for overnight, but would not stay there again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Bare bones, but the only place in Vicksburg with enough room for a 40 foot 5th wheel to pull in safely. Very nice owners and close to all of the casino action. Pet friendly. Beware, though, a beacon from the airport across the street flashes into the bedroom window all night, if you are close to the main street. The entrance is tough if you are going south, you have to do a U-turn to get into it and it can be tricky with a large RV. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Staff was nice and easy to find. Sites and roads are wide with gravel and plenty of maneuvering room. Electricity had good voltage, but you might need a regulator for the water pressure. Cable has about 10 channels. Wi-Fi worked intermittly. There isn't any shade, but it's not a parking lot either. We will return. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Very dusty. There seemed to be quite a few permanents, along with a lot of construction workers staying in the park, but the park did not look run down. Sites were level. Not sure if we would stay there again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Enjoyed staying there for nine days, well kept, grassed sites. Friendly owner who is pleasant and runs a tight show. Manager on site. All sites appear to be at a 3% grade so reasonably level. Water sewer and electric connections at rear of site making connection awkward but serviceable. Cable at our site did not work but the campground does have cable--and we were able to pick up local stations with antenna. On the main drag, very convenient to shopping and historical Vicksburg--but set away from the road. We would definitely stay there again. We camped here in a Motorhome.
For Big Rig access, there are no other parks that I have visited that equal River Town Campground. The rear hookups offer a small problem for some rigs. I understand that the reason for installing them at that location is a City Requirement. But, nevertheless, a long sewer hose purchased for less than $20 at a local Wal-Mart solves this problem. If you like being jammed up close to your neighbor, then THIS PARK IS NOT FOR YOU. The average side distance in this park is 40 to 45 Feet apart. The Staff are very considerate and friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park actually rates a 7. The 3 is because of the "pull throughs". You have to unhook your toad because of the hookups. The hookups are all the way to the back of the site, with 50' of electric and water lines you would be ok. But you would not be able to use the sewer (too much uphill grade regartless of hose length). We also had to unhook the dolly and slide it under the RV to get it out of the road. That was with 30' of sewer hose fully stretched out. They may be able to give you a spot in the back where it might to ok to block the road overnight. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a fairly new campground with large open sites. It is easily accessible to shopping and the highways. A large clean laundry room with 4 washers and dryers was not busy. The bath house had many showers which were immaculate. There was a lot of room to walk the dogs. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
Enough room for our large 5th wheel and tow vehicle. Be advised that if you are traveling south on 61, you need to pass the park and make a U turn in order to get into the park. The sewer and water connections were at the very rear of the spot which made it a little difficult for us. Cable was not very good. WiFi was fine. Manager was nice. We would stay here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV park is one of the best, restful, roomy, and friendly RV parks that I have stayed in thus far. Rigs of all sizes have no problems parking in the long and wide pull through sites. The owners and staff are very friendly and run a very quite, clean and safe campground. I highly recommend this park for short term or long term stays. We camped here in a Motorhome.
RV PARK REVIEWS NOTE: Owner of this campground attempted to post a great review of this campground, and low reviews of other Vicksburg campgrounds. We camped here in a Motorhome.

Very quiet park. Plenty of room for big rigs. The down side is 'no shade' so depending on the time of the year it could get pretty uncomfortable. Would definitely stay here again even though it's about 6 miles off I-20 it's still easy access to town. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
A very nice place to spend a couple of days while exploring the Vicksburg area. Plenty of room between sites for maneuvering in and out. Roads are all gravel but was not a problem at all. Bathhouse was very clean. Pool was small but would be welcome on a hot day. WIFI was perfect. Cable only had a few channels but hey, it's free also. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
No shade. No concrete sites. Large clubhouse room for meeting, games, etc. Close to casinos and restaurants. Some highway noise. $150 tickets given for dogs not on leash. Sites very muddy when it rains. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice park. Management was the nicest we have seen. Easy in/out with very nice pull-thrus, recreation center and bath house, pool and playground for the kids. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This Campground is probably the roomiest for Big Rigs that I have encountered. It is extremely clean The Owners and Staff are very courteous and friendly. Also, the Wi fi very usable with multiple access. The rates charged per night is very reasonable. The new salt water swimming pool is fantastic. I highly recommend this Campground for short term or long term stays. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Easy access from US 61, not far from I-20. Clean campground with very friendly, helpful owner. He told us about local sights and suggested an alternate route for our continuation to Texas. Although near the road, it's located on a higher level so road noise was not a problem. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This is a new campground, so there is no shade available, but the facilities are new and the CG is nicely laid out. Very big rig friendly and a large rec hall for groups. The owners were very friendly. They were in the process of planting trees throughout the campground while we were there. It is about 6 miles south of I-20, so a little further from Vicksburg, but it was very quiet there. Better than camping in town and close to a casino. We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Let's start by saying NO NEVER STAY HERE. Now let me tell you why. I travel in an Aliner pop up and weigh most of my ratings on the bath/shower facilities however in this case I have to say this was one of the worse camping experiences ever. Specifics. The cable TV wires had all been cut out I assume due to copper theft. The sites have a ditch you have to cross to pull into the site where my unit drugged the ground. While having my coffee in the morning a campers dog decided to come over and bark continuously at me. The dog owner simply yelled and cursed the dog. Now the the bad part. The shower/bath facility had not been cleaned in a very long time. There were huge ants and other bugs all inside the shower. When I turned the hot water on to wash the ants and bugs out, the entire faucet came out of the wall allowing hot water to flood the facility. The commodes were loose from the floor. This place has NO maintenance. The owners apologized but did not offer to refund my $21 for my experience. DO NOT GO HERE!! Very BAD! We camped here in a Tent Trailer.
Very unpleasant experience. We didnt stay long, and moved to the Ameristar. I wouldnt go back. It would be a one but it is in a great location. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Park does not seem to be well maintained. The first electrical outlet we tried was rusty and did not work. Site are level, even though some of them are on a slope. The park is very convenient to the battleground and only a few kilometres from downtown Vicksburg We camped here in a Travel Trailer.
Shaded sites, hard to tell if maintained well as only stayed one night and then moved over to Isle of Capri RV park. Sites were fairly level. Staff nice. Not a place we cared to stay more than one night. We camped here in a Motorhome.
