Beautiful location, big spacious pull throughs, and extremely quiet mid week. Don't know about weekends/ holidays because the owners run a big canoe/rafting/float site from this campsite. We camped here in a Motorhome.
This park is a gem along a beautiful river. We were camped right next to a path to a cool swim. The park is well kept with long, wide, level sites. It is definitely out of the way: 3 miles down a narrow winding road, the last bit gravel and 2-way travel un-imaginable. Fortunately, that problem did not develop. The owners are very friendly. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great find! About 6 miles north of Interstate 44, 2 hours east of Springfield. The last 1/2 mile into the park is gravel and narrower roads, but very passable. Modern sites with a small store and laundry at the office. Staff was excellent and very friendly at check-in. Very large sites. 3-4 pullthrus and 12-15 back-ins or even can be used as on the side. We camped 20 feet from the river under shade trees and had a very tranquil experience. The "Boiling Spring" is an actual spring that is the 14th largest spring in Missouri and causes the water to appear to "boil" as it enters the river right across from the campground. Great fishing and boat ramp on sight. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
This is an old park rejuvinated by new owners. They have music entertainment just about every Friday in the on site Grille. Friday special in Grille is Fried Catfish. It was good. Would stay here again. Park will be closed Nov - Feb opening for St Pats Day. A unique on site offering is a sophisticated AirSoft game played in the woods over 3 acres. Lots of fun! We camped here in a Motorhome.
